We had a wonderful dinner at the Block House yesterday. Delicious food, friendly staff and very cozy rooms. 💯

We dined here on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. Our server was attentive, and the food was delicious. The main dining area was comfortable with the tables nicely spaced.

The environment was nice. My advice is to ask for your meat to be well done.

We have always been very satisfied for YEARS!! Yesterday the exact opposite was the case. The steaks tasted like they were completely burnt? Wrong spice? The one ordered as a medium came as a shoe sole. The other one was just white with no sign of a grill.. The NEW Teriyaki pepper sauce was unfortunately not to our taste either, opinions certainly vary. Unfortunately our guests were also very disappointed... What a shame...

Für ein Block House einfach nur schlecht. Ich hatte vier mal eine alte Kartoffel, der Koch muß es doch merken. Die Steaks die wir hatten waren auch nicht so gegrillt wie es sein sollte. Malzbierflaschen voller staub. Restaurantleiter hat kein Interesse gezeigt. Von der Kellnerin die sehr nett war gab es ein Nachtisch und einen Kaffee für drei Personen Gratis. Die Restaurants in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt und HH sind einfach viel besser. Es waren zwei Tische dienstags gegen 14 Uhr besetzt, das wir schon einen Grund haben. Aber Herr Block wir bleiben Ihnen treu !

Every city I go to in Germany, I check to see if there is a Block House. It always achieves the same quality in the city. It overlooks a beautiful square in Nuremberg. You can also hang around before or after your meal. Their meat is very nice. I especially love the rib-eye mastercut. I prefer medium well. But I also recommend Rumpsteak. Salads and side accompaniments in meat menus are also very delicious. We preferred Cabernet Sauvignon, which they recommended to accompany meat on the menu. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, I forget to take pictures when I'm so hungry 🤣 the best thing is to go if you happen to be 👍 Make sure to make a reservation before you go. Depending on the season and city, it may be very difficult to find a place or you may have to wait a long time.

Visited the Block House with my wife for the first time today. I reserved a table online, which worked out perfectly. We were greeted in a friendly manner at reception and shown to our table. Menus were brought straight away so we were able to place our orders very quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks and food. The food was excellent and the quantity was just right. I have rarely eaten such delicious and tasty meat. Our conditions were very polite and non-intrusive. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back.

I visited the restaurant with my group on 28/1. The blonde lady at the reception where she also served us asked if we had made a reservation and after we told her no she told us that we could only sit for 1.30 hours, after I asked her if we would have time to eat and how long it would take for her to bring us the food, she turned her back on us, raised her hands up and said something to her colleagues at the bar. This lady is extremely rude and it is a shame that this restaurant has such a person. Fortunately another polite girl came and told us not to pay attention and that she was just stressed justifying her inappropriate behavior. But she had already spoiled our mood. The place is very busy and the food is good.

The food at Block House was delicious, the prices are reasonable, the quality is good and the ambience is cozy too. Afterwards there was a walk through the old town and along the Pegnitz. 😉

The food was tasty and there were good portions. Steffi was a super nice and attentive waitress. The ambience was pleasant.

Nice steakhouse with nice staff and a pleasant atmosphere. I had carpacio first and as a main course a tenderloin steak with salad, baked potato and garlic baguette. It was all very tasty and the steak was cooked exactly as desired. Experience has shown that the sour cream on the baked potato is never enough. Here, without any request or inquiry from me, the service simply gave us an additional bowl of sour cream, which was placed on the table while we ate. That's what I call really good service.

Steak was good, stuffed potatoes were tasteless. Restaurant very elegant and people very nice. Recommend.

The place is really nice, the food is great. Unfortunately, already at the reception the service did not appear to be one of the best, the one who I believe was the manager first pretended not to see the people waiting, then turned back in a very rude manner. Once seated at the table this thing it was confirmed, our waiter Maurizio was very rude and almost seemed to be bothered by serving us.

Always a good to and guarantee gor great steaks and sides. Very friendly and same menu. We enjoyed the setting right in the Xmas markets and no rush. Good baked potatoes too !

We were with friends in December and unfortunately I wasn't very impressed with the food. I ordered beef fillet with potato gratin and vegetables, unfortunately I only had 2 small pieces of beef fillet, which I found really lean... the gartin was also a small portion... I could have saved myself that. The service was great and very nice, nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, my friends weren't convinced either... Good natural food, and they make everything gluten-free!! Also delighted with the blonde waitress, she treated us very well.

We were on one of the holiday days. The restaurant was very busy. We sat several times in the branch there in Vienna and enjoyed it very much. A little less here, maybe because of the load. After onion soup in Strasbourg it is hard to say that the onion soup was good. The meat was delicious. Totally recommended.

Even though it was busy and there was a Christmas market, we got a table without making a reservation. Food was great, friendly service. The only drawback for my companion was the toilet. Disabled and the toilet is in the basement without an elevator.

The ambience is just like you would expect from a chain. The staff is super fast and friendly. The food was very tasty and the price was absolutely okay.

The service is really great. The shop itself looks like something out of time. The fact that there is a Mr and a Mrs steak in different sizes has actually not been okay since 1990. The selection itself is okay, but I miss both special cuts and different countries of origin. Everything would be regional and therefore great.

The best quality-price restaurant I have tried on my entire trip in Germany. Extremely delicious food. Low prices, much lower than other restaurants around. I totally recommend it if you are a tourist and want something delicious and without guessing that it will arrive at your table like in local restaurants. I found out that it is a chain, from now on every time I see one of these restaurants, I will go in. Thank you!

Good location to explore and come to a good solomillo in an agradable atmosphere and the amability of the employees. Good place to rest and eat a good sirloin in a pleasant atmosphere and the friendliness of its employees.

On Thursday, December 6, I wanted to eat here, alone. I waited until 8:00 PM and first checked whether there were any empty tables, there were. But I was refused entry, singles are not welcome here.

I was there with 5 people and everyone enjoyed the food perfectly. But there were a few errors on the bill. These came about because there were a few communication complications between guests and service. I understand that at Christmas time it is much more stressful for the wait staff and the entire restaurant, but such complications could be solved with simple communication. This was resolved in the end because the waitress responded very well to our advice and would have actually refunded us the entire price. So kudos to the waitress for reacting so nicely, I'm sure not everyone would have done that.

The staff here is really super good! From service to counter. I simply give the ambience 5 stars at Christmas time. Not overdone and really nice even though we sat at the counter. The food gets four stars. It's well made, but medium is more like medium well, unfortunately the carpaccio only tasted like the pesto. The quality of your meat is very good, put the pesto in a separate bowl, then each guest can decide for themselves whether they only want to taste pesto or something else. And the lava cake was not good. Especially not the sauce with it. I don't know what you diluted it with, but it wasn't to my taste. That can happen, but then again give the guest the choice. A small gravy with chocolate or vanilla sauce. You could certainly get higher quality from the staff and, above all, more than 7 dishes. Your selection is really small.

We went to dinner today with 4 people and 2 small dogs. Everything was just perfect, the service ambience and above all the food was excellent. We'd love to come back.

Food was ok - nothing special... but unfortunately the service and ambience were very bad. The lady who served us was super unsympathetic and incredibly stressed. She asked us 4 times during the meal if everything was okay... once would have been enough. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to order a starter and a main course at the same time. She only asked me if the starter should come first when I said I would like to have both together. She said they didn't do that because the tables were too small ?! Unfortunately, we cannot confirm this - if my wish had been taken to heart, everything would have easily fit on the table at the same time. In general she was very hectic and stressed... which meant eating there wasn't a pleasant memory for us. It was also so packed that you almost had to shout at the partner across the table; so that we understand each other... it's a shame for the price we paid for the food.

Viajamos todo el día en tren - llegamos Nuremberg 17 h 30 se registró - y por accidente llegamos a la casa Block. Absolutamente gran personal - no esperó mucho tiempo para el vino o la comida - y estaban ocupados. Steak estaba perfectamente preparado - gracias por hacer nuestra primera noche especial.

Not just the steaks are amazing but the service of the staff is just top class! The way the staff treated us was something we take away with us 🫶🏻

I realize that December is a busy month but the performance at this location was below all expectations. We were seated three times (with a handicapped person) and asked to get up and move three times. The waitress arrived with a bottle of wine and offered me to taste the first glass. Before I could raise my glass she poured the remaining guests a full glass. Why bother to taste it? All our steaks were raw and the offer was made that they could go back on the grill but by then we had enough. Overall we felt rushed with bad service and mediocre food.

It's not like it used to be. It's a shame for the famous Blockhouse on the main market. The last 3 times there were disappointing, very disappointing as the famous Blockhouse on the main market is declining with its image. The last time 3 weeks ago clearly proved it for me and I have decided not to go back. OK for tourists, but not for locals. Quality and service have deteriorated a lot. The ambience is no longer good due to disappointment. I really waited 2 years until the steakhouse recovered from the Corona period to even give a review. I only left the 3 stars because I've been eating steak there since I was a teenager. It's a real shame how such a famous steakhouse can be run down. Maybe this is also due to a lack of skilled workers in the catering industry, but that is no excuse in the catering industry. This is really a tip for the management, maybe I'll try you again in a year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ with 3 stars you can still survive.

It is useful to make a reservation, especially if you are going after 17:00. We ordered Hereford Ribeye as our main course. It is served with Italian or American style salad, garlic bread and creamy potatoes. We tried Goulash soup as soup. We were very pleased with everything we ate, I definitely recommend it.

As always, a German classic and a good one, Block House! I love their potato :) of-course beef as well.

Restaurante super bem localizado e funciona o dia inteiro, aliás estando sempre cheio! O atendimento é muito atencioso, mas pode demorar um pouco, justamente pelo fato de o restaurante estar sempre lotado! Eu pedi uma entrada, de burrata, que consta como nova no cardápio, mas não estava disponível, então fui direto ao prato principal: filé mignon que vem acompanhado de uma salada saborosa, uma fatia de pão e uma batata assada com um molho branco por cima! Como acompanhamento, pedi um creme de cogumelos! Tudo super saboroso, mas achei a carne um pouco pequena!

The food was excellent at a very good price. The steak was super tender and deeply flavorful. All of the salad ingredients were fresh and tasty. The server was attentive and professional.

They accepted it even with a full landing. True, they said that 1.5 hours is possible. But the drinks arrived quickly. We had a delicious dinner. Everyone had a pleasant time at the tables, ate beautiful and juicy steaks and all that. Everything is fresh and decent. I’ll tell you from the receipts that it’s not expensive, a beef steak is around 35€

Unfortunately, the best thing about the Classic Burger was the Tucher Weizen. The meat was well seasoned, but unfortunately fried to death... Otherwise, the food unfortunately has nothing to do with an original burger.

If you feel like a steak, I would like to recommend the Block House restaurant. At lunchtime there is a lunch special with very good value for money. The portion is really enough, at least for ladies. We had three small beef steaks with garlic bread and a baked potato instead of fries and a salad first, all for 13.50 euros on a Wednesday. The waitresses were very friendly and, although it was busy, very well organized. It is advisable to reserve a table in winter, as the main market is very busy, especially in December. In summer you can also sit outside. The ambience is suitably rustic in appearance, so wooden tables and lots of wood, overall cozy. I was there with two colleagues and we meet there once or twice a year if we want a steak.

As always, the food was good mediocre. Unfortunately the restaurant was full and therefore quite loud. The service tried very hard to serve each customer appropriately.

This time the mixed up my order. I ordered well done and got medium rare. However they compensated with a free drink. Atmosphere was kind of crowded and loud, but expected. Also food was not bad but I could not judge because I didn't get what I ordered.

Great as always, you know what you get with Block House, and it's quality.

Absolutely disappointing, I have often been to other steak houses like Maredo and similar, the steak you get here for the price of 27 euros is simply not worth it!!! Never again

Food was very good but could have been a little warmer

We tried steaks and it was good. It's a little bit busy at dinner time but food was served pretty fast. In addition, the restroom is very clean.

Food was great. The noise was considerable in the evening during the Christmas market.

I was very satisfied during my three visits.

The food, as always at Block House, was very good. But you always have to wait until you can order, 15 minutes until the starter soup comes, until the waiter appears again to pay after presenting the bill. It also doesn't seem at home when the waiter asks you if everything is OK. O. had already turned his back. Then you can save yourself the question.

We eat there every trip to Germany, but this place was a bit dark and cramping.

Rum steak wasn't quite done as ordered. Otherwise super tasty and nice service.

Unfortunately it wasn't a nice visit to the Block House Nuremberg this time. Hardly any steak has reached the desired cooking point. In fact, my steak was so burnt on the surface that it gave off very bitter flavors to the point of being inedible. The service was great at the beginning, but unfortunately it was no longer available after the main course, so we had to "pick up" our orders.

The soups beforehand weren't anything special. The steaks were all good and tasty with the side dishes. The service was good but not very friendly.

We are on a river cruise and had a tour stop and time for lunch. I cannot have gluten, so I was grateful.for our waitress's guidance in choosing what to eat. My steak was very good.

Last Thursday we had gone to this restaurant for lunch wanting to eat meats. When we entered the service was satisfactory and polite. We ordered pretty quickly and got a t bone and two ribeye steaks. One of the ribeye and the t bone were completely raw and unacceptable even though we had said we wanted them medium rare. In the end we said it was gross but we didn't refuse to pay. When we went to pay, the waitress asked us for a tip even though we had no intention of giving a reason for the food. In the end we left with 15€ tip. Unacceptable, you have to close the shop, it's making fun of people.

I was at the Block House today with my girlfriend, she has been there many times and was very enthusiastic about it. Today was also my first time there, but unfortunately I was really unlucky, there was a strip of plastic in the salad (probably from the packaging of the salad/dressing), my steak was inedible because it was completely burnt and completely absorbed the salty, burnt smell, and mine were too Cold fries... On the positive side, after complaining about the fries, we received a new plate, see picture. After pointing out the inedible steak, we got a very, very tasty dessert! It was a shame that I was so unlucky, my girlfriend was really sorry because she loves this restaurant! For me, the dessert was a savior from 1-2 stars, even though I paid over €70.

Very great very tasty, free fast WiFi. Steaks are served with the salad. The various matching dressings can be selected; American, French, Italian. Pepper was the greatest!!!!!! Total ~70 euros.

Nice atmosphere, but the quality of the dishes needs to be reviewed... With a view of the kitchen, we thought we saw that many of the vegetables were not homemade, contrary to what the menu indicates. The meat was not of good quality. Disappointing value for money, for 17€ the minimum dish…

We were back at the Block House on Monday a week ago after a long time. The reception was polite and the table also fit my husband (wheelchair user). The drinks came quickly and the waiter took the order quickly We chose the steak from the additional menu. The “extra requests” starter salad without onions and fries instead of potatoes were no problem. We ordered the steaks medium. After a reasonable amount of time the food arrived. As I had almost feared, the steaks were not medium rare but almost raw! Unfortunately, we have had this experience several times in Block House. At our request, the steaks were taken away again, but apart from the fact that the outside was now a little darker, nothing had changed. Unfortunately, the fact that the supplements were “renewed” didn’t help either. We then feasted on the side dishes and took the meat with us. The meat was then put to appropriate use in an in-house creation. It's a shame that they don't seem to be able to prepare the meat according to the customer's wishes.

Food was great as always! Service was at loggerheads too much with each other.

Second visit to a Block House, the first being in Stuttgart. Food excellent, Al hough hubby whined that his "medium to well done" fillet steak was definitely too pink. Mine however, was cooked to perfection although the same colour as his! Service was good with the first one being excellent but passed over to a second server when a large group came in. Unfortunately our second server was clearly having a bad day and didn't attempt any conversation or try to crack a smile or even any eye contact. But all in all, would go again. Prices are good, not cheap but definitely reflective of the value for money. Wine by the glass great as hubby can choose to have a beer instead. Location wise, it's next to a beautiful church right in the centre of the historic part of Nuremberg.

Very enjoyable dinner. The steak I had was perfect. The salad, potato, and bread were all fresh and delicious. Our waitress was lovely and we had a relaxing dinner in a harmonious environment.

Como dice en el título medio raro era en realidad medio raro. Obtienes lo que pagas y aunque no era barato que necesitábamos una comida casera de buena calidad sustancial después de viajar durante varias semanas. No decepcionaron. Muy ocupado como la Eurocopa estaba en la ciudad el personal era un poco lento con el servicio, sin embargo, se esperaba en ese momento ocupado. En general, una noche agradable.

With every bite I chewed on dirt/stone, whatever it was. I left it at some point because it just wasn't edible. Vegetable tagliatelle, burgers and potatoes were good.

Although everything was occupied or reserved when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and suggested that we wait. After a short time we were assigned a table and, despite the house being full and the noise level, we were served very friendly and professionally. The steak was cooked to perfection. All side dishes were delicious. I kept asking if everything was OK, if it tasted good, and one more wish... Absolutely recommended *****

We ordered sirloin steak and barbecue steak tellar. The degree of doneness and the water ratio of the meat were very well balanced. There are places inside and outside. The interior design is very good. Customer contact is good. The place is very clean. The place can sometimes be crowded, it may be useful to do some research before visiting.

I often come here for steak. Was only there again on Wednesday. The food is super delicious. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. I like Natascha, Mauricio, Dolomingos and Dimos the most. Great restaurant, I can only recommend it, give it a try!

Wurde hoch gelobt, war aber nicht besonders gut. Die Servicekraft war sehr nett. Das Essen: frische Zutaten. Außer das Fleisch. Ein Stück Fleisch für 44€ (!) sollte auch geniessbar sein. Wir hatten Hunger und haben erst bei der zweiten Hälfte richtig gemerkt wie verbrannt beide Steaks waren. Wir haben reihum probiert - es war einfach nicht fertig zu essen. Total (!) verbrannt und ein ekelhafter Beigeschmack. Nachdem wir reklamieren wollten, kam nur der lapidare Spruch, diesen Fehler können wir doch mit einem „Willi“ ( Schnaps) beheben. Da hätte ich eine andere Kulanz erwartet, zumal nur einer von einen Schnaps trinken wollte. Für 230€ an diesem Abend hätte ich etwas anderes erwartet.

Indoor and outdoor seating. Great service. Top quality food. Fillet steak wow. Toilets downstairs. Set in the historic town centre in the main square. Highly recommended.
