Yes - it's really good and yes - the side dishes compete well with the meat! My first visit to the Block House and my choice was the Rib-Eye Mastercut 12 OZ with an ice cold, large wheat beer fresh from the tap. The meat was perfectly medium rare and the baked potato with sour cream and the butter fried bread were the perfect accompaniments. I just had to try the steak garlic butter with it. A little earlier in the evening we had a free choice of seats outside under a parasol and the service was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back to eat here the next time we visit Nuremberg!

The food was perfect, there were really nice waiters and it was nice. The prices were great drinks and a mrs rump steak 30 euros was perfect price performance ratio.

We visited yesterday afternoon. There were 4 of us and were quickly seated outside. 3 of us ordered the special but were later informed only 1 was available. This worked out well for me. 😄 The alternative was very nice whereas the lady who had the special found it a bit bland. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly, particularly the waiter with the English girlfriend.

Its a really nice place to eat steak. They are serving with salad ( also with many different sauces its not just basic salad its a dream salad for me) and the meat is so tasty. After dinner I tried the dessert however it was the best one I ever tried chocolate cake with jam.

I don't often visit the Blockhouse and I visited it for the first time in Nuremberg with friends. This is easy to reach from the market and is very central in the city. There is an ice cream parlor next door. Since the bedside tables in the blockhouse are rather meager, it's a pretty good combination. There were many covered tables outside, where you are generally protected from the weather. Very good. The waitress seated us quickly and took the order quickly. Friendliness was limited. Not excessively, but I would have imagined it to be a bit more likeable. You can't please everyone. :-) Food selection is ok. The card is rather slim. Be careful when you order a burger, you only get the patty, not a classic burger. I had made this mistake before. I had rump steak 250g, which I found to be quite expensive at 32.50 euros, like the entire menu, but it was good. In contrast to the baked potato. The salad was initially standard and not worth mentioning. I was impressed by the prices for drinks, including the “Regional water fresh from the tap with ice and lemon” for 2.70 euros for 0.5 liters. This cannot be offset against service if 4 people order the full order, including drinks, something like this should be free or in the cent range. I also don't understand that a Coke Zero is more expensive than a normal one. You can debate the portion size or not, but in the end you were full. Overall everything was ok, but not really worth it. I've eaten much better at lower prices, paid nothing for my water and as a group we put a lot on the table. Somehow the expectations of Blockhouse were greater.

A very good restaurant in the heart of Nuremberg. Everything just fits here. Go in, take a seat and enjoy.

It was disappointing for us. The food was really not tasty. The waiters were friendly and helpful, even helping us with the toddler. Afterwards the children received a souvenir.

Excellent meat at a great price

Not bad. Steak chain type place. To get away from the knuckles and sausages a little. More expensive than a German restaurant but with good and fast service. It's good but I wouldn't repeat it again.

Really nice place, keeps the quality and service on a high level, even by being located so centrally, with usual flow of people... I like invite here my guests from other cities, and also friends from Nuremberg. Steaks are tasty and same good quality for reasonable price. Service is really nicely and positively different from average German or especially Frankonian level of hospitality, if you know what I mean 😉

So I found it very comfortable here. Was delicious. The service was super friendly. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I thought it was nice to sit outside and eat... with a view of the church and the market square. Hammer! I will eat here more often.

Super nice attentive service. Food was ok but not great

This evening I had the pleasure of dining again at Blockhouse Nürnberg, a restaurant I already know well. As always, the ambience was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, which made the entire stay very pleasant. As a starter I chose the grass-fed beef tartare and a coleslaw salad. Both dishes were excellently prepared and offered a delicious start to the evening. For the main course I chose an American tenderloin, medium rare. The steak was excellently prepared - beautifully seared on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. The quality of the meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful. There was also a selection of side dishes; I chose the baked potato and the Blockhouse bread with sour cream. Both side dishes were equally delicious and completed the dish perfectly. To drink I chose sparkling water, which was a refreshing accompaniment to the meal. Finally, I treated myself to a dessert: vanilla ice cream with lots of chocolate sauce. The dessert was a real treat and was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. Overall, the visit to the Blockhouse Nuremberg was once again a great experience. The consistently high quality of the food and the excellent service make this restaurant one of my favorites. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great steak and dinner. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The place would have been fine if.. 1. The waiter does not pour the beer next to the glass. 2. Do not bring out the sauce for the steak at the last bite. 3. The head waiter wouldn't let me into the bathroom until I showed him where we were sitting!😡 Well, well!😡

It was my first time at this affiliate and I left with mixed feelings: on one side the good steak, properly done, with the rest of the food of a lower quality, on the other the service which was overeager at times, but completely uninterested otherwise. At such high prices one can expect more from this chain.

Hat mich sehr gefreut und war eine richtige Wahl dieses Restaurant zu besuchen. Lage is top, direkt am Hauptmarkt. Steak war perfekt vorbereitet, Hut ab für Chef und Küchenteam, Service hat auch super Arbeit geleistet. Eine tolle Atmosphäre herrschte am Sonnabend in Steakhouse 😁

Celebrated my birthday at the Blockhouse today. Nice ambience, delicious food and great service. Steaks were all grilled to perfection as ordered. And there was also a surprise for her birthday. We will be back. :-)

Three of us were there for the first time today, and were pleasantly surprised at the beginning that we were collected at the entrance and assigned to our seats. A man served us the whole time, to whom the greatest praise goes, great service, super friendly, and good humor with sayings, the salad was good but in my opinion it could have been a little more of everything but the taste was still good, we didn't have to wait too long for our food and everything arrived on time, The MR rump steak, fried medium, was a taste explosion and good quality, fries and the mayonnaise were very good, the price was slightly expensive but still justified for today's prices and inflation, I will recommend it and will definitely go there again as soon as we are there again eat👍🏽👍🏽

Super tender steak and delicious salad. Top service.

Food completely overpriced for the tiny portion, hardly seasoned, carelessly prepared. Just a tourist stop. No sauce at all, but to be fair there was no extra charge for the herb butter that was ordered later. We had to wait a while until the drink order was taken, but after that the service was ok and friendly. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy and was actually the best part of the evening. Overall, Blockhouse isn't worth a second visit to us. There are other, long-established steakhouses in Nuremberg that are really worth the money!

We were on a gfuided tour and needed a rest and a drink. Block House is on the main platz in Nuremberg. Service and ambience was great, as were my beer and her Aperol Spritz

BLOCK HOUSE Nuremberg I had dinner with a friend at the Block House in the city center last night on June 22nd, 2024 and unfortunately I have to say that our visit was a disappointing experience. We both ordered a steak medium well, but when the food came, my meat was completely cooked through. I then lodged a complaint and after 20 minutes of waiting I received my steak again - but this time it was so raw that it was almost impossible to cut with a knife. I really felt sorry for the waitress because she had to bring my steak back to the kitchen. Finally I received what I originally ordered. This has never happened to me before and I really hope this was an exception. Unfortunately, this incident greatly tarnished my impression of the Block House.

I have visited this Block House before when I previously visited Nuremberg, and I’m glad that it’s still a brilliant steak house. The quality of the steak and wine was really good. We went for an off menu tomahawk steak between two and it was beautifully cooked and the sides complemented it perfectly. The wine, which was French was good as well. We sat out over the square which was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. I am looking forward to coming back to this Block House when I’m next on business in Nuremberg.

We had a lovely meal. I had steak which was cooked to perfrction and my wife had a burger. The service was excellent. Our server, Stefanie, was very attentive without being intrusive. It was a lovely end to a wonderful day in the beautiful city of Nuremberg.

Hier schreibe ich nicht für Nürnberg , sondern für mehrere Besuche der Kette . Meine Subjektive Meinung ! Es wird am Material gespart . Knoblauchbrot sehr klein z.B. oder die Mini Ofenkartoffeln (zu lange im Ofen TROCKEN) Auch der Salat hat sparsame Beigaben !!!! Das war früher Besser . Die so hoch beworbene Fleisch Qualität ist für mich sicher nicht erreicht !! An Zugaben (kostenlos) wie Kräuterbutter / Chimichuri wird erst gar nicht gedacht . Mit den aufgerufenen Preisen kalkulatorisch kein Problem . Die Anrichteweisen sind absolut SPARSAM , kein Spaß für das Auge nur Minimalistisch . Für mich das T BONE ...... na ja können viele andere besser . Das Rinderrückensteak ... zuviel verbliebene Sehne nicht zart und trocken trotz medium. Selbst ein Rib Eye von Aldi war inder Qualität BESSER !!! Viel ERFOLG bei den Verbesserungen !!!!

Very friendly service, good food

A food chain that I had recently discovered in Hamburg. Excellent quality of the meat "it is cut with a fork", the dish is very abundant, it is enough to share.

In terms of taste, the food was quite good, the potato gratin took the attention away from the Staek, which was simply fried carelessly. We had to use the same cutlery for the salad and the main course, perhaps we are used to a higher quality service but for the general public it is quite appropriate and good.

The steak is not the best quality and too expensive, I will look for an alternative.

Were guests at the Blockhaus Nuremberg at the weekend. Found a place straight away Nice personel Food was delicious. A sauce with the steak would have been nice. But to be honest, what's not possible in a restaurant with high prices is that they have the cheapest fries to eat. For a location like this I expect higher quality fries!

Nice ambience, good food and service that does the basics extremely well. This is not meant in a bad way, but rather in a positive way. Because that is no longer the case everywhere these days. You felt very well looked after.

Very busy restaurant. Unfortunately, short-term reservations are not possible. Nevertheless, the waiter had a nice table for the three of us. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food is typical of Block House and very good. However, the price difference for a 180 g and a 250 g rump steak menu (€25 to €35) is initially shocking. It's also a shame that you have to shell out €1 even for a small slice of herb butter. Overall, however, the price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable for today's times, when you pay 25-28 euros for schnitzel/fries.

It is a pleasant place located right in the middle of the historical city center, whose density increases significantly especially during fair times. Reservation is required, I cannot say the meat we ate was bad, it is a nice restaurant where you will be very satisfied.

One of the Best place for quality food in old city 😍

I have known the shop for over 10 years. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated very much. Serving a carpaccio in a steakhouse that is of inferior quality and not freshly tapped is an absolute no go! Add some dill sauce that completely drowns out the taste of the carpaccio. Steak tasted like a neck steak from Lidl, which is exactly how I would have managed it. That's not what you go to a steakhouse for. The garlic bread had probably been there for a while and was no longer fresh. All in all, unfortunately a disappointment. We probably won't come back again. Sad development

The restaurant specializing in steaks is located directly on Nuremberg's main market. The staff is very courteous and takes great care of the guests' well-being. The food tasted very good. The waiting times are moderate. Priced according to the location, the quality and today's times.

The right place for steak and beer

This was our first time there and we really loved the food! We chose a menu with a salad as a starter and then steak with baked potatoes and garlic bread. The steak was very tasty, the side dishes were really good too! My favorite was definitely the bread 😅 Unfortunately the waitress wasn't there and she had forgotten a few little things. Overall we were very satisfied 😁

Were there for the trade fair dinner in a team of 10 people. The restaurant was well attended! Not all orders arrived perfectly, but that was due to the size of the group. The food was top class, whether salad, soup, steak or dessert... Simply heavenly!!!! Always my pleasure!

An outstanding meal! The Filet was cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh and tasty. Table service here was exceptional and I was taken well care of by Florian an exceptional young Bavarian man whose recommendation for beer was also spot on.

Food was great, cheap lunch and the salmon was also good ;-) Friendly staff and everything was great with the reservation. One thing, you shouldn't clear the plates when people are still eating.

Today we had dinner at Block Hous again. We love taking our daughter there as it is a surprisingly child-friendly restaurant. At the beginning there is always something for the little ones to paint and at the end each child is given a little something. Price was also increased due to inflation (everything within reason and understandable). As always, the quality is good and so far every dish has been tasty. Conclusion: A bit expensive for a medium-sized restaurant but within reason. Family friendly service and good quality food. Recommendation for all families with children who disagree about what they want to eat.

The portion was definitely ok, you were full. Personally, I thought my steak was a bit too well done for medium... but it wasn't the end of the world. Overall it wasn't really anything special. I was hoping for more because of the hype. Unfortunately, the service came very rarely. The price-performance ratio wasn't right. If I spend more than €100 in a restaurant, I don't want a burger house atmosphere.

This was our first time at Block House and we will definitely come back. The waitress (Steffi according to the receipt) was super friendly and explained the menu to us in detail. The food was ready really quickly and so delicious. We had bruschetta, rib eye steak and the lamb chops. Everything was really tasty. Thank you for the pleasant time in your restaurant. Steffi made a significant contribution to making us feel very comfortable and always had a smile for us and asked several times if everything was okay. It's really rare to receive such great service. See you next time!

A very good chain. The meat was of excellent quality, unfortunately the doneness was well below medium. However, the waiter asked directly whether it would fit and that he would be happy to let it go over the grill again if desired. However, I also like it medium-rare. The service was optimal and the ambience... Well... it's fine. The chain on the main market is of course very busy. But all in all a good evening at fairly high prices. But how often do you treat yourself to something like that? 4.5 out of 5

A steak house right on Nuremberg's main market. This of course means that it is very full of tourists. But the restaurant is well prepared for this with many waitresses. The steaks were a nice size but I think they should have rested on the grill a little longer. Side dishes like salad, potatoes, etc. were great. You can eat good steak here. . Greetings Alex

I treated myself to the most expensive piece of meat for 44 euros 250g and was disappointed. It should be medium, but almost raw and cold on the inside. Of course, the staff offered me a new meal, but since I believe that food doesn't belong in the trash, I politely declined. The bottom line is that the boss also tried to make me happy, but mistakes like that shouldn't happen in the price range. Nevertheless, I am and remain a friend of BLOCK HOUSE and will continue to dine there when the opportunity arises. Thank you.

Maybe focus more on quality than quantity. Should be possible at these prices... Conclusion: not the "Grande Cuisine", especially not on Saturday evening...

I love the beef tartare there. My girlfriend had the best steak of her life with salad, potatoes and vegetables for a reasonable 22 euros, very attentive service. I like the red and white checkered tablecloths. That seems so homely.

The food and service was excellent. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to find us a table. The food was prepared exactly as we ordered and the whole family was very pleased. It is also very centrally located so after dinner you can walk around the old town with ease.

I would like to keep it short, I always try to write my review objectively. Actually what I experienced too. I ordered a nice T-bone steak 500 g and actually expected a nice, thick, juicy steak. Instead, something thin came that was far too thin for a T-bone steak and therefore of course far too dry on the menu with a nice layer of fat. But there was no sign of it. Also it wasn't delivered medium. So overall a very big disappointment. Apart from the fact that the drinks are way too overpriced for a glass of wine eight euros from an open bottle that you can't see. In total you paid €180 and I could definitely expect something different here. So I told the waitress that the steak was a disaster. If you actually feel like eating a steak, I recommend you find another steakhouse
