Very tasty food and quick service. Gladly again

As always at Block House, the food was great, but the service here was exceptionally friendly and attentive! They spoke very kind words to our Dalmatian and even gave him a little pat.

The price/performance ratio is right. Top quality, service, and atmosphere are top-notch. I'd be happy to go again.

After a way overpriced and unfortunately overcooked steak the waiter all but demanded a tip as well. Avoid this place like the plague!

Our first meal in Nuremberg was at Block House, stumbled upon while the boys were craving meat. They ordered the Hereford ribeye and mushroom steak , juicy and tender. The fresh salad, garlic bread, and baked potato with sour cream rounded out the meal perfectly. Our server, Steffi, was attentive and thoughtful. Noticing I wasn’t feeling well, she recommended the hearty Bull Soup, which was spot on. The boys ended with apple strudel and ice cream which was great. Highly recommended for good food and warm service.

Excellent service in general, but also in particular (thanks to Maria!). Never pushy, but you never had to wait long for anything. The food was perfect, steak medium-rare, with perfect grilled flavors. We had a very nice evening!

I ask for medium, the steak is obviously overcooked. And it tastes bitter at the surface, like the pot was not cleaned properly. The service from the waiter is ok, but the lady who checked us out(probably the head waiter) ask for 15% tipps for this horrible food. I admire the confidence

For a chain restaurant, the food is very good and the service is prompt. The burger with baked potatoes is excellent.

I haven't written a review in a while, but this restaurant is 100% worth it. From the service (thanks to Steffi, best waitress ever!!!) to the food to the birthday surprise, I haven't been this impressed by a restaurant like this in a long time, and this topped it all (: Will definitely be back (:

We were there very spontaneously, but we were also curious to see how the food would taste, as Block House also offers frozen items. We were pleasantly surprised and have only good things to say. The meat was very tasty and well-cooked to the desired degree. It was also still very juicy and delicious. The service staff were there immediately when we needed anything and were able to help quickly. Very good and definitely worth a visit.

First, the positive: The service colleagues were very friendly, helpful, and constantly concerned about the well-being of the guests!!!! The ambiance was perfect... Now, the food... The sirloin steak was ordered medium-well, was perfectly cooked on one side and completely dry and cooked on the other. I had the fillet medallions with fresh seasonal vegetables and potato gratin. The meat was perfect and tasted absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, I had a seat overlooking the kitchen and had to watch the "fresh seasonal vegetables" being tipped out of the foil bag onto my plate. The potato gratin was also heated in a plastic tray and was nothing like a gratin. A real shame for the price of €25...😢😢😢

Today at lunchtime (around 3:30 p.m.) my wife and I were unexpectedly treated very badly by a waiter of southern European descent with a full black beard. His behavior was so bad I felt like I was at a cheap bazaar somewhere in Morocco!!! Completely disrespectful and intrusive!!! He was extremely rude, disrespectful and we even felt threatened by him!!! My wife turned to the other waitress and asked to change seats... and this waitress was completely different to the guy with the full beard, she was very nice, friendly and polite!!! The food was delicious and freshly prepared - as always at Blockhaus - but waiters like this guy with the full beard should leave this workplace - he's giving Nuremberg's BlockHouse a very bad image and reputation!!! We've never experienced anything like it in Frankfurt am Main!!! We go there every week and everything is always OK!!! But Nuremberg's Block House gave us a bad rating!!!

We used to be regular customers. Since around February 2025, the staff has been ignoring new customers, empty glasses, and empty plates. You wait forever for the menu (unfortunately, there isn't much new anyway), then forever to be allowed to order. The food sometimes arrives lukewarm. The order arrives on the table without eye contact or a "Bon appétit." The table is cleared without asking if it's okay. Empty wine glasses are completely ignored. Paying takes forever, and you almost have to be pushy to get your money back. When you confront the waiter about the oversights, you only get blank stares. The perpetually chilled red wine is outrageous. Well, dear Mr. Block, if YOU want to drink red wine like that, that's your fault. Why do we, as customers, have to drink cold red wine at great expense? At least the wine didn't turn sour, judging by the faces some of the staff are making.

It's just Nuremberg and not Hamburg.

You can't complain about the food (lunchtime lunch for €14.90). Good taste and a fair price. BUT You ordered a Coke (according to the menu, 0.3 l for €3.70) and then, without asking, you were given a 0.5 l Coke for €5.60 – the "large" Coke isn't even on the menu. Sorry, but that's unacceptable and reeks of a rip-off! So, unfortunately, only one star. I was really annoyed.

The food wasn't anything special, but the price was quite reasonable. We didn't get our menus for ten minutes, even though the restaurant was almost empty. After ordering, we had to wait more than thirty minutes for our food. There were four of us. I don't recommend this restaurant.

We arrived at 21:10, which is quite late - we know. But please don't seat us if you can't provide proper service. We were pushed to make a decision on our order, and it then arrived at lightning speed. They just dropped the plates for the main course after we took one bite of the starter. One of the servers even held a bowl of mushrooms in front of my partners face until she took it from the server. We didn't feel welcome or comfortable. The food was fine.

The restaurant is known for its excellent steaks – cooked to perfection, with great quality and reliable service. But what we particularly love: The vegetarian dishes are also really good! You wouldn't necessarily expect that from a steakhouse – all the more pleasant the surprise. Whether with family, as a couple, or with friends – the ambiance is pleasant, the service always attentive and friendly. Absolutely fair value for money. Our conclusion: A really good address in Nuremberg not only for meat lovers, but also for vegetarians. We'd happily go back!

A very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We were there for a birthday party, and the entire service staff and a chef came to our table with a large sparkler and sang "Happy Birthday" with us, so the whole restaurant got animated and sang along. It was fantastic. The food was delicious. The prices are expensive, but it's a stake house, so that's to be expected. However, the food was worth it; it was delicious. The children also received a gift (a blockhouse table tennis bat and ball), and they were delighted. I can highly recommend it.

You feel very comfortable here. The only thing that bothers me is the cigarette smoke. The staff is quick, courteous, and you feel welcome as a guest. The food is beyond perfect.

The best steak I've ever had the pleasure of tasting, medium rare, was cooked to perfection in my opinion. The staff is also really great at customer service. I think the price is absolutely reasonable. I paid around €40 for a soup, a steak, and two drinks (mineral water + apple spritzer), and I think I received good service. The location is also very nice; the outdoor area offers a lovely view of the market square. I would come back here immediately if I had the chance and can highly recommend a visit to anyone.

We went to Blockhaus Steak in Nuremberg with the whole family – and it was simply fantastic! 🥩✨ The food was incredibly delicious, the steaks were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were also absolutely delicious. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the great service: The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and incredibly welcoming – you immediately felt welcome. The Blockhaus is also highly recommended for families with children. Everything is child-friendly, and as a special highlight, our children were able to discover a gift box after dinner – full of little surprises from which they could choose many things. A thoughtful detail that made the children's eyes light up! 😊🎁 We will definitely be back – a truly feel-good restaurant with top quality and a lot of heart!

I didn't like it. The soup portion is like it's for my cat. If necessary, write on the menu that a regular portion is 3-4 bowls. The salad is incomprehensible. For some reason, the waitress decided for me that the change shouldn't be returned.

Typical good log cabin standards – the New York cheeseburger was truly outstanding and a real highlight in terms of taste. The seating here is very comfortable, overlooking the main market, which gives the meal a lovely, urban flair. The service was generally very reserved – almost unobtrusive. While the food and drinks were served correctly and cleared away later, the human attention was somewhat lacking. No ketchup with the fries, no one asked if everything was okay during the meal – and other guests were noticeably waiting a long time for their menus. Not unfriendly, but simply too distant to feel truly cared for. Nevertheless: If you're looking for solid food with a harmonious ambiance, this is a good place to stop. Four stars for food, location, and atmosphere – although the service could be improved.

In contrast to Stuttgart (we are regular here), Augsburg, Berlin branches, the Nuremberg branch needs management attention to live up to Block House standard. Our food was burned and unfresh. Service was in our case unfriendly.

First of all, today it wasn't an American salad, but just a few leaves with two small, overcooked, tasteless turkey strips. For €14 we can get one ten times better anywhere, but it was tasteless and not enough! Then there was no cutlery, and we had to call the waiter otherwise we would have eaten with our fingers! Then we also had to pay for the food and look for someone to serve us, even though the place was almost empty! Shame on you, we won't be coming back!!!

A truly fantastic restaurant. For my birthday, I wanted to have a steak dinner and decided to go to the Block House with my family. The hospitality was truly incredible; all the waitresses were incredibly friendly and even sang me a little song; I've never experienced such good service. The food was truly amazing. I had the T-bone steak, which I requested was grilled medium-rare. The salad alone was delicious, but the steak completely exceeded my expectations. Tender, juicy, and full of grilled flavors. Of course, it came at a price, but it was still an experience in itself. I highly recommend the restaurant! Truly wonderful.

The Nuremberg branch of the steakhouse chain is located right on the main market square. The food (rump steak with fries) was delicious, and the meat was cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. Good value for money.

I was there with my father for his birthday, and it was a truly wonderful evening. The steaks were perfect, and the waiters were always there to help with any questions. When the waiters realized it was my father's birthday, they brought out a sparkler and sang along. We were given a glass of Prosecco, and the waiters took a photo of us, which we then received in an envelope with birthday wishes and signatures from the waiters present. It was a very kind gesture, and we were very happy about it. Many thanks to the entire team for the wonderful evening.

Chaotic is understated, the reception very heartless, no comparison to other branches. We had to wait 15 minutes for drinks. When the food finally arrived, the steak was medium rare, but not medium. When we complained, they took it away and brought it back well done. Then the coleslow garnish was missing, and the fries were cold. That's a shame, and they advertised a new steak, and the old one came back with half of it. On top of that, my food was cold by then. There was no apology or anything else. The bill was paid and we left. P.S.: We had to endure some mockery from the table next to us. Attempt two on May 23, 2025 Unfortunately, things aren't going well here. Ordered two goulash soups plus extra bread and potato gratin. Soups arrived, but unfortunately, bread and gratin weren't. After the soup was cold, the side dishes arrived (cold). And one plate was dirty.

The person named Gima in the service was a little rude, when the meat came to the table we asked for a new knife but he wanted us to use the previous knife. Although I said medium cooked, the meat was undercooked. Not good ar all!

We were there yesterday. We ordered 2 ribeye mastercuts, without potatoes, but with 2 pan-fried vegetables, 2 shandy (shandy) beer, 1 passion fruit spritzer, and 1 cola. We got 2 steaks with potatoes, 2 500ml shandy, instead of the 0.33ml shandy/Alsterwasser (shandy) as advertised on the menu, unless I remembered that wrong. The potatoes were removed. Salad and dressing -> first-class taste, various varieties, fresh, very well prepared. 5 stars Pan-fried vegetables also OK 3 stars Garlic bread also OK 2 stars One steak was OK 2 stars The other was cooked medium, rather rare. It was re-cooked. But the steak consisted of many small pieces of meat surrounded by strong tendons, which resembled a shin rather than a prime rib! I had at least 1/4 of the cut, which was anything but a) master cut and b) really ribeye? To make up for the wait, I received bruschetta. The bill was around 92 euros. The Block House in Munich does better. Or El Gaucho, or Little London, or the Steakhouse in Aschheim :) They're simply worlds apart. I was very disappointed with the quality and rarely write negative posts; this might be my second negative post. It's a real shame... maybe it was just a bad turn out for us, and no, we won't be coming back a second time.

There were two of us, we first waited 10 minutes for our menu and then another 30 minutes just for drinks. A starter then quickly combed a salad for our main course and we had to wait 40 minutes for 40 minutes, whereupon we said that we wanted to go and want to pay for starter and our drinks, the waitress still discussed with us that we have not been there for more than an hour. She also did not apologize even though people who came after us were served earlier and had already eaten their food when we got the salad. This is an outrage. Another waiter just walked and gave the appearance of working, looked at us several times but never came to us.

Disappointing – not recommended I ordered a steak medium and received an almost raw, bloody piece of meat. There was hardly any response to my complaint - the service was unfriendly and not very helpful. The ambience also left something to be desired: the people sitting next to us were loud and disruptive, without the staff intervening. For the level offered, the prices and effort are definitely not justified. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store.

German restaurant chain, despite being a steakhouse we wanted something light and I had a salad. Considering that it is located in the main square of Nuremberg the prices are excellent, friendly service, we even met an Italian waiter. Advised.

We were welcomed very kindly. An (Italian) waiter explained to us all the dishes and the pairings with each other and with the beer. Excellent soups (the asparagus cream is top) but the meat is superb! Average prices of €45 and there were two of us!

I ordered the New York cheeseburger and it wasn't juicy but dry, no burger sauce, the oven-fresh BLOCK HOUSE bread wasn't delivered, instead of the potato gratin I ordered, fries were delivered. In the end I had baked minced meat with cheese and coleslaw garnish.

Unfortunately not as good as you're used to. But very expensive, I recommend some others in the area for the same price but they were a lot better. As steak lovers, we had a steak every night of the week, testing different restaurants. Unfortunately, this one is at the bottom of the list. I'm sorry, and the friendly staff don't make the food any better. The bread and potatoes, however, were very good. Service etc full stars. The 3 stars for the food were due to the bread and potatoes, otherwise I would give a maximum of 2 stars.

We were guests in Nuremberg today. Compared to Berlin's Theodor Heuss Platz, we were a little disappointed. The steak was medium well rather than medium. The potato peel was too hard and not edible. Too bad. The Mrs rump steak had a thick edge of fat. The salad was okay.
