Da non andarci mai da questi m... La sera ci hanno cacciato in malo modo perchè era pieno ,poi il giorno dopo a mezzogiorno abbiamo telefonato parliamo perfettamente il tedesco e ci hanno detto di venire senza problemi ma una volta arrivati li ci hanno chiesto il nome della prenotazione che noi ovviamente non avevamo e due signorine acide come l aceto ci hanno mandato via senza nessun scrupolo. Con tutti i posti che ci sono li vicino ottimi e accoglienti non andate da questo,che ha 4 tavolini in croce sempre pieni.

Very cozy environment for dinner. You can hang out jackets on the wall. They have indoor outdoor seating outside and in the yard behind. Service is good. Ladies are friendly. Food is awesome! Big servings. Schnitzels sauce is so light and refreshing we guessed it’s blended with green apple too! Veal Goulash is Very nice we forgot to take photo unfortunately. Pork knuckle is crispy tasty with horseradish n sauerkrauts. Menu is in english n german so it is way easier to order. Make sure u get a reservation else the lady will bring u to her house instead😂

It's delicious haha. It's delicious. If you bite Hak Se-eun's tongue, it'll be soggy. The beer is delicious.

*Edited* Apologize to the neighboring restaurant that I left my review originally there - I confused the two restaurants as they are just next to each other. I already deleted my review on the other restaurant. The below incident happened in this restaurant. I have to leave this review here for whomever planning to go to this restaurant - please be aware of your belongings! My purse got STOLEN in the garden. I put my purse next to me and was talking to my friends the whole time. When I was leaving, the purse was just gone. We stayed until 11 pm so there was no one in the garden other than us. I had all my IDs, credit cards and keys in my purse. I was horrified and blocked all my cards right away. I tried to communicate with the staff there but they literally didn’t care. Went to the police next day and they promised to send someone to this restaurant (they didn’t). I called the restaurant again and they told me they found my purse in the garden under the tree - the purse was open and all the cash were gone. The thief didn’t take any foreign coins I had in my purse so he must have had enough time to go through my purse, and have access to the yard of this restaurant. I have all the records at police of what I stated above.

We were here before a football game. We didn't have a reservation, but we still immediately found a place outside in the beer garden. The staff was super friendly. The Eppelwoi was very tasty and the food was also great. I had the Scheufele. Highly recommended!

Atschel is real Frankfurt cuisine - simple and unfussy, e.g. schnitzel with fried potatoes and the famous green sauce. Definitely try it - it tastes very tasty. In summer you can also sit comfortably outside and enjoy the wines from Hesse.

Great regular German/Frankfurt food. Really solid Schnitzel.

The food was amazing! It was very busy and the staff was so kind to help us get a table in a very crowded restaurant. The portions are large and my leftovers were as good the second time around.

Unfortunately we were not served that day. At first we received a nice welcome but unfortunately nothing more. We left after 20 minutes of being ignored. From a subjective point of view, the wait staff seemed overwhelmed and repeatedly got involved in discussions with their colleagues, to the detriment of the customers. Too bad! The quality of the food cannot be assessed accordingly.

Authentic German food and drink. Had multiple plates of different sausages plus a pork rib that was more like a pork chop. Service was great. Beer was awesome. Was offered a dessert drink of brandy with fruit (mix between apple and apricot) - was amazing.

Green sauce and schnitzel were incredible, as was the apple brandy. Staff was enthusiastic and welcoming.

We missed our flight back to home and being from out of country we walked into a packed restaurant not realizing we should have made reservations. They were extremely nice and accommodating which made our bad day so much better. The food was fantastic and turned my fiancés birthday around. Thank you!

Mediocre taste. Not great service. We ordered 2 applewine, got 1, tried to charge us for 2. It is what it is.

We were there on a day when there were a lot of trade fair guests there, so a lot of effort was made. It wasn't easy for the staff to keep track. It's a clocky restaurant with Frankfurt charm.

Very nice, pleasant atmosphere in an old-fashioned Frankfurt inn. Food very tasty and recommended🤩 Depending on the capacity, the waiting time is unfortunately a little longer.

I don't know much about Frankfurt, so my statement should be treated with caution, but I think Atschel is a typical Frankfurt location. Here you can get green sauce, delicious roast pork and apple cider. I was here on a Monday evening and it was packed and loud (from conversations), which for me is part of a decent pub. The staff were very friendly (they even let me charge my iPhone) and I felt well looked after!

The food was very tasty, but the cider was one of the worst I've ever drunk. When we pointed out to the waitress that you tend to get vinegar here, we were told that guests had already mentioned it several times (this week). That's why we unfortunately left the restaurant early after a drink. Deliberately serving bad cider is actually a disgrace...

Schnitzel was outstanding! We had the Schnitzel-Krüstchen and the Frankfurter Schnitzel, dunkelbier, and then of course the Apfel Strudel. Highly recommended.

Our reservation for 8 people was canceled by mistake. After calling, it was confirmed that everything was OK. When we arrived we were given the worst table outside of the actual dining room. An imposition. Staff unfortunately unable to correct the situation, which would have been possible by combining half-occupied tables. We often take international guests to Sachsenhausen and this restaurant was on the program for the last time.

Unsere Reservierung für 8 Personen wurde 30 Minuten vorher fälschlicherweise gecancelt. Nach Anruf wurde bestätigt, dass doch alles OK. Angekommen wurde uns der schlechteste Tisch ausserhalb der eigentlichen Gaststube gegeben. Eine Zumutung. Personal leider unfähig, die Situation zu korrigieren, was durch Zusammenlegung halb besetzter Tische möglich gewesen wäre. Wir führen oft internationale Gäste nach Sachsenhausen und diese Gaststätte war nun das letzte Mal im Programm.

There was a butcher near my old place of work that offered a “schnitzel the size of an AB lid”. This also applies to the Jägerschnitzel with spaetzle in the Atschel. You won't be disappointed in terms of taste either, and there's also very nice service that could be just a little quicker. Inside and outside there is the ambience of a typical Äbbelwoi pub, with a little touch of chic but still without compromising on cosiness. If you are in Sachsenhausen and are looking for something delicious to eat and don't want to indulge in the usual subdued, rugged hustle and bustle of a typical Frankfurt restaurant, then Atschel is in more than good hands.

It was a popular restaurant and quite crowded. I think it was because it was crowded, but it took a while (about 30 minutes) for the food to be served. In addition to the schnitzel, I also recommend the onion soup.

It is probably one of the oldest Äpplewoi restaurants in Frankfurt. Located in Sachsenhausen. Food and drink ok (tasty/good portions). It was full and the service staff seemed completely overwhelmed (it took forever to place the order and for the food to arrive). Nevertheless, it is recommended, maybe a little faster the next time

Last night in Frankfurt and we wanted one last taste of Germany (after visiting the Porsche museum in Stuttgart!!!) before heading back to the Big Apple 🍎. "Atschel" was open late and we were able to get schweinshaxe, veal schnitzel, braised pork cheeks and gallons of beer on tap before wrapping up a great Automechanika Frankfurt 2024. Definitely stop here for some authentic local goodness. Warm hospitality from the entire staff and a complimentary brandy on our way out!

Okay! This has to be one of the best experiences I had for authentic food in Frankfurt. Obviously I ate authentic German pork belly, ribs, blood and liver sausages served with mash and horseradish. It was complimented with the traditional apple wine offered at this place. Although I didn't plan to eat this particular dish, I ultimately ended up eating this. This was of course the recommendation of the restaurant and the people working there when I explained to them that I would love to taste. It tasted great and had the richness and tenderness of nicely cooked meat. If you are from outside Germany then I definitely recommend you to go and try out the authentic German food this place has to offer.

I was disappointed 1. because we waited 1 hour just to get the menu even though the restaurant was not very full. 2. The dishes were ok but not amazing 3. Our hands were forced for the tips without asking us if it went well.

German local restaurant. After work hours, a large number of locals suddenly flocked in. Passers-by I didn’t know sat at the door drinking beer. I recommend the must-order fried pork chops and German pork knuckles. The pork knuckles are quite crispy and the sauerkraut that goes with it is also delicious, but it is recommended for those with gout. The patient should not touch this sauerkraut. Although the fried pork cutlet is delicious, it is not amazing. The portion is very large. If two people order these two dishes, they will not be able to finish it if they are not very hungry. In addition, I ordered the dark beer recommended by the clerk. It was very refreshing and highly recommended. The locals seem to prefer a glass of cider, which is brewed by the restaurant. It happened to be the football season when we arrived. The locals who were dining were wearing supporting team uniforms and cheering. The atmosphere was really good, and there was an open-air restaurant. You can choose your seats. I never imagined that a restaurant can hold so many memories! It is a recommended restaurant! We really enjoyed the knuckles and the traditional Frankfurt style fried pork! The apple wine was good! The onion soup was tasty but a bit salty for us. We went a bit late after regular dinner time on Sunday, and it was not too crowded. However the parking was really limited around this area, it cost almost 30 minutes to just find/wait for a place to park.

Best night out in a long time. Food was fantastic!

The food was delicious. Portions are very big and we only made it through halfof our dishes. We didn't make reservations and were able to be seated right away. It definitely seems like the outside area books up, so make a reservation if you're set on eating outside. The employees were very kind and even opened the big window behind us since we must have looked hot. We appreciated them for asking!

Food was fine, we had to leave after 1 hour from our place that we had reviewed for two hours. Would have liked to stay and have a drink, but had to sit at the table with other people.

Correct restaurant next to Alt Sachsenhausen. Nice garden, well-kept rustic interior. Traditional German / Frankfurt dishes and Tsges menu. Very good prices for the quality offered. Attentive service. There is still an excellent sirloin steak with side dishes in Frankfurt for less than 25 €!))...............

Typical Äppelwoik pub in Alt Sachsenhausen, with tourists. The food is so delicious, prices are okay and the staff is very nice, even though they are busy.

Everything about our visit was five star greatness, from the dark beer to the wine to the Weiner schnitzel to the spaetzle to the Frankfurt green sauce. Wow. The patio out back was full on a hot night so we had to eat indoors but that hardly mattered given the fine service and quality of the food. If you’re in Frankfurt, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a totally enjoyable experience.

Great restaurant, friendly service and very tasty food.

Both the apfelwein and schnitzel were really well done and did well to revive my appetite after a 12 hour flight.

The food is really outstanding, but there is room for improvement when it comes to service.

You can always trust the portion there if you are very hungry, and what I like very much is that they also have a smaller schnitzel portion (but with cheese on top) for those who doesn’t want to eat that much meat. Their green sauce is also very tasty (although still not the best in town) They also have a nice backyard for outdoor seating. I definitely recommend this place for tourists as well as the locals.

I sat down here for a nice bit of bread and savory spreads and an Apfelwein. It was quite busy, so the servers were a bit confused and all over the shop, but I got a nice spot in the garden. I made some weird requests to modify my order and they were really forthcoming in accommodating me. I even asked for more bread and asked them to charge me for it, and they refused, bringing it to me for free instead! The food itself was fantastic. I fully recommend the Spundekäs, it is a magnificent thing to experience!

Good food but unfortunately such poor treatment by the staff. Ordered drinks that were forgotten which is completely understandable that you forget sometimes but when we were going to pay we were called stupid and treated in an unacceptable way.

Gemütliche Apfelweinwirtschaft in Sachsenhausen mit ausgezeichnetem Essen, freundlichem Service und köstlichem Apfelwein. Der Tafelspitz mit Bratkartoffeln und grüne Soße ist der beste, den ich in Frankfurt gegessen habe. Auch andere Gerichte wie Lammbraten, Frankfurter Schnitzel, Spannferkel sind sehr zu empfehlen. Hier kocht man mit Leib und Seele, die regionalen Zutaten werden zu köstlichen, äußerst schmackhaften Gerichten zubereitet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist TOP, meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Actually everything was perfect, but the waiter's oriental perfume fogged up the entire dining room and also the food. We left quite quickly. Too bad!

I was a little worried about the discrimination issues mentioned in the one-star reviews, but everything turned out to be amazing! The staff were super friendly and nice, and the food was excellent. The wait for the main courses was a bit long, but it was totally worth it in the end. I’ll definitely recommend this place to our friends and other tourists from Asia.

If you have a quick stopover in Frankfurt, I highly recommend it. The Schweinhaxen here is really delicious. The price is reasonable and the beer is, needless to say, delicious. I don't remember the other menu items, but there wasn't a single one that wasn't delicious. I really recommend it!! That sauce is really delicious

If you are looking for typical German food, this is the perfect place. The dishes are very well served and the service is spectacular. The outdoor space is "shared", so we had to sit at a table with other people.

Went to Atschel for the first time on Monday. What can I say, everything was fine. Super young, nice team, we were given seats in the cozy garden. Food typically Frankfurter, rustic, good portions and super tasty. I will come back.

For an hour we stayed patient and waited; giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were having a busy night. That was until we noticed the blatant differential treatment. For instance, the waiter would ask the other tables (french couple speaking english too) how’s the food etc but pretty much ignored us. Maybe because we looked asian and they weren’t sure if we could speak english but look, we didn’t need the chit chat - we just wanted to be served our food. We had to chase them for our food after more than an hour and they didn’t even serve us the right items. The schnitzel tasted hastily cooked, oily and not well seasoned. This isn’t our first rodeo in Germany and we know that what we had was downright bad. At the end of meal, they tried to charge us for the food that didn’t come. Luckily we checked the bill. They charged us for a schnitzel, additional green sauce and a roasted pork dish even though we only received the 2 plates of oily awful schnitzels. Couldn’t be bothered to try explaining or arguing so we just paid and left. What a pity because we were so excited for the food and even took an uber all the way down to try the food. Awful service, sloppy food and overall horrible experience. P.S. don’t blame it on miscommunication because we are singaporean (we are native english-speakers) and even made sure to code-switch so that we spoke comprehensible english. The locals and non-asian tourists seemed to be enjoying though so…take that as you will 🤷‍♀️ Thank you for reading my heartfelt review.

Typical and traditional apple wine bar in the middle of Old Saxony. Delicious food, good apples and lovely service.

To repeat without a doubt. Fast service, exquisite food. Handkäse mit Musik, cheese in a small saucepan with water and pieces of sweet onion eaten on bread with butter, snitzel mit grünen Sauce. They were very tender breaded filets with a cheesy and spiced sauce that seemed to me like some kind of Philadelphia cheese with crushed cucumber. It was very good. Apfelwein must be ordered pure, otherwise it is usually mixed with sparkling water.

We got a place for two without a reservation. Service staff are all really very nice. The store was full! Food was super tasty and great value for money. The cashing process was a bit confusing because there were drinks on our bill that we didn't have, but after a short discussion with the waiter, the problem was quickly resolved.
