The Mosebach in Frankfurt is a wonderful traditional cider bar in Sandweg. The charming interior design and family service create a cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent - both the schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarrn were completely convincing. The price-performance ratio is also great and the drink prices are very fair. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was super tasty and the portions were large enough to satisfy the hunger. The service was also very friendly and not fake.

Unfortunately I have to downgrade my reviews from 5 stars to 1 star because the Mosebach has deteriorated a lot. We were there last Thursday. Service was not friendly and parts of the order were forgotten. Shortly before 8 p.m. - we had just received the second round of our drinks - we were informed that we had to leave because new guests were already waiting. We thought that timeslots would be a thing of the past after the Corona crisis. This is not the case here and every festive pre-Christmas meal becomes a nuisance. The food was no longer of the same quality as it was a few months ago. Furthermore, we unfortunately sat near the toilets and the smell was very unpleasant. We're definitely not coming back. Tip: Tavern in Ostend. Great ambience, very tasty food and outstanding service!

A very nice typical Frankfurt restaurant, which serves generous portions in a typical atmosphere. The schitzels are excellent - special mention for the 7 herb “green sauce” - as well as the gebackener Handkase. A perfect place to discover local gastronomy!

Mosebach really convinces me across the board. Super nice service, delicious starter salad, and both the Frankfurter Schnitzel and the wild boar sausages were super tasty. Also really sensational fried potatoes and an excellent green sauce! The only drawback was that the starter salad came with the main course, otherwise everything was really great. And in terms of price: you could say the prices are relatively high, but the portions are really great! Overall really great, sensational! And: card payment possible!

Das Essen war gut und schmackhaft und auch von der Menge angemessen (Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln). Die Bedienung war relativ unfreundlich, unflexibel (beispielsweise bei der Frage nach einem Wechsel der Beilage) und hat im Nachhinein beim Bezahlen mehrfach nach Trinkgeld gefragt, obwohl eindeutig klar war, dass kein Trinkgeld gewünscht war.

Mit Freundinnen war ein gemütlicher Abend geplant. Wir hatten uns relativ spontan entschieden und somit auch nichts reserviert. Ich kam als erste im Biergarten an und schilderte die Situation und meinte auch, wir würden nicht so lange bleiben. Der zuständige Herr wies mir dann einen Platz zu, war aber nicht besonders freundlich und es gab auch die ein oder andere "unsensible" Bemerkung, z. B. als wir unsere Bestellung aufgaben. Flapsige Kommentare brauche ich da nicht, es war auch nicht einfach nur humorvoll, sondern ziemlich ruppig und überheblich. Das Essen selbst war sehr gut, ich hatte die Semmelknödel (schmeckten wie hausgemacht) mit Champignons, meine Begleiterinnen Rösti und Schnitzel mit grüner Soße, was ihnen auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Nachdem wir mit dem Essen fertig waren, saßen wir noch eine Weile und wurden dann ziemlich unsanft gebeten, zu gehen, hätten wir gut verstanden, wenn die "Hütte" voll gewesen wäre, das war aber nicht der Fall. Da ich jedoch bei Eintreffen angekündigt hatte, wir bleiben nicht so lange, will ich darüber auch nicht zu sehr meckern. Hier schrieb auch jemand, den rauen Ton in Apfelweinwirtschaften sei er ja gewohnt. Ich frage mich, ob dieser noch zeitgemäß ist. Ich brauche keine übermäßige "Betüttelung" aber so schroff muss es auch nicht sein. Fazit: Küche sehr gut und schmackhaft, Umgang des Personals mit den Gästen hat Luft nach oben ....

Typical traditional restaurant with a large backyard in summer. Really neighborhood atmosphere. Food is good, large portions for Frankfurt, like in the country and tastes the same. Simple ambience, nothing fancy. The Wienerschnitzel was praised at the table. My fillet on tagliatelle was very tender. Came unasked as medium rare, which suited me very well, but perhaps not for every guest. Kaiserschmarrn for those who are still hungry fills everyone up. In terms of calories, it is suitable for extreme athletes. If you're looking for authentic Frankfurt, this is the place for you. Prices reasonable. Nothing wrong. Recommended. Would love to come back. Tucked away near the beautiful Mural.

Great shop, great food, super nice employees

We (2 people) came here at 9:30 pm (opening hours are until 11 pm) for just a drink and were greeted in a very unfriendly way. I don't care about the typical unfriendliness in Frankfurt beer gardens or restaurants. I'm a customer, I bring money, and if they would have said 'no, we're closing earlier tonight due to the bad weather' I would totally have accepted that. However, we ended up sitting inside and were not offered neither a menu nor asked what we would like to have. The inside area was completely empty, we were seated at a 10-person-table and at 10:15 pm another group (comprising 7 people) arrived. And they were seated at our same table for the convenience of the barkeeper... Haha, ridiculous. But we were all cool with it. Again, unfriendly treatment par excellence!

We have enjoyed coming here for years, partly because we live nearby and the schnitzels were legendary. However, our experience yesterday was partly unpleasant. We didn't feel welcome, even the greeting was rather reluctant (there were two of us and we hadn't made a reservation). The service, which I would previously have described as "straightforward", is now downright rude. The fact that everyone is in a hurry and that you don't get looked at, let alone see a friendly face - it's a shame, but oh well. But yesterday, the waiter with glasses that has been mentioned here quite often... of course it's tight and when you're cashing out you come closer to the table - but at the next table you get the other side of it shoved in your face for minutes without a simple "sorry". you have to be careful to avoid the extended elbow - no, honestly not. The food has also become very expensive, a Hessen schnitzel of veal for 27 (!) euros, a small baked sheep's cheese with a side salad for 15.90 - that leaves me with the impression that inflation has to pay for the overpriced prices. The “icing on the cake” was that the tipping option was more or less ostentatiously pointed out when paying by card. We didn't give one. Soooo sad!

Very tasty… we ate a Viennese style schnitzel and the rack of lamb. If you want to eat delicious German food, you have to come here.

Beautiful hidden backyard with typically honest, good Frankfurt cuisine. The well-known dishes such as Frankfurter Schnitzel etc. are super tasty and large portions. As for the starters, there are a few great creations and variations of the Handkäs. I definitely have to try more again. Fast service also when it comes to Bembel replenishment. Nice atmosphere inside too.

Ein Freund von mir aus Berlin war wieder mal in Frankfurt zu Besuch und wollte typische Spezialitäten essen - also bin ich mit ihm ins Mosebach. Wir hatten nicht reserviert, aber Glück, weil wir recht früh da waren und insofern noch einen Platz bekamen. Service freundlich und schnell, Essen hervorragend - lohnt sich einfach immer wieder, hier her zu gehen.

Probably the best apple wine bar in Frankfurt. The food is worlds better than the competition in Sachsenhausen and also significantly better than in Bornheim. Jägerschnitzel was very tasty with a wonderful homemade sauce. The Handkäs was also a perfect landing. The atmosphere in the courtyard is also very nice.

Very cozy with friendly service. Everything about the food and the drinks on offer is just right. Whether for a quick beer or dinner with a large group.

From the outside, the Mosebach doesn't look very inviting and a bit old-fashioned, but don't let the packaging fool you. A really nice little beer garden awaits you. The food also tastes excellent and the service is a bit rough, as is the case in other cider taverns, but still warm.

War mal gut, Essen nur noch durchschnittlich. Service mies. Sehr patzig und unhöflich. Brot zum Handkäs musste extra bezahlt werden. Man möchte als Gast auch nicht angemault werden wenn man nur einen kleines Glas Wein möchte. Schade, war mal gut. Wieder ein Gast weniger - in der Umgebung gibt es bessere Lokale.

Food good, service leaves a lot to be desired!

If you like or want to try Hessian specialties, this is the right place for you. Handkäs, Äbbelwoi, Grie Soß, Medpelchen...here you can get what your (Hessian) heart desires! Food very tasty, service very friendly. We sat in the "Gaddewirtschaft" - wonderful! I can't say whether this is the best Grie Soß in Frankfurt, but it wasn't the last time we were here.

We celebrated our wedding here and were looked after really well. Nicole and her husband really made a huge effort to give us a nice celebration. The food was delicious and the selection was more than sufficient. All of our guests were full and happy and the service was very attentive to their thirst. I would particularly like to emphasize that we were very nervous about the weather, but the team took our worries away with a plan B and we actually needed and used it. Thank you for this beautiful day and evening.

We like coming here and are aware of the limited space inside. Cozy and cramped but very well solved. The food is always great and the service has responded well even when errors have been made. Every now and then there was even a greeting from the kitchen or the delicious raspberry brandy at the end. We cannot understand the many negative reviews about the service. Maybe it also depends on your own speech: "How it echoes into the forest..." We would be happy to come back and wish the Mosebach continued success as a Frankfurt insider tip.

The service was a catastrophe, didn't respond to requests and asked "What about tips?"(!) a shame. The ambience is very nice.

This restaurant is nothing special for me, the food was okay and so was the service. I would have liked a lemon with the schnitzel. Probably won't come back as I can get better value for the money elsewhere.

Large portions, fair prices, great service, incredibly delicious food... there was even a greeting from the kitchen, a cauliflower soup. This was one of the best cauliflower soups I have ever tasted. Even my husband, who doesn't really like cauliflower, thought they were great.

The Mosebach is now an institution in Frankfurt. Top price/performance ratio, the Handkäs Heaven is a dream and the service is warm and perfect in dealing with the guest. Tip: reserve a table! Parking situation is challenging. Thank you for the culinary delights over the last few years. Please, please keep it up.

Quaint restaurant, a bit small, but comfortably furnished. Had a company party here, service was always attentive, the food was a 10/10, large portions and extra requests were easily fulfilled. It wasn't a problem to get something as a vegan! Here again a big compliment to the service and the kitchen! The dish was fabulous! We were completely satisfied with everything and I would also visit this restaurant privately!

We were invited to a birthday party. Beautiful and personal atmosphere with delicious food and fair prices. I saw that there is also asparagus available during the season, so I definitely have to go there again. But I don't want to wait until asparagus season (it's the beginning of February) because the green sauce is really delicious and so is the Kaiserschmarrn. The schnitzel was huge. From the outside the restaurant looks unremarkable, but that's deceptive. Try it out! Personally, I really like Sandweg because it is not as crowded as Berger Straße and you can find bars like this one more easily

Awesome dinner tonight here. Top-notch service, wonderful atmosphere and the food was outstanding. Had the Rumpsteak, which was one of the best I’ve had in Germany. Five highly recommended stars.

Uriges Restaurant in Frankfurt. Das Ambiente ist genial, das kann ich nicht beschreiben, dass muss man selbst schon gesehen haben. Die Gerichte sind sehr schmackhaft und sehr üppig. Wir sind vier Personen gewesen und haben uns zwei Vorspeisen jeweils zu zweit geteilt. Dann kamen die Hauptgerichte und das nächste Mal werden wir auch diese Teilen, weil wir es nicht geschafft haben. Das Personal erfüllt jeden Wunsch und steht beratend zur Seite. Wir kommen wieder, versprochen.

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier dort gehabt. Ambiente ist rustikal, aber eben passend für Frankfurter Wirtschaften, allerdings leider sehr klein und meines Erachtens zu klein für größere Feiern. Etwas eng und man kann sich kaum bewegen. Service war nett, flott und aufmerksam, gab nichts auszusetzen. Essen war soweit in Ordnung, gab eine Karte mit div. Gerichten zur Auswahl. Natürlich war alles schon vorab zubereitet und deshalb nicht ganz so heiß und frisch. Aber gut. Vielleicht würde ich nochmal vorbeikommen um das normale A la carte zu testen.

Das Mosebach im Sandweg liegt im Herzen von Frankfurt. Authentische hessische Küche, bei der man schmeckt, dass der Koch gerne tut, was er tut. Es gibt eine tolle Getränkekarte mit einer sehr guten Weinauswahl. Im Sommer kann man entspannt im Hof sitzen, der Innenraum ist super gemütlich. Der Service ausnahmslos nett und immer auf Zack! Hier gibt es NICHTS zu meckern und wer in Frankfurt war und das Mosebach nicht besucht hat - hat echt was verpasst!

Lecker Schoppen, lecker Essen, klein und fein mit schönem Sommergarten, wir hatten unsere Wihnatchsfeier dort und es war wirklich sehr sehr schön, ich hatte Hirschgulasch mit Spätzle, der absolute Wahnsinn, ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen und werde auch demnächst privat mit meiner Familie dort essen gehen. PS: super Weinauswah l!!!!!

Ich bin öfters und gerne im Mosebach, das Essen ist immer auf sehr hohem Niveau. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Schokopudding. Der Service ist erstklassig, man fühlt sich jederzeit herzlich willkommen. Ganz große Klasse ! Immer wieder gerne.

Ein toller Abend bei schönem Frankfurter Ambiente im Mosebach! Mein Vater hatte ein Tomahawk Steak, über das er gar nicht weg kam, da so gut war, dass er persönlich in der Küche vorbei geschaut und gelobt hat. Fantastisch! Ebenfalls meine Gänsebrust mit Beilagen, das Schnitzel und das Geschnetzelte waren traumhaft. Der Service ist freundlich und super bemüht. Auch im Winter ein echter Tipp! Im Sommer verspricht der Biergarten im Hinterhof auch immer einen tollen Abend! Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Schöne Location (Innenhof). Service, Ambiente und Essen bekommen 5⭐. Eine 80 Personenfeier wurde professionell gemanagt.

Immer wieder toll. Im Sommer finde ich es draußen wunderbar. Es wird viel zu essen angeboten und es schmeckt mir sehr gut. Das Personal verbreitet gute Laune.

Sehr freundlicher und schneller Service. Abends sollte man allerdings reservieren, einfach vorbeischauen ist mit Glück verbunden. Essen ist gut, Preise sind für die Portionsgrößen mehr als fair. Preis/Leistung also top. Ich war bisher nur im Biergarten, der ist in einem kleinen Hinterhof, sehr schön dekoriert und tatsächlich ein kleines "Naherholungsgebiet" ;)

Das Lokal kann ich nur empfehlen, die Schnitzel schön groß und die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Wenn man mit mehreren Leuten hingehen möchte, dann sollte man lieber buchen.
