Unfortunately the spaetzle was anything but good. Totally overcooked, the cheese had no taste, no trace of seasoning and I looked for the roasted onions in vain. Was very disappointed!

Excellent food and the service was good, now used a couple of times when staying in Munich

After a few months we went back to the Altes Wirt for a larger meeting. Our reservation was the parlor downstairs. This is completely unheated. An old small fan heater is intended to generate a little heat. An absolute no-go in January, your feet are already ice cold after a few minutes. Here a modernization would be e.g. B. Urgently appropriate using wall heating or at least several fan heaters. You don't feel comfortable when it's so cold and fast. Yes, it is an old building, but it can certainly be made more pleasant for the guest using modern, simple means. I limited myself to a small meal and ordered a portion of fries. The fries themselves were normal frozen, there was no salt, but that wouldn't be a problem. But the size of the portion. A soup bowl that wasn't even completely filled and carelessly placed there was billed for €5.80. This is the price for the children's portion of the children's menu. A side dish portion would have been a little cheaper. Even though the service was very friendly, quick and attentive, I am definitely not satisfied with today's visit. Especially since the toilets smelled so unpleasant. A deodorant/air freshener or new fan would certainly be helpful here. All in all very disappointing. We were used to much better things in the past.

Quaint Bavarian inn with a long tradition. The food is decent both in terms of portion size and price. The dishes are generally quite meat-heavy and the duck is often served early. The beer is good and the service is decent.

5 stars because there is simply everything you need here. My phone was almost empty, but the power bank charging station saved my day. And also an incredibly good onion roast. Thank you for this great service!

Good food at normal prices. Friendly service. Good gastronomy and beautiful dining rooms with adjoining rooms and, in summer, a mega beer garden. This is still a real Bavarian economy.

Such a lovely traditional restaurant. We visited here in September as we were staying nearby and it was excellent so we tried it again today. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Excellent food and great value for money.

Beautiful old restaurant with a classic menu. We were there with children and there was a lot going on. The service was nice and quick enough. The food was actually delicious, but when you order meatloaf I don't understand that as getting a meat cake. In addition, the food was lukewarm, almost cold. It's a shame, the taste was good and freshly cooked It was also stupid that the children didn't get their food first. That doesn't make parenting any easier. The criticism of the food was also communicated in a friendly manner, received and felt ignored. OK for large groups, celebrations. It won't be my favorite at first but will get another chance.

We ate goose at Kirchweih and it was very hard and chewy. Cooking time was too short.

If you like sitting in a dark room with stuffed animals and all kinds of antlers that are still covered in cobwebs, this is the right place for you. The food was cold. Schnitzel fried to death, cheese spaetzle watered down and the vegetable came straight from the fridge. Contemporary looks different.

Very tasty food at a reasonable price. We had an Allgäu plate, a Swabian plate, game goulash and a steamed dumpling. And of course Augustiner helles!!!!!

Friendly and humorous old-school service - can still do mental math and remember drink orders without a pad and pen. Variety of different sized, rustic rooms, good for celebrations and events. Classic, not too big menu, more suitable for large appetites than for small ones (tip: a simple cheese sandwich is also plentiful and fills you up). Very nice desserts and a great guest garden.

Entered restaurant and explained that my significant other needed to eat gluten free as she is Celiac. We were told that they had many gluten free options. However after ordering our beer we asked the server about the options. We were told that he “didn’t have time to explain what the options were and that we should know prior to coming to this place” I’ll admit I’m from the USA but this is pretty freaking rude. I’d highly suggest considering other places unless you are ok with subpar service.

A great place to go for Bavarian food. I think the atmosphere with the different rooms is great. Large selection of different dishes and the service was also great. The portions were enough for everyone and it tasted good too. The apfekiachl are particularly recommended as a dessert.

First: Thank you for the great service and the beautiful table setting! We also thought the first grader's gift “Robot and Flutschfinger” was incredibly nice. Thank you! Unfortunately there was a small breakdown with the table-deck-you elevator (keep the button pressed) and 2 of our meals arrived late and then almost cold. Therefore, a star deduction. This can happen on a busy day and we didn't want to send it back again. That would have messed up the kitchen routine.

The guests and the food were really disgusting! The potato toilet was somewhat okay, but the roast pork was really not recommended. The goulash must have been incredibly old and the bread dumpling was inedible. The schnitzel was also old and rancid and the fries tasted like old frying fat... I can't imagine that the regulars get the same food. The service was nice, otherwise it was really a shame. The innkeeper opened his doors to Reich citizens today

Nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. Quaintly designed with different rooms. Large outdoor beer garden The food was very good and sufficient portions. Despite the large number of guests, the food was on the table very quickly. Were really surprised. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. The sausage salad is a disgrace. No more than 15 thin wheels of sausage and that for 10 euros. That doesn't have to be the case. Roast pork very good. Ambience too.

Typical Bavarian inn with a beer garden. Beer is served by Augustiner. They even had enough of the highly coveted non-alcoholic Augustiner! Parking situation is rather difficult on site. However, it can work in the yard because many people don't try it there.

During our visit we were shouted at by a waitress after we asked for a card after waiting for an hour. With the comment that she is not responsible and we should be patient. We would be served if anyone has time. The colleague was then kind enough to serve us, but the quality of the food was also not recommended. All convenience. With such behavior from the employees, we will never visit the Alte Wirt again.

That was really miserable. We were 2 people having lunch. I ordered mixed roast. A mini mini portion of two small pieces of meat arrived. The highlight of this was that it was both neck ridges and not as described on the map. When I complained to the unfriendly waiter. He just said it wasn't like that and dismissed it. It's not possible to be so unfriendly. The meat was old and cold so NOT fresh. Sauce tasted chemically like packerl sauce baaaah. The beer mug was only two-thirds full. My friend ordered a dark Russian and a light Russian was brought. The food there was disgusting. I have rarely eaten so badly and such unfriendly service is unacceptable. The old innkeeper in Obermenzing will never see me again!! Price for the bad product is way too expensive... NOGO

Nice typical beer garden. Good Bavarian food and nice service. However, we had a bad aftertaste: the parking spaces were full, and unfortunately that was the case when we wanted to park in the back yard. Except for a supposed parking lot. My father is in his late 80s and has severe mobility problems, so we were happy to get this nearby parking space at the beer garden. We had barely sat for a few minutes when a bar waiter with a short, corpulent figure asked us in a very unfriendly manner to drive the vehicle away immediately. All the explanations didn't help, so I drove away and then had to park further away. We are often guests at the Altes Wirt, but as a paying guest you don't have to accept such an "announcement". By the way, not a single delivery vehicle arrived at the time we stopped by.

Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined significantly. The three of us had dinner. Nobody really liked it. The salad wasn't particularly fresh and monotonous, and the chanterelles were oily and probably came from the deep fryer. The sauce for roast pork is very salty. The knuckle too dry. Good the Augustinian. But it's not enough for 3 stars. Was our last visit.

I've eaten at the old innkeeper 3 times now, and every time it's the same!!! I can't understand the positive reviews. THIS IS NOT FRESHLY PREPARED!!!!! --- Service is extremely unfriendly and rude, almost rude --- Beer not poured well (max 0.4l) -- The food is mini portions (small roast pork) That was probably a senior portion. The meat was fatty and cold. The duck was cold and not fresh either!!! Fresh roast pork looks different. No recommendation will not go there again. Expensive and poor quality No recommendation!!!

Very nice, old-established Munich restaurant with good food. In summer you can enjoy the seating area in the shady garden. The spareribs are simply amazing!

A very traditional inn that is known beyond the borders of Munich. This is also reflected in the older audience. Even the old landlord is not spared from the current shortage of skilled workers. As a result, the cuisine has become less and less to my liking over the years. Ready-made sauces, ready-made products and constantly rising prices no longer fit together for me. A pity.

Extremely disappointed. Spent the evening before there. Service good, food good and felt super comfortable. We wanted to spend the evening there again and dine. Ordered a large wheat beer and got a 0.5l. When we complained about this we were told that they also had a 0.7l and that everyone would understand something different by big and big. It should be mentioned that we didn't get a 0.7l or 1l but 0.5l.🤦🏻. The beer was exchanged but we lost our appetite with such a condescending and arrogant manner. I didn't like the food, I ate meatballs from the daily menu, they were clearly not fresh, for me my best food clearly comes from the canteen somewhere else at lunchtime and is exactly 70% cheaper and 300% better, that's the only reason we went there to eat because we had a business meeting, otherwise my route leads to the canteen

Loveless service and overwhelmed kitchen (waiting time for Pressack with bread an hour, roast aspic with fried potatoes doesn't deserve the name, ...) and disagreements between the waiters in front of the guests. All in all, a nice beer garden, but that's about it.
