Excellent place, good food and delicious beers... The wheat one is great. El Garzón with a very good disposition. A real pleasure.

The guests and the food were really disgusting! The potato toilet was somewhat okay, but the roast pork was really not recommended. The goulash must have been incredibly old and the bread dumpling was inedible. The schnitzel was also old and rancid and the fries tasted like old frying fat... I can't imagine that the regulars get the same food. The service was nice, otherwise it was really a shame. The innkeeper opened his doors to Reich citizens today

Nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. Quaintly designed with different rooms. Large outdoor beer garden The food was very good and sufficient portions. Despite the large number of guests, the food was on the table very quickly. Were really surprised. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. Typical Bavarian inn with a beer garden. Beer is served by Augustiner. They even had enough of the highly coveted non-alcoholic Augustiner! Parking situation is rather difficult on site. However, it can work in the yard because many people don't try it there.

During our visit we were shouted at by a waitress after we asked for a card after waiting for an hour. With the comment that she is not responsible and we should be patient. We would be served if anyone has time. The colleague was then kind enough to serve us, but the quality of the food was also not recommended. All convenience. With such behavior from the employees, we will never visit the Alte Wirt again.

That was really miserable. We were 2 people having lunch. I ordered mixed roast. A mini mini portion of two small pieces of meat arrived. The highlight of this was that it was both neck ridges and not as described on the map. When I complained to the unfriendly waiter. He just said it wasn't like that and dismissed it. It's not possible to be so unfriendly. The meat was old and cold so NOT fresh. Sauce tasted chemically like packerl sauce baaaah. The beer mug was only two-thirds full. My friend ordered a dark Russian and a light Russian was brought. The food there was disgusting. I have rarely eaten so badly and such unfriendly service is unacceptable. The old innkeeper in Obermenzing will never see me again!! Price for the bad product is way too expensive... NOGO

Nice typical beer garden. Good Bavarian food and nice service. However, we had a bad aftertaste: the parking spaces were full, and unfortunately that was the case when we wanted to park in the back yard. Except for a supposed parking lot. My father is in his late 80s and has severe mobility problems, so we were happy to get this nearby parking space at the beer garden. We had barely sat for a few minutes when a bar waiter with a short, corpulent figure asked us in a very unfriendly manner to drive the vehicle away immediately. All the explanations didn't help, so I drove away and then had to park further away. We are often guests at the Altes Wirt, but as a paying guest you don't have to accept such an "announcement". By the way, not a single delivery vehicle arrived at the time we stopped by.

Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined significantly. The three of us had dinner. Nobody really liked it. The salad wasn't particularly fresh and monotonous, and the chanterelles were oily and probably came from the deep fryer. The sauce for roast pork is very salty. The knuckle too dry. Good the Augustinian. But it's not enough for 3 stars. Was our last visit.

I've eaten at the old innkeeper 3 times now, and every time it's the same!!! I can't understand the positive reviews. THIS IS NOT FRESHLY PREPARED!!!!! --- Service is extremely unfriendly and rude, almost rude --- Beer not poured well (max 0.4l) -- The food is mini portions (small roast pork) That was probably a senior portion. The meat was fatty and cold. The duck was cold and not fresh either!!! Fresh roast pork looks different. No recommendation will not go there again. Expensive and poor quality No recommendation!!!

Very nice, old-established Munich restaurant with good food. In summer you can enjoy the seating area in the shady garden. The spareribs are simply amazing!

A very traditional inn that is known beyond the borders of Munich. This is also reflected in the older audience. Even the old landlord is not spared from the current shortage of skilled workers. As a result, the cuisine has become less and less to my liking over the years. Ready-made sauces, ready-made products and constantly rising prices no longer fit together for me. A pity.

Extremely disappointed. Spent the evening before there. Service good, food good and felt super comfortable. We wanted to spend the evening there again and dine. Ordered a large wheat beer and got a 0.5l. When we complained about this we were told that they also had a 0.7l and that everyone would understand something different by big and big. I didn't like the food, I ate meatballs from the daily menu, they were clearly not fresh, for me my best food clearly comes from the canteen somewhere else at lunchtime and is exactly 70% cheaper and 300% better, that's the only reason we went there to eat because we had a business meeting, otherwise my route leads to the canteen

I had dinner with my girlfriend on Saturday, great food, great service and the staff were, as always, in a good mood and ready to have a joke. Definitely worth a visit.

Loveless service and overwhelmed kitchen (waiting time for Pressack with bread an hour, roast aspic with fried potatoes doesn't deserve the name, ...) and disagreements between the waiters in front of the guests. All in all, a nice beer garden, but that's about it.

Super delicious traditional cuisine and great beer garden! Nice service and absolutely fair prices. Payment in cash or by EC card possible, parking spaces are also available directly opposite the beer garden or in the immediately adjacent streets! The food came very quickly and was of great quality. In addition, ideally the European Championship game between Germany and Hungary was broadcast on a large TV!

The best Bavarian cuisine has been available for years, with dishes that you can hardly find on any other menu, such as veal heart, veal tongue or spleen sausage. In the oldest inn in Munich you can end the day in a cozy, Bavarian style in the beautiful beer garden or start the day on Sundays with a delicious white sausage breakfast. The staff is always very friendly - the service in general has always been top! If larger tour groups do show up, please don't get impatient if it takes a little longer 😊 - starving or even being exhausted is not an option here 😉. Price/performance 👍🏼

We've always really enjoyed staying here. The beer garden is very cozy, the staff and food have always been impeccable. Unfortunately, last Friday I had a completely different experience. When we went to eat in the beer garden in the early evening, there was only one waiter in charge of the outside area. Harsh, extremely unfriendly and, according to his own statements to the guests at the table next to us, wanted to scare people away so that they would have less to do. When we asked him to please be a little friendlier in his tone, we got another stupid comment. The food came relatively quickly, but was also worse than usual. It's a shame, it's always been very nice at the Altes Wirt, now I have to think about whether I really want to go there again with friends.

If you like going to an old Bavarian restaurant, this is the right place for you. It's nice that there are still restaurants like this that really have charm and the food is simply good.

Location is really nice and the service is good too! Food was something between good and ok. Had an onion roast - what really bothered me: if as a restaurant I have to charge 32 for such a dish in order to be profitable, then please have a portion that fills me up. I was there with my parents and there was just enough on each plate. Personally, there wasn't enough side dish for me... €4 for an extra portion of spaetzle? Difficult to digest... A minor point that I complain about in many pubs: Why do the side dishes have to be so soaked in fat?

Despite a reservation, we waited a whole hour for the card. In addition, when asked, he responded in a very unfriendly and aggressive manner. Food was ultimately quite good. Working in Allach at the fire brigade festival, because I was so hungry for asparagus, we went to the beer garden at lunchtime on May 11th and since everything was fine, we went back for the evening on May 17th, which we quickly regretted. The inn was absolutely dirty, thick cobwebs in every corner, the tablecloth was almost dirty. I actually wanted to leave again but we were so hungry. We ordered the Rahm Schnitzel which was very dry. The spaetzle was hard, the sauce was like a soup and last but not least there was a fly in the food. The staff asked us what they should do now. In response to the not so nice request to cancel a meal because they also had high prices, they followed up on it. However, the first visit does not make up for the second. We and all our other colleagues no longer own the restaurant.

Munich's oldest inn since 1417, beautifully and traditionally furnished with a shady beer garden. Mainly regional dishes of excellent quality are served at reasonable prices. Today I had a very tasty veal heart, a dish that you have to look for in Munich. Only the staff could be friendlier, but the Alte Wirt is still highly recommended and is and remains one of my favorite inns! Reservation in advance is advisable.

A pity! Restaurant wonderful. Toilet clean. Service very friendly and quick. Unfortunately, I could hardly eat the veal heart I ordered. It was as hard as solid rubber, almost inedible. I've eaten much better elsewhere.

Amazing food went there with a few friends who are local and the atmosphere was amazing as was the service, the staff are really helpful and once again the food was out of this world would highly recommend

I was always a big fan of the Alte Wirt, as you can see! But on Sunday the limit was full: yes, the prices have become more expensive everywhere, but since when do you need a guide?? You wouldn't have had an onion roast with French fries here before, at least fried potatoes! (in the Blutenburg there is the same with cheese spaetzle) I ordered Kärsspätzle instead of the fries, €4.50 extra charge (admit it, the waiter is not to blame, I didn't listen to him because I thought reordering would be €1) In short, My husband had a tongue-lashing, with a change in the order, really only €1 in this regard, our former favorite restaurant, fun even in winter, good food at any time, has developed back to the time around 2000, when large busloads were fed! The food was good and delivered quite quickly. The service was nice and friendly.

I was in this restaurant 2 times. The first time the service wasn't great, but it was ok. But the second time was a terrible service. The restaurant is great and feels very historic and authentic. It feels like traveling back in time, well protected. However, in this atmosphere you definitely need friendly and helpful waitresses. The waitress we had was just terrible (an old lady), no smile and she treated us like we were beggars. (We only ordered one dish and one dessert with my son) It's really not hard to be a friendly waiter/waitress. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find this in Munich. Sometimes you are treated like in Moscow restaurants, it was a similar style. Excellent historical place with wonderful Bavarian cultural atmosphere, but please improve your service.

Go there often because of solid food at a fair price and the best beer ever, namely Augustiner. Every now and then there is a little problem with the service, but rarely. To recommend!

We had a reservation from around 12:00/12:30, what we didn't know is that on Sunday a reservation is only valid for 2 hours. Orders were placed over the phone followed by coffee. We were informed that the table was booked again from 2 p.m. Two of our guests drove 300 km one way. The friendly waitress tried to help us. We had a discussion with the receptionist who showed us the reservation book and SHE said that's what it said inside and there was no other table available. She said she couldn't help it and she also mentioned that she was only there on Sundays. She was annoyed. After going back and forth with the lady and the book, the friendly waitress found a way, but our good mood with the really great food was gone and we were very disappointed. D.B.

Unfortunately, it's more about fast and a lot than about taste and quality, some dishes taste very good. But others are almost inedible. Liver "sour". The portion was huge, unfortunately sourly sour. As if vinegar essence was used here. Sorry, I don't want any coffee machine descaler on my plate, there are many good types of vinegar. Why something like that? no love on a plate! Unfortunately, it is also not possible for seniors to order portions from the daily menu. You should think about that. Otherwise you should clean it thoroughly and remove the cobwebs everywhere. .................. On Communion Sunday we waited almost 2 hours for food. The kitchen was totally overwhelmed. Something like that shouldn't happen. Maybe you should work with a small card on days like this! Before every guest rightly complains. We've had enough for now.

Unfortunately, the four of us couldn't eat together. The first two meals were on the table after 10 minutes, the other two came 20 minutes after the first two meals. When we pointed this out to the waitress while paying, we were told that it wasn't possible here. It's a shame we felt fed up and the table was free for the next guests.

This restaurant needs to be renovated a long time ago. Toilet flushes don't work. There is hardly any space for the rollator. The woman at reception was so unfriendly 9.3.24. Serving staff was very friendly.

Very chic old innkeeper with super delicious food. This was my third visit and I will definitely come again. They have everything from schnitzel to beef tongue, beef hearts, pork knuckles... I have to say that everything I've eaten so far has been cooked to perfection and seasoned so perfectly

Food OK and on the table quickly. We used to eat there often. But since January 2024, all meals have become more expensive by up to 3 euros due to the VAT increase. But the bad thing is that the salad has now been eliminated from almost all dishes without replacement. This must be ordered separately for 3 euros. Now a gypsy schnitzel costs 18.90 Personally, I think salad 21.90 is overkill. In the other local places the prices have also been raised by around 1-2 euros, but there you can at least get a salad with it, and at least it's bigger than what I had to pay extra for 3 euros at the old one. There is definitely room for improvement here. We've been going to family functions lately to eat again elsewhere.

We go out to eat with 11 people every 2 months and ended up here and were not disappointed. You should definitely make a reservation here. We tried the card completely. Be it soup, main courses, desserts, salads, drinks. All dishes are more than sumptuous and all very tasty. The service is very attentive. Conclusion: Price / performance fits and is also justified. Nice selection of dishes. Food was on the table quickly, portions were exactly the “right” size for me, really tasty. Parking spaces in front of the door, but these are full at 12 p.m. because word has gotten around about the quality here.
