This wasn't our first time there for lunch, and nothing was left to be desired. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was always delicious and plentiful. The prices are absolutely reasonable, too. And upon request, I even got an anniversary tankard for a very small extra charge! Thank you very much, and we'll definitely be back.

Worst food in Ramsau. Roast pork without a crispy crust. Coleslaw sour. Gravy watery. Bread dumplings supermarket quality.

Waited 45 minutes for drinks. The bar wasn't full. Then only two of the four ordered drinks arrived.

Disdainful, discriminatory, and vulgar behavior by the manager and employees, especially an aggressive bearded man who shouted intruder. They wouldn't let us pay by card. They only accept cash. When we asked for the restaurant's rules regarding card payments, the manager said it was prohibited on the menu in German. They were unprofessional and extremely rude. It's clear they don't know how to treat foreign customers. Even the disgusting bearded employee, when we left, violently told us not to come back. It all happened simply because we wanted to pay by card, like in any other European country. This place should be avoided due to its mistreatment of those who aren't German or don't speak German.

Service and attention unbecoming of Bavarian kindness. They forced us to pay in cash. Without any correction, they said it was their policy. When we spoke to the manager, another employee with a beard appeared, shouting and mocking us because we weren't German. The manager condoned the degrading treatment at all times simply for wanting to pay by card. The bearded man told us to leave and never come back. An aggressive and unnecessary comment, because this place clearly isn't worth our visit or our money. Intolerable and contemptuous treatment. Not at all recommended.

We were only there for drinks, so can't comment on the food. Service was friendly and attentive.

A very friendly and welcoming welcome. We stayed in the guesthouse, which is a few meters from the main building. The rooms are very 1980s but charming in their own way, clean and comfortable. So anyone looking for modern luxury will have a hard time finding it in this area anyway, as most people live by tradition. The view is fantastic, and the noise from the street is moderate. We had a small balcony, and it was lovely to sit there after a day's activities. The hotel is well located in the town of Ramsau; you can quickly drive to the sights and excursion destinations in about 20 minutes in any direction.

We wanted to have dinner and asked the extremely annoyed waitress if we could bring our dog into the restaurant. She grumpily pointed to the dining room across the hall. Unfortunately, it was full, and the only available table was already reserved. Too bad, and we'd already left. We just didn't need it anymore.

Excellent beer, they can make it the best in the area, the food is excellent, the price is normal, the service wasn't the fastest, but otherwise it was fine

We stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. The accommodation is very clean and, above all, very welcoming. The welcome was very friendly, and the breakfast service was also very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was very varied and delicious! You also have a beautiful view of the mountains, and you can enjoy the view from the balcony in the evening.

The food was very good, the service was okay... I've had different experiences at other restaurants in the Berchtesgadener Land. It's a shame. But as I said, the food was really very good.

We stopped there for a break and were very satisfied. It was crowded, but the service was still excellent.

The location, right on the main street, isn't exactly pleasant when eating in the beer garden. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful. It seemed as if the atmosphere was bad. The garden was almost empty. I asked for pepper; ask your waiter! The food was okay.

A beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view of the world-famous St. Sebastian Church - a real postcard motif! The beer garden under old chestnut trees invites you to linger, especially in summer - simply wonderful. The Berchtesgadener Hell is a real treat and tastes simply heavenly! The locals are warm, open and always up for a nice chat. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive and always brings a good mood to the table with their humor. You will be spoiled with culinary delights here - we particularly recommend the tender, crispy roast in a dark beer sauce with traditional dumplings - a real treat for the palate! I always like to return to this charming restaurant and enjoy the special atmosphere. A place to feel good – cheers!

Nice service, great cake, beautiful view

Super delicious food! Even though we arrived 10 minutes before closing time (which we didn't know because we honestly hadn't paid attention) we still got a warm meal that was really tasty and dog-friendly here too.

We had the vegan pretzel dumplings with mushroom ragout. It was also very tasty, but it's a shame that many vegan dishes were taken off the menu and there's only one left. You can sit outside in the beer garden. Service was friendly! Unfortunately only cash payment possible.

We ate there in the evening with a larger group and it was simply outstanding how we were treated by Alex. The food was also very tasty and we had a great evening with the family, thank you very much for that!!!

Went for a small lunch. Cabbage soup was really great, I didn't know it. The service is also commendable. Can confidently recommend.

We didn't spend the night there, just had lunch. Basically it was okay, but compared to other restaurants with similar reviews in the area it was below average. We have a few points that weren't great in the end. We had the Bergsteigerschnitzel and the Cordon Bleu. The Cordon Bleu was 3 euros more expensive than the schnitzel, although the portion was certainly 1/3 smaller. Each side dish was fries. Basically you can't go wrong here. Both the cordon bleu and the schnitzel tasted great. The preparation was simple and visually unappealing. A little "green stuff" and we'll be playing in the top league. The waiter was friendly, but nothing more, nothing less. We asked for mayonnaise and ketchup, he came without. Cutlery was also available upon request. Then came 3 times mayonnaise and 1 time ketchup. As I said, everything is good, nothing crazy. But there is room for improvement to get 5 stars from me. There are parking spaces at the house, the toilets were clean, well-maintained and modern. The restaurant's decor is also what you would expect in the Alps.

Just wonderful, we ate here our way to Hintersee. The pumpkin soup and the fish was tasty and fresh, service, staff, everything was perfect, The best thing about it is the lovely location, specially in Christmas time, calm, not crowded and the view was covered with the snow. We will come back, for sure

Delicious food and great, friendly service

We were just there to eat. We were led into a side room. The tables there are very close together. You can hardly sit down without bumping into the chairs at the neighboring table. The service was quick and friendly. Bergsteigerschnitzel is on the menu with ham/cheese parade. You are served 2 thin, fried slices of meat with bacon cubes placed on top and gratinated with cheese. Fried potatoes come out of the deep fryer, so are fries in slices, good Bavarian food is something else. The prices are OK, but the performance is not right.

A Bavarian inn, as you imagine and wish. The food...a feast for the palate. The staff... mega. You immediately feel at home and don't want to leave. Please stay as you are. Unique. And the Gentian mountain schnapps......also delicious in a shot glass. 😉

In general, the hotel service is great and the breakfast is a dream (very traditional Bavarian). Nice welcome, respectful treatment of the guest, clean room, a lot or (almost) everything is right here! The only complaint is that there is unfortunately no socket at the bed. There was only a socket on the TV, so we used the sockets in the bathroom. Fantastic view, everything can be reached by car in 10-15 minutes 👍🏽.

There are not many restaurants in Ramsau and we prefer to not revisit a restaurant unless we cannot find anything else. We were very thankful that we were received without a reservation very near closing time. The menu is predictable with schnitzel, dumplings, roast pork. I made the mistake of ordering pork roast that was far from fresh. It was very dry. With that said, the apple strudel was delicious!

We received a very friendly welcome. Since we had booked a balcony, we were accommodated in the guest house. The room was OK. What really bothered us was the bed in room 23. It creaked with every movement. It was also not OK to allow wet, dirty bicycles to be left in the lounge.🤔🤔 The breakfast was good, fresh and sufficient. The food in the restaurant was good, but could have been a little warmer. The service was good, especially from Alexander and Kiri?. We were able to do a lot of activities from the location. The bus stop opposite also had great advantages. But always happy.👍👍

There was no open economy at Hintersee (sunny to cloudy day). At the Gasthof Oberwirt we found a free table despite an unannounced tour group. The service was quick, friendly and relaxed. This is such a well run and friendly place. We had just drinks here - my husband’s favourite beer of our holiday - but you could tell, within our short visit, what a lovely atmosphere this place has. Really relaxed and chatty staff, and super efficient even when really busy. This place was delightful. I do hope we can stay here when we next visit Bavaria.

Centrally located inn with authentic, very tasty cuisine and quick, friendly service 👍 The bus stops right next to the inn and on the opposite side of the street there is a parking lot for guests and an additional public 2-hour parking lot. Unfortunately, only cash payment is accepted at the Oberwirt and in my opinion that will no longer be appropriate in 2024, even for Bavaria 👎

We spent the next three years here at the Gasthof Oberwirt. Our rooms were available for check-in at 2 p.m., but unfortunately it wasn't possible before that. The staff was very nice. We had our room in the upstairs guest house. The bathroom is quite spacious and has a bathtub with a shower. We booked with breakfast, which is served directly in the Oberwirt from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. It's not a buffet, but you get plenty at the table and you can also get fruit and cereal.

Went to the Oberwirt for lunch today, Bergsteiger Schnitzel and Tafelspitz were sensational, as was the yeast dumpling with poppy seeds and vanilla sauce, we also thought the service was great, the price-performance ratio is also very good,,,, 💯 percent recommended... we will come back on the next vacation 😊

A family-run inn where you almost feel like you're part of the family from the moment you arrive - that's how warmly you'll be welcomed here. There's nothing missing in the rooms, and the same goes for breakfast, which isn't a buffet but is still rich and varied. The cuisine is pleasantly typical of the country, the portions are large, and the friendly service should also be emphasized here. The whole house is filled with Bavarian cosiness. The price/performance ratio is also good. The only drawback: the breakfast and dinner times could be a bit longer. The location is great, an ideal starting point for various tours, and not only Berchtesgaden, but also Königssee and Bad Reichenhall are easily accessible both by public transport and by car. Rupertus or Watzmann thermal baths are ideal for bad weather.

We wanted to have lunch at the Gasthof Oberwirt, a little earlier as usual, because of the rush at lunchtime. We were sent on at a side entrance. There was the outside terrace, nice and shady. A young man, probably a waiter, cleaned the tables. On mine When we asked if we could sit outside, we got the answer: Yes, but only at 12 p.m. Well, no problem, we thought, and I realized that we could sit outside until then opens at 12, and then more people would come, he wouldn't be able to do that. After all, he still has to get the coffee machine ready and clear out. Okay, that's never happened to us before, it was 10 minutes after 11 and we should get together We weren't even allowed to sit down? We didn't like that, so we left the terrace. We won't be coming back, apparently they just don't need it anymore in the mountaineering village of Rsmsau.

We only came back for dinner, Wanted to try the highly praised knuckle and the daily menu currywurst with fries. For me the knuckle was average at best, I have no idea what experiences the other guests had, but you can't argue about taste. The currywurst/fries was a disgrace, old-tasting sausage and completely over-fried fries, how can you offer something like that. Oh yes, a large inn/hotel with its own butcher shop and you can't pay by card??? Strange! You'll never see us again.

A great restaurant near the river and church , terrace with shade. Tasty food, heart warming and uplifting staff and well speaking english. A very enjoyable experience.

Nice outdoor terrace, good service and good food

We had booked and paid for a large room with living room. We got a completely ordinary double room that hadn't been renovated since 1970, which was very disappointing. You could hear everything from the surrounding rooms when they showered, went to the toilet, talked etc., there is no soundproofing. You also have to remember that if you choose to eat in their restaurant, they only accept cash. If you have bought with breakfast, a portion is served, and you are not sitting alone at the table, you share a table with other guests. Way too expensive for the quality.

A beautiful inn in the middle of the town, with particularly good cuisine, everything is handmade and you can taste it too. It actually starts in the morning with the delicious and varied breakfast and continues with the small but very well thought-out menu, which has something for everyone, as well as changing delicious daily specials. Then the nice staff there really makes you feel like you're in good hands and no matter what, I think you could express any wish and they would try to fulfill it. We have now completed our second stay here and would like to come back next year because there is simply no better place to switch off, relax and have fun.

Nice restaurant in Ramsau with very friendly service. The location is absolutely ok, you rarely do anything wrong in Ramsau. Sitting food was good, but not great either. You get full, it tastes good, but there is no wow factor. The dumpling wasn't really my thing and my wife had probably had the fried potatoes for a while. But you can definitely eat here and you won't be disappointed!

Our room was very spacious, large and cozy. The bathroom is newly renovated and also large. There was a small balcony in our room. The three of us were able to sit there without any problem.

Went there today after a day at the lake. Hardly any restaurant has managed to shine like this 😊 Super nice waitresses and very accommodating, food and drinks were brought to the table quickly and the food is just amazing. Small but great menu with something for every diet 🙏 I would particularly like to highlight the young waiter who, full of enthusiasm and singing, made the evening a lot sweeter. Good and centrally located inn. Dogs are welcome and the selection of food is not too large, but still varied. Card payment is not possible. The opening times in the afternoon are practical and good. The service staff is very friendly and quick. You feel in good hands and the food is delicious. We got a spot, but when we left there were several people waiting for a spot.

Stopped by the Oberwirt today after a great day at Hintersee. We were warmly welcomed and the waiter pointed out the daily special: lumberjack steak with fried potatoes and fresh salad. It was simply delicious, honest fresh cuisine. We'd love to come back.😊

Very tasty food, at normal prices. I've experienced completely different prices here in the area (which really rip off tourists). The staff is very friendly. The half knuckle is highly recommended. The mountaineering schnitzel is also very tasty. We were very happy and stayed there a few times during our vacation.

Absolutely recommended. Very child-friendly and we all really enjoyed the food. The service was super friendly. We'll be back 😀
