Sehr gemütliche Berggaststätte mit traumhaftem Bergpanorama. Unsere drei Kinder waren sich einig: Die Pommes sind die besten, die sie je gegessen haben. Wir kommen bald wieder.

Neu hergerichtete Gaststätte in einer unwahrscheinlich tollen Gegend. Das Essen war lecker, die Bedienungen waren aufmerksam. Es gibt einen tollen Kinderspielplatz und schöne Aussicht ohne Ende. Die Fahrt mir dem Sessellift war angenehm, also alles in allem ein gelungener und empfehlenswerter Ausflug. Wir waren jetzt erneut da da.. es gibt kein Manko, wie es hier manche beschreiben. Wirklich tolle Bedienung, obwohl nur zu zweit. Sehr aufmerksam und absolut freundlich. Und sehr viele Einheimische da dieses Mal. Ich kann es nur bestens empfehlen.

Alles super! Essen zwar nicht ganz so preiswert, aber dafür eine Logenaussicht auf den Ramsauer Talkessel. Top modern eingerichtet, Essen hat geschmeckt, was will man mehr? Dazu moderner neuer Spielplatz für Kinder und unweit des Sesselliftes bequem zu erreichen. Zwischen 45-90 Minuten Gehzeit, je nachdem wie fit man ist.

Sehr schöne Alm, mit tollem Ausblick. Das Essen war sehr gut und auch liebevoll angerichtet. Nur zu empfehlen!

Unweit vom Toten Mann Gipfel ist die Berggaststätte Hirschkaser. Ein wirklich schöner Ort mit fantastischen Rundumblick. Viele Plätze im Außenbereich, bayerische Schmankerl und Getränke sowie Kaffee sehr lecker. Sehr freundlicher bayrischer und aufmerksamer Kellner, der gerne Auskunft gibt. Das bestellte kommt schnell und man wird immer wieder gefragt, ob alles passt. Auf dem Gelände ist ein Lieblingsplatzerl mit Rahmen, das gerne als Foto Hotspot benutzt wird. Auch Wellenliegen stehen zur Verfügung. Für die Kleinen befindet sich hinter dem Gasthaus ein Spielplatz auf einem kleinen Hügel.

Wir waren Mitte Februar da. Starten wir mit dem Essen: Mega lecker!! Currywurst: Die Wurst selbst hat nach einer lokalen Wurst geschmeckt, die Soße war leicht scharf aber sehr gut und dir Pommes außen knusprig innen fluffig. Weißkrauteintopf mit Brot: sehr gut, da gibts nicht mehr zu sagen. Highlight: der Kaiserschmarrn. Das war der beste den ich bis jetzt gegessen habe (ich würde behaupten, ich habe bereits einige Kaiserschmarrn auf diversen Almen gegessen). Normalerweise gehören für mich Rosinen und Apfelmus dazu. Dieser Kaiserschmarrn war aber so lecker, dass man ihn auch ganz ohne alles genießen wollte. Das Apfelmus war hier eher überflüssig und hat den Geschmack sogar etwas genommen. Das Personal war außerdem top, sehr freundlich.

Ein sehr urgemütliches Lokal auf dem Berg, direkt auf der Bergstation des Hirscheck. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Dazu beigetragen hat das urige Ambiente als auch die netten Kellner. Das Essen und Trinken wurde nach der Bestellaufnahme schnell gebracht und schmeckte uns sehr gut (Kinderschnitzel und Pommes sowie 2 Brezel mit Obazda). Preise gerade für das Essen nicht gerade günstig, da ist der hirschkaser aber keine Ausnahme im Vergleich zu anderen Almhüttn. Irgendwie muss man ja zum einen Leute finden die da arbeiten wollen und zum anderen müssen die Lebensmittel ja irgendwie auf den Berg hinauf. Schöner Außenbereich den wir aber aufgrund der Witterung nicht genutzt haben.

Unter der Woche ist vielleicht wenig los. Am Wochenende hoffnungslos voll. Spricht für das Gasthaus und die einzigartige Aussicht. Aber freundlich selbst bei Überfüllung. Sauber.

Super Service essen ziemlich schnell gekommen für so viele Leute und finde gut das extra ein Häuschen da ist wo man direkt Getränke holen kann. Lift Personen waren auch sehr freundlich

Der wohl beste Apfelstrudel -ever. Wie hausgemacht-super! Der Weg nach oben ist für Flachlandtiroler schon ne Hand voll. Der Blick von oben ist aber ein echter Volltreffer! Wir kommen im Sommer sicher wieder

Leider einen falschen Tag mit falscher echtzeit erwischt... es war wirklich voll. Essen - es gab nicht mehr alles und manches mit min 30 min Vorlauf... Personal - bemüht freundlich zu bleiben, jedoch hat man gemerkt wie genervt und manche eine Überfordert war. Wartezeit zu Erstbestellung über 45min Das mit Kindern - sehr unschön

Allein schon wegen der traumhaften Aussicht immer einen Besuch wert. Egal zu welcher Jahreszeit. Personal sehr freundlich und man muss auch wenn es voll ist, nie lange warten. Preise etwas gehoben aber dafür gute Sitzbänke draußen und drinnen renoviert. Essen ist gut, es gibt auch einfache Gerichte, wie würstl und Pommes. Und gute Kuchen und Süßspeisen. Leider war zum vierten Mal in Folge die Gulasch Suppe aus, sehr eigenartig!! Dann sollte man sie vielleicht von der Karte streichen. Sonst lohnend zum besuchen und gemütlich sitzen und gut essen.

Als Einheimischer kenne ich diese Gaststätte schon lange. Früher war das tatsächlich mal eine Alm in der man gern einkehrte und verweilte. Nach dem Umbau wurde es immer schlechter und teurer. Aktueller Höhepunkt des Niedergangs ist die aktuelle Bewirtschaftung. Die Preise sind mittlerweile jenseits von Gut und Böse, denn 15,50 für ne Currywurst / Pommes, 7 Euro für 1 paar mickrige Wiener und der allseits beliebte Teufelstoast für 22 Euro, da vergeht einem der Appetit schon beim Lesen der Speisekarte. Wenn dann obendrauf noch ein untauglicher Service kommt, dann reicht es einem. Ich war in letzter Zeit 2-mal am Hirscheck. Jedes mal bei gutem Wetter und dadurch natürlich viele Gäste und dann nur 1 Bedienung. Da sieht man entweder Mangel oder Geiz. Dazu kam noch, dass - obwohl ich mich mehrmals bemerkbar gemacht hab - ich absolut ignoriert wurde, da ich weiter außen saß und munter andere Gäste die näher am Haus saßen abkassiert oder nach dem Wohlbefinden befragt wurden. Nach 30 Minuten durfte ich dann gnädigerweise mein Bier bestellen auf das ich dann nochmal 15 Minuten gewartet hab. Als "Abräumer" wird ein verlumpter Mann in Schlapperklamotten beschäftigt. Klar, es gibt in der Gastronomie ein Fehl an Personal, aber dann muss man sich halt was einfallen lassen, um zumindest den Service gut zu machen. Dass Touristen die Preise zahlen, um die zweifelsohne wunderschöne Aussicht zu genießen ist klar. Aber Einheimische werden - wie ich auch bei einem meiner Besuche miterlebt hab - nicht mehr kommen. Ich empfehle daher die Aussicht auf dem gegenüberliegenden "Toten Mann" zu genießen und von dort zum Söldenköpfl abzusteigen um zu Essen. Ich werde demnächst meine Brotzeit selbst mitnehmen. Schade 🤷🏻‍♂️ um eine wirklich schöne Örtlichkeit

The Hirschkaser boasts a breathtaking view and excellent food – simply perfect for relaxing and enjoying yourself. The food was truly delicious and made with regional ingredients. While this is reflected in the price, it is absolutely justified. The service was also very friendly and attentive. A wonderful place to stop after a hike or a ride on the cable car.

Because it's simply perfect up here, and with delicious cake and cappuccino, it's nice to relax after the climb... With a beautiful view. Thank you so much!

We hiked up from the Hochschwarzeck parking lot along the forest road. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. You can also take the cable car. There's a new playground for children at the top. There's a large terrace outside. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated, and the atmosphere is very cozy. There's plenty of seating, even when there's a large crowd of hikers. The servers are very attentive and serve very quickly. Our food was delicious. I had a currywurst with fries. The fries looked homemade, with the skin on, and perfectly cooked. The cheese dumplings with salad were also excellent. The restrooms were also completely new. I highly recommend this innkeeper.

Very beautifully situated. The view is fantastic; you can see from the Kehlsteinhaus to the Jenner and all the way to Hintersee. The food is very good. My wife had Obazda (traditional Austrian sausage) with two pretzels. A good portion for a woman. I had a farmer's stew with bread. The portion was also good, as we wanted to hike further. Orders are processed quickly. The staff is really friendly. I'd love to come back here... maybe even on my next vacation 😁. Greetings from the Rhön.

The Hirschkaser mountain restaurant is an absolutely worthwhile destination! The panoramic view is impressive – simply breathtakingly beautiful. The food is excellent, including delicious beer from the Hofbrauhaus Berchtesgaden, and is freshly prepared with love. It's a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy the view. The service is warm, friendly, and attentive – you feel completely welcome here. Everything is fantastic, highly recommended!

Very nice viewpoint and very nice restaurant

To reach the top you drive, walk or take a cable car. The views were amazing. There was a Catholic Mass taking place on top. Ordered food and it was amazing. The service was fantastic given there were so many people. It’s an amazing place.

The young waiter was very friendly and accommodating; I'll never forget the liver dumpling soup, it was so good!

We sat down at a table with hardly any other guests. Nevertheless, the waiter clearly had no desire to serve us. After waiting for 15 minutes without any attention, we simply left. Such ignorance and unfriendliness is truly a disgrace!

A beautiful mountain restaurant with breathtaking views of the Watzmann and Hochkalter. The food is excellent, and the service and the host are wonderful people. We lost our cell phone in the restaurant and unfortunately didn't notice until after opening hours. The lift was no longer open, and we were 45 km away. The host brought the cell phone to the parking lot for us. What a wonderful and kind gesture. Our vacation was saved.

Probably my favourite mountain hut restaurant. I wanted to eat some knödelsuppe and a friend recommended hiking to here. The soup was excellent, service was great and the views are amazing. Really excellent place. Also you can pay by card.

Three years have passed since our last visit... and it was worth it again. Very attentive and friendly waiters, the soups and the location were a dream. A lot has changed inside too, making it very appealing and modern... we'd love to come back.

Beautiful alpine pasture next to the chairlift. Very cozy, but very warm even in summer, as there's hardly any shade depending on where you sit. Prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, there was no option for a smaller portion of the Kaiserschmarrn, and despite asking, they refused. The Kaiserschmarrn was okay, but there have been much better ones.

Superb view... 360° views from all angles. The menu is perfect, and the staff is quick and friendly. I highly recommend this excursion.

What a beautiful location! Good selection of food and drinks, moderate prices. In good weather, it can get quite crowded up there, especially when the chairlift is running.

Basically, it's a beautiful, renovated, modern mountain hut. The view is excellent, and the prices are comparable to other larger huts. However, it's noticeable that, due to its location, the focus here is more on tourism than hiking. When asked, the staff couldn't tell where the buttermilk came from or whether the apple strudel was ready-made or freshly made. Everything tasted fine, but the cheese dumplings weren't as fresh or traditional as in other restaurants.

Super friendly and dedicated staff. The goulash soup was definitely one of the best I've ever tasted. My wife and children were also very happy with their schnitzel. The atmosphere is super cozy both inside and out. The restrooms are very well-maintained and clean.

This mountain restaurant is a 10/10, the staff are quick, friendly and very competent, the food is delicious and the view is a dream.

We've been hiking in this region for over 30 years, and we've visited the Hirschkaser on every vacation so far. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly in recent years – the staff are unfriendly and seem overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't even particularly busy. Despite digital recording and billing of the meals, an excessive amount was charged. Although the menu clearly showed that the overcharge had been charged, the waiter promptly gave us the change but, instead of an apology, pointed out that they would review the video recordings (why would that be?!). The impression here is that the restaurant simply includes the tip it doesn't receive due to unfriendliness. We certainly won't be returning here on our future vacations.

It's declined significantly in recent years. The price/performance ratio isn't right. To top it all off, today the female waitress added €5 to the actual bill. After I confronted her about it and we looked at her computer system, she promptly gave me €5 back, saying, "She's looking at the video recordings." What's up with that????

We were there by bike. A lovely tour from the Mordaualmen pastures to the Hirschkaaser. The young man in Ramsau traditional costume served us very friendly. He had a cool mustache, by the way. The currywurst was a bit expensive at €15. Everything tasted perfectly fine. The cheese dumplings and apple strudel were both delicious. Fortunately, the prices are reasonable for the view and the location. Thank you for the hospitality.

This incredibly well-renovated mountain restaurant is in the upper price range. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, so the prices are reasonable. The portions are generous. When the weather is good, the terrace offers a fantastic view of the valley. The restaurant can be reached either on foot or by chairlift.

April 1st and the last gasp and the hut was still open. We were alone.

I truly spent five wonderful days here. The rooms are very clean, the staff very friendly, and the owners are typically gruff, Bavarian, but at heart, they're very kind and helpful people. Unfortunately, my puppy nibbled on the wooden chair in the restaurant without anyone noticing, and the owner was very fair in her response. The food is delicious and always fresh. The view of the Watzmann and the Ramsau region is absolutely unique. Thank you for the wonderful time with you. I'll be back!

Traveling by train is relatively inexpensive. ~20€. The view when you are at the top of the mountain pasture is inimitable. Wonderful panorama all around. Everything was beautifully done, the service was attentive. We're only here for vacation, but this is the nicest stop in the Berchtesgaden area so far.

Service takes longer, unfriendly. Food different than on the menu. Kaiserschmarrn €18 is the most expensive thing I've seen so far. The inn just has a unique selling point. Quite a short hike.

The perfect place to enjoy a dream day with the best view of the Berchtesgaden mountains! The prices are great, despite the higher costs of purchasing food due to the mountain location. The chef does his job great👌 as do the friendly staff and the innkeepers!!!

At first I had a good impression of the Hirschkaser: the location and view are simply amazing, the restaurant is cozy and the staff seemed competent. I personally spoke to one boss (of 2 bosses) about a seasonal job, which he immediately agreed to. I, on the other hand, needed a short time to think about it and agreed to speak to him by phone in the next few days. At our first meeting he gave me the choice of whether I wanted to work there illegally or registered, which made me a little suspicious. When he replied to my telephone promise that I should please contact him again a week before starting work so that he wouldn't forget me, I finally had a strange feeling about the whole thing. Since I didn't have a written confirmation and a few questions about the job remained unanswered, I wrote him an email a few weeks later. He responded with the words "I'm no longer up at Hirschkaser and no longer in Germany. I wish you personally all the best." At first I lost my breath for a moment and it was very obvious that something was going very wrong... He then forwarded me to the other boss, to whom I sent an email, which went unanswered. So after a few days I called the restaurant, where I was brushed off in a rather unfriendly manner due to the large number of visitors and they promised to call me again in the evening. According to their own statements, they had already read my email at the time, but probably saw no need to respond to me. Of course, I didn't receive a call in the evening and I contacted them again the next day, where they shut me down with similar words as the day before and told me that I could write another email. With the last shred of goodwill I did, but again I got no answer. I imagined a seasonal job up there would be really nice, but if the bosses/staff are incompetent, unreliable, unfriendly and don't play with open cards, it just can't be fun, it's a shame. I'll definitely hike to the restaurant one or two more times to see the breathtaking view, but I won't support the Hirschkaser with another cent...

Waited over an hour for the food, even though only half of the tables were occupied, then everything came out at different times, sometimes not properly warm. Staff unfriendly, one waitress even downright rude. The food was good, but totally overpriced. A portion of chips was 7 euros. The toilets were dirty. But the tourists will keep coming. As a local, I will take my snack up with me in the future.

Unfortunately it was self-service and there was no food at our time because there was too much going on. Still super nice surroundings and views and nice staff.

We reserved 2 days in advance via Google and also received a confirmation by email. When we arrived 15 minutes before the reservation, we were initially left standing in the entrance unnoticed for 10 minutes. Only after we actively spoke to the waitress ourselves were we simply seated at a table where people were already sitting to "wait" for another 10 minutes. Since groups were constantly passing us and sitting down, we decided to actively approach the staff again 15 minutes later and were then led to a table in the main room where a family was leaving. Here again is a table that was already used by another group at the same time. They hadn't even wiped the table top, which still had pieces of salt and other crumbs on it. Again we spent another 15 minutes unnoticed while people who came after us were able to place their orders before us, so we placed our order ourselves at the entrance. The food came relatively quickly, but the starter soup was served to us together with the main course, which inevitably meant that one of the two dishes had to be eaten more or less cold. There was no dessert because more than half of the food was already gone at lunchtime and we didn't want to wait any longer. When we wanted to pay, we also waited in vain until we finally decided to pay at the exit. A "plus" for the view, which we didn't have despite having a reservation, and the fact that you could pay by card. The food itself was delicious, but you're definitely paying for the location/view and the fact that there's no other competition locally. We were very happy because of the positive reviews, but unfortunately we will not be coming back due to the chaotic conditions, the poor service and the unpleasant background noise. What a shame!

We took a break from tobogganing here. Even though it was really full, we easily got a table and were served quickly. The staff is super structured and friendly. The prices are rather high, but appropriate for the location. The food tasted good.

A few days ago we went tobogganing with the kids and were looking forward to a cozy stop - that was far from it. Only self-service (although the hut is clearly not designed for this), totally overwhelmed staff and absolutely exorbitant prices. It took 1 hour 30 from queuing to serving the food. For 3 main courses and 2 drinks leave over €70. Unfortunately that was the last time! Too bad!

The prices there are amazing, a Kaiserschmarren for 18€ is more than outrageous and that has nothing to do with expensive food!! The service is total Overwhelmed and not at all pleasant to sit and then leave €100 as a family until everyone has something to eat and drink - no thanks!

First of all: great food! You can't criticize the kitchen! But the prices are now almost outrageous and the waitresses are sometimes quite snippy (and overwhelmed here and there). Knowledge of German…for free! But: if, for example, you order a drink, get something else and mention it, the answer shouldn't be: "We haven't had that for half a year!" If I then counter that it's on the menu today, then it's " But it still tasted good, didn’t it?” absolutely unacceptable as an answer. I wasn't aware of spontaneous changes to opening times either... "The kitchen is now closed for half an hour, you can order again from 3 p.m.!" Well, but if you just want to stop in quickly, that's not okay either. The prices are too high for that... Above all, there is nothing about it on the menu. Also not: kitchen closes at 4:30 p.m. with the last descent. If you could write it down, no one would complain! But as an annoyed comment from the waitress…difficult. You can't rest too much on the monopoly situation (otherwise there won't be an inn there, so you HAVE to go there), otherwise the guests will stay away at some point...

Sorry, the hospitality and service were catastrophic. The waiter was unfriendly, as we have never experienced it before. 1 hour waiting time for a wheat beer, Kaiserschmarrn was not possible at all. Overall impression completely overwhelmed and unstructured.

Absolutely recommended! We bought a combination ticket, uphill and downhill ride including food and a drink. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the food is very good and plentiful. The staff is quick and very nice. Everything was very, very clean and high quality. Because the waiter had forgotten our order, the boss gave us a delicious drink. Nevertheless, everything went off quite quickly and friendly. However, the signs for the hiking trails up here are not clear, so you should inquire in advance.

Best view of the Watzmann. Unfortunately it is now very overpriced. Of course a lot has been invested in a Kaiserschmarren but offering it for just under €20 speaks volumes...

Beautiful all-round view of the Berchtesgaden Alps

schönes Wetter, die Hütte war voll, wir konnten nur Getränke bestellen, Essen hätten wir erst 20 Minuten später bestellen können. Als wir das monierten war der angebliche Wirt sauer und ließ uns einfach sitzen ohne Getränke und später meinte er, wir sollen gehen. Den Gästen am nächsten Tisch ging es genauso, konnten auch kein Essen bestellen. Der "Wirt" war heillos überfordert. Die Preise total überzogen.

I don't understand this 4.5 star rating. Waiters are blind, waiting time to order is about 30 minutes. Then wait 20 minutes until the drinks arrive and you don't even have to start eating. There are more beautiful destinations than the Hirschkaser

The view is enchanting, but the following problem became noticeable on a Sunday afternoon. Service poor due to inadequate specialist staff, service staff incompetent, not stress-resistant and unfriendly. Waiting times beyond good and bad even the snow melted on the glacier faster than the beer was on the table. I couldn't even think about eating.
