Der Apfelstrudel hat mich wirklich überzeugt und war sein Geld auf jeden Fall wert. Das Ambiente ist natürlich unschlagbar. Service war gut nur die Wartezeiten bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde war etwas lang aber hielt sich noch im Rahmen. Sehr gemütlicher Biergarten mit faszinierendem Ausblick. Das WC war ordentlich und sauber. Perfekt um Mittags eine Pause einzulegen.

Auf unserer Wanderung von der Wimbachklamm aus machten wir eine Pause zur Stärkung.

Rundherum eine der besten Einkehren auf einer Wanderung die wir jemals hatten. Klasse Essen & sehr netter Service machen diesen Ort zu etwas besonderem!

Wunderschöner Ort in der Nähe der Berge. Anreise nur zu Fuß über die Route 1.

Rast während der Wanderung bei sehr freundlichem Service und in alpinen Ambiente, mitten im Gebirge, großartig.

Die Berggaststätte Wimbachschloss ist ein wunderschönes Ziel für eine Einkehr nach einer Wanderung und liegt inmitten einer beeindruckenden Bergkulisse. Schon die Lage allein macht den Besuch zu etwas Besonderem. Das herrliche Panorama auf die umliegenden Berge und die einzigartige Atmosphäre laden dazu ein, eine Pause einzulegen und die Natur in Ruhe zu genießen. Besonders gefallen haben mir die gemütlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten, die zum Verweilen einladen. Nach dem Aufstieg gibt es kaum etwas Schöneres, als bei einer Mahlzeit oder einem Getränk die Aussicht auf die umliegende Bergwelt zu genießen. Die Kombination aus alpiner Landschaft, frischer Bergluft und entspannter Atmosphäre macht den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Auch kulinarisch konnte die Berggaststätte überzeugen. Die Qualität der Speisen war sehr gut, die Gerichte waren frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich hervorragend. Gleichzeitig stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, was in einer Berggaststätte nicht selbstverständlich ist. Die angebotenen Speisen und Getränke sind fair bepreist und die Portionsgrößen angemessen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist außerdem der aufmerksame und freundliche Service. Trotz des Besucheraufkommens wurden wir zügig bedient und das Personal war stets höflich und hilfsbereit. Dadurch fühlt man sich als Gast willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Für Wanderer und Ausflügler ist das Wimbachschloss genau der richtige Ort für eine Einkehr. Die Lage, die Aussicht, die gute Küche und der freundliche Service ergeben zusammen ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis. Wer im Wimbachtal unterwegs ist, sollte hier unbedingt eine Pause einplanen. Die Berggaststätte ist absolut empfehlenswert und einen Besuch definitiv wert. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Einkehrmöglichkeit mit herrlichem Panorama, guter Küche, fairen Preisen und aufmerksamem Service. Gerne wieder!

Schönes Ausflugslokal mit reichlich Sitzgelegenheiten im Außenbereich

Ein wunderbar gelegenes Lokal mit einer fantastischen Aussicht. Der Service ist absolut freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben hervorragend gegessen ( Hirschgulasch und eine Käseplatte). Ein absolutes Muss.

Leckere Brotzeit nach traumhafter Tour. Bedienung super freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Wirtsleut' Petra und Alex betreiben das Wimbachschloss voller Elan und Freude. Hervorragendes Essen (noch nie zuvor auf einer Hütte in den Bergen solch herausragende Gerichte serviert bekommen) mit Fokus auf regionale Bezugsquellen und Qualität. Sehr freundlicher Service, saubere Örtlichkeiten und schönes Ambiente in der historischen Hütte sowie im Biergarten. Umrahmt von den Bergflanken des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden. Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Wanderung von circa 1 Std. ab Parkplatz Ramsau lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, selbst wenn einmal nicht Kaiserwetter angesagt ist. Ein absolutes Highlight. Auch vegane Angebote (sehr zu empfehlen). Für Familien und Hunde auch zu empfehlen. Wir sind durch die Wimbachklamm und weiter hoch zur Hütte. Gebürtig aus dem schönen Mitteldeutschland habe ich als Veganerin schon mit einer Portion Pommes und Salat gerechnet. Doch im Wimbachschloss wurde ich vom Gegenteil überrascht. Herzlicher Service und absolut freundlich wurde zusammen überlegt, welches Gericht veganisiert werden kann. Dabei gab es eine kleine aber gute Auswahl von ein ca. 2-3 Gerichten. So habe ich einen absoluten leckeren Apfelstrudel gegessen. Wobei auch die weiteren Gerichte (vegan und omnivor) sehr lecker klangen/ aussahen. Also Kind wäre ich bestimmt auch gerne auf dem Spielplatz/ Murmelbahn gewesen. Für Hunde gibt es Trinkstellen und Karabiner zum Festmachen. Demnach eine absolute Empfehlung für Mensch und Tier.

Wir haben Hirschgulasch mit Knödeln gegessen und dazu hausgemachten Kräutersprudel getrunken. Eine absolute Empfehlung. Alle sind super Freundlich und man fühlt sich sehr wohl.

Durch die Wimbachklamm zum Wimbachschloss. Ehemaliges Jagdschloss vom Prinzregenten Luitpold...sehr nette Bedienung.

5 Sterne von mir, weil grundsätzlich das, worum es bei euch geht, einfach passt. Essen Ambiente und alles drumherum top. Jetzt aber ein Kritikpunkt, mit dem ich, wie ich gesehen habe, nicht allein dastehe. Ihr müsst euch was einfallen lassen mit eurem Hund. Ich kam Pfingsten mit meinen Hunden zu euch beim Abstieg aus dem Gries. Zwei andere Hunde bereits vor Ort und keine Probleme. Auch wenn eurer vermeintlich mit allen kompatibel ist, dürft ihr nicht erwarten, dass es andere auch sind und das hat mit Erziehung nichts zu tun, sondern mit deren Naturell. Eurer hat mehrfach versucht, meiner Hündin im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes in den Arsch zu kriechen, auch einer anderen Hündin vor Ort, was deren Besitzer auch nicht prickelnd fanden. Mein Rüde hat es ihm dann beim verlassen auch ganz deutlich ausgeredet. Als Besitzer müsst ihr da Sorge tragen, dass keine Konflikte entstehen. Ein weitere Gast hinter uns war selbst maximal genervt und hat euren dann 2x von meinen Hunden vertrieben. Meine Hunde sind bestens erzogen da im Hundesport geführt. Das heisst aber nicht, dass sie andere Kontakte wünschen. Wenn ich meine Hunde auf meinem Grundstück frei laufen habe und ein anderer kommt hinzu, interessiert mich das nicht, da der Hund hier nichts zu suchen hat, ganz klar. Aber ihr betreibt ein Lokal, da sieht das leider etwas anders aus. Da kann man nicht sagen, unser Hund unsere Regeln. Dann müsst ihr nämlich künftig Gästen mit Hunden das verweilen bei euch verbieten. Es kann 10x gutgehen mit anderen Hunden. Aber kann auch anders ausgehen und das wäre ja vermeidbar. Nehmt es nicht persönlich, es soll maximal zum nachdenken anregen und ihr denkt dabei hoffentlich nicht, uns doch egal, was ein einzelner Gast denkt.

Ein tolles Ausflugsziel in traumhafter Lage inmitten der Berchtesgadener Bergwelt. Die Gastgeber sind ausgesprochen umsichtig und herzlich, die Speisen sehr lecker.

Tolles Ausflugsziel zum Wimbachschloss. Ein langer, angenehmer Anstieg bis zum Schloss. Ein wunderschönes Essen wartet auf alle die es bis zum Schloss geschafft haben. Traumhafte Aussicht, ruhige Natur, rauschendes Wasser und herrliches Essen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, leckeres Essen - spitzengastronomie.

Perfekter Abschluss der Wanderung – super lecker, aber unbedingt an Bargeld denken! Nach unserer Tour durch die Wimbachklamm und das Wimbachgries war das Wimbachschloss für uns das perfekte Ziel zum Einkehren. Ein wichtiger Tipp vorab: Macht euch unbedingt vor der Wanderung kurz schlau, ob und wann das Wimbachschloss geöffnet hat, damit ihr nach dem langen Weg nicht vor verschlossenen Türen steht! Wir hatten Glück, die Hütte war offen und wir konnten an einem wunderschönen, sonnigen Tag die herrliche Aussicht genießen. Der Service war absolut auf Zack und das Personal super freundlich. Meine Frau hatte den Kaiserschmarrn mit Apfelmus und Preiselbeersahne und ich zur Erfrischung einen Eiskaffee – beides war unheimlich lecker und genau das Richtige nach der Wanderung! Es gibt hier eine kleine, feste Getränkekarte, die Speisen wechseln und stehen als Tagesgerichte auf Tafeln geschrieben. Preislich ist es hier oben natürlich kein Schnäppchen (der Kaiserschmarrn lag bei 17,90 €). Wenn man aber bedenkt, wie extrem abgelegen die Gaststätte liegt, welcher logistische Aufwand dahintersteckt und dass hier laut Inhaber sehr auf Nachhaltigkeit und entsprechende Produkte geachtet wird, ist der Preis absolut gerechtfertigt. Noch ein ganz wichtiger Hinweis für alle Wanderer: Hier geht NUR Barzahlung! Da es dort oben so gut wie keinen Handyempfang gibt und die Hütte auch kein WLAN hat, ist Kartenzahlung technisch schlichtweg nicht machbar. Also unbedingt vorher dran denken, genug Bargeld einzupacken! Fazit: Eine tolle Hütte mit super Essen und grandioser Lage. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

War vor Ort und wurde auf ein kaltes Glas Wasser eingeladen, da ich ohne Bargeld unterwegs war. Das war so freundlich und so erfrischend, dass ich hier nächstes Mal definitiv wieder vorbeikomme und speisen werde! Dann aber mit Bargeld im Gepäck :)

Nach einen angenehmen Wanderung sind wir am 2. Mai hier eingekehrt. Die Berggaststätte war voll, Live Musik und überall gute Stimmung. Trotz des Ansturms von unzähligen Gästen waren alle Mitarbeiter extrem freundlich, herzlich und bemüht. Ihr habt das großartig gemacht! Das Essen war lecker, das Bier kalt und die Stimmung und Aussicht einfach wunderbar. Vielen Dank, weiter so!!!!

Beautifully situated mountain inn, a former hunting lodge. The food looked very good, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We'd gladly return. Moderate prices.

An absolutely fantastic trip! We visited Wimbach Castle with our family on a perfect sunny day – and it was completely worth it. Although we're not experienced hikers and were pretty exhausted by the end, the trail and especially the time at the top were simply fantastic. The ambiance is idyllic, the service incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious – just what we needed after the hike! The marble run was a real highlight for the kids, and the very clean restrooms were also impressive. The view of the surrounding mountain scenery is simply unbeatable – the place exudes tranquility, nature, and charm. A clear recommendation for families and hiking enthusiasts looking for a special destination. We'll definitely be back!

A lovely alpine hut with delicious Kaiserschmarrn and friendly staff. The hike from the main road is doable in about an hour for fit people and has an elevation gain of about 320 meters. A pleasant path through the forest and along the gorge.

Ask if they had dark beer, was told they didn't, they only had lager. Later we saw people drinking dark beer. Strange woman server.

We always stop at the castle when we walk to the Wimbachgrieshütte for a bite to eat. The food has always been good. The team is very friendly and relatively quick. Please keep up the good work, we'll be back. Really good.

Top location, beautiful mountain view. Unfortunately, the hosts don't make enough of it. Of course, they could focus on game with the food. But if they don't even offer a Wiener sausage, that doesn't meet the needs of most hikers. The prices are certainly reasonable for what's on offer, but too high for a mid-hike stop. The concept doesn't suit the location or the clientele! We either just have a drink or head straight to the Wimbachgrießhütte. But that's certainly not something everyone can or wants; many would certainly appreciate small, inexpensive meals, including those for children. There are a few specials on the menu. Service was friendly. Overall, there's room for improvement!

One star for the price of the buttermilk. The menu here on Google is €4.80, but the current menu is €6.00 for 0.3l. Better to try a 0.3l blueberry buttermilk for €5.50. Otherwise, all prices are the same as the menu shown on Google. I asked the waitress about the high price, and she said, yes, the price is high, but it's special buttermilk, plus a bit for transport, etc. At the Wimbachgrieshütte, 400m higher and 4km further down the valley, the same buttermilk (milli) costs €5.00, but for 0.5l. I felt ripped off. And yes, I ordered first and then looked at the menu.

Very idyllic and quiet location, ideal for switching off.

After just over an hour of walking along wide, flat forest paths that became increasingly steep, we arrived. More strenuous than expected, but doable for everyone. Suitable for strollers. But you'll need muscle strength to push it ;) The food and drink were delicious... But it's definitely worth the 15 to 20-minute walk towards the Grießhütte. A wonderful Grieß area with endless views :) You enter the incredibly vast, white Grieß. It's like a lunar landscape.

We've rarely had such delicious food—everything freshly prepared with local ingredients. The ladies at the restaurant were incredibly friendly, the food arrived quickly, and we were able to feast while enjoying the stunning mountain scenery.

After a short hike, we stopped at Wimbach Castle for a bite to eat. It's beautifully situated. Unfortunately, the service here is lacking. The food service, ordering, and payment were a bit chaotic. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it very much.

Staff and drinks were lovely! Bring euros, no cards - we were 2 euro short and prepared to wash dishes, only through the grace of the proprietor did we not. We'll definitely be back.

A beautiful hike through the gorge to the castle, the last hour a steady climb. The reward awaits: an absolutely delicious Kaiserschmarrn, not exactly cheap at just under 18 euros. Very friendly staff, lovely benches in the shade under the chestnut tree. If you still have energy, you can continue on to Wimbachgries.

Very nice! After a lovely hike, we came across this place and stopped in for a drink. The service was very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long. The view was absolutely beautiful. They offer a variety of dishes, which, according to what we've heard from other people, are supposed to be very delicious. We'll definitely stop here again on our next vacation.

A very nice little hut with friendly staff and delicious food and drinks at a fair price. An easy hike from the parking lot through the Wimbach Gorge (optional) along a well-maintained footpath.

The ambiance is truly a dream. The price-performance ratio is also very good. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended. 😍

We really liked it here. The food was delicious, we didn't have to wait long. The place is popular, come early 😉 A special plus for the children's menu and children's entertainment. After a beautiful, easy two-hour hike, you'll find a nice place to stop for a bite to eat (local game) and friendly hosts. Be sure to continue for another hour or so to the "Grieß" hut... there you'll have a beautiful Alpine panorama. Unfortunately, the Wimbachgrieß hut was still closed—the hut owner had gotten his trailer stuck in the Grieß.

We arrived an hour before closing time, and unfortunately, that was already too late. They only had drinks left—just barely.

Everything looks great there. Unfortunately, the owner's young male dog is running around freely and has been harassing my spayed female dog. Only one other guest was interested. It was difficult. The trip was in vain. Too bad. To your reply: I couldn't sort that out. I was so busy fending off the dog that all I could do was walk away. Maybe you should pay more attention.

The restaurant is beautifully located. Unfortunately we had to wait over 30 minutes for our first drink. Since we still didn't have the food after 1:40 hours, we canceled our drinks and left hungry.

Es ging trotz starkem Betrieb bei schönem Wetter mit der Bedienung sehr flott(4 Mädels) und megafreundlich, wo hat man das noch in der Servicewüste Deutschland?! Der Hirschgulasch aus dem Nationalpark war vorzüglich, der Vogelbeerschnaps von der Freundin des Hauses exzellent. Das war authentische bayrische Gastfreundschaft und zur Abwechslung mal kein Fake! Weiter so!

Very nice service, good regional food. It was delicious, but unfortunately the food is completely overpriced. A snack platter for 19.60 euros with two slices of bread, a few different slices of cheese and sausage, half a smoked sausage, two gherkins, two halves of radishes, some tomatoes... We have already eaten in many huts and paid significantly less for richer snack platters. Too bad!

The hike to the Wimbachschloss mountain restaurant is really beautiful and easy, perfect for a relaxed tour. The Wimbachtal is scenically impressive. The stop at the Wimbach Castle was okay, we had venison goulash and three kinds of dumplings. The food was OK.

After a hike at the Wimbachklamm, we took a break here in the mountain restaurant halfway through. From the first to the last minute we felt completely comfortable. The ambience, the backdrop of the mountains, but above all the warmth of the employees are clearly highlighted here. The map is small but nice. Everything you need is there. Regional products, a snack, Kaiserschmarrn or apple strudel. We decided on a round of beer 😜 and Kaiserschmarrn. This was then sold out after the farewell. The treatment of children here is positive. Totally open-minded. Marbles were given away yesterday. Here the children had the opportunity to play immediately in the playground on a 25m long marble run. Top! The prices may be too high for some people, but the overall package is just right here. Judging only the food or drinks is wrong. It was a great 90 minutes on site. Keep it up!

Highly recommended, extremely delicious food, a lot of it regional and organic, many vegetarian and vegan options.

Hiking in berchtesgaden national park is particularly enjoyable because you are rewarded with incredible views of the Bavarian alps and refreshments at the huts scattered throughout the park. The trail to Wimbchschloss parallels the debris field from a retreating glacier. It was a cold and Misty day so we were happy to have a spot to dry off and enjoy a beer before our return hike.

The path through the gorge to Wimbach Castle was very beautiful, I wouldn't have thought beforehand. The Wimbach grits are also impressive. The prices at the Wimbach Castle are quite high here, I've eaten at many alpine pastures and restaurants, but it was the most expensive here. A slice of bread with ham and a cucumber €12.90...cheap. The service was very friendly and nice, and you didn't have to wait long for your order. Nevertheless, I'll go this way again and maybe just have a drink.

The price of the venison goulash is listed online as €18.90. But suddenly they charge €21.90 on site, which is a bit strange and seems like a rip-off of tourists. A bit of a shame. In addition, no card payment is possible as there is no WiFi. Strangely enough, my cell phone showed me that there was a WiFi network.

We stopped here on the way to Wimbachgries and had a drink and ate a piece of cake. Both were fine. Prices are high. Toilets were okay. We sat outside in bright sunshine, so the atmosphere was great. The castle is perfectly located and invites you to take a break.

We're on our second vacation in the area and we're here again. You look forward to this (intermediate) destination right from the start of the hike. Great ambience, great nature. Clear menu including changing daily menu, very tasty and prices for some dishes are a bit higher. The performance is also good. This time (August 24) there was even game dishes. We had, among other things, the venison goulash and the saddle of venison. We really enjoyed it. We'll be back!
