Berggaststätte Wimbachschloss in Ramsau b.Berchtesgaden

Top location, beautiful mountain view. Unfortunately, the hosts don't make enough of it. Of course, they could focus on game with the food. But if they don't even offer a Wiener sausage, that doesn't meet the needs of most hikers. The prices are certainly reasonable for what's on offer, but too high for a mid-hike stop. The concept doesn't suit the location or the clientele! We either just have a drink or head straight to the Wimbachgrießhütte. But that's certainly not something everyone can or wants; many would certainly appreciate small, inexpensive meals, including those for children. There are a few specials on the menu. Service was friendly. Overall, there's room for improvement!

Very idyllic and quiet location, ideal for switching off.

One star for the price of the buttermilk. The menu here on Google is €4.80, but the current menu is €6.00 for 0.3l. Better to try a 0.3l blueberry buttermilk for €5.50. Otherwise, all prices are the same as the menu shown on Google. I asked the waitress about the high price, and she said, yes, the price is high, but it's special buttermilk, plus a bit for transport, etc. At the Wimbachgrieshütte, 400m higher and 4km further down the valley, the same buttermilk (milli) costs €5.00, but for 0.5l. I felt ripped off. And yes, I ordered first and then looked at the menu.

Very good restaurant - relaxed staff.

After just over an hour of walking along wide, flat forest paths that became increasingly steep, we arrived. More strenuous than expected, but doable for everyone. Suitable for strollers. But you'll need muscle strength to push it ;) The food and drink were delicious... But it's definitely worth the 15 to 20-minute walk towards the Grießhütte. A wonderful Grieß area with endless views :) You enter the incredibly vast, white Grieß. It's like a lunar landscape.

Very delicious cake, friendly service, and now, like everywhere else, the prices aren't so low anymore. It was nice there.

We've rarely had such delicious food—everything freshly prepared with local ingredients. The ladies at the restaurant were incredibly friendly, the food arrived quickly, and we were able to feast while enjoying the stunning mountain scenery.

Great spot for a sandwich with a view. A bit of a steep uphill walk to get there, though.

After a short hike, we stopped at Wimbach Castle for a bite to eat. It's beautifully situated. Unfortunately, the service here is lacking. The food service, ordering, and payment were a bit chaotic. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it very much.

Staff and drinks were lovely! Bring euros, no cards - we were 2 euro short and prepared to wash dishes, only through the grace of the proprietor did we not. We'll definitely be back.

A beautiful hike through the gorge to the castle, the last hour a steady climb. The reward awaits: an absolutely delicious Kaiserschmarrn, not exactly cheap at just under 18 euros. Very friendly staff, lovely benches in the shade under the chestnut tree. If you still have energy, you can continue on to Wimbachgries.

Very nice! After a lovely hike, we came across this place and stopped in for a drink. The service was very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long. The view was absolutely beautiful. They offer a variety of dishes, which, according to what we've heard from other people, are supposed to be very delicious. We'll definitely stop here again on our next vacation.

A very nice little hut with friendly staff and delicious food and drinks at a fair price. An easy hike from the parking lot through the Wimbach Gorge (optional) along a well-maintained footpath.

The ambiance is truly a dream. The price-performance ratio is also very good. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended. 😍

We really liked it here. The food was delicious, we didn't have to wait long. The place is popular, come early 😉 A special plus for the children's menu and children's entertainment. In the children's menu, they give ice cream in a cone with each dish 🤗 And what a view! 😍 The owner is very friendly and went out of her way to accommodate me. I definitely recommend it

We arrived an hour before closing time, and unfortunately, that was already too late. They only had drinks left—just barely.

After a beautiful, easy two-hour hike, you'll find a nice place to stop for a bite to eat (local game) and friendly hosts. Be sure to continue for another hour or so to the "Grieß" hut... there you'll have a beautiful Alpine panorama. Unfortunately, the Wimbachgrieß hut was still closed—the hut owner had gotten his trailer stuck in the Grieß.

Everything looks great there. Unfortunately, the owner's young male dog is running around freely and has been harassing my spayed female dog. Only one other guest was interested. It was difficult. The trip was in vain. Too bad. To your reply: I couldn't sort that out. I was so busy fending off the dog that all I could do was walk away. Maybe you should pay more attention.

The restaurant is beautifully located. Unfortunately we had to wait over 30 minutes for our first drink. Since we still didn't have the food after 1:40 hours, we canceled our drinks and left hungry.

Es ging trotz starkem Betrieb bei schönem Wetter mit der Bedienung sehr flott(4 Mädels) und megafreundlich, wo hat man das noch in der Servicewüste Deutschland?! Der Hirschgulasch aus dem Nationalpark war vorzüglich, der Vogelbeerschnaps von der Freundin des Hauses exzellent. Das war authentische bayrische Gastfreundschaft und zur Abwechslung mal kein Fake! Weiter so!

Very nice service, good regional food. It was delicious, but unfortunately the food is completely overpriced. A snack platter for 19.60 euros with two slices of bread, a few different slices of cheese and sausage, half a smoked sausage, two gherkins, two halves of radishes, some tomatoes... We have already eaten in many huts and paid significantly less for richer snack platters. Too bad!

The hike to the Wimbachschloss mountain restaurant is really beautiful and easy, perfect for a relaxed tour. The Wimbachtal is scenically impressive. The stop at the Wimbach Castle was okay, we had venison goulash and three kinds of dumplings. The food was OK.

After a hike at the Wimbachklamm, we took a break here in the mountain restaurant halfway through. From the first to the last minute we felt completely comfortable. The ambience, the backdrop of the mountains, but above all the warmth of the employees are clearly highlighted here. The map is small but nice. Everything you need is there. Regional products, a snack, Kaiserschmarrn or apple strudel. We decided on a round of beer 😜 and Kaiserschmarrn. This was then sold out after the farewell. The treatment of children here is positive. Totally open-minded. Marbles were given away yesterday. Here the children had the opportunity to play immediately in the playground on a 25m long marble run. Top! The prices may be too high for some people, but the overall package is just right here. Judging only the food or drinks is wrong. It was a great 90 minutes on site. Keep it up!

Highly recommended, extremely delicious food, a lot of it regional and organic, many vegetarian and vegan options.

Hiking in berchtesgaden national park is particularly enjoyable because you are rewarded with incredible views of the Bavarian alps and refreshments at the huts scattered throughout the park. The trail to Wimbchschloss parallels the debris field from a retreating glacier. It was a cold and Misty day so we were happy to have a spot to dry off and enjoy a beer before our return hike.

The path through the gorge to Wimbach Castle was very beautiful, I wouldn't have thought beforehand. The Wimbach grits are also impressive. The prices at the Wimbach Castle are quite high here, I've eaten at many alpine pastures and restaurants, but it was the most expensive here. A slice of bread with ham and a cucumber €12.90...cheap. The service was very friendly and nice, and you didn't have to wait long for your order. Nevertheless, I'll go this way again and maybe just have a drink.

The price of the venison goulash is listed online as €18.90. But suddenly they charge €21.90 on site, which is a bit strange and seems like a rip-off of tourists. A bit of a shame. In addition, no card payment is possible as there is no WiFi. Strangely enough, my cell phone showed me that there was a WiFi network.

We stopped here on the way to Wimbachgries and had a drink and ate a piece of cake. Both were fine. Prices are high. Toilets were okay. We sat outside in bright sunshine, so the atmosphere was great. The castle is perfectly located and invites you to take a break.

We're on our second vacation in the area and we're here again. You look forward to this (intermediate) destination right from the start of the hike. Great ambience, great nature. Clear menu including changing daily menu, very tasty and prices for some dishes are a bit higher. The performance is also good. This time (August 24) there was even game dishes. We had, among other things, the venison goulash and the saddle of venison. We really enjoyed it. We'll be back!

A very nice atmosphere coming from the Wimbachklamm about 90 minutes with breaks to reach. The prices are a little higher than you would expect but everything is freshly prepared and delicious. The cake was even lukewarm. Unfortunately, the alpine herb water had no taste at all, but water is just as tasty.

Food of the highest quality and extremely delicious! The staff is also very friendly and very quick even when the beer garden is full.

Every meter uphill from the gorge was worth it. The food is really great and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Venison goulash for EUR 21.90 is great and you can taste the quality too! The snack board with the meat specialties is also great. The service is very friendly and the ambience is unbeatable - in the middle of the mountains with a great view. Children get a marble as a gift for the marble run, so the little ones are kept busy too. Absolute recommendation!

It's rare to have such lovely innkeepers, we'd love to come back.

We arrived at this restaurant at 5:45 PM after a long walk. We were told they were closed. Kind of strange considering there were people sitting there with freshly made drinks. Walked a hell of a long way for nothing.

What a poor place... You walk up that steep end and say they close at 7 o'clock... You finally get there at half past six, the store is closed and you can forget a drink, the staff isn't nice either. . The view is not really great and the waterfalls have stopped for a while... Not worth the walk up at all. Nice walk back after the waterfalls.

A beautiful hike can also be done with a stroller thanks to well-developed paths. The snack is recommended. Service was friendly and quick too.

Nach dem Weg durch die Wimbachklamm und dem Aufstieg bis zum Wimbachgrieß haben wir hier Pause gemacht. Von der Qualität des Hirschgulasches und der Rehpflanzerl waren wir sehr angenehm überrascht. Dieses Essen hätte in jedes gehobenes Restaurant gut gepasst. Dazu ein freundlicher und schneller Service. Mehr kann man nicht erwarten

Could be the best food in Berchtesgardener Land, incredibly impressive organic menu offering home made drinks all made from local produce and locally hunted wild game. Had the Semmel-Laugen Knödel in an impressively clarified vegetable soup with vegetables Brunoise. Have had worse meals at Michelin restaurants. Owner was so kind and passionate, and provided excellent service. Prices are super affordable and they offer vegan options as well. Must go!

After a wonderful hike over the Wimbachklamm we arrived at the Schlössl. We received a super friendly welcome, were served quickly and the sausage salad was great! The beer garden is cozy and the interior is also very rustic and tasteful! It was a great trip! 5⭐️ plus

Great hut, beautiful view and good food. The buttermilk with blueberries is highly recommended after the climb from the valley, refreshing and delicious!

The two ladies were very likeable and their manners fit the Alm. :) It looked like it would rain, so we walked briskly from Wimbachklamm to the hut. There our suspicions were confirmed and they quickly conjured up apple strudel and shandy on the table. Because of the clouds I couldn't fully enjoy the delicious food, but it was really delicious. Despite the clouds, the environment was special and you realize how small you are.

Live music on a saturday afternoon, already decently packed in mid may. Recommend the Schlossdudler, similar to Holunderschorle.

A great location to eat and switch off. You can tell that the waitress enjoys her job, is very friendly and also knows the area. The sanitary facilities are new and modern. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The Kaiserschmarrn, divinely delicious (I never knew cranberries mixed with cream 🤤) We will be back definitely!

Today we were able to enjoy the golden autumn and sit outside in the sun. To shorten the waiting time for the children, there is a large marble run. Great walk through the semolina and the dog was also very welcome in the castle. Today we ate the homemade pasta with wild bolognese and Bergkamen and were extremely impressed.

Passend zugeschnittene Gastronomie für die ausergewöhnliche Lage. Lässt fast keine Wünsche offen. Origineller Spielplatz und gute Organisation. Der Weg durch die Klamm und auch danach dem Fluss entlang ist sehr schön und für jeden machbar.

Sehr schöner Ort um nach der Wanderung durch die Wimbachklamm zum Wimbachgries eine Pause einzulegen. Wir hatten Glück. An diesem Tag spielte eine Band zu Unterhaltung ab 14 Uhr. Schade das wir uns um 15 Uhr schon wieder auf den Heimweg machen mussten.

Der Aufstieg hat sich gelohnt. Wahnsinnig diese Kulisse der Berge. Schöne Alm mit super leckeren Apfelstrudel. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Nach einer Wanderung durch die Wimbachklamm und das Wimbachtal erreicht man das Wimbachschloss. Ein idealer Ort seinen Hunger und Durst durch's wandern zu stillen 😊 Radler, selbstgemachte Limonaden, Nudeln mit Grünkernpesto und viel weiters leckeres steht auf der Speiskarte 😋. Die Bedienung war super Nett. Ein toller Ort für eine Pause und zum verweilen. 👌😀

Herrlich uriges Ausflugslokal im beeindruckenden Wimbachgries. Vom Parkplatz Wimbachklamm aus gut ausgebauter, unschwerer Weg und daher bei schönem Wetter und am Wochenende gut besucht. Wir sind von Ramsau über die Eckaualm u. Hochalmscharte zum Wimbachschloss gewandert und das war grandios 👌 ⚠️ Achtung, nur Barzahlung möglich ⚠️

Haben dort ein Frühstück bestellt und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Aussicht ist klasse und der Servic war ok. Wir kommen wieder...

Haben heute eine Wanderung durch die Wimbachklamm zur Gaststätte Wimbachschloss gemacht. Die Klamm, der Weg usw. alles bestens. In der Gaststätte angekommen herrschte totales Chaos. Die beiden Damen im Service waren vollkommen überfordert und völlig planlos. Gäste, die sich gerade irgendwo hingesetzt hatten und von den beiden Da,ein bemerkt worden sind, wurden sofort bedient. Wir hatten uns an einen Tisch zu einem Pärchen gesetzt, die bezahlen wollten. Nach ca. einer halben Stunde Wartezeit sind wir dann ohne etwas zu bestellen (wir hatten gar keine Chance etwas zu bekommen und Selbstbedienung gab es auch nicht) wieder zurückgewandert. Das andere Pärchen hatte bis dahin auch noch nicht zahlen können. Das ist uns in 14 Tagen im Bergdesgardener Land noch nicht passiert.

Ein sehr schöner Ort um nach der Wanderung durch die Wimbachklamm und das Wimbachgries eine Rast zu machen. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Man kann sich stärken und noch weiter wandern oder auch den Rückweg wieder antreten. Die Bedienungen sind sehr schnell und man muss nicht lange warten. Einen Besuch wert wenn man in der Wimbachklamm oder dem Wimbachgries ist.

Das Wimbachschloss liegt etwa auf dem halben Weg zur Wimbachgrieshütte. Wer hier eine Rast einlegt ist mit einem herrlichen Blick auf die umliegenden Berge, gutem Service und Essen bestens bedient.

Der Biergarten ist sehr schön gelegen. Musste leider sehr lange auf meinen Kaiserschmarrn warten. Was bei der traumhaften Kulisse nicht das Problem gewesen wäre. Der Kaiserschmarrn war nur leider an vielen Stellen komplett schwarz und mit viel Puderzucker überpudert, dabei aber nicht fluffig sondern noch teigig. Deswegen war ich sehr enttäuscht.

Sehr freundlicher und ausgezeichneter Service. Super Süßspeisen. Das beste Ambiente in den letzten 62 Jahren (so lange kommen wir nämlich bereits hierher).

Tolles Lokal in einem atemberaubenden Ambiente. Perfekt zum "Runterkommen"! Essen ist sehr lecker und sehr reichhaltige, und der Service ist super freundlich und schnell.

Wer regionales, frisches und überragend gutes Essen bei einer unfassbar schönen Aussicht oder in einem liebevoll eingerichteten Gastraum mit Bergblick aus dem Fenster genießen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Unfassbar freundliche und herzliche Wirtin, aufmerksame und schnelle Servicekräfte. Wer gutes Essen mit einer top vegetarischen Auswahl zu wertschätzen weiß, erkennt schnell, dass Preis-Leistung überragend ist. Portionsgrößen sind mehr als sättigend. Gerne immer wieder!

Bei der Wanderung über den Wimbachgries ist das Wimbachschloss eine wirkliche Empfehlung zur Einkehr. Hohe Qualität, netter und schneller Service, tolle Location - auch wenn das seinen Preis hat…

Wir waren heute zu fünft (3 Kinder, 2 Erwachsene) dort essen. Um Geld zu sparen haben Ich und meine Frau eine normale Jausenplatte geteilt, die 2 Mädels habes sich ein Hirsch Gulasch geteilt und der Bub aß einen Apfelstrudel mit 1 Kugel Vanilleeis. Plus 1 kleines und 4 große Soda Zitrone haben wir 65 Euro gezahlt. Das ist schon sehr überteuert! Zugegeben, dass Hirschgulasch war sehr gut (habe es gekostet) und reichhaltig zubereitet... aber das Jausen Brettl ließ zu wünschen übrig. Zu wenig Butter, das Brot hat nicht mehr frisch geschmeckt, zu wenig Aufstrich, Wurst und Käse. Und dass für knapp 20 Euro.... das geht nicht. Vielleicht kann man hier in Zukunft dass Preis - Leistungs Verhältnis besser gestalten. Die Bedienung war freundlich bzw. dass Service war in Ordnung.
