The schnitzel is no longer good quality. The meat was as thin as a slice of sausage. The cheesecake didn't taste like cheese. The toilets smelled very bad.

A spontaneous stop for coffee and cake, today even in the autumnal garden. Very friendly service, a wonderful apple strudel with the best vanilla sauce! Highly recommended!

A beautiful, large restaurant on Lake Hinterbrühler in the city. A wonderful natural experience along the Isar Canal, and the rustic atmosphere of the inn. Service is very attentive. The restaurant garden and beer garden are beautiful, including a rooster and rabbits for the little ones to admire. The food is solid. A definite recommendation for a visit, even with children or by bike.

We were in the beer garden in beautiful weather and wanted a drink. There were plenty of seats available, and we allowed ourselves a spot in the front row. When we placed our order with the waiter, we had to vacate the spot with the explanation "you're only allowed to sit here if you've also ordered something to eat." I found this outrageous – especially since, as I said, there were plenty of seats available and there wasn't a rush for them. So if my money is worth less than the other guests' – €5.90 per drink, after all – and who knows how much more I would have billed – then they won't see me again – along with my friends and family! Thanks for the two-class society – of course, I wasn't wearing a tuxedo or a ball gown after hiking.

The beer garden food was expensive and bad. The old man at the cash register was extremely unfriendly and grumpy, even though it was almost deserted. We won't be eating here again. The currywurst and Leberkäse were both not good and only lukewarm. The potato salad was okay.

As a Starnberger, I actually have to drive to Hinterbrühl to find a nice beer garden. But Hinterbrühl is amazing. The food is a solid 4/5, the service could be a bit more attentive at times, but the beautiful surroundings make up for these minor gripes.

The "Gasthof Hinterbrühl" used to be a frequent destination for afternoon family strolls along the Isar River. The establishment consists of a restaurant with table service and a small beer garden. The food selection there isn't particularly extensive, and when some of it isn't available on a Sunday afternoon (spare ribs, pulled pork burger), I find it rather weak. Moreover, the small pretzels were rock hard. My wife and I had Swiss sausage salad and Leberkäse (meatloaf) with potato salad. I thought the idea of ​​serving side dishes and salads in a jar was original, but it proved rather impractical in the case of the Swiss sausage salad. The Leberkäse (meatloaf) was inexplicably cut into three wafer-thin slices, and the potato salad, in my opinion, came from a bucket. Well, it was okay with a liter of beer. The staff at the bar and food counter didn't seem particularly engaged. The à la carte restaurant may be good, but we were rather disappointed with the beer garden that day.

Nice beer garden with playground for kids. We picked up food at the self service section. The brezn and obazda were average and the currywurst food wasn’t anything special. Would definitely come back but would plan for a meal in the restaurant.

The wait staff was very delightful and charming. The food was amazing. The burger was very messy but well worth it. The brewed beef was incredible. Would gladly return to try other dishes.

June 2024, lots and lots of rain, and I arrived soaking wet as a pilgrim. I was helped out of my wet poncho and coat and received friendly service. A cozy place. I had a drink and a bite to eat there.

The Gasthof Hinterbrühl on the Isar River boasts a truly beautiful location and a wonderful ambiance – the passing rafts and free-range chickens create a truly special atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite impress us. The Wiener schnitzel was heavily saturated with fat, which caused the breading to become soggy. Some of the veal was also quite stringy. Considering the prices, we would have appreciated a bit more care in the kitchen. The fried chicken tasted okay, but didn't really save the overall impression. Overall, a lovely place to sit and enjoy the surroundings, but the culinary offerings could have been improved.

The service and atmosphere were good, but the food wasn't so impressive. Potato salad was good, and the meatballs and frozen salmon were okay. However, the value for money isn't really there; there are several cheaper restaurants nearby with better options and better food.

Gerd got us a spot by the sea yesterday 😁👌 (of course, it's only a lake, but it was like a little vacation). The food wasn't exactly cheap, but it was absolutely delicious! We were completely blown away! The restaurant is in a beautiful location, on the waterfront near a lovely park. After reading some positive reviews, we decided to eat there. What a disgrace! The waiter was "super friendly," but not very prompt. The food was nothing special; we had Wiener schnitzel, veal with mushrooms, and meatballs with supposedly homemade fries. When we asked for the bill and, according to the waiter, we hadn't tipped enough, the waiter's friendliness changed. He became a greedy, pathetic man begging for a 20% tip! Because he has a low hourly wage! I don't know where this suddenly came from, but tipping 30 euros for three simple, tasteless dishes is really going too far. Since when is it normal to tip 20%? Or did I miss something?

We went to the beer garden, which is only open on weekends. Scruffy and expensive, see price list. Currywurst with fries €12.90. There are nicer beer gardens nearby.

Very nice location and very friendly staff. The playgrounds are in very poor condition, with a high risk of injury. Beams are missing from the climbing frame, the swing has collapsed due to rotten wood, and the trampoline has broken steps. It would be great if these areas could be made attractive and safe again.

Disappointing experience; The staff showed no interest in me, even though there were almost no other customers there. Apparently, I wasn't interesting enough with my small order. Only someone, probably the manager or owner, was genuinely friendly. Then you order apple strudel with yellow cream. You get a small piece of something that looks like apple pie, definitely not strudel, and the yellow cream was missing. The whole place felt cold and uninviting. Fortunately, there are better, cheaper, and nicer restaurants in the area.

So, we've never been here before, but after our first visit, we would recommend this restaurant anytime. The schnitzel (Wiener veal schnitzel) was incredibly delicious, and what impressed me most was the Kaiserschmarrn, honestly the BEST I've ever eaten. The portion was generous; it could easily be considered a meal in itself. The three of us ate it – unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo. And the best part comes last: the waiter was super nice and accommodating. He was Greek, so you can tell their hospitable attitude. 😉 Thank you so much - Σας ευχαριστώ

Very friendly service. Despite the bad weather, we were served in the beer garden, as my father requested. The food was good.

I've known this place for a long time because it's within walking distance – about 20 years. The location is still beautiful, but the once high-quality beer garden furniture made of halved tree trunks with backrests has been replaced with this unspeakable gray plastic furniture, which has really ruined the ambiance. Likewise, the comfortable lounge in the self-service area has been removed and replaced with cheap beer benches. The food used to be reasonably priced and of significantly better quality. Today, they serve a simple Riesling for €9.60 per 0.1 liter glass – and it's poorly poured, too. Five asparagus spears cost a whopping €20 without a side dish. You can also order good juniper ham (3 slices for €6), and they serve you cheap cooked ham with flaxen. Although the items were replaced after complaints and your glass was refilled, you had to wait quite a while, even though there were maybe five occupied tables in the beer garden. The service is nice, just a bit slow and often absent. All in all, it's fair to say that the place used to be much better, as evidenced by the occupancy. It was a glorious sunny day, the view was stunning, but there was hardly anyone there. That speaks volumes, because back then, you were lucky if you even got a seat. Perhaps the manager should take this to heart: exchanging a high-quality and inviting ambiance for cheap plastic junk, raising restaurant prices, lowering quality, and ripping off guests on top of that is perhaps not the most sophisticated form of management...

We actually wanted to go to the beer garden! Unfortunately, it was closed. The restaurant was open. The food was absolutely delicious. The best cabbage roll I've ever eaten. The fried fish and potato salad were also delicious. The drinks, however, are far too expensive for the food. But I can recommend the place.

It had been a long time since we ate there, and once again we were treated excellently. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. No one here can say they weren't full. Yes, the prices have gone up a bit, but that's the case everywhere, and the bills have to be paid. But here, for your money, you get delicious food, good service, and an ambiance that you don't find very often in Munich. Right in the heart of the city, yet a world of its own. We'll be back.

We went to the self-service area today because we no longer like the waitress area. The atmosphere is lacking. It used to be so cozy. The beer glass was warm and completely overpriced for self-service. The older Bavarian grump at the cash register was ranting at the employees. No politeness at all. We certainly won't be going back. A very nice restaurant in a great area. Unfortunately, the Thai coconut curry had absolutely nothing to do with a Thai curry. It felt like just curry powder stirred into the sauce. It wasn't even slightly spicy. The Mediterranean vegetable rosti wasn't any better, unfortunately. It was just vegetables swimming in a lot of oil. Both dishes were bland and unloving. Surely you can make something good out of vegetarian dishes?! The fruit juice spritzers, on the other hand, were tasty and not too watery.

The quality of the food has deteriorated a lot. The roast pork was dry, the sauce and dumplings were ready-made products, the mashed potatoes with the cabbage rolls came from a bag, and the linguine with octopus was very neutral. Only the roast lamb was good. The drinks are very expensive. The waiter was extremely nice and the atmosphere is nice. We won't come anymore...

How have we not discovered this place before? The weather was very rainy so we sat indoors. We ate wild garlic soup, French fries and Mediterranean tarte flambée. Everything was very tasty. The fries were outstanding! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very calm. I'm sure this will be our new favorite place.

Disappointing service. After waiting 15 min, the waiter came and didn’t take my order. It seems they don’t want to get business from ppl. It’s a pity since their facilities for kids are nice.

Not expecting much from delivery, 40 minutes late when ordering online and cold food - never again.

Here too, prices have “developed”. The delicious pork crust roast was once available for €12. You used to be able to eat very well and very cheaply here - today it costs €19.99. I would have preferred if they had just deleted the “very”. ☺️

Price-performance disappointing. The ambience is inviting and cozy, but unfortunately the food and service cannot keep up.

One star is for the very friendly but helpless waiter. The food is terribly bad. The baked fish is inedible convenience food with more baking than fish and a 1 cm!!! thick breading, i.e. you had to look for the fish, topped with a potato salad ‘from the bucket’. So every canteen can do it better. 
Our neighbor at the table also complained about the lack of fish in the fried fish and the very friendly waiter informed the kitchen, but there was no response to his or our feedback. 
The roast pork was also a disappointment. Price-performance ratio is not right at all and the toilets are unreasonable. There were four of us and we won't be coming back!

Very nice locations. We had our Christmas party there. Even in front of a lot of people, the first people arrived almost at the same time. Very good food.

I ate a duck that tasted really great. Price is upper category! Beer too expensive at almost 6 euros.

At the end of November 2024 I invited you to the Gasthaus Hinterbrühl for my 40th working anniversary. Everything was super perfect. My colleagues really, really liked it. We sat for a long time and relived memories. You can't repeat a day like that. A day like this only comes once. And if this day isn't perfect because the inn doesn't cooperate, it's a shame. But that didn't happen here. I'm so glad and I was so happy that everyone liked it. We were there at lunchtime and had a menu and the last colleagues left around 10 p.m. That actually says it all. It was just a perfect day. Many thanks to the team and the restaurant management. Everything was just right, the advice before the event and the implementation.

Great as a location for company celebrations!

I was very disappointed with the vegetarian dish here. It was just half a sweet potato baked with some leaves on it, while meat eaters had a whole feast. The only good thing about the place was the very energetic wait staff. We will not be returning.

Very nice but remote location. There is no bus late in the evening, about 1 km to the subway. Company Christmas party, the food was bad - grilled fish had the consistency of a boiled one. I think it's best privately in the beer garden in summer. The prices in the restaurant are quite high.

It's a nice restaurant and very tastefully decorated. The crusty roast was excellent. The service was also attentive and very friendly. The food is good, traditional Bavarian with an Austrian touch. Unfortunately, the service staff is very disorganized and it looks like they have no gastronomic training. When the weather is good, the outside service area is very busy. Nice view of the lake.

In the afternoon between an autumnal walk I was there, outside at the table. I would have preferred to order coffee and Kaiserschmarren, unfortunately the waiter told me that Kaiserschmarren takes 1 hour. Now I just ordered a cappuccino. A small cup of cappuccino, at a not particularly good level of coffee, it cost €5.40!!!! Isn't the price exaggeratedly too expensive??? Service wasn't very friendly either. Too bad.

The service was incredibly slow. Dirty dishes were not cleared away but were placed on a high table next door. Ate a café and cake on the terrace in a beautiful location with a view of Lake Hinterbrühl. We found the prices to be too high for the small sizes. It's a shame, because the location is actually nice, and we've been there for dinner before, and the food was good, but even there the service was uncoordinated and slow.

Me and my husband wanted to eat a pumpkin ginger soup, what we got was not a pumpkin ginger soup, it had too much coconut milk like flour and there were lumps in the soup when I asked the waitress what that is, it doesn't taste like pumpkin ginger soup either He took the soup with him and then said that he asked the chef and he said he had cooked it fresh in the morning but couldn't tell us why the soup was like that and didn't taste like pumpkin ginger soup. Afterwards we both felt sick to our stomachs . I'm very disappointed and there wasn't even a clear explanation. Never again !!!!!

We celebrated our wedding here on the outdoor terrace and are still grateful for the wonderful evening. The support beforehand was excellent. You noticed an enormous amount of professionalism and also realistic advice about what works and what doesn't work so well, without trying to "sell" us anything more. Emails were almost always answered on the same day. Food/drink in a nutshell: great! All guests were happy. The two waiters, who were probably only responsible for us (we were "only" 35 people), were always there and immediately fulfilled even extremely short-term requests. Of course they were friendly too. All in all: Gladly again, definitely again, although perhaps not for the wedding ;-)... Thank you !!!

This Bavarian restaurant is in the idyll on the edge of the Isar meadows. Great location in the countryside, with a very large beer garden with and without service. The staff is very friendly, helpful, professional and competent. The food is original Bavarian cuisine and tastes excellent. Served beautifully with style. The rustically furnished restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Also suitable for events such as weddings or company celebrations. We will definitely come back after a hike or bike ride.

Very disappointed, we ordered four main courses, none of us liked the food. We told the very friendly waiter, who informed the kitchen. There was no further response. Very high prices.

A beautiful beer garden directly on the Isar. The fins from Wolfratshausen drive past the beer garden with music and a good atmosphere. A large screen was also put up for the football fans. The food came quickly and the staff was extremely nice. The stress was noticeable - a wedding, a baptism, a full beer garden and a full restaurant.... but as already written above, an excellent, courteous waiter. I like to eat the tarte flambée there.
