Very good food and beautifully located by the lake. I went here for dinner with a friend.

Unfortunately the roast pork was dry and the sauce was mixed. Service was good though.

The location is fantastic. Unfortunately, a lot of ready-made products are used when eating (dumplings, sauce, etc.) and the price is extremely exorbitant. Next time we'll go to the beer garden for the great view and location and bring our food with us.

Nice stop on my bike tour. Good roast pork knuckle with lots of crust with two dumplings and coleslaw. Gladly again.

The quality of the food has deteriorated a lot. The roast pork was dry, the sauce and dumplings were ready-made products, the mashed potatoes with the cabbage rolls came from a bag, and the linguine with octopus was very neutral. Only the roast lamb was good. The drinks are very expensive. The waiter was extremely nice and the atmosphere is nice. We won't come anymore...

How have we not discovered this place before? The weather was very rainy so we sat indoors. We ate wild garlic soup, French fries and Mediterranean tarte flambée. Everything was very tasty. The fries were outstanding! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very calm. I'm sure this will be our new favorite place.

Disappointing service. After waiting 15 min, the waiter came and didn’t take my order. It seems they don’t want to get business from ppl. It’s a pity since their facilities for kids are nice.

Not expecting much from delivery, 40 minutes late when ordering online and cold food - never again.

Here too, prices have “developed”. The delicious pork crust roast was once available for €12. You used to be able to eat very well and very cheaply here - today it costs €19.99. I would have preferred if they had just deleted the “very”. ☺️

Price-performance disappointing. The ambience is inviting and cozy, but unfortunately the food and service cannot keep up.

One star is for the very friendly but helpless waiter. The food is terribly bad. The baked fish is inedible convenience food with more baking than fish and a 1 cm!!! thick breading, i.e. you had to look for the fish, topped with a potato salad ‘from the bucket’. So every canteen can do it better. 
Our neighbor at the table also complained about the lack of fish in the fried fish and the very friendly waiter informed the kitchen, but there was no response to his or our feedback. 
The roast pork was also a disappointment. Price-performance ratio is not right at all and the toilets are unreasonable. There were four of us and we won't be coming back!

Beautifully decorated and worth a visit

Very nice locations. We had our Christmas party there. Even in front of a lot of people, the first people arrived almost at the same time. Very good food.

I ate a duck that tasted really great. Price is upper category! Beer too expensive at almost 6 euros.

At the end of November 2024 I invited you to the Gasthaus Hinterbrühl for my 40th working anniversary. Everything was super perfect. My colleagues really, really liked it. We sat for a long time and relived memories. You can't repeat a day like that. A day like this only comes once. And if this day isn't perfect because the inn doesn't cooperate, it's a shame. But that didn't happen here. I'm so glad and I was so happy that everyone liked it. We were there at lunchtime and had a menu and the last colleagues left around 10 p.m. That actually says it all. It was just a perfect day. Many thanks to the team and the restaurant management. Everything was just right, the advice before the event and the implementation.

Great as a location for company celebrations!

I was very disappointed with the vegetarian dish here. It was just half a sweet potato baked with some leaves on it, while meat eaters had a whole feast. The only good thing about the place was the very energetic wait staff. We will not be returning.

Very nice but remote location. There is no bus late in the evening, about 1 km to the subway. Company Christmas party, the food was bad - grilled fish had the consistency of a boiled one. I think it's best privately in the beer garden in summer. The prices in the restaurant are quite high.

It's a nice restaurant and very tastefully decorated. The crusty roast was excellent. The service was also attentive and very friendly. We were allowed to stay seated even longer, even though the restaurant was closed due to... was closed for a Christmas party. Thank you very much again for that. We'll be back!

The food is good, traditional Bavarian with an Austrian touch. Unfortunately, the service staff is very disorganized and it looks like they have no gastronomic training. When the weather is good, the outside service area is very busy. Nice view of the lake.

In the afternoon between an autumnal walk I was there, outside at the table. I would have preferred to order coffee and Kaiserschmarren, unfortunately the waiter told me that Kaiserschmarren takes 1 hour. Now I just ordered a cappuccino. A small cup of cappuccino, at a not particularly good level of coffee, it cost €5.40!!!! Isn't the price exaggeratedly too expensive??? Service wasn't very friendly either. Too bad.

The veal slices were ok, the spaetzle was very unspectacular. But for the price I would have expected more. Otherwise the establishment is fine.

The service was incredibly slow. Dirty dishes were not cleared away but were placed on a high table next door. Ate a café and cake on the terrace in a beautiful location with a view of Lake Hinterbrühl. We found the prices to be too high for the small sizes. It's a shame, because the location is actually nice, and we've been there for dinner before, and the food was good, but even there the service was uncoordinated and slow.

Kaiserschmarrn: small amount and completely sugary, moderately fluffy (13.99 at least an imaginative price formulation) Cappuccino good quality but at 5.40 for the small cup it's not even appropriate for Munich. Service nice

Me and my husband wanted to eat a pumpkin ginger soup, what we got was not a pumpkin ginger soup, it had too much coconut milk like flour and there were lumps in the soup when I asked the waitress what that is, it doesn't taste like pumpkin ginger soup either He took the soup with him and then said that he asked the chef and he said he had cooked it fresh in the morning but couldn't tell us why the soup was like that and didn't taste like pumpkin ginger soup. Afterwards we both felt sick to our stomachs . I'm very disappointed and there wasn't even a clear explanation. Never again !!!!!

I had my worst pumpkin-ginger soup, of course I didn't eat it and returned the payment immediately

Nice rustic Bavarian restaurant. Large beer garden and very nice view, nice, courteous staff 👍Playground and petting zoo for the kids or parents who are young at heart

We celebrated our wedding here on the outdoor terrace and are still grateful for the wonderful evening. The support beforehand was excellent. You noticed an enormous amount of professionalism and also realistic advice about what works and what doesn't work so well, without trying to "sell" us anything more. Emails were almost always answered on the same day. Food/drink in a nutshell: great! All guests were happy. The two waiters, who were probably only responsible for us (we were "only" 35 people), were always there and immediately fulfilled even extremely short-term requests. Of course they were friendly too. All in all: Gladly again, definitely again, although perhaps not for the wedding ;-)... Thank you !!!

This Bavarian restaurant is in the idyll on the edge of the Isar meadows. Great location in the countryside, with a very large beer garden with and without service. The staff is very friendly, helpful, professional and competent. The food is original Bavarian cuisine and tastes excellent. Served beautifully with style. The rustically furnished restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Also suitable for events such as weddings or company celebrations. We will definitely come back after a hike or bike ride.

We always enjoyed going to the self-service beer garden, nice and shady under the chestnut trees. Unfortunately, this is now also completely covered with huge parasols, so the heat builds up. A no go in midsummer temperatures. Unfortunately, the beer garden atmosphere was also lost. Too bad :-(

Very disappointed, we ordered four main courses, none of us liked the food. We told the very friendly waiter, who informed the kitchen. There was no further response. Very high prices.

A beautiful beer garden directly on the Isar. The fins from Wolfratshausen drive past the beer garden with music and a good atmosphere. A large screen was also put up for the football fans. The food came quickly and the staff was extremely nice. The stress was noticeable - a wedding, a baptism, a full beer garden and a full restaurant.... but as already written above, an excellent, courteous waiter. I like to eat the tarte flambée there.

Traditional Bavarian, hearty and good. When the rafts come by. ... after eating a walk around the lake. There's always something on offer... music, great...

We had a large pretzel, which unfortunately wasn't particularly good. Food in the beer garden is generally more expensive. Price €11 in the self-service area. Sanitary facilities could be cleaner. Otherwise the view is very nice

We, 12 colleagues, wanted to spend a nice evening and were bitterly slowed down: 10 minutes to get the menu, 40 minutes to get our first drink, then we were left dry - the bill was still decent: €9.80 for 0.2l of country wine Dirty glasses complete the impression

Review is about the beer garden: Very nice, shady beer garden, which is particularly recommended on hot days. Even then, the beer garden is not overcrowded. The selection of food is somewhat limited due to the small size of the beer garden. Ate chicken with fries. Chicken a little pale and seasoned sparingly. Portion of fries comes in a kind of ceramic currywurst bowl and is a rather small portion at €6.

Always absolutely satisfied! Great view and great food, after eating you can always stop by and see the rabbits and chickens, very cute! Always happy to come by :)

We were able to enjoy a great lunch in a very impressive atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and friendly at the same time. You don't forget experiences like that.

I had a very unpleasant experience at the Gasthof Hinterbrühl. I ordered a coffee for €4.90 and wanted to pay €5.50 with a card including the tip. The waiter then reacted extremely unprofessionally and said that it was absurd to pay by card because it caused too much bureaucracy. Before I wanted to pay by card, I even offered to go to the car and get change, but he refused. The conversation lasted 5-6 minutes, during which he explained to me in detail the bureaucratic effort involved in paying by card. I replied that I work in the catering industry myself and that card payments are normal these days, I know the problem and he shouldn't blame the problem on the customers. I was then treated condescendingly by the much older waiter who said that I couldn't have that much experience at my age. The whole situation could have been avoided if he had accepted my offer to get change from the car. Despite my tip and patience, he complained non-stop. Such disrespectful and unfriendly treatment of customers is unacceptable. This behavior completely spoiled my visit, and unfortunately I cannot recommend the Gasthof Hinterbrühl.

We had our company party in the beer garden. The ambience, we were among ourselves even though other guests were also sitting in the garden, was very cozy, the food was delicious and, despite the buffet, consistently fresh and to the point. But we would particularly like to highlight the service. . We didn't even have an empty glass, an unfulfilled wish, nor did we have to wait for anything. I have rarely seen service so on point. At this point, high praise. This won't be our last party at the Gasthof Hinterbrühl!!

I live in the area and actually love this place Unfortunately, there seems to have been a new tenant with new regulations for some time now Which are absolutely out of the question for me For example, you are forced to eat something in the afternoon if you want to sit on the beautiful terrace (which is almost empty). Cake and coffee are not enough, it has to be a main course otherwise you will be sent off Please go to the beer garden next door We left ☹️ A short time later we tried again, now hungry Service was okay (a bit strange atmosphere) food okay would give 2.5 points if it existed

The inn is within walking distance of StadtCamping München Thalkirchen. It's a pleasure to eat there - whether in summer or winter - it's just great there. The food is amazing.

The food is inedible and sometimes cold. The staff seems annoyed and unmotivated. You are surrounded by drunk men who are constantly shouting and shouting. There is celebration and shouting every day, which is why the neighbors in the area are annoyed. There is sometimes VERY LOUD MUSIC PLAYED until 2:00 a.m. There are people who want to sleep or have to get up early but this is not taken into account. I complained several times but NOTHING HAS CHANGED. I've already called the police. Not recommended 0 stars.

It was widely advertised everywhere that all European Championship games would be broadcast. When we wanted to watch the finale, everything was already closed. A huge disappointment and consumer deception!!! Also overpriced.

We were in the SB beer garden at a European Championship game. The clerk at the checkout was very unfriendly because we wanted to pay with a card. He just said that everyone only wanted to pay with a card and he didn't think that was funny and in a very unfriendly tone. Won't be going there any time soon

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday at the Gasthof Hinterbrühl. The service was just great. The service staff assigned to us was sensational and got everything straight to the point. Friendly, professional and very sensitive when the situation required it. The meal was delicious. It was perfect all-round care. The ambience cannot be topped. Thanks to the team at Gasthof Hinterbrühl, it was an unforgettable celebration for and our guests. Thank you very much!! We can only recommend the location and would be happy to come back ourselves.

Very expensive - quiet on a weekday

A traditional Bavarian restaurant with a wonderful terrace and beer garden. When the weather is good you can enjoy the very well prepared (dessert) dishes here. Every now and then a visitor comes by (see pictures) 😀 However, the interior of the inn is rather rustic.

Kitchen still worse than better in 2024 but nice surroundings and comfortable to sit and have a drink.

We have known this restaurant for a long time and can also recommend it if you are making a short stop in Munich. We usually eat outside in the back area - nice staff.

If you think it's nice when a proud rooster flaps its wings next to you while you're eating - it's better to cover the food beforehand! – and a cute chicken poops on the floor – be careful when getting up! – then you will feel comfortable here. If not, then just don't complain to the gentleman at the entrance to the garden. He takes this very ungraciously and becomes rabid. First he insults you (“You're sick in the head”), then he grabs you and tries to push you down the driveway. This is what happened on June 14, 2024 at noon. Incredible!

Food, ambience and service are good. Unfortunately, given the prices, especially the drinks, the store is like a pharmacy! A bottle of water for almost 10 EUR and the Aperol glass is still missing its contents. I wouldn't do it again.

We hadn't expected to be able to sit outside around 11:30 on Sunday, but it worked great under the great umbrellas. The staff was incredibly nice. My wife really liked the pumpkin cream soup with ginger. I enjoyed my roast pork, which was more like half a pork knuckle. The coleslaw with bacon was also delicious. The potato dumpling was okay, the bread dumpling was rather boring. Fantastic ambience, you can then go for a great walk in the Isar meadows. It was a great trip and we would love to come back!

Traditional Bavarian restaurant with a beautiful terrace and beer garden in a slightly elevated position above the street on Lake Hinterbruehler in the Isar meadows. Friendly, quick service, well-kept atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food was hardly average, the crust from the roast was plentiful but mostly tough, the roast was quite firm despite the early hour and a bit dry despite the generous amount of sauce (also a bit thin). The mini potato dumpling was ok (but more of a convenience product), the other equally small bread dumpling (was that really one?) was like concrete and completely tasteless. Given the high prices (20 euros for the crusty roast), in my opinion something like that shouldn't be possible. And the drinks in particular are overpriced (5.80 half). It was a nice day, but unfortunately not great food.

This is just an incredible place in a super beautiful location! Suitable for traveling with children, for weddings and for get-togethers with friends. A huge territory, a zoo and two playgrounds.

Really nice area, view of Hinterbrühler See. Near the Isar. Unfortunately very expensive and poor quality food. Pollock from a freezer pack and “forest mushrooms with dumplings” exclusively with mushrooms for 20 euros...

It's a shame that the cakes are frozen when prices are so high; at €5 you can expect fresh goods. You could buy it from local bakeries...
