We spontaneously decided to have lunch at the Gasthaus Zum Schwaben today. We didn't have a reservation. The portion of Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We even got some helpful tips for our vacation.

A wonderful restaurant with attentive service, just as you'd expect: friendly and focused on the guest's well-being. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were excellent, and contrary to my usual habit, I didn't even need to add any extra seasoning. Even days later, I still have fond memories of dinner here. Definitely recommended.

During our stay in Füssen, we ate here twice, and both times the food was delicious. It's also relatively inexpensive and highly recommended. However, making a reservation is advisable.

We all had a delicious meal, and the food and service were wonderful. The only downsides were the €4.50 charge per cola and the fact that no complimentary bread was offered. It’s clear you’re paying a bit for the location, but overall, we had a great dining experience and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

The quality of the dishes was very good. The prices are reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended! Advance reservations are advisable.

A warm welcome, but unfortunately, the dishes served were all very disappointing and tasteless: cordon bleu, roast pork, and Wiener schnitzel. We don't understand all these positive comments because nothing apart from the service saved the poor quality of the food.

We were looking forward to cheese spaetzle, and after several attempts in Füssen, we finally found authentic, homemade, and flavorful spaetzle. Despite the restaurant being packed, the staff were friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thumbs up!

We were lucky and got a table without a reservation. The service was fast, attentive, and really cheerful. Their recommendations were excellent. It's always worth checking the daily specials. Mostly great, regional dishes or, for example, delicious game specialties. The soup of the day and, above all, the incredible spring rolls are a must. We had a fabulous evening and will definitely come back if we're in the area.

The food was okay. Nothing more than average. The waitress was friendly until she felt she received too little tip. I've never been treated more disrespectfully in a restaurant since then.

With every 5-star review, it certainly becomes even more difficult to get a seat. But anything else would be a lie. Delicious, refined food, attentive and friendly service, and a modern, traditional ambiance. I'd gladly go back!

This was my second time here...I was really looking forward to the roast pork, which I also had two weeks ago...and what can I say...a poem. And now to Monica...I've had many waitresses in my life...she's not only incredibly pretty...she also does remarkable work, with such calmness and endless friendliness.

In this highly touristy area, it's actually quite difficult to find a place where you can enjoy excellent food. The "Zum Schwanen" inn is a definite exception! We eat here often and have always had excellent meals. The menu is relaxed and straightforward, and the prices are reasonable. The local dishes are of very good quality and creatively presented. The service is excellent. Reservations are recommended. In good weather, you can sit under umbrellas at the bread market.

The food is really good and prepared to a high standard. However, the prices are clearly geared toward tourists – a side salad for €7 is quite steep. However, those willing to pay a little more will get solid food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Definitely worth a visit! We arrived just before the kitchen closed (9 p.m. - as of 8:25 a.m.) and were still not turned away. The ambiance inside was very pleasantly timey, the lighting perfectly suited the mood. The service was very prompt and friendly, and the food, all in all, was very good: For starters, we had bread with herb butter and the "Hearty Beef Broth from Tafelspitz," both of which were very good. However, the herb butter was quite thick, which made it difficult to spread. The broth was very good, with fritaten and "Weißwurst dumplings" (white sausage dumplings) and fresh chives. For main courses, we had the "Original Wiener Schnitzel from Bavarian milk-fed veal," which I (shame on me) ordered with fries instead of potato salad. The schnitzels weren't the biggest, as is typical in most restaurants. They tasted very good, but the breading wasn't crispy and airy as intended, but rather moist and sticky. Hence the deduction for the food. We also had "THE cheese spaetzle," which were fantastic. Delicious onions on top and super creamy cheese. The spaetzle were homemade and therefore particularly good. There was also a side salad, which was particularly good. We can't say what was in some of the ingredients, but it was absolutely delicious. In summary, we can say that it was a very successful visit, with only a few shortcomings. If we ever go back to this area, we'll definitely come back.

Very warm welcome, especially when you don't speak a word of German! Very pleasant setting on the terrace in August. Very good value for money, the plates are very generous, we enjoyed Bavarian dishes. A bit like our Flemish estaminets in France, don't hesitate to stop there before or after a stroll in the old town.

We just had lunch at the Schwanen on a recommendation. Almost all the tables were occupied. We were served quickly. The vegetarian dishes are particularly excellent. My husband ordered the Córdon Bleu, I had the mushroom tart, and we shared a side salad. It all came together. My husband really enjoyed it, and I also tried the fries, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. He said the portion could have been bigger, but he was still full ☺️ My tart was beautifully presented; it was truly something special. I liked the details, like the pickled vegetables. It was tasty. The side salad felt like it had been dressed for a while; it could have been a bit crispier. The service was friendly.

On a recent holiday in Germany we stayed two days in Fussen to visit King Ludwig's castles and take the lake cruise. Walking round the town we found this restaurant where we enjoyed the first evening's meal so much we booked for the second night as well. The Head Waiter speaks excellent English, welcomed us warmly and gave us some helpful advice. The food and service were first class. The atmosphere was just what one should experience - couples, small groups and families clearly enjoying an evening meal together in a quiet environment. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful lunch at Zum Schwanen in Füssen. Everything we tried was fresh, flavourful, and satisfying. The meal began with a hearty beef soup, followed by a delicious mushroom cake — beautifully presented with a refined mix of textures and flavours. It was easily the highlight of the meal! We also enjoyed a traditional cabbage roll and a locally prepared red sausage, both well-executed and full of authentic taste. The service was quick and welcoming, especially thanks to the kind assistance of a helpful lady who made our experience even more pleasant. A great spot for a relaxed and high-quality lunch in the heart of an old part of Füssen. Great value for your money. Very recommended!
