Et behageligt sted at spise. God og venlig betjening. Maden var veltillavet og der var rigeligt af den. At kokken fik lavet den forkerte ret betød ikke noget. Det smagte også godt.

Minimalist, loveless design and dirty tables without a trace of hospitality. Overwhelmed service, even with 3 guests! The food tastes so semi, but far from a good and traditional Indian. Overpriced prices that are disproportionate. I left half of the dish and the dessert was a disgrace. Cheap sugary yogurt with 5!!! Crumb pistachio nuts. Conclusion: Never again!

Goode food, good service, however 3€ for a glass of water is wild

The first time we went there we were blown away by the food and the service. This time both were slightly below our expectations. The samosa in the samosa chat was not fresh and burnt while reheating. Butter chicken was better than other Berlin Restaurants but still not upto London/India standards. Amritsari kulcha chhole was top notch and so was Palak paneer.

We went to the restaurant after 6 months almost as we liked the food then and were let down by the flavours. The flavours while authentic, were bland and definitely need to pack a punch. The chicken biryani was fairly decent, the let down was the bready texture of the naan. The saving grace was the service which is great, very attentive and helpful. I would also recommend the mint lemonade and mango lemonade, which were very refreshing. If the food flavours are pushed more, would definitely come back.

What a great highlight of our Berlin trip. From the stunningly good food to the courteous, committed and warm service staff, everything was perfect. We were there twice and will come back when we are in Berlin. We say thank you again and look forward to next year.

Great food and great service - highly recommended We went there twice during our visit to Berlin. The food and service completely convinced us the first time. The employees are very courteous and customer-oriented. A table was brought especially for us so that we could eat outside. The food is convincing across the board. We had butter chicken and chicken with peppers and onions. Plus Raita. As a snack beforehand there was toasted bread with spices. Everything great. On the second visit we were greeted as if we were regulars. The employee even remembered what we had ordered two days before. The next time we are in Berlin, we will definitely eat here again.

Wir sind den guten Google Rezensionen gefolgt und haben heute bei GapShap zu Abend gegessen. Wir hatten nicht reserviert und wollten draußen sitzen, leiderwarenallePlätzebesetzt. Zwei Mitarbeiter haben Tisch und Stühle gebracht und zusätzlich aufgestellt. Total nett und ein toller Service. Die Karte ist übersichtlich und nicht überfrachtet- trotzdem fiel die Entscheidung bei dem guten Angebot nicht leicht. Der Service war äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam in einer für frisch zubereitetes Essen angemessen Zeit und war sooooo lecker. Insgesamt eine schöne Erfahrung - wir kommen gerne wieder.

Insanely delicious food. Compared to other “normal” Indian restaurants, you can experience a completely new taste experience here with very authentic preparation. Even my friend, who doesn't like Indian, thinks the food here is excellent.

It’s hard to find an Indian restaurant in Berlin that is consistent in making the same dishes good every time, but this one does it. I have had dishes from here multiple times, ordered at home and even dined in at the restaurant, and every time the experience was great. The food was full of flavours and tasted fresh. The quantity was great too. The Chole Kulche and Paneer Tikka Masala are much recommended. The staff was very polite and helpful. The prices are on the higher side though, specially for some sides. One feedback to the restaurant would be to serve some salad along with the food. Keep up the good work!

I found the prices to be too high for the quality of food offered. The dishes were not flavorful, the portions were small, and they didn't use high-quality ingredients. Additionally, the lemonade, which was essentially a red syrup, was overpriced. The tea was just hot water with one lemon slice. Finally, the bathrooms were dirty and in need of renovation. The only positive aspect was the friendly waiter.

GapShap blew my mind. The tandoori chicken was perfectly grilled, with a smoky flavor that was simply irresistible. The masala sauce was incredibly fresh and bursting with rich, authentic spices. And the garlic naan? It was soft, warm, and perfect for scooping up every last bit of that delicious sauce. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

For some time now, this small Indian restaurant has been an insider tip for fans of truly Indian cuisine. We've been there several times now and have never been disappointed. The dishes are all prepared very differently, you can taste the different ingredients, the meat is good, the vegetarian dishes are excellent. Gap Shap is pleasantly different from the average Indian restaurant in Berlin and is more reminiscent of the delicious Indian restaurants in London. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

A slightly different Indian - and very good. We had a very nice evening here with great, authentic food and very attentive service. There was even a surprise for the birthday child from the owner - simply very warm and hospitable.

If you want your standard chicken tikka masala, combined with an 0.4l cocktail, where they squeeze half of a pineapple in it, then this is not the restaurant for you. If you want to experience authentic streetfood from India, with a twist, please go ahead and enjoy their dishes to the fullest. Please do yourself a favor and order the Pani Puri with the coriander water - that is a 10/10!!!

Friendly and delicious food. The lamb sukka was delicious, lean and tasty lamb, well spiced and seasoned. The chicken kariba was wonderful as well, never had steinblume before, very rich and interesting flavour. Lovely attentive service, drinks came with a small snack. The decor is very nice too, creates a warm and appealing atmosphere.

We've been here a few times, the last time 4/5 months ago. As always, the food was great and the service was friendly and attentive. However, there was also little to do: when we arrived at 8:30 p.m., the eight guests left and we were the only ones from 8:45 p.m. Otherwise it was always packed here... Panic set in when we asked for a wine cooler for our wine bottle. There was a frantic search for one and so we asked that the wine simply be put back in the fridge. No problem. Ultimately, after a few minutes, a cooler was found. We asked several times for the music to be turned down a little, which happened and then it slowly became louder again. As I said: several times. Entertaining was difficult. Shortly after half past nine there was a loud scrubbing in the kitchen, we were actually sitting with another glass of wine. Employees stood behind the bar and in the restaurant (between the bar and the door) staring at their cell phones, which were loudly blaring all the Instagram or TikTok noises in the room. Plus the loud music. We were no longer surprised that the GapShap was so empty on a Saturday evening. When you have to keep asking for the music to be turned down because the four of you can't have a conversation and you also have to listen to the noise from the employees' cell phones over an hour before the official closing time Standing in jackets at the bar and in the restaurant simply ruins your evening. We won't be coming back again.

The chai with complimentary fritters (pakoras) are the best part of the experience here. You guys know that's Indian hospitality :) I liked the Samosa chaat , but the flavours of tandoori chicken didn't fulfill my Indian roots . Though Its better than the usual dish one gets in Berlin . I also did not get the idea of serving it with rice . What kind of combination is tandoori chicken with steamed non flavoured basmati rice and on top one needs to order for some tandoori sauce or makhani sauce or raita to consume with the rice. First of all the combination of steamed rice and tandoori chicken is not Indian. Tandoori chicken is consumed as a starter with mint chutney or even with Naan or any other Indian flatbread . Secondly if you are serving rice with tandoori chicken then include the curry or sauce for consumption . I did not want to pay extra 4.5 euros for the sauce on top of the whooping 19 euros for the main course and the food was too dry to like it. Then the lamb chettinad was decent . The dish looked nice , the paratha already went soggy under the lamb which in itself can still be improved in terms of flavours. I will try something else from the menu next time. It feels nice to dine in the newer batch of Indian restaurants in Berlin without Germanized "Chicken mango" in their menu (Iykyk! ) , they do influence a lot in changing the "Indisches" culinary scene of Berlin and I wish Gapshap and its team to keep up their work :)

This is the best Indian restaurant we have been to in Berlin. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is authentic and delicious. If you're in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf make sure to try it out - you won't regret it.

A little more expensive than “ordinary” Indian restaurants, but the cuisine here is more creative and of higher quality than you are used to.

This restaurant is a well-beloved part of the cheerful and chique Güntzelkiez; I come here regularly and have yet to be disappointed. Among my favourite dishes are their Butter Chicken and Kashmiri Rogan Josh. Dishes have enticing and complex layers of spices, true to authentic Indian cuisine. The staff always receives you warmly and does their utmost to fulfill your requests. Immer wieder gerne!

Had their delicious “Amritsari Chole Kulche” which was beautifully spiced! Was a great dinner and really enjoyed their Shikanjavi because it wasn’t sweet but very refreshing! There wasn’t a lot going on, on a weekday, so do pop by if you’re in the area for some great food and friendly service! I’m half Indian and it was really authentic - will be back/order in sometime soon!

I went for dinner here. I ordered Dal Makhni and Chicken Chettinad along with paratha, roti, and naan. Chicken Chettinad is one of the best dishes they serve. To be honest, this was better than what I had back in Delhi. I asked them to make my dishes spicy according to Indian taste, and they made it to perfection. Chettinad chicken was perfectly balanced in flavor, and coconut was used in the right amount. A little more would have overpowered the dish. Coming onto Dal Makhni, this is one of the restaurants that serve good authentic North Indian style. It was buttery and creamy to perfection. On top of this, they serve some complimentary snacks, which were unique and tasty. They were little pieces of bread deep-fried and had some seasoning on top of them.

Hands down- best Indian food in Berlin.

Wir sind große Fans vom Schwester Restaurant Bahadur, und waren gespannt was uns hier erwartet. Die Karte soll näher an Indien sein, anderes bieten, und lässt sich das auch entsprechend vergüten. Die Einrichtung ist gelungen, ob sie höhere Preise rechtfertigt? Als Vorspeise Chicken 65 - das hatte ich mal selber gemacht, und war sehr gespannt. Es hat eine Weile gedauert, daher dachte ich, es wäre frisch frittiert, leider kam lauwarmes nicht frittiertes Chicken, sehr scharf gewürzt, mit einem Mini-Töpfchen Sauce. Hmmm, da hätte ich mehr erwartet bei 10 EUR. Als Hauptspeise dann Rogan Josh. Das war ordentlich Lammfleisch, geschmacklich aber eher unspektakulär. Schlägt mit 18 EUR zu Buche. Hmmm. So richtig überzeugt war ich nicht.

Made a reservation online and told them in advance, that we would bring a dog. They called immediately to confirm the reservation. 30 minutes before the reservation they called again, to tell us it’s too crowded for a dog and tried to send us to a different restaurant, even though we were already on our way.

Kleines Restaurant, das an diesem Abend stark besucht wurde. Wir hatten Lammkotletts mit Sauce und Reis bestellt. Die Kotletts haben durchschnittlich gut geschmeckt, das Verhältnis Knochen zu Fleisch lag bei 50:50. Das Fleisch war har und trocken. Saucen, Reis und Mango Lassi waren gut. Der Service war charmant, aber nicht der deutschen Sprache mächtig. Das GapShap ist hochpreisig.

Freitag Abend: voll, eng, laut, aber das Essen hat allgemein gemundet. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Andere Karte als Bahadur, die selbe sehr gute Qualität!! Sehr zu empfehlen

The restaurant presents a modern vibe from outdoor decorations to inside in every detail including dish presentation. As appetizers we had the Papdi Chaat and Naidu‘s fried chicken. Both were stunning and tasty. As an entree we had vegetable curry rice with naan, which was also satisfying. They present broad and different varieties from south to north Indian dishes as well from the street foods to home dishes. The twist from traditional to modern ambiance is great and I would love to visit again!

Wir entschieden uns aufgrund der guten Google Bewertungen für dieses Restaurant. Als erstes aufgefallen ist uns die recht unbeholfene Bedienung, welche die Befürchtung bei uns auslöste, dass das servierte Essen am versehentlich auf unseren Kleidern landen könnte. Die Angst vor Flecken blieb nicht die einzige unliebsame Überraschung. Vielmehr war das Essen eine reine Enttäuschung. Wer sich echtes indisches Essen gewohnt ist, wird hier enttäuscht. Geschmack und Qualität des Essens haben uns - gerade im Hinblick auf den hohen Preis - nicht überzeugt.

Lovely place, I would say that you make reservations since it gets full and has limited seating options. The place is great to have the Amritsari Chole Kulche, I would definitely recommend it. The staff is friendly and service is quick. It serves a nice bread starter as complimentary with drinks. Had a tea after the meal which they serve in small glass cups like the ones at a tapri (nostalgic)

Super lecker und ein schönes Ambiente!

Wir waren bei GapShap während des Onam Fest. Es gab ein Spezialangebot bei dem man sehr viele verschiedene, vegetarische Gerichte aus Indien probieren konnte. Auf Wunsch gab es immer wieder Nachschlag. Die Gerichte wurden auf Bananenblättern serviert und man hat es mit der Hand gegessen. Sehr coole Erfahrung. Wirklich jedes Gericht war sehr aromatisch und lecker. Die Bedienung war auch freundlich und besonders aufmerksam.

Ein Inder der anderen Art! Indisches Street food vom Feinsten mit Gerichten, die ich bisher von indischen Restaurants in Deutschland nur selten kannte. Freundlicher Service, moderne Einrichtung, Essen super!

Location: Nette Location, wenn es voll ist etwas laut, ein paar tische auf dem Gehweg. nichts besonderes aber alles sauber. Service: netter sehr freundlicher Serhioce, manchmal etwas langsam was aber ganricht schlimm ist. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Küche: Sehr leckere Gerichte. Wir waren noch nie in Indien, fanden die Gerichte auch anhand der Beschreibungen sehr autenthisch. Zum teilen sehr scharf und Pikant, alles frisch gekocht, was man an der Wartezeit merkt. Ein Lichtblick zwischen den ganzen indischen Ketten und to Go Läden in Berlin. Fazit: Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen wieder!

Ich bin gekommen, um Pani Puri zu kosten. Das Essen sind alles sehr lecker, die Bedienung ist auch super nett.

We visited Gup Shup restaurant, Berlin recently. Ordered the Classic Mezcalita and floating monk for drinks. Both were really good! Loved the Chilli by the rim touch for Mezcalita drink. For starters, got the Samosa Chaat. It was authentic and really tasty. For the main course we got the Paneer Tikka Masala & Lachcha Parantha. It was delicious and filling. However, in comparison with the other Indian restaurants the price was higher and the quantity was lesser. Nevertheless there was no compromise on the taste. The ambience was amazing! Had a wall full of old hindi movie posters. We sat indoors and it was quaint :) Overall a really good experience. Would highly recommend! On weekends they have a special menu from 12 PM to 4PM. We went on the weekdays, so couldn't try that.

Toller, aufmerksamer Service mit guten Empfehlungen. Gute Weinkarte mit wechselnden Tagesempfehlungen. Interessante, besondere indische Gerichte nicht der 08/15 Inder! Wer mal richtig gut „anderes“ Indisch essen will ist hier richtig. Unter den Vorspeisen ist das Pani Puri zu empfehlen. Authentisches Indisches Street- und Fingerfood. Guten Appetit.

Service war gut aber hat teilweise sehr lange gedauert. Essen von mir war gut, hatte aber auch schon besser beim Inder gegessen - Preise gehoben. Alles in allem eine gute Entscheidung, kann man nicht viel falsch machen.

Endlich einmal authentische indische Küche weit weg vom Berline Inderallerlei. Auf der nicht überlangen Karte wunderbare, schmackhafte und individuell gewürzte Gerichte. Selbst der Nachtisch wie in Mumbai. Das Ambiente eher schlicht aber gepflegt. Der Service sympathisch, freundlich und aufmerksam auch bei vollem Restaurant (unbedingt reservieren). Der Chef achtet darauf, dass alles läuft. Eine gute Empfehlung. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

The food is really, really good it reminds me of the indian food. They offer real Indian authentic taste. The only thing is the price and quantity they offer. Which should be improved. The prices are a little higher side as compared to the quantity they offer. Complimentary friend bread really tastes good. No complain about the food or service. Both are the best. It would be good to have an appointment during the weekend. I would highly recommend the restaurant. It's near U Bahn. Keep it up, guys. I will definitely visit again for sure.

Ich war nun schon vier mal dort zum Essen. Der Service ist freundlich, zuvorkommend und professionell, aber nicht zu steif. Gute Wein-Auswahl und dazugehörig eine gute Beratung. Ich habe mich schon ziemlich durch die ganze Karte gegessen und jedes Gericht war sehr gut und authentisch, so wie ich das vorher nur in indischen Restaurants in England gegessen habe. Jede meiner Begleitungen, ob Freund oder Familie, war immer zufrieden mit dem Essen und Besuch im Allgemeinen. Höchst empfehlenswert dieses Restaurant. Gehört zu meinen Top 3 der Stadt!

Jetzt habe ich doch glatt vergessen Fotos zu machen. Das wird beim nächsten Besuch - der steht garantiert bald an - nachgeholt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, aromatisch-ausgewogen gewürzt und wohldosiert geschärft. Die Neubewirtschaftung ist ein kulinarischer Quantensprung! Auch der Innenraum wurde schön saniert. Die Karte ist erfreulich übersichtlich und hält einige Gerichte vor, die es nicht bei jedem Indischen Restaurant gibt. Ein Besuch lohnt sich nun definitiv auch aus anderen Bezirken der Stadt. Schade, dass hier nur wenige kleine Tische auf dem Gehweg gestellt werden können. Als heimwerkender Anwohner hoffe ich, dass es bald auch einen Mittagstisch gibt.

After many years in Berlin, I rate this restaurant to be the best tasting Indian food in Berlin. The service is also quick and especially their Biryani and Chilli Chicken are the best.

It is really a good Indian restaurant .We loved the carrot halwa. And we enjoyed all food.

Ist besser als der normale Standardinder, aber nicht alles war gut und interessant und die Preise sind so dermassen teuer, dass es den Unterschied gar nicht berechtigt. Das Service war relativ verwirrt und viele Sachen kamen nicht gleichzeitig und sie waren überall und nirgendwo. Schade, ich mag "Bahadur" des gleichen Besitzers (obwohl dort auch Sachen schwanken), und hier war es nicht gut. Wir wohnen nebenan - aber ich werde nicht mehr hinkommen.

Wonderful and authentic Indian food. By far the best in Berlin. We have come with family and friends visiting from out of town and they also rave how good it is - favorites are Bhatura, Naidu‘s fried chicken, chicken Korma, vegetarian samosa, and pani puri (interesting with concoction of spicy tangy water). Highly recommended but always ensure to reserve as the restaurant is not that big.

Sehr authentische indische (Streetfood-) Küche bietet das GapShap. Die Portionen sind gross. Ordern Sie lediglich eine der famosen Extra-Saussen zum Teilen, denn auch die Saussen kommen in grossen Schalen. Die Weinpreise sind (in Berlin leider keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr) fair. Man bekommt eine Flasche excellenten Rosé für 26 EUR. Der Service ist freundlich und wenn es mal klemmt, dann ist sofort der Chef zur Stelle, der sein Restaurant bestens im Griff hat.

mein liebstes indisches Resturant! meine Familie kommt selbst aus Indien und ich esse sehr gerne hier. Außerdem der einzige Laden in Berlin den ich kenne der Pani Puri verkauft (mein Lieblibgsessen). 1-2 vegetarische Optionen mehr würden mich trotzdem freuen:) würde jedem hier ein Besuch empfehlen ❤️

Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl, der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Das Essen ist sehr sehr - geradezu phänomenal - gut. Die Preise sind fair! Es ist ein umgebautes Ladenlokal mit - etwas größerem - Nebenraum. Im ehemaligen Laden (teilweise gefliest) sitzt man doch eher ungemütlich: es ist (sehr) laut. Im Nebenraum ist es hübscher, nicht ganz so laut, aber ziemlich eng. Dennoch: Das Essen macht die Defizite wett!

Ganz einfach das beste Indische Restaurant in Berlin. Toller Streetfood als Vorspeise und die Hauptgerichte sind ein Traum. Preislich etwas gehobener als ein Standard Inder, aber jeden Euro wert. Für 2 Personen inklusive allem, ca 90 EUR bezahlt. Wir sind bald wieder da

Tolles indisches Restaurant im Güntzelstrassen-Kiez. Zur Überraschung gibt es auch südindische Spezialitäten wie Pani Puri oder Chicken 65. Pani Puri sind knusprig ausgebackene hohle Teigkugeln, vegetarisch gefüllt und frisch mit gewürzter Flüssigkeit aufgegossen, lecker. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt, das Lamm auf einem Brot war sehr gut. Wir kommen sicher wieder.
