Cozy place near Checkpoint Charlie. Polite service, delicious food.

Fantastic food and excellent service! I recently visited the restaurant and loved it! The food was excellent – ​​especially the bacon and beef Burger that was incredibly fresh and delicious. The portions were generous and very attractively prepared. The service was first class: the staff were friendly, attentive and always tried to make our visit as pleasant as possible. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, clean and inviting. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food and great service.

The food was okay, but the service was only interested in tips right from the start and you were laughed at if you just rounded up and “didn’t tip enough.” A waiter commented: “no more money?”. Several such comments were made while paying.

Salad plates are good, can recommend those. Lasagna was watery like a soup and barely contained any meat. Tomato soup also not good

We planned to have dinner somewhere near Checkpoint Charlie. Without reservation, without plan. At some point we stumbled upon this restaurant. Rather inconspicuous from the outside, it makes a spacious, clean impression from the inside. We promptly got a table (with 5 people) and were served SO friendly (I think the good man's name is Luis), I haven't been served so friendly and warmly in a long time. Pizza very tasty! Special requests and intolerances are addressed without hesitation. I would go here again and again! The pizza was a 12/10!🍕🍕

We ate there as part of our holiday and were warmly welcomed and served, even though we showed up just before the store closed. The portion was very reasonable for the price and the owner is a very charming and funny person. The atmosphere is great and we felt very comfortable! We will remember this evening very fondly and will definitely come back on our next visit to Berlin. Greetings to the owner from the couple from Aachen!

Very nice shop, beautiful space, clean, pleasant service and finally great pizzas, nice tiramisu. We didn't try anything else, but it looks good.

Great experience! Service and food were quite good. Very reasonable prices. Dinner for 2 including desert and several glasses of wine was €80.

Because nothing else worked, it was actually an emergency solution! Thank God. We couldn't have done better in a hurry. It was good, service was good and the corner was really exciting when it came to Berliners in their vehicles - better than a cinema!

Nice restaurant but too simple. I had a honey goat cheese pizza with nuts and figs. Unfortunately, with little goat cheese, a few messy nuts, and 2-3 figs lost in the mix. Good pizza but too classic, especially for this price. The same goes for my friends' dishes, good but nothing more.

I ordered pasta carbonara and the food was delivered an hour late. I contacted the restaurant but they weren't very friendly and didn't help me either. Of course, when the delivery came, I wasn't home because I had to eat something. The food was just left in front of the door as if I could still eat it. Never again in my life.

The service is good and quick. Just to let you know that in winter it closes at 22:30. It's a must visit place if you come to Checkpoint Charlie.

Despite the location being populated by tourists, you can get something to eat here during your lunch break at a fair price. You order at the counter and pick up the food there yourself, so I didn't rate the service, but the staff is very friendly. I've been here 3 times now and would love to come back. I found the four cheese pizza (No. 101) and the vegetarian pizza (No. 97) very good at a price of around 10 EUR.

Italian dishes are obviously not Italian but an imitation. However, it deserves 4 stars because it is still close to a point of interest and above all for the much lower price than average. Worthy of note is the tiramisu, very good and with a large portion.

The only negative I have is that the QR code that supposedly links to an English menu doesn’t work but our waiter was happy to translate. The pizzas were tasty and our teenager gave the burger and fries a 5/5 review. Which for them is something. Great atmosphere and wait staff.

OK. This is serious. I do not know what was better burger or pizza, that I have a chance to try there. Both taste amazing, and it is decent size dishes. You definitely need to pop in there, especially when visiting "Check Point Charlie" as the restaurant is just around the corner.

Well, the service was good. Nice friendly guys are working there. But the pizza that we ordered was so mediocre that even a pizza vending machine can do better for half price. I read reviews saying about some special atmosphere there. Idk, guys, the regular restaurant: tables and chairs, nothing special at all.

Surprisingly really good! Being near a touristy area I didn’t have high hopes. Pizzas here are delicious. Highly recommend the Burrata pizza.

La Gino is a small restaurant with a very good and fast service team. The food was very tasty (lasagna and pizza Hawaii). What I particularly liked was that it wasn't too loud. Discreet background music was played, which made it easy to have a conversation. My conclusion: If you like Italian food in a quiet atmosphere, you should just go here.

Went there for dinner with a group. A bit crowded in the restaurant, but okay. The service was very friendly and quick. Everyone will find what they are looking for on the extensive menu. Good value for money. Portions are large enough, but still leave room for dessert

Just next to the famous Checkpoint Charlie, there is La Gino, an authentic Italian restaurant and more. Not only does the menu offer a wide variety of high quality sizeable pizzas and pastas, they expand their menu with other options as well. I myself chose the penne arrabiata, which were perfectly spicy, cheesy, and salty, but none too much. The person in the flamboyant beard and moustache and cap, who I can only assume is the owner, came to check on us with a level of simple nonchalant enthusiasm that all of the service world can learn from. The waiters that assisted him were quick in their handling and were always there at the right times. The desserts were of very good quality, to the point where one of us regretted that they didn't order any. To top this all off, the prices were very low, despite the service, speed, and quality of the food. The staff clearly have fun and take pride in their work, and should be commended for doing so.

I went to this restaurant today with my wife and son. The ambience was appealing. The food was good. The portions were large. Unfortunately a little too big for my son. I wish there had been a children's portion for my son. But unfortunately there is nothing there for the little guests. My wife had the Pizza Milano. Unfortunately, she didn't like the salami at all and there wasn't enough tomato sauce on this pizza. That's why my wife didn't finish this pizza. Now let's come to the waiter with a hat on his head who served us today. Unfortunately, he was very unfriendly to us towards the end. He asked if he should pack the pizza to give to us. We denied this. He then picked up the plate and rolled his eyes. The waiter then brought us the bill when we asked. We paid by card. The waiter had forced his way and really wanted a tip. Of course he didn't get this from us for his appearance. He then rolled his eyes again and walked away without saying goodbye. In our opinion, this was unfortunately very poor service and also a reason for us not to eat in this restaurant again!

CHECK THE BILL BEFORE PAYING!! They add extra things and if you ask about it they say that that was the tipp (It said Non alcoholic drink)... That was totally unnice since they did not inform us and we still added a extra tip on top of the one they already put. Liying to the customers is unnacceptable. Not comming back ever and not recomending to go there. Pitty, I just live 1 minute from there and the pizza was good.

The pasta was good, we took simple penne with tomato sauce... We didn't like the margherita pizza because it had both basil and oregano.... In short, it's not done!! It’s a cute little spot in a very businessy area. My husband and I like to go there after work sometimes. The food is good but truthfully we always just get snacks and drinks so I can’t really comment on it. But honestly the best part about being there is Sam, he’s an amazing server that always takes the best care of you. He is super friendly, speaks English and German and always is smiling. You don’t get the best hospitality in berlin all the time so it’s really great when you do.

Very, very tasty....great pizza and salad...unfortunately it is very loud in one part of the restaurant...door to the outside open...a double-decker bus stops in front of the door every few minutes. Bench super low. We'll still be back...Make sure you get the best table ;) Food is simply great.

Best nonkebab place for very late dinner in the neighborhood

My partner and I ate here this evening. We both thought the food and service were excellent. You can clearly see the food preparation area and it looked very reassuring. Despite being in a tourist area, close to "Checkpoint Charlie", the prices were reasonable. The staff speak good English and the 1970s British music was an added bonus! Many thanks!

During my last visit to Berlin we ate at La Gino. I have to say that we weren't disappointed. Great quality of food. Very nice restaurant. Very nice staff. It was just a pleasure. I will definitely go back to Eesen next time.

The owner bullies people who stand under the awning for 5 minutes when it rains until the bus comes and then retracts the awning so that everyone gets soaked and now guests can't even sit outside.
