I would like to complain about an unpleasant experience at your restaurant. We were a group of 13 people. Unfortunately, the doorman refused to let us in without giving us a reasonable reason. The doorman's rude behavior was particularly disappointing. Instead of speaking to us respectfully or suggesting a solution, his tone was very unfriendly and disrespectful. Such behavior is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of your caliber.

!!!!!! I WOULD LIKE to RECEIVE RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!! I had a reservation tonight for four people at this restaurant, where I’ve been a loyal customer and visited several times before. I’ve always appreciated the atmosphere and the quality of service, which makes what happened tonight even more disappointing. When we arrived dressed elegantly for what was meant to be a classy evening with my guest the bouncer at the entrance acted in an extremely rude and disrespectful manner. Without any explanation, he refused to let us in and said he would cancel our reservation himself. When we calmly mentioned our booking, he suddenly started shouting and insulting us in front of others. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, especially toward returning customers. It was a humiliating experience that ruined our evening. I truly hope the management takes this issue seriously, investigates what happened, and ensures that no other guest experiences such treatment in the future.

The doorman shouted at us and said ait here — I’m cancelling your reservation right now. I won’t let you in!” My guests were shocked. I’ve never experienced such aggressive and humiliating behavior at any restaurant. To cancel someone’s reservation at the door and yell at them instead of offering any explanation is beyond unprofessional — it is really disrespectful. I was also in this restaurant before but please think twice before you go there. Avoid this place at all costs. No restaurant is worth being treated like this.

The service is warm and welcoming. The food was excellent. The ambience and music will enhance the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual meal or a night out, it’s a spot that leaves you fully satisfied.

Smoking is no longer allowed inside, but the staff doesn't inform everyone. The staff is inconsistent; some were allowed to smoke even though they were told otherwise, others weren't. For €1,000 in sales, the table is no longer worth it.

I've been to Papillon several times on weekends, and it was always packed, the cocktails were delicious, and we had a great time. Last week, however, I finally tried the food and absolutely loved it. The service was truly excellent—attentive, competent, and very friendly.

First things first restaurant that claims to be “luxury” restaurant could at least clean the terrace from leaves that are here, overall look is nice but everywhere is mess, tables not cleaned, chairs are dirty, dirt on the floor. Secondly, poor stuff experience, need to ask twice to get a menu and then to order (took us 40 min). The food was good and cocktails are nice, but at the end of the evening instead of asking if we would love another drink or desert, because we were waiting the menu and ability to order for 40 min, they just pointed out that the table is reserved for 2h only and we must leave soon. I find it unacceptable and extremely unprofessional in restaurant that pretends to be one step ahead the others. To wrap this up, food is good, cocktails as well, but due to the poor service won’t recommend to anybody.

Terrible Experience ://:/// We had one of the worst experiences of our lives at Maison Papillon. We were four young women (ages 20-26) who had reserved a dinner table for four. I personally called the restaurant to make the reservation, and at no point was I told that there was any kind of “age rule” about needing to be over 25 to go to the bar after 11 p.m. Even if that were the case, it didn’t matter because we already had a dinner reservation and weren’t planning on going to the bar. When we arrived, there were two men (one African and one Arab) standing at the front door. They suddenly went inside, came back out, and told us that our dinner reservation had been canceled—without any explanation. I told them that I never canceled and that we were here, on time, ready for our table. Instead of helping, they insisted our reservation was gone. What made it worse was how intimidating the situation became. A very large man with wide shoulders and strong muscles stood in front of us, blocking us from entering. It felt unnecessary, unprofessional, and frankly threatening to put a big man in front of four young women just to refuse us entry. We felt completely disrespected and scared. Meanwhile, we watched as other people were allowed to go inside with no issue. It was humiliating and frustrating, especially because we had dressed nicely, were excited for a girls’ night out, and had been looking forward to making good memories together. Instead, they ruined our evening before it even started—at 8 p.m. I dine out often and love trying different restaurants, but this was by far the most unwelcoming and disappointing experience I’ve ever had. Canceling someone’s confirmed reservation at the door, treating guests with such disregard, and intimidating them with security is unacceptable. I would never recommend Maison Papillon to anyone.

I celebrated my birthday there yesterday with over ten guests. In total, we spent more than €2,000 eating and drinking. Despite this special occasion, I was evicted by security at the end of the evening. The reason for this was an argument with an elderly lady who was responsible for cleaning the restrooms. Her behavior, in my opinion, was completely disrespectful and intrusive. Even on the first visit to the restroom, my boyfriend noticed that she was constantly present, intrusively asking for tips, and even complained after receiving €5 simply because, in her opinion, he used "too many tissues" to dry his hands. Later, when a friend and I used the restrooms, she stood right next to the urinals, spoke to us, and looked at our private parts. Despite repeated requests to stop, she continued to harass us. My boyfriend finally told her in a more forceful tone that she should leave and respect our privacy. The lady then approached the doormen and described the situation in a completely one-sided manner, even though there were several witnesses. The result: We were evicted. We will now file a criminal complaint for harassment and coercion. Under these circumstances, I cannot recommend a visit to this restaurant to anyone as long as it employs staff who behave in this way. My friends and I have always been generous regulars who enjoyed eating and celebrating there. However, until there is an official statement, apology, and clear consequences from the restaurant, we will avoid the restaurant. To make matters worse, the food was disappointing: The pasta was rock hard, even after we sent it back to the kitchen. We've experienced much better quality there. All in all, it was a very disappointing evening, even though I just wanted to celebrate my birthday in a pleasant atmosphere.

To anyone reading this: beware. If you value respect and fair treatment, think twice before going here. Management needs to fix this and stop letting the Doorman/Bouncer ruin nights for guests. On Saturday night, 30 August 2025, around 22:30, I had a very bad experience at this place. I went to join my friends who were already inside, but the Doorman/Bouncer, who seemed to be supervising the door staff, was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. He ignored that my friends were waiting for me and made me wait without explanation at the main entrance. He then repeatedly asked me where I am from. I told him, “Why do you ask me where I’m from? This is a private question. You can’t ask people this as a bouncer.” Despite this, he used my refusal to answer as a reason to deny me entry. This behaviour was racist, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Because of this, I had to call my friends outside to say goodbye, which ruined my night and theirs. This incident affected not just me but my friends’ night as well. A night out should be about enjoying yourself with friends, not being treated unfairly at the door. Management must take responsibility for this incident, address this behaviour immediately, and ensure no one else is treated this way. Everyone deserves to be admitted based on who they are, not where they come from.

We reserved a table at Papillon on Saturday. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service was also exceptionally good. It took a bit longer to get our drinks order, and the main course also took a while to arrive – but we were offered shots on the house, which made up for the disappointment. The food was of very good quality, though not exceptional. The sushi selection (3 inside-out rolls + 2 nigiris for €24) was particularly tasty, but the value for money wasn't exactly commensurate – five for that price is quite high. In total, we had four cocktails, a bottle of wine, two courses each, and a dessert. The bill was correspondingly high, which we expected and were happy to pay – including the tip. Unfortunately, the lovely evening was ultimately overshadowed by a very disappointing experience: We wanted to order an Espresso Martini (listed on the menu as €17) at the bar. After a long wait, the bartender came with the card reader and a bill for €50 for two cocktails. The reason: cocktails become more expensive after 11 p.m. However, this information was neither noted anywhere nor communicated to us when ordering. When I pointed out that I wanted to pay the price listed on the menu, the bartender took the cocktails without comment and tossed them away. In my opinion, this is unacceptable treatment of guests – especially after an expensive dinner, one should expect transparency and fairness to be a top priority. Our waiter's subsequent comment that prices were being raised to encourage guests to order bottles doesn't improve the situation. I come from a hospitality background and now work in food purchasing. I am aware of the costs and margins that are common in the industry. I have never experienced such behavior before – and it's a real shame that an otherwise enjoyable evening has had such a bitter aftertaste.

What a disappointment! We had high expectations – and have rarely been so disappointed. The service was simply a disaster: It took forever to even acknowledge us. We ordered entrecôte, medium rare, and received a piece of meat that was overcooked, completely dry, and grilled to death. A complaint? Sure – but the replacement only arrived after 40 minutes. Unfortunately, it was just as bad. Cooking a steak takes five minutes, if you know how. Apparently, they can't do it here. Just as we were about to finish at least the rest of our meal, the next blow came: The staff wanted to clear our table and pressured us to leave. Absolutely disrespectful. Things didn't get any better at the bar: Two bartenders for a packed club – pure chaos. When we finally got around to ordering, the bartender made a stupid remark because he couldn't get us paid fast enough. And the icing on the cake? While everything inside is in absolute chaos, the club owner is circling the entrance in his Rolls Royce like he's the king of Berlin. Maybe he should be taking care of his team and the place instead. Summary: Overpriced, arrogant, and completely incompetent. Anyone who values ​​good service, quality, and respect is in the wrong place. Never again!

This is a place where you will feel the worst.. and don't expect that they are waiting for you there with open arms.. already at the entrance the security guard can tell you that you do not meet the standards and ask you to go your own way.. and it doesn't matter at all what you look like and how much time you spent getting ready.. just because he decided so.. There's absolutely nothing to offer in terms of cuisine here. The food was a complete disappointment: no exceptional flavors, and the selection was very limited. The focus of the store is more on "see and be seen." Ultimately, it's a limited experience.

The food is okay to good. The greeting at the cloakroom and the escort to the table are always very friendly. The service is rather inattentive, or rather, not particularly outstanding. The cocktails are really good. From a purely culinary perspective, I personally wouldn't specifically recommend this restaurant, or go there for that reason. The club-restaurant concept is what makes this place special. If you want to party right there after dinner, this is the place to go. Very nice interior. You have to like the clientele. After a certain time, table reservations are only possible with a minimum spend.

I visited this establishment in classic clothes: a gray sweatshirt, a neat and tidy overall appearance. However, at the entrance, security refused to let me in, saying that I needed to be in a white shirt. At the same time, other guests walked in freely in black T-shirts and sneakers. Such a selective approach seems unfair and left an extremely unpleasant impression. I would like the dress code rules to be clearly spelled out and applied equally to all guests.

Lukewarm cocktail, burnt sourdough bread, tasteless "tomato salsa," and a ceviche that was warm, fishy, and completely inappropriately prepared (at least it was taken off the bill). No one asked for wine, and while the service was attentive, their full attention was focused on the Rolex wearers who drove up in lowered AMGs and ordered champagne. You sit outside at dirty tables. The live music was far too loud and intrusive. We left after 30 minutes. Absolutely disappointing for the prices.

We were there for a stag night, and I have to say that both the food (although the tiramisu was quite alcoholic) and the atmosphere were truly something. The first waitress was pleasant during the conversation, but as we left our table, we noticed that this was more of a fake politeness and that she seemed rather annoyed. Generally speaking, this place isn't my kind of place. Many people seemed very arrogant, and you had the feeling you were constantly being scanned. It starts with the doorman and doesn't stop in the restaurant.

The facade is fancy, but inside, hypocrisy and narrow-mindedness reign – especially at the door. Management hides, security compensates for its complexes, the clientele – well, depending on who happens to be slipping through. A place for people with no self-esteem. P.S. I sincerely recommend being more selective in your staff – especially at the door. And, judging by the stories, the 25+ rule seems to be applied more optionally to barely legal girls.

Easily one of the best restaurants i’ve ever tried in Berlin. Amazing amazing Tuna Crudo!! and the Seafood Rigatoni is a must try!!!! don’t forget to add the Truffle Spinach too❤️❤️ Vibe is awesome and plus a totally cool DJ playing house music during dinner time. The place itself is pretty big with plenty of seats, they have an indoor and outdoor bars as well.

Certain dishes are very delicious. Some aren't anything special for the price. However, the cocktails are really good, and in the evenings, you can dance a bit between the tables, which is nice. The servers are always friendly; I've never had a bad experience there. The front door isn't a pretty sight; it's best to just get in your car right away and not look left or right.

I wanted to enjoy a nice evening there with my wife, but we were simply turned away without explanation by a blond man. When I asked why, he didn't answer and was very rude. The place wasn't particularly busy; there were only one or two cars parked there, so I wouldn't recommend it.

As a tourist visiting Berlin, I went to have dinner on Wednesday night and I had a disappointing experience here. I ordered fries with the lime & Tajín mayo listed on the menu. The waiter suggested truffle mayo, which I declined. Despite this, he brought the truffle mayo anyway. I reminded him of my original order, and he took it away and said he would bring the correct one. The food also took a long time to arrive even though there were barely any people there! To be fair, the burrata was unique and enjoyable, but the rest was very basic and the cauliflower popcorn was too salty. I was shocked to later find out I was charged €10 just for the truffle mayo – which I never had and was a mistake on the waiter’s end. In total, I paid €16 for fries which is crazy! Unfortunately, I only realised this the next day while checking the receipt, as it was late and I was tired after dinner. This felt like I was taken advantage of for being a tourist. I’ve attached a photo of the receipt and the food so others can judge for themselves. Overall, very overpriced for the quality and not worth it.

From start to finish, our visit was simply perfect! The welcome was warm, the service extremely attentive, professional, and yet pleasantly relaxed. We immediately felt at home. The food was fantastic – perfectly flavorful, creatively and lovingly presented. The drinks were perfectly mixed and wonderfully rounded off the overall experience. I've made a reservation more than a week ago to celebrate my birthday, me and a friend of mine, yesterday, we came after we took uber 30 minutes drive to hear the selector says that they canceled our reservation without even letting us know or talking to us with the excuse their is too many guys, although we came for dinner, don't go if you don't want to waste your time. We try to talk to the manager and get answers but no one responds, they act in a disrespectful manner and I don't recommend you to go their. They don't respect their clients and their time, not a nice place to be, its a shame. I truly recommend you to go to grace (great restaurant that we ended up at with good vibes). They lost their clients.

We drove over 600 km extra to Berlin and reserved a table weeks ago. The strange blonde lady with the tablet in her hand looked at us strangely at first, we knew she was looking for something so she wouldn't let us in. I have visited this place several times in the past and have never encountered any issues entering the bar. However, during my last 2-3 visits, I have repeatedly been denied entry without a clear explanation. I would completely understand if this were due to a dress code or other stated policies, but that does not seem to be the case. The situation is quite confusing and disappointing.

This was our second visit to Papillon, and while the ambiance and music were as lovely as we remembered, the overall experience this time around didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We were the only guests during our visit, which made for a quiet and intimate setting — but also an odd one. The crew spent most of their time cleaning, rearranging decor, and even standing on the bar to dust glasses. Despite this, the service remained attentive and helpful, answering all of our questions with warmth and professionalism. The staff truly made the best of an unusual situation and helped create a pleasant atmosphere. The design of the restaurant is still stunning — visually refined and thoughtfully curated. However, compared to our first visit, the food fell short. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near the level we previously enjoyed, making the high prices feel unjustified this time around. There were also a few practical issues: the women’s bathroom door didn’t close properly, and one of the sinks was out of order — not what you’d expect in a place that presents itself as high-end. Lastly, waiting for an Uber afterward felt uncomfortable, as the entrance area didn’t feel particularly safe or well-lit, which left a lasting impression for the wrong reasons. In short, Papillon still has potential, but this visit left us unsure if we’ll be back again. The details — both in service and in setting — matter just as much as the food, and unfortunately, this time they missed the mark

I was really looking forward to a nice evening, but unfortunately the Papillon was a complete disappointment. The service was inattentive and almost seemed annoyed - as if they were intruding if you politely asked for something. The food? Completely carelessly prepared and tasted underground. My main course was lukewarm and the side dishes were soggy. The absolute low point: A long, dark hair in the middle of the meal. You really lose everything. When I reported this to the waiter, all I got was a tired “Oh, I'm sorry,” without any offer to replace the dish or show any other accommodating gesture.

Unfortunately the quality was not the same as before. The servant kept forgetting our orders. Half of the steak was medium well done and the other was medium rare. From such a known restaurant, I was expecting top service.

I would like to share the deeply disappointing experience I had at this restaurant, which completely ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. From the moment I arrived, the service was disorganized and unwelcoming. There was no one at the reception to greet or guide me, and when I asked a staff member inside to take my coat, he rudely replied that it wasn’t his job. I eventually found my table where my family was already seated. The menu offered very limited choices. We requested to have the ham removed from a pizza for dietary reasons, but the staff refused, claiming they couldn’t modify the dish. The manager, a blonde woman, responded in a rude and dismissive manner. Service was extremely slow, both in bringing the food and between courses. I had asked for my steak to be well done, but it was served rare. When I requested it to be cooked further, I was told—again rudely—that they were preparing a new one. However, after waiting 30 minutes, it was clear they had just reheated the same piece of meat. To make matters worse, the birthday cake I had specifically ordered was not respected—they brought a completely different one. Overall, the service was appalling, the staff were careless and rude, the food quality was average at best, and the prices were unjustified. This was absolutely the wrong place to celebrate a birthday, and it ended on a very negative note.

Unfortunately an absolute disappointment! There were four of us at the Papillon in Berlin and we all had stomach problems the next day - that doesn't speak for the quality of the drinks. The prices are completely exorbitant, especially considering the poor quality of the alcohol. The atmosphere? More appearance than reality. The store seems more like a catwalk for self-promoters than a bar for enjoyment. The guests and staff mostly seemed arrogant and arrogant. A better door policy is urgently needed. Definitely not a recommendation!

Traveled especially from Munich and made reservations. Appearance was super elegant and appropriate. The very anti-social bouncers didn't let us in without giving a reason. One word for this restaurant: overrated. For these prices the food is really not good and not at all consistent. The ambience is quite nice and our waiter was nice too. Late in the evening it became more crowded and we were told that there is now a new concept where you can only go to the real party if you "buy" a table for 750 euros. The clientele was also rather unpleasant.

Bouncer was unreasonably aggressive and restaurant manager was very unfriendly and rude as well. Food was very mediocre. At least the service and hostess were very helpful and friendly.

VERY UNPLEASANT Bouncer AND WEIRD RESTAURANT MANAGER I've been here several times and have been relatively satisfied so far. The food is ok, so the price is steep but that is to be expected given the location. Last weekend I was there with a few guests from Düsseldorf and Cologne. We left a lot of money to celebrate and also to eat. A friend of ours (over 25, appropriately dressed, very pretty and friendly) came a little later. Unfortunately, a bouncer approached her for no reason and told her to leave because she wasn't allowed in??!! After several polite inquiries about the exact reason, we were simply told that they didn't have to give us any information about this. I then asked the restaurant manager nicely if there was anything they could do - especially if you had a table and your food had already been ordered. Unfortunately, his answer was very cold: because they were separate areas and as a MANAGER he couldn't do anything but probably didn't want to. To be honest, I find it very rude and not particularly professional how we were treated - especially when you run an establishment like this. Everything could have been said in a more polite tone and offered “solutions” (for problems that didn't really exist), but that wasn't done. After the campaign I would advise anyone not to visit this restaurant. Given the price range, you can expect decent manners!

The place is beautiful and the service is really good. However, the food is really bad. We order a pizza and some starters. The food was cold and greasy. The atmosphere is cool, there is a dj, after a while it becomes more like a bar. However, we ordered some gin tonics, and in my opinion were overprice considering they didn’t served in the proper glass for gin tonics. The restaurant is nice, but the quality is not the best taking into account what you are paying

Real highlight! There is a great atmosphere, especially on weekends when it becomes a club. The food is delicious and the variety of dishes is impressive. What's particularly great is the combination of restaurant and club, which makes it a perfect place for an evening of good food and lots of fun. Recommended for a relaxed evening or a special event!

You can still work on the service at the table, there is definitely still room for improvement! I give the store one star because the operators take zero care of guests or calls etc. I made a reservation and paid €100 in advance. Then on New Year's Eve when I was standing in front of the door with my friend there was no entry. The people at the door are unreasonable, even though we have traveled 300km. And to prevent these things from happening, I called at least 25 times to clarify everything. Nobody even answered. Then I thought ok, everything will go smoothly. Well, pocket money, don't interact with guests. Ignore everything. This is an impudence and fraud.

They kicked us out of the nightclub because one worker from you had discussion with my friend and she lied to the bodyguard, she told him that my friend hit her and is false. Wir waren auf Empfehlung in diesem Restaurant. Der Service war super, Ambiente war nicht so angenehm, auf schick gemacht, aber leider hört man die Bahn sehr stark. Speisen waren überdurchschnittlich teuer für die Qualität. Das Ambiente bekommt man in anderen Restaurants auch geboten nur noch mit guten Speisen.

Wir haben sehr lange auf die Hauptspeise warten müssen bis schon die Musik so laut war dass man sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr verstehen konnte. Zum Glück ging das Licht erst aus als wir gerade fertig waren (und es war noch nicht mal 23 Uhr). Die Bedienung hat uns nach der ersten Bestellung nicht einmal gefragt ob alles okay ist oder ob wir noch was trinken möchten. Also während wir 1,5 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet haben, saßen wir auf dem Trockenen. Schade.

I received a message fromPapillon/OpenTable that said I was a no show for our reservation that was to occur 4 hours later that day. We still walked there and they would not give us a table, even though I had a confirmation. They didn’t blink twice saying “you aren’t eating here tonight.”

So the situation is really terrible. The Zoo train station is really disgusting and you have to go straight past the homeless people to get to the restaurant. But once you're in the store, you think wow... something so fancy is hidden here? The ambience is great at first, but once you're at the table it's not so nice anymore. The sofa seats are terrible. At first you sit really low at the table and I felt like a child. Then the covers are soooo dirty, stained and you can see that they were there when people still smoked in bars because there are burn holes everywhere. That's not suitable for a restaurant like this, it's completely incomprehensible that it won't be renewed. The food was good, but not great. For the price I would expect better. The staff was very nice and friendly. I definitely won't go there again. There are much better restaurants.
