Papillon Restaurant & Bar in Berlin

The place is beautiful and the service is really good. However, the food is really bad. We order a pizza and some starters. The food was cold and greasy. The atmosphere is cool, there is a dj, after a while it becomes more like a bar. However, we ordered some gin tonics, and in my opinion were overprice considering they didn’t served in the proper glass for gin tonics. The restaurant is nice, but the quality is not the best taking into account what you are paying

Real highlight! There is a great atmosphere, especially on weekends when it becomes a club. The food is delicious and the variety of dishes is impressive. What's particularly great is the combination of restaurant and club, which makes it a perfect place for an evening of good food and lots of fun. Recommended for a relaxed evening or a special event!

Cool location, food, nice drinks and late night club! A concept that really works! The food was very good. The prices are justified. You can still work on the service at the table, there is definitely still room for improvement! For example, if there is a 2021 wine on the menu, it is inconvenient to serve a 2023 wine without comment. There are huge differences! The ladies at reception do a great job! I give the store one star because the operators take zero care of guests or calls etc. I made a reservation and paid €100 in advance. Then on New Year's Eve when I was standing in front of the door with my friend there was no entry. The people at the door are unreasonable, even though we have traveled 300km. And to prevent these things from happening, I called at least 25 times to clarify everything. Nobody even answered. Then I thought ok, everything will go smoothly. Well, pocket money, don't interact with guests. Ignore everything. This is an impudence and fraud.

We celebrated New Year's Eve there. Unfriendly staff. Price-performance ratio is not right. No dance floor at a New Year's Eve celebration is an absolute no-go. Way too crowded.

They kicked us out of the nightclub because one worker from you had discussion with my friend and she lied to the bodyguard, she told him that my friend hit her and is false. They kicked us out for no reason at 3:00am and we want an compensation otherwise we will report you.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung in diesem Restaurant. Der Service war super, Ambiente war nicht so angenehm, auf schick gemacht, aber leider hört man die Bahn sehr stark. Speisen waren überdurchschnittlich teuer für die Qualität. Das Ambiente bekommt man in anderen Restaurants auch geboten nur noch mit guten Speisen.

Wir haben sehr lange auf die Hauptspeise warten müssen bis schon die Musik so laut war dass man sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr verstehen konnte. Zum Glück ging das Licht erst aus als wir gerade fertig waren (und es war noch nicht mal 23 Uhr). Die Bedienung hat uns nach der ersten Bestellung nicht einmal gefragt ob alles okay ist oder ob wir noch was trinken möchten. Also während wir 1,5 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet haben, saßen wir auf dem Trockenen. Schade.

I received a message fromPapillon/OpenTable that said I was a no show for our reservation that was to occur 4 hours later that day. We still walked there and they would not give us a table, even though I had a confirmation. They didn’t blink twice saying “you aren’t eating here tonight.”

So the situation is really terrible. The Zoo train station is really disgusting and you have to go straight past the homeless people to get to the restaurant. But once you're in the store, you think wow... something so fancy is hidden here? The ambience is great at first, but once you're at the table it's not so nice anymore. The sofa seats are terrible. At first you sit really low at the table and I felt like a child. Then the covers are soooo dirty, stained and you can see that they were there when people still smoked in bars because there are burn holes everywhere. That's not suitable for a restaurant like this, it's completely incomprehensible that it won't be renewed. The food was good, but not great. For the price I would expect better. The staff was very nice and friendly. I definitely won't go there again. There are much better restaurants.

This is not a place for normal people. Only consumer divas and older gentlemen looking for superficial company meet here. The atmosphere is artificial and you feel out of place when you just want to have a pleasant evening. Anyone who values ​​authenticity and real encounters should avoid this place. Zuerst einmal sehr schwer zu finden - EMPFANG ok. Stühle sehr klein und unbequem. Raumtemperatur sehr kalt- vor allem für die Jahreszeit geradezu gefühlt wie "Draußen sitzen "! ESSEN war soweit "sagen wir ok "- doch nicht der "HAMMER. "! PREIS-LEISTUNG waren nicht gegeben, ich denke hier besteht NOCH genügend Spielraum . Die ATMOSPHÄRE war durch den ungemütlichen Eindruck und der "viel zu lauten Musik nicht geeignet einen angenehmen und entspannten ABEND zu verbringen"- somit muss man fast schreien, um mit dem TISCHNACHBARN zu kommunizieren. Gespräche sind dadurch unmöglich, es sei denn die anderen-viel zu nah stehenden TISCHE werden dadurch Zeugen der UNTERHALTUNG. Somit hat man das Gefühl der kompletten ENTFREMDUNG zu seinem gegenübersitzenden Partner. Das nutzbare Valetparking sollte bei einem derartigen Haus "ALL INCLUSIVE " SEIN und nicht extra kostenpflichtig! ZUSAMMENFASSEND kann man feststellen, das "Große WOW " hat somit nicht stattgefunden ! SCHADE - WIR HATTEN UNS SO AUF DIESEN ABEND GEFREUT.

A lot of homeless people live next to the restaurant, and that's what the surrounding area looks like. A train crosses the bridge at short intervals, which sounds as if the train is passing behind you. Service wasn't attentive enough, we had to constantly draw attention to ourselves! Papillon is a special place. Interior is absolutely stunning! The lighting makes you feel so warm and cozy but classy at the same time. The food - seriously talented chefs are cooking in that kitchen for sure. Every dish was a banger. After our meal we went and had cocktails at their bar, just wow!

Great cuisine, impressive atmosphere, charming service and perfect drinks! My recommendation: definitely try the Picante with Volcán Tequila.

The location is really beautiful, especially outside, great colors, beautiful light, wonderful! Overall, the food and drinks were above average, even if I found the espresso martini a bit watery. We had a very pleasant, authentically friendly employee (with Asian roots) for our table. So much for the positive. What really shocked me a little was the audience. I just say Silicon Valley! Especially the women... inflatable boat lips, giant horns, etc. - I always thought such total works of art only existed as an Insta filter. Every now and then I discreetly have something optimized, but what's jumping around... The dialogues that I heard on the toilet also fit the cliché exactly in terms of IQ. We were at Papillon on Saturday and had a lovely evening there. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was great too. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The party that followed was pretty cool too. The only thing that's not so pleasant for us is smoking when the party starts. But you have that everywhere.

No show policy is 72€pP. The food is good. Not bad, not overwhelming. Try cauliflower popcorn and truffle pizza. If you want to keep your table after 11pm you are asked for 300€ minimum bottle spend. At 11pm the lights are dimmed and the volume is turned up. It’s house music. About that time people are walking past you to get into the bar/club area of the place, like it or not. People are diverse; we had some ladies in ball gowns celebrating someone’s birthday and some fashion people as our neighbors. All in all: it was a fun night!

My girlfriend and I (26 and 22) planned to spend a great, fun evening at Papillon last night. For which we made ourselves very chic and elegant. However, when we stood in front of the entrance, the BLONDE bouncer said in a very condescending way that it was an over 26 party. We were very confused because we saw friends there who were about 20-23 years old. We found it very strange because we often eat at Papillon. We are deeply disappointed because we really enjoyed the food, the service and the parties. It's very unfair to be lied to just because the BLONDE bouncer apparently has something against us personally. We also researched beforehand and didn't see/read anywhere that it was an over 26 party. WE ASK FOR BETTER HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

I am very disappointed with the Papillon! I wanted to spend a nice evening there again after a long time (about 6 months). When we arrived with 3 other friends (with table reservations), the blonde-haired bouncer sent us away. For no real reason, despite the table reservation. It was on Friday evening, September 27th, 2024 at 11 p.m. I would understand if she told us that there were no seats or only special guests... we prepared so much for the evening, watched the Instagram stories and were there on time. She made us feel like she was something better and seemed very arrogant. But behind us there was a group of three with slightly older men who looked wealthy and she let these men in without asking any questions. This is very unfair. The last few times I was there with my group of girls there were no problems.. I immediately ask them to hire better and friendlier staff.!!!

Gut aber nicht super. Essen top, aber war letztes Mal sogar besser. Sehr viel Personal, aber irgendwie stehen alle gefühlt nur rum und man wartet 30min auf‘n Drink, der dann 20€ kostet?! Schon sehr laut und die U- und S-Bahn macht es nicht besser. Also generell einen Besuch wert, aber mehr auch nicht besonders bei den Preisen.

Wenn man die Absicht hat, nur Getränke zu bestellen, ist vll ausreichend. Fliegende Wesen mögen besonders die mit Geschmacksverstärker gewürzte und verkohlte Fleisch-Gerichte.

The noodles are great, so we ordered them again straight away, but everything else is pretty average. Nevertheless, thanks to the entertainment program, you can spend a great evening with friends here. Order more to drink, less to eat.

Unfortunately it's not a place I would return to, smoking is allowed in the place. The smell and smoke were unbearable. I don't recommend it.

Great atmosphere, great ambience! But we came to eat, among other things, and that was really bad, I'm sorry. We had the Papillon salad and a truffle pizza each. The pizza was indistinguishable from a frozen pizza. A little truffle on top e voila. It's a shame actually. My gin and tonic wasn't anything special either. It was my first time at Papillon and I immediately found the decor very nice. The terrace is also very airy with light furniture despite its small area. The selection of dishes really appealed to me and the starter salad was very tasty. The service was good - one star deducted because we were there at 6 p.m. and were sent away again because it didn't open until 7 p.m. that day. There was no information about this on the website or anywhere else and when we returned unfortunately there was no aperitif on the house. Sorry, but that's a no go.

It was a nice time overall, made a reservation for 19:00hrs for 3, to celebrate the birthday of my friend. We were ushered in gracefully and also seating options for inside or on the terrace were offered. The menu has a nice variety of different types of food, ranging from beef, chicken, veg, and also seafood. The service was amazing and the staff was nice, polite, and professional. Will go back again

Very nice location. Great interior, a jewel under the bridge. The outdoor area is also a really good place in summer. We ate the entire menu. The starters are great, cleverly made and taste outstanding. Highlight cauliflower popcorn. Failed the salad. The main courses are rather average. Focus on the main ingredient (beef or octopus) with very little sauce, little to no side dishes! Service friendly but everything very slow. We were one of three tables at the beginning and it took forever for the aperitif to arrive. Overall, solid, chic and good starters to share. It's better to take more of it. Main courses should be revised again.

I go here often. Food was always good. Allergies are well addressed and a solution is found. The truffle pizza is always good.

The security guards outside this restaurant were absolutely unacceptable. They were rude and made us feel unwanted. Your behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. It's a shame that such a beautiful place is overshadowed by such poor security practices. I definitely won't be back and I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone under these circumstances.

I've been to Papillon several times on the weekend and it was always packed, the cocktails were delicious and we had fun. Last week I finally tried the kitchen and thought it was really great. The service was really excellent - attentive, competent and very friendly.

Simply horrible….I don’t know where to start! Maybe by the “doorman” who made an extremely inappropriate remark about my wife’s age…but hey, there are imbeciles everywhere. But then let's talk about the food, a shame people pay for that and it's a shame! I ordered my starter which arrived cold and the main which took longer to arrive than my plane ride from Brussels! The only positive point of this restaurant is the directly accessible exit.

Then we come to music, i understand it’s house, but we have house music that you play at 6 pm for a nice cocktail at a rooftop with a nice view, then we have House music for 1 AM, the DJ clearly doesn’t know the difference, around 1:30 AM lot of people left, and since we had a reservation and an order of two bottles, we couldn’t just leave! So yeah, I think this place is overrated ( for nightlife) , worth it to visit once maybe for food..

We were there on a Saturday evening. Very well dressed and wanted to end the evening comfortably. When we got there we were greeted by a lady in English and she said you can't come in here. When asked why, the answer is: Because I decided so! In general, this is a catering business and it's all about the guest and if a guest is already making their way across half the city, then you can be grateful for that and train your staff at the door to thank the guest first and foremost for being there came and then briefly explain why it is not possible today and make a new reservation directly at the door. That would be professional and humane. If the management contacts me, I will be happy to adjust my rating after another visit because this rating only relates to the reception!

Food was amazing. The duck breast was spot on 👌The servers were very nice and welcoming. Atmosphere is very cool! It’s an Instagramers holiday 🥂 The service however…. Not very attentive on your drinks, which was a massive let down. Felt like we had to constantly wait and ask for another drink. We were charged 7 euro for a tap filled bottle of water which was to be honest… just tap water. The price of the food would have been worthy for it not to be let down by the lack of attentive service we received.

Unfortunately the last time in the Papillon. Extremely disappointing.

Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience at Papillon last night. I actually really like this place and visit the restaurant regularly for dinner and drinks, unfortunately after yesterday's event I won't feel comfortable there anymore. My girlfriend and I arrived at a relatively empty Papillon shortly before midnight and ordered drinks for €20 each. Afterwards we wanted to get some fresh air so we could go back in and order the next round. When I tried to re-enter, I told the newly hired bouncer(?) that we were already inside. He then said in a contemptuous tone “okay, not anymore” and asked us to leave. There was no obvious reason for this, as the restaurant was neither very full nor was the dress code appropriate. It seemed to us as if he had a personal problem with us. I am very annoyed that I have spent hundreds of euros at this place and have always recommended Papillon to my friends, only to be treated in such a disrespectful manner by a member of staff.

I made a reservation for 19:30, and when I arrived at the restaurant, it was almost empty except for an event happening on the terrace. Despite this, I was given a table in the sun, which was quite uncomfortable and quickly warmed up the cocktail I ordered as an aperitif. The food was good overall, though the cauliflower popcorn was disappointing. The server warned me it wouldn't be crispy, but it also tasted overly greasy. The girl who served me (I forgot to ask her name) was very friendly and helpful. As for the atmosphere, I expected a bit more of a festive vibe, but it was generally pleasant and elegant. I recommend this restaurant and will return.

A special place! We had a great evening and especially enjoyed the crudo, the croquettes and the fries. There was a cake for my birthday. It's also great that you offer open champagne. The espresso martinis were ok. Celebrating is fun, but it quickly becomes crowded - use tables and benches.

Ambience gets full marks. Also the cleanliness of the toilets. The food is completely overpriced, which wouldn't be a problem if it tasted good. The food was course after course, consistently tasteless. The service is untrained, unsafe and terribly bad. The owner is overwhelmed and overwhelmed with her role as hostess. What can be done better: better cooks, more expensive service -> service that really wants to serve and can sell. 40min to 1H for water, 1-2H time and 3x repetition to be allowed to order champagne is unacceptable and simply ridiculous. The bread that is served before the meal is given to you at the end, shortly before it is cleared away. The cellar was “missing” throughout the evening and had to be repeatedly encouraged to visit his work area via WhatsApp chat by his colleagues. Finding good staff is not easy, there can also be evenings when things don't go well. But that was already well above acceptable levels.

Very good food in a mega location! Service can still be improved.

The food and service was amazing. Also, there was a magician that would come by and entertain the table, which was super cool and different from other restaurants. When we arrived they asked for our age, thinking we were too young and after that you could tell they were trying to get us out before the DJ came. We were told the DJ would come at 10 and we could keep our table until 11 (1 hour with the DJ), but the DJ showed up late and I had to beg for the free hour we were promised.

We are regulars here and have been here since it reopened but lately I don't understand the politics of the entry rules and find the bouncer's behavior really strange. The second time he won't let me in with a friend. But only this one bouncer always. I'm confused because I don't know anything like this, that you suddenly don't want to let someone in for no reason. I was there so many times and with many friends and groups. We always leave a lot of money and there have never been any problems! Our behavior was always great and we got along really well with all the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the atmosphere was always great! To the bouncer from last night: The first time a few weeks ago he said it was too crowded but I saw it then and accepted it that way. Last night the reason was that we didn't have a reservation and therefore couldn't get in. But he lets three young girls in who didn't have a reservation in front of us and looks at us cheekily. I spoke to him about it in the normal way and also said that it wasn't meant in a bad way, but that I didn't understand it and that I was there often. His answer was that he doesn't know me and the three girls are regular customers. Then we asked our friends who had a table to come out, which they did, but he said that we still wouldn't come in because I was arguing with him. I am always very nice and correct in my expression and was never unfriendly or discussed! This situation ruined our evening and it was the first time in my life that I experienced something like that. Wouldn't have expected it, especially from a high-quality restaurant. It all just doesn't add up and I feel discriminated against and treated unfairly. I would understand if we weren't dressed appropriately or weren't sober or really misbehaved, but here I just don't see a reason, just power games from bouncers who are ruining the reputation of the company they work for!

We were very happy about the vegan offer. We had a crisp summer salad, a cauliflower steak and delicious sticks with truffle oil and a crunchy topping. We enjoyed everything very much. Thank you for the lovely evening.
