Very delicious Punjabi cuisine located in alt-Tegel. Kind staff, takes and delivers the order fast. We tried Chicken Tika, very delicious, a bread is included. We liked it.

Darjiling Indian restaurant is really good. The service is fast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They always make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your meal. The food tastes fresh, full of flavor, and is cooked just right. I also liked the packing for takeaway—it was neat, safe, and kept the food warm. The cocktails were also great, very tasty and refreshing. Everything together made the visit special. If you are looking for good food, good drinks, and good people, this is the perfect place. This Indian restaurant is well located right on the Tegeler Promenade. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table. The food was a pure taste experience, and the portions were just right. The spices were well-balanced and brought out well. In summer, we definitely recommend sitting outside, as it has a great atmosphere. On cooler days, we also sat inside, and we have only positive things to say about that, too. Highly recommended!

Very disappointing!!! We were drawn to the menu and cocktails as we walked past. At around 6 p.m., four of the eight tables on the side terrace were occupied, and we were able to choose a table. The menu arrived and drinks were taken. Then nothing for a while until our food orders were taken. Next came two salad bowls and a selection of three sauces, with the comment that one was spicy and the others regular. We were a bit surprised, because three sauces like that are usually served with poppadoms and not as salad dressing. After the salad was finished, the drinks arrived. The food took a while longer. We opted for crispy Kashmiri chicken and curry duck. The chicken was crispy on the outside, the meat dry. The sauce was bland and tasteless. There was no taste of Far Eastern spices or tasty peanuts. The duck had apparently been fried until crispy but then drowned in a curry sauce that was also tasteless. As a result, the skin was no longer crispy, and the layer of fat between the skin and the meat was thick and inedible. More than half an hour after we finished, the waiter came to clear the table. Although the duck almost completely shrunk back, there was no question as to why. So my husband said, "Thank you for asking, it wasn't good." Irritated, the waiter said, "What?" My husband's reply that the food was inedible was met with no response. The table was cleared without comment. We would have liked to order a cocktail after our meal. But after having to wait so long for the food to be served and the waiter to be extremely rude and uninterested, we decided against it. In any case, it's not very professional for a server to react to guests in an unfriendly manner or with grimaces. I understand that it's strenuous work, but you can't blame the guests. There were two tables that arrived after us and had to wait a very long time before the waiter even took their order. At one table, salad and food arrived, followed by drinks. Our conclusion: not recommended. The service was abysmal and the food was a total disaster. A real shame!

I used to enjoy going here, but after today's visit, I'm so disappointed that I won't be going back. I'm not usually one to complain or send food back, but this lunchtime's dishes were so oversalted that we had to replace them. The server was very unfriendly, there was a loud argument in the kitchen, and the new food didn't taste any better than the one we sent back before. A real shame and extremely unpleasant as a customer. The garlic naan and bhatura were very good, though.

The food is good but the waiter overestimated himself when clearing away the food and dropped half of it and half of the curry sauce ended up on my expensive shirt. No compensation, not even an apology, thank you very much, the stain won't come out...

Food (tried on another day) delicious, service poor. I just wanted to have a cocktail with my girlfriend. We communicated this specifically at the beginning to make sure that it was not unwanted. At the table, our waiter only reacted to our order with an angry look and a shake of his head. A colleague had to point out to him that we had announced our desire and it was fine. He then took our order rather reluctantly and dissatisfiedly. After that we no longer felt welcome and were treated to corresponding looks from the waiter during our stay. Unfortunately, we have often noticed him being a certain unfriendliness. We won't go to this restaurant again, it's a shame about the good food.

I tried fish, lamb and chicken there on several visits and everything tasted like original Indian cuisine, everything was excellently prepared and very authentic, without insulting the German palate. The ingredients were always cooked to perfection and where it said spicy, it was spicy. Perfect! For me, Darjiling is one of the best Indian restaurants in Berlin and an absolute tip in Tegel that everyone who likes originality should try.

Mein Mattar Paneer war großzügig bemessen und dicht gepackt mit indischem Käse und Erbsen, das Mango-Lassi fruchtig und nicht verwässert. Den Service fand ich aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. An einem lauen Sommerabend kann man draußen entlang der Straße sitzen und anschließend einen Spaziergang am Tegeler See machen, der nur ein paar Minuten entfernt liegt. Habe einen angenehmen Abend hier verbracht und gut gegessen (einschließlich Mango-Schnaps aufs Haus). Fazit: Empfehlenswert!

We've eaten here several times. Typical Indian menu. It was very tasty. Unfortunately service is sparse. If you as a guest still have a request, you have to ask yourself. Things used to be different.

My husband and I were there a few times during the last 2 years, mostly for dinner, and always enjoyed our experience. The restaurant offers a comfortable sitting area inside and outside, the weiters are always friendly and attentive and the food we tried was delicious on most occasions: we usually take vegetarian options, which are plenty, or seafood. Vindaloo Garnelen is my favourite. Also, their traditional Indian chai (Yogi Tee) is one of the best I had in years. Strongly recommended.

This was our first time at Darjiling. Actually we always went to Aarju's one street away, but unfortunately it's no longer there :-( To say it in advance: we will definitely come back and we liked it :) We had made a reservation the day before and everyone we spoke to was super nice. We had agreed on a desired table - when we arrived the next day it was unfortunately occupied. But of course we were happy with another one, the first time you probably don't have a regular table :-) Overall, the waiters were all nice. One only spoke English, but all the others spoke German well. The menu is, as you would expect from Indian restaurants, quite extensive. I took a few photos to give you an impression. The bathura was delicious, as was my chicken khorma. The others were also satisfied. We thought it was OK in terms of price, but the drinks were really expensive. Around €5 for a 0.4l beer is really not cheap. All in all, it's somehow still within reason. Our table was right on the street, many people like it, we would have preferred (as agreed) to sit a little away from the "main" street. Therefore, deduction for the ambience, but in the end it was ok. All in all a good 4 stars :-) see you next time!

We had dinner at Darjiling Restaurant yesterday. I had chicken masala. I found a piece of plastic wrap about 3x5cm in size in my food. The waiter's reaction was simply: "I'll pass it on". No apology, the full price of the meal was still on the bill, no compensation whatsoever! I worry about having swallowed small pieces of plastic wrap and don't want to know what would have happened if I had swallowed the large piece. We've eaten there before. Now for the last time. I strongly advise against visiting there as it can be dangerous to your health. PS: TO YOUR ANSWER: I immediately informed the waiter about the piece of plastic wrap in my food. As already mentioned, the reaction was just: "I'll pass it on". No apology, no regrets, no restitution of any kind. He reacted as if he had experienced this many times and wanted to get it over with quickly. Therefore I cannot confirm your answer. We expected at least that there would be an apology or that the food would not be included in the bill, but they were charged full price for a meal that was potentially dangerous to health.

Delicious food with a nice selection of dishes. I particularly liked the chicken tikka, well seasoned, great aroma, tender meat. I also really liked the fact that there was the option to order a selection of dishes for one person. No. 80 for example. I wanted more intensity, not spicy enough for Indian food, compared to what I've eaten so far. Still highly recommended 👍
