Food and restaurant good. But: The waiter wasn't tipped enough, so he wanted to take the liquor back on the house. And 2 other guests can attest to that! We haven't experienced anything like that before. It's a shame, we've eaten here several times, but we'd like to eat somewhere else in the future. Not here anymore!

The food is solid, the service is friendly but sometimes a bit unstructured (my personal feeling). You can drink cocktails if you don't have such high expectations (inexpensive, taste mediocre). There is the option to eat inside or outside and the ambience is like that of other Indian restaurants. All in all, the price-performance ratio is good.

Food poisoning!!!!!!! After eating, me and my friends felt really bad!!! It's been a week and I still can't eat normal food. You are very unhygienic!!

On Saturday evening we spontaneously decided that we wanted Indian food... and stopped at Mama Ji's in Lichtenrade. There we were greeted personally by the boss with a handshake, kind words were exchanged, and with a mango juice on ice at the house's expense, we chose the dishes we wanted to take away. In addition to Bhatura and Garlic Naarn, there was an Indian curry soup with chicken (Mulligatawney) and a mixed salad with an excellent dressing. The main courses were a delicious chicken curry, a spicy chicken Jhalfrezi and duck Peking in a creamy peanut sauce and red curry. Plus two large portions of basmati rice and everything was so well packaged that we ate it straight away at home without heating anything and were very hungry. Simply very, very well and wonderfully coordinated, each dish was a pleasure in itself. It certainly wasn't the last time we tasted these delicious dishes 😊

We've been to Amma Ji for lunch several times recently. It was always fun. Service was quick, waiters were very nice, food was extremely tasty, what more could you want? It wasn't the last time we were there.

Ambience is ok, if it is very busy, a bit very loud. Food very good and affordable. Cocktails delicious. Service very nice. Parking spaces in the area. In summer you can also sit outside, but it's right at a street intersection.

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the positive reviews. We were here for the first and last time. The service staff made an unsympathetic impression and we also had stomach problems, even though we are used to Indian cuisine. In my opinion the price-performance ratio is poor for this quality. Far too expensive, unfortunately. I'm happy to pay more, but I also expect a certain quality in return.

We used to eat there very often or order and pick up. And it was really good! Now, the price development is really steep. Unfortunately, I can only give it 2 stars now. This salad, which is served with almost every dish, is really bland. You'll look in vain for dressing. Unfortunately, I didn't like either starter at all. Cocktails weren't my thing either. Definitely tastier to drink somewhere else. As always, the staff was very nice and attentive. But unfortunately the store has taken a turn for the worse. Sorry.

All in all “nice”. Unfortunately not anymore. Too narrow for me due to the design and therefore quite loud. There was nothing wrong with the food, but unfortunately it wasn't particularly imaginative either. You definitely can't go wrong.

I have visited the restaurant off and on since it existed. But it's not the same anymore. Which you can also see from the Ji now attached to the name. Now I was back again and ordered a chicken kebab. Just thinking about it makes my stomach churn... Visually, all the "meat" pieces looked exactly the same, in the mouth they were as soft as a currywurst without casing and they tasted like nothing. Divided with a knife, the cut image resulted in original foam. No real fibers and lots of small air holes. That definitely wasn't chicken pieces!! If anything, it was at most a sausage mixture with chicken. However, the sauce and vegetables were very tasty. But after the third piece of “foam” nothing worked anymore, otherwise I would have thrown up. When asked about it, they tried very hard to clear up the problem and bought drinks and a new, different dish... with "chicken".... that was of course also from this crowd. If you order something like this, take a look at a piece, press it with a fork and cut it crosswise (not lengthwise), then you'll know. In any case, I still feel uneasy today and when I asked myself whether this was also done there with other types of meat, I decided never to eat there again and to tell everyone about it. Maybe you can buy real chicken there again.

As always, the food tasted very tasty. Unfortunately I have a criticism to make today. I paid with my cell phone and it took a little longer. But that's no reason to throw the receipt on the table and then walk away. I apologized beforehand that paying took a little longer.

We were here twice and unfortunately we all had digestive problems and even diarrhea afterwards. I don't know if we all have an issue with glutamate, if it is used there at all. Each of us had something different to eat. I'm vegetarian myself. We enjoyed it. We didn't want to drive so far into Bleibtreustrasse in Calcutta, but we'd rather do that now. We won't be coming back.

Since my friend is disabled and has a walker, employees immediately met us at the entrance and accompanied us to our table. Even when we wanted to leave, help was right up to the door at the exit. We recently went to the Indian restaurant “Amma Ji” in Lichtenrade quite spontaneously. Very conveniently located and you can always find parking spaces... In the restaurant we immediately noticed the very courteous service. Everyone was incredibly nice and took great care of the guests. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We kept discreetly checking to see if we needed anything else (without being intrusive). All in all, a successful, relaxing evening that we will definitely repeat!

I went here to eat. The food here is very good like chicken tikka butter chicken. The service was also very good.

After a long break in Lichtenrade we left very annoyed. The new (?) Servivestaff lacks the basics!! You're not sitting there yet, you're already jostling with the cards, the plates are already being cleared away during the starter soup even though the other person is still eating, the same thing with the main course, the table is wiped even though there's no spill and it's not finished yet... every now and then you're still looking, so no , uncomfortable and music way too loud, so did the guests. That's it for us...

We hadn't been there for a few months... yesterday we went back to eat at a good Indian restaurant... but unfortunately we won't be going there anymore... the food was mediocre but the service was so bad and rude... The cell phone was more important than the guest...not possible...unfortunately...

Very disappointing!!! I enjoyed going there often for a while. Unfortunately, I have been extremely disappointed several times now when ordering take-out. Every time something is forgotten and when you call because you only get half a dish and go back to get the other half, you are told that next time you should say that you want rice?!? What an impudence! If I order a dish and say that I would like it without meat, then in their opinion it is my fault that they book it differently and only give me sauce without rice... Unfortunately, the food wasn't as tasty as usual... we won't be coming back.

The visit was beautiful and delicious. I just thought it was a shame that what was supposed to be the hottest dish (lamb chili) had no heat at all. My friends couldn't taste any spiciness in it either... It's a shame if you like it spicy.

Unser letzter Besuch, war leider nicht ganz so schön wie gewohnt. Es war der zweite Weihnachtsfeiertag (26.12.2023)und wir waren zu dritt. Hatten nicht reserviert und spontan entschieden dort zu essen. Als wir an kamen, wurden wir nach hinten auf das Podest, an einen 4er Tisch gebracht, der sehr eng gestellt war und man kaum Platz hatte, sich dort bequem hinzusetzen. Es war auch sehr laut, weil ganz hinten eine Familie (Mutter und Vater mit 5 Kindern!!!) saßen und die Geräuschkulisse extrem laut war! 🙉 Auf die Bitte die Musik etwas leiser zu stellen wurde auch eingegangen, weil man sich so somit gegenseitig versucht zu übertönen und es nur unnötig lauter wird. Mein Dad hat das „Glück“ seine Hörgeräte rausnehmen zu können und hat dann seine Ruhe, können wir leider nicht, wünschte ich mir aber manchmal auch! 🙉 Nachdem uns das Service Personal die Karte brachte, waren wir etwas verwirrt, denn es war nicht die gewohnte Speisekarte, sondern eine zweiseitige Spezialkarte zu Weihnachten und keines unserer Lieblingsgerichte war mit drauf. Zudem hat ein Gericht knapp 20€ gekostet! Normal bezahlen wir zw. 10€-12€ pro Gericht. Leider hatten wir aber schon die Getränke bestellt und auch schon erhalten und konnten somit nicht gleich wieder gehen, wonach uns aber in diesem Moment wirklich war! Ich wollte aber so schnell nicht aufgeben und fragte beim Personal, ob es nicht doch möglich wäre von der normalen Karte zu bestellen. Er fragte beim Chef nach und kam mit der gewohnten Karte wieder. In diesem Moment zahlten ein Tisch nach dem Anderen ihre Rechnungen und es war eine himmlische Ruhe als alle weg waren! Also es war eben eine normale aber angenehme Geräuschkulisse gewesen, denn es waren noch so einige viele Tische besetzt gewesen. Kurz waren wir auf dem Podest alleine und dann kam nur noch ein Pärchen, denen es genauso mit der Spezialkarte erging wie uns und fragten auch direkt nach der gewohnten Karte. 😁👍 Das Essen (1x Chicken Korma und 2x Chicken Sumba) war wie gewohnt super lecker und hat den Anfang „fast“ vergessen lassen. Ich möchte aber gleich vorweg nehmen, dass ich nichts gegen Familien mit vielen Kindern habe, falls das hier falsch rüber gekommen ist. Es war einfach zu viel auf einmal, schätze ich und die Gesamtsituation extrem nervig! Ich gebe dennoch 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, weil wir sonst immer sehr zufrieden waren und das wegen einem anfänglich schwierigen Tag auch nicht so schnell ändern. Nur das Ambiente konnte aufgrund der Lautstärke und dem engen Platz nicht volle 5 Sterne erhalten.

Unfassbar tolles Essen. Unglaublich freundliche Mitarbeiter. Tolles Ambiente und eine schöne Auswahl an Köstlichkeiten. Auch hier kann ich das Batura-Brot empfehlen. Aber auch das Naan ist klasse.

A very good Indian Restaurant, indeed! Staff was very friendly, even the owner came to say Hallo after he heard we were posted to India before... In 5 Years in Delhi and Gurgaon we never had that good quality of food like there. My Asian Wife and I can handle Asian and spicy food, that's why we really can recommend this place. That Mutton Briyani was simply the best ever! Couldn't finish it there cause too big of a portion, so packed and ate two days later... Still delicious, will deffinetaly go there again. Prices are better that in central Berlin for sure.

Ich war von dem Besuch positiv überrascht. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und das Preisleistungsverhältnis war sehr fair. Daher gebe ich hier 5 Sterne. Weiterhin gibt es für den Preis gute Cocktails. Die Bedienung war sehr nett. Die Einrichtung im Restaurant war standardmäßig.

Ein absolut schlechter Service. Dort herrscht ein Komiston vom Feinsten. Die Linsensuppe war alles Andere als gut. Offensichtlich hat dieser Laden kein Interesse an Kunden. Keine Weiterempfehlung. Nie wieder.
