The disaster are very good. We had 3 disaster and they were all good. The floods was the worst. Never had a falooda with fruits in them.

I ordered an onion dosa, which was very average. I came in with high expectations, but it was disappointing; the dosa was partially uncooked and the onions were completely raw. While other dishes might be good based on the restaurant's reviews, my experience was pathetic. However, I also ordered a mango lassi, which was really good—definitely one of the best I've had in Germany.

The taste of South Indian dishes are ok when compared with other Indian restaurants in Berlin

I really like their idlis and filter coffee, However dosas are extremely oily and I almost always get a nausea after eating them (tried 3 different ones 3 differnt times)

Excellent food n ambianceOur family of 8 visited the restaurant, and despite the crowd, our server Adnan ensured we got seated quickly. His attention to detail and excellent service made our experience smooth and enjoyable

The place is definitely good for South Indian food. Don't expect much for other cuisines. Here in my experience for the food I ordered. Mini Idly with Sambar: 4.7/5 It was really delicious Poori : 3.5/5 , It was okay. Vegetable Biryani: 0.1/5 I would not call what they serve a vegetable Birayani. There was just one carrot and a few peas in the name of vegetables. Have a look at the image. When I complained, they said that they serve a veg biryani like this only. Better avoid any biryani or Pulao items. The plate was not clean. It had white spots. Look at the photos.

Best place to taste authentic South Indian food. As this is a chain restaurant, the food tastes the same as how it would be in Chennai, India.

Not to be compared with other Indian restaurants in Berlin, even if they only serve vegetarian dishes... highly recommended!

Left without eating food as we met a horrible service very much racist behaviour from Adnan who we when requested for a seat which is not too hot refused and said we don’t have another set of seats. Just after us two white ladies walked in and were sat on a table of 4. The other colleague was polite enough to say let’s clean and get you another table but Mr Adnan said she knows nothing. How respectful of a colleague. And when we asked him to get his manager he said there is no manager. Being an Indian I am just ashamed how we were treated and the manager was never called despite our request. Dear manager you should be atleast respectful of the customers if you said that wait for 10 mins 15 mins that would have been acceptable but this behaviour from Adnan of literally chucking us out works please get staff who are respectful of each other not rude people like him. We have been regular to sarvana bhavan in London never a staff who thinks of himself of too much.

This place is always full so expect to be noisy. However, you can’t get better dosas. Authentic Indian place where to enjoy tasty food.

Great place to eat if you're white. This is one of those places where brown money is not equal to white money. We we're given a table for 2 near a radiator which was too hot. We noticed the table of four behind had just become available and asked to move there. The kind waitress said "sure I'll just clean it then you can move". That's when Adnan came along and said they cannot give a table of 4 to 2 people. We pointed out there were many 2s eating at a 4 table, and that the waitress had already said it was ok. "She knows nothing" said Adnan. We said can we still move because the radiator is too hot, he then offered another table for 2. When we got there it was another table next to a hot radiator! Two white women then walked in and Adnan then gave them a table for 4 people. When he pointed this out to him he just spoke nonsense . We then asked for the manager and Adnan said "the manager is not here". We asked other staff and learnt that the manager was there but he was "too busy". We decide to leave. It is a pity because we have eaten at many Saravana Bhavan outlets in London and India and have always had amazing service. The Berlin outlet should be ashamed of such discrimination.

We came back again after one Indian friend took us here last year - and it was so good! Delicious food, nice relaxed atmosphere, nice service! Our friendly lovely waitress Akansha suggested us some meals and drinks. Was a great experience and learning some new tastes of India!! Highly Recommended!!

Worst experience, I went there on my kids birthday, registered the name was informed to wait 30 min for which waited 20 min then reached out that is it possible to get the order fast compared to dining for which the billing lady agreed gave the order for take away which took additional 40 min which is just pathetic so waited there for like 1 hour:10 min just to take away, post which when I complained that atleast be on time what was informed and was bluntly told that it's not there problem as people as ordering 2 times on the table hence the delay. Just pathetic service.

A great place for South Indian food. The staff is friendly and helpful. The ambience of the place is also good and it is easily accessible using the s bahn.

If I couldn't give any stars, that would be my rating. First of all: Mostly Indian guests and the menu is only in English. The atmosphere is chaotic, crowded and not exactly comfortable. There were five of us and we each had a drink and a small meal. Apart from the fact that the spring rolls, which were described on the menu as pancakes with garlic sauce, were rather semi-good and the “garlic sauce” was a sweet chili sauce from a bottle, we asked if there was Batura, which we answered in the affirmative and then with the others Food was ordered. By now everyone had their food (which were all starters), only the Batura didn't arrive. My friend waited... and in the meantime we asked three times (!) if it was still coming. Every time it was said: yes, yes it's coming... after a total of half an hour we asked again. Whereupon the lady we ordered from said we hadn't ordered any... even though she told us three times that it would be coming soon! She went and sent her colleague ahead, who also said again that his colleague said we hadn't ordered it and that the kitchen was now closed. “Sorry”! Then the lady came back at some point to explain herself and finally realized her mistake and apologized. There was no compensation. However, around €7 was overcharged. She said the bill was 73.40. We put down €75 and they didn't even try to give us change. We didn't really want to give tips anymore. But we involuntarily paid over €8 more. Never again!

Waiting time is crazy and not managed properly. Not recommended at all. Cannot book the table online for 2-3 pax

A delightful experience to satiate your taste buds to Indian cuisine which is done right. I have been a customer of Sarvanaa Bhavan from my time in Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and now in Berlin over 10 years. Always that familiar taste and quality. Highly recommended.

I went there today with my family between 18.00-20.00. I have been to their hubs in Amsterdam and Cologne and had an amazing experience. However, today has been my worst experience there. The service took 2 hours to deliver 3 food items and 3 teas. The food didn’t taste well. Only the ghee rava masala dosa was good. The whole episode for today is here: In the beginning we gave the complete order and explained them well about how we expect it to be delivered at our table. The idea was simple, please serve food dishes first and tea in the end. How hard is that to understand ? Firstly, they took ages to serve food, then made us wait for another ice age to have the tea. The moment I cross-checked with a waitress about its status, we get to know that our order was never placed. Okay, I understand you are busy and skipped it. I placed it again with a this waitress. 30s later the waitress who took our order the first time arrived and said what happened. I told her about the tea situation, she said don’t worry you will have it soon. Would you like it with sugar or without. Again politely my father indicated two teas without sugar and one with sugar. The teas arrived - all without sugar! This really made me annoyed. I called the waitress and asked about it. She replied you ordered all without sugar, I have no other information from your side. I politely explained her the situation, she went back to cross-check. Thanks for the trust on customer’s response! She came back with sugar in her hand telling us we can add it manually. There was something wrong on their side. I told her its alright, it would be good if they could change it and get a new one WITH SUGAR. Well, what happened next was amazing ! She left apologising and another waitress came to say that we were at fault here and didn’t place the order correctly. She was explaining me the tea making process and how they add sugar. Well, girl that is what I wanted for my father in the first place, you guys messed it up and rather than apologising you blame it on the customer. Despite all this, me and my father calmly handled the situation. We tried explaining her that the service team as a whole has failed today. We were not there to blame an individual. It was a team, and they should just accept and apologise. Thankfully, she did understand and apologised. I am reluctant to ever visit this branch of Sarvana bhavan now. Kindly teach your staff some basic etiquettes and treat your customers well! The waitress who took the tea order the second time and the waitress who came to us in the end - talk to your customers respectfully or else find another place of work!

Being a South Indian, I know what authentic South Indian food tastes like, and this is nowhere close. The Vada was not properly cooked nor was it crispy enough. The coconut in the chutney was old, and had a spoiled taste. Sambhar and Chai was full of water and very diluted. The service and ambience were equally bad. We ordered an ice cream, which we didn't even receive. On hot summer days it's like a sauna inside. Paints were worn out on the walls. Overall a very underwhelming experience.

Alright for South Indian dishes but very poor north Indian items and thali.

It is a South Indian restaurant. Where besides South Indian, Chinese, Punjabi and other intercontinental dishes are available. It is one and half story restaurant. Today was holiday in Germany, hence it was very crowded tonight. We had to wait for almost half an hour. Taste was not impressive. I have also tasted Sarvana Bhavan in Munich also and their taste was better. Rates are moderate.

Awful! We are now waiting for our order for 1.5 hours, food still has not arrived and they did not even say ‘sorry’.

Food was superb, in particular the rasam and uttapam. I did not grow up with this food but I have been to southern India a few times and this tasted very authentic to me. We plan to go the branch in München also!

I try dosa that’s is very good . But after that I try Manchurian veg which I didn’t like overall dosa is very good I order 2 times . The thing I feel is like we wait for 30 min for table then again 10 min to get the menu card I think they should work on it but I really love the dosa

I’m only penning down my personal opinion, I felt very happy to be at Saravanaa Bhavan, and would choose it over again if at all I’d want to have some traditional Indian food, they’re various, and tastes good. The atmosphere felt homely, and the interiors gave a feeling that I’m in India, like having my food after a long tiring day along with a nice coffee. The service person who took my order and delivered it was also calm and diligent. However, it didn’t feel good to me when I was asked to pack my food by myself when I requested if the food that was left could be given as a parcel. I don’t know why it’s like that in the restaurant and haven’t experienced this anywhere else. :) Everything else was good. 😊✌️

If you're looking for some good south Indian food, this ain't it. Food is highly inconsistent, and every time they make some dishes so bad it's almost inedible. Dosa is the only safe bet. Serving sense is so bad that they served food first, starters later and drinks last. I really hope they read this, and stop being the worst of the chain, in Berlin

You can do it when you're at Potsdamer Platz. Not the best Indian food I've tried so far, but there's definitely worse.

I hated their Dal Makhani. And wow why don’t you put a whole garlic between the naans and wrap it. Why even care to chop them

Overall a really negative experience. Took long to order and food was just ordinary at best. The worst thing was something different though, we ordered a large bottle of mineral water for 6,5€. When we got the drinks the water tasted like tap water (the bottle was also well worned) and when we pointed this out to the personel they went really uncomfortable. We got a new bottle that was opened at the table and it was obvious the other water was tap water.

I had dosa at sarvana bhawan and honey suggested me a very good option as i wanted to have something very spicy. She was really sweet and very patiently listned to my preference and made sure that i get the same dosa as requested. Would like to visit again here and ask for some more option. Keep it going girl (honey)..you are really good at hospitality!

A great experience at Berlin. It a nice weather and having authentic vegetarian south indian delicacy wow!!! Although it was rush, the girl arranged tea and food quickly 😀. Enjoyable nice experience 😃

Mediocre Indian food with no sophistication or subtle flavors. The changing operations can be supported with occasional reminders. The bright light could be more atmospheric.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, because it didn't even get that far as we were ignored and after 15 minutes we decided to leave. Even then there was no farewell or questions...but right around the corner there is a fantastic Indian restaurant with polite people Staff... so NEVER AGAIN!

So, first of all, I have to modulate the reader's expectations. Saravanaa Bhavan is an Indian restaurant chain serving vegetarian dishes. The food is served on metal dishes and the cutlery is in cups on the table. The ambience is correspondingly simple and busy. A lot of guests come from the Indian culture. Anyone who appreciates a wide selection of Indian cuisine should be in good hands here and get a very authentic impression. We were very satisfied with our dishes. So don't expect any frills or over-the-top service. Speaking of which, the English language is more represented here. A menu in German is also available upon request and a friendly smile on both sides makes communication much easier.

I ordered dosa it was not authentic at all ,the chutney was weak in taste and the service they don't even respect anyone

It was so horrible experience and I had payed 9 euros for kottu paratha which was not at all worth it. Quality has been decreased so much. I won’t recommend this restaurant to Indians now.

Kotu paratha was very disappointing. They should charge 3 euros instead of 9. There was no veggies in that dish. Only paratha and some french fries😅

Thank you so much for the unforgettable experience. Had a horrible time. I've been here multiple times and know that things take time, but this time, it was pathetic. When the order was taken, there was no mention of delay as usual. After 10 mins, when I ask, they say it will take time. FYI, to the management, if u can't have enough staff, then ur business will not get better. If this is how u want to operate to maintain ur profit ratio, then pls let us know we can choose other options. All the lamp holders are dusty, and they are right on the table. Hairs are there on tvs. All said and done, the food was nice, and that's the only thing making people come again and again.

We had lunch here for two days and have found to be great for marsala dosas, however the north Indian menu like "naan" and Kadahi Paneer wasn't up to mark. Naan was too thick and stiff. Service was also so laid back

My family all time favourite restaurant.The best and super tasty is Paneer Manchurian,masala dosa with delicious sambhar and chutneys, idli ,medu vada,Uttapa and special tea.Thanks Sarvana staff for caring to our Indian needs .

Food was really tasty. Service was a bit hit and miss even though we went outside of busy times. Portions are good sizes.

Worst experience , Table no 56 , Date - 10.08.2024 , after ordering food none of us attended for approximately 45 mins . After that only one order we received and still the other one was on hold . When we asked the same to the Chef/manager in context with our order for "chana masala'' as we were waiting from long time she replied she will check and update and she did not visit us again. Apparently we had to cancel our order and for billing they sent an employee who had punjabi accent to get rid of the situation.

Its heaven for south indian food lovers. You can expect delicious delicacies from dosa to idli parotta and different south indian snacks. Wide variety of north indian, chinese, southindian menu.

Very tasty, service was nice, but overall overwhelmed, the order was completely mixed up, two of the dishes were wrong for 6 people, a long wait, but overall it was fun. The portions are small from the perspective of younger people.

For the first time, it was a nice experience. Food tastes really good. I’m not an expert in Indian food, but everything seemed well prepared, fresh and warm. I just noticed a bit of disorganization while getting the orders and serving. A table that arrived before me got their orders after mine. For my order, the beers came 5min after three food because the staff forgot to get 🤷🏻‍♂️ Apart of that, everybody is friendly. By the amount of claims regarding the same issues, a training with the team would be helpful. I will be happy to visit again anyway.

The food was great, but it took more than 90 minutes to all be served what we ordered. The staff were endlessly apologetic, but all they offered as recompense was a 15% discount, which is pretty poor. Not recommended, unless you don't have time pressures - or just want dosa, which appeared almost instantly.

We are regular visitors since some time now and we sadly will be forced to look for alternatives soon... Though student labour is cheap, it comes with a costs of extremely bad service. Especially when every month there are new ones with less experience. 30+mins to take orders, burnt batura served after having waited 45+mins, paneer dosa server with blocks of paneer inside instead of grated paneer, main course comes before the starters and finally the mix veg Parota supplied with Schezwan sauce... Ofcourse, the burnt batura was replaced after we complained and the mix veg Parota sent back..we settled for the block paneer dosa as we were super hungry after the 30min wait. Dear Owner/Manager, I appreciate you providing opportunities for students, however at least at the key posts, think of hiring experienced personell. Saravana brand without quality and service doesn't help. The place is extremely chaotic and the relaxed, quality meal is missed unless the visit is in odd hours. Hoping to visit Saravana bhavan soon and encounter a better experience.

It's a good place to have South Indian food, no doubt, but please avoid ordering their North Indian specialities like Kathi roll. We ordered one and regretted wasting our money. It was basically a supermarket bought tortilla wrap with filling

The food is incredibly delicious and 100% recommended. The service, however, is one of the worst I have experienced. The owner should think carefully about the choice of personnel. Even though the food was so fantastic, I won't be returning because of the poor service.

Everything except the Mysore Masala was great. This dish is typically spicy and special. Their Berlin version is bland and should not be called Mysore ‘Masala’….there was no ‘Masala’. Should atleast ask when taking the order. Spoilt my whole experience. Informed the management …

Been here few times and the standards have reached an all time low.

The food was amazing It was just spectacular I ordered dosa for my main meal and gulab jamun for dessert and mango lassi. REALLY WORTH IT however the staff was just plain and simply rude very annoying and obnoxious. The waitress who was taking my order looked depressed and unhappy and really mean when asked questions. I wanted to try more food but it was not worth asking questions because of the lack of manners on the staff part. Also the main entrance is blocked made no sense. Food is a must try but hope you don't have the same issue with the waitresses.

Excellent food, and service. The authentic food experience was accentuated by Parminder’s excellent and immensely hospitable service! The name of this place should be Diljeet because, The people of this place are like Parminder and the soul, heart, mind and feet of this place are the same. Wow wow wow! Try Paneer Dosa!

I had a terrible experience. It took around 1hour to get the food, and food was salty. We reported that to the waitress, the only thing we heard was : I am sorry 😳👎

The service was very slow, food arrived after 30 minutes and the food was very salty. When we told the waitress she didn't react.

Sad and stale food, especially the dosas. I've gone here 4 times and each time it has been a disappointment. Also, the waiters seem overworked -- the manager should be paying them more and hiring more help.

Standard food, terrible service

The service is very bad, even though there are so many staff, everything takes forever. Our food order was forgotten. The dosa was cold when it arrived and that too in summer. You have to create it first. Everything took too long and was listless. The music was too loud. And the delivery went through the entire guest area. There was no tip. Every Amrit in Berlin is better.

Food was tasteless, sloppy presentation and the staff were unfriendly, not even making eye contact. Never recommending this restaurant to anyone, there are soooo many other amazing Indian restaurants in Berlin. Most importantly, my previous feedback was removed, but I will keep posting my feedback and I will be heard :)

I waited 20-25 minutes for the waiter to take my order. And I ordered masala dosa. All the side dishes was taste different than normal.especially the coconut chutney. I say to the guy who take my order and he talk with the chef say sometimes it like this . It was the worst food and worst customer service. Then i try to talk with the chef about the chutney at the time they throw the chutney and they try to making new chutney. Food: 2/10 Service :0/10

Parminder took the wrong order and after 45 minutes after she took the right order I had to end up cancelling it. She was totally nonchalant and unapologetic about it. I ended up having no dinner. Terrible service.

Really authentic South Indian taste. The dosa s, starters, Chinese dishes on the menu all are very tasty. My favorite is mixed veg parotha and kaima idly. A must try

We had a masala dosa with filter coffee , chole bhature with lassi. Dosa was pretty nice you can ask for sambhar and chutney again. But chole bhature seems not like chole bhature 😅. As you see the gravy is light yellow with lot of coconut it was nice in taste I would say but not the chole we have with bhature. My husband liked the filter coffee it was strong. Over all experience was nice You can try once.

It was very terrible today… We were really looking forward to the food. We've never seen a waitress like that and didn't even ask if everything was okay. She went to the back and looked at us and gossiped with another waitress. Very rude...😡 When we are in Berlin we never eat there again. You have to value the customers! We didn't feel comfortable in there. With a waitress like that you will definitely lose customers. In my opinion you don't even deserve one star.

Recently,last weekend, when I visited the restaurant, it was not upto the expectations (as i was expecting a good chutney with dosa). Service and Food were good except for the quality of white chutney (weird taste) and onion oothapam (not properly cooked). Chana Bhatura and Mixed veg parotta were really good (I recommend).

Nice food, but too spicy for us, even if we asked before ordering how spicy the dishes were ("a little bit" was the answer). Part of the staff was friendly, others... not so much.

The food is okay but the price is not, given that almost all dishes have the same chutneys, which should help reduce the price. The service was awful, the waitress was plain rude, made a mistake when taking our drink order (although we had been making sure she got it right) and told us it was our fault when she brought it to the table, some dish orders got mixed up or given to the wrong people, we were served at different times and couldn't eat together. The room is very loud and the lighting is very in your face, which also isn't that nice. Plus, they don't take reservations on the weekend. Don't go. There has got to be better Indian restaurants in town.

Very good experience. The service is very helpful in explaining the different dishes (even when it is very busy, they make time!). The food is delicious and it's nice that everything is vegetarian.

We ordered Special meals, masala dosa and medu vada. Vada was anything but „medu“. It had become hard and felt old. The sides with special meals were substandard. The coconut used for these dishes had an off smell. Rasam and a side made bitter-gourd was good. Masala dosa was better than all of these. Service is okay, and atmosphere is very nice.

The idly and vada was so hard (lump of urad dal batter) and the vada was in the shapeless. Well I wouldn't have a problem with the shape if they didn't call themselves world's no.1 Indian vegetarian restaurant . i was a huge fan of Sharavana Bhavan but since last year I noticed that the service and quality of food was becoming bad. Last week I went to Sharavna bhavan in Berlin . The waitress behaved so rude . She behaved like she is doing me a favour by giving me the menu . Moreover I found a little hair in my food. I was already overwhelmed with the service so My other friend also went last week on a different day and she also told me today that the waitress there behaved so bad . IMPORVE ! Shamen on You!

Overly priced and the quantity you get is not matching to the price. Coffee was bad, Dosa was Ok Idli, vada, and noodles was nice Spring rolls were super 👌

The food is just fine, there are so many better Indian restaurants in Berlin, and this one has the obvious disadvantage of not serving meat. The service was terrible: the waitress was rude, they took too long, messed up the orders, gave them to the wrong people, delivered in separate times (we were a group), and it was too expensive. The atmosphere is also terrible, it's located in one of the worst areas of Berlin (Potsdamer Platz sucks), the interior design is very uninspired, the shape of the restaurant is really weird and uncomfortable, it's super loud and overall not welcoming at all.

Vegetarian restaurant. Very long menu, it's a pity that there are no photos of individual dishes - it would definitely make the choice easier. The food was good, but it was served gradually to individual people (not to the entire table at once), which meant that the first ones ate and the rest watched and waited. The service definitely couldn't keep up. 90% of the guests are Indians, so if they like it, then it's supposed to be that way. I recommend.

An average place with nothing particularly bad or special about it. An average goto place to get some Indian taste.
