Cafe Camaleon in Berlin

Nice place but very expensive price for what they served us. I wouldn't recommend it. €21 for a very meager bowl of fruits, a coffee and a roll with an egg, a piece of bacon, seaweed and cheese... I won't go back!

The shashuka here is to die for. Really enjoyed that and the truffle pasta. Very confused why it was empty when I ate here as the food is very good

The service was very friendly, but only spoke English. The coffee was ok. We didn't eat anything, so we can't give a review.

The waiter was pretty good and wanted to do his best. But my scrambled egg was so salty and the water for tea was almost cold. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Food is delicious and the atmosphere is good. Service could be more concentrated and educated - moths ago, the service was much better.

Unfortunately no longer recommended for lunch. Good food and a great location, but unfortunately 1. the excellent lunch menu has been abolished and 2. the portions are an expensive joke. We were there with several people and no one was full of the main courses at €20-25 each.

Amazing food, cute atmosphere and fantastic service

A really good place to have brunch on weekends. The staff was very professional. They took care of the food down to the smallest details. The music was the icing on the cake, as I really enjoyed the Come Together cover they qurated

Glas wijn van minder dan 0,1 l. De warme chocolademelk was lauw. De chocoladetaart was een droge cake-achtige blok, die ik uit een verpakking zag nemen (dus niet vers gebakken).

I had the coffee which was amazing, the basque cheesecake which was out of this world as well, and some tapas which were mostly really tasty too! Will definitely be coming again ☺️

I tried the basque cheesecake and the orange cake and both were incredibly delicious. The cheesecake was creamy, rich and not too sweet, and the orange cake was incredibly moist, to archive that they used a sour syrup that I really liked.

Just not worth it. Most generic breakfast in Berlin, tiny portions.

Went there to have a nice dinner. Wine glasses were dirty, waiter did his job very poorly, every food felt like convinience food. No taste, no spices, no salt and pepper. All together very poor experience. Wine was okay but waiter did not know how much to pour it.

Fermati per caso in questo locale molto intimo e carino. Ambiente molto confortevole. I piatti sembravano molto invitanti ma abbiamo bevuto solo un buon cappuccino caldo. La ragazza che parla italiano super carina e gentile! ☺️

Kahvaltı için gittiğimiz bu restoranda gereksiz bir pahalılık var. 2 kişiydik ve içeri girdiğimiz anda sadece 2 kişilik bir masaya oturmamız konusunda uyarılmak hiç hoş değildi. Portakal suyu istedik ancak garsonun barda marketten alınmış bir şişeden portakal suyunu doldurduğunu gördüm ancak fiyatı klasik bir restoranda alacağınız taze sıkılmış portakal suyundan 2 kat pahalı. En azından marketten daha kaliteli bir portakal suyu satın alabilecek kadar kazandığınızı düşünüyorum. Domates soslu tost çok basit. Ana yemek seçeneklerini restoran önünden inceledim ancak pahalı. Buna değeceğinden şüpheliyim. Ayrıca Almanca bilen bir garson da işe almalısınız.

Ein schönes Café mit leckerem Frühstück. Durch die großen Fenster kann man schön das Treiben auf den Gehwegen auf sich wirken lassen.

Unser Besuch im Café Camaleon hatte leider einen eher negativen Beigeschmack. Das Lokal ist zentral gelegen und sieht von außen ansprechend aus. Wir wurden bei Ankunft aus Englisch begrüßt und zu unserem Platz geführt. Im Anschluss wirkte die Kellnerin eher wenig kompetent, es dauerte sehr lange, bis unser Essen kam und die Portionen sind klein (vor Allem die Nudeln) und dafür sehr teuer. Positiv anzumerken war die gute Qualität und der Geschmack des Essens. In Summe eher weniger zu empfehlen.

Wir waren zum Dinner da. Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte probiert. Für unseren Geschmack waren alle lecker und in Bezug auf die spanische Küche authentisch. Es ist eine lockere Atmosphäre mit Blick durch große Fenster. Auf der Weinkarte finden sich Naturweine.

The toast was good but not something I would order again I have a feeling the other dishes taste better But the croissants fresh out the oven? Amazing :) The place is lovely also, even if it’s part of a hotel Great service with a smile 😊

Went here for breakfast. The food here was good, but overpriced in my mind. Typical breakfast items available and service was good until she forgot us when we wanted to pay with card and therefore had to wait long time to pay.

I love to sit there in the morning, enjoy my breakfast and watch people passing by from the nearby underground station. The staff is really sweet.

Schnitzel was cold, no dressing on the salad, waitress nice teenager that appeared to be on her first day on the job, tasteless burger….can’t really call this a professional restaurant…you can honestly get a better meal at McDonalds…

I came in because I wanted to sit alone and read a book, and because I was hungry. I thought it looked better than the run-of-the-mill food place in the center, although of course the ambiance looked nicer from the outside than inside, which is cheap looking and tacky. The watered down pop music contributed to a mall atmosphere. The clientele are clueless expats and easily satisfied Germans who work in business and don’t mind forking out €25 for a bowl of mediocre pasta and cringe-worthy wine. The pasta itself came nice and hot, but unfortunately was nothing special. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper, and it was hard knowing I’d paid a steep price for something I could’ve made better myself for a fraction of the price at home.

Preise sind für die Grösse der Portionen viel zu hoch. Die Kellnerin war sehr langsam und man hatte den Eindruck, dass sie ihre Karte nicht wirklich kennt. Das Kuchenstück (für 5 Euro!!) war knapp 1cm dick und dazu noch enorm schräg geschnitten! Das Granola Müsli hatten wir ebenfalls in knapp 4 Bissen fertig. Wir waren sehr entäuscht zumal die Bewertungen überaus gut waren.

1달간 여행객으로 이곳을 추천받아 다녀왔어요 아침에 샌드위치와 커피한잔씩주문. 샌드위치에 치즈 햄 야채 ,한개는 연어 샌드위치로 모두 신선하고 꺌끔하고 물론 맛도 좋았고,베를린에서 먹어본것중 3위안에 넣어야 될듯해요 커피도 맛있어요 !! 직원들 친절도도 최고 ,기분좋은 식사. 감사해요!!!

직접 만든줄 알고 주스 주문했는데 그러기엔 5-7€면 너무 비싸네요. 최소한 마트에서 산거 같은 병이라도 보이지 말았으면 했네요.

We went there for dinner yesterday and it was great! The best natural wine selection and the food was so good, Spanish inspired tapas. Also a great selection of cocktails and the nicest staff. We will go back for sure!

Workers were constantly on the phone and didn’t even take our order. We only wanted a cappuccino it was crazy. We left. Never again.

Delicioso desayuno y el servicio muy amable y hablan español! Me pedi un omellete con champiñones y chorizo (Lazy tortilla), recomendadísimo para brunch y/o desayuno con un rico cafe.

So the location and the interior is 5 stars! Sadly the service is very VERY poor and I've been a couple of times and really wanted to like this place. The food is good but very overpriced and the portions are small. Such a pity!

Beautiful place for a nice brunch!

Kellnerin hatte keine Ahnung von ihrer Karte . Vergaß die halbe Bestellung. Unglaublich langsamer Service . Das Personal war eher mit sich beschäftigt. Die Mitarbeiter sollten auch einige Worte deutsch sprechen können .

Das essen ist ein Traum. Vorallem der käsekuchen!!!! Service super aufmerksam und freundlich. Mitten in Berlin. Love it!!!!

Claudia and Sofia gave us an excelente service, explained about the menu and were very kind and with awesome energy. The food portions are big, the salad is very tasty and fresh (also the bread). We highly recommend this place.

Guter Kaffee und Getränke, leckeres Essen. Preise für die Location eigentlich auch Okay. Die Atmosphäre ist schön, vor allem am Donnerstags wo es ein Live DJ Vorort ist. Service ist Top und sehr nette Mitarbeiter. Ich habe nach Namen gefragt und die Maria ist besonders nett und Professionell. Sie erklärte mir und meinen Freunden woher die bestimmte Getränke stammen während sie es vorbereitet hat, und was genau da rein kommt. Finde ich ganz gut, weil jedes Getränk dann eine Erinnerung und Geschichte hat. Wenn ich wieder in Berlin bin, komme ich aufjedenfall wieder mit Freunden. *sie geben gute Tipps für die Touristen

Несмотря на приятный интерьер и хорошую музыку, я не был впечатлен своим ужином, ожидал чуть большего. «Chicken schnitzel», который я заказал, показался мне слишком сухим и что-то не хватало в его вкусе. Еще смутила руккола, она было немного жухлой. Однако, салат «Tomato tartar» мне очень понравился - это было вкусное и оосвежающее блюдо. Я также хочу отметить, что обслуживание в ресторане было хорошим - персонал был внимательным и дружелюбным. Это добавило к моему общему положительному впечатлению от ресторана. Возможно, стоит избегать заказа Chicken schnitzel и сосредоточиться на других блюдах в меню, которые могут оказаться более удачными.

Das Café bot eine gute Atmosphäre in bester Lage in Berlin, allerdings ist die Menüauswahl für einen Brunchbesuch am Sonntag eher dürftig. Außerdem ließ der Raumduft aufgrund mangelnder Belüftung sehr zu wünschen übrig.

I stayed at the hotel the is above the restaurant and decided to have drinks and dessert. Claudette (not 100% on her name because I’m old and my memory sucks) was great and so was the other person waiting on the tables. I liked it that they had Berlin made Imperial Stouts and their carrot cake was delicious. On my next trip to Berlin, I would definitely spend more time there for at minimum drinks and dessert, and probably trying out some of their cuisine. It was busy the whole time I was there, and the place fit more people than I would have expected. However, I felt like the service was good, especially with only having two people working the restaurant (not including the people working on making the food).

The waiter was extremely friendly and nice to us, but this restaurant is just too expensive for what it offers. The food portions are very very small. We had 1 aperol, 1 bottle of wine, 2 coffes and 2 tapas and we paid 120€.

Ein super tolles Restaurant! Wir wurden sehr gut empfangen und die Leute, die dort arbeiten waren super freundlich und zuvorkommend gewesen. Das Essen dort war total lecker und komplett einzigartig, Chefkoch versteht sein Handwerk! Der Wein den wir probieren durften durch Empfehlung der Restaurantbesitzerin, hat super gemundet. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend dort gehabt und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen! Einen schönen Dank an Claudia & Maria die uns die ganze Zeit bedient haben und auch einen großen Dank an dem Hotelmanager. P.S.: der Cheesecake ist besonders lecker dort, auf jeden Fall muss man den probieren wenn man dort ist !

Das Essen ist unglaublich lecker. Die Preise sind für die Qualität des Essens angemessen. Meine Empfehlung: der Wein. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist sehr modern und sehr zeitgemäß. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Not bad overall. Food is so overpriced and is contributing to raising the prices in a highly gentrified area. Staff was nice and the food was reasonable, but they also forgot my drink.

Wer nicht bereit ist, für einen Käsekuchen 8,50€ zu bezahlen, dem wird vom Kellner hinterhergerufen: „… im Spätkauf ist es billiger“.

I was really surprised by this place! I walk past it every day but never went in. The vibe is cool, the gentleman serving the wines is amazing. He really knows his stuff and I have NEVER tasted wines like these. They have some super wacky stuff. We didn’t try enough of the food to really comment. I will be back!

Who made this food? An Angel? The best Basque cheesecake I’ve ever eaten and some of the best strachiatella too. Great music, great vibes.

Nice friendly staff. Overpriced food of bad quality. We had a cheesecake that costs 8 eur and was just not tasty at all. Also despite the place is new it has an odor of an old canteen.

We went there for an aperitif before dinner. Great wine choice. No beer though. We tried several sparkling wines. All excellent. Maria was super friendly and helpful. In Berlin such a friendly service is not something you expect everywhere

Pros: - Nice location and light, cozy interior; - Fine choice of wines. Cons: - Our table was served by 3 different people and all of them looked pretty grumpy. - 9 euros for patatas bravas. It was not patatas bravas, just a pile of average fried potatoes. And to charge for it 9 eur is hilarious.

Fantastic focused service. Our server helped us find the perfect wine. The tapas were wonderful.

We had two consecutive experiences: lunch and dinner. The lunch menu was excellent and the service perfect. The day after we went for dinner and unfortunately the main course was prepared wrongly (no correspondence between the announced dish on the menu and the real dish). The evening team was less prepared concerning the service and this included the staff in the kitchen. I discussed openly with the team what was wrong concerning the fish.

Etwas hochpreisige Tapas, Qualität sehr hoch. Weine sind überdurchschnittlich! Service war sehr sympathisch, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit! Kann ich sehr weiter empfehlen für einen schönen und entspannten Abend!

So I went there at 1 to have lunch on Sunday and the waiter didn’t even want to clean the table because I might not stay. And then he informed me that they close at 2 and only have breakfast menu.

Super Cafe :) Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Nicht nur das Essen schmeckt sondern das Personal ist sehr sehr lieb und zuvorkommend. Fühle mich hier immer sehr gut aufgehoben und kann mich ebenso sehr gut entspannen, da im Hintergrund ( leichte ) instrumentale Musik läuft.

0/10 Erfahrung: -Das Ambiente ist okey, aber auch nicht durchdacht. Die Bestuhlung des Cafeteils ist nicht gemütlich und einladend. Es läuft Technomusik im Hintergrund und alles ist unstimmig. -Wir haben einen „frischen“ Tee getrunken. Dieser war nicht mehr als heißes Wasser mit paar Stückchen in einem Sieb. Normalerweise wird bei frischem Tee einfach alles in das Glas gegeben, um die optimale Geschmackswirkung zu entfalten. Hier war es in einem Sieb und schmeckte nach nichts. Auch nach dem ins Glas kippen, konnte der Tee überhaupt keinen Geschmack entfalten. Die Zutaten waren auch bei separater Verkostung geschmacklos. Ich würde das hier nicht empfehlen, bis die Zutaten nach was schmecken.

Essen war soweit lecker. Portion (Pasta) zu klein für den Preis. Service desinteressiert und Wartezeit aufs Essen deutlich zu lang, da kaum etwas los war. Kann man hingehen, muss man nicht, gibt viele tolle Alternativen in der Gegend.

Repas pour 2 en soirée.Cuisine moderne, ambiance sympathique et personnel très agréable. Les tapas sont fines et goûteuses. Les pâtes sont cuites à la perfection avec un assaisonnement impeccable. Les desserts entièrement faits maison sont un très bon plus. Merci pour ce moment.

Service absolute null, ohne anzurufen oder eine alternative anzubieten hat das Restaurant die Reservierung 2 Stunden vorher storniert. Das essen kann ich nicht bewerten.

We had coffee and dinner here. Very nice staff and great food. The location is very accessible and the atmosphere was great for a chat. Loved it!

Food was okay but it took over an hour to receive our meal. Wasn’t optimal as it was our last few hours in Berlin and waiting on food (that was not planned) is not the way I would have chosen to spend it. Took almost 20 minutes just to get our glasses of wine and SIXTY FIVE minutes to get our mediocre food. We assumed it was a staff change but after inquiring, it was due to the fact we came at noon and they were switching from breakfast to lunch. We saw several locals come in and leave (w/out ordering) and wish we had too. Giving it three stars since the breakfast looked amazing, the staff was nice, and our food wasn’t terrible (even though it was definitely not worth the wait) I’m guessing we just came at the seriously wrong time. And truthfully, I don’t think the lunch was nearly as good and the breakfast looked. I say come early for breakfast or skip this spot altogether.

Very cool spot in the middle of Mitte. The atmosphere at night is great, the food delicious (we had the steak tartar and it was really good) and they also have a great variety of natural wines by glass. We’ll come back!

Bar/restaurante ubicado dentro de un hotel-boutique, súper moderno y casual a la vez con unos platos innovadores y de calidad. El chef es italiano y cuida cada detalle para sus comensales. Además, tienen menús semanales que comprende entrante, plato principal y bebida por solo 16€!! Dejo fotos de nuestros platos. Recomiendo muchísimo el cheesecake.

Fashion interior, panoramic windows, anticipation of pleasure could be spoiled. You will not be welcomed here hospitably. The waitress does not speak German and does not even consider it necessary to add “sorry” at least out of politeness. If you are ok to wait for your bill infinity, if you are not very demanding to service, if you are ok to fill vibes of neglecting, it is definitely your spot. Eat, pay and get out. You are not welcome here. Is that what you wanted? There are so many other fashion cafes in Berlin...

Ambitious cuisine, very well executed, food was delicious (Spanish/Italian with a modern take). Service needs a definite improvement, very polite, welcoming and nice but lacks experience. Overall an interesting promise.

I’ve been there already 4 times, well, I always get a friendly warm welcome, people there are easy, no pressure! Good to work, to meet some friends or just to have some good wine( there is a lady who always serve me the wine, she just very professional/kind and the wine after the good experience can only be good, passionate about what she doing, thanks you!) Vi har varit på Camaleon förre drygt en vecka sedan för att äta lunch. Vi gillade interiören och det öppna köket som vi kunde se från gatan och sedan gillar vi spanska tappas. Maten smakade som om vi var i Spanien. Vi fick otroligt goda chipirones med svart aioli och spanska croquetas. Stängde man ögonen, kändes det som att sitta på en tapas bar i Spanien. Jag valde sedan pappardelle med rabo del torro och det var en fullträff. Rekommenderas! Min man beställde bacalao (Confit cod and vegetables in carta fata) och den var också smaskens. Vi fick också väldigt proffsigt hjälp med val av vin till maten från servitören (Victor tror jag att han hette) och hela vårt vistelse blev riktigt trevig och vi rekommenderar restaurangen till alla våra vänner, som ska till Berlin

Great Food and Wine Location in Mitte. Placed in a well connected Mitte Area, working also as the Hotel Camper restaurant. We have been highly suprised about the atmosphere, food and service quality and really innovative wine proposal in comparison to some months ago we visited. The fried calamari and a number of high quality tapas are unbeatable in Berlin. A very innovative wine offer completes the picture to make this a very special place. This becomes one of my best options downtown for a nice dinner either business or chilling with friends.
