Unfortunately, our visit to Fränk'ness did not meet our expectations that we had for a restaurant of this name and reputation. Unfortunately, the food only came to the table lukewarm. Despite the rather large 2 meter board on which the dish was served, the amount of meat that was served and then ended up on individual, preheated plates was rather disappointing. The food tastes okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately We would have expected more. The place where we sat was also anything but pleasant. We were seated directly in the booth at the reception. This left us feeling like we were sitting on a bench right by the train track, but not in a cozy restaurant. The direct instruction when placed at the table that the place should be vacated at 7:45 p.m. also did not contribute to the desired overall picture. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. In our opinion, the price was completely excessive for the quality and comfort offered. Overall it was a rather disappointing experience. We're hoping it's a one-off blip, but for us it definitely wasn't what we were hoping for the evening.

Excellent food at very good location. The restaurant serves traditional food but with a modern twist. The restaurant looks really nice but we have been sitting outside. Unfortunately, since we were with 3 people we were unable to try sharing plates (gigantic wooden planks with a variety of food from the menu). However, we were satisfied with the single dishes. I would recommend this place.

Four of us had ordered a "Brettla" and wanted to upgrade it to the "Expert version" for two people. But that wasn't possible! Why? After waiting 20 minutes at the table, the preheated plates were unfortunately cold when the Brettla arrived. The meat was only lukewarm from the start, so we had to let it warm up - a shame, as the cooking level and the taste suffer. The pork entrecote was unfortunately dry, the other components were very tasty. The service is very friendly and attentive. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not balanced.

Last weekend, my husband and I were treated to dinner at Fränk'ness. We were warmly welcomed by the staff with beaming smiles, which were truly infectious! :) Our table was beautifully set and, thanks to the walls on the sides, a private spot with beautiful wallpaper on the wall. We could see the open kitchen from our table, which was lovely to watch how lovingly the food is prepared. The Fränk'ness Spritz is delicious and highly recommended as a drink. My husband had a burger with Franconian fries and a side salad. I had a delicious curry that was perfectly seasoned and served with delicious rice. We even had the opportunity to chat with Alexander Herrmann for a bit after dinner - he took the time to sit down with us. :) We actually didn't want dessert at first, but we couldn't resist, and I have to say: I would have regretted not having it! ;) A delicious chocolate cake with a soft center, served with delicious strawberries and sorbet! So lovingly and deliciously prepared - my personal thanks to the chef!!! We highly recommend the restaurant, are already looking forward to returning to Fränk'ness, and hereby give it a full 5 stars!!!! ⭐️ 😍

Great service, Vanessa and her team made for an unforgettable evening. The tartare as a starter was the perfect start to a wonderful evening. The delicious main course was actually trumped by a magnificent chocolate soufflé. Big praise for the roses on the table for our anniversary and the anniversary greeting from the kitchen - a champagne sorbet.

The second visit to Fränk'ness was absolutely disappointing. The tables in the restaurant are far too close together, and you're almost sitting at your neighbor's table, or rather, you can see their plate up close. The meat itself was of high quality, even if the price of €38.00 without side dishes is borderline excessive for a duck breast. The "pink-roasted" degree of doneness was completely missed; it can only be described as "medium rare" with great indulgence. The potato gratin I ordered with it was absolutely ordinary, with no trace of cheese. The presentation on the plate can hardly be described as "pretty." On a plain white plate, the duck breast (cut into three pieces) was at the bottom, a floret of pickled cauliflower and a teaspoon of roasted onion crumble with a dollop of cream at the top – and nothing in between. The corn-fed chicken breast was served whole and was presented just as spartanly as the duck breast. The green vegetables ordered with it lacked flavor. The "Easy Rose" from Weingut Waldschütz was okay, but still overpriced at €11.00 for a 0.2l. The service was attentive, but nothing more. We won't be visiting Fränk'ness again because, all in all, the value for money isn't right.

On March 11, 2025, as a group of 20 people, we visited a restaurant where we had reserved the table in advance. Despite our written reservation, when we arrived we were split up into three separate tables, not suitable for such a large group. The somewhat sakarst restaurant manager explained that due to the restaurant being at full capacity, no adjustments were possible anyway. We also ordered a four-course menu for €79 per person as well as a welcome drink and printed menus (e3.5). Unfortunately, the quality of the food and drinks did not meet our expectations, especially considering the high price. Although the service was attempted, the staff seemed inexperienced, which may be due to a lack of training or temporary help. Overall our visit was disappointing and disproportionate to the value for money. We hope that the restaurant will improve its internal operations and the quality of food and service to provide a better experience for future guests.

I saw the AH Restaurant, became curious and really liked it there. Ate vegetarian food, drank a good rose and particularly enjoyed the dessert because it pleasantly surprised me with the taste. We were there for the first time and were looking forward to top quality a la Herrmann. Reality extremely sobering! Ordered Fleischbrettla: completely overpriced, small quantity, poor quality (including disgusting, fatty pork). Service inattentive and quite disinterested. It's a shame, but we won't be coming anymore.

Unfortunately I can't give many more stars because I didn't get beyond the threshold. Despite the posted opening hours of 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., I was more or less turned away from the restaurant around 4:45 p.m. with the comment "The opening times were correct, but you can't do anything for now." And this from a highly unmotivated employee who slouched on the reception desk while listening to this comment. I simply expected more, especially since I had planned the train journey there specifically so that I could visit the restaurant during the stopover. Too bad!

There were two of us here for dinner. The reception was friendly but simple. Unfortunately, we were not asked at the table whether we would like to hand over our jackets. Other service staff were better here. The food was more than delicious! However, the service did not match the price of €140 for starter and main course! Nothing was recommended when choosing wine. The guests at the next table, however, do. Even tasting was offered. It's a shame that the service here isn't the same for everyone. As I said...I expect that at these prices. I've had much better experiences in simpler restaurants. Conclusion: You can eat deliciously but you shouldn't expect a lot of service for your money. There is a lot of room for improvement!

Disappointing experience when we stopped for lunch this Wednesday 1.11.2023. The service was terrible, we waited extremely long even for a bottle of water. The waiters were slow and inattentive, mistook multiple requests, gave unrelated excuses - and the restaurant was 3/4 empty! The food was good but the portions are ridiculously small - but expensive of course. We won’t come again and won’t recommend it to anyone. 🤷🏻♀️ really expected more from an AH restaurant. Edit: Fourth time the restaurant tries to delete my review. If you had apologized or reacted any other way I would have met you in the middle. But no, you prefer to take legal measures to remove an honest review?

Visited the restaurant as part of a business trip. Make an online reservation beforehand! If you are ever in Nuremberg you have to visit an AH restaurant. Very modern atmosphere. Location: centrally located in the old town. The whole facility is perfectly coordinated. The pink tones don't seem intrusive. It's just right. Food: At first I thought the pumpkin soup was nothing “special”. However, you notice the finely tuned nuances with every spoonful you eat. The main course, the entrecote from dry aged pork, was wonderfully tender. Awesome pepper jus. (I then spooned it out) Dessert was the nut butter vanilla parfait. When I ate the parfait alone, I thought it was a bit tasteless. In combination with the tangerines, the chocolate sauce and the espresso sprinkles, it's a dream! The statement that you should try everything together is true again. If you are in Nuremberg, definitely worth a visit. Price performance wonderful!

Food great, service flops. The three of us were in the restaurant at peak time on Saturday evening and reserved a table in advance. We received a very friendly welcome and decided on the 6-course menu offered and two 3-course meals that we had put together ourselves. Unfortunately, the service team was not helpful in making the selection. The waitress couldn't answer any information or questions about the food, and the idea of asking in the kitchen or asking a colleague didn't happen either. She didn't know what an English or medium rare steak was and said she couldn't do anything with it. The chef would certainly have known... Another waitress walked around for about 10 minutes with our drinks and those ordered from the neighboring table and then "slammed" them onto the table without a tray. When the guests at the neighboring table left, the leftover food from the table was quickly swept onto the floor. When we looked at her in shock, she laughed pleasantly. Finally, the water bottle was knocked over on the table with a clatter, which is not a bad thing and can happen to anyone. However, you could at least ask if everything is ok and not just say "Sorry". When paying with a credit card, she asked directly how much the tip should be. The food was excellent and 100% recommended. Overall, we can definitely recommend a visit here. However, you notice that, in contrast to the Imperial one floor above, there are no specialist staff in service here. But you can still give the guest the feeling that you care or are making an effort, then the above incidents would perhaps have been less memorable to us. Especially given the prices are actually not cheap, you can expect that a waitress will at least comb your hair or offer to ask in the kitchen.

We were there for brunch. It cost over 100 euros per person. Since I don't normally move in such circles and had already had negative experiences with such cuisine once in my life (over 20 years ago I was in a star restaurant for my father's 50th birthday. The food wasn't good and the portions were tiny) , I was a bit skeptical. To be honest, I assumed that the price-performance level would not be right and that it would end up being an expensive disappointment. And beyond that, I feared I might be underdressed. In all cases I was proven wrong. Of course you shouldn't show up there in a jogging suit, but normal clothing is enough. There was no one in a suit or expensive dress. The food tasted very good. Since it was a brunch, there were a lot of courses, which were a bit smaller in themselves, but in total they ensured that I was not only full but really full after the total of 3.5 hours. The drinks were included, so there were no hidden costs that would have artificially increased the price. The service occasionally seemed a bit scheduled and overloaded, but was still very friendly. In conclusion, I can say that 100 euros per person for brunch is of course not something you do every day, but the experience is definitely worth the money.

We are guests in Nuremberg and were looking forward to a little culinary journey. We know Alexander Herrmann from television, so expectations are naturally higher than in other restaurants. Accordingly, it is disappointing that the chef in charge cannot prepare a beef fillet medium well. We were given the beef fillet medium rare, even after we complained about it, the fillet came back medium. In the end we had to pay the full price, something like that would never have happened in the restaurant business when I was there. Very disappointing! Nevertheless, Nuremberg is worth a visit. The old town in particular is really worth seeing.

The Fränkness is a very pretty and modern restaurant. We had dinner there with friends. The menu turned out to be quite clear and not that easy to find something here 😅 The staff in the kitchen and in service were super friendly, nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, I don't recommend the beef tartare. Very small portion for a very high price. And nothing special, you can get the same or better in every restaurant. The bread with spread was very good and nicely presented. I was a little disappointed when my entrecote arrived because only a piece of meat was served with a piece of cauliflower. BUT!!!! I have NEVER eaten such a good entrecote, so kudos to the chef! My lye bagutte with it was also very good. Unfortunately, you have to order each individual side dish separately. My absolute highlight was the duck praline. The restaurant is in the upper price segment, but definitely worth a visit.

The greeting with “stand still” had already been unfortunate. It took 20 minutes for the drinks to be consumed. When ordering the food we were recommended bread and cream cheese, which we ordered but never received. The crustacean foam soup for € 18.00 was excellent in taste, but was served lukewarm in broken dishes. At this price everything is expected to be perfect. According to the staff, we were told that the chef wants everything to be sustainable. The burger for our daughter was served medium, even though we asked again that it should be well done. The burger also came with bacon, even though it was specially ordered. The remaining dishes tasted very good. We would like to note that only our waitress seemed very stressed and overwhelmed.

Was here for lunch with my girls on December 19th, 2024. Had a bowl with ramen and chicken (see photo)...which I enjoyed. Two of my friends had the noodle and mushroom dish with lamb's lettuce. Mushrooms and pasta were good but the lamb's lettuce was a "no-go"...so sandy...I tried it myself. Then the nice waitress, who by the way was very businesslike in offering an aperitif, dessert, etc., pointed out that the lamb's lettuce was so sandy that it couldn't be eaten. Her comment was: I'll pass it on to the kitchen. None Excuse me or can I offer you an espresso or cappuccino for the inconvenience??? Nothing came...Sorry Alexander...your visit to the local restaurant and the Christmas market were the highlight of our trip Nuremberg. By the way: in my opinion, charging €10.00 for a 0.1 liter Secco from Würzburger Stein is a bit risky... we should have looked at the price list on the drinks menu before ordering... our mistake.. . Please don't get me wrong, the food was delicious...I will definitely visit there again...I was just so disappointed that our "sandy problems" were dismissed so succinctly...after all, you have good money paid for it.

Summary: Completely poor service, the original review was actually submitted as libel. Obviously, bad reviews are systematically reported here in order to get a good overall rating. Both the service was bottomless (not even a question during the meal, eaten plates stood in front of you for up to 20 minutes, ...) and the atmosphere (a high table in the aisle next to the scullery for eating with a 5-course menu) was bottomlessly bad, Unfortunately, the price was simply too expensive for the all-round experience, even if the food was okay. A table right next to the show kitchen is something nice, if you don't see courses waiting at the pass for 10 minutes to be ready. Nice concept - bad implementation. Unfortunately, almost every village and city restaurant can do better at a more reasonable price. Unfortunately, we didn't listen to the bad reviews and let ourselves be influenced by the figurehead AH - please don't make the same mistake as us. Overall a disappointing evening. But at least the service (when it was there) was nice.

TL;DR Service and ambience bad, food ok but too expensive. No recommendation. - - - Today the two of us ate the 6-course or 4-course menu. We had previously reserved online. We were greeted warmly and then taken to a high table right next to the open show kitchen. We personally found that a bit unfortunate and uncomfortable - but since the restaurant was full we accepted it. We quickly noticed that the service was unfortunately really inattentive and unfortunately didn't really help each other out. Unfortunately, we had to constantly witness how finished corridors sometimes stood at the pass for 10 minutes. During this time, various waiters came by, but they didn't take the courses with them because they were apparently responsible for a different part of the room. It also took a very long time until the plates were cleared away. We were also not asked during the courses whether everything was OK or whether, for example, we would like a spoon for courses that were rich in sauce. Especially in the higher price range and with the flagship “Alexander Herrmann” we would have expected a little more from this evening - especially better service. The food itself was not freshly prepared to order but rather warmed up and served. Still, it was mostly tasty. Due to the price, which is still quite incomprehensibly high for us, we give it 3/5 stars. Service and ambience only 1 star. We cannot recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, there are much better and cheaper restaurants than this.

Our waitress Tanja was fit. She was able to give good advice and was perceptive when she answered whether the food was good and the answer “Correct” came. The starter of crustacean foam soup was very tasty. The main course: Duck with pretzel filling, red cabbage and beetroot was correct! Duck + stuffing was hot, Red cabbage lukewarm, beetroot slightly warmed. Dessert: Apple strudel and oven pancakes are delicious again. 2 espressos delicious. When Tanja asked the chef, she came back with the answer that this is how the duck should be. This was not entirely understandable to us. Nevertheless, we will come back and hope that it is super good next time.

Case for Rosins Restaurants. I've never eaten so badly. Choice at 3 p.m. Christmas party ZERO, there wasn't even a cocktail. Completely overpriced, everything that ended up in the trash. That's supposed to be a bowl??? There wasn't any more choice anyway. The question of whether it was tasty was a farce because the plates were all returned full. I was ashamed to have invited people like that

We ate at Fränk'ness today and ordered a 5-course menu for two people (€95) The ambience was very nice, the welcome warm, tables close together, but still enough space. The toilets were rather average. The only alternative to shrimp was pumpkin; unfortunately there was no wine to accompany the menu. Overall, the waitress had little knowledge of wine. The focaccia was delicious! The starter was very spicy due to chili - unfortunately this was not mentioned. The beetroot tartare was very tasty. The main course with the char was also very tasty, but when serving it the waiter poured a whole pot of sauce over the plate so that the small piece of fish was drowned, which was not to my taste. The duck was very tasty. The oven cheese turned out to be goat cheese (which wasn't on the menu), which was more than disappointing. When I asked, I was told that it was actually goat cheese and that the course could be replaced with a drink, but I said no. My suggestion to calculate a 4-course menu was answered in the affirmative. No further action was taken by staff. Overall, overall value for money not given, staff not on their toes. The waiting time between courses was too long (30-40 minutes) Unfortunately, more appearance than reality. It's a shame because we were really looking forward to visiting the restaurant.

On Friday, December 6th, 2024, I went to Santa's dinner with four friends. We enjoyed a delicious four-course meal. At first we were worried that we wouldn't be full, but the opposite was the case - we were more than full. The wine “Herrgott” was a real pleasure, simply heavenly. We were looked after at the table by various waitresses and everyone was extremely friendly. I would particularly like to highlight one employee who actually works in the office, but who also served us very attentively and warmly. Unfortunately I don't know her name as she wasn't wearing a name tag, but she exuded a remarkable calm despite the full house and the stress. An absolute highlight of the evening was that Mr. Herrmann happened to be there. I had the opportunity to take a photo with him - a moment that perfectly rounded off the evening. Orawan P.

Day visit to Nuremberg for the Christmas market. Have a nice meal beforehand? Fraenk'ness was our goal. It was very tasty, very cozy and very nice there. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area. And will definitely recommend it.

We were at Frankness for a business lunch. It took 30 minutes to order, even though the restaurant wasn't completely full. We ordered entrôte and char. Instead they wanted to serve us a duck with a mini dumpling, at least the waitress apologized for the mistake. Half of the entrecôte consisted of pure fat, the char turned out to be salmon trout... When serving, the waiter tipped an entire jug of sauce over the plate, so that the small piece of fish had to swim again. The apple strudel for dessert was partly burnt, the ice cream was inedible... Conclusion: The service, neither attractively dressed nor appropriately trained, and the food are not at all up to the standard that the restaurant claims to be. We were very disappointed. They are mini portions that are served carelessly here. I definitely expect something different from a well-known restaurant in this price range. Price/performance doesn't fit here at all.

Service and ambience receive full marks. The star chef A.Herrmann is very present at Fränk'ness, with large posters on the outside and cookbooks and merchandising inside. However, star cuisine is not reflected on the plate. You shouldn't go out to eat there with that expectation. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good and deserves 4 stars. The fact that there are only 3 in my rating has to do with the dessert. An ice cream parfait that was very disappointing and where you can and should rightly expect a little more at these prices. Very disappointing in terms of taste and the dessert should remain in the guest's memory as the last good memory of the visit. With a menu price for 2 people (without drinks) of €140, the last course also has to be very good.

Even when reserving the table, the very appreciative tone towards the guest was noticeable. The feeling continued in the restaurant. Very friendly, very attentive but not intrusive service. The employee had an incredibly good wine recommendation. The food was very tasty and the praise could be passed on directly to the kitchen crew in the open kitchen. Overall, not just a visit to a restaurant but a dining experience - in the style of AH. Well done. Consistent from start to finish! Very happy again!

Today we had dinner at Fränk'ness with two children. As soon as we entered we were greeted very friendly and personally. The children got something to paint and the drinks came very quickly. The menu is priced from €20 upwards for the main courses. There was a special menu for the children which included, among other things, a vegan superhero Bolognese, which of course the children were really excited about and also enjoyed. The children's meals were priced at under €10. The food was very tasty and the portions weren't too small. The service really tried extremely hard despite the staff shortage. I can therefore highly recommend the restaurant!

The food is very good. BUT at this price level I expect better service. I sat with an empty glass for a very long time. Empty glass was not taken. Allergens were not identified - there were dairy products in the food that were not on the menu. At these prices I would find some bread at the front almost obligatory. That's better. The invoice then arrived immediately.

I ate very well here. The service is on point. The atmosphere is inviting. The prices are high but are absolutely justified for the quality. Our beef fillet was very tender and on point. The pumpkin cream soup was an absolute hit in terms of taste. Gladly again.

Thank you for the super friendly, attentive service. We felt really comfortable at our wedding anniversary dinner. Super nice cook, was really funny and made our delicious meal really “round”. (roast duck, corn-fed chicken, apple strudel, oven-baked pancakes) Everyone is in a good mood in an atmosphere that makes you feel good.

The restaurant in Nuremberg city center doesn't have any frills. Wooden tables, courteous employees and an open kitchen - nothing distracts from the... GOOD FOOD off. The Brettla is recommended for beginners (from 4 people)... an approx. 2 meter long board with various types of meat and side dishes. Our visit to Fränk'ness can be described in a few words: great culinary experience.

Honestly, I'm at a loss for words. I came in because I was looking for a cozy place for me and my notebook. There's an important meeting coming up today and if it's convenient we'll sit here for a few hours today. You don't want a doss house, it can be a bit pleasant. I'll be there earlier than the others and can eat something beforehand. Actually, I don't feel like a burger, I want something sensible. I am greeted very nicely and the menu is like the one on TV. Attractive, few dishes and the prices suggest that it must be good. I fall for the burger and think to myself: Shit is a sin again. 10 minutes later it is there and comes with side dishes that also give an idea of what is going on here. This isn't a restaurant in the classic sense, it's a truffle butze. But what kind. The burger is so big that I decide to eat it with a knife and fork. I don't have to be afraid, I can't do it. Then the first bite, the second and the third bite makes it clear to me that I have done EVERYTHING right. Today is my lucky day. I urgently need to go here again with my family, I HAVE to share this with them. It's a shame my wife isn't there. I actually wanted to work, my. The battery is weak, the appointment is the same. Take your loved ones with you, you just have to experience what's going on here for yourself, it tastes so delicious, you have to gargle the burger in white wine, that's awesome.

Beautiful atmosphere, professional service. Very good roasting sausages with truffles, accompanied by super good sauerkraut and tasty homemade bread. “The aperitif”, in the form of pita bread covered with spices accompanied by a thin cream cheese spread, was delicious! The house beer is also excellent. Prices are high, but value for money is really good.

It's important to know in advance that you can't eat there without a reservation; you always have to reserve a table. We took the "all you can eat" offer. The food was unique! Incredibly delicious and so many different things, Arabic tapas describes it best. The employees are very nice and always make sure that everything fits and whether a second helping is desired. Simply great, definitely go there again 👍

A wonderful little Francophile restaurant with excellent fine dining. The food is excellent. The service is friendly and courteous without seeming aloof. The atmosphere is bright and full of French influences. At times even provocative. Conclusion: Ideal for a romantic date. We'd love to come back.
