Absolutely disappointed, we made a reservation. When making the reservation you had to specify whether you wanted to sit outside or inside, but this was not mentioned, we thought we would be sitting outside. The staff were friendly but drilled into making sales. The portions were a joke and the price was outrageous and not in any way proportionate. The food was very tasty but you don't get full. Starter: 3 Nuremberg bratwursts 18 euros, 150g fish with a side dish 40 euros, a side salad 16 euros and the advertised Kaiserschmarren 10 euros is a sponge cake or something else... nothing to do with a Kaiserschmarren. It's a real shame, the evening was a complete disaster, I'm absolutely disappointed.

Beautiful outdoor terrace, incredibly friendly service, and the braised and pulled duck burger was simply sensational. The homemade lemonades are also excellent!

We went out to eat today with a group of four. The service was super friendly, and Tanya served us well. Loraine's food was incredibly delicious! The others had burgers and were also completely satisfied! It's a bit more expensive, but the quality is good. Highly recommended.

We were there yesterday to celebrate my birthday. I had mentioned it in the reservation, but unfortunately it didn't make any difference. I would have appreciated a small gift or a congratulations. The food was fantastic, and the portions were very generous. The service was a bit of a negative for us. First, we were pressured to order quickly; my daughter hadn't even finished reading the menu. When I was paying, the lady took my debit card out of my hands, which is completely unacceptable in my opinion! Conclusion: Excellent food, service could be improved.

Tanja, our waitress, was a dream. Very attentive and courteous. We had lunch, which was excellent. Thank you, we'll be happy to come back. Many thanks also to Loraine in the kitchen.

Today we visited fränk'ness again after a while. They have a truly fantastic selection for a business lunch. The service (Tanja) and the cook (Loraine) outdid themselves today. The food was excellent, and the service was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food showcased a beautiful interplay of flavors, combining acidity, sweetness, saltiness, and umami. For anyone who wants to experience fine Franconian cuisine, I recommend this visit to Fränk'ness. To our surprise, they kindly offered us a complimentary dessert today. Completely satisfied.

We eat at fränk'ness every now and then, and it's always been very good. The open kitchen is an experience, the food is high quality, and the service is very friendly and fast.

This wasn't our first time here. The food was very good, except for the chicken, which was a bit dry. My four-course meal with char, beetroot, roast lamb, and goat cheese, as well as the dry-aged pork and beef, was impeccable and flavorful. For the price, I would have expected at least one or two side dishes. These could be ordered additionally for €6.00. Unfortunately, the service today wasn't up to par. Despite the friendly approach, the price of the food lacked appropriate customer service. The food was served without even looking at the guests, and no one asked if everything was okay. After paying, we left the restaurant alone. It's a shame, as we've had a great experience so far.

Just when you think you've seen it all, this restaurant comes along. We had the pleasure of ordering a shrimp salad. The first round? Absolutely unforgettable: The shrimp were so salty you could easily use them to salt the streets in winter. But hey, maybe the kitchen just wanted to show that they're also at the forefront of "preservation." We then complained politely and—how generous—received a new salad. And lo and behold: This time the shrimp were raw! Probably an artistic attempt at combining sushi and salad. Visionary. The wait was equally impressive. Enough time to do my tax return, write a book, and question the meaning of life. And when the salad finally arrived: it wasn't cut. Just half a lettuce, halved once, in the bowl. Rustic, like grandma's garden. And all of this for a mere €16. A real bargain for raw shrimp, salt with leaf salad, and a wait that would make even the authorities jealous. Conclusion: For anyone who loves adventure on the plate and enjoys playing with their health – an absolute recommendation! For everyone else: Go somewhere else.

Really bad. Ordered salad twice. In one case, the shrimp were too salty. In the other, they were almost raw.

This restaurant used to be quite good, but it's become a complete joke. Absurd prices for tiny dishes; even the sauces cost an extra €5 to €10. Even at low occupancy, you wait a very long time for your food. The service staff are extremely overwhelmed. Sometimes times are shown as fully booked, even though practically all the tables remain free for hours afterward. Extremely disappointing! We'll definitely never be back.

The food was excellent, but unfortunately the service was poor. Of particular note was the fact that empty glasses were simply covered, no requests for new drinks were made, and no opportunity to order was even offered. Instead, the customer was repeatedly on their cell phone. Inquiries about orders sometimes went unanswered. When a chair broke and the person injured themselves in the subsequent fall, there wasn't even an initial inquiry to see if they were okay. Apart from an ice pack upon request, there was no support or compensation offered. The behavior in this context was absolutely unacceptable. Despite the excellent food, I won't be coming back. What a shame!

We just wanted a drink because the place looked so nice. We were yelled at at the door, "OUTSIDE!" When we asked to look at the wines, they rolled their eyes. 🙄 Since no one came after ten minutes of sitting outside, we unfortunately couldn't get anything to drink or eat (a shame).

We ate at Fränkness for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Our waitress, Tanja, served us with great care. Her colleague, Hue, also had a commendable "all-round view" and immediately noticed that we had another drink request. All in all, we found it very relaxing and pleasant and would happily recommend it.

The burger was delicious, and the open kitchen was a great spectacle. Service was very polite and courteous. You do have to be a little patient when ordering, but everything was within reason. The prices are on the high side, but the food is of very high quality. The truffle mayo is tasty, but in my opinion, it somewhat overpowers the rest of the flavor.

Conveniently located. Interesting design. Recipes pretend to be original. Portions are small. Prices are too high. And the service… add friendliness. We expected more.

On May 10, 2025, we had reserved a booth for dinner for a 70th birthday. Upon arrival, the lady didn't honor the reservation at all and wanted to give us a table right next to the entrance door. Only when we declined and wanted to leave did we get the booth we had reserved. What we found there was very disappointing: no tablecloth, a bare table, and cutlery lying on the tabletop. We each ordered a 5-course meal. Each course was carelessly presented. We had barely finished our plates when the next course was carelessly placed on the table. Each course was only lukewarm, pure baiting. Likewise, the cutlery that was brought out each time was brought with bare hands and placed back on the bare tabletop. The price-performance ratio here is not right at all. Perhaps the owners should venture out to a country inn and see how to do this to ensure guest satisfaction. Anyone who spends more than 100 euros per person on dinner expects something commensurate in return. which was not provided here Unfortunately, the operators have not commented on the many negative reviews.

I expected more. About the location: everyone has to decide for themselves. An open kitchen in the restaurant is optional, but it's not necessary. The four of us had the 2-meter Bratla (sausage platter) for €69 per person. I joked: It's a Dubrovnik grill plate, Franconian style. First, about the service: friendly, attentive, quick, simply relaxed and in a good mood. All the food was of excellent quality. The meat was very good, but cooked very rare. Some had to be cooked again, but that wasn't a problem. The salads were very tasty. Mushroom jus, okay, other dips were delicious. Now for my serious criticisms. If the kitchen is open, please don't eat from hand to mouth in front of guests. Alexander Hermann and I weren't allowed to do that 35 years ago. Serving platters and plates were cold. Unfortunately, this meant the food cooled down quickly. Absolute no-go: When the platter was served, the waiter took our wine and water bottles, placed them on the floor at my feet, and left. Hello Alex, further training is needed. Otherwise, as I said, quite okay. Not again.

We felt completely at home during our visit to Fränkness. Chef Wraine was excellent at accommodating my specific allergy and immediately came up with alternative ideas, perfectly adapting my chosen Kikok corn-fed chicken to my liking. Tanja's service was extremely attentive and unobtrusive, very friendly. We felt like we were staying with friends and will definitely return to Fränkness when we're back in Nuremberg.

The service was very attentive, the ambiance pleasant, but we were very disappointed with the food. The 2-meter-long Brettl, which we ordered for five people, was far too small and the quality was not what we expected. We informed the staff, who would pass it on to the restaurant management, but nothing happened. A small gift on the house would have been nice! ---> The price/performance ratio is NOT right.

My daughter invited me to Mother's Day brunch in 2025, but unfortunately, it was a disaster. Some things were overseasoned, and some weren't seasoned at all. Most of it came in yogurt jars. There was no common thread. We felt sick and rushed home before dessert. Mother's Day was awful for us. We won't be going there again.

Not worth the fuss but the service was very friendly. I would stick to drinks and light appetizers. The main courses are disappointing.

I ordered the duck breast. It was not well spiced or well marinated. The vegetables were not well prepared either. Service was good. The price is extremely inflated for such bad quality.

The asparagus cream soup was very tasty. I liked the slightly sour freshness. It could have been a bit hotter, though. The beef tartare can be ordered in three different versions. I had the Franconian version with horseradish and sour cream. Something completely different! I really liked it. The meat was of very good quality. I also liked that it wasn't sliced/scraped so finely. This really enhances the fresh flavor of the meat. A third piece of bread would have been a good addition to the 80g portion. The cucumber salad was also very good. A perfect accompaniment and something fresh for in between meals. It was a bit of a shame, and it doesn't fit with the general impression of the shop and the staff, that you're not really noticed on the terrace. Guests who arrived after me were greeted, but then waited about 20-30 minutes for their orders to be taken. But I think it was just a coincidence today... Because all the staff, both in the service and in the kitchen, had a great charisma and you get the feeling they enjoy their work. It was once again a wonderful experience, and I can only recommend Fränk'ness!

My first visit was very friendly, the service was very friendly, and the food and drink selection were well explained. A top-notch experience, with very good taste.

Portions were mini small. Steak was completely done instead of well. You sit among all the rabble in Nuremberg. And I have never (!) eaten such bad and disgusting Kaiserschmarrn. For the price, no thanks. !!!

It's been a while since we've had dinner again and we were quite disappointed. The service was ok, quite nice and friendly, but not exceptional. The food was good, the duck breast was fried until tender and pink, and the beef fillet was medium and tender as ordered. But the price-performance ratio is completely excessive. For the duck without side dishes €38 is unreasonable. Even if you consider the ambience, no tablecloths, not even placemats at the table. Unfortunately there is no risk of a repeat.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and really made our evening special. The atmosphere was stylish and at the same time pleasantly relaxed - just right for a special occasion. Unfortunately, our visit to Fränk'ness did not meet our expectations that we had for a restaurant of this name and reputation. Unfortunately, the food only came to the table lukewarm. Despite the rather large 2 meter board on which the dish was served, the amount of meat that was served and then ended up on individual, preheated plates was rather disappointing. The food tastes okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately We would have expected more. The place where we sat was also anything but pleasant. We were seated directly in the booth at the reception. This left us feeling like we were sitting on a bench right by the train track, but not in a cozy restaurant. The direct instruction when placed at the table that the place should be vacated at 7:45 p.m. also did not contribute to the desired overall picture. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. In our opinion, the price was completely excessive for the quality and comfort offered. Overall it was a rather disappointing experience. We're hoping it's a one-off blip, but for us it definitely wasn't what we were hoping for the evening.

Excellent food at very good location. The restaurant serves traditional food but with a modern twist. The restaurant looks really nice but we have been sitting outside. Unfortunately, since we were with 3 people we were unable to try sharing plates (gigantic wooden planks with a variety of food from the menu). However, we were satisfied with the single dishes. I would recommend this place.

Perfect combination of food, extremely delicious

Unfortunately not my taste at all. You can see the Franconian roots but the concept and interpretation didn't make sense to me at all. To be honest, I found half of the courses on the menu inedible.

Actually not a location to my taste, too modern for me. But top staff, friendly, accommodating and also great and exciting to see the open kitchen.

Four of us had ordered a "Brettla" and wanted to upgrade it to the "Expert version" for two people. But that wasn't possible! Why? After waiting 20 minutes at the table, the preheated plates were unfortunately cold when the Brettla arrived. The meat was only lukewarm from the start, so we had to let it warm up - a shame, as the cooking level and the taste suffer. The pork entrecote was unfortunately dry, the other components were very tasty. The service is very friendly and attentive. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not balanced.

Last weekend, my husband and I were treated to dinner at Fränk'ness. We were warmly welcomed by the staff with beaming smiles, which were truly infectious! :) Our table was beautifully set and, thanks to the walls on the sides, a private spot with beautiful wallpaper on the wall. We could see the open kitchen from our table, which was lovely to watch how lovingly the food is prepared. The Fränk'ness Spritz is delicious and highly recommended as a drink. My husband had a burger with Franconian fries and a side salad. I had a delicious curry that was perfectly seasoned and served with delicious rice. We even had the chance to chat with Alexander Herrmann for a bit after dinner - he took the time to sit down with us. :) We actually didn't want dessert at first, but we couldn't resist, and I have to say: I would have regretted not having it! ;) A delicious chocolate cake with a soft center, served with delicious strawberries and sorbet! So lovingly and deliciously prepared - my personal thanks to the chef!!! We highly recommend the restaurant, are already looking forward to returning to Fränk'ness and hereby give it a full 5 stars!!!! ⭐️ 😍

Great service, Vanessa and her team made for an unforgettable evening. The tartare as a starter was the perfect start to a wonderful evening. The delicious main course was actually trumped by a magnificent chocolate soufflé. Big praise for the roses on the table for our anniversary and the anniversary greeting from the kitchen - a champagne sorbet.

The second visit to Fränk'ness was absolutely disappointing. The tables in the restaurant are far too close together, and you're almost sitting at your neighbor's table, or rather, you can see their plate up close. The meat itself was of high quality, even if the price of €38.00 without side dishes is borderline excessive for a duck breast. The "pink-roasted" degree of doneness was completely missed; it can only be described as "medium rare" with great indulgence. The potato gratin I ordered with it was absolutely ordinary, with no trace of cheese. The presentation on the plate can hardly be described as "pretty." On a plain white plate, the duck breast (cut into three pieces) was at the bottom, a floret of pickled cauliflower and a teaspoon of roasted onion crumble with a dollop of cream at the top – and nothing in between. The corn-fed chicken breast was served whole and was presented just as spartanly as the duck breast. The green vegetables ordered with it lacked flavor. The "Easy Rose" from Weingut Waldschütz was okay, but still overpriced at €11.00 for a 0.2l. The service was attentive, but nothing more. We won't be visiting Fränk'ness again because, all in all, the value for money isn't right.

Unfortunately it didn't really convince me. Ambience is ok but nothing special. The service is quick and nice, but the outfit and demeanor reminded me more of a student bar. Food quite good, but you somehow expect more. The biggest problem is the price-performance ratio - in my opinion, for what you get, it's completely beyond good and bad

On March 11, 2025, as a group of 20 people, we visited a restaurant where we had reserved the table in advance. Despite our written reservation, when we arrived we were split up into three separate tables, not suitable for such a large group. The somewhat sakarst restaurant manager explained that due to the restaurant being at full capacity, no adjustments were possible anyway.​ We also ordered a four-course menu for €79 per person as well as a welcome drink and printed menus (e3.5). Unfortunately, the quality of the food and drinks did not meet our expectations, especially considering the high price. Although the service was attempted, the staff seemed inexperienced, which may be due to a lack of training or temporary help.​ Overall our visit was disappointing and disproportionate to the value for money. We hope that the restaurant will improve its internal operations and the quality of food and service to provide a better experience for future guests.

I saw the AH Restaurant, became curious and really liked it there. Ate vegetarian food, drank a good rose and particularly enjoyed the dessert because it pleasantly surprised me with the taste. Thank you for the very good and very friendly service as well as for the special taste combinations. This can then cost a little more compared to other restaurants. Please continue to be creative and high quality. 😀

We were there for the first time and were looking forward to top quality a la Herrmann. Reality extremely sobering! Ordered Fleischbrettla: completely overpriced, small quantity, poor quality (including disgusting, fatty pork). Service inattentive and quite disinterested. It's a shame, but we won't be coming anymore.

Unfortunately I can't give many more stars because I didn't get beyond the threshold. Despite the posted opening hours of 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., I was more or less turned away from the restaurant around 4:45 p.m. with the comment "The opening times were correct, but you can't do anything for now." And this from a highly unmotivated employee who slouched on the reception desk while listening to this comment. I simply expected more, especially since I had planned the train journey there specifically so that I could visit the restaurant during the stopover. Too bad!

There were two of us here for dinner. The reception was friendly but simple. Unfortunately, we were not asked at the table whether we would like to hand over our jackets. Other service staff were better here. The food was more than delicious! However, the service did not match the price of €140 for starter and main course! Nothing was recommended when choosing wine. The guests at the next table, however, do. Even tasting was offered. It's a shame that the service here isn't the same for everyone. As I said...I expect that at these prices. I've had much better experiences in simpler restaurants. Conclusion: You can eat deliciously but you shouldn't expect a lot of service for your money. There is a lot of room for improvement!

Hello, I was there with my wife 2 weeks ago. It was very nice for us, great staff and great food. I would drive from Leverkusen to Nuremberg just for the dessert (apple strudel). Thank you for the great hours in your restaurant. P.S. I'll try to recreate the strudel without a recipe (even though I don't really like strudel). Greetings Christian

Disappointing experience when we stopped for lunch this Wednesday 1.11.2023. The service was terrible, we waited extremely long even for a bottle of water. The waiters were slow and inattentive, mistook multiple requests, gave unrelated excuses - and the restaurant was 3/4 empty! The food was good but the portions are ridiculously small - but expensive of course. We won’t come again and won’t recommend it to anyone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ really expected more from an AH restaurant. Edit: Fourth time the restaurant tries to delete my review. If you had apologized or reacted any other way I would have met you in the middle. But no, you prefer to take legal measures to remove an honest review?

Visited the restaurant as part of a business trip. Make an online reservation beforehand! If you are ever in Nuremberg you have to visit an AH restaurant. Very modern atmosphere. Location: centrally located in the old town. The whole facility is perfectly coordinated. The pink tones don't seem intrusive. It's just right. Food: At first I thought the pumpkin soup was nothing “special”. However, you notice the finely tuned nuances with every spoonful you eat. The main course, the entrecote from dry aged pork, was wonderfully tender. Awesome pepper jus. (I then spooned it out) Dessert was the nut butter vanilla parfait. When I ate the parfait alone, I thought it was a bit tasteless. In combination with the tangerines, the chocolate sauce and the espresso sprinkles, it's a dream! The statement that you should try everything together is true again. If you are in Nuremberg, definitely worth a visit. Price performance wonderful!

Food great, service flops. The three of us were in the restaurant at peak time on Saturday evening and reserved a table in advance. We received a very friendly welcome and decided on the 6-course menu offered and two 3-course meals that we had put together ourselves. Unfortunately, the service team was not helpful in making the selection. The waitress couldn't answer any information or questions about the food, and the idea of ​​asking in the kitchen or asking a colleague didn't happen either. She didn't know what an English or medium rare steak was and said she couldn't do anything with it. The chef would certainly have known... Another waitress walked around for about 10 minutes with our drinks and those ordered from the neighboring table and then "slammed" them onto the table without a tray. When the guests at the neighboring table left, the leftover food from the table was quickly swept onto the floor. When we looked at her in shock, she laughed pleasantly. Finally, the water bottle was knocked over on the table with a clatter, which is not a bad thing and can happen to anyone. However, you could at least ask if everything is ok and not just say "Sorry". When paying with a credit card, she asked directly how much the tip should be. The food was excellent and 100% recommended. Overall, we can definitely recommend a visit here. However, you notice that, in contrast to the Imperial one floor above, there are no specialist staff in service here. But you can still give the guest the feeling that you care or are making an effort, then the above incidents would perhaps have been less memorable to us. Especially given the prices are actually not cheap, you can expect that a waitress will at least comb your hair or offer to ask in the kitchen.

Since I don't normally move in such circles and had already had negative experiences with such cuisine once in my life (over 20 years ago I was in a star restaurant for my father's 50th birthday. The food wasn't good and the portions were tiny) , I was a bit skeptical. To be honest, I assumed that the price-performance level would not be right and that it would end up being an expensive disappointment. And beyond that, I feared I might be underdressed. In all cases I was proven wrong. Of course you shouldn't show up there in a jogging suit, but normal clothing is enough. There was no one in a suit or expensive dress. The food tasted very good. Since it was a brunch, there were a lot of courses, which were a bit smaller in themselves, but in total they ensured that I was not only full but really full after the total of 3.5 hours. The drinks were included, so there were no hidden costs that would have artificially increased the price. The service occasionally seemed a bit scheduled and overloaded, but was still very friendly. In conclusion, I can say that 100 euros per person for brunch is of course not something you do every day, but the experience is definitely worth the money.

Smart ideas, well implemented, food tasted very good. However, the dishes were in poor condition, every bowl was chipped and there was a risk of injury. Unacceptable, more of a case for the public order office.

Went there for lunch today with 4 people. Everything was wonderful. The food was very good, Tanja in service was very loving and listened to our children's every wish. We were allowed to spontaneously move into the pink cloud niche. Definitely a recommendation if you are in Nuremberg.
