Fränk'ness in Nürnberg

This was seriously the best restaurant I've ever had in Germany! First of all, the waiter was so friendly! My plans were a bit shaky, so I popped in on a whim, but it was absolutely delicious. ㅠㅠ I ordered the first beer on the menu, and it was absolutely delicious! I guess beers with the restaurant's name on them are always the best. Haha For the main course(?), I had the three sausages, tartar, salad, and as a side dish, potatoes with cheese added(?)! Seriously, how soft was the tartar? The salad was just okay. But the sauce was refreshing, so it paired well with the other dishes. I should've ordered the five sausages. It was a bit small, but it paired really well with the truffle mushrooms. I highly recommend this restaurant! (Total cost: about 97 euros?)

We spent a pleasant evening in Nuremberg. We ordered one 4-course meal, one 3-course meal a la carte, and spaghetti with a children's side salad, as well as Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) for our daughter. We found the service a bit too lax at times, even though the restaurant only had around 20 guests during our visit. Sometimes, there were long waits for drinks or endless waiting times at the pass; this could be directly observed from the outdoor seating (intermediate course more than 5 minutes), and criticism was dismissed with a smile. Fruit flies in open wine are annoying, but preventable by consistently sealing the bottle; of course, they were replaced without hesitation. It should have been obvious with the first course, or at least communicated by the waiter, that the shrimp were raw. The braised vegetables were delicious, especially the pickled cauliflower, which played a great role here; unfortunately, the wait time at the pass was very long, 5 minutes or more. The veal cheeks and soba noodles with chanterelle mushrooms were also very tasty. The cheek was very soft, and the sauce was very tasty. The chanterelles were slightly dried, in my opinion, to intensify the flavor. My daughter was perfectly satisfied with the spaghetti Bolognese and salad. The baked cheese was also a great choice, especially the combination of warm, different cheeses, and the chutney. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn doesn't bear much resemblance to a traditional Schmarrn (smothered pancake). It was a sponge cake in strips with sugar, warmed in the oven, but the apricot and sour cream ice cream were really great. Unfortunately, it's not possible to award half stars, so only 3 stars for the food. The outdoor seating is nicely arranged, but also necessary to compensate for the noise of the pedestrian zone. Youth groups wander about in droves, and they let you in on their musical tastes at a very loud pace. We actually expected more from this evening, but whether it was due to the summer lull, I can't say. However, there will be a second tasting in the fall.

Five of us went out to dinner today with a reservation, and it was delicious. We had the burger with fries, two gratinated beef fillet dishes, a side salad with pork belly, and two oven-baked pancakes. For drinks, we had the Franconian house beer, a shandy, raspberry-lime iced tea, and an orange juice. We were very satisfied; it was delicious and met our requirements. Tanja was super nice and helped us choose our table; we had a wheelchair with us.

Everything was wonderful! The food was exquisitely seasoned and combined, not your average meal. The service was super friendly and attentive. The value for money is still good here if you want to treat yourself to something special. We'd love to come back!

The food was truly amazing; we had four different dishes at the table, and all of them were excellent. Delicious recipes and superbly seasoned, truly superb. And then there was the excellent and very friendly service—there's nothing to complain about, absolutely recommended.

We had excellent food and received excellent advice beforehand. We sat outside on the ground floor. The quality of the service left nothing to be desired. Our server was Tanja. The meal itself was perfectly balanced in every way and had many highlights, both big and small. For me, the most notable was the new invention of fries. Enjoying fries with cream cheese instead of ketchup and mayonnaise is definitely something you should try. This clearly demonstrates that good service and a great meal are perfectly possible in jeans and a T-shirt. Enjoy!

The food was excellent. We had a three-course business lunch; every course was delicious (especially the dessert) and just the right amount.

The food was average; I would have expected more from this place. I had the flambéed shrimp and the burger. The location is great; you can reach the restaurant from the main train station in just a few minutes on foot; a car isn't necessary. The service (Tanja) is very polite, professional, and handles customer requests perfectly. She's the waitress that both guests and owners want!

Supposedly one of the best chefs in the region, the Franconian tapas we ordered had nothing special, no new or exciting flavors, or the touch of a haute cuisine chef. The staff was friendly, but couldn't recommend any dishes, nor what pairs well with which dish, what's the most ordered, the most desired. They didn't even ask, "Have you been here before? Our concept is xyz, house recommendation is... It goes well with xyz drink..." We liked the anniversary gift with a glass of cava and ice cream. Considering the price and the offer, it seemed expensive. We won't be back.

We went to Fränk'ness for our birthday because we wanted something special, and it was, without a doubt. We expected it to be delicious, but honestly, we didn't expect what we got. Every dish was a standout. Everything was cooked to perfection. Wonderful flavor nuances. Every component on the plate was "prepared" in some way, so there were many very pleasant surprises. I would say I've never eaten such delicious food. Added to that is the truly amazing, attentive service, without being intrusive. The value for money is definitely very good in my opinion. You really get a lot for your money. Good quality products, handcrafted food, and great service.

Brunch, Bubbles & Champagne not recommended! Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio here is completely out of sync. We paid €120 per person, and given the name Brunch, Bubbles & Champagne, we expected more. As you might know and expect from other brunch events, the courses here are very limited. We also have to say that the food didn't taste good either. It was either too seasoned or too little. A lot of time passed between courses without any information being provided. We ordered additional wine (at extra cost), which unfortunately wasn't cold enough, so we couldn't drink it until later. Regarding the service, it must also be said that basic service rules were not in place (the food was always served to the men first). The clothing of the service staff was also not appropriate for the standard... very figure-hugging leggings. Yes, there was some attentive staff, but everything else wasn't good enough. Summary of the brunch... absolutely not recommended, and not value for money. A real shame!

Fränk'ness is in a class of its own! As soon as we entered, we were greeted very warmly, and there was a very pleasant atmosphere, accompanied by pleasant background music. The service was excellent without being intrusive. All the food and drinks we ordered were delicious, and the portions were generous. Upscale dining at moderate prices. The lady in the kitchen told us as we left, "We cook with love." We certainly noticed!

The lovely Tanja was our server for the visit, and it was fantastic all around. The service was incredibly attentive and courteous. The food was okay, but I can't recommend the ramen that much. The chicken, on the other hand, was really delicious and juicy. Unfortunately, the salad was a nearly uncut head of lettuce, so most of it was left uncut. For starters, we had the steak tartare with sautéed mushrooms and fries with truffle sauce, which were outstanding. Thank you for the lovely stay 🥰

I had the set menu from the monster menu. The price was unbeatable. Three courses for €22, and I was absolutely stuffed! Only in restaurants like this do you realize how much junk we're usually served! It tasted freshly cooked! Tanja, the waitress, was very attentive and genuinely polite! A rarity these days. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Four of us went to Fränk'ness for lunch today for a business lunch. Thanks to the surprisingly good weather, we were able to sit outside in the covered area. The lunch menu was straightforward (and that's a good thing) with a good selection of delicious dishes. We had salad and Maultaschen for starters, followed by char, burgers, and potato pancakes. All dishes were prepared with great attention to detail and were delicious. A dessert of Ofenschmarrn (a delicious apricot compote served with it) and a chocolate cake with a liquid center rounded off the wonderful culinary experience. A compliment also goes to Tanja's friendly and uncomplicated service. It was a real pleasure. I'd love to come back.

Very attentive and quick service. Guests feel at home here. As expected, the food didn't disappoint. Only the beef fillet was only partially cooked medium rare... For a price of over €50 for 250g, I expect 100% spot-on. The side dishes were excellent! The beef tartar as a starter was very good. The Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was fantastic.

The food is of extremely high quality and very tasty. The prices, although high, are quite reasonable.

Positive: The food was very good! The cook even came to the table (albeit by chance) and asked if we enjoyed it - we thought that was very good! Negative: A boisterous bachelorette party with lots of loud laughter spoiled the atmosphere for everyone else who wanted to enjoy the lovely evening with good food. Although other guests also complained, nothing was done by the service team. Furthermore, the wait times between ordering, appetizer, and main course were so long that at the end of the evening, we skipped dessert due to time constraints. A place setting for butter and bread was ready, suggesting that something else was coming, but it never did. So we ordered some bread with our soup, which was added to the bill at the end. At this level, a greeting from the kitchen wouldn't be a bad idea either - yes, that's complaining at a high level, but when Alexander Herrmann is standing outside the door, you can expect a bit more.

We came to Frank‘ness for lunch after having a wonderful dinner here the night before. We ordered a couple of burgers which were very flavourful however the burger itself was a little too rare for our taste. We mentioned it to Tanja who was serving us and she very lovely about it and the chef Loraine treated us to a chocolate cake and berries to make it up to us. Overall we had a good experience.

There were five of us there. We ordered the 2-meter board for five people. The basic version costs 69 euros per person. The menu states that the board is available for four people. This suggests that the more people you order, the more food you get – unfortunately, not. The meal was for four people (although the fifth person also pays 69 euros...). It's designed so that two people share a side. Unfortunately, we weren't informed of this when we ordered. Otherwise, everyone would have ordered their own. The food, however, was very good. The chocolate cake with a liquid center was highly recommended. The ramen noodles were my personal highlight. We'd be happy to come back, but without ordering the board.

We celebrated my sister's bachelorette party there and made a reservation through Open Table. When we arrived, we were very kindly given the choice between a table outside on the terrace, a table inside, or the pink box. The service was very flexible and friendly; when we opted for the pink box, it was set up especially for us. Our food was top-quality, tasty, and cooked to perfection. Overall, I'd like to emphasize the excellent service again; everyone was super friendly and we felt completely at home. If you want to celebrate a special day or just want good service, you should definitely try Fränk'ness 🙂 Our personal waitress, Tanja, did a fantastic job; the cook even came to our table once with a greeting from the kitchen 🙂

Absolutely disappointed, we made a reservation. When making the reservation you had to specify whether you wanted to sit outside or inside, but this was not mentioned, we thought we would be sitting outside. The staff were friendly but drilled into making sales. The portions were a joke and the price was outrageous and not in any way proportionate. The food was very tasty but you don't get full. Starter: 3 Nuremberg bratwursts 18 euros, 150g fish with a side dish 40 euros, a side salad 16 euros and the advertised Kaiserschmarren 10 euros is a sponge cake or something else... nothing to do with a Kaiserschmarren. It's a real shame, the evening was a complete disaster, I'm absolutely disappointed.

The food was fantastic, and the portions were very generous. The service was a bit of a negative for us. First, we were pressured to order quickly; my daughter hadn't even finished reading the menu. When I was paying, the lady took my debit card out of my hands, which is completely unacceptable in my opinion! Conclusion: Excellent food, service could be improved.

Today we visited fränk'ness again after a while. They have a truly fantastic selection for a business lunch. The service (Tanja) and the cook (Loraine) outdid themselves today. The food was excellent, and the service was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food showcased a beautiful interplay of flavors, combining acidity, sweetness, saltiness, and umami. For anyone who wants to experience fine Franconian cuisine, I recommend this visit to Fränk'ness. To our surprise, they kindly offered us a complimentary dessert today. Completely satisfied.

We had a great lunch here! The food was high quality and truly delicious. The dessert, in particular, was truly amazing! The waitress (Tanya) also did a great job—friendly, fast, and on the ball 👍🏽

This wasn't our first time here. The food was very good, except for the chicken, which was a bit dry. My four-course meal with char, beetroot, roast lamb, and goat cheese, as well as the dry-aged pork and beef, was impeccable and flavorful. For the price, I would have expected at least one or two side dishes. These could be ordered additionally for €6.00. Unfortunately, the service today wasn't up to par. Despite the friendly approach, the price of the food lacked appropriate customer service. The food was served without even looking at the guests, and no one asked if everything was okay. After paying, we left the restaurant alone. It's a shame, as we've had a great experience so far.

We eat at fränk'ness every now and then, and it's always been very good. The open kitchen is an experience, the food is high quality, and the service is very friendly and fast.

Just when you think you've seen it all, this restaurant comes along. We had the pleasure of ordering a shrimp salad. The first round? Absolutely unforgettable: The shrimp were so salty you could easily use them to salt the streets in winter. But hey, maybe the kitchen just wanted to show that they're also at the forefront of "preservation." We then complained politely and—how generous—received a new salad. And lo and behold: This time the shrimp were raw! Probably an artistic attempt at combining sushi and salad. Visionary. The wait was equally impressive. Enough time to do my tax return, write a book, and question the meaning of life. And when the salad finally arrived: it wasn't cut. Just half a lettuce, halved once, in the bowl. Rustic, like grandma's garden. And all of this for a mere €16. A real bargain for raw shrimp, salt with leaf salad, and a wait that would make even the authorities jealous. Conclusion: For anyone who loves adventure on the plate and enjoys playing with their health – an absolute recommendation! For everyone else: Go somewhere else.

This restaurant used to be quite good, but it's become a complete joke. Absurd prices for tiny dishes; even the sauces cost an extra €5 to €10. Even at low occupancy, you wait a very long time for your food. The service staff are extremely overwhelmed. Sometimes times are shown as fully booked, even though practically all the tables remain free for hours afterward. Extremely disappointing! We'll definitely never be back.

The food was excellent, but unfortunately the service was poor. Of particular note was the fact that empty glasses were simply covered, no requests for new drinks were made, and no opportunity to order was even offered. Instead, the customer was repeatedly on their cell phone. Inquiries about orders sometimes went unanswered. When a chair broke and the person injured themselves in the subsequent fall, there wasn't even an initial inquiry to see if they were okay. Apart from an ice pack upon request, there was no support or compensation offered. The behavior in this context was absolutely unacceptable. Despite the excellent food, I won't be coming back. What a shame!

We just wanted a drink because the place looked so nice. We were yelled at at the door, "OUTSIDE!" When we asked to look at the wines, they rolled their eyes. 🙄 Since no one came after ten minutes of sitting outside, we unfortunately couldn't get anything to drink or eat (a shame).

The burger was delicious, and the open kitchen was a great spectacle. Service was very polite and courteous. You do have to be a little patient when ordering, but everything was within reason. The prices are on the high side, but the food is of very high quality. The truffle mayo is tasty, but in my opinion, it somewhat overpowers the rest of the flavor.

We ate at Fränkness for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Our waitress, Tanja, served us with great care. Her colleague, Hue, also had a commendable "all-round view" and immediately noticed that we had another drink request. All in all, we found it very relaxing and pleasant and would happily recommend it.
