Five Guys Hamburgers & Fries in Freiburg im Breisgau

Nice Fries aber sonst nichts außergewöhnliches. Die Pommes sind lecker, schön knusprig und schmecken frisch (d.h. frisches Bratöl). Bei der Sommer-Variante gibt’s allerdings wässrige Tomaten und darüber eine Balsamico-Creme. Da ich kein Knoblauch vertrage, habe ich extra gefragt, ob die Sweet-Chilli Sauce (ebenfalls auf den Pommes) ohne Knoblauch ist. Dies wurde bejaht, allerdings hatte ich nach dem Verzehr Magenprobleme. Schade, immer wieder solche Negativ-Erfahrungen machen zu müssen. .

Went to a Five Guys for the first time and ordered milkshakes. Didn't know that you could add several ingredients and were told when ordering, super nice! Ordered another one straight away. Would love to come back.

Sunday evening, not much going on, uncomfortable atmosphere. Ordered online. Waited at the counter for 9 minutes until an employee finally appeared and asked. However, he could hardly speak German and it took several attempts to understand that I ordered using the app and found my name. The blatant thing: the bag was sitting on a shelf the whole time. Freshness and warmth gone. 13 € for a cheeseburger like this is a lot. The small fries now cost a far too expensive €6 and I saved myself. If you want an “honest” typical American burger without a lot of chic and only fresh ingredients, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, the bun falls apart quickly and so it's always a soggy affair. There are better burgers with better value for money.

Ordered a medium portion of fries “to go”. The portion was too large for the DRINK cup that was used as a chip bowl. The rest of the portion was loose in the paper bag. With a cup as a chip bowl, it is simply impossible to actually eat the chips on the go. It is also absolutely impractical to put mayo and ketchup on it. The opening of the beverage cup is far too small for this - simply impractical and not well thought out. In addition, most of the fries were cut far too short. They also weren't convincing in terms of taste. For 7.50 it's actually a disgrace. Conclusion: Once and never again!

We ordered 5 milkshakes. Ordering took a while for them to understand what we wanted. Milkshake machine had issues after the first 2 shakes. Took a while to produce the remaining 3. My shake was warm and I threw it away.

Unfortunately, so far the worst quality from a FiveGuys I know... The burgers are still good but the buns tasted doughy and the fries are always salty at FiveGuys but here it was too much. It's a real shame when you know other branches that can do it much better. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired as all the tables were very sticky.

Was there for the first time today. The burgers were ok but you have to say way too expensive, I expect better quality and especially quantity at such a price, since the burgers are very, very small. The fries weren't cooked through at all and weren't crispy but limp and were just thrown into the bag. I don't understand why there are no service trays?! The MezzoMix I drank also seemed stale, with hardly any carbonation in it. I didn't see any cleaning crew wiping the tables either. So I don't think another visit will be worth it.

The food is extremely good and the service is super friendly. But what the hell is the damn bad steam vent? This is an unreasonable expectation even for the employees.

Been there twice, really disappointed twice with a burger for over €10. It's a mess that the burgers are wrapped in aluminum foil and therefore become soggy very quickly. The first time I took the burger home, after unpacking it from the aluminum case you couldn't tell it was a burger anymore. He was completely awake and just falling apart. Disgusting. The second time I took it straight out of the aluminum foil (at Hans im Glück) but the roll was already soggy. Leave out the stupid aluminum foil, there are environmentally friendly alternatives (see Hans im Glück, Burger King, McDonalds) that let the burger breathe and don't get muddy

The burgers are delicious because they are made to order. The drinks are free refill, but the initial container is already 50 cl. The portions of fresh fries are generous. In short, you will have understood, it is better to have the "little hamburger" and the small portion of fries if you have a small appetite. The prices are a little higher than in competing fast food restaurants, but the difference in quality and quantity more than justifies it. Too bad there are no trays. We have to make do with the paper bag or eat right at the table.

We were curious because the store had been recommended to us - and we were disappointed. As soon as you entered the store, you noticed the poor acoustics. It was almost impossible to have a conversation because of the noise. Then came the burger: it lay in the aluminum foil like a tossed salad, so eating it with your fingers was an unpleasant experience. The taste was ok, but nothing more. The guests in front of us must have had a similar experience because the table was dirty and sticky. Conclusion: It was an experience that we don't need to experience again... I bought a hamburger and fries today. I ordered it to take away. Unfortunately, the food was not tasty and did not meet expectations.

Food was good, price was ok. We need to work on the cleanliness in the restaurant, outdoor area and especially in the toilets! All you can say is hire a cleaning fairy!

My visit on Monday evening was highly enjoyable. The combination of juicy and flavorful cheeseburgers with perfectly melted cheese, spicy french fries together with peanut butter milkshake for my wife made it a perfect dining experience. The Bangladeshi shift leader was a standout, I forgot to ask his name, his coordination between the crew and customers was impressive. He managed the busy environment with ease, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that customers were satisfied. Surprisingly, he was also moving around the dining area to check the beverage machine and tables were clean or not. Obviously, we will visit again soon.

The milkshakes cost about as much as McDonald's but were 20x better (I recommend peanut butter, salted caramel and Oreo). But the burgers were very good and the meat was also of good quality. We were there to try it out, well I did that and now I know that the shop, the last on the list, is Freiburg Burger Restaurants. The completely tiled room could seem sterile, but this is counteracted by randomly distributing potato sacks or peanut boxes stacked on pallets throughout the restaurant. The walls are completely paneled with homemade top references, but you won't find a price list. The only one is hanging above the cash register. The prices for individual burgers are the usual prices for complete menus in other stores. But there are no menus here. You put everything together yourself and are then surprised by the price, because they would be too cheeky even for the "Royals" or the "Goldbogens"... We chose the one of the five free tables that was just shiny with grease and had little crumbs on it, the others were really shabby (greasy, crumbly, leftover food and packaging and various puddles). With a maximum, medium number of visitors. There were two customers in front of us (1×coffee+ice cream, 1×burger+drink), we waited for 25 minutes... (and had fun because they were probably trying to show us that it just takes time to get the potatoes from the field pick up...). That was amusing because otherwise we were really angry by now. Well, the burger joint isn't exactly a high-flyer. You can also go to Burger King or McDonnalds. The burgers here are expensive and not necessarily great quality either. The positive thing is that you can leave the drinks out yourself. You can also make your own mayo and ketchup. Otherwise... once and never again.

It was our first time at a Five Guys Burger Restaurant. This is because we also stopped in Freiburg on our city tour. The super nice team noticed this and really explained everything to us about how the burgers actually work. We took the cheeseburger and then chose the toppings. We then shared the burger between the two of us and it was easily enough for an afternoon tasting. Of course it takes a little longer to prepare, but I get a really fresh burger every time and that's worth it to me. I was also given fries by the store manager with the words: “Try these and you’ll never want anything else.” “ And that's exactly how it is: the fries are made in-house. The potato sacks that were delivered are also left in the restaurant as decoration. Just awesome . When it comes to the ambience, of course you have to know that it is based on America, yes, cozy is something different, but it is and remains simply a fast food restaurant. Of course the prices here are significantly higher than at McDonald's, but I really get something special compared to the Kistewirt! Burger good, atmosphere uncomfortable.

First time at Five Guys. I ordered 3 burgers 2x bacon cheeseburger 1x cheeseburger 1x large fries 3 soft drinks. The fries were still quite okay, soft drinks from the selection machine with free refills. OK. Now to the burger: Burger buns limp and cold, almost frozen, the melted cheese is solid and cold, the meat, although picked up directly and observed during preparation - lukewarm and not good. By the way, with ALL 3 burgers. And almost 60€ for that 👎🏻 I didn't even complain. The “ambience” Greasy, smokey steam throughout the restaurant. Pooh. That was the first and last time for Five Guys. Never again!

Too bad I can't put negative values! They prepared for me what Americans call "plastic food". The anonymous place with dirty bathrooms when I went to wash my hands. An experience that I will certainly not repeat.

Update: 05/03/3024 This detailed feedback alone deserves an additional star. I also accept the argument about style and give 1 ⭐️ more for the ambience. The furnishings seem very sterile and not comfortable to me. It tastes a lot like grill and deep fryer in the store. The prices are rather high compared to the nearby Hans im Glück and there is no service. You can do it. I wasn't thrilled 🤷‍♂️

Bad food and too expensive, never again.

I have tried Five Guys burgers in many countries like USA, Kuwait, Qatar, Germany, Spain and so on. However, there is not a consistency in the preparation of burgers in Freiburg branch. Burgers and fries do not always taste the same or taste lke in other branches. There is another problem related with Freiburg branch. That is ventilation. Unimaginable amount of burger and fries smell is in the store and can not be got rid of. I hope they could solve the problems and I can enjoy Five Guys burger and fries also in Freiburg.

We ordered a burger and a sandwich. Unfortunately we received the wrong order. The fries were missing salt and everything else was so compressed that it didn't look that appetizing.

The burgers, fries and milkshakes are really delicious. Staff is always friendly. You can have burgers in salad instead of buns. You can freely choose the extra ingredients (mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, sauces, etc.). The menu is very short, but what more could you want than a very tasty burger :-D

I was first time in Barcelona to Five guys, was just amazing. Now I thought it would be the same. unfortunately I can't even appreciate the bun. the meat of the burger was rubbery, the bun cold, the potatoes are nowhere near the ones I knew from the Five Guys in Barcelona. we were 3 people, all 3 exactly the same terrible burgers! not to mention that the mushrooms in it didn't look fresh at all! I don't know how people still eat from them, I don't recommend it in any way!

I never thought I would miss MacDonalds Big Mac until I had a cheeseburger here. The soggy bun and leather sole pattie, just edible. But the employees are nice. I won't eat here anymore. Either McDonald's or something decent where the quality corresponds to my money.

The peanut idea is great too. But the price is very intense. 8.95 euros for a small hot dog .8.95 euros for a large portion of fries. We tried it once but that was it.

Food is good but what concerns me the neatness at this place. They need to keep it tidy. For my first visit time I had to skip this place as it was stinking. maybe the sacks of potatoes could be the reason for the bad odour. They need to address this issue with high priority. More than food, it's the ambience which attracts a new crowd.

Mit Bedingungen war kommunizieren etwas schwieriger, aber nicht störend. Burger war nicht ganz warm, Käse nicht geschmolzen , aber sehr lecker.

Burger langweilig, trocken und definitiv überteuert. Kollege an der Kasse konnte leider keine Informationen zu den Produkten geben. Das Ambiente ist kalt, uneinladend und man riecht danach als hätte man in einer Fritteuse gebadet. Spart euch das Geld und geht besser woanders hin.
