The interior with an open fish counter is attractively designed, but we didn't feel comfortable in the restaurant. The tables are placed very close together (there's no space!!) and it was really loud. The food was heavily salted. The service was good. Wouldn't go there again.

The fish house is actually known for being a kind of tourist trap. You don't see that many people from Düsseldorf here. But after some positive online comments that there is now new management and the quality has (supposedly) improved etc., I took the plunge today. Unfortunately I have to say that I was very disappointed. Had ANGLE DEVIL MEDALLIONS GRILLED VEGETABLES, TOMATO HERB SAUCE, FRAGRANCED RICE for 32.50 euros. The dish was super salty with a tomato sauce that was too strong and eggplant slices that weren't cooked through. No trace of “fragrant rice”. Very carelessly prepared, more like in a snack bar. I'm happy to pay a little more, but if the price-performance ratio doesn't match, that's a no-go. There was a gas wine with the fish, the glass didn't look very clean. So overall: I would never go there again and would advise against it to anyone. Too bad...

To be honest, the fish here, especially his signature dish (in the classic menu) called Dusseldorf-style fish, may not be suitable for Chinese people's taste, which is on the lighter side, and the slightly sour sauce will highlight the fishy smell. The ambience is very reminiscent of France – stylish and charming. The selection of fish dishes is really appealing and varied. However, our dishes were prepared quite greasy, which took away from the enjoyment. The vegetables could have been cooked a little longer. It was also oversalted in places and a greater variety of vegetables would have been desirable. If you specifically order vegetables, they should be served without additional potatoes. Another point of criticism was the sauce: the hollandaise on the salmon was unfortunately not a good choice, the taste was not very convincing and it did not match the dish. The house wine was surprisingly good and accompanied the meal pleasantly. The service was friendly, attentive and professional, a clear plus. Overall, a solid experience with room for improvement, especially when it comes to preparing and putting together the dishes.

Even as Düsseldorf residents, we like going to Fischhaus. But my last visit was a disaster. We were seated at a table, and then nothing happened for a long time. After repeatedly asking if we could order an aperitif, the responsible server arrived after about 20 minutes (he stood at the front the whole time, talking loudly to his colleagues), and we were able to order one. The food and wine were then served. The appetizers were good. For the main course, we ordered a risotto with half a lobster (€47.50). The lobster was so dry and tough that it was inedible. But there were three shrimp on the plate. We didn't see a server again. After the meal, the dishes sat on the table for half an hour, and no one felt responsible for clearing them away. With a lot of luck, I was able to tell a waiter I wanted the bill, which arrived very quickly. I'll be giving the Fischhaus a wide berth for the time being. I had a bill for €280. They should treat guests better.

We ate inside in the bistro area. I can only report positive things. I ate my wife's Finkenwerder plaice herring tip. My wine from the Loire was well chilled and tasted excellent. There was probably a change of ownership in 2024. Go back to the fish house at any time.

An absolute disaster in the Fischhaus Düsseldorf (0 stars) I'm still stunned. Our visit to the Fischhaus Düsseldorf was such a disastrous experience that I'm simply at a loss for words. I find it difficult to understand how this restaurant attracts customers at all - unless the visitors have lost all sense of taste and quality. Even the start with the oysters was an imposition. The oysters we ordered were clearly not fresh. However, when we pointed this out to the staff, we were rejected in an arrogant and didactic manner: “That’s right” and “completely okay”. They seriously tried to make us believe we were wrong - but the signs of bad oysters were more than obvious. Only after asking another waiter did we receive two new oysters. But the bitter aftertaste from the previous handling of our legitimate complaint remained. The main course then crowned this fiasco. My sole was inedible - so salty it was almost impossible to eat. The rice that was served as a side dish tasted of absolutely nothing. It gave the impression that it had only been rinsed half-heartedly and then cooked completely carelessly. The spinach? Bitter like bile. Even my friend's food was so tasteless that it literally left you speechless. It really makes you wonder what's going on in that kitchen. How can you screw up so many components of a dish so colossally? The crowning impudence, however, was the service staff. After we politely pointed out that our food was inedible, the waiter showed no trace of interest or compassion. His indifference was downright outrageous. No apology, no offer to somehow salvage the situation - just ignorance. Amazingly, the only bright spot in this tragedy was a busboy who actually apologized to us. He even offered to bring me a new dish from the kitchen. But honestly: who wants to eat a second time from a kitchen that failed so badly the first time? I politely declined. We just wanted to leave, get out of this store and get the smelly food out of our noses. When paying, we informed the waiter again that our food was absolutely inedible. But even then he remained silent. No response, no attempt to make amends. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. You didn't feel like a guest, but like a nuisance that you just wanted to deal with quickly. We ended up eating somewhere else right after paying. Yes, we actually needed a second dinner in one evening - I guess that says it all about the experience. For a restaurant that sees itself as an upscale address for fish dishes, this is an indictment. The worst thing is: I really don't understand who eats here and how people can dine here happily. The guests must either be completely lost in taste or simply not know what good food means. How else can you explain that this restaurant even still exists? I can only strongly advise everyone not to spend a single cent here. For us one thing is certain: once and never again!

Walking through one of the streets of Düsseldorf we found this restaurant that caught our attention because there were quite a few people and we could see the type of fish. Very complete restaurant in terms of quality of food, service and a very good atmosphere. To say that there is a lot of Spanish, which made the experience better. Wie schade : mein Skrei Winterkabeljau ( den wollte ich mir für € 33 gönnen ) hat nach Maggi geschmeckt, die Spaghetti Vongole meiner Freundin ebenfalls. Tatsächlich kann man diese Qualität im Schnellimbiss „ Nordsee „ besser bekommen. Meine Crema Catalana war von einer fluffigen Milchcreme Welten entfernt und glich eher einem Griespudding, der irgendwann am Vortag mal schnell „überbacken“ wurde. Die Zuckerkruste war auf jeden Fall kühlschrankkalt. Die Enttäuschung über unser gesamtes Essen ist echt riesig. Der einzige Lichtblick war unsere sehr nette und fürsorgliche Kellnerin.

Got the seafood platter. Everything, including the crab and lobster, was served cold. The crab wasn't cleaned at all, and was served with its guts still attached. The lobster tasted like it had been cooked days ago and pickled since, chewy and very salty.

Nach diversen Besuchen in den letzten Jahren waren wir heute enttäuscht. Die Bouillabaisse bestand aus lauwarmer Tomatenbrühe mit ungefähr 3 hineingeschossenen Stückchen Fisch. Das Ganze für 12,50 Euro. Das Fischaus wird uns so schnell nicht wiedersehen. Schade!

# Very disappointing visit After a long time, I was very excited to visit this restaurant again to enjoy the delicious food. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving the restaurant very disappointed. One thing is certain: this was my last visit. The service was never particularly good, but now it's just chaotic. Half of the drinks were only brought after repeated requests. When we ordered a “cold and warm” appetizer platter, the warm portion was served quickly, while the cold one took a long time to arrive. The presentation was very bland. Although we were obviously still busy with the starters, the service staff repeatedly asked whether they could clear up. After about 10 minutes a head waiter appeared and cleared the plates with an admittedly charming comment. When the main course was served to us cold, I understood the previous attempts to clear it away. The kitchen's time management was obviously not coordinated with the service staff. When we were almost finished eating, we were finally served the specially ordered cucumber salad... It's just a shame, it used to be a really good spot. Apparently success doesn't always lead to a good offer in the long term

For over 30 years, I and my wife have been spending our day getting to know each other in Düsseldorf shopping, followed by dinner at the Fischhaus. That came to an end this year because I was extremely disappointed with the food at the Fischhaus. The seafood variation has been halved in size and doubled in price over the years. The crab was inedible. The waiter then poked around in his body and then said that there must be something edible to be found. The half sea bass that followed was grilled dry and the baked potato that went with it wasn't even served. After paying 87 euros for nothing, I am now writing my first - and hopefully last - review at the tender age of 70

Spoiled fish for 29 euros and complete indifference from the staff Unfortunately a big disappointment. We love fish dishes and often visit fish restaurants in Nice and Paris. Since we are often in Düsseldorf for work, we used to go to this restaurant regularly. It reminded us of some places in France with its ambience. The cuisine wasn't at Michelin level, but it was solid, and the pleasant atmosphere and the champagne selection always impressed us. Our bills were often 150 euros or more, including good champagne and generous tips. But this time everything was different. Recently we have noticed that the quality of the restaurant continues to decline. The portions became smaller, the dishes less tasty, and the service became increasingly inattentive. Nevertheless, we wanted to give the restaurant another chance - a mistake, as it turned out. We were there for the last time a few days ago and it was a disaster. We were served a fish whose head smelled unpleasant - a clear sign that it was not fresh. We know fish well and recognize things like this straight away. We didn't touch the fish and pointed out to the waitress that the sea bream was spoiled and asked for the bill. An apology? None. The waitress just nodded and disappeared. Another waiter then brought the bill, which we then paid immediately. To our surprise, the spoiled sea bream was still listed on the bill. We assumed it had been quietly removed since no one had apologized. I asked the waiter about it and he seemed surprised. He explained that the previous waitress hadn't told him about the spoiled sea bream and offered us - brace yourself - a coffee on the house. I declined and we headed towards the exit. There the manager asked us if everything was okay. I described the situation to him and his reaction? He also offered us a coffee. No apology, no solution, just another sign of the entire team's lack of communication and professionalism. Our conclusion: The quality of the food has deteriorated significantly, the service is inattentive, and no one seems to be taking responsibility. If you complain, you'll be offered a coffee - that's it. Luckily there are many other restaurants on the same street. We went straight to a neighboring restaurant, spent 150 euros, tipped generously and saved our evening. However, we will never visit this restaurant again. It's a shame, things were much better here two years ago.

Portions are getting smaller and prices are rising. The fish soup is now served in the coffee cup. At Euro 7.50 per coffee cup, this corresponds to a price increase of around 50% compared to the previous terrine portion. A pasta dish without Parmesan doesn't work! To charge an extra 1.50 euros for the missing parmesan that was complained about is incomprehensible.

Neuer Betreiber! Neue Karte! Toll. Essen ist innovativ und qualitativ hochwertig. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Der Service hat leider nicht überzeugt. Stets höflich das möchte ich sagen, aber es fehlt an Erfahrung und der Ablauf ist hektisch und chaotisch. Vorspeise wird serviert. Dazu direkt der Salat vom Hauptgericht. Sprachkenntnisse lassen zu wünschen übrig. Dann Abräumen der Vorspeise und Kellner nimmt das gebrauchte Besteck und legt es dem Gast auf den Tisch. Hier war der Punkt wo ich sage dass das nicht geht! Ich erwarte zu jedem Gang das passende und frisches Besteck. Das Servieren der Getränke war fragwürdig. Das Glas Wein wird oben am Rand angefasst und irgendwo auf den Tisch gestellt. Das geht so nicht. Einfache Regeln sollten eingehalten werden. Das Restaurant ist laut aber das macht es aus. Wir reden über eine Fischhalle. Charme ist da. Aber der Service muss verbessert werden. Qualitativ gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Das frische Brot mit Dipp ist top. Noch eine Anregung: Beilagen sollten ohne Aufpreis austauschbar sein. Wir reden über Pommes statt Kartoffeln. Das war nicht möglich und nur mit Aufpreis machbar. Etwas mehr Flexibilität wäre wünschenswert. .

Es una trampa turística. Los pescados no son frescos. Sobre un lugar lleno de gente y maloliente. No fueron honestos con mi pago. Cuando he pagado mi tarjeta de crédito dijeron que no estaba aprobada. Así que he pagado de nuevo con otra tarjeta que estaba bien. Al día siguiente me he dado cuenta de que me han cobrado por ambas tarjetas. Fui allí y me han dicho que no pasó por la primera vez y que estará bien en un par de días. No estaba satisfecho y hablé con el gerente por teléfono. Ella (Hanna) me dijo que debía proporcionar recibo y todo para que ella iba a cargar de nuevo a mi tarjeta de crédito. No pasó nada 2 días. Por suerte nos alojamos aquí, así que fui de nuevo el día pasado y les dije que no pasó nada. Me han dicho que tenga paciencia otra vez, lo cual no acepté. Cuando les dije que iba a la policía a quejarse, entraron en pánico y me devolvieron 113, 90 € en efectivo. Hay restaurantes mucho mejores y honestos alrededor.

It was a tourist trap. Fishes were not fresh. Servis was ok until payment. They said credit card was not approved so I paid with another card. The next day I checked banks and noticed double paid. I went to restaurant they said they were going to charge back. I waited another day and nothing happened. I had to go again. They try to convince me that they were going to do it but it was my last night in Dusseldorf. I did not accept but they said they were sorry and nothing they could do. I just told them I was going to visit police station right away. They were panicked and paid my 113,90 €. So be careful. You can find much better and honest restaurants.

Uitgebreide kaart, veel keuze Vis ligt uitgestald als je binnen komt in het restaurant. Rumoerig restaurant, tafels heel dicht op elkaar om zo veel mogelijk volk te kunnen zetten. Prijs-kwaliteit wel top. We hebben mosselen op thaise wijze gegeten en die waren heel lekker! Vriendelijke bediening ondanks de enorme drukte!

I think it's like being crammed together in a cage. People don't know what to do with their jackets. The distance to the neighboring table is a little less than 15 cm on the right and left. You haven't taken off your jacket yet when the waiter is already standing next to you with the menu. We are handled more than served. It's a shame actually. A wheelchair user or someone who has a walker should not even try. You wait a long time for the food. Even the escape route is blocked by strollers.

Out of curiosity we went to FISHHAUS to eat there last Thursday evening. But that quickly turned out to be a deception. The dishes were anything but tasty. Turbot fried, but the flavor was missing, probably little to no spices used and over-fried. My girlfriend had a cod, to be very honest same story. Little to no flavor! The dishes included potato slices that came straight from a heated container, soggy tasteless and anything but crispy fried potatoes. As I think they should be... but tastes differ! We also got a cabbage salad. No taste to be found either, nasty and limp, as if it had been prepared days in advance and had been in the refrigerator. I recommend you eat here if you have no taste and don't know what real well-prepared fish should taste like! Advice for fishhaus: back to the drawing board and remove the outdated fish dishes from the menu and add flavor! In addition, the fish in the Ice display looked anything but fresh!

Pure disappointment - tourist mainstream - canteen food We often go to the old town and have been walking past the actually inviting fish house for years. Always well attended, we now wanted to know. As absolute fish fans, we were excited. The narrow distribution of tables and the noise are a bit intimidating - like in a large fish hall. Well, at least you can quickly start a (loud) conversation with your neighbor. But then personal or very private conversations at the table are left out - Big Brother is watching you! The first impression of the card was promising, but still mass instead of class? We were excited. My wife and I wanted to really hit it off. Starter: 1. the lobster soup with half a lobster tail €27.90 - Very thick sauce, path and only a smoky aftertaste - Half a lobster tail in shredded pieces (leftover pieces?) 0 stars - Complained - no reaction. 2. Bouillabais soup €10.90 - a bit better - but still not a highlight - 2.5 stars Main course: 1. Mixed noble fish grill platter €26.50 - looks good - vegetable side dish and fish neutral in taste in a negative sense - thought... I can do that better. - 2.5 stars Additional sauce: mustard sauce prepackaged - same thick sauce as the lobster soup. 0 stars 2. Trout Mandelb. 18.90 € - although ordered as a whole and asked again, it was served as a fillet - same as above, appearance ok - just the feeling of mass-produced goods - served without love. 2 stars Conclusion: €105.20 total bill with drinks. If everything would taste better and there were no ready-made products / mass preparation / Katinen flair / more love in the preparation - a good price performance - But for us a bitter disappointment - Even after we were asked about our satisfaction and we communicated our disappointment - helplessness from the staff . So it's a richer experience, with the knowledge on the next walk through the old town that we should no longer take the fish house into account and feel sorry for all the tourists who come here - if only we hadn't given in to our curiosity.

I ordered whole sole and mashed potatoes with it, the fish had no taste and was soaked in vegetable oil, the mashed potatoes were too salty. At a price of 45€!! you should be able to expect proper preparation and quality! Unfortunately that wasn't the case at this restaurant. In my opinion, if you want to eat good fish, you're in the wrong place here.

I am a fish lover but I was totally disappointed by the beautiful restaurant. The trout I was in was completely dipped in oil. I only tasted oil. I would prefer it if it were fried in butter or grilled on the grill. It was also unsalted and unfortunately tasteless. Fish with a side dish was 15€ on the menu but you had to order the side dish separately. Like salad and fries. They don't offer rice. And I don't think the price performance is optimal at all. My companion had the anchovy pan, one side was crispy and the other side was very raw and not tasty either. It's a real shame that we paid a price of over €30 because we didn't want to see the side dish that they were supposed to offer with it. Therefore only 1 star. We were also the only customers there but had to go to reception because of salt and lemon.

I would like to share my experience with this restaurant, highlighting both positive and less positive points. We arrived at a busy time, so all tables were occupied. Luckily we were able to take a seat on the terrace at the back, which offered a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. However, it took quite a while for the staff to notice us and help us, which somewhat diminished our first impression. Once we were helped, the Argentinian employee in particular stood out. He was incredibly friendly, polite and helpful, which was certainly appreciated. He did his utmost to make us happy and definitely deserves a compliment. As for the food, experiences were mixed. I ordered grilled mackerel, but to my disappointment it was undercooked. The inside was still raw and therefore I was unfortunately not able to eat the entire dish. My friend opted for the macaroni with tuna, but this dish was also very disappointing. It was of such quality that he even left it alone, which is a shame. The coffee, on the other hand, was delicious! It was just right and provided a nice ending to our visit. In addition, the atmosphere on the terrace is definitely a plus. It is a place where you like to sit and enjoy the surroundings. If I would recommend the restaurant, it would mainly be for a cup of coffee on the terrace. For an extensive meal, unfortunately I cannot recommend it based on our experience. Hopefully the dishes will be improved in the future, because the potential and hospitality are certainly there.

One of the places we frequent whenever we are in DUS, thanks to a friend who's able to make reservations for us every time we are there. The Lobster Bisque is a must and they've kept the standard. The grilled calamari was a little overdone, too chewy. The mussels is a crowd fav but was so-so only for me. Fish was fresh and here you get to try some local river trout, nicely grilled, though a little salty. Their homemade bread is also one of the highlights.

On a rainy day in Düsseldorf's old town, I visited the fish house and enjoyed fresh North Sea sole with fried potatoes. The fish was tender, perfectly cooked and went wonderfully with the side dish. Es war an der Zeit, unbedingt das FISCHHAUS aufzusuchen, das seit Anfang dieses Jahres unter neuer Leitung steht. Wir hatten die Gelegenheit, mit Pablo Fernandez Garcia, einem der beiden neuen Betreiber, über das Konzept von Tradition und Moderne zu sprechen. Es ist immer noch ein bodenständiges und sehr beliebtes Restaurant, in dem man sich nur wohl fühlen kann. Das Essen war absolut köstlich. Hier wird der Liebhaber von gut zubereiteten Meeresfrüchten und Fisch auf jeden Fall fündig. Ob "Baby Calamares vom Grill", "Austern Rockefeller", "Muscheltopf Fischhaus", "Muscheln Thai Art" oder "Scholle Finkenwerder Art" – wir haben alles sehr genossen. Und der Service war auch sehr professionell und äußerst freundlich, hier besonders Lukas und Ainhoa. Die Preise sind gehoben, dies speziell heute auf dem Sektor Fisch und Seafood, aber die Qualität stimmt. Wir hatten im "neuen" FISCHHAUS eine gute Zeit in netter Atmosphäre, und es war wirklich "ein leckeres Erlebnis". Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder!

Quite crowded and chaotic place in the centre. Waiting times slightly longer than average but it's worth it because the fish is delicious! I recommend the Fishhous soup as a starter, typical and really good. Courteous waiters even if very busy and always in a hurry. Homely environment.

Cold fries and inedible. New deluxe burger absolutely poor quality and taste. You can say that they prepared the wrong order for me and they had to correct it quickly, which is why the burger was definitely so bad. Never go back. I'd rather go to Fritten Werk next door. They are 200 times better than here.

The "fried fish in a roll" was an oversized fish stick with a thin roll from yesterday, and it wasn't even warmed up. The fried fish is better at every fair.
