Fisch Domke-Domkes Fischpavillon in Heringsdorf

Unfortunately, the beautiful ambience and the service don't go together. From - "we don't have it today" (pepper mackerel) to "we don't have it with sauce". I wish I had an alternative recommendation instead. Didn't come. I was there with the children, who needed a little more time to decide given the large selection. It's a shame - they are the future. All in all, more appearance than reality.

The fried cod in egg shell (for €26) tasted delicious. The ambience is also quite appealing. But the prices seemed quite high for a classic self-service restaurant.

Just don't talk to the colleague with the short blonde hair and glasses. I tried politely twice and got an unfriendly, stroppy answer both times. Fish rolls are standard and nothing special. For the price I expect more. The ambience is the best thing about the restaurant. Overall not recommended.

Very tasty food. Great selection. Price-performance is right. Ambience is very good. Card payment possible. Ready-made meals and fresh fish are available to take away. The toilets could be a bit more modern and cleaner. The service could also be a little friendlier.

The food was good and sufficient. The ambience seems great at first glance, but somehow something is missing in the store (maybe some music?). It's self-service, which isn't a bad thing. However, the saleswoman repeatedly failed to attract attention with her incredible motivation and friendliness. It's a real shame if you're not even greeted or said goodbye when you shout "goodbye" to her.

If you don't know this yet, you've missed a lot. The atmosphere is unique, the offering is very extensive and fresh. The boss has many records and a knack for fish. It can hardly be fresher and more excellently prepared.

Doesn't meet expectations as advertised!

Stopped in for lunch on January 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Ordering was quick, but we waited about half an hour before we could pick up our food. The fish soup and fish platter were ordered. Fish soup was good but too salty, as were the three types of fish! What bothered us the most were the boiled potatoes on the fish platter!!! Industrial potatoes and with a very gray appearance and with no taste at all! Terrible! The restaurant was still quite full, so we didn't complain at the counter. There would also have been language problems. Summary: It's not as great as it seems! Pay more attention to quality!!!

Great food, when I'm in Heringsdorf, a visit to Domke is a fixed appointment.

Extremely unfriendly lady at the checkout, the order was presented to us in a friendly manner, she responded to two questions about side dishes and sauce in an absolutely rude and monosyllabic manner, but there was no correct answer. Waiting time extremely long. Kitchen was well staffed and open to view. The chef yawned up to his stomach, the staff didn't change a word during our almost 20 minute wait, only the well-known lady at the checkout with the distinctive glasses shouted at the team, who took care of drinks, counters and tables. The food was okay, but you had to look for the dill sauce for the zander with the boiled potatoes. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first bad experience at Domke and is not recommended. Also applies to Domke in Bansin. It really annoys us that we were friendly and relaxed, but both the boss present and the lady mentioned were real blocks of ice that you could cut your teeth on.

I had fish soup for lunch. The soup tasted very good, although the price for a self-service restaurant is quite high. The service wasn't exactly friendly. A little more attention should be paid to cleanliness, there are stains from drinks, plates and crumbs on the tables. The trays on which you have to put the empty dishes were quite dirty. There were flower pots with ornamental peppers on the tables outside, which were no longer visible and have probably been there since the summer of 24. Just horrible. We go to Heringsdorf very often, but the service there is becoming increasingly poor. It's a shame actually.

The pickled fried herring with salad for 16 euros was a lot of salad and little herring. It was still delicious. The lady who took our order was rude. Should work better in the kitchen than with customers.

Very well prepared fish! However, staff should pay attention and proactively point out that pets are not placed on the seats. The following guest with a possible animal hair allergy would certainly be pleased.

The food was fresh and good; However, too expensive for the dishes on offer

We have been coming here for several years, but this was the last time! Exceptionally bad food, fish soup just watery and without taste. The smoked fish was extremely salty. The usual quality has declined over the last few years, but now it is no longer there at all. The many "records" posted cannot hide the loss of quality. It's a shame, it used to be a good fish restaurant.

We have rarely experienced such unmotivated and unfriendly service staff! And the fish was small, fried very greasy and the salad was dry, probably not fresh and prepared in an unpleasant way, so unfortunately we couldn't finish the dish because of this. The fish boulette was very tasty. The saleswoman is very reserved.

The portions of tagliatelle with prawns and spaghetti with prawns were okay in size. The only thing I have to say is that the service was a bit unfriendly and annoyed that we didn't make a decision straight away. The prices of the dishes were reasonable, €14 each for a shrimp dish is very reasonable. All in all it was a good visit, but could be improved.

Disappointed 😞...no comparison to 2018!!!!! When we visited the Fischhaus Domke in Heringsdorf for the first time in 2018, we were thrilled by the quality and the good, friendly service. But in 2024 the picture will be completely different. The staff at the counter were totally unmotivated and very unfriendly. Rather than externally controlled, it reminded me of a voice computer. Corrosive. Even when things get stressful, you should show your back and give the customers who put down a lot of money a good feeling. It's good that there are other fish restaurants. Here you can get good fish in a nice atmosphere. We had Labskaus. Yes, you can also get good Labskaus outside of Hamburg. The next day we got cod from the fresh fish counter. And here too we were not disappointed. We were also able to try the world's largest fish solyanka, very tasty. Please don't be put off by self-service, it works.

Today we were disappointed. The mustard sauce for the pike perch fillet was not a sauce, pure mustard and was probably not seasoned. Zander fillet had a lot of bones. Staff today was not what we are used to. It's a shame, we drove specially from Bansin to Heringsdorf

Very little friendliness from the service staff. The fish sommelier should take the herring roll in Kamminke in the fish smokehouse as an example...the herring roll here is only worth 2 stars. Overall disappointing...more appearance than reality.

Very large, historically significant building, fast self-service check-in, excellent fish dishes from a renowned chef run as a family dynasty, in the heart of Heringsdorf, would go again at any time.

We were here years ago and it was really great. Unfortunately, at the beginning of October, things weren't so good. Too few side dishes on the plate, the food was too breaded and the potatoes were not cooked through with fried potatoes. In addition, it was really expensive for a simple meal. Too bad

I ordered a fried fish with fries. Cost: 14 euros. Every home-fried frozen fish from Igl... tastes better. Lots of breading and underneath a small dead fried pile of fish. An absolute no go for the price.

We have been here several times in the past few years and have always eaten quite well. Unfortunately not today. We had 4 different meals, none of which impressed us this time. Too bad! The fried potatoes were pretty bad. You urgently need to do something about the quality here.

Not good quality. The fish was frozen, breaded and the potato salad had way too much vinegar. Fresh fish tastes different. The service hardly spoke German. Not for us again.

Such a great fish restaurant.. it's self service and you get a "beeper". The side dish and sauces/dips can be freely combined. There is also fish to buy. We sat outside in the sun, even though it was a little chilly. The employee brought us everything we needed straight away and was super accommodating. Inside, the decoration and the whole fish hall also look really great. So recommendation!

Very well eaten, cod with potato salad

An absolute must for every Usedom holidaymaker. Eating fish in Dohmkes. Only the room is worth 5 stars. Food and drinks are ordered at the checkout and then picked up at the counter. We ordered fried fish with fries and herring with potato salad. Plus a hearty dark beer (Fish has to swim). The fish was tasty and the side dishes were standard. The restaurant in Heringsdorf is the nicest, but there is also a Fisch Dohmke in Bansin and Ahlbeck.

Expensive, terrible service, food okay

We were there 2 days in a row. One time very friendly staff and the other day it was like that. The fish, on the other hand, is beyond any doubt. Large portions and very tasty. It's pretty quick and the place is nicely decorated. So if you could optimize that with the staff...

There is a large selection of fish dishes and it is freshly prepared. We'd love to come back, it was delicious.

Apparently the local German staff are overwhelmed here, there is no please or thank you. Harsh announcements to customers and this use of silence is simply impossible. You might think they are forced to work, if I don't enjoy the job then I should look for something else. Only the foreign staff were nice and friendly towards the customer. We were very disappointed. Our food was carelessly prepared and tasted average. The herb as a side dish looked like a finished product and was not very seasoned. Our fish was dry and bland. We would have more for the money in a restaurant. Card payment at such prices would be appropriate, we have seen many people leave because this was not possible. For us there is no second time and we will not recommend it.

Very good fish dishes, they are quick, tasty and there are generous portions on the plate. You can also buy fresh fish or smoked fish. In terms of price, I think it's a bit high for self-service, but otherwise the food price is right and it's not cheaper anywhere else given the amount of fish you get with the dishes. I think it's nice that you can choose whether you want boiled potatoes or fried potatoes or fries or... It's the same with the sauce, there's mustard sauce or dill sauce or... It doesn't look particularly inviting or comfortable, but that's not how it's advertised. It's clean. You can certainly come with several people, the restaurant room is large enough.

The food is quite good. The staff, on the other hand, was unfriendly and did not speak German. If you don't feel like working, it's better to stay at home. But something like that doesn't work at all in service in a holiday region.

Discovered by chance (and luckily!!) today - and tried it out straight away. Great atmosphere, self-service doesn't bother you at all because everything is extremely organized and well-rehearsed. Very nice service and really great tasty food. Large portions, the price is absolutely justified and not overpriced. A large selection of fish, fresh from the ice on the display into the pan, it couldn't be better. We'll definitely be back!

The atmosphere is really unique and cozy. Our food was delicious and highly recommended. There was also a vegetable side dish on the children's plate. Really great! Unfortunately, the staff was tense and seemed a bit annoyed. Things didn't seem to be entirely hormonal between each other either.

Nice place. The fried fish was tasty, the salads were okay, a little different dressing and the potato salad had too much bacon in it for us. Nicely prepared. Self-service. Drinks good. Our purchases were great and everything was priced great. Since the tables are given away quickly when the weather is good, the staff can't keep up with cleaning the tables.

Excellent food, beautiful surroundings. Suitable for children and dogs. If you want to taste fish specialties in the authentic environment of a spa town. you are in the right place!

Not recommended, although it has a nice atmosphere but the listless staff doesn't fit. Displays are cleaned with strong-smelling sprays, and no one is interested in the fish dishes underneath.

Self-service. Service/cash register not exactly friendly. Two in-house beers Pils/Weizen - both without foam, same taste!!! “yellow broth” is a nonsense. Fish was okay, side dish below the norm. I can only recommend the fries.

As the name suggests, fish in different variations👌🏻. The dishes were absolutely delicious and very filling. Total recommendation is the Fischsoljanke with lots of fish in it🤩 although it is self-service but everything is perfectly organized. Unfortunately no 5⭐️ because card payment is not possible. I would expect that given the size and circulation of the restaurant.

Great restaurants with excellent fish dishes. Always freshly prepared and good portions. The holiday apartments are also lovingly furnished and always clean.

Unfortunately it has diminished significantly. A pity.

The herring fish roll was the tastiest I've eaten so far. The roll was freshly baked and freshly topped with lettuce, onions and herring. Simply delicious. The ambience was very appropriate and appealing.

There are professionals at work here. The food is top notch, you can't complain at all. However, you should tone down your self-promotion a bit: “Schmusedom”??? Really now? Who came up with that? I was already embarrassed. Plus two TVs that are playing soundlessly trivial things like "Till Schweiger is chatting with the boss" (you can be glad that the loudspeaker is silent) or people who no one knows in front of the biggest fish soup, brawn or the biggest tuna? For what reason? In my opinion it is dispensable, you don't need it. And why have your own beer? It would be more honest to use the well-known varieties from MV or something from our Polish neighbors. All this nonsense only distracts from Domke's actual core competence. The fish pavilion doesn't need any of that: Domke can impress with fish, but no one needs the aforementioned or "Domke-branded" stools. What is missing, however, is a cashless payment option. Why doesn't this work - after Corona? It's not 1991 anymore. Everything else, for example the one with the penetrating TV, was also from today.

Great restaurant in a quiet side street in the center of Heringsdorf. We sat sometimes outside, sometimes inside, both very pleasant. Very large selection of delicious fish dishes, there is something for everyone. We ate at Domke several times during our holiday week and were thrilled every time. The fish solyanka was spicy and very rich, just as tasty as the light fish soup with a subtle note of dill. The large/thick, fried cod fillet with - in my case - fish potatoes (a great, creamy mashed potato) was to die for. Likewise the juicy fried Baltic herrings with perfect fried potatoes. Likewise the fried eel. Fish sandwiches were fresh and generously topped. Domke is definitely recommended for fish lovers. You get a lot for your money. And we will come back ;-)

Food was very good due to inflation, slightly above market prices. Points will be deducted for failure to pay by card. Unfortunately, in the age of digitalization, it is no longer up-to-date.

FOOD GOOD, SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE We ordered two fish soups and they were perfect. Afterwards we wanted to order the main course and drinks (self-service with ordering at the counter inside). But that didn't happen because of the three women, only one seemed to be authorized to take orders. Authorized, yes, but not motivated - customers who wish to order are ignored. Even for a drink you would have to wait in line for several minutes just to be “allowed” to order it. We then decided not to attempt any further orders and moved on.
