Fisch Domke- Domke Am Meer in Heringsdorf

Today I had a fried fish and remoulade roll. It was my first time eating it. Overall, it wasn't my cup of tea, but the presentation and the freshness and quality of the ingredients were a plus. The people I was with also ate at the nearby competitor's, and they said it was tastier. The service was very friendly, there weren't many people there, and the decor was acceptable. For me, it was a quick meal, not a place to sit and spend time.

Zero hygiene, everything too salty: soup, dishes, fish. But a portion costs €26 – too expensive. Not recommended.

A rainy day... and we were almost alone at Fisch Domke. We had a very good meal, sat comfortably, and looked out at the promenade. The menu is extensive, and the food was freshly prepared. The fish is beautifully presented at the counter. Takeout was also available. Since our table was in a booth, we didn't notice any of the traffic at the counter.

Smoked fish was way too salty...it was new to me that smoked fish was salted. The service behind the cash register was very friendly and prompt.

This time I was disappointed with the food. The potatoes were hard inside, the herring was prepared differently than usual, and it was swimming in fat.

Potentially hazardous to health! We bought cod and salt cod. After ordering, the seller disappeared into the next room and fetched a cooler bag full of ice. What was initially (mis)interpreted as a very customer-friendly gesture turned out to be the only way to prepare the spoiled cod for transport at home. Upon unpacking, we were extremely surprised by the stench; the fish left the subjective impression that it hadn't been edible for some time. Fish worth €20 consequently ended up in the trash. In our opinion, we cannot recommend visiting a fishmonger who sells spoiled fish. Due to the potential health risks, we would like to give the fish no star, but unfortunately, this is not permitted.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. He did serve freshly made fish sandwiches, but they were disappointing. The fried fish was a greasy lump with hardly any fish, and the rolls were simply overpriced, even with pre-baked rolls.

The fish sandwiches are simply a disgrace. It started with having to take the sandwich out through a small crack in the window. There wasn't even a lettuce leaf on the sandwich itself. Open the sandwich, put the fish in, and put three onion rings. It couldn't be more careless. Very disappointing and a waste of money.

Fisch Domke in Ahlbeck is highly recommended for its food, service, and ambiance. I was very disappointed with the quality of the fish sandwiches at Fisch Domke in Bansin. The quality of the fish sandwiches was inedible, with oil running out of the sandwiches. The restroom was disgusting.

The food is a disgrace!! Currywurst and fries for 12 euros are okay!! But the fact that the currywurst comes from a jar and tastes bad, and the fries were reheated, is a disgrace.

If you love fish, you've come to the right place

The restaurant itself looks pretty bleak! But outside, with the view of the Baltic Sea, it's naturally gorgeous.

Fresh, quick preparation, very tasty. If you want to treat yourself to a good meal on holiday, this is the right place. We would love to come back 👍

Ordered a fried fish sandwich there today. Not tasty, the fish was fried to death. If you can even call it fish. The fried fish consisted mostly of breadcrumbs, and what little fish there was, unfortunately, wasn't tasty either. It was the last time for us.

I used to love going to Domke. Today: Sea bream for €26, oversalted and otherwise flavorless. Fish burger: The meatballs were indescribably awful, tasteless. They should take a leaf out of other restaurants' book, where fish meatballs are simply delicious. Unfortunately, you won't see us again, even if the beer was delicious.

Self-service restaurant with friendly staff behind the counter. Hence 4 stars for service. Very wide selection of dishes (fish, meat, pasta, fish sandwiches, etc.). Good location right on the promenade, yet very reasonable prices. We had spaghetti with seafood and tagliatelle with salmon, as well as cucumber salad and a small mixed salad (also available to go). We enjoyed it very much. Everything was generously portioned. We've been to numerous other restaurants in the area, which often offered significantly lower quality at much higher prices. Only the ambiance and general appearance lead us to deduct one star from the overall rating. Therefore, we recommend going there and eating delicious food. 😋

We ate at two different restaurants. At the first, we ordered fried fish and shrimp noodles. The fried fish was okay—the noodles had a flavorless sauce. It can happen sometimes. At the second restaurant, we ordered currywurst with salmon and cream noodles, curry shrimp noodles, and salmon cream noodles. The salmon sauce was equally tasteless, the currywurst tasted like it came from a can, and the final dish was the curry shrimp dish, which was completely overseasoned and inedible. It was as if the chef had just used the entire packet of spices. My recommendation: order just the fried fish and don't expect too much.

We had to wait over 10 minutes for two fish sandwiches. They weren't even the ones we ordered. There was no one else in the store. Unfortunately, due to the language barrier, it's impossible to discuss the issues further.

I had the fish solyanka and couldn't eat it. It didn't taste good at all. My companion had currywurst with fries. The fries were okay, but currywurst was not necessary.

Stopped here today and had fried fish and chips. It's a self-service restaurant, so it can only give one point for service. The food was OK, but nothing more. Unfortunately, there's nothing good to report about the restrooms either; there's only one unisex restroom for the restaurant and hotel guests.

Very friendly service. We had tagliatelle with salmon (a portion was enough for both of us 👍🏼) and fried shrimp. It tasted delicious and was freshly prepared.

We waited over 20 minutes for two herring sandwiches. During this time, other customers complained about the long wait. The staff got into an argument in front of the customers, which then escalated into the next room. The staff was clearly overwhelmed; one woman sat bored in the corner. Unfortunately, the fish sandwiches didn't taste particularly good either. Considering the restaurant's reputation, that's rather poor.

The food is okay and prepared quickly. Unfortunately, the fried fish and fried potatoes were very greasy. The fish in the Bismarck roll was dry and very sparsely topped. It's self-service. The ambiance isn't great; the tables could use a wipe down. The prices are okay, but at least you're sitting on the terrace right on the promenade with a view of the Baltic Sea.

We had lunch here. After ordering (there was a huge selection), we were given the small device and waited on our terrace seats until the device signaled that we could pick up the food. It was prepared relatively quickly, presented appetizingly, and very tasty. It was my first time eating fish aspic, and there was a lot of fish in it, but the fried potatoes were also well-seared and seasoned. Afterwards, we read the restaurant's history at the blackboard outside...very interesting. Fisch-Domke is highly recommended if you don't generally mind self-service restaurants.

Fisch Domke is a must if you are staying on Usedom.

Today, June 21, 2025, That was the worst currywurst with fries ever! We wanted to enjoy a non-fish meal, the cult currywurst. But what was served was, in my opinion, Curryking Life, abysmally bad! The fish dishes may be better, but we won't try them again! Domke is off-limits for us. You'd better remove the currywurst from your menu!!! We also remember the laughter when we ordered.

The food was OK, but unfortunately, it took an extremely long time. The starter and main course were ready at the same time. We probably won't eat here again.

Unfortunately, after several seasons, yesterday was the last time we visited this place. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill.

The smallest Bismarck rolls of our lives, and also the most expensive. Two mini rolls and two wheat beers for 20 euros. You can do it once, but you don't have to (anymore). Vacation or not. Simply disappointing. We're certainly not stingy or cheap on vacation. But at some point, it has to stop. And the restaurant industry is complaining and wondering? Tomorrow we'll try the pork knuckle with sauerkraut around the corner for a mere 23 euros, or maybe not...

We ordered fish and chips and each received seven tiny pieces of fish, covered in a thick coating of breadcrumbs. Along with fries, a small bowl of tartar sauce, and ketchup and mayo from packets. They charge €16 per portion! Where we come from, that's called "rip-off"!

We had a lovely meal at Domke today. It tasted really good. We had the tagliatelle with salmon, which I highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

I can recommend it, but it depends on the chef. Don't order as soon as it opens, as the stove needs to heat up first. Visit the outdoor terrace until 1 p.m., where the sun shines.

Lots of salt on the not-so-fresh fried herring and fries. Currywurst in gravy, fried potatoes old and greasy. Only the fish soup was good. We were very disappointed. The two friendly Vietnamese should perhaps cook Vietnamese food instead. They're certainly great at it. Now we'll probably hear, "Oh, typical discrimination again." No, it's the absolute truth. With the famous name Domke, we would have expected better.

Mr. Domke advertises his culinary journey with a large sign in front of the restaurant. I was really looking forward to fresh fried fish and had a frozen surfboard on my plate for €16, which you can get in any supermarket. If I had known this beforehand, I could have gone to Gosch. There is one star because you can finally pay by card here, which is not possible at all other stalls. However, €9 for a Schillerlocke fish roll and the fish was definitely not ok, it tasted and smelled extremely acrid of ammonia like a layered Rougette oven cheese. When we complained, our language skills suddenly deteriorated and of course there was no refund, the only thing offered was a new roll - no thanks.

That was much better. I ate labskaus. Unfortunately the warm part of the food was totally over salted. Door remained open, something very fresh to sit on.

We were here once 2 years ago and loved it. Ordered fish and chips today, fries, zero browning, zero taste and 6 small pieces of breaded fish. There's 16€, just not appropriate? I like spending money on food, but this really wasn't appropriate. It's a shame that it has faded so much.

Oh, oh, we haven't eaten so badly in a long time. The crowning glory were the fried potatoes. Raw and probably fried. They were very hot but hard and raw. Never waste money again.

I cannot recommend this self-service fish restaurant from Domke in Bansin. Completely unfriendly staff at the counter, fried potatoes almost raw inside, plates carelessly prepared but high prices. The Domke store in Ahlbeck is completely different, much better positioned!

We've had a super delicious 😋 salmon matjes fish roll for the last 2 days. There was also plum mulled wine and sea buckthorn punch. The bun was fresh, warm and crunchy. The surface also left nothing to be desired. Lots of fish 🐟, fresh salad and lots of onions. There is no comparison with the sticky, carelessly topped fish sandwiches from a large neighboring chain.

Huge selection of fish whether smoked or fresh or fried to eat! The portions of the dish were very generous and well prepared! It's an open kitchen and you can easily see everything. Very fresh and perfectly prepared!

I don't know what to say. There's so much advertising everywhere, but the food is underwhelming. There are only the painted dishes on the boards, no ingredient lists, it's difficult to ask when the service staff can barely speak German, but they were friendly. One fish had more bones than was edible, the sauces for the fish & chips were not advertised, I would have liked to have had a choice of other sauces that I could also eat. The fried potatoes were underseasoned and quite hard. One fish wasn't seasoned, but the sauce that came with it was oversalted. The red cabbage was dry. The fish fillets in all other dishes were good, as were the fries. The fish solyanka, which my husband had been looking forward to all year, was good, but he personally missed the sour cream that is always served with solyanka.

This was the worst fish sandwich I have ever eaten. The bread bun was old, a lettuce leaf and the herring was also old and curled. The toilet for men and women at the same time, not lockable. With such a beautiful location, they probably don't need it. Too bad.

We just ate currywurst with fries. The sausage was cold and inedible. Had a disgusting consistency. That had absolutely nothing to do with a currywurst. And that for 12€. Never again. It was probably a vegetarian sausage that we didn't order.

First of all, this restaurant used to be really good - but as is often the case, the quality suffers as a result of expansion. Starting with salespeople who react boredly and impatiently to the guest's decision for a menu, to the exorbitant prices for below-average quality/quantity. This is bad management, just ripping off tourists and will backfire in the long run.

The store in Bansin is the third Domke that I have visited so far. The fresh and smoked fish is always great and delicious at home after preparation. Unfortunately, communication with the staff at the counter is sometimes quite difficult.

We dedicate the one star, which you have to give at least, to the advertising of the fish sommelier Domke. Unfortunately we fell for this and ate fish at Domke Am Meer on the beach promenade in Bansin. Despite self-service, which we actually have no problem with, the staff at the counter were unfriendly and you didn't feel particularly welcome. The tables outside on the beach promenade were not all clean. We then sat down at the third table, but here too the table was slightly sticky and the chairs weren't really inviting either. But the worst was yet to come: the food. I ordered grilled eel with fried potatoes and was completely disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high for dining with a fish sommelier. But the website advertises more with celebrities than with really good fish. In any case, the eel was rubbery and already cold, the fried potatoes had more fat cubes of bacon than potato slices and the dollop of lettuce, well... We think that charging 27 euros for that is an outrage. Other reviews confirm that I'm not the only one who was unlucky here. We can only advise against a visit to the “guardian of the fish tradition” (that’s what it says on the homepage). So it wasn't an “all-round enjoyable experience” (that's what it says on the homepage).

So, there is a world of difference between the preparation and taste of the food and what the website suggests. That's not possible, and we Went there several times to test.

The atmosphere is very rustic and cool. I wouldn't like to spend long, relaxing evenings here. The food is really good. The staff could speak better German, but you can still communicate. As a tradition, we will continue to eat at Domkes once during our vacation. But maybe in another branch.

Long wait, very unusually long.

Salmon carpaccio watery, the rocket has a wilted consistency that I would never buy at a discount store.

Pictures say more than 1000 words. The 4 miserably lost “shrimps” on the cocktail sauce-soaked baked roll say it all. The half-wilted lettuce leaf doesn't help either. Bought 3 rolls of it on hand. Were €8 each. I would have preferred to spend the money on a fake Boss shirt on the Polish market.

Eaten so-called kibbeling. No delicacies from the Fischsommerlier. Convenience food is probably more appropriate. Pre-made, thickly breaded something and inedible garlic sauce at an exorbitant price. Unfortunately I didn't get the food and not for the first time. I will steer clear of Domkes in the future.
