Fisch Domke- Domke Am Meer in Heringsdorf

Mr. Domke advertises his culinary journey with a large sign in front of the restaurant. I was really looking forward to fresh fried fish and had a frozen surfboard on my plate for €16, which you can get in any supermarket. If I had known this beforehand, I could have gone to Gosch. Very disappointing

No hello, no goodbye, thank you or please. 10€ for two small fish rolls and one of them was prepared incorrectly. Outdoor area unkempt and dirty.

There is one star because you can finally pay by card here, which is not possible at all other stalls. However, €9 for a Schillerlocke fish roll and the fish was definitely not ok, it tasted and smelled extremely acrid of ammonia like a layered Rougette oven cheese. When we complained, our language skills suddenly deteriorated and of course there was no refund, the only thing offered was a new roll - no thanks.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as Fisch Domke in Heringsdorf. The quality of the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the restrooms all fall short. Too bad, we'll just go back to Heringsdorf.

That was much better. I ate labskaus. Unfortunately the warm part of the food was totally over salted. Door remained open, something very fresh to sit on.

We were here once 2 years ago and loved it. Ordered fish and chips today, fries, zero browning, zero taste and 6 small pieces of breaded fish. There's 16€, just not appropriate? I like spending money on food, but this really wasn't appropriate. It's a shame that it has faded so much.

I cannot recommend this self-service fish restaurant from Domke in Bansin. Completely unfriendly staff at the counter, fried potatoes almost raw inside, plates carelessly prepared but high prices. The Domke store in Ahlbeck is completely different, much better positioned!

Oh, oh, we haven't eaten so badly in a long time. The crowning glory were the fried potatoes. Raw and probably fried. They were very hot but hard and raw. Never waste money again.

We've had a super delicious 😋 salmon matjes fish roll for the last 2 days. There was also plum mulled wine and sea buckthorn punch. The bun was fresh, warm and crunchy. The surface also left nothing to be desired. Lots of fish 🐟, fresh salad and lots of onions. There is no comparison with the sticky, carelessly topped fish sandwiches from a large neighboring chain.

Huge selection of fish whether smoked or fresh or fried to eat! The portions of the dish were very generous and well prepared! It's an open kitchen and you can easily see everything. Very fresh and perfectly prepared!

I don't know what to say. There's so much advertising everywhere, but the food is underwhelming. There are only the painted dishes on the boards, no ingredient lists, it's difficult to ask when the service staff can barely speak German, but they were friendly. One fish had more bones than was edible, the sauces for the fish & chips were not advertised, I would have liked to have had a choice of other sauces that I could also eat. The fried potatoes were underseasoned and quite hard. One fish wasn't seasoned, but the sauce that came with it was oversalted. The red cabbage was dry. The fish fillets in all other dishes were good, as were the fries. The fish solyanka, which my husband had been looking forward to all year, was good, but he personally missed the sour cream that is always served with solyanka.

This was the worst fish sandwich I have ever eaten. The bread bun was old, a lettuce leaf and the herring was also old and curled. The toilet for men and women at the same time, not lockable. With such a beautiful location, they probably don't need it. Too bad.

We just ate currywurst with fries. The sausage was cold and inedible. Had a disgusting consistency. That had absolutely nothing to do with a currywurst. And that for 12€. Never again. It was probably a vegetarian sausage that we didn't order.

First of all, this restaurant used to be really good - but as is often the case, the quality suffers as a result of expansion. Starting with salespeople who react boredly and impatiently to the guest's decision for a menu, to the exorbitant prices for below-average quality/quantity. This is bad management, just ripping off tourists and will backfire in the long run.

The store in Bansin is the third Domke that I have visited so far. The fresh and smoked fish is always great and delicious at home after preparation. Unfortunately, communication with the staff at the counter is sometimes quite difficult.

We dedicate the one star, which you have to give at least, to the advertising of the fish sommelier Domke. Unfortunately we fell for this and ate fish at Domke Am Meer on the beach promenade in Bansin. Despite self-service, which we actually have no problem with, the staff at the counter were unfriendly and you didn't feel particularly welcome. The tables outside on the beach promenade were not all clean. We then sat down at the third table, but here too the table was slightly sticky and the chairs weren't really inviting either. But the worst was yet to come: the food. I ordered grilled eel with fried potatoes and was completely disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high for dining with a fish sommelier. But the website advertises more with celebrities than with really good fish. In any case, the eel was rubbery and already cold, the fried potatoes had more fat cubes of bacon than potato slices and the dollop of lettuce, well... We think that charging 27 euros for that is an outrage. Other reviews confirm that I'm not the only one who was unlucky here. We can only advise against a visit to the “guardian of the fish tradition” (that’s what it says on the homepage). So it wasn't an “all-round enjoyable experience” (that's what it says on the homepage).

So, there is a world of difference between the preparation and taste of the food and what the website suggests. That's not possible, and we Went there several times to test.

The atmosphere is very rustic and cool. I wouldn't like to spend long, relaxing evenings here. The food is really good. The staff could speak better German, but you can still communicate. As a tradition, we will continue to eat at Domkes once during our vacation. But maybe in another branch.

Long wait, very unusually long.

Salmon carpaccio watery, the rocket has a wilted consistency that I would never buy at a discount store.

Pictures say more than 1000 words. The 4 miserably lost “shrimps” on the cocktail sauce-soaked baked roll say it all. The half-wilted lettuce leaf doesn't help either. Bought 3 rolls of it on hand. Were €8 each. I would have preferred to spend the money on a fake Boss shirt on the Polish market.

Eaten so-called kibbeling. No delicacies from the Fischsommerlier. Convenience food is probably more appropriate. Pre-made, thickly breaded something and inedible garlic sauce at an exorbitant price. Unfortunately I didn't get the food and not for the first time. I will steer clear of Domkes in the future.

Solid fish snack, nothing more and nothing less. There is also a nice outdoor area directly on the harbor promenade. We had fish & chips and fried fish. You can do it.

The ambience is quite nice, but the service is unfortunately a bit Nordic-cool. Food is okay and price performance is still acceptable. Recommended for a snack.

We just bought four, supposedly fresh fish sandwiches here. All four rolls differed in age, consistency and texture. From ancient, tough, old and even re-baked, everything was there. The Bismarck tastes bland and dry, topped with old and wrinkled lettuce. Probably the worst roll of my life and I've had plenty of it. It's a shame, the location and name are making a lot of money for a very bad offer. Since we ordered take away and ate on the go, we didn't have the chance to complain personally.

We stopped by Domke today full of anticipation for a fish sandwich. However, the service was so bad and unfriendly that we left the restaurant immediately. We got our money's worth elsewhere.

The shop doesn't even deserve a star. Staff is very unfriendly. Fried fish is not fresh and dried out. The breading is much too thick, the cucumber salad is a terrible mayonnaise and vinegar mixture. The ambience is zero. NOT RECOMMENDED

Yes, you can stop there. There were Bismark rolls. Preparation was quick. The staff is very friendly. But the atmosphere is rather cool and objective. Something could be changed about that. The outdoor dish storage box should also be emptied more often. That just attracts seagulls and sparrows.

We've been in Usedom every year for 10 years and used to go to Domke often, but it's almost unbelievable how the quality has deteriorated. The tagliatelle with salmon is actually just frying fat, nothing else, the sauce only tastes like frying fat, unfortunately there is no trace of good taste. And the overpriced garlic shrimp? There is no trace of garlic, instead in a gravy and cooked onions on the plate. The highlight was the “sweet and sour sauce”, which was brown oil broth with some kind of meat pieces in it and tasted like gravy, as expected. When asked if that was the sauce, no one could speak German because the entire staff could only Polish understood… unfortunately the tables weren't clean either. It's a shame about the restaurant, it used to be great.

There were 6 of us here for dinner and half were satisfied, the other half were not. Unfortunately the fries were too salty, you could see so much salt that it seemed like more salt than fries. With the fish & chips, some of the fish was no longer available (fried away?). And the dish is too expensive. The cream sauce for the salmon gave those who ate it a bit of a grumbling stomach the next day. The fish was otherwise delicious. Nobody could complain about that. What’s still missing: card payment. Actually, it's a normal thing these days, in some countries there is hardly any payment with cash anymore and at Domke we are apparently still living in the past and there is no card payment. This should have been introduced during the pandemic period at the latest. (There is at least an ATM in front of the restaurant). In the past, a visit to Domke was a must at least twice during our holiday week. This time I was disappointed. Maybe next year it will be better again.

Unfriendly staff who didn't forward our order to the kitchen. After an eternity of waiting, fish arrived with lots of bacon and salmon carpaccio on a rotten salad. Everything inside looks dingy and the toilets don't work at all. Definitely not a recommendation.

An annoyed hello as a greeting, a chef who eats his guests' fries out of the bowl himself, throws the leftovers back into the deep fryer and then serves them to the next guests is an absolute no-go! Fish and chips were frozen, when we wanted to eat, we noticed that the fish nuggets were still frozen inside and half raw. When I complained about this, the chef shook his head, but the lady at the checkout had them I took it back and said, next time we can let it thaw in the sun..... But my Bismarck roll was delicious.

Big name that promises a lot and “by the sea” is rather hot air. Very unfriendly, unmotivated and seemingly annoyed staff. Apart from the obvious impotence when it comes to the German language and the flippant connotations when asked questions. Price-performance tends to be in the direction of price, especially for simple dishes, and the staff is probably not technically experienced. Good beer, advertises on the glass: “Enjoyment like in imperial times”, the ambience unfortunately has its good times behind it. Overall, unfortunately disappointing, especially when it comes to the friendliness and host mentality of the staff - and that with a minimum of service, through self-service and the use of radio call/guest pagers. I don't think it was that way at all in imperial times. Plus point: The beer was really good.

We ordered fish sandwiches today. After a short wait, the order was handed over to us. We assumed that the rolls were freshly prepared, but you could see that the sauce on the roll had already been absorbed and the roll no longer seemed so fresh. It was probably prepared and had been sitting for a while. It still tasted good, but there were differences in taste compared to others from the region, which were fresh.

Doesn't represent value for money at all. Greasy fried fish with greasy fries. Fish & chips cost an outrageous 13 euros. Not recommended Service staff completely unmotivated.

The worst fish sandwiches you can get in Bansin. Dry rolls, half a lettuce leaf, little fish and unfriendly service. Advertises with a lot of celebrities. Probably not suitable for the normal customer.

Friendly service and the food is of good quality. Price-wise a bit expensive. There are plenty of seats inside but it is relatively dark. You can sit outside directly on the promenade.

Unfortunately not recommended. The fish soup was burnt, which unfortunately I couldn't explain to the waitress because she didn't understand German very well. The cook in the background didn't understand me either because, among other things, he was busy looking for nose gold.

Dear Sir or Madam, I don't write a lot of reviews, but that's not my standard of service. We ate fish on Tuesday, our first fish of our vacation. From the time I entered to the day I left your store, I haven't experienced such unfriendly, unmotivated and ignorant staff behind the counter and in the kitchen for a long time. Every customer who came in was treated like a supplicant, and some left again. The fish was delicious. Finding good staff is difficult, but what you have has to match the price-performance ratio. We got 3x fried fish rolls for dinner, unfortunately the staff isn't exactly the friendliest. The fried fish itself was good but the rest of the roll was a laughing stock, just a poor leaf of lettuce and tartar sauce and that for €7. No thanks, there are better stands.

Price performance for the drinks is catastrophic. Coffee and beer was more water than anything else. Fish fingers with fries, on the other hand, were great. Service should work on friendliness.

After our arrival we were very happy to receive two fish sandwiches on hand. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Although the fish sandwiches were freshly prepared, unfortunately the fish no longer tasted as fresh as it should have. My husband's mackerel had bones throughout. Of course, bones are normal, but we had been to Rügen before and were so excited that we were very disappointed. Especially since we paid significantly more than in Rügen. Unfortunately, the fish rolls ended up in the trash. Hopefully that was just an exception! We can't rate the restaurant etc. because we took something with us. However, it can be said that the staff were curt but friendly.

Hello, we had dinner today. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food and had expected more. The shrimp starter was ok, only the tomatoes were cold. The fish was good and the side dishes were not good at all. The parsley had ended up wilted on the plate and the red and white cabbage salad looked very artificial. I won't go back there, which is a shame given the owner's name

Baked fish with fries €14, the baked fish roll €7. To go...not ok. The fish was dripping with fat, the breading was far too thick, the fries were pale and sober. The delicious remoulade from earlier was sour and didn't taste good at all. I could hardly eat the roll, baked so hard and dark. There was zero enjoyment. Very unfriendly lady at the counter. There was also a mini note saying NO CARD PAYMENT. Great, thanks for nothing. Not recommended today... what a shame.

Accommodation clean, food good, location ideal

We really enjoyed the fish there and highly recommend it. In principle it is a shop with a bistro which also offers restaurant-level food.

I ordered fish soup, terrible...you won't find fish in the soup. Service at the counter very unfriendly. Domke advertises with old videos, there were probably better times...nobody needs them. The store is not recommended.

Very unfriendly staff, they can't count the shrimp sometimes there are 10 on them sometimes 7 and sometimes 9 and they can't remember that you only ordered 1 beer instead of 3 as the waitress said. There is definitely much better food elsewhere. It's not worth coming here! A bratwurst with mustard would be better than the food here!!!

It's a shame, the fish snack bar could do more. Certainly, personnel is also a big problem on Usedom. But a greeting and a request should be part of basic training. And in a shop where I can also buy expensive souvenirs, EC card payments should be a given. The fact that many young guests also expect Google Pay etc. should actually be known to a company like Domke. A lot of sales are simply not taken into account here. The money could then also be used to train employees.

The food wasn't good - the potato salad for the fried fish dish was also gone, which was succinctly communicated. Instead, boiled potatoes with bland mustard sauce were served. An overwhelmed counter worker (and there were hardly any guests on site), a person in the kitchen. A careless interior, shabby furniture. The toilet is scary, as is the path to it. Mr. Domke doesn't seem to have this branch under control, unlike the others. Conclusion: never again Domke in Bansin.

We had a salmon plate with potatoes and one currywurst fries. Later, fish fingers with fries and spagetti with shrimps in cream sauce and a fish sandwich. The food was good except for the currywurst and the fish roll. The sauce and sausage weren't good at all. The sausage was indefinable and the sauce had a disgusting taste. The fish sandwich wasn't particularly tasty either. The rest was ok. The amount of cutlery on every table is also unhygienic. The toilet leaves a lot to be desired and hand soap should actually be standard. The saleswoman is visibly annoyed and could be friendlier.

The food was very good. I like the price/performance ratio. I thought the guest toilet was a bit outdated and could use some modernization. The view of the sea is also disturbed by the writing on the windows. The staff was very friendly and the selection of food was very extensive. If you like fish, Domke is definitely the right place.

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to the Fisch-Domke am Meer. The pikeperch fillet, presented on ice, was selectable, but even when fried to perfection, it completely lacked flavor and seasoning. Despite confirming that the fish was boneless, I found bones in it. The potato salad was an unusual version with bacon and had an exceptionally bad taste. The two coleslaws were far too cold and of the worst discounter quality, one of them was almost inedible. Furthermore, it was disappointing that card payment was not possible. The staff seemed listless and uninterested in the guests' concerns. The prices were very overpriced for a self-service restaurant. Overall, this was the worst meal I've had in a long time and unworthy of a fish sommelier's restaurant. As I noticed, a large part of it was also returned by other guests. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Fisch-Domke by the sea in Bansin.

We had tagliatelle with salmon. The noodles were tasteless. Salt didn't help either. When asked whether the fried potatoes had bacon, the answer was yes. We then decided on potato salad, which also had bacon. Here a hint would have been the crowning glory of the service.
