Excellent food at reasonable prices, friendly service. Highly recommended.

We went to Carl's Pub for dinner yesterday. Without a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and given a nice table. My wife and I had the parmesan-crusted cod fillet with homemade coleslaw, fried potatoes and pesto. The food was excellent, again a compliment to the kitchen! We were served very charmingly and felt very comfortable in the beautiful ambience. We really liked it, so we definitely recommend it! We'll be back.

All positive reviews are true. The food is excellent and the service is individual and friendly. I would love to eat there again, but then we would have to extend our vacation. Reserve in good time!

The five of us had an extremely fine evening with very good food. The service was courteous and very friendly. We had fish soup; herring bruschetta; pike perch fillet; cod fillet; salmon fillet; Tagliette with chanterelles and pork fillet; as well as a special compilation for our vegetarian; then two more chocolate cakes with vanilla ice cream. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, on the contrary - even the subtle background music was to our liking 😉 (Springsteen, Stones, CCR, Tom Petty...).

The food was really excellent! We tried the schnitzel and the ox cheeks, both of which were delicious. Unfortunately the service that evening left a lot to be desired. We were there at 8 p.m. and didn't order a starter, just the two main courses. However, these were not served until 9:05 p.m. The waitress didn't even visit us the entire evening and seemed to be deliberately avoiding our table. She asked the neighboring tables several times if everything was OK, but ignored us even though we waited over an hour for our food.

Super tasty, upscale cuisine. Nevertheless, the price is not necessarily higher than the other restaurants - but the quality is also good here!

Great fish restaurant with a very small menu, where everything is made fresh. There I probably had the best fish ever in the world and I travel a lot! The restaurant can only be visited by making a reservation in advance, otherwise you will never actually get a seat. People kept coming and were sent away because everything was full. If you are a fish lover, you should go here!

We were able to eat really delicious food without a reservation. The menu is small but everything is freshly cooked and you can taste it. The atmosphere itself is very cozy and you feel comfortable. The service and the food were very good. It's nice that something like this still exists today. We'd love to come by again.

Went for dinner as a group of four with a child. Be sure to reserve well in advance, otherwise it will be difficult. The food took a while, but was very good. The sauce on the ox cheeks was very strong, but went well with the dish. The fried pike perch was excellent. The service was very nice and considerate. The playground directly in front of the location is positive.

An insider tip in Ahlbeck - Heringsdorf, unfortunately always fully booked and only open 4 days a week. But it will be tried again in 2025!

We have been coming to Ahlbeck for many years and Carl's pub is a must. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly and attentive. We have never been disappointed and can only recommend the restaurant.

(2024) We were with Carl again this year for the fourth time. And this time we weren't disappointed either. As always, it tasted very good and the boss and boss were again nice and friendly and in a very good mood. It was fun again. This year I had the herring bruschetta, then the panfish and, for dessert, the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. My wife had, almost traditionally, the cheeks. We are already looking forward to next year. (2022) This year we managed to get a table at Carl's again. And our judgment from last year was completely confirmed. It was again very, very tasty. My wife had ox cheeks again and first of all the fish soup. I had ordered matjes bruschetta in advance and the Züssower Landschwein as the main course. And afterwards a delicious dessert. Everything was excellent again. See you next time. This is rock solid. (2021) - We've been meaning to do it for a long time and did it for the first time this year. And we have to say, it was totally worth it. Can only be recommended to everyone. Yes, the food here is a bit more expensive, but the taste completely justifies the prices. Delicious. You just have to say it like that. The best restaurant on site at fair prices. The owner intentionally uses regional ingredients. Everything is a little different here. Regional juices, wine or beer. No main stream Coca Cola or so. No wonder it's always fully booked. The key word here is class, not quantity. Everyone nice and friendly. Anyone who complains that they can't get a table here in the evening just to drink a beer, yes, I think that's intentional. Why should he allocate space for people who want his good food and block it for people who want to hold on to a beer. There are more than enough alternatives in town.

Funny that it's called a pub. But it is an excellent restaurant with excellent fish specialties and is beautifully and quietly located next to a great playground. Be sure to reserve as it is very popular and only open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A restaurant that we can fully recommend!! The food we ordered was exactly what we wanted!! The menu is not overloaded and the drinks match the dishes. The place is small with not too many seats, so reservations are essential!! Price/performance is also right!!

The guest is clearly not the first priority here. If you simply wanted mashed potatoes instead of fried potatoes and were told "that's not possible if you don't want fried potatoes then you just have to take another dish from the menu!" Or "we've been doing this for 30 years so you can't just change the dish" or because of an operation I wanted a different vegetable because cabbage isn't the best choice after a gallbladder operation) and with ... I look at my plate and then there are Brussels sprouts...as an alternative...like choosing between plague and cholera.... Very sad...it was my first mommy grandma trip since my daughter was born and we were extremely disappointed... Finally, the icing on the cake was that we were allowed to run out to collect cash because card payment was not possible. And there was nothing about it anywhere. Thank you, we won't be coming back.

What a shame that the owner no longer has any feeling for the wishes of his guests. As soon as you want a change to a dish, this is not possible, for example: I don't eat cheese and would like a different sauce - answer: then you have to cook it yourself at home. We used to enjoy being guests here, but are now choosing other, better restaurants in Ahlbeck.

It's a bit unusual when, in a restaurant that's open until 11 p.m., we are sent out shortly after 8 a.m. when we want something to eat with the short words "but not with us." Service and customer friendliness feels different. .

Der absolute Wahnsinn. Wir sind spontan vorbeigekommen und sind absolut begeistert! Die Fischsuppe war ausgezeichnet, eine der besten die ich jemals irgendwo essen durfte. Anschließend gab es den Tagesfang auf Wurzelgemüse und mein Vater hat ein Schnitzel verputzt... Beides war von der Qualität herausragend und auch die Portion war sehr angemessen. Dazu leckeren Wein oder ein Bier vom Fass. Ich kann nur jedem von euch empfehlen hier essen zu gehen! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen. Danke an den Koch und den netten Service! Hoffentlich bis ganz bald. Ich war jetzt das 2 x bei Euch und ich muss sagen im Februar war es ein Gaumenschmaus und nun im September das selbe. Das Essen ist sooooo lecker, echt der Wahnsinn, diesmal draußen gesessen und lecker gegessen, super leckeren Wein getrunken und super nett mit lockeren Sprüchen, immer einem Lächeln bedient wurden. Wir kommen wieder auch bei einer Entfernung von fast 500 km

Wir haben selten so exquisit gegessen. Kneipe ist echt untertrieben. Eher Nobel-Restaurant. Wir kommen gerne wieder👍🏻😋

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre auf der Terrasse. Eine kleine aber feine Speisekarte. Wir hatten Fischgerichte die sehr lecker waren. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Absolute Empfehlung, mega mega lecker

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Gerichte sind klassisch mit etwas Pfiff. Zubereitung und Zutaten sind über dem Standard. Es gab eine überraschende Vorspeisen (matjes-bruschetta = ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen), die Preise sind angemessen. Der Service war super. Die Stimmung ist sehr gut. Einzig für das Ambiente (die Tische stehen für meinen Geschmack etwas zu eng, wenn man einen 2-Personen-Tisch hat, es fehlt etwas an Gemütlichkeit) würde ich einen Stern abziehen. Alles in allem: wohl das beste Restaurant im Ort.

Absolut zu empfehlen. Gehobenes Essen von einer kleinen Karte, auf Wünsche wurde Rücksicht genommen. Freundlicher und zugewandter Service. Geschmacklich hervorragend.
