Great fresh fish. Delicious shrimp. I recommend the fish soup. A good place for lunch and dinner. Simply delicious.

We were really looking forward to the mussels and shrimp, but unfortunately they were cooked Asian-style, including spices, and weren't tasty. What a waste of money.

Sure, the fish was delicious. But... the service was beyond unfriendly, and the prices on the menu definitely don't match the prices at the restaurant. Please assume you'll have to pay at least €2 more per meal. Anyone who thinks this is a bad idea is a scoundrel. Sure, many restaurants are looking for qualified staff, but a little friendliness and customer service should at least be a basic requirement for staff working in one of the top restaurants. There's a lot of advertising, but unfortunately, you don't experience this.

0 ⭐️ Stars – Spoiled fish at Fisch Domke in Heringsdorf – absolutely unacceptable We ordered cod in an egg shell with fried potatoes for dinner to go and wanted to enjoy it at home in a relaxed atmosphere. At first, everything seemed unremarkable and the fish tasted okay – but that changed suddenly. When I reached the middle of the fillet, I was hit by a pungent ammonia smell. A clear sign of spoiled fish – inedible and a health risk. We immediately returned to the restaurant. Even the waitress could clearly smell the smell – but at least they refunded our money without hesitation. Nevertheless, the crucial question remains: How can spoiled fish even be sold in such a large and well-known chain as Fisch Domke? With a product like fish, freshness is not an option, but a given. Something like this simply cannot be allowed to happen. After this experience, our trust has unfortunately been completely lost.

We bought several varieties of smoked fish today. The smoked trout was rock hard, inedible. The halibut was okay, but nothing more. The slices of smoked salmon (not from Germany) were good. The waitress/server barely speaks German and seems to have no training at all. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

We bought "fresh Baltic cod" and thought we were on the safe side with Domke. The fish stank and was obviously not the freshest. However, it was very expensive. Even the waitress, with her nail extensions and glitter, vacuum-sealed it with a certain disgust on her face, so we didn't get to enjoy the smell until we got to our vacation apartment. Luckily, our stomachs were unharmed, half of it went in the trash, and we, as fish lovers, were disappointed and switched to bratwurst for the time being. 🤢

A very good fish restaurant. It's not a fancy restaurant, but it has tremendous flair and a long, good, and interesting history. There are several fish dishes, and guests can see and select the fish from a large refrigerated section. The preparation is quick and excellent. A vibrating alarm notifies you when your dish is ready. You pick it up at the counter, bring it to your chosen seat, and then the enjoyment begins. It simply tastes good. Cleanly prepared. Highly recommended.

From year to year, the quality of the food declines and the prices rise. A few days ago, a large group of us gave it a try: pure disappointment. Fillets were heavily boned, fish and chips were boring and didn't live up to the price tag. Even the fries and pasta with shrimp were poor quality. It's not the chef's fault—it's the quality of the ingredients used.

The open kitchen is very nice, and you can eat well on site. You get good fish at fair prices. The rustic decor and ambiance. We were very impressed by the food and the restaurant.

The food consists mostly of fish with various side dishes. It looks good on the plate and is plentiful. It costs approximately €20 to €22. You can also take it with you. Fish is also available as is or to take away.

Well, I went there today to eat. I ordered tagliatelle in salmon cream sauce. The food wasn't bad, a large portion with lots of salmon. But way too much garlic... I can get that at home. But I waited half an hour for the noodles beforehand. There are a lot of people working there, Asians, but no one seems to know what they're supposed to be doing. I didn't think €15 was exactly cheap.

We happened to be standing in front of Domke's Fischhus, and of course, a seaside holiday also includes the odd fish dish. We ordered a pretty good selection of the offerings, including fish solyanka, fish sandwiches, fish and chips, fried potatoes, and fish fingers. None of the dishes impressed us in terms of taste; there are much better options. The ambiance is also noticeably dated; you get the feeling the place is living off the many famous people who have stayed there and the glamour of the chef's TV appearances—you can watch them on repeat while you wait for your meal. The prices are also very self-conscious, but overall, the service is too expensive. It's a shame; given the setting, much more could have been done; I wouldn't recommend it.

So, for a self-service restaurant, I can only applaud it. A super delicious meal, and even though the place and beer garden were packed, we didn't even have to wait 15 minutes for the delicious food. Compliments.

How someone can call themselves a sommelier and simultaneously offer cafeteria food remains a mystery to me. It may have been the name for quality a few years ago, but that's simply not the case now. And it doesn't matter which of the many branches of this fast-food chain on Usedom you visit. At all the festivals, like the Kaisertage (now called Glanzzeiten) or the Ahlbeck Summer Festival, they have their carts offering food and drinks of poor quality and completely out of line with the prices. They're just making the best possible use of a little money. It's better to go to smaller shops that offer quality that you actually get for your money.

Unfortunately, unfortunately, no longer 5 stars like it was 2-3 years ago. Things have changed. Outside, dirty tables, at least 6 used napkins lying on the floor and on the dirty tables. The waitress walks past the dirt five times, not interested. Instead, the guests wipe the tables themselves. The food was lukewarm, and it used to be better. It's a shame; I used to look forward to it every year... not anymore.

A lot of advertising for nothing, everything's self-service. The Ahlbeck branch has the rudest lady at the cash register we've encountered in Ahlbeck. A still water for 6.20 without service is simply outrageous. The food is okay, but nothing special.

The beer garden was very dirty, the tables weren't wiped. Prices up, quality down. We enjoyed eating there on vacation. The dill sauce was a mess. The potatoes were half raw. The fish was completely tasteless. We won't eat there again. The waitress picked up the dirty brochure from the floor and put it back in the clean cutlery tray. Absolutely unacceptable.

Usedom/Ahlbeck is and will always be my home. I love the people I've grown fond of, their shops and identities, and a part of my history. I actually wanted to visit Domke again, like so many times before... For me, it was the last time. Everyone can feel that everything has gotten more expensive, no matter where you eat. A fish meatball in the display for €6.00 ​​each was fine. I ordered some fries with it, and suddenly the cash register showed €16.00, which didn't make sense to me as a customer. I communicated this to the staff, who referred me to the price list hanging above. No further communication was possible (I couldn't tell whether it was due to a lack of knowledge or the language barrier). For me as a customer, that meant €10.00 for a single portion of French fries, which was really out of all proportion. (Self-service included.) I ate it at this reasonable price. There were 2 fish meatballs for 16.00 (more bread than fish, and I actually remember and appreciate your delicatessen differently), small fries, and salad from a bucket. Everything was not good and disappointing... and it wasn't declared as such on the board. When I spoke to various friends and family members, the topic came up that some people can't get enough of the restaurant industry, and I definitely have that feeling/impression now, even though I've always felt "at home" in your restaurants. What's the point of ripping off islands and vacationers? What a shame, a real shame... especially bitter when you yourself used to help out in Ahlbeck.... In my opinion, all the problems and worries in the restaurant industry are home-made. All the best to you, but you won't be seeing me again.

The food is delicious, but there's no service in the true sense of the word. You have to order your food at the counter and pick it up after a few minutes (you get a timer that vibrates when the food is ready). Hence only 2 stars for the service.

It's a shame. It's been our highlight for years. Now it seems to be run by an Asian-style restaurant, at least that's what the staff suggests. Long wait times and poor quality. It's a shame.

Many a celebrity smiled at us from the wall as we fought our way through the battle of ready-made products on our plates. Show performances are also included in Domkes' colorful offerings. Ask the lady at the cash register an incompetent question, and you'll immediately get an eye roll and a sigh fit for the super talent. If you're really hungry and have too much money to spare and nothing else... you can go there... if you have to.

The prices are steep. 7 euros for a cold piece of fish in a roll or for fried fish with a leaf of lettuce and a dollop of tartar sauce. When paying by card, the card reader then asks how much you'd like to tip. With pre-select buttons: 7%, 15%, or 22%. Dystopian conditions like in the USA. Everything is self-service, mind you.

Based on a recommendation, we wanted to go out for a nice fish dinner that evening. When my husband entered the restaurant and asked for a free table outside, he was very condescendingly informed that it was self-service. The waitress was also very unfriendly when ordering drinks. We decided to just finish our drinks and find another restaurant. Unfortunately, three other tables had the same experience. We can't comment on the taste of the food.

I can't recommend it. I bought smoked products, and they were pretty bad. The eel was old, dry, and very poorly smoked, or rather, smoked for too long. The Schillerlocken were probably smoked for too short a time and therefore mushy. It was extremely disappointing for me and my family. I'll never shop here again. The smoked salmon, on the other hand, was okay.

We were at Domke in Ahlbeck this evening at 7:15 p.m. and the two of us had a herring and salmon sandwich each, along with a glass of wine and a beer... it tasted very good! However, while we were eating, people were already wiping, scrubbing, and counting the money in the till, so we felt really out of place. The commotion was really stressful, but I ordered a fish meatball with a bread roll and remoulade for a whopping €7.00! The "thing" (fish meatball) was black, small, and tasted incredibly bad... extremely disappointing value for money. Remoulade was barely visible, and the bread roll was probably still from the morning... the lettuce leaf was still okay! What some people have already mentioned is the service staff... they are nice, but their communication is very poor! They really lack a manager who has the unconditional commitment and connection to the kitchen and service. We paid a total of €30.00 and was slightly disappointed with the food and the snack bar atmosphere!

Unfortunately the price of the fish roll 7€ was not justified at all. It was old or very dry and a sheet of salt was really! By far the worst fish roll on the island of Usedom.!!! My wife's meal (fish & chips 16€ a portion for children and the breading was too much that it was naughty.. In addition, this is the second time we have given everything a chance and it has been surpassed once again with the poor quality.. Canteen food is poor!

I haven't been to Sönke for a while. Communication with the staff was difficult because they hardly spoke German or English. On the other hand, 7 euros for a fish cake in a bun with a leaf of lettuce is a complete impudence.

Delicious fried fish rolls, fresh, crispy and delicious. But you better buckle up when it comes to the price, it easily beats everything else in the area at €7 each. However, it gets even more incredible for landlubbers who choose currywurst with fries: they can shell out €12 for the portion (no sailor's yarn), accompanied by a few tears in their eyes... At the front of the shop there is an upscale snack bar feel in front of the fresh fish counter, at the back there are beer garden-style seats outside.

We were guests on the courtyard terrace around 5 p.m. Given the prices, the self-service irritates me. Frozen fried fish with fried potatoes (very tasty) and tartar sauce for €16 is pretty decent. Funnily enough, the fried fish roll with a portion of fried potatoes only cost €14 (???). Unfortunately, the staff is not very communicative because they don't understand or speak German well or at all. That's not really a problem for me, but given the prices I expect someone I can talk to. In another review, someone wrote: ...canteen food at high prices! That sums it up very well.

I had a fried fish roll, but it was a fried fish... The fry, which was a bit too optimistic, did a great job. I couldn't judge the manageable amount of tartar sauce because it played a homeopathic role in this conglomerate. I hope others have a better impression...

Unfortunately, we can't recommend it. The staff were nice, but the food wasn't worth a single star: we ordered herring with boiled potatoes, dill cream sauce, and a salad. The potatoes weren't freshly cooked, so they were hard on the outside and mushy on the inside. The sauce was from a packet, and there was no trace of cream. The herring was partially shredded and smelled a bit musty. The salad tasted of cleaning products because it was covered in a ready-made citrus vinaigrette. There was no refund, not even a portion. The total price of €22 for this meal, and it was self-service, is definitely not justified. A tourist rip-off.

What can I say, we were in the restaurant in January 2025. Every Gosch I've been to is worlds better than this Domke in Ahlbeck. And you can hardly believe it, the prices are the same as at Gosch. But unfortunately the level is miles away from that at Gosch. It was also quite cool and gloomy. The toilet also doesn't keep up with the prices advertised for the food. Sorry…..I won’t visit again. Unfortunately, this is a reflection of the entire gastronomy on the Baltic Sea. Highest prices for canteen food. If I pay €20 for a schnitzel, I expect it to be freshly prepared in a pan, and not in oil.

We have been visiting the restaurant regularly for many years because, as always, we had good experiences with the food and service, just like the branch in Heringsdorf. The decor is very pleasant and pretty. The information about the food was very informative and clear. The fact that the service staff has some difficulty understanding the order given in German is not a problem and is due to the misery of the lack of employees. Ultimately what was ordered was served. Matjes and fried herring, each with fried potatoes. What was not at all acceptable was the fact that the dish was nicely decorated, but the quality of the fish was previously unknown and not expected. Even though the second week of January may be a low tourist time, the fish must not have been left so long that it is mushy, pale and almost tasteless. The fact that this overlapping occurs for possibly economic reasons suggests poor supervision or even toleration on the part of management. very disappointing, the entire fish was returned by three people with critical reasons.

Very tasty and fresh fish. I was really happy with that. I rate the service 4 stars because the employee behind the counter was very friendly. You just have to know that it is a self-service restaurant and there is no real service. Whatever, I can basically live with that. It's okay that the charm of the hall has been retained. When the staff argue loudly about inventory and duty rosters, things get rather uncomfortable. That's somehow part of the ambience.

10/30/24, around 1 p.m Ordered small sea buckthorn juice and got a disgusting, orange, very artificial tasting lemonade for €4. When asked, it was confirmed that this was the juice. I can actually tell juice and lemonade quite well apart 😉. The drink should be banned because effervescent powder tastes better. (Cola cost €3). The plaice was dry with little flavor, the cod wasn't bad. We can ignore the bland cabbage salad 🤣 It's actually a shame, especially because of the rooms.

Ordering was difficult because the staff spoke and understood German very poorly and English a little better. It took 2 attempts for my wife's KiBa. The first one was flaky, the second one was ok because I shook up the bottle of banana juice myself. Then my Labskaus was served with Bismarck herring. Usually it includes matjes and not pickled fish... My wife's salad was perhaps fresh the day before... today it has brown edges... but it's already autumn, so the color at least matches the leaves of the trees. Well, we were pretty disappointed with what had become of the formerly rustic Domke. In any case, the Fischkopp flair can only be found there in pictures from times gone by. Too bad

We wanted to eat at Domkes in Ahlbeck on Saturday lunchtime and stood at the counter in the completely empty restaurant for at least 5 minutes. An employee was diligently cleaning it and skillfully ignored us. A second person joined us, but she wasn't interested in our order either. We had now missed the food and preferred to go to another, but nice, restaurant. By the way, on Monday we went to Domke's fish restaurant in Heringsdorf, where it tasted very tasty, but the service was very snippy. No money has been put into this for years. Everything looks shabby and dingy. My friends turned around because they didn't have any cash with them. No card payment possible. This is a case for hygiene and the tax office.

A curry sausage with fries for 12.00 euros. The sausage, tried a bite, horrible. Tried the fries, completely over salted. Replacement delivery was not offered!!! Cod fillet with boiled potatoes came with fatty fried potatoes and various bones. When asked about this, the only thing that was said was that there is no such thing as fish without bones. After all, the special doesn't taste special. The manager couldn't be reached and the employee didn't even offer a discount. I then ate at the butcher across the street. With so much arrogance, one star is still too many!!!! Never again.

The shop seems quite nice. The fish on offer looks delicious and the counter is well stocked. The atmosphere is rustic and the staff is friendly. Fat BUT: only cash payment possible and you quickly end up with 50€+ for 2 meals. It doesn't help that the Volksbank ATM is hanging in front of the door and charges a €5 fee. All of this left a bad aftertaste, so we decided to stay away. A reputable company offers card payment!
