Super delicious food and ambience!

Beautiful ambiance, attentive staff. Unfortunately, the vegetarian selection is quite limited. If there were a bit more choice, it would be a 10 out of 10. Nevertheless, we will definitely be back.

We were in the dragon fire as a family. The atmosphere is really great...you feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages. The service is friendly, courteous and dressed in keeping with the restaurant's motto. Both the children and we adults all found something on the menu that we really enjoyed. Conclusion: Great food, nice people and great atmosphere: therefore a clear recommendation from us.

And the best part? They still speak like they did back then - with a language and expression that perfectly rounds off the vibe. The ambience is harmonious throughout, you can feel the attention to detail in every corner. This isn't just a show - this is where the topic lives! The food? Hearty, high quality and absolutely in keeping with the atmosphere. No unnecessary frills – just real craftsmanship on the plate. Regardless of whether you are a fan of Nordic history or just want to experience something completely different: you MUST visit this restaurant. It is by far the best thing I have ever seen in terms of medieval and Viking flair - and that in a normal restaurant with walk-in customers. Craziness! Go there. Experience it. You won't regret it.

A concept that is consistent down to the smallest detail and that is also lived. From the greeting to the payment - jingling coins or witchcraft? You feel welcome and very comfortable as a guest. The candlelight and the handmade clay dishes create a special atmosphere. The menu contains information about the historic house, but the employees also tell you a lot of interesting things when asked. Food was very tasty - we had the Musketeers - and drinks were refreshing. BIG recommendation!

We had a wonderful evening at Drachenfeuer. The food was delicious. The ambiance and service were very fitting for the theme. I would highly recommend this visit, but I would make a reservation in advance next time, as this place was very booked up. A vegan selection is available, and it's very good. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by. :)

My absolute favorite restaurant in Meersburg. The food is simply delicious, you can drink mead (honey wine) and delicious beer there, and the medieval atmosphere is something very special—a must for any medieval fan. I also have to commend the staff, who are always friendly and make every effort to ensure their guests are well looked after.

We were there on New Year's Eve, the event was nice overall, but they had no plan because of the buffet, when we were sitting upstairs there was no bread or salad, when we asked we said that so much had already been made up, but there wasn't enough back and forth. We left 15 minutes earlier otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see the fireworks at the lake. And when we paid, unfortunately we didn't receive any champagne as promised. Organizationally there is still room for improvement, but we are happy to have experienced the whole thing. It was still nice and worth the experience. Thanks

The Drachenfeuer Tavern in Meersburg is a real experience! The rustic furnishings with candlelight create a unique atmosphere. The food is hearty, tasty and drinks are served in beautiful earthenware mugs. The barmaid makes the visit something special - humorous, warm and with medieval charm. You feel comfortable and welcome. If you love good food and an extraordinary ambience, you should definitely stop by here. Absolute recommendation!

Unfortunately not a great experience. The restaurant has a nice charm. But if two of the few dishes are no longer available, and then the alternative choice, in my case the bratwurst, was served almost ice-cold... then it's very very Too bad. Meersburg as a place is certainly worth more than one repeat. But the medieval tavern...probably not. Too bad...

Really really tasty. Unfortunately, ox ribs were advertised both in front of the house and on the menu, but unfortunately they weren't available. Hence a star deduction from the service. There was a beef casserole for that - absolute recommendation. The atmosphere and clothing of the waiters round off the medieval concept perfectly. Gladly again!

The locking is great. The service is good but cozy. It slows you down, which is a good thing. The food is ok! I would rather recommend the cream bags.

A lovingly restored building, which releases its great ambience as soon as you enter and is rounded off by a nice medieval welcome from the owner. Food is not convenience food and tastes correspondingly delicious. Cleanliness (including in the toilet) is visibly important here! Highly recommended!

Very tasty food in a great atmosphere! Very friendly waitresses. But bring a little time, we waited about an hour for the food. But it was very fresh.

As a vegetarian, I attended the New Year's Eve event at Drachenfeuer and was able to shell out €110 for three lukewarm Maultaschen. The ambience is beautiful but very, very LOUD. I had a hard time understanding the person sitting next to me and I felt really obstructed so I had to constantly ask. the soup tasted like nothing and the food was lukewarm. It wasn't enjoyable and after the second glass of sour red wine I had such severe heartburn that the All You Can Drink was just a farce. Summary, poor quality at a high price. I was really happy when I was back home and the nightmare was over. Never again.

After 2 calls and personal questions about New Year's Eve cards, there was no response. I felt ripped off.

Great inn with a medieval atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The dishes on offer are tasty and reasonably priced. Also recommended for non-medieval fans. We will definitely come back.👍👍👍

We just wanted to have a drink on Saturday without a reservation, which worked out without any problems. The ambience is extraordinary, rustic and special. We'll definitely be back soon to try the food too.

We have been coming here regularly for years, dressed appropriately of course. A tavern that you should see, especially in such a historic setting. Food and drinks, appropriately served in earthenware dishes. Very nice staff and boss. Simply brilliant. And we were always happy with the food. It just tastes good. Nothing fancy. Just original. It's a shame that Google won't upload my pictures.

Everything in this restaurant has been set up with incredible attention to detail and a lot of passion, huge praise and my utmost respect to the owners who have achieved a true miracle here. And it's not just the location that deserves the highest praise, the cuisine and service are also extremely well thought out and simply top-notch. We're already looking forward to our next visit to this really rustic, cozy place.

We were in Meersburg this weekend and by chance we walked past this wonderful restaurant. We were lucky and spontaneously got a great place for eight of us. The ambience is unbeatable. Old half-timbered buildings, nooks and crannies with medieval charm everywhere. The robes the service wears made this evening something very special for us. A heartfelt recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice atmosphere, but the service was terrible. I ordered a starter and main course. I got both together. The quality of the food was quite ok. Had fried potatoes that were already cold and soggy. In terms of service, you are treated extremely well. It's a real shame, there's definitely more that could be done.

The impression from the outside was not misleading. A very nice atmosphere, back to the time of knights. We felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, the evening also has a downside, which is a shame because we had had a very nice evening up until then. A meal was returned because it was too greasy. We were promised a short drink on the house which was not provided. We didn't receive an invoice when we paid. The food that was returned was charged in full. There was a feeling that after returning the food the staff was a bit offended. A very nice atmosphere, a very nice evening that unfortunately came to an unpleasant end. I would still go there again because I believe that criticism and incentives were taken seriously.

We drove an extra 2.5 hours to have a nice day there. After a walk through the old town, we stopped at the Drachenfeuer. Friendly welcome, no question. The design is a feast for the eyes in every corner. I would have hoped for more from the food... I can get bratwurst and meatballs on every corner.The stew we had was simply tasteless..Cream flatbreads like at every medieval market.I see a lot of need for revising the menu.There are so many great dishes that fit into a place like this.. Make an effort... it drastically reduces the whole experience...

Good German food in an extremely unique atmosphere!

Both the staff and the food are great. The service staff don't lose their sense of humor even when there's a lot of hustle and bustle. The ambience is in medieval style, and the menu is designed accordingly, again with a wink. The next time we are at Lake Constance, there will definitely be some catching up to do!

Eating there was really fun. We were lucky that we got a place without a reservation. Everything fits the atmosphere there, the menu, the clothing of the staff, the dishes... In the end, payment was made in hard cash or the devil’s work😊 A beautiful evening in the Middle Ages!

Very cozy and lovingly furnished in medieval times and imaginatively decorated. Even the service wears appropriate clothing and is friendly, attentive and quick. The food was good, the prices normal. Attention: The small portions are really very small and are more suitable for trying several things. We felt very comfortable!

Something different. Food was good. And drinks are available from the in-house clay cup, which can be purchased for €8.50. We had to reserve even in the low season. The ambience matches the location in the shadow of the castle.

An absolute must! This is a place with a very high standard and ambience especially if you want to experience a journey through time. The Medieval Restaurant is also simply a great tavern and a beautiful place to experience. The service is enthusiastic and always creates a great atmosphere. The food and drink is highly recommended. A place you have to see. I would give 100 stars.

Great medieval restaurant. An experience for the kids, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Deductions in the B note: we called and were told that no reservations could be made. When we were there, we wanted to choose a table but it “is reserved”. Strange - what now!? The meal took an hour from the time we ordered it, and the ox ribs for 28 EUR (or so) had a lot of bones and little meat. Sure, that's how it grows. But then you have to put more on the plate. The tarte flambées were very tasty! In the end, highly recommended and a great restaurant concept.

An inn that beautifully implements the Middle Ages motto. From the menu to the service to the detailed furnishings, everything fits together wonderfully. I felt very comfortable. A real must for medieval fans. But also worth a visit for everyone else.

How to go back in time. They provide an immersive experience of true taverns from the feudal period. It's really worth it and the prices are very fair.

Simply rustic, the attention to detail in the furnishings, decoration, down to the menu and glasses, everything is right. And good service and very friendly staff! The restaurant alone is worth a visit to Meersburg :-)! Keep it up!!!

Great experience! Good food in quantities that ensure you will eat enough, pleasant and peculiar ambience; fine service. The roasted beef was exceptional, I can only recommend it.

The ambience can hardly be put into words; it is an extremely well-decorated inn in the Middle Ages style. The service staff is extremely courteous and friendly. What is particularly noteworthy is that it even serves in typical medieval garb and stays in the role. You simply have to see the inside of this restaurant, extremely impressive! The menu is full of medieval specials for drinks and dishes. There should be something for every taste here. A visit to this restaurant can be ideally combined with a previous castle tour in order to get in the mood thematically. We particularly recommended the tarte flambée and the special drink “Odin”.

5 stars are not enough for the ambience!!! A few weeks ago we were here for dinner. We couldn't help but be amazed. The restaurant is decorated with such incredible attention to detail. You feel like you've been transported to another time! Very successful! This dinner was truly an experience! If we're in the area again, I'll definitely know where we'll eat! The taste of the food was also very good!

You actually couldn't eat the ox ribs for €29. Just tough. Unfortunately we had to give it back, but instead we had meatballs, which tasted good. My goulash had 6 scraps of meat and was simply thin in terms of taste. The waiters were great and we liked the atmosphere. Not recommended for drinking, fun for eating.

Great medieval atmosphere, perfect if you have visited the castle beforehand. Very friendly service, comfortable seating and original dishes. The cream cakes are a hit, and there is also a good vegetarian selection. And Odin, the tasty honey beer, was also very tasty.

Wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. They have a great selection of rahmfladen, which is a mix between pizza and flammkuchen. Their grill menu is also very good. We also enjoyed the desserts they have. However, without extensive knowledge of the German language it is hard to imagine what some dessert could look like. They are all delicious, so it doesn’t really matter anyways.

Originelles und zentral gelegenes Restaurant mit dem besonderen Charme. Vom Ambiente, der "mittelalterlichen" Ansprache über das Essen und Trinken bis zur Bedienung ist alles dem Mittelalter nachempfunden. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut und die Bedienungen waren sehr schnell und freundlich. Das Wikinger-Met und die Frikadellen kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen!

The concept has substance and you can tell that it is lived with passion. The decor is very authentic and you forget that you are actually in 2024😅Of course the food is also very tasty and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Went to this restaurant today and ordered ribs and they were the worst ribs we've ever eaten, meat was cold and not cooked properly. The service went like this and the rest, well. Price performance a solid five and avoid this restaurant.
