Very nice atmosphere, but the service was terrible. I ordered a starter and main course. I got both together. The quality of the food was quite ok. Had fried potatoes that were already cold and soggy. In terms of service, you are treated extremely well. It's a real shame, there's definitely more that could be done.

The impression from the outside was not misleading. A very nice atmosphere, back to the time of knights. We felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, the evening also has a downside, which is a shame because we had had a very nice evening up until then. A meal was returned because it was too greasy. We were promised a short drink on the house which was not provided. We didn't receive an invoice when we paid. The food that was returned was charged in full. There was a feeling that after returning the food the staff was a bit offended. A very nice atmosphere, a very nice evening that unfortunately came to an unpleasant end. I would still go there again because I believe that criticism and incentives were taken seriously.

We drove an extra 2.5 hours to have a nice day there. After a walk through the old town, we stopped at the Drachenfeuer. Friendly welcome, no question. The design is a feast for the eyes in every corner. I would have hoped for more from the food... I can get bratwurst and meatballs on every corner.The stew we had was simply tasteless..Cream flatbreads like at every medieval market.I see a lot of need for revising the menu.There are so many great dishes that fit into a place like this.. Make an effort... it drastically reduces the whole experience...

We came here with a larger group of people, as organizers we were given good and patient advice by the management in advance, all arrangements worked out 100%, we were extremely satisfied with the process, the food and drinks, the whole ambience and can definitely recommend the restaurant. Good German food in an extremely unique atmosphere!

Both the staff and the food are great. The service staff don't lose their sense of humor even when there's a lot of hustle and bustle. The ambience is in medieval style, and the menu is designed accordingly, again with a wink. The next time we are at Lake Constance, there will definitely be some catching up to do!

Eating there was really fun. We were lucky that we got a place without a reservation. Everything fits the atmosphere there, the menu, the clothing of the staff, the dishes... In the end, payment was made in hard cash or the devil’s work😊 A beautiful evening in the Middle Ages!

Very cozy and lovingly furnished in medieval times and imaginatively decorated. Even the service wears appropriate clothing and is friendly, attentive and quick. The food was good, the prices normal. Attention: The small portions are really very small and are more suitable for trying several things. We felt very comfortable!

Something different. Food was good. And drinks are available from the in-house clay cup, which can be purchased for €8.50. We had to reserve even in the low season. The ambience matches the location in the shadow of the castle.

An absolute must! This is a place with a very high standard and ambience especially if you want to experience a journey through time. The Medieval Restaurant is also simply a great tavern and a beautiful place to experience. The service is enthusiastic and always creates a great atmosphere. The food and drink is highly recommended. A place you have to see. I would give 100 stars.

An inn that beautifully implements the Middle Ages motto. From the menu to the service to the detailed furnishings, everything fits together wonderfully. I felt very comfortable. A real must for medieval fans. But also worth a visit for everyone else.

Great medieval restaurant. An experience for the kids, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Deductions in the B note: we called and were told that no reservations could be made. When we were there, we wanted to choose a table but it “is reserved”. Strange - what now!? The meal took an hour from the time we ordered it, and the ox ribs for 28 EUR (or so) had a lot of bones and little meat. Sure, that's how it grows. But then you have to put more on the plate. The tarte flambées were very tasty! In the end, highly recommended and a great restaurant concept.

The tavern is furnished with great attention to detail. You discover something new in every corner. It's not just a dinner but an experience! Great atmosphere! I can only recommend everyone to incorporate this into their travel plans and have a delicious meal here at least once.

How to go back in time. They provide an immersive experience of true taverns from the feudal period. It's really worth it and the prices are very fair.

Simply rustic, the attention to detail in the furnishings, decoration, down to the menu and glasses, everything is right. And good service and very friendly staff! The restaurant alone is worth a visit to Meersburg :-)! Keep it up!!!

Theme restaurant between the Middle Ages and Viking scene. Very lovingly and rustically furnished, employees fully follow the theme. Even the music was appropriate. Good service and really tasty food. We had just visited the museum in the old castle. A really well-rounded experience with this restaurant. Thanks!

5 stars are not enough for the ambience!!! A few weeks ago we were here for dinner. We couldn't help but be amazed. The restaurant is decorated with such incredible attention to detail. You feel like you've been transported to another time! Very successful! This dinner was truly an experience! If we're in the area again, I'll definitely know where we'll eat! The taste of the food was also very good!

The ambience can hardly be put into words; it is an extremely well-decorated inn in the Middle Ages style. The service staff is extremely courteous and friendly. What is particularly noteworthy is that it even serves in typical medieval garb and stays in the role. You simply have to see the inside of this restaurant, extremely impressive! The menu is full of medieval specials for drinks and dishes. There should be something for every taste here. A visit to this restaurant can be ideally combined with a previous castle tour in order to get in the mood thematically. We particularly recommended the tarte flambée and the special drink “Odin”.

Price/performance top! The cream flatbreads are particularly recommended in all variations. Medieval atmosphere throughout.

Wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. They have a great selection of rahmfladen, which is a mix between pizza and flammkuchen. Their grill menu is also very good. We also enjoyed the desserts they have. However, without extensive knowledge of the German language it is hard to imagine what some dessert could look like. They are all delicious, so it doesn’t really matter anyways.

You actually couldn't eat the ox ribs for €29. Just tough. Unfortunately we had to give it back, but instead we had meatballs, which tasted good. My goulash had 6 scraps of meat and was simply thin in terms of taste. The waiters were great and we liked the atmosphere. Not recommended for drinking, fun for eating.

Originelles und zentral gelegenes Restaurant mit dem besonderen Charme. Vom Ambiente, der "mittelalterlichen" Ansprache über das Essen und Trinken bis zur Bedienung ist alles dem Mittelalter nachempfunden. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut und die Bedienungen waren sehr schnell und freundlich. Das Wikinger-Met und die Frikadellen kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen!

The concept has substance and you can tell that it is lived with passion. The decor is very authentic and you forget that you are actually in 2024😅Of course the food is also very tasty and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Thank you for this great evening, we can only recommend the dragon fire.

Went to this restaurant today and ordered ribs and they were the worst ribs we've ever eaten, meat was cold and not cooked properly. The service went like this and the rest, well. Price performance a solid five and avoid this restaurant.

I wish we could have eaten here. We read reviews about bad service but didn't listen. We came for dinner. The waiter who was also the owner asked for our drink and we needed a minute to peruse as it's a large drink menu. He came back a few minutes later and we asked politely for just a few minutes more. Then he disappeared for 15 minutes. Then he stood at the table behind us for another 15 minutes discussing how he couldn't find any one to work and he was constantly understaffed. Then he never returned. The tables around us also craning their necks trying to get some service. So after 40 minutes with no drinks we decided to leave. I worked in food service for decades and I have never seen this before. They seemed to be actively avoiding checking on tables. I don't know if he was put off that we weren't ready immediately with drinks but we were very annoyed. If he had even walked past we could have flagged him down but he seemed to be avoiding us.

Part 1 of 2. Super nice reception and it just happened to be when the door to the restaurant was opened by the boss. An amazing atmosphere and super nice people. Part 2 of 2, so the Bürgertopf is awesome, great braised beef with a great sauce, plus fresh white bread for the rest of the sauce, no no not over yet, followed by a delicious garlic cream and finally creamy flatbread with mhmhmh. This restaurant is in a really old building (like 1400's) (one wall was from 1300's). There are a few pages about the history in the english menu. The drinks were so good (cherry mead, and honey beer). The food was amazing. I had a great salad, and a flatbread, and my husband enjoyed his flatbread pizza too. They were very nice, and were able to fit us in without a reservation (just 2 of us).

September 19, 2024 Today we went to the Drachenfeuer again and it was again very good and is absolutely recommended. When we are in Meersburg we will definitely come back to Drachenfeuer.

Very nice medieval atmosphere. Everything fits from the decor, the lovingly designed menu, the background music and the appropriately dressed, friendly and attentive service. And the food was also very tasty 😉. We also took two bottles of the delicious Odin brew (honey beer) with us.

The place is very cool, the waiters are quite friendly and attentive, the food, well, German, without waiting much, you have a good time. Typical dishes of the area.

Food was good, prices were reasonable and cleanliness was not an issue. Felt the food could have done with a little more salt, but the beef was good to perfection. Giving drinks service a 3 as I felt it was a little slower then I would have hoped. Decoration is fantastic. Would come again for sure.

The ambience of the restaurant really impressed us. You can feel the attention to detail in every corner - except the modern toilets. The menu, cutlery, drinking glasses, decorations, even the clothes of the waitress, etc - everything seems medieval - just great. The food was also very good, especially the cream cakes. We have been coming here regularly for years, dressed appropriately of course. A tavern that you should see. Food and drinks served in earthenware dishes. Very nice staff and boss. Simply brilliant. And we were always happy with the food. It's a shame that Google won't upload my pictures.

The restaurant is located exactly opposite the castle - you feel like you have been torn away from everyday life and modernity and catapulted into the Middle Ages. An absolute recommendation for anyone who is enthusiastic about event gastronomy. I have never been to such a beautiful medieval restaurant with such an authentic atmosphere. The food selection is plentiful and there is something for everyone. The drinks are all served in clay pots (it tastes better that way😉). Unfortunately we sat at the back, so we sat there for a bit longer with an empty drink. Maybe we should go for a spin more often. I would come straight back to your house if I was in the region again. Keep it up!!!!

It was a real experience to spend the evening in this restaurant. When we walked past it in the previous days, we always marveled at the great house facade and the furnishings through the open windows. When you entered this restaurant, you felt like you were transported back to Viking times thanks to the atmosphere, the staff dressed to match the theme, and the overall presentation - such as the dishes made entirely of clay. The evening's musical accompaniment included Irish folk, among other things. For beer fans and mead lovers, the food and drink menu left nothing to be desired. The food we ordered tasted excellent and we would have preferred to order anything from the menu. That was definitely the best dinner of our vacation - thank you for that! We are already looking forward to next year!

Great service, absolutely ok in terms of price, the meatballs were very tasty, the potatoes were a bit too dry for me but the taste mattered, the flatbreads were ok but also a bit too dry for me. But definitely worth an experience.

All great! You sit outside on benches with furs, drink from mugs, the staff are dressed in medieval clothing and are very nice. The food was impeccable and the prices are not overpriced. I can only recommend it! There is a good selection of vegetarian food and I think vegan food too.
