Great restaurant. It is well themed and beautifully decorated. The food was really good and more than enough. The service was a bit slow. It took 20 minutes before taking our order… this could have been better.

We were recommended to visit the medieval tavern in Meersburg, so we went as a gift for a friend. And all I can say is: Wow! A wonderful atmosphere, medieval music playing in the background, the staff in beautiful medieval garb... simply delightful. And the food was amazing. We had the cheese and leek soup as a starter and then shared the Landsknecht platter between the four of us. Way too much, but incredibly delicious. We'd love to come back! 🤩

The best restaurant in Mersburg. Add to that the medieval flair, complete with seating and tables, and even the waitstaff's "work clothes." Five stars aren't enough for the food. I wholeheartedly recommend Drachenfeuer to EVERY visitor to Lake Constance. You simply must eat and drink here.

A wonderful experience thanks to the charming, rustic rooms, the exceptionally (child-)friendly staff, and the absolutely delicious food, served fresh and in generous portions. The menu, including the names and descriptions of the dishes, is very well done. The Dinnele (a type of flatbread) with goat cheese and the salad with goat cheese were divine. Well worth the money!

We visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time yesterday, on a busy Saturday. You immediately sense the wonderful medieval ambiance, and the service is excellent. For starters, we had a delicious cheese and leek soup, and for the main course, we each had a vegetarian cream flatbread for the two of us. The portions are large and very filling. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was good, although relatively expensive compared to the ingredients used. This is certainly also due to the location, where lease and personnel costs are not cheap. Speaking of the staff: A lot of effort has been put into making guests feel at least somewhat like they were in the Middle Ages. The Junker still needs experience and self-confidence. The ambiance is cozy, but not necessarily medieval. But that's not a big deal. In the background, music played that could be attributed to the Middle Ages. Quite quiet at first, but a bit louder later in the evening, but not disturbing enough to make for a pleasant conversation at the table. I can therefore highly recommend this restaurant; it is simply refreshingly different from the other restaurants in Meersburg.

In general a nice experience with the middle ages atmosphere. The menu can get improved a little, in my personnal opinion it needs some enrichment. I would appreciate a Haxe in a place like this for example. Service was friendly and professional. I would recommend in general while visiting Meersburg.

I live in Meersburg and would like to share my experience with this restaurant and the staff's behavior. I've been here several times in the past—with family or friends—and have always had a positive impression. However, this month I had two very disappointing experiences. The first time, I wanted to order a takeaway, but the man with the white beard refused. He said it wasn't possible. The second time, yesterday around 6 p.m., I politely asked the same man if there was a table available for dinner. His response was unfriendly and—to be honest—seemed a bit discriminatory. He said the restaurant was full, even though I could see with my own eyes that several tables were free. It's not easy for me to write a review like this, but I feel it's important to mention it. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in Meersburg so far. I sincerely hope that this feedback is taken seriously and that they improve their customer service in the future.

A rustic restaurant with a medieval feel! At wooden tables in the vaulted cellar with authentic old walls, you can enjoy everything from fruity mead and beer ice cream in a Viking horn (highly recommended!) to barbarian plates and burgers. Located on a beautiful and steep street, the walk here is definitely worth it.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were practically walking past it when we took a look inside. It was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the place was very busy, so we only got a seat outside. The tables and surroundings were clean. The waiters were all dressed in medieval costume, spoke the same language, and were very friendly and cheerful. The drinks were served in rustic vessels and were cool and delicious. The food was also excellent and plentiful. The price wasn't bargain, but it was appropriate for the quality and the ambiance, in my opinion. The restrooms were also clean. In short, a definite recommendation to stop by.

Sometimes, however, a bit inattentive. However, since the place was very busy, that can happen. Overall, a very great restaurant, and we will definitely return when we're in the area! One comment that wasn't included in the review: it would have been nice if they offered something like a bread basket! The bread that accompanied the dishes was very tasty; a few more slices with dip as an appetizer or with a beer would have been perfect!

Some tables are very close together, so you can hear all the conversations your neighbors are having, or even have private conversations yourself. Overall, it's very noisy. Completely overrated in my opinion. There are much better restaurants in town.

It was a very nice Saturday lunch. The service was very friendly, but you do have to be prepared for a bit of time. They could have improved by asking if you'd like anything else to drink. Otherwise, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic.

It's like traveling back in time with a full stomach: Instead of bratwurst, they serve "dragon's tail" – and it tastes really good, too. The ambiance is reminiscent of a medieval tavern, and the service plays the part perfectly while remaining super friendly. You can even choose to pay with a "Taler" or "Witchcraft." Bottom line: If you don't leave here feeling full and grinning, you've probably parked your horse in the wrong place.

The restaurant has a rustic feel. The waitresses are friendly and helpful. The food is decent, apart from the meat side dishes. I would have chosen the Barbarian Plate. The potato wedges with garlic sauce were very tasty. The meatball, on the other hand, looked like it came from the Rewe meat counter and tasted just like it. The bratwurst didn't look much better and, unfortunately, tasted very watery. The turkey skewer was okay. Overall, however, the dish didn't live up to its €27 price tag.

The food is delicious, but you have to be aware that you're paying a few euros more for a unique atmosphere. For two people, including drinks and dessert, it came to around €50. It was worth every cent. The service was also top-notch.

We were there two Fridays in a row during our vacation on Lake Constance and were absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious both times, the portions large enough to fill you up! The drinks were superbly selected! For mead lovers, the mead slush is a must; try it! 😍 Admittedly, the idea is strange at first, but afterward, you'll hardly want anything else! The ambiance is a 12/10! We've never felt more comfortable in a restaurant! Another highlight is the clay dishes! Everything you can imagine is made of clay! Totally cool! Another highlight was the invitation to eat with your hands if you like (as was the custom back then), the tavern music in the background, which rounded everything off wonderfully, and the reminder that you can ask the waiter for dice or cards. We brought a few card games with us both evenings. The waiters were all very friendly, too! Unfortunately, it'll be another year until we get here, but we'll definitely be spending more than just one evening there again! Thank you, dear Drachenfeuer team! :)

We were in beautiful Meersburg on August 21, 2025 (in pouring rain). After thoroughly exploring the castle itself, the rain and hunger spontaneously swept us into the Drachenfeuer tavern :). The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere extremely cozy (dim lighting, authentic medieval decor and furniture), and the food served was very tasty (and creatively named). There was Knollenschnitz with red sauce (potato wedges with ketchup) and Drachenschwanz with Knollenschnitz (bratwurst with potato wedges) for the little ones, Knusperknüppel (chicken drumsticks), and (my personal favorite) Rahmfladen (cream pancakes) with a choice of toppings. We also enjoyed cold drinks from clay jugs :). Afterwards, we paid with the Hexenwerk (EC card) instead of cash, and we returned home full and satisfied. We highly recommend the Drachenfeuer tavern :). Best regards from Brandenburg on Lake Constance.

The food is delicious. We received a warm welcome, and the service was very prompt. For a family of four, the pricing takes some getting used to (€120 to €130). It's definitely worth a visit.
