The ingredients are exceptional, creatively combined, and of the highest quality. Many of the toppings are rarely found in this combination, making each pizza a unique culinary experience. The flavors are perfectly balanced – a true taste sensation that will stay with you long after your meal. The service also deserves high praise. The staff is consistently very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You feel welcome and well taken care of from the moment you arrive, without the service being intrusive. Requests are fulfilled quickly and reliably, and even when the restaurant is full, the team remains professional and courteous. The pleasant atmosphere perfectly complements the visit and makes you want to return again and again. For us, Don Vito is a go-to restaurant in Lübeck for exceptionally good pizza and first-class service. We would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

We received a very warm welcome and felt comfortable from the start. The food was excellent and the ambiance truly lovely. While the seating was a bit closer together, offering less privacy, this didn't bother us at all. The service was attentive and friendly – ​​overall, a fantastic experience! The pizza was excellent, I had the bee sting cake version. The wine was also good, and the young waiter was very friendly. Overall, it's worth a visit, although the prices mean it's not something you'd want to do very often.

The welcome was friendly. Personally, I found the two-seater benches too close together. You could hear every conversation your neighbors were having. Unfortunately, the dough was too tough today, and both the pizza sauce and, for example, my mushrooms could have used a bit more oomph. It was rather bland. I emphasize "today" because everyone can have an off day, and things can certainly go wrong with homemade dough. The music was too bass-heavy for the crowd. Some quieter music would have brought a bit of calm to the noisy crowd. Perhaps it will be better next time.

If you're looking for a different kind of pizza than the standard, this is the place for you. This place knows what they're doing. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The young and very friendly staff. The dessert of vanilla ice cream with espresso rounded it all off. We'll definitely be back.

Very chic. Friendly staff who cater to guests' every need. The food is delicious. The open kitchen is always good because you can see what's being served. The restroom is very comfortable and clean. The back dining area could have used one less table as it was quite cramped. My girlfriend and I had a lovely evening.

We were there on a Saturday with perfect weather. The outdoor area was very well-attended. The service was very friendly and attentive despite the large number of customers. The menu is appealing, with some exceptional pizzas, but they also come at a price. I had the Alba Longa, which was very tasty. However, it's the most tame of the exceptional pizzas. If you want a different kind of pizza, you should stop by. And to finish off, treat yourself to an espresso.

A beautiful location around a historic tower, with attentive and friendly service. The olive oil lemonade (0.2 l for €5) is exceptional, but not recommended given the very poor value. Unfortunately, both our pizzas were cold and very tough – you had to work hard with the cutlery. The "La Pecora Nera" was interesting in terms of flavor, but had far too few walnuts for my taste, even though the cheese was really great. The "Bienenstich" pizza is very special – an unusual blend of sweet and spicy. Overall: nice location and good service, but the food and value for money were disappointing.

Top pizza, no standard... 👍🏻 It couldn't be better in Lübeck

I was there with my family a while ago, and we both agreed that the pizzas were among the best we've ever tasted. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was chic and clean. The restaurant was chosen for its variety of toppings, as you can find combinations here that aren't available anywhere else. Unfortunately, this doesn't extend to the vegetarian (let alone vegan, but that's understandable) selection. In one category, you'll find three "meatless pizzas"—meatless, but with Parmesan or other hard cheeses made with animal rennet, as noted in the description. If I remember correctly, the selection has decreased since my visit, which is a shame. I really don't understand why they can't remove these cheeses from the vegetarian pizzas and come up with other variations that are just as delicious. There seems to be no shortage of creativity here!

At Don Vito, they make the pizza dough a little differently. They use slightly darker flour and a fine layer of ground semolina or something similar on the outside, which creates a wonderful, crispy texture on the bottom and edges. I loved the slight crunch, but not the whole-wheat flavor of the dough—it's a matter of taste. The sauce on the pizza could also have been given more attention. We were there in a large group, about 16 people. So I almost forgive the service for simply forgetting my pizza salciccia. But they could have admitted it. Otherwise, it was a successful evening. As is so often the case, this restaurant also lacks soundproofing. The lack of comfort obviously helps sales, but it takes away a point from me in terms of ambiance, which I otherwise find very pleasant.

Conclusion: If you are longing for an authentic pizza, you will definitely find it here - and at a price that is more than fair for the quality of the food. The small number of seats could be a problem, but you get a pizza that is absolutely convincing in terms of taste and preparation.

I haven't eaten such delicious pizza dough in ages! And the toppings on all three pizzas were also finely tuned, in one case even very much tailored to individual wishes. The service was super friendly and accommodating and fully deserved the name service. We booked right back 2 days later reserved a table.

Best pizza in Lübeck – with one but I went to Don Vito in Lübeck with my family yesterday. The pizza Giro d'Italia was truly outstanding – crispy crust, great toppings, and the other varieties I tried were also consistently top-notch in terms of taste. Someone here knows how to make pizza, no question. But what about the prices? The signature pizzas are all around €20, the most expensive one is close to €26 – that's definitely the most expensive pizza I've ever eaten in Germany. Plus a local beer for €9, and a Fürstenberg for a "cheap" €6.40. You pay less on Berlin's Ku'damm, and they try to impress with a wannabe VIP flair, while still maintaining good quality, mind you. I understand that good ingredients have their price. But at some point, things tip over – and this is where the threshold is reached. Especially as an established restaurateur with a constantly full shop, it would be better to keep prices stable at some point instead of continuing to increase them. Hopefully, at least some of the exorbitant prices will reach the staff – they were friendly and attentive and definitely deserve their share. Conclusion: A straight A in terms of taste, but a big minus in terms of price. If you love pizza, you'll find true craftsmanship here – but you should check your checking account first.

After about 30 years (due to moving out of HL) I was back at Vito's on the weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. A lot has happened! The dining area is no longer in the tower, but down next door. There were six of us and we had reserved. This is also strongly recommended (at least on Saturday). At around 6:15 p.m. the restaurant was already full...a good sign. They mainly serve pizza and no other frills. But the pizza is also excellent!! We all had a different pizza and the unanimous opinion of all six people was: It was the best pizza ever!! It was a very nice time (also because of the charming, young waitress), who joined in on all of our fun. Our conclusion: It was a great experience and a lovely evening. We'll be back!! Ein Bekannter hatte mit dieses Restaurant empfohlen: „Dort gibt es die besten Pizzen“ leider kann ich bei diesem Urteil nicht ganz mitgehen. Die Burrata mit in Himmbeerbalsamika marinierten Weintrauben dazu sehr crosses Pizzabrot mit Olivenöl schmeckte mir sehr gut, wenn auch die Burrata viel zu kalt war, aber geschmacklich war das trotzdem ok. Die Pizza überzeugte mich allerdings nicht, hier war der Boden viel dicker als bei der Vorspeise, dadurch zwar fluffiger und weicher, aber ich will ja kein ganzes Brot mit Pizzabelag essen, so oder so, ich hätte das nach der Vorspeise nicht essen können. Aber die ganze Kombination aus Schinken, Morzarella, Céreme Fresh und Mais und etwas Parmesam klingt besser als es tatsächlich schmeckte. Ich aß zwei kleine Stücke, nicht einmal 1/4 der ganzen Pizza und sagte auch, dass mir diese Form der Zubereitung nicht schmeckt. Die Bedienung bot sofort an, die Pizza nicht zu berechnen, was ich sehr freundlich fand, allerdings kassierte dann ein junger Mann, der frech kommentierte, dass wenn mir die Pizza nicht geschmeckt habe, dann könne er sie dennoch nicht stornieren. Tja man kann sicher als Gastronom in einer solchen Situation so oder so reagieren, hier aber reagierte man auf die unangenehmste Art, die ich mir vorstellen kann. Ich weiß, wenn ich künftig wieder einmal in Lübeck bin, wo ich ganz sicher nicht essen werde.

It was our first time at the new Don Vito tonight, it was a very pleasant experience. The bruschetta and pizza were absolutely delicious and the pizza crust was different and very special. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice (we even chatted to the couple at the table next to us) and the decor was modern and stylish. The service was good and the staff were very friendly and competent. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Since I've been so kindly asked to leave a review, I think I should. The burrata with grapes marinated in raspberry balsamic vinegar, served with crispy baked pizza bread with olive oil, was truly a taste sensation. It could have been a real highlight if the burrata hadn't been ice cold. But I wasn't there to complain, I was there for an enjoyable meal before the opera, and so the appetizer was absolutely fine for me and even worthy of a compliment. The pizza, on the other hand, was practically tasteless and, in my opinion, inedible in consistency. It was the same bread as the appetizer, just a bit thicker and therefore a bit fluffier and juicier. But it didn't fit the idea of a pizza at all. I don't want to eat warm bread as the main ingredient in a pizza. The topping of ham, mozzarella, crème fraîche, corn, and a bit of Parmesan sounded appealing, but was unfortunately a disappointment. What bothers me isn't the composition of the dish, but rather the extremely rich pizza base, which I would have never eaten in its entirety after an appetizer without feeling nauseous. So I ate two slices, not even a quarter of the pizza, and by then I'd had enough of it, because the taste wasn't anything special. The really friendly young waitress even offered to take the pizza off the bill, which I found extremely kind – and it was worth a large tip to me – but it wasn't the young lady who took the entire amount, but an unfriendly young man who even cheekily commented on his decision not to take the pizza off the bill. In the end, it's legitimate, and I was quite willing to pay in full for what I ordered, because just because I don't like it is no reason not to pay. However, this is precisely where the concept of service comes into play, which simply isn't present in this restaurant. One can certainly handle situations like this more creatively, but this was the most unfortunate of all imaginable scenarios. That's how you lose customers, and permanently! This doesn't show a trace of a service-oriented approach. I wish you continued success if I'm ever in Lübeck again. Today I know better than ever which restaurant I won't visit again. Now I'm looking forward to a nice visit to La Boheme's Shenzhen 🤣

Magnificent! Anyone who still thinks that Lübeck is just the city for marzipan has never eaten pizza here. Lübeck is now the city of at least the world's best pizza! The difference to a run-of-the-mill pizza begins with the base. It was explained to us that the dough consists of 4 different types of flour and that the advantages of each type were discovered through extensive experimentation. The base is crispy but not too hard and a delicious base for the overall pizza. And the topping! is awesome!! It will take us longer to try out all the delicious varieties and we are looking forward to it. Absolute recommendation! 5 stars for the food, the friendly, competent advice and the beautiful room. Great!
