Nice restaurant with a good selection. The food was okay, especially the vegan selection. The pasta was a bit overcooked, but Germans prefer soft pasta, so maybe that's why 😉 The prices are absolutely reasonable, but the service was overwhelmed, forgetting and mixing up a lot of things. On top of that, we were seated in a relatively small space despite having a reservation.

I don't think we've ever had a better pizza. We absolutely loved it. We'd love to come back to try more from the menu.

We were lucky enough to get a table outside on the Obertrave River and were absolutely thrilled by the attentive and friendly service. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the food was very tasteless; the sauce for my pasta carbonara tasted like butter and salt. I was disappointed with the food. There were four of us here, and none of us liked the pasta. The homemade lemonade was excellent. The ambiance was also nice.

We sat on the terrace, and despite the crowds, we were served quickly and friendly. The food was of excellent quality and tasted delicious.

Very nice on the Obertrave in good weather, a great location, making it a tourist hotspot. The food tastes good, portions are rather small rather than excessive, and there's a lot of hustle and bustle—see and be seen. The seat cushions are getting old and unsightly and could use replacing. Otherwise, not much to complain about...It's a good place to go 🙃

The food was unfortunately very disappointing! The pizza was very doughy, the sauce was tasteless, the antipasti was unseasoned, and they carelessly slapped on a curry sauce that I thought was extra. Furthermore, the Gorgonzola pasta didn't contain any Gorgonzola, which they later added to the sauce upon request. Additionally, one pizza was forgotten when ordering... Absolutely not recommended.

Reheated pizzas with soggy crusts, the Verdura lacked mushrooms. Terrible service, and when we refused to tip, they forced us to. Please avoid this place!

Very nice outdoor seating. Friendly staff and good food. Since it was busy, we had to wait a while for our food. However, we were rewarded with excellent pizza and fantastic ravioli. Despite the full house, the server kept a steady eye on things and was very friendly. This Italian restaurant isn't cheap, but given the location, you're probably paying the tourist price... Everything was very, very tasty 😋

I went there for lunch today and was unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered pasta with tomato sauce, which tasted absolutely bland—bland, lacking any seasoning, simply boring. Even adding more salt didn't help. You can make something like that much better at home, and for a fraction of the price. I also looked at other reviews afterwards, and apparently the problem with the bland seasoning in pasta dishes isn't new. It's all the more incomprehensible that nothing has changed. Pros: The service was friendly and the location is nice. But that alone isn't enough when the food isn't tasty and criticism is handled so inflexibly.

A very appealing, pleasant atmosphere. Highlights: The staff is consistently very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, and the menu selection is plentiful (plus monthly specials with changing dishes).

For the first time, I feel like leaving a bad review. We had the tortellini in cream sauce, and you had to hunt for the sauce. The cherry tomatoes were more decoration than substance. A very dry, expensive affair. The one person who had the pizza was satisfied.

I spontaneously stopped by here for lunch today. As I walked past, I saw a sign advertising a salad (watermelon feta). The salad was truly delicious. It came with three slices of bread. Unfortunately, I missed a bit of (herb) butter. The staff was very friendly, but perhaps they should be careful not to ask if everything's okay when the customer has their mouth full of salad.

Very friendly service and of course delicious food and mocktails

After the first attempt on Friday evening ran out of gluten-free pasta, we gave the restaurant a second chance on Saturday. The food was cold, the carbonara wasn't "authentic" (as promised on the menu), and the wrong wine was served. The staff was friendly and we politely pointed out our criticism. The wine was swapped, but otherwise, there was no response; a real shame and unsatisfactory.

Italian restaurant. Nicely located right by the canal in Lübeck. Ate a salami pizza which was quite ok. For those of you who like beer you have to try "Duckstein"! Medium dark and really good! Reminds me of Altbier.

Nice service. Nice view. But the food is far too expensive for the quality. For me, it's a typical tourist spot, where the focus isn't on good food, but on location. Highly recommended for an Aperol in the sun.

The pizza was really good, they need to practice a little more with the Carbonara. Missing an important detail, namely the cheese that enhances the flavors. Good location by the canal.

There were two of us there. We had to wait a bit to get a seat. This was due to three unfortunate factors: -We didn't make a reservation (our fault) -Rush hour -Rain Unfortunately, the rain made some of the outdoor seating wet and unusable. The service was a plus. The staff didn't leave us standing in the rain; they actively tried to find and organize a seat. We ordered two pizzas (Hawaiian Pizza, Salami Special). Both were large and very tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh! The ambiance outside is fine. It's on the water, but unfortunately, there's a road in between, which isn't the restaurant's fault.

We went to this restaurant at 20:40, knowing that the kitchen closes at 21:00 (indicated on Google maps restaurant info). The wait staff told us the kitchen had already closed.

It's really nice here. One of the best pizza doughs I've ever had. The other dishes also looked appealing and were apparently very tasty.

Cozy Italian restaurant with a river view We visited a cozy Italian restaurant where you can sit both indoors and outdoors by the river, under large umbrellas. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm. We ate an excellent pizza – crispy crust and tasty topping. We also tried pasta carbonara, which was quite decent, but not as impressive as the pizza. The waiters were very friendly and made the experience even better.

Very tasty and highly recommended

We're repeat offenders, and we deliberately and purposefully went to the San Remo. Because we wanted it to be a lovely evening. We treated ourselves to sparkling wine as an aperitif, and red wine and water for dinner. Luckily, the wine we wanted was out of stock, but the alternative recommended by our waiter, Deniz, was very good. The food, after a small mixed salad, we chose spaghetti with strips of rump steak, olives, red onions, and sun-dried tomatoes in a tomato and white wine sauce, as well as pizza with marinated shrimp, olives, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil, was top-notch and very tasty. For our digestif, we chose grappa; Deniz's recommendation was spot on. But the sight of the dessert from the neighboring table made us falter, so we also ordered the delicious crème brûlée. And: It was a successful evening in a pleasant atmosphere, to which Deniz contributed in no small part with his friendly, relaxed manner. Many thanks to the entire San Remo team. Update November 1, 2022: Once again, we were not disappointed at Ristorante San Remo: Gratinated feta cheese with pumpkin puree to start, followed by spaghetti with shrimp or rump steak with Mediterranean vegetables. Accompanied by a good Merlot (house wine) and, inevitably (😉), a grappa. And just like last time: Everything was delicious. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Update July 7, 2023: Repeat offender. And: Delicious again, food and drink to match the special day. 😊 Thank you. 😊 Today: Rump steak (perfectly cooked!) with chanterelle mushrooms à la crème and fried potatoes. Update September 15, 2023 What should I report? 🤔 We spent a wonderful sunny evening ☀️ on the Trave 🚤, which was topped off with delicious food and drinks 🥗🍷🍝. Not to mention the friendly, attentive service. What more could you want? - We'll be back "anyway." 😉 Update February 14, 2025 Actually, all the seats were booked on Valentine's Day. However, we were offered a table at short notice, which we gladly accepted. It was as always: friendly, attentive service, delicious food and drinks. Sorry, dear San Remo team, you won't get rid of us. We'll be back! Update June 9, 2025 Spontaneously, after visiting the wine festival, we wanted something delicious, something festive. Our path led us - once again - to San Remo. And again, we were not disappointed. Drinks, appetizers, pizza - everything was delicious. We'd go back anytime! Update July 7, 2025 We reserved a table for today; we wanted to celebrate our 60th birthday with a twist. We treated ourselves to three of the four dishes from this month's specials: Burrata on grilled green asparagus, marinated cherry tomatoes, and fresh truffle; Gnocchi filled with chanterelle mushrooms, fried pancetta, chanterelle mushrooms, and spring onions in a Parmesan and sage sauce; and Grilled rump steak with chanterelle gnocchi in a cognac cream sauce. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room for dessert. We paired it with the house red wine, a Merlot. Everything was perfect! Many thanks to the entire team.

Enjoying dinner here is generally pleasant. The service is friendly and the food is served promptly. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked and lacked flavor. Given the price, I would have expected higher quality, especially the provision of Parmesan cheese upon request. This was overall disappointing.

We recently visited Ristorante San Remo, located right on the Obertrave in Lübeck, and had a very pleasant stay overall – with a particularly positive impression of the service and the great location. Service: A real highlight was our waiter: extremely friendly, attentive, humorous, and wonderfully personable. He took his time, was in a good mood, and his manner contributed significantly to the feel-good atmosphere. This isn't something to be taken for granted and deserves special mention – service of this level isn't often experienced. Food: The menu offers classic Italian cuisine – pizza, pasta, and meat dishes. Our verdict on the food is mixed: - The pizza was excellent: crispy base, fresh ingredients, top-notch flavor – highly recommended! - The pasta was okay, but didn't quite convince us – a bit more seasoning or refinement would have enhanced the dish. - The lasagna tasted good, but the portions were a bit small for the price. Overall, the food is solid, with clear strengths in the pizza and minor weaknesses in the portion sizes of the pasta and the pasta itself. Ambience & Location: The San Remo scores with its excellent location directly on the Trave River – you can sit outside on the beautiful street terrace with a view of the river and the historic cityscape. A wonderful place to linger, especially in good weather. The interior of the restaurant also appears modern and tastefully decorated, with a pleasant atmosphere. Value for Money: The prices are in the mid-range (approx. €30–40 per person). This is absolutely reasonable for the location, ambiance, and service. Only a few dishes could benefit from a slight adjustment in portion size or a fine-tuning of the flavors. Conclusion: The Ristorante San Remo is a very good address for anyone looking for Italian food in Lübeck – especially if you value a beautiful location and excellent service. The pizza is a real highlight, the service is exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Minor weaknesses in the food prevent it from earning a full five stars, but the overall package is impressive. We'd be happy to return!

Super delicious and well-cooked food. The waiter got mad that we didn't want to wait any longer to pay after waiting for min. 10 minutes. He asked if we were in a hurry!!! Because of the poor service we didn't give much in tip... The waiter then came running after us down the street because he didn't want the few cents we left on the table. Totally unprofessional. A bit of a shame because the food was good.

Their pizzas are good. They also have areas where you can sit by the river. Their employees are not friendly or polite. If you come to Lubeck, you can try their pizzas. The employees we went to the first night were attentive, we went again the next day at noon but there was no sign of the night. I hope you are lucky and come across a good employee. We had the pesto verde pizza, it costs 16.80 €. There is also an additional 2€, since 2 services are opened for a single pizza. I especially recommend you to order this. Met een prachtig uitzicht op de Trave was onze verwachting hoog gespannen. We worden ook vaak blij verrast door Italiaanse restaurants in Duitsland. Restaurant San Remo viel tegen. Het brood bij de bruschetta was taai. De vulling voornamelijk gesnipperde tomaat. En de in de salade misto overheerste ook al de sla en de tomaat. Ook een paar olijven, verder weinig gevuld.

I have to say, I haven't had such a good pizza in a long time. My allergies were also taken into account, and our server was very friendly and, above all, competent with all the questions and challenges that came with them. I can only thank you; it was a very pleasant evening.

San Remo is an Italian restaurant on the Trave River with seating directly on the Trave, across the street, directly in front of the restaurant, and, of course, inside. The service is exceptionally friendly, wine and any type of aperitif can be enjoyed quickly and without pressure, and the food is delicious, ideal with bruschetta as a starter.

Three of us came here for lunch today and sat outside. The pizza tasted good, everything was clean and tasteful, and the service was friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Very, very crowded... The seating felt cramped. Very loud. A "once upon a time" atmosphere. But...very good food... That's why we came here again. Very friendly service.

Cold food and rude service We informed the waitress that our food was cold. The answer was: No, that's not the case here! My wife repeated that the noodles were cold. The waitress assumed my wife was lying! I explained to him that they shouldn't argue with customers and should instead find a solution! The entire dish was tasteless, lacking in seasoning, and not even warm! It's a shame, but we won't spend our money there again and will also advise other people not to eat there!

We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary with wonderful food and great service at San Remo. We chose this restaurant because we're big VFB Lübeck fans. We weren't disappointed. The lasagna is highly recommended. This won't be the last time we're here. Thank you for the lovely evening!

I was looking forward to a good pizza, but was unfortunately disappointed. Instead of classic Italian dishes, there are unusual variations like Hawaiian pizza or asparagus pizza – a matter of taste, but not what you would call Italian cuisine. The pizza arrived cold, even though it advertises a baking temperature of over 490°C. In fact, it was only heated under a salamander, which meant it was neither crispy nor seemed fresh. The dough was very thin, and the toppings were more or less floating on top – not very flavorful. Overall, unfortunately, not a recommendation if you're expecting authentic Italian pizza.

Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the food due to the service staff not being able to serve us. She ignored us after several attempts to speak to her. So we decided to leave after 45 minutes. This was not a pleasant experience as I have never voluntarily left a restaurant without eating. If I could I would give a 0 star rating, but unfortunately this is not possible!

Unfortunately I can't rate the quality of the food because we were ignored by the service staff for 30 minutes and so we left the restaurant at some point. It's a shame, because the neighbors' plates looked delicious and we were really hungry in our luggage... I've honestly never experienced anything like that!

Very tasty restaurant. I can recommend both the truffle pasta and the truffle pizza. We were lucky and got a seat right by the water so we could enjoy the food perfectly. The small minus point is that both the children's pizza and the pasta cost €10. For a children's meal, even though the portion was very fair, it was a bit expensive.

We ordered Apérol Spritz. A 0.2l glass was served, including 0.1l of ice, lots of water, orange, prosecco (?) and a touch of aperitif. Not recommended for an aperitif.

We were very excited. Very fresh and extremely well prepared steak with asparagus and buffalo mozzarella ravioli. In addition, the waiter Deniz served us very well and professionally. We'll be back!

My first time here. Apart from the very cozy outdoor seating, the restaurant is also really nice. Every seat was taken. Nevertheless, you could have a good conversation and not feel disturbed. The service was as you would expect. Attentive and caring. According to the GDPR, you can't mention names in online reviews, but there certainly aren't that many nice young men there. Anyway, thank you from the whole family for a really nice afternoon with delicious food and such great service.

We went for Sunday brunch and it was very good. The service, the food and the selection, there is nothing to complain about 😁. It was always refilled so that nothing was ever missing.

I went to San Remo with friends for Sunday brunch. First of all, I have to praise the chefs who always made sure that everything was freshly refilled and you never had to wait until something was back. Then I thought the selection was great. It was only a small one but there was still something for everyone. No matter whether pasta, scrambled eggs, salami and cheese or even croissants and chocolate fountains. For us it was a successful brunch and we will come back often.
