Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, as the restaurant opens at 11 am but the kitchen doesn't start until 12 pm. The service was very friendly.

After a sauna visit, we spontaneously decided to eat at the restaurant here. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff very friendly, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, even though it's located in a swimming pool complex. We had the Swiss-style pork tenderloin – it was divine. Highly recommended, reservations are necessary.

A nightmare of a restaurant! This restaurant was recommended to me, but I was utterly disappointed in every way! The ambiance? The dining room is not only far too cramped, but you also sit on garden chairs (???) and the noise level is horrendous! The food is mediocre, not bad, but certainly nothing special. But the absolute low point was the service. I have never experienced such rude treatment of guests in my life. When I simply asked if it would be possible to change tables, the server responded by wiping her face in front of a colleague. Apart from that, we were treated extremely rudely and coldly. The Welle is truly nothing more than a swimming pool snack bar, and that's an absolute disgrace!

The food was okay. No complaints there. What was absolutely abysmal, however, was the service. Long waits to order and later to pay (even though the restaurant was practically empty), and unfriendly service. When we had trouble paying by card and asked for a second, the response was: "I don't have any, the restaurant is full" (note: there were exactly seven people in the restaurant). Completely inflexible and unfriendly! Even when we spontaneously added more people to our party, we received the same annoyed reply: "Can't do it, the restaurant is fully booked." In the end, more than half the tables were still free. Conclusion: If you don't care about service or friendliness, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I recommend ordering takeout.

Review: The Wave in Ruhpolding – Visit on Wednesday, November 29th Our visit on November 29th was unfortunately very disappointing. The waiter was consistently unfriendly and showed no professionalism or customer focus whatsoever. It was particularly irritating that white wine was poured into a glass that had previously contained red wine. When we pointed this out, the waiter showed no understanding and responded with further rudeness – completely unacceptable. Regrettably, the owner wasn't there that day, so we couldn't personally inform him of the problems. If the service were to significantly improve in the future, we would give the restaurant another chance – otherwise, we won't be returning.

We've been going to this wonderful restaurant for years and have always been very satisfied – both with the food and the service. Unfortunately, our last visit, on Wednesday, November 29, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., was very different from our previous visits. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and seemed completely unmotivated. He initially offered our two small terriers some water, and we were delighted by this thoughtful gesture. He then apparently forgot to offer it. When we asked about it later, we were told that he wasn't "responsible" for bringing water to dogs. We were quite taken aback! 😮‍💨 Normally, this kind of behavior would warrant a one-star rating. Such conduct is completely out of character with the otherwise excellent service we've come to expect here. It's a shame – you quickly lose regular customers with employees like this. Unfortunately, the owner was off work. We would have liked to discuss the matter in person. (Note: The last sentence about the owner is unrelated and appears to be a separate, unrelated comment. It has been omitted from the translation.) We sincerely hope that this was just a one-off and that the usual friendly service will be offered again in the future.

After visiting the swimming pool with two adults and two children, we were craving the famous "pool fries," and it turned out to be a chic and good restaurant. Our meal was delicious and plentiful. The prices were reasonable. The service was friendly and attentive. What more could you want?

Service was very unfriendly and we waited 30 minutes for two portions of fries.

My wife and I went there two days in a row. Once for Italian, once for German. Both times, the food and ambiance were perfect. We were very impressed. Another plus is that the food is served all day. On vacation, we usually have breakfast, are out and about during the day, and then eat again in the afternoon. The usual opening time of 5:00 p.m. is too late for us. A real insider tip, one you wouldn't expect from a "pool restaurant."

We always enjoy eating at the Welle. The food is excellent and varied: Croatian, Italian, and international. The team is very friendly and dedicated, and everything is quick. Prices range from normal to affordable. It can be quite noisy at times, so you should make a reservation in advance. It's also great that all the dishes are available to takeaway.

We were there in July; the food and service were excellent. BUT we had problems paying cashlessly...and the amount was debited twice. Since then, we've been trying to reach someone to get the money refunded (when paying, they told us to get in touch if anything went wrong). They haven't responded to our emails, and they haven't answered the phone. We're very disappointed with this level of customer service.

We ate at Welle, and everything was perfect, as always, regarding the food. When paying by card (Apple Pay), there was a rather unpleasant situation. The waiter said it didn't work. I immediately received a response that it worked, as usual with Apple Pay. He then showed me on his mobile device, which didn't mean anything. Of course, he wanted the money in cash, and I could write it down if it worked, and I wrote his name on my business card. Of course, it was on my bill the next day. Then I immediately wrote to the restaurant, asking for a transfer and to check with the waiter in question, because I had paid twice. No response even after the second email, which isn't a shame... The waiter received a really good tip of €33! I've never experienced anything like that before. It can happen, but then you have to respond to the two emails, where everything is perfectly understandable :( They know exactly that it worked that evening; it says so on the receipt itself.

The five of us were there for a quick lunch, and the service wasn't exceptional. When we paid, we left little to no tip, and the waiter insulted us in his native language and even threw the tip at us. We've never experienced anything like that before.

The food could have been better seasoned. The pasta was more than al dente; it probably wasn't left in the pot for long. You had to hunt for mushrooms, even though they were supposed to be included.

The food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was right.

The food was very good, but the service was very arrogant. Despite having a reservation, we were only briefly shown to our seats. The whole time, you get the impression that you eat, pay, and the next person is already waiting. It's a shame, because the food is really good.

The food is very good. The location is also good. The waitresses, mostly male, are rather rude. A 10% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I find that a bit cheeky.

We ate here three times because we were swimming. The first time, the waiter completely ignored us. She served the next table and overlooked us. The waiter who came next was incredibly arrogant and unfriendly. We gave the restaurant another try the next day because we were swimming there. The waitress was very charming and friendly, and since the food was actually quite delicious, we went back the next day. The waiter was again very unfriendly, and his arrogant manner made us decide not to come again.

We wanted to eat here after a bike ride. There were free tables in the shade, but we weren't allowed to sit there because that area was "not open." Instead, they wanted to give us a table in the blazing sun in 31-degree heat. No thanks! When we asked for a table, we were rudely turned away. I can't comment on the quality of the food, but the staff was very unfriendly.

A wonderfully cozy restaurant. It's nothing like a "typical" poolside restaurant. The food here is of the highest quality. Above all, the whole package is just right. Beautiful ambiance, good selection, fair prices, top-quality food, super tasty, and generous portions. Very friendly and attentive staff. We ate here twice on our last vacation and again this time. Absolutely delicious. From the chef's welcome to the starter and main course, to dessert, and even a schnapps on the house. Everything was perfect. The roast beef with onions is second to none. The food at the restaurant generally seems good and there's a fair amount of it, but calling an iceberg lettuce with a bit of cucumber and tomato for 9 euros (!) the "big salad of the season" is cheeky. So cheeky that we won't be coming back, even though we had planned to.

We sat down on the terrace and were immediately told in a gruff tone that there was no room. When the waiter noticed we didn't speak German, he waved us away. Very unfriendly and not hospitable!

Today was our first time eating in the beer garden. The seating there is nicer than inside. First, we were greeted with a small greeting from the kitchen, which we thought was very nice. Today we ordered fish. Unfortunately, it was almost completely underseasoned. The roast beef with onions, however, was excellent! I'll definitely eat there again. The prices are also great. Unfortunately, you can't sit for long, as the tables are rebooked at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. This makes a nice evening with friends difficult. The staff is friendly. If you want to eat there, you should definitely make a reservation due to high demand.

Right by the indoor/swimming pool. The food is fantastic, simply amazing! Service was also top-notch! We arrived without a reservation (it was a weekend) and were given a temporary seat at the bar. As soon as a table became available, we were offered it immediately! Very friendly and uncomplicated! The food was simply AMAZING (we didn't expect this from a "pool restaurant")! The quality, taste, and presentation of the dishes were top-notch! The value for money was also excellent! We'd be happy to come back!

Two of us arrived without a reservation. Apparently all the tables were reserved, so we were seated at the counter. We had ordered grilled pork neck with various sauces and fries. There were two pork necks on a pile of fries. When we asked about the sauces, we were brought a small plate with 3 egg cups?! In the cup there was mayo, ketchup, and ??? (radish strips?) After the meal, we spoke to the waiter and said that 1. the meat had come from the pan and not from the grill and was tough and dry. 2. the sauces that were listed on the menu were only ketchup and mayo. He'll tell the kitchen, was his reply. I went to the kitchen door (we were sitting right next to it at the counter) and called out to the kitchen that the pork neck was too dry. When we paid, we realized that he had taken the dish out of the till and we didn't have to pay for it. No apology, no explanation. Pay and that's that. That's unprofessional. And the tables (we asked when a second table became available if we could move from the counter to it) were still free when we left at 8:15 p.m. A simple swimming pool restaurant with cheap, poorly prepared food, nothing more.

The restaurant is attractively decorated. Unfortunately, the male server was very listless and unfriendly. We had pizza, and our little daughter had the kids' pasta with tomato sauce. Unfortunately, it was tortellini pasta—not pasta for kids in my opinion, but it was good. The pizza was okay. We won't be going there again on our next visit to the swimming pool due to the poor service.

The restaurant in the indoor pool. A must-try when visiting an indoor pool. We ordered turkey schnitzel with fries for the child and a Margherita pizza. The child was happy, even though the fries were about as good as McDonald's. Regarding the pizza, I can say that a frozen pizza from Aldi or Lidl is much better. The pizza was too hard, tasted like cheap tomato pasta, and was baked with almost no mozzarella. (I have an invoice for the lawyer who will write to me and dispute this post.)

Unbeatable quality at fair prices

It's become a tradition for Junior and I to break up our visit to the indoor wave pool with a lunch break in the restaurant. Very good food, at a very fair price. The portions are generous and absolutely sufficient. Pizza, fries, currywurst, salads, etc. are all there. The ice cream is also attractively presented. You can visit the restaurant from the outside as an external customer or, like us, directly from the wave pool. However, you might be overlooked for a while. But it's not a problem. Everything was great. Very friendly staff! We'll be back anyway 😉

Today, after visiting the swimming pool, we went to the Welle and can only give it a star rating. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. We were expecting a swimming pool with kiosk food and were totally surprised; everything from the food to the service was top-notch. Since my husband is dependent on a walker, I'd also like to mention the wheelchair-accessible restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Sorry 60 euros for meat which is absolutely tough. Fries that are soggy. Cordon Bleu was ok. But, a sauce that is offered as a roast and mushroom sauce and that tastes absolutely the same, underground. 7 p.m. pickup time was not met, beer was offered and then I still had to pay. Absolute impudence

Great food. If you are suspected of entering a swimming pool flophouse, you will find a very nice restaurant with very high quality food. Really fantastic in that respect and quick food delivery too. What didn't convince me so much was "the" waiter. When I read the reviews, they will probably always mean the “one”. At the same time, other customers had complained about his behavior at the counter. When I asked if he could maybe close the door because it was so drafty, he yelled at us. I just want to make it clear: I am a guest there and not a supplicant or the temporary worker on the construction site. He wasn't particularly emphatic, even though objectively he certainly does his job well. Even though the food was good, I probably won't come back. You can get the best food there, but if the staff creates an atmosphere like a military canteen, I'm just not up for it.

Variable service, but extremely good food. Pleasant atmosphere with a view of the wave pool. Today I was VERY disappointed with the service. I had announced about a week in advance that I would be coming to my 60th birthday with some family members. NOTHING was prepared. I would have expected at least supplies and napkins. I didn't say anything, but then the waiter shouted at the guests and was also rude when ordering, because my daughter asked if she could order the food for the small children at the same time. I'm noticeably disappointed, I'll probably have to look for a different location for a family celebration if you're not welcome... it's a shame, it's a shame 😥
