Idyllic spot with a fantastic view over Ruhpolding. We've been there twice and the food was delicious, with very friendly and welcoming staff. Reservations are recommended in good weather.

A bitter disappointment Anyone who has made the walk from Ruhpolding's town center doesn't expect to be turned away. Arriving around 5:45 p.m., the lady told me that she could only serve guests who had pre-booked until 8:00 p.m. She didn't ask how many people we were. There were only two of us. And that was despite the fact that the dining room was empty at the time and the outdoor area was about 50% full. I can't say whether that was the limit. So, disappointed, we made our way back without being able to enjoy the "hospitality" there. The "Welcome" sign at the crossroads takes on a whole new meaning. Be sure to call ahead and ask if you're really welcome there!

Great view of the whole of Ruhpolding from the terrace. The service was very friendly and quick, despite the restaurant being full. The food was very tasty and the portions were more than adequate. Highly recommended.

The food (roast pork and Kaiserschmarrn) was delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. The view was beautiful, which is why we love restaurants that are a bit off the beaten track yet central.

The food is great, including a scavenger hunt without breading, attentive service, and a fantastic view of Ruhpolding. You should walk there, so you'll be able to work off the food.

The food was really good and the view simply stunning. Unfortunately, the staff completely ruined the positive impression, especially the lady with the tattoos who should seriously consider whether the restaurant industry is the right career for her. There was no friendliness at all. It's a shame, because the location and the food really deserve five stars.

We arrived at the restaurant around 5:00 p.m. About three-quarters of the tables on the terrace were free. We were very rudely informed that all the tables were reserved (I've never experienced having to make reservations at an alpine pasture, and I don't think that's the point of an alpine pasture) and that we could only sit inside (without the view, which is what you climb up there for), albeit at a reserved table. When we left around 5:30 p.m., all the seats outside were still free. Overall verdict: great food, less so service. We won't be coming back.

Today was our second time there. The first time we were there a few years ago, the staff were rude. Today, the waitress wasn't rude, but incredibly rude. We ordered a children's schnitzel with spaetzle, but we got it with fries. We reported this to the waitress, and they brought the spaetzle later. When we went to pay, the absolute outrage was that we had to pay €6.50 for the spaetzle. We politely pointed this out to the waitress, and she said she wasn't sure if we had actually ordered spaetzle, so we had to pay for both fries and spaetzle. Are you serious? We're sure we ordered spaetzle. I'm a hotel manager myself, and my boss would be completely outraged if I treated guests like that.

The view and the food were fantastic. The drive up was challenging, with traffic against the hill, but it worked out.

We were there for lunch. The food was good, the service was very good, and our dog was welcome. They even brought a bowl of water right away. The beer garden has a lovely view. We would come again.

The food, service, ambiance, and view are perfect. I highly recommend everyone to eat here. A salad would go well with the roast beef with onions, in my opinion.

The staff is well-trained and accustomed to dealing with large crowds. Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner during the season. The view from the terrace is beautiful. Traditional dishes with vegetarian options are offered. The food was delicious, and my 2-year-old companion's somewhat unusual dietary requests were even exceeded. ;) P.S.: the gravy is to die for! For us, a successful lunch with a view.

We visited on a Sunday evening. It was very busy, and the waiters were correspondingly stressed. It took a while to be served, but that wasn't a problem for us. When the food arrived, we were thrilled! Everything was absolutely delicious. We'd love to come back!

Everything is simply recommended. We arrived after 7:30 p.m. without a reservation, which wasn't a problem at all. I'd love to highlight something, but whether it's the service, the food, or that AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL view... Everything is worthy of 5 stars and worth a visit (or several).

We found the place very pretty and the food relatively good. However, we arrived at 8:55 pm for an 8:45 pm reservation. I should point out that reservations were open until 9 pm. When we arrived, we were argued about our lateness. We were told that the kitchens closed at 9 pm (in which case why can we reserve until 9 pm?). We had to choose our dishes in 30 seconds. Suffice to say, we didn't take advantage of it. The waiter relaxed a little after our apologies and the atmosphere was better. Just know that in France, the norm is to respect the "quarter of an hour of politeness" and that we are used to not being perfectly on time... It's cultural. In Germany, apparently being on time means already being late... We weren't aware of that... Too bad, Bavaria is a very beautiful region but beware of the welcome which is not always warm.

Absolutely fantastic place, we'd love to come back. We had three different dishes and we were all extremely satisfied with the taste, quantity, and value for money. The staff were super friendly; we called at very short notice and asked for a table. We were able to get one, even if it wasn't long enough, as the place was actually full, but it worked out, and we were very grateful that it worked out. We immediately made another reservation for Monday because they have a small menu with delicious food at great prices.

The best celery schnitzel I've ever eaten! It's made with love! Great service, wonderful view! Reservations are a must in the evening, but you can easily get a table for shorter time slots in the afternoon!

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good idea, even though it was highly recommended by several people. We simply included the visit in our vacation. We would have liked to have chosen a different location, but that wasn't possible, even though there were still a few spaces available. Our meal wasn't exactly recommendable. My husband's schnitzel with mushrooms in a very runny sauce was a shame, because the view was fantastic.

All in all, a wonderful evening with a wonderful atmosphere...I'd love to go again.

Full marks! A wonderful alpine hut with a fantastic view, very friendly and attentive staff, and delicious food. The caramelized Kaiserschmarrn is very, very good. We felt welcome and enjoyed our time.

The portion was much too small. Despite sharing the Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes), we left still hungry. The icing on the cake was an inappropriate comment about the tip that was given, which supposedly goes to the boss. We won't be back.

We spontaneously stopped by this restaurant for dinner after our arrival. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the very next day. We were very impressed by the ambiance and the service. The young man who served and looked after us was simply outstanding. You can clearly tell he loves his job. Also, a big thank you to the chef; the food was very good and prepared with great attention to detail. A definite recommendation, and we'll be happy to come back. A huge thank you, and see you soon. Beautiful there is nothing more to say

First row, about 10 tables for four with a view of Ruhpolding are free. I was there alone at 4:30 p.m. and said I just wanted a drink. I was shown to a table in the third row with no view of the town; it's worth making the trip for that view. The first row is reserved for guests having dinner. Of course, dinner is at 4:30 p.m. I even offered to get up then if guests arrived. By the time they had walked up, the beer would have been drunk. I left thirsty.

Surely the food must be very good, it smells good and there are many customers. Unfortunately we have already been warned that the waiter is rude, and that is what it was, the restaurant was full and we did not have a reservation. It was half past six and he told us that he could not give us dinner until eight, but he did not even stop to serve himself and did not invite us to sit and wait while having something to drink and seeing the views. He told us to come back later. We told him that we had walked up but that we could wait. Finally we left without being served. He certainly has good food, good views but bad manners.

A wonderful place to linger, both in winter on New Year's Eve and in midsummer. Great food, great service—we'd gladly return.

After reading all the good reviews, we went to this restaurant. The staff was really quick and hard-working. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food. The cheese spaetzle was, unfortunately, very creamy. The cream schnitzel was very tasteless. Unfortunately, we wouldn't go back.

We visited the restaurant based on the excellent Google reviews. The location and service were good. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the food. The Käsespatzn (cheese spaetzle) were far too creamy. The side salad was practically drenched in beetroot juice, so much so that the salad was floating in the bowl. The taste of the food was below average. The passion fruit juice spritzer was full of juice sediment. We wouldn't recommend the restaurant based on the food.

An absolute recommendation for truly good food. Everything tasted delicious, and the view of the mountains and valley is magnificent. We had an incredibly tender lumberjack steak with crispy fried potatoes and a cordon bleu with the best potato and cucumber salad we've ever had.

Update: We've been to the Brandler Alm several times now and can once again say that the roast pork here is the best I've ever eaten. The other dishes are also top-notch. But the Kaiserschmarrn takes the cake. Add to that the excellent team, very friendly and accommodating, and always ready for a chat. The Alm is surrounded by a fabulous view that is second to none. A visit is a must. A superb Alm with very, very good food, a beautiful view, and very friendly and young staff. I had a pork roast that was a dream. The chef is also young and super friendly. You should make a reservation. We'll be back.

Tolles Restaurant, super leckeres Essen und sehr nette Bedienungen. Wir sind auf gut Glück hingefahren und konnten einen Platz für 2 Personen ergattern. Vorher reservieren macht jedoch aufjedenfall Sinn. Die Aussicht von dort ist ebenfalls super.

We ate at the Brandler Alm today. After the good reviews, we were really looking forward to the meal there! We had the schnitzel with fries, which was rather average. The goulash of the day was a bit stringy and rather lumpy, with a lot of sauce on the plate. We also had a Coke and an apple juice spritzer. The whole thing came to €48.00. Not good value for money for the price.

We made a reservation online without any problems. A table for three people was available at the specified time. Bringing our dog was no problem. All the dishes were delicious. The wonderful view made the visit perfect! We highly recommend the Brandler Alm!

We came across this restaurant by chance via Google Maps. With a spontaneous reservation online, which worked really well, we had a lovely time in the restaurant. The service was very friendly and the food was put on the table promptly. If we go on vacation here again, we'll be happy to come back.
