A beautifully situated and well-maintained mountain inn! We've been guests here for seven years in a row, staying in various holiday apartments. All the apartments are simply fantastic and have a beautiful view. The food in the restaurant leaves nothing to be desired, and the staff is very friendly. The knuckle of pork is delicious, with a crispy crust! We highly recommend the Berggasthof Weingarten!

The closest you can be to the feeling of being at home and totally comfortable!! Nothing overly fancy about the place, mind you, for those looking for glitz and glamour! On the other hand, if heavenly views, simple good food and warm hospitality, the kind - as I have said earlier also - that makes you feel at home, it is the 'perfekt' choice in the area!! So much peace and quiet as you want or can absorb! My first choice, always!!

Sehr bemühtes und freundliches Personal. Die Aussicht von der Terasse ist unbezahlbar. Das gut bürgerliche Essen ist hervorragend. Suppe mit selbstgemachten Leberspätzle. Gulasch von eigenen Rindern. Das Vanilleeis zu den leckeren Apfelküchle ist sehr cremig. Dazu einen guten Zweigelt und einen Schnaps von "Prinz". Was will man mehr.

New review 2025: This time we were guests at the mountain inn again and had pre-ordered two knuckle of pork and a table a week in advance. When we arrived at the mountain inn, we were met with a bitter and sad surprise. There was no reservation in our name. The waitress also didn't know about the two pre-ordered knuckles and said that the knuckle was already sold out, or rather, that it had been pre-ordered four times and that no more could be ordered... As you can read from other reviews here, this seems to be a fairly regular occurrence. The waitress was also able to confirm this, saying that reservations are often lost by the boss when he accepts them, as in our case. In terms of customer loyalty and also for one's own business, this is an absolute no-go. You can only feel sorry for the waitress, because it's not her fault that her boss is sloppy. It's also very weak that, apart from an apology from the manager, there was no compensation offered as a gesture of goodwill, such as a partial bill waiver or drinks on the house. That would be appropriate in an inn with an understanding of good service. Last but not least, I also wonder why the knuckle of pork is even on the regular menu if you can't actually get it as a regular guest without pre-ordering. A small downside: The substitute roast pork was extremely delicious – I've rarely had such a good meal. Nevertheless: Such a mistake cannot and must not happen. Especially when, as it seems, it occurs very regularly. And if it does, I expect more consideration than just a verbal apology. This was our last visit to the Weingarten. The 2019 rating is therefore now being adjusted to 1 star. Review from 2019: Fantastic food (the best knuckle of pork in Bavaria), fair prices, friendly service, wonderful view, and clean and nice restrooms, also well signposted.

A week in advance, we called to reserve a table and serve the knuckle of pork. What was served? No table reservation, no knuckle of pork.

Great location, beautiful hotel, well-furnished rooms with exceptions. Plenty of parking. No card payments, no music, windows without insect screens, skylights that don't open, poor Wi-Fi, breakfast every time. Leaving room 11, you're three steps in the dark (risk of accident). Rooms are accessible to everyone from the outside (door handle). Cleaning staff knock briefly and then immediately enter the room. The food was mediocre for us. The restaurant is closed Monday-Tuesday, so it's more expensive. Price for Monday-Tuesday is the same, though. Accommodation: 3 nights in 2 economy double rooms: €660.00. In our opinion, Aperol Spritz is a ready-made mix, the waitress confirmed. We found the ventilation in the bathroom to be non-functional; when asked, it was very quiet and we were told to hold a piece of paper against it. The notice regarding waste separation is ineffective; there are no waste separation containers available. However, the garbage truck parks with its hatch open directly under the window. (But the guys deserve a coffee.)

We were here as holiday guests and had a very nice time! Very friendly family business, fantastic location, good tips from the host about ski school etc. for the children. We would love to come back!

Great service, delicious food, fantastic view

Great accommodation with warm hosts and delicious, home-style cuisine. We had two spacious rooms with newly renovated bathrooms in the main building. The breakfast buffet was completely sufficient and in the evening there was something for every taste. Regarding celiac disease: gluten-free rolls for breakfast were also no problem. In the evening, some of the dishes were adjusted a little, so there were enough gluten-free options for my wife. It was around 20 minutes by car to the Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte ski area. All in all, we felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

They still exist! The restaurants with incredibly good and hearty Bavarian cuisine! The food was incredibly good, whether it was roast, homemade(!) spaetzle or dumplings...and the prices were right. The service is on point and friendly. After several failures in Ruhpolding, we finally found our new local restaurant. No shikimiki and frills. Simply good food!

This time we were only there to eat (pork knuckle, etc.), which was again very tasty, but the rooms and holiday apartments are also very nice. Due to demand, we'll definitely be able to stay overnight here again!

Good food but still cannot believe in 2024 there are places dont accept credit cards. We were lucky we had friends with cash on them, we got to know about no cards only when we had to pay. They said it was mentioned on menu,but it was written sooo small..come on leave the middle age

We were only there to eat, very friendly staff. The food was absolutely amazing, very, very tasty food. The only negative point is that it is not obvious that you cannot pay by card, it is stated in the menu at the bottom of the first page. Can highly recommend it and would love to come back.

For us, it was the first time in Ruhpolding and the first time in the Gasthaus Weingarten - a clear recommendation! About the location: we were there in the evening, but even in the dark you could already see what a fantastic view you have from the inn or the beer garden. We had the Wiener Schnitzel (which was actually two) & the pork fillet, both high quality and super tasty! I would like to highlight the wait staff, who were also very friendly and made sure that all guests didn't miss anything. As a little treat, we were lucky that the local traditional costume club had a meeting that was accompanied by typical Bavarian tavern music. An all-round successful evening that once again showed why we live in the most beautiful state in the republic.

Guys, I can tell you that we can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The knuckles are absolutely amazing! The Swiss schnitzel is a poem!!! The prices are absolutely fair and the service is outstanding!! A little note: order the knuckle in advance by phone and a place in the restaurant. You won't be disappointed!!

Nice restaurant with good food and extremely attentive service staff. Unfortunately, our drinks didn't arrive until after the meal and the side dishes (fries and fried potatoes) were unfortunately cold. This was changed immediately after a small complaint and we received new inserts. However, “our” waitress made up for it with outstanding service and the children received a scoop of ice cream as compensation! The view from the terrace and the small playground is of course more than just great! That makes the experience even better! All in all, really a recommendation! The only real drawback is that you can't pay by card! Neither EC nor credit card! This is also on the first page of the menu, but also rather inconspicuously!

We were guests twice in one weekend because the food was simply delicious. The knuckle and roast pork are to die for. I've never eaten such a crispy crust before. Wow!!! And the view when the weather is nice: simply wonderful. We really enjoyed the visit. We will come back, no question.

Was für ein Service!!! DANKESCHÖN an den Engel mit Auto, der Jungs rettet...

Zu den Zimmern kann ich leider nichts sagen, da wir hier nur gegessen haben. Zum Restaurant: Wow! Was ein super schönes Restaurant. Innen super eingerichtet, reichlich Platz, phänomenales Essen. Waren während unserem Besuch in Ruhpolding sogar zwei Mal hier weil es uns so gut gefallen hat. Super nettes Kellnerteam, aufmerksam, schnell und lustig. Unsere beiden Hunde waren auch sehr willkommen. Kann das Restaurant des Berggasthaus Weingarten uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Die Aussicht ist super und ein kleiner Geheimtipp für Silvester, da man über ganz Ruhpolding gucken kann. Nur die Berg und Talfahrt mit dem Auto ist ein wenig "aufregend".

Sehr zu empfehlen! Das Essen schmeckt einfach hervorragend. Das Service Personal ist super freundlich. Dort ist es sehr gemütlich und der Ausblick von der Terasse über Ruhpolding ist herrlich. Dort fahren wir immer wieder gerne hin.

Ein sehr schön gelegenes Restaurant mit einheimischen leckeren Speisen, das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Aussicht ist grandios, es gibt die Möglichkeit im freien mit Blick auf die wunderschöne Landschaft und auch der Innenbereich ist heimisch eingerichtet. Ein Manko muss ich leider benennen, auf Grund dessen das uns das Essen geschmeckt hat und die Bedienung sehr angenehm war wollten wir zu Weihnachten mit unseren Kindern dort Speisen und einen Tisch für 4 Personen reservieren mit der Bitte einen Tisch im Eckbereich und nicht mittendrin, der Kalender war noch leer, leider konnte man uns diesen nicht verbindlich zusagen...Begründung der Chefin, es muss erst abgewartet werden wieviel Interessenten reservieren mit Personenzahl...da waren wir natürlich sehr enttäuscht 😞 auch war die Aussage nicht sehr freundlich, auch wenn man unter Stress steht sollte man freundlich bleiben denn wir haben höflich und freundlich angefragt Wir verstehen das jeder darauf bedacht ist so wirtschaftlich wie möglich zu sein, grade nach den Corona Jahren....trotzdem sollte es doch möglich sein bei einer Reservierung die Wünsche von Kunden zu berücksichtigen ....Schade

Top geführter Gasthof mit Zimmern/Ferienwohnungen. Sehr nette Gastwirte, sehr saubere und gut ausgestattete Zimmer, in unserem Fall die Wohnung 10, mit großem Balkon, Küche, tollem Essbereich und Wohnzimmer. Alles nagelneu und in top Zustand. Frühstück gut, leicht ausbaufähig. Abends bayerische Standards, alle in top Qualität, teilweise Fleisch von den eigenen Rindern. Hamburger super, Haxe sehr günstig und lecker. Insgesamt gemessen an der Qualität sehr günstige Preise.

Die Haxen sind einfach nur super genau wie die Beilagen. Sehr gemütliches Gasthaus mit sehr schönem Biergarten mitten in der Natur und das Personal super freundlich und sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

@Karin Stockner, Hundeschule "Angekläfft": Weder eine Hundemeute noch ein Zoo haben etwas in einem Berggasthof verloren. Von daher ist jegliche kritische Anmerkung seitens des Personals gerechtfertigt. Hervorragender Wurstsalat, freundliche junge Bedienung und grandioser Blick, dazu vernünftige Preise.

Wir waren dort essen und haben draußen gesessen. Die Aussicht war sehr schön. Das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Die Haxe war leider aus, die probieren wir nächste Woche. Update diesbezüglich folgt. Preis / Leistung stimmt. Bedienung sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Update bzgl. der Haxe: die Haxe kam mit einem Knödel und einem Krautsalat. Das Essen insgesamt hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Ob es nun die beste Haxe in der Umgebung ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen, aber man macht nichts falsch, wenn man diese bestellt. Auch diesmal: die Dame, welche uns bedient hat, war ausgesprochen freundlich und sehr auf zack 👍🏼

Ein unfassbar schöner und beeindruckender Blick von der Terrasse über Ruhpolding. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich gut, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Muss man gesehen und besucht haben.
