Dicke Paula in Berlin

Visited for dinner today. Roulade with red cabbage and potatoes and Königsberger Klopse - both top class!! Seasoned meat as a starter - also highly recommended! The service is friendly, attentive and always has a quick saying on their lips - simply great! Definitely a big recommendation 💚 We would love to come back when we are in Berlin.

Mega ambience, unbeatable, friendly hostess, delicious, rustic food. Simply feel-good factor 100. We live 550 km away but will definitely come back!!

Hospitality is still very important here. We felt very comfortable and well looked after. Unfortunately, finding a restaurant like this is no longer a given these days. The bosses and staff were very friendly, funny, attentive and open-minded. 🥰 The music in the restaurant is something different and fits this restaurant like a glove. The food was plentiful and extremely tasty and nothing came from a bag, everything was fresh, even the fried potatoes are made here in-house and not taken from a bag from the wholesale market. The homemade salad dressing was also a hit. The cocktails here are also highly recommended 😉 I drank one of the best Virgin Colada's here ❤️ Even the selection of drinks is very good here. The price-performance ratio was very good. Huge portions, you definitely won't leave the restaurant hungry 🥰 The atmosphere was very harmonious, unusually funky and very inviting. Three years ago I was still enthusiastic, but now I'm no longer satisfied - regardless of the current bad PR reports. The service is still good throughout Berlin, but the quality of the food continued to decline, with rising and now unreasonable prices, especially when sometimes not fresh ingredients are used, but rather convenience ingredients. My original rating: Rustic, authentic Berlin cuisine and atmosphere, charming Berlin snout with a lot of humor and tasty food... Always a pleasure and fun!

Bad food and overpriced prices. This is the most expensive restaurant I've seen in Tegel or anywhere at the moment and I like to try out many of them. I was really deceived by all the positive reviews. Who knows how this came about 🤔 You hear a lot. My friends were also served there after this visit. I was really uncomfortable suggesting that. The portions aren't exactly enough to fill you up either. I can only advise everyone to go somewhere else. It couldn't be worse. The whole ambience isn't special either. The boss herself is also very strange and unfriendly. Nice and friendly looks different. So this is another restaurant or bar that you can cross off the list. P.S. Closed since last week due to cockroach infestation. Bz reported big. Paula excused herself with alleged water damage. Funny that the pest controllers were there then. However, following a random tip-off, the food inspectors were there and discovered a cockroach infestation. You can read everything in the BZ and she still denies it. According to former employees, it wasn't the first time that the hygiene there wasn't great and cockroach problems weren't there for the first time. In any case, it's finally been exposed. That doesn't work at all. Worst restaurant in all of Tegel in all respects.

We went to the Berlin evening for the first time. It was a great evening all around. The food was great (huge stuffed cabbage!) and Gina's performance was great. Keep it up! We'll definitely come by again.

THE Berlin cultural restaurant in Berlin Tegel. Absolutely great.

Dieses Lokal kann ich nur empfehlen. Eine absolut freundliche Bedienung. Gemütliches Ambiente, sehr gepflegt und sauber. Sehr gute deutsche Küche, die mit der Bezeichnung "So gut wie bei Mutter" durchaus berechtigt ist. Hier wird garantiert jeder satt. Die Qualität des Essens ist hervorragend. Von diesem Restaurant wird und kann man nur begeistert sein.

Berliner Gasthaus - I don't specifically write restaurant because it is simply an original! Very tasty food, original ambience with lots of small details that just fit, super nice service and of course Gina as the on-site boss. Will be back soon!

It was just great, we were there for Christmas dinner and the evening menu was accompanied by live music (our own songs) depending on the occasion. The whole atmosphere was great. Delicious food a la carte.

Arrived on a rainy Christmas evening to much Christmas cheer, hearty food and cozy interiors. Definitely a place with character and charm. The portions are big so beware. Two of us could share an extra large portion of spare ribs comfortably. Also enjoyed the kalter Hund (cold dog) dessert. Had live music from Craig Lee on the night we went. Was very enjoyable and a nice atmosphere.

We ordered a goose and additional parts, dumplings, kale, red cabbage and sauce for a family Christmas dinner for 6 people. Everything was just perfect: - delivered on time - There's always enough of everything, even more than enough sauce - very very very tasty no matter whether goose or cabbage - unbeatable in terms of price So for us it's clear that next year we'll have roast goose from Fat Paula again on Christmas Eve. Everything was great, the food was great, only the family was a bit crowded because of the sound legs we all have, but all 5 found the food really great!!!

Yesterday I was there with my family for Christmas dinner. Since we were at this event last year and enjoyed it so much, we really wanted to come this year too. After last year there was a nice family atmosphere with a friendly host present, I ask what happened? The place was crowded, you felt like a sardine in a can, the music was way too loud for this small space and the quality of the food? Oh well. Why can't you just create a sheet yourself for an event like this with the dishes that are included in the price, make sure you are presented with the entire menu and told what isn't possible? And honestly, a meatball as a starter? Many people don't like meat. Last year I was able to choose from two soup options, but this time I didn't even know what kind of soup it was. Just very disappointed and a shame for the money!!!!!!

Very iconic ambience with great pictures, sayings and knick-knacks on the walls. There is something to see everywhere. The service was great and dealt with complaints straight away. The food was great. The portions were huge and the prices were completely reasonable! We will definitely look for the way to Fat Paula again.

We found out about “Big Paula” through a series by Steffen Hennsler and reserved a table. The service is extremely nice, drinks and food came quickly and tasted good too! Next time I visit Berlin, I'll be happy to come back ;)

Authentische Berliner Gastro Kneipe mit einer Küche die sich nirgendwo verstecken muss. Vom Life Abend bis hin zum gemütlichen beisammen sein immer die richtige Adresse. Wer etwas mit Berliner Original anfangen kann und der dazu gehörigen Schnauze wird sich hier verlieben !

There were five of us, we all had something different to eat and we were all very satisfied. Both the main course - huge portions, red cabbage and homemade dumplings - as well as the soup and the dessert, we all raved about it. The service was impeccable and as native Berliners, we also think the manager of the house is a great person; the Berlin snout is still sitting where she should be, namely in the right place. We'll definitely come back again.

Wir waren zu fünft, alle hatten etwas anderes zum Essen und wir alle waren sehr zufrieden. Sowohl das Hauptgericht -riesige Portionen, Rotkohl und Klöße selber gemacht- , als auch die Suppe und der Nachtisch, wor haben alle davon geschwärmt. Der Service war einwandfrei und als Urberliner fanden wir auch die Chefin des Hauses einsamme spitze, da sitzt die Berliner Schnautze noch, wo sie auch sitzen soll. Wir kommen auf jedenfall mal wieder.

The food (beef roulade) was great. Jerosse portion. Only the volume was increased a bit. And it was a bit tight. I'll definitely come by sometime to snab.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Dicke Paula today and I have to say, I had a really good time there. As a Berlin brat, the landlady immediately took me to my roots. We were well looked after with wit, charm and the typical Berlin dialect. The portions were large, the cocoa was sweet and the hazelnut liqueur drove away the last bit of cold in your bones.

The second time and it was awesome again. The fishermen love the atmosphere and the way you celebrate with us. Only the best for the future, until next time🍻👍🏻❤️

Great German cuisine.. always a pleasure

We've been there more often now...eaten beef roulades, veal schnitzel and whole. Everything is simply excellent. Huge portions that really fill everyone. I have never experienced such great staff like there. Strives to please everyone. I don't know of a better restaurant with German home cooking in all of Berlin and the surrounding area!

Me and my wife we ​​loved. The women there are so friendly and you eat real German food.

Bis 2023 nettes Lokal mit anständiger Hausmannskost zu fairen Preisen. Essen ist immer noch ok, aber völlig überteuert! Bedienung sehr nett!! Die Wirtin unfreundlich und blasiert!! Die wenigen Plätze sollen anscheinend mit den gepfefferten Preisen ausgeglichen werden. Ist jetzt ein Touristenbumms, auf Gäste aus dem Kiez wird kein Wert mehr gelegt.

Berlin's highlights? The Tim Burton exhibition, Lake Tegel and of course: fat Paula. You don't know Berlin if you haven't been to the fat Paula. I love this little restaurant. An incredibly friendly team, really delicious food and a great ambience. The prices are also great, they fit even in a small wallet

Even though we are from the north of Berlin, it was our first time eating here and it won't be the last time. There were seven of us and everyone really enjoyed the food. Good home cooking...sometimes food a little too cold. Unfortunately I have to take back my review. Shops are only interested in money, but friendliness falls by the wayside if you have something to complain about. Dogs used to be welcome, but now suddenly they are no longer welcome. We had specially ordered a schnitzel at asparagus time and were then allowed to pay for two dishes. When we noticed this the next day and asked nicely, we were ignored. That was just the beginning of several incidents. It's a shame, it was always nice but the store won't see us again

100 stars – Fat Paula, that was really a blast! Yesterday we were at Fat Paula's for the first time - and what should I say? This was truly one of the hottest culinary surprises we've ever had! Actually, we only got there by chance, but the name and the top reviews made us curious - and honestly, they didn't promise too much! The shop is simply quaint and quirky, full of lovely little things that conjure up a really cozy atmosphere. But the real highlight is the fat Paula herself! Although she was hoarse and could hardly say anything, she rang the bell the whole evening with her warmth and wit. Her presence alone made the evening a real highlight. And then the food – simply bomb! You can really taste that every dish here is made with love. And as if that wasn't already good, I got another Königsberger Klops for free to try - that was really great! And Fat Paula’s colleagues? Simply awesome! Warm, funny and always smiling – we always felt like we were visiting friends. The service was attentive and warm, just made you feel good. In the end I left a tip of 10 euros - and that rarely happens for me! But here, with so much warmth and authenticity, it was really worth every penny. We'll definitely be back! Fat Paula and her team already have a permanent place in our hearts - so much warmth and Berlin snout, you can't find it everywhere. Absolute recommendation!
