Wonderful food in a wonderful atmosphere! There were 6 adults with a baby there and we were welcomed with a lot of warmth. I hope we will have the opportunity to come back again.

About 25 seats inside. But also many outside. Great service. Great food.

Absolute recommendation: Even as a vegetarian you feel very well looked after here. The potato gratin is really delicious and the service is very friendly, fast and courteous. My dog ​​was immediately offered water. My absolute favorite restaurant in Mittenwald. When the weather is nice you have a view of the mountains and the beautiful houses outside.

Today, after my trip to the Leutascher Geistglamm, I had lunch in the restaurant "Der kleine potatosack" and I have to say that I was completely impressed by both the food and the price-performance ratio. You can't imagine anything better, especially with the venison goulash for €19.80. I'm on vacation but it definitely won't be my last visit.

We each had an apple strudel with vanilla sauce and a coffee. Both were very tasty and homemade. The atmosphere is really nice, the staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable.

We were thrilled on vacation last year. And this week we were here twice again and it was perfect. Friendly people serve delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Johanna immer ruhig, freundlich, humorvoll - auch wenn das Lokal bzw die Terrasse rappelvoll sind. Und mit Überblick! Johann in der winzigen Küche in seinem Element, Dank guter Vorbereitung klappt es für uns oft fast zu schnell :-) Und doch ist alles megafrisch. Einfach lecker! Und irgendwo dazwischen hat bei den beiden irgendwie die Familie Platz. Chapeau!

A wonderful place! We stopped after a hike and were promptly served at an outside table. The cream of potato soup with smoked salmon and the au gratin with bacon and onion were delicious. Highly recommend!

We were in the little potato sack several times and were more than satisfied. The small rustic restaurant enchants with its charm, excellent cuisine and of course the great personal service. From vegan to meat-based, everything is represented and labeled on the menu. Regional classics such as game goulash are prepared exceptionally well. The highlight: Since we had reserved for the next day, an extra surprise was prepared for my vegan friend. Thanks alot!

We are currently on vacation in Mittenwald. Since I eat a purely vegan diet, I quickly chose this restaurant. The menu shows quickly and clearly which dishes are vegan. Perfect! We were warmly welcomed and the service was really attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy, we feel comfortable here. We are thrilled with the food. Very tasty and the prices are fair. Wir sind schon seit der Übernahme des kleinen Kartoffelsacks von Johann und Johanna hier Stammgäste und können nur ein ganz großes Kompliment hier lassen. Eine auf das Lokal und seine Gäste ausgerichtete Speisekarte ergänzt mit Tagesgerichten, einem freundlichen und netten Service, einem Koch der sein Handwerk versteht, und das bei einem ausgewogenen Preisverhältnis, was will man als Gast mehr. Von mir eine 100% Empfehlung.

Nice little restaurant with rustic, straightforward cuisine. It's not fancy, but it just tastes good. Service was friendly, the location right in the small town center is great. The prices are absolutely fair. A great location for an uncomplicated hunger.

We had a great dinner! We had gulasch (very nice), schnitzel (wow), gratin with salmon (top), gratin with vegetables (our least favourite but only because the others were very good). The service was perfect and they were very friendly :)

Heerlijk gegeten en voldoende keuze.. Je moet hier wel op tijd zijn want voor buiten reserveren kan niet. In de zomer moet je hier niet binnen zitten. Wij hadden daarvoor gereserveerd en gelukkig kwam er al snel een plekje vrij buiten.

Our little insider tip in Mittenwald. It's super comfortable inside. 5 small tables and you basically sit in the kitchen. The owner cooks alone and is super friendly and attentive despite the stress.

We ate there on the terrace today and it was fantastic. We had the turkey steak with potato gratin and the game goulash with spaetzle. Everything was perfect! Greetings to the chef at this point. A very nice young woman served us. Afterwards we treated ourselves to dessert... buttermilk mousse with strawberries and lime.

Food just great. The whole menu up and down. Unfortunately, the dining room is a bit small, so you have to be lucky to get a table without a reservation, as the restaurant is an insider tip.

There were two of us in “The Little Potato Sack”. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. I had a large salad plate. There were fresh and varied leaf salads, but the rest wasn't so fresh: corn, carrot salad, coleslaw - all canned. I found this to be completely overpriced for €12.99! And the taste was disappointing too! Afterwards I had a vegetable gratin. The vegetables were al dente, but only a frozen product. Taste OK. It's a shame when you have to pay so much money for it and the quality is so poor! By the way, there were countless flies on the ceiling of the bar area. It is very unhygienic and something urgently needs to be remedied.

Clear recommendation for delicious food. I can highly recommend the venison goulash with spaetzle and cranberries. The portion is generous and the price is completely reasonable. The oven potatoes with various toppings are also recommended. The only downside is that no card payment is possible. You just have to know.

Today is our last evening in Mittenwald. Where can we go and eat something good? We decided on the small potato sack. What a good decision. The weather was great so we ate outside. In a warm breeze in the pedestrian zone with a view of the pretty little houses, we ordered a potato gratin with onions and bacon. What a taste experience. We received friendly and competent service. The accompanying drinks, wine and beer, were also great. The quality of the food in the relatively small kitchen is impressive. We will be back!

We ordered Mittenwalder schnitzel and goulash from the local game. The schnitzel is very delicious, but the potato is overcooked and tasted bitter. I highly recommend it! But the goulash is not that good… it is super dry… and unfortunately, they is indeed prepared in microwave in their small kitchen, I have to say that the flavor is much better than what you can expect from the microwave. We also tried Mittenwald beer, very good! Maybe because we speak English, so the service was not that good. Atmosphere was okay, just tables were too crowded. But it is cozy.

Visiting Mittenwald for the first time and found this lovely restaurant. Food is spectacular with nice service!

The mittenwald schnitzel is more of a pork fillet with cheese and tomato, it's strayed so far from a schnitzel I don't think it's in the same category. Having said that it is a nice surprise balancing tangy and cheese. The coffee and hot chocolate were kinda light so there's room for improvement. The goulash was typical and about what you'd expect to get.

Very good potato gratin. The combination with smoked salmon is super delicious. Rump steak is also a culinary delight when combined with gratin!

After a while I ate again in the small potato sack. It is always admirable how the delicacies are conjured up in the small kitchen. You should try the top quality steak and the homemade lemonade. The location does not have a high ranking on Google. The food is very simple and not sophisticated - as a completely novice cook without experience or taste would prepare. The service was pleasant, everything is good here. But overall it's not above 3 stars. We won't come again.

Little insider tip! We have been happy to stop by for many years and enjoy wonderfully delicious potato dishes in a cozy atmosphere. All dishes impress with their freshness and absolute deliciousness. There is also an extensive selection of drinks - both in summer and winter. The small restaurant is very cozy. Just drop by, enjoy the good cuisine or simply a schnapps - cheers to the cosiness!

Ресторан типично немецкий, для настоящих любителей картошки. Маленький но очень удачный ассортимент, представленный почти целиком из картофельных блюд. Цены низкие, в 30 евро обойдется стакан пива, десерт и собственно основное блюдо. Не понимаю негодований мол еда с микроволновки и т.п... нам готовили еду минут 20, и вкус был явно свежим и нам как любителям картофеля очень зашло) Рекомендую. Один нюанс, без брони сюда не попасть, место маленькое и по сути тут всего 4 стола, всегда занятые, поэтому просто так с улицы не зайти - заказывайте за неделю заранее.

Schönes kleines Lokal im Obermarkt und mit Aussenplätzen. Hervorragendes Essen und super nette Wirtsleute und Servicekraft.

Es ist eine sehr kleine Gaststätte die sehr eng ist. Dort stehen nur 5 Tische (3 mal 2 Plätze sowie 2 mal 6 Plätze) Reservierung muss sein! Das Personal ist super nett und das Essen sehr lecker.

We found this place during our hiking trip around the Zugspitze. It’s really good food. We had the Gratin, one with turkey meat and one vegetarian with vegetables. It was hot, delicious and not too salty. Also the service was amazing. If we ever visit Mittenwald again, we will come back. Thanks a lot for the lovely dinner!

Unser Standardredtaurant für Mittwochs. Gerichte werden zügig serviert und sind lecker. Wenn man draußen sitzt hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Obermarkt. Drinnen ist es sehr beengt mit nur wenigen Sitzplätzen.

Servus, wir waren heute vor Ort zum Mittagessen. Wir können alles nur Loben, das Essen war Spitze, Überbackenes Schnitzel, Ofenkartoffel mit Lachs und Kartoffelsuppe. Liebevoll angerichtet bis ins kleinste Detail,die Suppe war ein Traum. Inhaberin "Kellnerin" super nett und Aufmerksam. Gott sei Dank bietet ihr keinen Lieferservice an sonst würde mein Mann Täglich die Suppe bestellen Es lohnt sich sehr und ein großes Dankeschön für die nette Zeit bei euch.

Toller Service. Die Himbeer-Rosmarin-Limo hat begeistert, genauso wie das Essen!

Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich. Die Portionen waren reichlich und lecker. Es gab leider keine Kinderkarte, wir sind dennoch fündig geworden.

My wife, sister-in-law and I were in Mittenwald yesterday, April 19, 2023. Since this is not yet the busy tourist season, not many restaurant choices were available or at least obvious as being open. With a quick Apple Map search we found this wonderful 4.5 star restaurant. As others have mentioned it’s a small 5 table restaurant with kitchen at one end operated by a couple. The chef prepared hot delicious meals. Two of us for ordered potato au gratin, one Bolognese and the other veggie - so delicious! The other dish was schnitzel with potato au gratin also fantastic. The ghoulish soup also best we’ve had. Stop in here to have a meal, you will not be disappointed!

Piccolo locale con tre tavoli da due e due tavoli grandi, molto accogliente con molto legno negli arredi; noi abbiamo preso zuppa di patate, insalata di cavolo cappuccio fresco e le baked potatoes grandi con abbondante salsa, tutto semplicemente delizioso. Gli avventori erano tutti tedeschi. Abbiamo provato il dolce: un’enorme fetta di strudel con crema di vaniglia. Ci torneremo!

Wir waren nur am Nachmittag auf ein paar Getränke im Außenbereich vom Kartoffelsack, aber diese zwei Stündchen hat uns dort gut gefallen. Die Kellnerin war wirklich auf Zack und das Glas war nie lange leer. Dazu immer ein freundliches Lächeln und der Nachmittag war gut.

Wir haben spontan dort zu Abend gegessen. Übersichtliche Karte für jeden Geschmack! Für unsere kleine Tochter wurde extra eine Portion Spätzle gebracht. Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Wir können das Gasthaus empfehlen.

Sehr leckeres, bodenständiges Essen, besonders das Rehgulasch war geschmacklich intensiv, große Auswahl tollen einheimischen Bieres. Gleichermaßen freundliche wie schöne Wirtin. Gemütlicher, sehr kleiner Gastraum. Einfach schön.
