Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Schnitzel und der Hirschgulasch waren gut. Das Restaurant ist klein, aber gemütlich.

Sehr leckeres Essen, wir hatten die Ofenkartoffel mit Lachs und das Kartoffelgratin mit Bolognese.

Aufgrund vieler fliegen sehr nervig. Essen war aber top.

Wir waren heute mit 3 Personen zum Essen dort. Es war super lecker, die Portionen reichlich, Preis-Leistung top, super nette Bedienung. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Ein kleines, gemütliches Lokal mit erstklassigem Service und hervorragender Küche. Die Kartoffeln sind ein Traum. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ein super gemütliches kleines Restaurant mit toller Atmosphäre, freundlichem Personal und köstlichem Essen – einfach zu viel des Guten. Absolut empfehlenswert.

An unserem letzten Abend entdeckten wir dieses gemütliche Lokal zufällig und waren total begeistert! Der Service war erstklassig und das Essen sogar noch besser. Wir hatten Gulasch und Kartoffelgratin mit Bolognese (eine Mischung aus Lasagne und Shepherd's Pie 😋) und einen Beilagensalat. Auf der Speisekarte standen außerdem Kartoffelsuppen, gefüllte Ofenkartoffeln und Fleischgerichte. Wir hatten nicht reserviert, aber das Restaurant füllte sich gegen 19:00/19:30 Uhr schnell. Für ein herzhaftes Essen ist dieses Restaurant absolut empfehlenswert!

Super leckeres Kartoffelgratin. Super netter Service. Kommen gerne wieder.

Man könnte meinen, es handle sich um eine Touristenfalle, aber das ist es nicht. Auch Einheimische kommen gerne hierher, und das Lokal ist auch außerhalb der Saison beliebt. Das Essen ist nicht außergewöhnlich, aber deutsches Essen ist das selten – ich kann nur Gutes darüber berichten. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam. Kreditkarten werden akzeptiert, was nicht selbstverständlich ist.

Wenn man in Mittenwald ist sollte man hier vorbeikommen! Das Essen, das Ambiente, der Service, die Lokalität, einfach wirklich überragend!

Für Familienfeiern eher nicht zu empfehlen, haben uns wenig willkommen gefühlt.

Klein, aber fein. Ich war in das Kartoffelgratin mit Gemüse schockverliebt 😍 Mein Mann hatte das Gratin mit Bolognese und fand diese Kombination, als Kartoffel statt Nudeln mit Bolognesesauce, auch sehr lecker. Wir haben die kleine Portion gewählt (-2,-€) und dafür einen kleinen Beilagensalat dazu. Anschließend waren wir papsatt und zufrieden. Was will man mehr.

Was für gute Ochsenbäckchen waren das denn bitte ?...Alter Falter, die fallen beim Anschauen auseinander...dazu diese geile Rotweinsauce ❤...und des sehr leckere K-gratin...Träumchen. Des Helle der Mittenwaldbrauerei auch sehr lecker. Danke

Das Essen ist sehr zu Empfehlen. Wir waren das zweite mal hier. Wir waren letztes Jahr an Ostern und jetzt. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Kleine Info, der Innenraum ist klein dadurch sollte man vorher Reservieren.

Fünf Sterne reichen nicht aus. Das Essen ist fantastisch! Es ist ein kleines, gemütliches Lokal. Drinnen gibt es nur fünf Tische, wir hatten also Glück, dass einer frei war. Ich kann das Hirschgulasch und die cremige Kartoffelsuppe wärmstens empfehlen – der Geschmack ist einfach himmlisch.

Sehr, sehr lecker alle Speisen, Salat, Ofenkartoffel und Suppe. Der Salat frisch und knackig. Nettes Ambiente, eher schlicht, was ich aber sehr schön finde. Und es ging sehr schnell.

Der Kartoffelgratin mit Pute war hervorragend 👍

Das Essen war köstlich und der Service sehr angenehm.

We spontaneously stopped in for dinner today. We sat outside, which wasn't too noisy despite being in the pedestrian zone. The service was very friendly and asked frequently if everything was okay. The food came super quickly and was delicious. We had baked potatoes with garlic cream (requested a second helping) and turkey gratin. The prices were reasonable, too. Highly recommended! We'll be back.

I think it's hard to find a good restaurant with a really tasty schnitzel. Yet this one can satisfied my taste buds as it's sauce is very rich in flavor. Good consistency of the meat and the potato. Everything just explode and melt in your mouth. And everything with reasonable price. Very recommended and definitely will dine here again.

Little, cozy place which makes it so special when you wish to slow down and have something gorgeous to eat. The town itself is absolutely beautiful, but I never expected I could have potato prepared in such an amazing way 😱. Looking for some local delicious specialities? Couldn’t find a better place! Truly masterpiece, big congratulations to the owners and the staff. I’m really glad we got here with my family. And we could enjoy our meal with our little dog 🐕. Will definitely come during next visit 😉👋.

Google asks: Can you recommend this place? I say: YES! We were in Mittenwald for a short trip. While looking for a good dinner, we came across the little Kartoffelsack. Just because the name is something different. Yes, it's a small restaurant, and yes, it's all about potatoes. We didn't have a reservation, but we were lucky to get a table. My goodness, that was a good meal. Super tasty gratin, and the combination of the meat and the sauce was simply delicious. It's so worth a visit... but definitely make a reservation in advance 😉!!

Finally, we found a truly authentic German restaurant! The food was incredibly tasty — rich in flavor and felt just like a home-cooked meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was genuinely kind and attentive. It seems like a family-run place, which adds to the charm. The space is quite small, with only about six tables, so it did feel a bit stuffy at times. Also, the prices are on the higher side — but to be fair, the quality of the food and service made it worth it. We visited with our little child, and everything was comfortable and family-friendly. A hidden gem for anyone who appreciates authentic German cuisine. Highly recommended!

We had lunch there: turkey steak with baked potatoes and a Mittenwald schnitzel with potato gratin. The starter was Hungarian potato soup. Everything was delicious, and the service was super quick. The service was super friendly and attentive. A small, quaint restaurant, highly recommended.

We stopped here at short notice this evening and were able to eat outside thanks to the great weather. There aren't very many seats outside, so it's even better that there was a table available just for us. We were greeted very friendly and received the card immediately. The food came quickly and tasted excellent. The restaurant is absolutely recommended.

Today we were in the “little potato sack”. The food was very good and the service was friendly :) . The only thing we didn't like was the ambience. By 'dimming' the lights a bit - putting up a few tablecloths and perhaps 'hiding' the view of the counter a bit - that would do a lot. Otherwise it was very nice :)

Absolute recommendation! “Small but nice” simply applies here! It's a pleasure to be a guest here. Unfortunately, you rarely have such friendly service anymore. And the kitchen is just great too! There were five of us and we had different dishes. It was all sooooo delicious. Be sure to reserve a table in the cold season, as there may be no tables outside. It's super cozy. What a great little place; only 5 inside tables make it very cozy. Two-person operation focus on a small menu that focuses on (surprise!!!): potatoes. Had a great cream of potato soup with wieners... something you seldom see these days...and it was super; flavorful and filling. Small salad had greens, corn, cuke and kraut salads. Strudel was as good as any and served warm. Prices are very reasonable. One of the best places in Germany for simple good local food I've eaten at in past 40 years of travelling and working. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered Mittenwalder schnitzel and goulash from the local game. The schnitzel is very delicious, but the potato is overcooked and tasted bitter. I highly recommend it! But the goulash is not that good… it is super dry… and unfortunately, they is indeed prepared in microwave in their small kitchen, I have to say that the flavor is much better than what you can expect from the microwave. We also tried Mittenwald beer, very good! Maybe because we speak English, so the service was not that good. Atmosphere was okay, just tables were too crowded. But it is cozy.

Super small and cozy restaurant. Our dog was also allowed. We ate the game goulash and the turkey steak with gratin. Both were super tasty. Gluten-free wasn't a problem either. We'll definitely be back But I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is small and fills up quickly :)

Absolute recommendation: Even as a vegetarian you feel very well looked after here. The potato gratin is really delicious and the service is very friendly, fast and courteous. My dog ​​was immediately offered water. My absolute favorite restaurant in Mittenwald. When the weather is nice you have a view of the mountains and the beautiful houses outside.

Today, after my trip to the Leutascher Geistglamm, I had lunch in the restaurant "Der kleine potatosack" and I have to say that I was completely impressed by both the food and the price-performance ratio. You can't imagine anything better, especially with the venison goulash for €19.80. I'm on vacation but it definitely won't be my last visit.

Wir kommen jedes Jahr gerne zu Johann und Johanna. Der gemeinsamen Leistung gilt unser vollster Respekt! Johanna immer ruhig, freundlich, humorvoll - auch wenn das Lokal bzw die Terrasse rappelvoll sind. Und mit Überblick! Johann in der winzigen Küche in seinem Element, Dank guter Vorbereitung klappt es für uns oft fast zu schnell :-) Und doch ist alles megafrisch. Einfach lecker! Und irgendwo dazwischen hat bei den beiden irgendwie die Familie Platz. Chapeau!

From vegan to meat-based, everything is represented and labeled on the menu. Regional classics such as game goulash are prepared exceptionally well. We are currently on vacation in Mittenwald. Since I eat a purely vegan diet, I quickly chose this restaurant. The menu shows quickly and clearly which dishes are vegan. Perfect! Wir sind schon seit der Übernahme des kleinen Kartoffelsacks von Johann und Johanna hier Stammgäste und können nur ein ganz großes Kompliment hier lassen. Eine auf das Lokal und seine Gäste ausgerichtete Speisekarte ergänzt mit Tagesgerichten, einem freundlichen und netten Service, einem Koch der sein Handwerk versteht, und das bei einem ausgewogenen Preisverhältnis, was will man als Gast mehr. Von mir eine 100% Empfehlung.

We had a great dinner! We had gulasch (very nice), schnitzel (wow), gratin with salmon (top), gratin with vegetables (our least favourite but only because the others were very good). The service was perfect and they were very friendly :)
