DAS TEGERNSEE in Tegernsee

A beautiful hotel in a prime location! We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed it. The sauna and spa area is very nice. The panoramic sauna with the best view is a dream! The breakfast left nothing to be desired. The service is also great. Haus Tegernsee with a view of Lake Tegernsee is very nice, the rooms are cozy. The houses are connected to each other - the paths to the spa area lead through the houses, making everything easy to reach. The only downside here is that there was no elevator to get from the reception to the room. So the heavy suitcases have to be carried up the stairs. However, there is also help from friendly colleagues here. Parking spaces and underground parking directly at the hotel, there is enough space. We'll definitely be back! I would happily recommend the hotel. If you are looking for relaxation and want to have a great day, Tegernsee is the right place for you.

We went to Sunday brunch on the 1st of Advent and were a bit disappointed that the tables weren't set, neither a tablecloth nor a placemat nor a candle.... It's a shame and it's also part of feeling good.... The room wasn't decorated in Advent style either... The space at the buffet is very tight... The selection was limited but it tasted very tasty... Unfortunately the service wasn't very professional... It's a shame not good advertising for such a beautiful property

A place between heaven and earth describes DAS TEGERNSEE excellently. We spent precious, beautiful days that have a lasting, pleasantly warm aftertaste. THANKS.

Caution from room 611. There is a monotonous noise at night. We couldn't sleep. The reception said that the noise was coming from a tunnel next to the room, which sounded strange. Puts the whole hotel to shame

The hotel itself is very beautiful with an amazing view of Lake Tegernsee. Everyone was very nice. The wellness area is ok for the price but nothing super special. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. The breakfast was great. But we had a 5-course menu with wine accompaniment and that was really nothing. Everything took a long time and wasn't tasty for the price. The wine wasn't tasty either and often didn't go well with the courses. We ate there years ago, but there was probably another operator in the restaurant. We were thrilled at the time and came with similar expectations. These were not even close to being fulfilled - a shame.

I had dinner as I stayed at das Tegernsee hotel 1. Price was fair and good quality of food ( visited twice ) 2. Kind staff 3. Personally I like a table next window ( not in a main restaurant area where is a off side of area )

Tolle Lage und Kaffee, Kuchen von guter Qualität. Auch die Bedienung war nett und freundlich. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis geht in Ordnung. Toiletten sind sauber, es ist alles vorhanden.

Location und Ausblick wunderschön ist aber leider auch das einzig positive! Vorspeisen geschmacklich einfach nur langweilig und auf Nachfrage was die Saucen dazu sind kam ein liebloses „weiß ich nicht, muss ich selber fragen“. Bei den Hauptspeisen hat dann gar nichts mehr gestimmt. Die Sauce vom Fleisch stand auf dem Teller vom Fisch (hat man erst beim Drüberschütten gemerkt) und eine Beilage hat komplett gefehlt. Anstatt Trüffel Pommes (Beilage zum Filet) wurde uns ein Trüffel Risotto (eignes Gericht) gebracht. Nach dem Hinweis, dass wir das Risotto nicht bestellt haben, kam dann die Verbesserung des Kellners „doch haben Sie“. Wenn man schon so lange braucht, um eine Bestellung aufzunehmen, dann sollte es bitte auch richtig sein. Oder zumindest sollten Fehler eingestanden werden und eine Entschuldigung erfolgen, anstatt den Gast fälschlicherweise zu „korrigieren“. Wasserflasche wurde im Übrigen abgeräumt nachdem sie leer war, eine neue wurde uns weder gebracht noch wurden wir danach gefragt. Auf das Dessert haben wir dann gerne verzichtet. Gefragt wurden wir aber auch danach nicht. Fazit: Gewollt aber nicht gekonnt. Sowohl Essen als auch Service. Schade.

THE TEGERNSEE keeps what it promises! Wonderfully located with a magnificent view over Lake Tegernsee. We were there for the lake festival and were able to enjoy the fireworks from the terrace. All employees were extremely friendly, competent, courteous and helpful! The SPA area is spacious and spread over several floors. In the panoramic sauna and the loungers in front of it you will be treated to a great view. Only the breakfast buffet was set up in a room that was a little too small. You had to keep winding your way past the guests and the service staff. It was definitely too narrow here. Otherwise a clear recommendation!!

What should be emphasized is the professional friendliness of the entire staff. Every wish will be fulfilled. The spa is a dream and is second to none. The bar only thrives on the empathy of the staff. You can sit comfortably on the terrace and look out over Lake Tegernsee. Inside, however, the bar has the charm of an airport lobby. There is a game of table football in the gallery, which completely ruins the cosiness. The hotel specializes in conferences, which in my opinion doesn't go well with holidaymakers. Conference guests often stand together in larger groups, which causes increased noise levels. People are constantly talking loudly through the headset, which further disrupts the peace and quiet. We had a suite directly above the entrance to the hotel, which felt like it was noisy for 24 hours. Cars driving by, taxis with their engines running, smokers in front of the hotel, conversations late into the night in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, it wasn't a relaxing vacation. Since the hotel was fully booked, we could not be offered an alternative.

Insanely great hotel, great sauna area, very nice and courteous staff. We will be back.

A great hotel in a great location with perfect views!

I made reservations for a block of of 11 rooms on January 6, 2024. That block of rooms went down to 6 rooms and Das Tegernsee had issues accommodating my group of 6 for a special moment. I normally would not have issues with most items I am listing, but I think 6 months advanced notice is plenty of time to figure out the logistics of accommodating 6 couples, especially for a German hotel. First, the hotel paired some of the couples at different times for their massage instead of close together or at the same time. Second, they tried to accommodate one of the couples by offering a 6PM massage when it directly conflicts with a 6:30PM dinner booked at Das Tegernsee’s restaurant for the group through the hotel. This might be picky but If a hotel is given 1/2 a year notice, and all rooms that are booked are the same category level and in the same area, then it makes sense to block rooms at a higher floor where the views are nicer and not the first floor. Again, this comes from the perspective of someone that booked far in advanced, is a repeat customer, and has booked a luxury/premium hotel in a country where planning and punctuality is held to a high standard. If I knew Das Tegernsee would fall short as they certainly have, I would have booked at Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt where I know they can handle a party of 12 properly.

We booked a suite with view on the lake but a roof disturbed the view, we reservated already 9/2023. There was also a bad smell in the toilet. We booked an expensieve room but are very disoppointed. On the reception they promised a compensation but we payed at the end the full balance. The service and food in the Senger restaurant was very good

Attention: Some rooms promise a lake view, but that is probably a creative interpretation. We booked a suite, but instead of the lake view we were hoping for, there was only a captivating rooftop view. Perhaps the hotel is better suited to roofers than sea lovers!

We spent a few days in Das Tegernsee and had many wonderful moments there. The food tastes very good (only order the steak in English if you like it medium rare), the view is wonderful and you can do anything you want at Tegernsee from there. Very well located. Small disappointment at the beginning, we had booked a deluxe suite with a spacious balcony with a view of the lake. From the balcony we only saw forest and mountains. After one night we moved to a double room where there was also a view of the lake from the balcony. The service was simply great, every wish was fulfilled and somehow made possible. Very nice interns.

Top hotel, very good service. Mega view, no matter where you are. Very nice wellness area. Completely satisfied.

One of the best hotel in Tegernsee

We stayed over a long weekend - overall the location of the hotel is beautiful with a scenic view over the lake. The hotel is advertised as a 5* - which in comparison to other hotels I can not share. * The rooms where to some extend run down with very used sinks (which show some coloring from extensive use) * Thin pillows - not comfortable * Staines on the seating in the breakfast area * Wellness area is packed, quite areas are not quite (either bc they are right next to the gym or to the pool with kids in it) * Saunas look really used (specifically the big outdoor sauna where the wooden panels peel and there are sweat stains all over) * Wellness area overall smells “wet” * The hotel bar is more or less the conference area when there are no conferences * At checkout the question if we liked it was the last one - after I shared the feedback there was no further follow up or interest to understand more details From my perspective positives: * Location of the hotel * Breakfast was really good Decent hotel, however I wouldn’t come again.

I'm really disappointed this time. We spontaneously booked a night to switch off a bit. We were not allowed to use the spa area before 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and had to leave at 2:00 p.m. the next day!!! That was absolutely not worth it. We asked reception if we could pay an extra charge - unfortunately we were refused. It has to be said that last time we were allowed to use the spa area until 6 p.m. Unfortunately, the lady at reception didn't care much about that. We won't come back again...

Rooms: The Wahlberg house has a clear conference feel. The rooms are designed more as business rooms. Unfortunately, there are temperature fluctuations in the shower water and the bed box is uncomfortably soft. Breakfast: The breakfast is really great! High quality food and good service. However, when the weather is bad, the restaurant is a bit dark and the benches are often dirty with leftover food. Wellness: The wellness area was unfortunately very disappointing. The loungers are uncomfortable, the relaxation room is directly adjacent to the pool without sufficient soundproofing, so you can hear every shout. The sauna area in the basement is planned pragmatically, without a modern style concept.

From arrival to departure everything was great. Shortly after arriving I was super relaxed ☺️

The location is simply convincing. The staff is happy to accommodate individual requests. Very good service. Very nice wellness area. We'd love to come back. The three restaurants offer something for every taste. The renovated rooms were a success. The small negative point is that the balcony covering has not been replaced.

Wir waren mit Freunden zum Brunchen und waren total begeistert! Lecker kaltes und warmes Essen inkl. 1 Glas Sekt. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend und der Ausblick auf den Tegernsee einfach fabelhaft. Wir hatten Anfang April tolles Wetter und konnten unser Brunch auf der Terrasse geniessen. Klare Empfehlung!

We don't need to talk about the location, it's great. The hotel also looks quite impressive. Looking at the rest, I really can't believe this is a 5-star hotel. The service was really bad! 1. Our room was only ready 1 hour after official check-in. This wasn't handled particularly professionally either. 2. Children screaming in the spa area and in general it was very loud! 3. The room itself was clean and nice! However, there were brown stains on the curtains and the bed pillows were really bad! Me and my friend didn't sleep a wink all night. In addition, the room was so noisy that you could hear EVERYTHING from outside! I just know other hotels in this price category and the whole thing looks COMPLETELY different! We definitely won't be coming back!

We traveled to Das Tegernsee for a weekend (Friday to Sunday) and really enjoyed the short break there: the room including the view was outstanding, the service and friendliness of the staff were great and the food was great. The wellness area and the saunas turned the 2-day stay into a 1-week relaxation factor. All in all, a great overall package for the price that we would be happy to treat ourselves to again soon.

Everything was great, great service, great location. But screaming children in the wellness area are simply a NO GO. It's a shame.

Spent 3 lovely days there with my wife. The staff was very accommodating, the hotel is beautifully located above the town of Tegernsee. The wellness area leaves almost nothing to be desired (there is no whirlpool). Johannes is an excellent masseur. We'll be back in the summer...

Great location on the hillside, with lake views, but not on the lake. Very expensive, more for companies and the moneyed nobility than for normal citizens. Still an experience.

Besonders im Winterwonderland eine wirklich beeindruckende Panorama-Sauna und das schöne Zimmer mit Sonnenbalkon und Panorama-Blick vom Bett aus wirklich toll!

Wenn die tolle Aussicht noch vom Essen übertroffen wird, muss man nicht viel mehr sagen. Exzellentes Essen bei angenehmem und zuvorkommendem Service. Insgesamt gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Wollten eun nettes, ruhiges Abendessen nach einem Wandertag einnehmen. Leider war an diesem Abend ein nicht ganz angemessen lautes Firmenevent im oberen Teil des Speisesaals an 2 Stehtischen angeordnet, dessen Teilnehmer dort das eine oder andere Bier schlürften und auch am Tisch nicht wesentlich leiser wurden (weil langer Tisch). Nicht ganz angemessen in einem Restaurant, da wäre ein Braujaus besser gewesen. Speisen waren aber super!

Ein warmer Sommerabend, wir hätten gerne ein Bier im Biergarten getrunken - vielleicht auch eine Brotzeit verzehrt. Biergarten halb leer. Freundliche Frage beim Personal, ob denn noch geöffnet sei. „Ja freili“ war die freundliche Antwort des älteren Herrn. Da kam ein spitzes Kreischen aus dem „Off“ der Schenke - hörbar ein junges Mädel: „Nein, wir sind voll - komplett“ Der ältere Kollege schaute uns überrascht aber auch fassungslos an. Tja, ist halt nicht einfach in diesen Tagen, Personal zu finden („gutes“ sowieso nicht, man muss eben nehmen, was man kriegt). Aber so viel Arroganz und Blasiertheit haben wir lange nicht mehr erlebt

Wie bei unserem letzten Aufenthalt war das Essen wieder ein Gaumenschmaus! Es ist für jeden etwas dabei - egal ob man Veganer, Vegetarier oder Fleischliebhaber ist.

Wir hatten einen Aufenthalt von Sonntag auf Montag als kleinen Ausbruch aus unserem Alltag. Das Abendessen war hervorragend und auch das Frühstück war Gigantisch. So eine Vielfältigkeit und Klasse habe ich selten irgendwo anders gesehen. Daumen Hoch und weiter so!!

das Offensichtliche: Ausblick Top, da muss man nicht mehr dazu sagen. Restaurant auf sehr hohem Niveau mit interessanter und anspruchsvoller Karte! Und, aus meiner Sicht, wirklich hervorzuheben! Endlich mal ein Restaurant mit einem vegetarischen Angebot das Beachtung verdient. Eine Profi-Küche die vegetarisch kocht - ENDLICH! Und was dabei raus kommt ist Klasse! Danke dafür! Aber auch das "nicht vegetarische" sehr sehr gut! Service zuvorkommend und immer nett - zu keinem (!) Zeitpunkt übertrieben aufdringlich... mehr davon! Wir kommen wieder. Danke!

Große Schilder locken in den Biergarten. Wenn man dann endlich dort sitzt, muss man schon im Internet suchen, um zu erfahren, dass heute eben geschlossen ist. Schade

We ate outside one evening in the Senger restaurant (early September 2020) to celebrate two 40th birthdays. We chose the 3 course menu which was amazing. The service by Alice was great, she was really friendly and helpful. Our food was fantastic. We had two vegetarians with us and changing part of the 3 course menu was no trouble at all. We had a fantastic view of the lake, and when it started to get a little chilly we were offered blankets. The wines we chose were great, and the prices commensurate with the quality of the food and wine we chose. We hope to be in Tegernsee again and will definitely visit Das Tegernsee. They also have a more relaxed dining area, and a biergarten, so will visit those too.

Zum ersten Mal waren wir Anfang August im Hotel das Tegernsee für 2 Nächte und es war wundervoll!! Wir hatten die Juniorsuite mit Seeblick gebucht und diese war sehr geräumig, außerordentlich sauber ( man hat kein Staubkorn gefunden!!) und der Panoramablick ist beim aufstehen schon ein Highlight! Das Personal war überall einfach unglaublich freundlich und auf alle wünsche - und darüber hinaus- wurde eingegangen. Das eigentliche Highlight war aber auch noch das feine Essen!!! Das Frühstück auf der Sonnenterrasse war mehr als reichlich, sehr frisch und bester Qualität. Das Abendessen im Restaurant Senger unser absolutes Highlight!! Eine Woche später sind wir wieder gekommen und haben diesesmal die Chaletzimmer Kategorie gebucht. Auch diese waren sehr schön und heimelig eingerichtet. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen! Das Hotel Das Tegernsee ist ein absolutes Juwel in Bayern 😍

Nachdem wir im Juni 2018 mit dem Restaurant Senger sehr unzufrieden waren, haben wir es nun erneut versucht und wurden sehr positiv überrascht. Vorspeise und Hauptgericht top. Unsere extrem freundliche, aufmerksame und humorvolle Bedienung Julia Juric hat uns den Abend auf der traumhaften Terrasse zusätzlich versüßt. Im Gegensatz zu vor zwei Jahren, waren auch die Portionen völlig angemessen und perfekt zubereitet. Bei dieser Qualität kommen wir in jedem Fall wieder.

Weil es uns so gut gefallen hat, haben wir hier zwei Abendessen mit Blick über den Tegernsee verbracht. Ein ganz tolles Hotel mit wunderschönen Säälen. Dazu sehr gehobene, perfekt angerichtete und leckere Speisenauswahl. Definitiv etwas für einen besonderen Anlass!

- Tolle Lage mit Blick auf den See - Schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: 3-Gänge-Menü für 49 Euro, Portionen sehr klein, mit wenig Raffinesse zubereitet, Wein ebenfalls mittelmäßig und dafür völlig überteuert (0,1l 9 Euro)

Es ist ein Privileg, auf der Terrasse an einem Sommerabend das Abendessen zu geniessen. Der Ausblick über den ruhigen See, die angrenzenden Dörfer ohne sichtbaren Bausünden, vielen Kirchen, Hügel und Wälder ist einzigartig. Genau so das Essen: in allen Belangen sehr gut. Dank auch dem zuvorkommenden Service. Wir kommen wieder!

Der Ausblick auf den Tegernsee ist sehr pittoresk, die Speisen sind aber enorm überteuert. Drei Gabeln Obazda mit Billig-Brot acht Euro. Für einen Beilagensalat muss Brot extra hinzubestellen und bekommt auch das qualitativ minderwertige Brot. Das Hotel "Das Tegernsee" sollte unbedingt umdenken.
