Cafe & Restaurant Seeglas in Tegernsee

Unfortunately, this place cannot be visited with a dog, and even sitting on the terrace is not allowed – despite the fact that there’s a dog-friendly beach nearby. It’s the closest spot for refreshments, but we didn’t try it because of this restriction, which I honestly don’t understand.

We had cheese spaetzle with a side salad and rump steak with fried potatoes, as well as a children's menu: fries with ketchup/mayo and schnitzel. We all enjoyed it immensely. The portions were generous. We were able to place our drink orders very quickly. Drinks and food were served promptly. The service was friendly and attentive. Parking was right on site. Easy card payments. Beautiful view. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant, very good service. Unfortunately, the rump steak was disappointing for €31 and mango ice cream from a can instead of fresh. With a good 0.5-liter beer, I paid €45 – too expensive for the quality.

The food was delicious and served very quickly. The view was also great. However, one of the waitresses was extremely unfriendly...she won't get a single cent more tip from me next time.

We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance. The Seeglas team, the ambiance, the view, and especially the food are truly top-notch! The team is super accommodating and always friendly. The wooden furnishings are a perfect fit for us guests (from the Black Forest). The view of Lake Tegernsee, including the terrace, is breathtakingly beautiful. The food… as I said – top-notch! Superb quality, whether it was the asparagus cream soup, the carpaccio, the tomato and mozzarella, the cheese spaetzle, or the roast beef with onions. The food was so good that we came by two days in a row! :) If we had been here for three days, we would probably have come back three days in a row ;-) If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again! Disastrous food. The waitress directed me to the kiosk so I could get a shandy, even though I pointed out that I'd be ignored there! I don't understand why I didn't get a table! Absolutely terrible place!

We stopped here briefly on our way home. It was a lovely place to linger. We didn't eat anything, but the dishes all looked delicious.

We were there for a sad occasion, after the funeral of a good friend, but the restaurant is really nice and the food was more than good, truly excellent, and the service was fantastic; they always kept an eye out for anything. And I thought it wasn't that expensive for Tegernsee standards. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, otherwise you could have sat outside right by the water.

I highly recommend this place. Great service and delicious food! Fast service and friendly staff. The parking lot right next to the restaurant is large enough. The prices at the restaurant are reasonable for the large portions. I'd be happy to come back 😊

Very tasty food, very well geared towards children.

When we asked if we were welcome with our dogs, we were told "yes, of course," which we were very pleased about. Following the recommendation of the waiter, we ordered the cream puffs with coffee, which we really enjoyed. The friendliness and service were super nice. We'd be happy to come back... greetings to the staff.

I've reviewed the restaurant numerous times and it's always a pleasure to write about it. So the location is great, the food is first class and the drinks are wonderful and now comes the best part, the landlord and his team are a great unit and always super friendly.

Good food next to the beautiful lake

We know the innkeeper from the days of the old blacksmith shop in Dürnbach. We always eat at Schorsch when we are on vacation at Tegernsee. The landlord and his staff are very attentive and friendly. And everything on the menu or daily specials is super tasty and well portioned. Price-performance ratio is right, the ambience is harmonious and the location right on the lake is simply great. A reservation is advisable as the restaurant is very busy. Always my pleasure.

Wir waren zu viert beim Mittagessen und hatten reserviert. Wir bekamen einen schönen Platz, großzügig und gemütlich. Das Essen, bestehend aus Suppe und vier verschiedenen Gerichten war sehr lecker. Zur Nachspeise gab's Kuchen, der auch sehr gut schmeckte. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir waren rundherum zufrieden und können das Lokal sehr empfehlen.

Great Kaiserschmarrn, super char. Alliteration, but authentic. Fish: Juicy, perfectly salted, with crispy, crunchy skin. Kaiserschmarrn: Perfect caramelized crust, dusted with powdered snow. Both grade 1.

People like to go there. The innkeepers and staff are always in a good mood and friendly. The food is very tasty, especially the salads and the Viennese-style schnitzel. Prices are reasonable. Cozy inside, great view of Lake Tegernsee outside on the terrace.

Man sitzt so nah am See wie kaum irgendwo am Tegernsee. Und es gibt einen großen , kostenlosen Parkplatz. Ein sehr gites Essen und ein sehr freundliches Personal machen den Aufenthalt im Seeglas zu einem echten Highlight. Ich rede von einem Besuch im Sommer im Freien. 5 Min. zu Fuß entfernt ist die übrigens die Schiffsanlegestelle.

Food was very good for a good price. Staff was friendly at first, but when their machine didn't accept foreign bank cards the attitude changed quickly to rude and grim. If they preferred cash they could have asked, no drama needed.

This Restaurant is as good as the view of Lake Tegernsee. It is located right on the lake. Nice restaurant, great service, good selection of dishes, fair prices. Nearby there is a children's playground and free parking (for 2 hours).

An absolutely cozy restaurant, with very friendly service and very good food

We visited the restaurant based on the Google rating and are completely satisfied. However, we only visited the restaurant and didn't stay overnight because we were in transit. Really great and nice service staff who served us well. We ate a Swiss sausage salad and Kaiserschmarn and we were able to enjoy both dishes with a view of the lake. There are enough parking spaces available.

Wir haben allerdings nur das Restaurant aufgesucht und sind aufgrund der Durchreise nicht über Nacht geblieben. Ganz tolle und nette Servicekraft, die uns toll bediente. Gegessen haben wir einen Schweizer Wurstsalat und Kaiserschmarn und die beiden Gerichte konnten wir, mit Blick auf den See auch super genießen. Parkmöglichkeiten sind genügend vorhanden.

On the terrace you can sit beautifully in the shade with a great view of the lake. Dogs are also very welcome (on a leash), there are water bowls and even a treat from the waitress :)

Nice food, exceptional view but bad service: there has been a misunderstanding in our order and they didn't care at all, offering "kindly" to throw away the misorder so we'd pay for the two dishes. I guess there is enough clients for them not to care to treat them nicely. First time I'm being treated that badly in a restaurant.

I like food atmosphere and location! There is a classic German cuisine. And you can try here local lake fish as well.

This was described as a sandy beach which it wasn't, It's a stoney beach. Parking was free up to 2 hours. Lake and view was lovely.

Somehow it wasn't for me...too close to the bathers. But everyone feels differently. Service was great. Food was good. Price was ok.

Incomprehensible! I have never experienced something like that! I bought an overpriced portion of fries at the snack bar and then sat down for 5 minutes to eat the fries quickly and avoid walking 500m across the entire lawn. There were probably 50% of the seats free, nothing was reserved. I just sat there for a moment and was almost finished. Suddenly an employee shouted at me from the side and asked me to leave the place because it was only for the “restaurant”. There are no signs anywhere that can prove this. A discussion didn't help with the employee's incompetence and lack of insight. It was purely a power play since she probably has no other authority. What's so bad about it if I eat there briefly and then leave immediately? Where is the problem? I don't bother anyone and I don't take up anyone's space. Dear people who are thinking about going there. Do not do it. It's better to drive to Lake Achensee in Austria, 35km further away. Much nicer, much nicer people and the food is much better (even at the beach).

We bought something at the kiosk at Tegernsee. Unfortunately there wasn't that much choice that day because the grill was out. The waitress was very friendly and did everything herself, which is probably why no one was at the grill. We then had fries with wieners. The portion was quite large and it tasted good too. I still found 8.50 quite expensive. The view of Lake Tegernsee is breathtaking.

Everything is just right. Fantastic view, super delicious food - which is perfectly seasoned - Tegernsee Helles on tap, super friendly staff and very clean toilets. You couldn't ask for more! Happy to come back :)

We found this place by chance while driving past. It should be advertised a lot more as it is a beautiful place on the lake. There is a nice children's playground right next door. The food was very tasty and the prices are normal, but the friendliness of the staff should definitely be emphasized. We are with 4 adults, 4 small children and a dog. The waiter kept all 4 children happy with his open-minded, friendly manner, the ice cream orders made for many happy children's faces and even the dog was treated to a treat. Many thanks to the team at the restaurant for this lovely afternoon.

Honestly, one of the worst if not the worst salad I have ever eaten in my life. I forgot how much it costed but it was quiet pricey ~ 8€? When I read "wurstsalat" I thought there was gonna be pieces of sausages but it was actually this cold ham with so much red onions ans vinegar. It was kind of inedible and overpriced. Would not personally recommend.

We (two families) came here for dinner with our children after our visit to the lido. The atmosphere outside is very nice and we had a friendly waitress who tried to make up for what the boss failed: since it was full outside, we were asked to sit inside. While we were ordering, my little daughter whined (uncomfortably) loudly, whereupon the boss forbade our waitress to take our order unless I immediately silenced the child. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. The waitress apologized for her boss and asked me to order. I actually would have liked to go, but I didn't want to ruin the others' evening. I picked up my (now silent) daughter and waited outside for food. I went to the boss and calmly explained to him that I found this interaction very humiliating and that I would have liked him to de-escalate instead of escalate. He said he didn't care. I understand that other guests felt disturbed at short notice and of course I was uncomfortable that my daughter was loud for two or three minutes (which parent doesn't know these embarrassing situations?), but the boss's handling of the situation was more than inappropriate. Therefore, despite delicious food and nice service, the taste remained bland.
