The two of us spontaneously went to Schwabing for dinner at Cochinchina. The atmosphere is very nice, warm and cozy. The menu is extremely diverse and the advice on this is exemplary. The quality of the food is exceptionally good and the eyes also eat. The only downer is the fact that when we accompanied you to the table at 6 p.m. it was immediately pointed out that you only had the table for two hours. We would have liked to have stayed longer. As usual in Schwabing, the parking situation is difficult and requires a little patience. We'll go there again.

For an (Asian) restaurant in this price category and these reviews, I expected much more. I was very impressed by the ambience, the furnishings and lighting concept - everything was very harmonious, inviting to linger and promising to spend a nice culinary evening in small or large groups. The service was extremely friendly, but for my taste it was too distant and passive. Unfortunately, the dishes of the individual courses were served to everyone at the table with a long delay. The offerings on the menu make you want to try things out and eat and are sometimes different from alternative restaurants. In my opinion, the offer and the variety are a bit too large. The presentation and presentation of the food is absolutely ok, the dishes are beautifully chosen. In terms of taste, I expected more, everything tasted quite "normal", unfortunately no special features or highlights compared to restaurants with similar or lower prices. As an example, I would like to mention the quality and degree of doneness of the duck we ordered. The pasta bowl served for €27.90 consisted of some undressed/seasoned pasta, raw lettuce, grated carrots, raw bean sprouts and carved duck. A small bowl of fish sauce, chilli, etc. was served - the concept was to mix everything together and enjoy. Definitely tasty, but for this price quite bland and with little craftsmanship or taste finesse. For starters we had, among other things, the papaya salad without shrimp. Instead of the prawns we were promised more papaya salad, on the plate there was a large hand of papaya salad with peanuts, coriander, etc. - very delicately seasoned, but also rather usual without that certain something, which I bought for €17.90 had imagined. What I also found striking was the room temperature table water served in smeared carafes for just under €7. All in all, we had a lovely evening with delicious food without any culinary highs at a price that seemed inconsistent to me. For me personally, the individual dishes are around €5-10 more than what I would be willing to spend on them. In my opinion, restaurants in this price range have to be more consistent in terms of ambience, service and cuisine in order to get a place on my recommendation list.

One of my 2 favorite Asians in Munich and the surrounding area. It's always delicious, the staff is courteous and the atmosphere is very appealing. Clear recommendation.

Very good food from Thailand. I enjoyed the fried calamari and papaya salad. The service is fast and excellent. Classy decoration in general, but i found the tables are a bit compact in the middle. Lots of couples... even a dog this evening.

Wir waren erst am Samstag wieder im Cochinchina. Die Angestellten sind unfassbar nett und ich wurde sogar zurückgerufen, nachdem ich in der Online-Reservierung um eine andere Zeit bat, als verfügbar. Auch unserem Tischwunsch wurde nachgekommen - einfach perfekt. Ich bin seit 8 Jahren regelmäßig dort und kann ganz klar sagen: stets zufrieden. Der Service ist zügig und freundlich. Das Essen wird stets heiß serviert und ist wirklich jedes mal gut bis äußerst gut. Das schöne moderne Ambiente lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. DANKE liebes Cochinchina Team und bis bald.

Very nice restaurant. It's very comfortable to sit. It is bright and attractive. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and very attentive. The food is very good to excellent. The meat is cooked to perfection and the vegetables still have some bite. Everything is tastefully coordinated. It is also beautifully arranged visually. The high price is definitely justified. We have been there several times and have always been very satisfied. We will always be happy to come back to this restaurant in the future. Keep it up 🙏👍 Unfortunately I only took this one photo. Great restaurant, cozy atmosphere, nice staff and really good and fresh food. The selection of food is great. Everything from mild to very spicy is available. If you love vegetables, most of the dishes are a paradise. Rarely have I eaten such great, crunchy vegetables. The meat is always well cooked and very tasty.

You always have to make a reservation, no question. It was super tasty, very unusual and delicious, both in terms of taste and textures. A new employee served us, but that was also very nice, he did a very good job considering the number of people. You have to like the noise level in the restaurant. All in all, a very nice evening and every seat was completely occupied.

My friend and I went to Cochinchina this past Sunday for lunch, and unfortunately, we both ended up with acute food poisoning afterward. We ordered dishes with seafood, and within hours, we were both extremely unwell. We noticed it was lunch here where we got the food poisoning after noticing we had both taken a sick leave today and exchanged information to find out we both got the same issue after lunch here. This was a very concerning experience. I strongly urge the management to review their food safety and hygiene practices, especially regarding seafood. Food safety is crucial, and this incident has made us very hesitant to return. I hope this review helps others when deciding where to eat, and I sincerely hope the restaurant addresses these issues immediately.

fantastic Vietnamese food experience. the food is solid - best Vietnamese in Munich. for example, when your dish is accompanied by herbs (rau) then you get four or five types of jungle herbs. not typical for the rest of Munich where Vietnamese is typically only accompanied by fresh basil however, its the attentive and friendly service, upscale and tasteful decor that really elevates the atmosphere and has made it one of my favorite restaurants in Munich. just look at the green papaya salad - great presentation. they also have the best coffee i have had in Germany. order the ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee)!

Food is good but very expensive. What is very annoying is that they accept all reservations and are then over-reserved. Then you wait 20 minutes even though you have reserved.

Everything was great, but unfortunately the food was too sweet for us. We ordered two salads. They would have been really good without the extreme sweetness. The crispy tofu, on the other hand, was a bitter disappointment. It doesn't taste like anything - you can take it off the menu. Nobody misses anything. Service was great. Polite and competent. Since years ago great place to go for variety of menu, high quality food, tasty cocktails and a lovely fashion atmosphere. It is always full, and it can be loud/very loud if you have kids around. When the weather allows you can sit outside and enjoy the cosy atmosphere there too. Avoid coming by car since it is almost impossible to find a parking slot.

Constantly high quality and the taste of well-known and familiar dishes are simply taken to a level that was not thought possible, both visually and taste-wise. Attentive service. Coming from Melbourne and having travelled Vietnam for 2 weeks, my knowledge and expectations of the delicacy that is Vietnamese food is very high. After dining at Cochinchina, I can safely say that the experience I had took me back to a late night in Da Nang. The aroma of the pho as you walk in, the friendliness of the staff, the potency of marinades on my grilled swordfish, I could go on! You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face! I could not recommend enough to those in or travelling through Munich!

2nd visit - and it was good. Tucked away on the cosy street adjacent to hookah-infused Leopoldstraße, this restaurant boasts a variety of vietnamese dishes — from very familiar, to something new to the eye (at least for little old me). Stylish darker style interior with some cool twists perfectly blends with the brightness and bustling flavors of the plate. Try spicy coconut soup Sup ga nuoc dua & crispy Wan Tan. Delicious! A little pricey, but it’s worth it - hence taste and attentive service.

We have been regular guests at Cochinchina for years, which is very possible with the very diverse menu without getting boring! Perfect mix of upscale and yet not forced, but cozy. Depending on the dish chosen, medium to high priced cuisine. Service is always very attentive and polite. Any time!

Ungemütlich und überteuert. Frühlingsrollen= frittiertes Fett. Service ist hier ein Fremdwort: mehrmals auch während dem Essen wird eindringlich darauf hingewiesen, dass die Reservierung nur für 2 Stunden gilt. Auch sonst unhöflich und nicht hilfsbereit. Vorwurfsvoller Blick, als das Trinkgeld konsequenterweise ausbleibt. Nie wieder.

The prices are a bit high but you definitely get your money's worth. Ideal place for special occasions. We also asked for the leftovers to be packed and they put extra rice with the dishes.

Vietnamese in a chic yet cozy atmosphere. Cochinchina offers an extensive menu with numerous dishes. We were there at lunchtime and so chose something from the lunch menu, which is also quite extensive. The service is attentive. The food was very tasty and was also beautifully prepared. The ambience is great with light, lots of wood and fabrics. The price-performance ratio for lunch is right. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was ok, the main course was a bit disappointing but there were some fresh ingredients. In terms of price, it was in the higher category for Asian cuisine, but unfortunately it wasn't particularly special either. Tenía reserva para las 22 y 30 del dia sábado 6/1 ,llegamos y no estaba lista nuesta mesa ya que el lugar se encontraba lleno de gente, nos invitaron a pasar por la barra tomar un trago, el cual fuimos asesorados por un bar tender, como cortesia y por la espera nos invitaron con una copa de champagne, luego de ello nos dieron una mesa, en mi opinión en el lugar más lindo del restó , la comida rica pero porciones muy chicas y los tragos riquisimos. Lindo lugar, buena atención!!

Also erst einmal - das Essen ist großartig! Deshalb auch eigentlich 5 Sterne! ABER der Service ist wirklich unterirdisch schlecht und unfreundlich! Ich war jetzt vier mal dort und leider wurde es immer schlimmer ... Als ich einen Tisch für zwei unterschiedliche Tage reserviert hatte, konnte ich an einem davon mit meinem Besuch wieder umdrehen, weil sie diese nicht notiert hatten... Kundenorientiert sieht anders aus! Coronaregel gelten dort leider auch nicht, wir saßen wirklich eng mit einem anderen Tisch zusammen. Zum Bestellen sicher super, dort zu essen macht keinen Spaß :( und ich bin wirklich ein echt entspannter Mensch und habe Verständnis wenn das Restaurant voll ist...

Hochpreisiges vietnamesisches Restaurant mit guten hochwertigen Speisen, teils in einfallsreicher Kombination. Die Inneneinrichtung hebt sich vom Standard ab, ebenso wie die Karte, ebenso die Weinkarte. Leider haben ein paar Speisen nicht ganz beim hohen Niveau mitgehalten und: der Service / die Küche hat es bei keinem der Gänge geschafft, für alles 5 Personen das Essen gleichzeitig zu bringen und man musste länger auf Getränke warten, die schon auf der Bar standen, aber nicht serviert wurden. Sehr schade!

Ein wunderschöner Ort, ein Hauch von Asien mitten in Schwabing. Seit vielen Jahren mein Lieblings-Asia-Restaurant in München. Das Essen ist nicht nur unfassbar lecker und variantenreich, sondern auch ein Augenschmaus erster Güte. Tip: Mittags ist es nicht ganz so voll und deutlich günstiger, Abends muss man unbedingt reservieren.
