Chi Thu in München

My favorite restaurant in Muc, great food and service. Very atmospheric decor. Good pho soup and very tasty bowls with noodle salad and vegetarian spring rolls. I like the mirror in the bathroom.

This is a self-service restaurant. After entering, you order at the counter and then wait at your table until the buzzer goes off. Since seats can’t be reserved, it’s best to either wait for a table to free up or secure a spot before ordering. The tables and chairs are quite basic, making it more of a casual spot to grab a quick meal before an event rather than a place to linger. We tried the Pho Bo, Banh Bao, and Com Ga — and everything was delicious. The broth for the Pho was light and paired nicely with the noodles, so I could finish the whole bowl without feeling heavy. The Com Ga was served like a salad, and mixing it as you eat brought out even more flavor. Next time, I’m planning to try the Thit Heo Nuong Voi Trung — the fried egg on top looked amazing. Overall, it’s a great place for a quick, tasty meal. Highly recommended!

We order “Bun bo Hue” not bun rieu or any other kind of noodle soup. Only our restaurant makes bun bo Hue mixed with bun rieu like this. In general, it’s just to satisfy hunger.

I ordered 62 and the waitress got my order wrong and then blamed me for not checking the screen that the order was right. Very rude to blame me for not correcting her mistake. Food was good though.

One of the best places to eat Vietnamese food in Munich. Fast service, always warm and tasty food. The homemade lemonades are made with love and very tasty too. Clean and homely even if it's small and usually buzzing.

Very tasty summer rolls with shrimp. The sauce is too sweet for me personally, and a peanut sauce would be better :) It's a nice place to sit outside, and for Italian dessert, there are two delicious ice cream parlors nearby 😊

A nice little restaurant with good food. Unfortunately, the chairs are small stools—if you sit here for a while, you'll find it painful. The soups and homemade lemonades were good, but I've had better. The restaurant is entirely self-service and gets busy in the evenings; reservations aren't possible, as far as I know. Just show up and hope a table opens up quickly. The prices are fair, considering the self-service approach. Overall, a good experience, good food, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd.

Excellent and authentic Vietnamese food. Tried the veg pho (#89) and their Jasmine oandan iced tea. The pho was truly outstanding. The seating was comfortable and the table was a converted sewing machine table. Nicely done interiors, friendly staff, reasonable pricing and quick service. Several veg options. Don't miss this if you're in the area and in the mood for some quick asian.

Authenticity paired with excellent quality made our short stay incredibly enjoyable. There's also an outdoor area and the option to pay by card. I can wholeheartedly recommend Chi Thu. 👍👍👍

Ate pho bo here for the first time. And I'm thrilled. Especially if you've already had pho bo in northern Vietnam, it's difficult to find soups as good as this. Highly recommend!

Always "10 minutes" on the phone, but then you wait another 20 minutes at the bakery. Because the bakery was closed, I asked if I could buy some bread. But that was too much to ask.

A small restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. I particularly liked the decor. The restaurant is decorated as if you were actually in Vietnam! It gave me a nostalgic feeling. The restaurant's concept is based on self-service. After ordering, the dishes were ready for pickup fairly quickly. The food was excellent. Very well seasoned. The portions were generous. Definitely worth another visit! We'll be back :)

I ordered the Bun Cha Thit Heo and it was the most unseasoned Vietnamese food that I've ever had. Such a disappointment, the man who came to clean our table was extremely unfriendly.

Overall, I enjoyed the Vietnamese food. I ordered the Bánh Mì – one with chicken, one with pork. The chicken was definitely my favorite; the pork was too fatty for me personally, but that's a matter of taste, of course. The atmosphere inside is great, and it's also very nice outside if you can get a seat. I like the self-service concept, and the Vietnamese cuisine is authentic and delicious. The restrooms were clean, and the prices were absolutely fair. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

I ordered a banh mi with pulled chicken. Unfortunately, it also included a pork pate, which wasn't clearly communicated on the menu or apparent when ordering. For religious reasons, I don't eat pork – and if you specifically order a chicken sandwich, you don't assume it contains pork products. After eating the sandwich, I spoke to a member of staff about it, but received no sympathy or apology – which I found very disappointing. A more sensitive approach to such concerns would be welcome.

Seldom have I experienced something so cheeky... First the waitress gets the number wrong, then they try to blame me for the error. The waiter's solution: I should just take what I was given. Great idea, genius! The dish was significantly larger and more expensive than the meal I actually wanted, so of course there was a lot left over. For better or for worse, I have to take the food with me, but lo and behold, I then pocket more money for the packaging. Nicely ripped off and treated rudely. It was definitely the last time!

Wasn't too convinced and probably wouldn't come back. Shrimp dumplings didn't have much flavor and the banh mi was a bit dry, lacking sauce and the meat needs juiciness. Price is okay but for 15€ you won't get full. Employees are nice, you have to order at the front and get your own food. The tables and chairs are not really comfortable. They are small, old sewing tables and the chairs are tiny. Too bad

I‘ve been here several times. It‘s a place where you walk by and just decide to go in spontaneously. The food is good. The decorations and atmosphere are pretty cool.

Very tasty food in a very crowded and unorganized table setting

We can during the week and didn't expect it to be full. In 5 minutes we managed to get a table. We sat at the beginning next to the entrance, then we moved upstairs because it was cozier. The food was okay, the portions were abundant, and price was cheaper than the average.

Wonderful restaurant and delicious food with great portions! My boyfriend and I were in München for the weekend and we went here after trying to look for a place to eat in the streets close to the Hauptbahnhof. If you’re looking for a place to eat, this is definitely worth it. The price is appropriate for a city like Munich and the ambiance was wonderful. We liked the seating style but it was also a bit small though, it’s understandable.

I had a very tasty red curry for lunch. The preparation was quick and the portion size was good. I left my wallet there and the restaurant staff took good care of it and I was able to pick it up the next day with all its contents. Thank you very much!

Of all the branches, only the one in Schwabing really impressed me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Customer orientation is practiced there and the service is excellent. 🚫In complete contrast to this are the branches on Fraunhofer Strasse and Pestalozzi Strasse, where unfortunately there is a lack of any customer orientation. A real disappointment in comparison!

The Chi Thu Restaurant is my regular Vietnamese restaurant, which I always enjoy visiting. The food tastes fresh, authentic and is always good quality. The waiting time is seen as manageable. After ordering, you will receive a pager so that you don't have to wait unnecessarily. The drinks (lemonade) are also worth mentioning. The restaurant is decorative and nicely decorated. There is no real service as the food is ordered at the checkout and picked up afterwards. However, the staff seems relatively friendly. However, I still like to come back again and again because the overall picture here is positive.

I love every minute of Chi Thu. And yes, that includes the grumpy guy at the counter. The food is spectacular - I mostly go for the Bao Burger. I’ve also had spring rolls and fried bananas. It is served fast and the value is more than fair. I’ve eaten in and taken out and was never disappointed.

Empiezo con las cosas buenas de este lugar. La comida, y es por eso que estábamos muy molestos de salir al final de la cena muy molesto. El propietario era extremadamente grosero. Parecía que no quería que compráramos su comida. No recomiendo este lugar a nadie. Espero que cambie de actitud.

Chi Thu Restaurant offers a solid dining experience. I've been there several times and the food always tastes fresh and authentic, especially the Bun Bo Hue, which in my opinion is the best here - strong in taste and nice and spicy. The staff is friendly, but sometimes a bit distant, which makes the service seem a bit neutral. Nevertheless, I would like to come back, especially because of the good quality of the dishes. Recommended for Vietnamese food!

I did only get the chicken banh mi but it was super dry and just not that good to be honest. Im a huge banh mi expert if I do say so myself lol but for the price id skip it honestly.

The sandwiches they offer are absolutely delicious. Didn't have to wait long either. I have now tried all three sandwiches and all three were very, very tasty

I tried bahn mi and iced Vietnamese coffee. Bahn mi was quite tasty with fresh veggies. But the meat was a bit dry. Coffee was quite good with the hints of caramel. I would recommend!

Very good food in normal price range for Munich.

I think the food is very good. The price is also cheap. The restaurant is self-service. Unfortunately, the cutlery is extremely cheap and feels difficult to hold. It even cuts your hand because it is very sharp. The stools are very uncomfortable. The napkins are typical for ice cream parlors and don't absorb anything. I really like the food, but the place really needs chairs instead of the weird wooden and plastic stools. You shouldn't take street food too seriously ;) I don't want to feel like I'm sitting on the side of the road

Vietnamese food is delicious and everything is served quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nostalgic for old Vietnam, I recommend you come and experience it.

The food was tasty, but the portion size was very sufficient. It is a self-service shop, the gentleman at the checkout was a bit grumpy and short. The ambience is solid, although the plastic chairs are a matter of taste and the smell in the upstairs room was a bit strange. There is a good selection of veggie and vegan dishes. Be careful, the lemonade is incredibly sweet. Never drank such a sweet soda.

Classical street food atmosphere restaurant, normal prices and great food! Service is really fast, they have tokens that ring when your food is ready, cool and less crowd waiting around. Ate pho and burger, for one VERY hungry person great but individually portions are good.

As always great place for a quick and tasty vietnamese food. I was not aware of this Chi Thu restaurant close to Sendlinger tor before. Actually I find it the most cosy one. And this time I tried the new Bahn Mi Baguette with Seitan. It was good, but the version with tofu is still my favourite.

We enjoy dining here because the price-performance ratio is excellent. I particularly recommend the Bun Gha. Since my girlfriend has celiac disease, we have to make sure to order it without fried onions because of the gluten. In 95% of cases, they get it right, but we’ve had a few instances where we had to send the dish back due to contamination. Despite this, we can confidently recommend Chi Thu, especially if you don't have any dietary restrictions.

All in all - it was PERFECT! The ambience is super authentic and gives the Vietnam flair. The service is super nice and polite. The prices are totally fair (I think Bahn Mi for €8 is really good) and the food too... wow. It was so spicy, so much flavor and just very authentic Vietnamese cuisine. So I was really excited about everything and was so happy that we got a place!

The restaurant is decorated very beautifully, in old Vietnamese style. Food prices are very affordable compared to Munich. My favorite dishes are chicken sticky rice (10e), special bread (10e), durian sticky rice (7e). Banana sweet soup and dumplings are very good. The minus point is that the beef noodle soup is not rich.

Super tasty Asian fast food restaurant, slightly higher priced

Restaurant: Chi Thu (Munich, Germany) Summary I came to the restaurant for a Banh Mi, went elsewhere for coffee, and after coffee, I came back for Pho. Pho broth is light in flavor, a good amount of msg, and had the slightest smell and taste of aromatics. Imo maybe the worst Vietnamese Pho I’ve ever had. I took a spoon full of Broth and a bite and gave it away to another party member. There was 1 size, and it was on the smaller size. This Pho would go great with all the stuff Mongs like to add to their Pho. Would I eat here again? Yes, for Banh Mi and no for Pho. Banh Mi: 9.5/10 One of the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had. The store actually looks very inviting from the outside, but that is an illusion. The service is good, but unfortunately the food is not. It is unfortunately (excuse the language) inedible. We once had number 60 and number 62 (soup). This one was really terrible. Not once was the broth edible. Apart from that, it is very poorly seasoned and there are too many disgusting herbs in it. I also have to say that we eat Vietnamese food very often, but we have never had such a bad experience before. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. We felt bad afterwards). :(

Super tasty and reasonably priced food, waiting time was relatively short and warm. The only drawback was that it was very crowded and the tables and chairs were small. Given the size of the store, there's no other way to do it. Therefore full marks.

Massively disappointed! I bought the dish no. 82 bun chay which was supposed to be noodles with tofu and crispy tofu with sauce. Instead the dish is actually a small cold sour dish with tofu flakes and nothing else. It was also the most expensive dish. I was still hungry after. Sad. To pick up your order you are given those Disks which light up and make an annoying loud noise to alert you. The problem is it was CONSTANTLY ringing all around the restaurant and made having conversation impossible and distracting. Won't be going again.
