Das beste Essen, das ich in München hatte, und dazu noch an einem angesagten Ort.

Das Beste daran: • Gegrilltes Fleisch • Gegrilltes Hähnchen Wir folgten den Empfehlungen des Kellners, aber ehrlich gesagt, seine Gerichte haben mir nicht geschmeckt. Ich denke, sie sind besser im Grillen von Fleisch, und die Beilage war Spinat, der hervorragend zu Reis passt.

Das Kabuli Pulao (Lammvariante) war fantastisch – so zart und so frisch!

Ein hervorragendes Entdeckungs- und Geschmackserlebnis. Die Gerichte waren abwechslungsreich und perfekt gewürzt. Auch der Service war sehr gut; absolut empfehlenswert.

Gutes Essen und Schwaning Atmosphäre (auf der Terrasse). Gerne wieder und auch nicht zum ersten Mal.

Sehr leckeres afghanisches Essen mit einer besonderen Note – das hat mir dieses Restaurant besonders gut geschmeckt. Ich habe in München noch nie besser gegessen. Vielen Dank, Suliman! Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen; es ist wirklich köstlich.

Wir sind spontan dort eingekehrt und haben ohne Reservierung zu dritt einen Tisch bekommen. Zuerst waren wir vom etwas dunklen Ambiente (schwaches licht) überrascht, haben es dann aber als andere Kultur wahrgenommen. Das essen war der hammer! Auch die Getränke und der Nachtisch! Einfach mal was komplett anderes, komplette Geschmacksexplosion. Klar, es war stark gewürzt aber das ist halt in dieser Küche etwas normales. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden gerne wieder kommen wenn wir näher wohnen würden.

Schade, dass meine letzte Bewertung gelöscht wurde. Uns hats hier nicht geschmeckt, Tisch an Türe sehr zugig, Portionen eher klein, dafür teuer.

Das Essen hat vorzüglich geschmeckt. Ich bin eigentlich nicht so der Kürbisfan, aber da mehrere Rezensionen hier die Kürbisvorspeise gelobt haben, haben wir sie bestellt und sie war wirklich ausgezeichnet. Auch alles andere hat gut geschmeckt. Einziges Manko war der Service - er war recht langsam und bei einem Getränk, das wir zum Essen bestellt hatten, mussten wir drei Mal nachfragen bzw. erinnern, bis es endlich kam, da war das Essen aber so gut wie weg. Das Getränk wurde dann aber immerhin erlassen. Die Atmosphäre draußen war okay. Die Preise fanden wir fair. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Köstliches afghanisches Essen. Besonders gut gefiel mir die moderne Zubereitung von Bolani. Obwohl es nicht ganz dem traditionellen Rezept entsprach, fand ich es trotzdem gelungen! Solche Innovationen brauchen wir, um unsere Esskultur für andere Nationen attraktiver zu machen. Natürlich gibt es noch Verbesserungspotenzial, vor allem, da sie schon besser sind als der Durchschnitt afghanischer Restaurants.

Extrem lecker alles! Wir hatten die Vorspeisen und jeder eine Hauptspeise. Die Geschmäcker kennt man so aufjedenfall nicht!

Als wir das erste Mal in diesem Restaurant waren, wussten wir, wir kommen definitiv wieder! Das Essen ist hervorragend und sehr lecker. Service super.

Essen war gut, Service nicht existent - wollte mehrfach noch ein zweites Getränk bestellen, aber hat sich niemand dafür interessiert. Passend zur Bezahlung viel das Kartenlesegerät aus, na was für ein Zufall.

Chopan in Schwabing bietet authentische afghanische Küche mit geschmacklich überzeugenden Ansätzen – der Restaurantbesuch hinterließ bei uns jedoch insgesamt gemischte Gefühle. Wir waren mit acht Personen zum Abendessen dort. Bereits der Start gestaltete sich etwas schwierig: Das Restaurant ist auf zwei Räume verteilt, die sich in zwei verschiedenen Gebäuden entlang der Straße befinden. Dadurch war zunächst unklar, in welchem Raum wir eigentlich reserviert waren, was die Orientierung unnötig erschwerte. Das Ambiente ist nett orientalisch eingerichtet und grundsätzlich gemütlich, allerdings insgesamt zu dunkel. Sobald das Restaurant voller wird, steigt zudem der Geräuschpegel deutlich, sodass Unterhaltungen nur noch eingeschränkt möglich sind. Der Service konnte leider nicht überzeugen. Obwohl wir anfangs die einzigen Gäste im Raum waren, dauerte es eine ganze Weile, bis der Kellner überhaupt zu uns kam. Während unseres Aufenthalts war offenbar nur ein Kellner für beide Räume zuständig, was sich schnell bemerkbar machte. Getränke ließen lange auf sich warten, auf das Essen mussten wir etwa 45 Minuten warten. Besonders irritierend war, dass eine einzelne Suppe erst nach rund 40 Minuten serviert wurde. Geschmacklich war das Essen teils sehr gelungen: Mein Gericht hat hervorragend geschmeckt, auch die Qualität des Fleisches war einwandfrei. Zwei andere Gerichte waren jedoch so stark mit Pfeffer überwürzt, dass sie kaum genießbar waren, was bei dieser Preisklasse enttäuschend ist. Problematisch war auch die Organisation: Den Kellner anzutreffen war schwierig, da er ständig zwischen den beiden Räumen wechseln musste. Selbst das Bezahlen war umständlich, da dies nur im anderen Raum möglich war. Wir mussten also mit unseren Sachen – und teilweise mit halb vollen Tellern zum Einpacken – über die Straße gehen. Unterm Strich war der Abend eine Erfahrung mit Licht und Schatten: sehr gutes Essen auf der einen Seite, deutliche Schwächen bei Service, Organisation und Atmosphäre auf der anderen. Eine Wiederholung dieses Restaurantbesuchs ist für mich eher unwahrscheinlich.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The meat was beautifully tender, which unfortunately isn't always the case, and nicely seasoned. The only downside was that the rice could have been a bit softer, but otherwise everything was excellent. I'm deducting two stars because of the rice and the fact that they charge for tap water!

Ich habe das erste Mal in meinem Leben in so einem Restaurant gegessen und muss sagen es war Mega lecker. Waren Samstag Abend dort, leider haben wir etwas lange aufs Essen waren müssen aber wir vermuten wir wurden nach der Vorspeise unabsichtlich vergessen, passiert. Ansonsten war alles top.

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant! Ich lieeeebe die Vorspeise mit dem geschmorten Kürbis 🎃 (9. Borani Kadoo), das Chopan Wasser und das Auberginen-Gericht (65.)!! 🤤🤤😍 Sehr nette Menschen und schönes Ambiente. Am Wochenende sollte man auf jeden Fall reservieren.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Und das Essen ist wirklich genial. Habe hier wohl den besten Spinat meines Lebens gegessen.

Wir waren zu dritt dort. Wir wählten Nummer 77 als Hauptgang. Dazu gab es eine Auberginen-Vorspeise. Der Reis war kalt und trocken. Das Lamm war zwar sehr gut durchgebraten, aber ebenfalls trocken. Es kostete 26 Euro pro Portion. Die Limonade war gut und kostete 5 Euro. Der Safranpudding war etwas schwer und kostete ebenfalls 5 Euro pro Portion.

Hervorragende Küche, extrem freundlicher Service und ein Chef der mit Herzblut bei der Sache ist. Unbedingt zu empfehlen und unbedingt reservieren!

Truly authentic Afghan cuisine with typical, high-quality spices and ingredients. The meat was literally melt-in-your-mouth tender. From the taste and variety to the quality and the typical hospitality, everything was simply perfect.

Food was very tasty, 10/10 recommend

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Munich. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and all the flavors are incredible. I'd recommend the eggplant borani, the lentil soup, the chicken with almonds and raisins, and for dessert, the cardamom yogurt (I don't have photos because it's usually quite dark). Each dish is a culinary journey, and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommended!

Absolutely Phenomenal! A True Hidden Gem. I cannot recommend enough. Every single time I visit, the experience is truly exceptional. The quality of the food is consistently outstanding. Everything is prepared perfectly, and you can tell they use top-notch ingredients. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the impeccable customer service. The staff is genuinely warm, attentive, and makes you feel like family, not just a customer. The most unique and welcoming aspect is their payment process: they happily accept cash, and there's never any pressure to pay immediately. The 'just go and pay any time' atmosphere truly makes it feel like you are visiting someone's home-it's built on trust and comfort. This rare level of hospitality and excellent dining is why I have returned many times and will continue to do so. A huge 'wow' and thank you to the entire staff.

Chopan offers a very good selection of Middle Eastern dishes, freshly prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It can get quite crowded during peak hours, so you might want to make a reservation. Nevertheless, it's highly recommended for lovers of Middle Eastern food!

The best meal we had in Germany by far. So flavorful. Lamb was tender and not too gamey. Everything incredibly seasoned and portion sizes generous.

The food was good, but I only gave it two stars because they charged me €3.50 for tap water. I've never been ripped off for tap water in my entire life! I couldn't ask because my girlfriend paid the bill and didn't notice until later.

Very good. Tried the pumpkin entree and was delicious. For dish tried the Quabeli Palau ba Morgh with spinach (has cilantro!) and my friend the Quabeli Palau with eggplant. Both super good.

Fantastic Afghani cuisine. Their braised pumpkin with tomato sauce and yogurt is fantastic. All of their meats were grilled perfectly and tender. Their rice is cooked al-dente with a well balanced combination of spices and a hint of sweetness coming from nuts and dried fruits. They have a nice vegetarian menu in addition to their regular menu.

Last Thursday, we were invited to a dinner at Chopan Schwabing, and it was my first time experiencing an Afghan restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the manager warmly welcomed us and guided us to our table. He took the time to explain the restaurant’s concept and suggested some of their most popular dishes. He generously offered us three starters, three main courses, and a dessert to try, and even said, “If you don’t like any dish, just return it and I’ll replace it with another option.” That level of hospitality was truly impressive! The food went beyond my expectations — everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. It was a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend Chopan Schwabing to anyone visiting Munich who wants to enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine combined with warm hospitality.

Amazing food, flavorful, tasty and good portions. Some of the best we’ve had. And the best Afghani food. Despite waiting one hour from sitting to getting an order placed even drinks (other tables had the same problem), they were very busy and probably understaffed. The food was so good it didn’t matter and all of the staff here were very nice and helpful!

The food is so delicious. The appetizers include an amazing potato samosa. There's also an eggplant and labneh mixture that's so delicious.

Always delicious and has been for years

Great choice of food staples. We ordered random 3 vegetarian, all were great. Somewhat like unspicy Indian. Very busy quartier in the evening. We 3 dined on the curb. Reserved via confirmed email from the web site the day before but it did not seem 100% full on this weekday.

The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and quick. The restaurant isn't very big, and the seating isn't always great, but it's always acceptable. The food can be a bit spicier than expected.

Food is top notch! Service was disappointing, with a reservation we had to wait 10 minutes to sit outside, when seated had to wait another 10 min to get the menu as waiters were no where to be found. Then ordered another drink, had to go inside to ask for it again after 15 minutes, the waiter literally said “yeah it can also take 20 min”.

The staff were very nice. It took a little while for the food to arrive, but it was worth it because it was so delicious. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are filling. Overall, it gets 5 stars because it was simply too delicious.

The food is good, but the wait for service is quite long. Unfortunately, you can't pay by card, which is unacceptable these days. Our water bottles also had rubber corks, which makes you suspect they're simply refilling the water. €7.50 is too expensive for that and, of course, completely unacceptable. We won't be coming back.

Truly excellent and novel food - something different you don't get all the time. The host is amazing too, very welcoming and talkative. Rest of the staff did a great job as well, would come back any time.

This is my third visit to Chopan Schwabing and the food never disappoints. The flavours are incredible, portion sizes are generous and the service is friendly. Quite a small restaurant, so do book in advance, a great dining experience.

The food tastes excellent... I find the prices too high, which is why I haven't been back since my last visit. But it's still very tasty.

Very good food, large portions for fair prices (for the quantity and the location of the restaurant), very nice service. I also found the chairs to sit outside particularly comfortable and the location in Schwabing is unbeatable. I was very happy with the restaurant, would come again and would recommend it too!

Caution!!! I was served old food - meatballs had been nibbled on. I strongly assume that the leftover food (from other guests) was scraped off the plates and served to me. I'm still sick. The food is not fresh, but warmed up in the microwave. Flavor enhancer sends greetings.

The food was really good and the portions are big, definitely reasonable for the prices. The service was very friendly - I just find the ambience in Chopan am Gasteig a little nicer. I can highly recommend the eggplant starter and the grilled lamb. (After we ate in the restaurant, we also ordered from Wolt - unfortunately the portions were much smaller.)

I had gone a couple of days ago to the one near Gasteig (which I had visited before as well), but this weekend there were no reservations available, so we decided to try this branch instead. The food was excellent, but I noticed a few differences that caught my attention: first, the prices — about a couple of euros higher —, second, the Coca-Cola served here is the smaller version, and the yogurt sauce portion was less than half of what they offer at Gasteig. Additionally, it seemed to me that the menu at Gasteig is more extensive (or at least that was my impression). Although these details aren't a big deal, I was surprised to see such differences.

The food was very tasty. However, the service can be improved. Nobody took care of us other than ordering and bringing food. We were told that you can only pay with cash. The MA also told my friend where she should withdraw cash. Shortly before she wanted to leave, another employee came to her with a card machine. Then you can pay by card???? Sorry, but that's really borderline. We all know what this is about.
