Very good. Tried the pumpkin entree and was delicious. For dish tried the Quabeli Palau ba Morgh with spinach (has cilantro!) and my friend the Quabeli Palau with eggplant. Both super good.

Fantastic Afghani cuisine. Their braised pumpkin with tomato sauce and yogurt is fantastic. All of their meats were grilled perfectly and tender. Their rice is cooked al-dente with a well balanced combination of spices and a hint of sweetness coming from nuts and dried fruits. They have a nice vegetarian menu in addition to their regular menu.

Very good food, sometimes a bit spicier than I expected. The menu offers a wide selection, including numerous vegetarian dishes. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The wait was a bit long, but the pleasant ambiance outside made up for it. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.

Last Thursday, we were invited to a dinner at Chopan Schwabing, and it was my first time experiencing an Afghan restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the manager warmly welcomed us and guided us to our table. He took the time to explain the restaurant’s concept and suggested some of their most popular dishes. He generously offered us three starters, three main courses, and a dessert to try, and even said, “If you don’t like any dish, just return it and I’ll replace it with another option.” That level of hospitality was truly impressive! The food went beyond my expectations — everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. It was a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend Chopan Schwabing to anyone visiting Munich who wants to enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine combined with warm hospitality.

Amazing food, flavorful, tasty and good portions. Some of the best we’ve had. And the best Afghani food. Despite waiting one hour from sitting to getting an order placed even drinks (other tables had the same problem), they were very busy and probably understaffed. The food was so good it didn’t matter and all of the staff here were very nice and helpful!

The food is so delicious. The appetizers include an amazing potato samosa. There's also an eggplant and labneh mixture that's so delicious.

Always delicious and has been for years

Great choice of food staples. We ordered random 3 vegetarian, all were great. Somewhat like unspicy Indian. Very busy quartier in the evening. We 3 dined on the curb. Reserved via confirmed email from the web site the day before but it did not seem 100% full on this weekday.

The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and quick. The restaurant isn't very big, and the seating isn't always great, but it's always acceptable. The food can be a bit spicier than expected.

Food is top notch! Service was disappointing, with a reservation we had to wait 10 minutes to sit outside, when seated had to wait another 10 min to get the menu as waiters were no where to be found. Then ordered another drink, had to go inside to ask for it again after 15 minutes, the waiter literally said “yeah it can also take 20 min”.

The staff were very nice. It took a little while for the food to arrive, but it was worth it because it was so delicious. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are filling. Overall, it gets 5 stars because it was simply too delicious.

The food is good, but the wait for service is quite long. Unfortunately, you can't pay by card, which is unacceptable these days. Our water bottles also had rubber corks, which makes you suspect they're simply refilling the water. €7.50 is too expensive for that and, of course, completely unacceptable. We won't be coming back.

This is my third visit to Chopan Schwabing and the food never disappoints. The flavours are incredible, portion sizes are generous and the service is friendly. Quite a small restaurant, so do book in advance, a great dining experience.

The food tastes excellent... I find the prices too high, which is why I haven't been back since my last visit. But it's still very tasty.

Caution!!! I was served old food - meatballs had been nibbled on. I strongly assume that the leftover food (from other guests) was scraped off the plates and served to me. I'm still sick. The food is not fresh, but warmed up in the microwave. Flavor enhancer sends greetings.

The food was really good and the portions are big, definitely reasonable for the prices. The service was very friendly - I just find the ambience in Chopan am Gasteig a little nicer. I can highly recommend the eggplant starter and the grilled lamb. (After we ate in the restaurant, we also ordered from Wolt - unfortunately the portions were much smaller.)

I had gone a couple of days ago to the one near Gasteig (which I had visited before as well), but this weekend there were no reservations available, so we decided to try this branch instead. The food was excellent, but I noticed a few differences that caught my attention: first, the prices — about a couple of euros higher —, second, the Coca-Cola served here is the smaller version, and the yogurt sauce portion was less than half of what they offer at Gasteig. Additionally, it seemed to me that the menu at Gasteig is more extensive (or at least that was my impression). Although these details aren't a big deal, I was surprised to see such differences.

The food was very tasty. However, the service can be improved. Nobody took care of us other than ordering and bringing food. We were told that you can only pay with cash. The MA also told my friend where she should withdraw cash. Shortly before she wanted to leave, another employee came to her with a card machine. Then you can pay by card???? Sorry, but that's really borderline. We all know what this is about.

Gleich vorneweg: Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Ob Lamm gegrillt oder geschmort, es war vorzüglich. Was uns sehr gestört hat, war die Geschwindigkeit mit der wir "abgefertigt" wurden. Kaum stand der Aperitif auf dem Tisch wurde schon die Vorspeise serviert. Viel zu kurz darauf - der Aperitif stand immer noch am Tisch - kam der Hauptgang. Den Tisch kann man nur online buchen, in den bekannten Zeitslots. Wenn Sie in Ruhe essen wollen, ist der zweite Zeitslot nur zu empfehlen , andernfalls essen Sie gegen die Uhr - und da macht dann auch das gute Essen keine Freude.

The atomosphere is nice but it’s definitely not Authentic Afghan food. If you care about authenticity of food look somewhere else. And how do you justify the prices 🤦‍♂️

Afghan cuisine in general, and Chopan or Chopans in particular, is simply top-notch. The food is always a poem, so elegant, finely seasoned... highly recommended! Pumpkin as a starter, and spinach, eggplant... all very delicious.

The food is truly magnificent. A veritable explosion of flavors!! The pumpkin starters (slightly spicy) and the flatbreads filled with minced meat are highly recommended. For main courses, the numbers 33, 34, and 73 (super tender lamb) are absolutely recommended. The portions are really large. Also the Chopan water – very tasty! Based on the reviews, we made a reservation in advance, which definitely made sense. Upon entering, we were a little unsure whether we had made a mistake. No one noticed us or even greeted us. The ambiance is a matter of taste – I liked it, but my partner, for example, didn't. He found everything a bit too cramped and uninviting. Because the tables are double-booked, you sometimes end up standing around a bit awkwardly until your table becomes free, meaning there's no need to arrive earlier than your reserved time. What we were very disappointed about, however, was the service! We've rarely experienced such abysmally poor service. At first, we couldn't place a drink order for ages. Instead, it took forever to place it along with our food order. It took well over an hour for our drinks to finally arrive. If you wanted to order more drinks, you had to make yourself known. No one ever asked you proactively. Unfortunately, we also had to wait a very long time for the food. The staff seemed bored and unfriendly! It's a real shame; there's still room for improvement.

We were there in December in the side room. The service was very friendly. The food was carried from the main room to the side room. The food was OK, but nothing special. However, it was very expensive. The most unpleasant thing was the cold in this dining room. There was no heating, and we froze.

Anyone who knows authentic Afghan cuisine will unfortunately be disappointed here. The food has little to do with the original Afghan cuisine. The Kabuli-Palaw tastes almost exclusively of cinnamon, which neither does justice to the typical taste nor the color of a real Kabuli-Palaw. The soup (Ash) also didn't live up to expectations as it was made with Asian noodles. For Ash, there are special noodles available in Afghan supermarkets that are crucial for the authentic taste. I went there with friends to introduce them to Afghan cuisine, but unfortunately I was very disappointed.

I love Afghan kitchen, so I‘ve tried many Afghan restaurants in Munich. Chopan is by far the best in my opinion. Their marinaded eggplants are exceptional.

Die Qualität der Gerichte war sehr gut, der Service zuvorkommend und die Einrichtung authentisch. Wir waren zu viert zum Abendessen dort und haben für jeden Geschmack die passenden Gerichte gefunden. Die Portionen sind gut dimensioniert, so dass man zum Hauptgericht entweder eine Vorspeise oder ein Dessert wählen sollte. Drei Gänge sind zu mächtig für normale Esser.

Let me introduce the Afghan food this time - CHOPAN. It has three branches in Munich. We went to Schwabing near the English Garden. After eating, there was a YOLE GELATO, which cost 2 euros a ball. It is also good as an after-dinner dessert! If you are willing to try spices and beef and mutton, but feel that Indian food is a bit heavy, then Afghan food is an excellent choice. We ordered a beef pilaf. The steamed rice was filled with various spices, raisins, and carrots. It was quite amazing! The other was a grilled chicken pilaf. The grilled eggplant was a side dish. It tasted rotten and was also very delicious! During dinner, 2 people have 2 meals, 2 glasses of wine and 1 glass of specialty drink Chopan Wasser. Including the tip, it is 70 euros. I think it is worth it to have a delicious Afghan meal at this price!

Small and well-kept environment, attentive and very kind service. 2 of us went on Saturday night without booking and they managed to seat us quickly anyway. Amazing food. In one of the two rooms it is not possible to pay by card, but we were warned of this before being seated. I would definitely recommend to everyone and will happily return.

One of the worst Food experience I hat with any Afghan Restaurant, first it took long time to get Our Food, then it was cold, and at the end my cousin got food poisoning after that, he vomited 3 times, will never recommend anyone

I was in this restaurant for the first time yesterday! The food took a really long time to be brought to us, but it tasted incredibly delicious! A 10 out of 10! You're happy to tolerate the long waiting time ;)! As a starter we had pumpkin, which was really convincing as a vegetarian dish! It's also a "grandma dish", it can only taste good ;)! For the main course my friend had a chicken dish which tasted incredible! The chicken had a really delicious smoky aroma and was very spicy! Yummy! My dish with minced meat, coriander, yoghurt, etc. (specialties side) was also HIGHLY recommended! Really delicious!!! The reason I only give 4 stars is, on the one hand, the service, which either wasn't in the restaurant at all, sat bored at the free tables with cell phones or always told us that he would come to us straight away. On the other hand, the drinks (spritz) are watered down, so you hardly taste any alcohol and the fact that you CAN'T PAY WITH A CARD is really very strange! You are not informed of this at the beginning! Conclusion: I would definitely go there again for the food as it was really EXTREMELY tasty, but the service should be more attentive, e.g. for drink orders and the behavior should change a lot towards the customers! If you don't feel like doing the job, it's better to do something else professionally. Service requires passion!

Amazing amazing amazing food. I can not rave more about how delicious this food is. From the beef to the lamb to the chicken, everything is super tender and delicious. Every dish is filled with flavor from the spices and sauces provided. Best food in Munich by a mile and is a must visit if you are in town.
