Casita Mexicana in Düsseldorf

Even though I have to travel to Düsseldorf, it's a pleasure to try the food here. It's the closest thing to true Mexican food: corn tortillas, an explosion of flavors, salsas, and lemon. Spectacular. I know several restaurants in La Casita Mexicana, but this one is pitifully small. The prices are generally a bit high. Guys, bring a branch to Essen, you'd be a huge success 🙌🏻

If you want to eat something special in the old town of Düsseldorf, then this is certainly one of the better locations.

The food was very tasty, although you do have to wait a little longer than in Bilk, for example, but that's due to the central location in the old town. The decor is very cool!

Best tacos I've had in Germany. I come from SoCal so I was pleasantly surprised by the street tacos and salsa.

We've always had good food, but this time, despite the few customers, no one came to take our order. We specifically asked at the counter that we'd like to order, but no one came. The service was different!!! Absolutely unacceptable! We left. 🤷‍♂️

I ordered here via UberEats and there was a rock in my food that I unfortunately bit down on and broke off a piece of my tooth.

There was no mention of vegetarian on the menu card. Other than that food, drinks was good.

Really good! It was my first time at the shop, right in the old town. Very central - a small terrace facing the sidewalk and also on the first floor. As with all other Casita Mexicanas, the staff was super friendly and happy to recommend something or explain the menu. I had a burrito, which was great as always! Then I had 4 small tacos with a portion of rice (which is really big and easy to share between two people), which were also excellent. You should only order hot sauce if you like it spicy! 2 hot peppers (quite hot) 3 hot peppers (really hot) Authentic, just like in Mexico My drink was a hibiscus flower ice tea, and it was also very tasty. The price is absolutely right for the size and the taste. I'd be happy to come back. A new Casita is opening this year right next to the metro in Düsseldorf.

The most authentic Mexican food I've ever eaten. The food was crispy, fresh, spicy, and simply delicious. The lemonada was sour but also very fresh. The crepe Mexicana is a must-have 😍

I returned after years and was impressed again. Very authentic, delicious, and super friendly. This time with children, and our special requests were wonderfully accommodated!

Unfortunately, the food is no longer as delicious as it used to be; it tasted very bland and has lost its special character, which is really sad considering the prices.

The three of us got a table right away and had almost no wait for our food. We all ordered the burrito, and our food was ready within 15 minutes. The homemade drinks were also delicious and refreshing. The only downside was that the bottom of the burrito fell apart a bit. But that could be me. Overall, a nice restaurant with good food and friendly staff.

We ordered from the lunch menu and ate various burritos (one vegetarian with cactus leaves, one with chicken). This included, for example, one 0.33-liter bottle of water per person for a total of €13.90 each. Very fair price, very tasty, very friendly service - 100% recommendation. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo 🤦‍♀️

Da Reservationen nur telefonisch möglich sind, fiel diese recht schwierig aus. Es wurde jedoch durch den schnellen Service wieder wett gemacht. Die Nachos ist eine gute Portion und auch die Quesadillas sind super lecker. Das Rindfleisch war super. Trotz grosser Gruppe wurde das Essen praktisch gleichzeitig serviert. Gerne wieder.

Great atmosphere and amazing location! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s not exactly the most authentic Mexican food, but by far the best there is in Dússeldorf. The taste is still amazing, and stands out from the rest of the area.

Best Tacos and Margaritas in town.

I've been there a few times now – and it impresses me every time! The atmosphere is relaxed, a little bustling, but that's exactly what makes Düsseldorf's old town so charming. The food: truly delicious, whether you just want a snack or are really hungry. Yes, the prices aren't a bit high – but the quality is good, so it's totally fine for me. The service there is super friendly and attentive. In short: Whenever I'm in Düsseldorf, a visit here is a must!

The food was so good, best Mexican food i have ever tried in Germany. We ordered the tacos, the portion was a small but was definitely delicious. The burrito was amazing, so flavourful and i can definitely recommend the cactus beef. The highlight of the night was definitely the burrito and the brownie. Service was 10/10. Would definitely come back

A truly delicious, authentic Mexican restaurant in Düsseldorf!! It's nice and cozy inside (especially upstairs) and the service is very friendly. But what you really come here for...THE FOOD!!! It's simply too good, and you'll just want to come back again and again. I had the quesadillas filled with really delicious nopales (I highly recommend it to everyone). And if you haven't tried it yet, order the Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus water). It tastes so refreshing, perfect now in this heat. Once you drink it, you'll never want anything else. c: I really don't know what there is to complain about at this Mexican restaurant, NOTHING. So if you're in the mood for really delicious, authentic Mexican food, go here, right now!! The menu is also extremely friendly for veggies/vegans like me :) That's why you love Mexican cuisine. Hello! I'm Noah, and today I was in Düsseldorf's beautiful old town. My taste buds were taken to a whole new level—in a good way, of course. What I wasn't too pleased about was the price. As a poor student with a girlfriend who regularly abuses my account, some of the dishes are quite steep (quesadillas). Nevertheless, the dishes are really filling thanks to the delicious filling (I'm in love with black bean mousse). You should know...

Great place... always busy, so expect to wait a bit... but it's worth it... very tasty Mexican food. Prices could be a little lower, but it's okay :)

Good quality tacos and burritos. If you are hungry and want a nourishing lunch or dinner, that's the right place.

I am Mexican and I the food was really good. I liked it and it reminded me of Mexico :’) The michelada is very good and so are the quesadillas, I had to try tacos de rajas and they were delicious. I didn't try all the dishes but the ones I did, I liked them, good seasoning!

Very tasty and authentic Mexican restaurant at normal prices. As a vegetarian there was a nice selection, vegans will also find something. The food is also healthy and a welcome change from the usual offerings. The tacos (soft) and the burrito are highly recommended.

A really great Mexican restaurant that impresses across the board – both in terms of taste and concept. What's particularly pleasant is that you can put together your own dish: whether it's a burrito, tacos or other Mexican classics - you simply choose the basic shape and then have the flexibility to choose the filling, side dishes and sauces. This is not only fun, but also ensures that everyone gets exactly what he or she likes. The quality of the ingredients is consistently very good, everything tastes fresh and authentic. The tacos are particularly noteworthy – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with lots of delicious filling options. And: They are also available in a gluten-free version, which is a real highlight, especially for people with intolerances. In terms of taste, the gluten-free tacos are in no way inferior to the normal ones, which is really rare and very positive. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right here - the prices are more than fair for what you get. The portions are decent without being over the top, and you'll definitely leave full and satisfied. Another plus point are the drinks: In addition to classic soft drinks, there is also a nice selection of cocktails and other Mexican drinks. The cocktails we tried were really well mixed - not too sweet, nicely balanced and made with high quality ingredients. Here, too, you can tell that attention is paid to quality. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant that not only scores with delicious food, but also with a pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and a flexible concept. If you're looking for fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine - whether classic or gluten-free - you'll definitely find it here. I would love to come back!

Delicious good Mexican food in a nice atmosphere. Not too big and eating doesn't take long. So if you want to grab something quick Mexican food, definitely drop by.

Noisy, dirty menus, slow service - but nice food

The service was quick and friendly but that's no use when the portions are incredibly small and the prices are even higher. I left €30 and left just as hungry as I came. Both the appetizer quesadillas and main course tacos were tiny with minimal filling. In the photo there are beef steak strips that justify another €2 extra charge?

Love, love this place....it was close to midnight, so we did take out!! The food was fantastic!! The staff was amazing!! We were only in Dusseldorf for a few days....so of course we went back for lunch the next day. Was still amazing!! We will for sure be coming back on our next visit. 🤓🧡

The burrito for €12.90 was cheekily small. Not even rice and beans as a filling. I would actually only pay a maximum of half for that.

The food was very tasty. Burritos are recommended. However: We had nachos for 3 people as a starter, which at 18 euros was an outrageous price. The service is great, the staff is super friendly and on the ball. We had a table on the 1st floor and it was relatively noisy there from other guests.

The guy who welcomed us, who claims to be the manager, treated us very badly from the start, he didn't want to speak to us in another language, only German. I am a tourist and Spanish. I don't know German. I'm in the little Mexican house and they should at least speak English, I say, but they don't want to. He is very rude, then he tells us that we will have to wait 30 minutes or more to eat (my friend speaks German! Thank goodness!), then he wouldn't let us go to the bathroom either, then another guy comes who does speak Spanish and asks us to apologize for him, and it turns out that he does speak Spanish! Wow. Very bad image for Mexico!!!!

Had a great dining experience The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A special mention to the team leader who was warm hearted and engaging making the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a lovely experience would definitely go back

Über-popular cantina style Mexican Restaurant directly in Düsseldorf‘s Altstadt. Definitely reserve in advance! If not, you may just have to enjoy a margarita or beer while waiting in line for your table 😉 Wide variety of selections, including vegetarian options. Really tasty. Lively, loud atmosphere. Great place to start a night out in Düsseldorf.

The food was normal to be honest and it was salty. They say it’s a Mexican restaurant, but you would be lying to yourself. We ordered so called burrito and it’s just a thin wrap sandwich! No rice and very little beans inside. Who serves a burrito without rice? That’s just an insult!

We went in the evening around 16-17, when restaurants are usually empty, it was quite lively. A small and friendly place. The food is very delicious. We ate standard Nachos as a starter, a meat burrito and a meat and rice bowl with vegetables as a main course. Margarita was good too. If you don't care about the comfort and elegance of the environment but care about having a nice meal, I recommend it.

Very unfriendly staff. 0.5 cola was not carbonated. We told the unfriendly waiter that we didn't want any cheese. We said that not just once but several times. And what was on the food? Correct …. Cheese . The whole dish was poor quality and yes guacamole is not served warm. But not half frozen either. Too much money for this inferior food.

Tacos weren't even warm, weren't good, al pastor had hardly any flavor, pineapple was hard, but everything was really expensive. It tasted like convenience food. There were no Mexican beers there, except Corona. The service was slow, it took a while until we were served, even though there was almost no one in the store with us. That was nothing, can def. don't recommend eating there.

I would go here again and again whenever i have mexican food craving! Fast table waiting (5-10mins only) and wide variety of menu. Pair your food with margaritas? Just wow!

The two guys waiting on us were so friendly and helpful! The food was amazing. Margarita on the rocks also amazing. We were planning on getting mexican food in Germany but I’m glad we did. If you get tacos, select the Alambre meat!! Our waiter suggested it and it was definitely the best.

My favourite Mexican restaurant in Düsseldorf!! they have authentic Mexican food and drinks. I would recommend not coming at a meal time since it’s usually pretty packed. Although the portions are small, the food is great :)

The food was great and so was the ambiance, however we got our food with some strange timings. We were offered our main course both together with our starter, and BEFORE our starter. The server also expressed his annoyance that we wanted our main course after our starters, eventhough I believe that to be common knowledge
