Casita Mexicana Bilk in Düsseldorf

Can definitely recommend. Delicious food and nice staff. I'll definitely visit again.

Today, May 2, 2025, my partner and I ate at the Bilk Mexican casita, we were served by a very nice Spanish waitress who explained the entire menu to us in detail. I recommend the food, very delicious and very good service.

Food is good but lacks the Mexican spice! Service is nice and friendly. Ambience like a train station restaurant 🤷‍♂️

The service was good, everything was reasonably priced. The food was great, but the tacos were a bit dry and perhaps could have used some type of sauce on the side. The portions were of reasonable size. The atmosphere was nice too. Not too fancy, but definitely worth a visit if you're craving Mexican food. I'm usually very picky about restaurants, but I had a good experience with this one. Note: This is now closed and will reopen soon.

Good Mexican food, prices a bit expensive

Very tasty food and good drinks. Prices are okay and have increased over the years due to inflation - but no savings have been made on the quality of food and drink.

Everything is very rich. I recommend the Jaime quesadillas or the burrito with the cochinita pibil or wire filling. The lemonade shows that it is really homemade! I will return.

Unfortunately it was a disappointing visit this time. We have often eaten here in the past (including in the old town), but today the quality and price-performance ratio were not right. Not sure if it was the lunch special, but service was too stressed and a bit unfriendly. The burritos weren't seasoned well, barely had any salsa, and the iceberg lettuce was definitely "overrepresented." We didn't know that here before, which was a shame. Maybe it's advisable to stop by outside of the lunch specials.

Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The menu is clear, but there is enough choice for both vegetarians and meat lovers. I had the vegetarian Casita Mix plate. I can highly recommend it. I'll definitely be back ♥️

Delivery took over 2 hours. After 8 calls over this period, no one answered the phone. Not recommended!!

Very tasty dinner, nice atmosphere, very nice waiter. A single point of criticism: The chairs are all made of metal and have no cushion. It's really cold and uncomfortable to sit on, but there are great ways to solve this cost-effectively even for professional catering. Hence a star deduction. Otherwise great, recommended. Thanks!

Die Speisekarte und die Mittagskarte sind durchaus spannend. Die Qualität des Essens ist auch absolut okay. Nicht sehr einladend ist die Einrichtung mit kleinen Plastikstühlen wie im Kindergarten und Zugluft, sowie extrem kleine sanitäre Einrichtungen.

This is by far the best Mexican in all of Düsseldorf, if not Germany. If you want a recommendation: the frijoles refritas quesadillas with feta and, as a starter, the nachos with the three dips. Incredibly delicious! The service sometimes seems a bit rushed, but you can really understand it given how busy it is.

Good servings and taste. I've been to their other branches and I think this is the one that I least prefer because it's cramped and this time our food took almost a full hour to get served. We didn't have a reservation and they still let us sit but said we only have an hour. So if they take an hour to serve the food, what happens next? 🤦 Server was clearly doing their best to accommodate people and was nice enough. We were still able to eat our food already so hungry. The table beside us arrived way later but were served first? How strange! I think they should work on their turnover times, because for quesadillas and tacos those should take 15-20 mins max. Would go to their Pempelfort branch for more space, better service, and location.

I love the food! I always order the same thing every time and I've never been disappointed! The El Pastor tastes as authentic as in México!

I really liked the attention of the waiter who served me, my first time at this restaurant, the food was good but the best thing was the attention of the boy who served me. Good service and nice location, but the food gave me an upset stomach. Prices are also above average with relatively small portions (for example, with a burrito you have to order a lot of things like “rice” separately, which should actually be included as standard)

We are always very satisfied with the food and the staff. Here you will find traditional tacos and not Tex Mex - that is very rare in North Rhine-Westphalia and therefore a real enrichment.

Yummmmmy! Only downside is no hot sauce on the table. In mexico, there is always hot sauce on the table. Otherwise real authentic, real tasty. Homemade sauces are avaliable, a bit pricey, the habanero one will make you feel alive 😅

Food, drinks and service were great! Unfortunately it was a bit drafty and the chairs could be more comfortable. Feel free to come back at any time.

Sehr leckeres und authentisches mexikanisches Essen. Leider sind die Sitzplätze im vorderen Bereich etwas zugig und kühl, vor allem wenn ständig die Tür aufsteht. Dadurch, dass die Kasse und die Ausgabe aus der Küche direkt im Eingangsbereich sind, kommen ankommende Gäste oder Lieferanten oft nicht richtig rein und stehen lange in der offenen Tür. Vielleicht kann man das mal verbessern. Ansonsten wirklich super!

Ich hatte kürzlich die Gelegenheit, ein kleines, uriges Lokal zu besuchen, das mir aufgrund seiner charmanten Atmosphäre ins Auge fiel. Leider gab es einige Punkte, die meinen Besuch getrübt haben. Die Plätze an der Tür waren ziemlich kalt, was das Ambiente etwas unangenehm machte. Das Personal war freundlich, jedoch sprach ein Teil des Teams kein gutes Deutsch, was zu einigen Missverständnissen führte. Dadurch waren Empfehlungen aufgrund der Sprachschwierigkeiten nicht wirklich hilfreich. Die Vorspeisen waren jedoch ein Lichtblick – der Vorspeisenmix war schmackhaft und hat mir gut gefallen. Ich würde ihn auf jeden Fall wieder bestellen. Leider war ich von den Hauptspeisen enttäuscht. Die Portionen waren für den Preis zu klein und die Anrichtung wirkte lieblos. Geschmacklich kann ich keine Empfehlung aussprechen. Insgesamt war es für mich kein gelungenes Erlebnis, und ich denke, dass ich dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen werde.

The food was great, I can only recommend it to everyone. The mix platter in particular is made with a lot of love and tastes great. The service wasn't that good today. The staff is friendly, but we were moved twice even though I had reserved. All in all, I can still recommend it.

Wir waren mit unserem Team gestern Abend in der Casita und es war super! Die Cocktails vorweg waren so lecker, dass wir gleich eine zweite Runde bestellt haben. Vorspeisen waren top, Hauptgerichte ebenso (der Favorit bei allen: Nachos mit Käsesosse und Bohnen und Enchiladas), die Service-Mädels waren nett ohne nervig und die Tequila-Empfehlung traf unseren Geschmack. All-in-all ein schöner Abend!

I found the food extremely good, however it is very expensive and the portions are very small. I ordered 2 big quesadillas, ate them in less than 5 minutes and was still hungry afterwards. This is the first restaurant where I spent around 20€ and was still left with the feeling that it was not nearly enough food. A friend of mine I was with said the same thing about the portions being too small and was also still hungry after eating what he ordered.

Nice atmosphere, you think you've been in Mexico for a short time 🇲🇽 Great service, really on point! And the food was also very tasty. There is a parking space right in front of the door.

Clear recommendation!!! 🌮🌮🌮 Update from last visit 10/30/24: My unfortunately new and worse rating is due to the fact that the quality level of the Casita restaurant in Bilk has decreased significantly. My partner and I always enjoyed eating at the Casita in Bilk. A few years ago I also left an extremely positive review, including pictures, on Google. However, this no longer reflects the Casita in Bilk today. 1. Our waiter simply stopped serving us after we ordered the appetizer and drinks. So I had to attract the attention of a second waitress. 2. The quality of the starter, in our case "Trio", was no longer as usual. The three sauces provided were clearly reduced to a smaller size and very watered down/stretched, so that the taste was very disappointing. 3. Our main courses: Two quesadillas each with different fillings. - the fillings were significantly less (I was able to compare through the many visits and pictures that I always took at Casita) - the fillings were stretched with a high proportion of tomatoes - Due to the very high tomato content, the four "different" fillings tasted very similar4. the prices for the fillings have been increased significantly I could still understand the price increase since inflation has increased slightly. But lowering the quality and quantity is very customer-unfriendly. We really enjoyed going to the casita in Bilk and up until now there was no alternative for us because we didn't want one. Now we will look for another Mexican restaurant for our next “Mexican hunger”.

It was very tasty, the staff is very friendly, but it's cuddly factor. Because the tables are very close together. But it is very well received. People who are claustrophobic or don't want to be so close to other people should consider it. A mistake, though, because the food is mediocre.🤤🤤🤤

Unfortunately, our last visit to Casita Mexicana was very disappointing. Despite there being free seats inside, we had to sit outside in the cold weather. The staff was uncooperative and unfortunately also unfriendly - they were treated really rudely when we asked for a solution. No blankets, no accommodation, and no understanding was shown. It's a shame, because we always enjoy coming here, and the food was really tasty this time too. Unfortunately, this stay disappointed us very much.

The most Mexican I know so far. Was in México myself and it's very close. But be careful not to compare it with Germanized Mexican food. Price performance rather more expensive. Cocktails only interesting at happy hour - otherwise too expensive. Nice staff

Der Laden in Bilk ist recht klein und im vorderen Raum sehr laut. Das liegt daran, dass sich dort die offene Küche befindet. Das Essen ist hervorragend! Wir hatten Füllungen mit Hühnchen und Rind. Man kann unterschiedliche Würzungen des Fleisch wählen. Vor allem das Rind war authentisch wie in Mexiko gewürzt. Wir haben uns mit Freunden die Vorspeisenplatte geteilt. Diese war sehr reichlich und sehr lecker. Der Service ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hier passt alles, Essen, Atmosphäre und Service. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Small authentic and tasty Mexican with delicious tacos. The tacos may look small, but if you're moderately hungry, they're more than filling. Clear recommendation for the Nopales and Tinga! We were there on a Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. and there wasn't much going on. Accordingly, the food came quickly. In terms of price it was a few euros too expensive for me, if you're looking for value for money you should get either the quesadillas or the burrito.

Seven of us were there after work and enjoyed the evening. The food tasted so good that we ended up ordering a second portion.

So…just good and really Mexican and not heavy TexMex. I had tacos here and even though it's much easier to do it at a market in Mexico, for example, this is fresh, light, spicy, very tasty and, as you would expect, very Mexican. Very pleasing. I find it quite authentic and not so adapted. Ambience simple and just as appropriately authentic. I love it😀👍

The cuisine is certainly good but not outstanding either. "A la diabla" is imagined to be much spicier and more authentic, the cocktails take some getting used to. Although you can sit outside, the ambience is unfortunately unattractive.

The food was really very good and is worth recommending. Mexican really unbeatable I had the burritos and nachos as a starter, very nicely prepared :) The ambience is just a small restaurant but for me everything was harmonious :) The outside decoration suffers a bit but well 30 degrees and crispy lavender didn't make the food any worse :)

Very tasty and original Mexican food. The main language spoken in the kitchen is Spanish and everything is really flawless. Didn't have to wait long after ordering and wasn't even disappointed after a few visits.

As a team, we order relatively often and actually enjoy ordering from “Casita Mexicana”. But even though the food there is really delicious, we unfortunately have to point out the extremely disappointing service, which is in great need of improvement. During our last three pickups alone, Lieferando informed us that the preparation time was around 15 minutes. However, when we picked it up we discovered that the food wasn't ready or even being prepared and we had to wait an additional 45 minutes on site. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable, especially when we plan to have a communal meal during our lunch break. It is also difficult to communicate with on-site staff. Often we were "skillfully" ignored and the language barrier didn't make it any easier to clarify our concerns. It seemed as if no one felt responsible and in some cases we even received aggressive answers that we had to wait because the customers were ahead of us Eating place would have priority. We hope the restaurant works on these issues because the potential for great service is definitely there.

The food was super tasty and fresh. The prices are a bit higher than in other restaurant, but you get high quality food. Service and atmosphere are good. I would book a table.

Fresh food; quickly served. However I really dislike cilantro, which is why I choose a cilantro-free option. Unfortunately cilantro was added to all of the plates. Next time I will be specifically ask to not include cilantro.

Very small, very cute Mexican restaurant, it's always a bit like a vacation. The food is good but simple. We go there every now and then because the atmosphere is very nice.
