Casita Mexicana Bilk in Düsseldorf

The restaurant is quite small, and the tables are very close together. Unfortunately, during our visit, a Mexican/Spanish family was at the table opposite, making such a loud noise that I personally found it very disturbing. I couldn't enjoy my meal at all, which was actually very good. I probably won't visit this restaurant again.

I haven't been to Mexico yet, but I would like the food to be like here :-) Everything is delicious and quickly prepared.

We came here for lunch with our young daughter. The staff were super friendly and very helpful – no dirty looks or comments, even when our daughter was whining. Quite the opposite: They even gave her something to draw on so we could enjoy our meal in peace. The food was delicious, absolutely excellent value for money, and we were served quickly. We especially appreciated that they didn't charge for the extra warm milk for our daughter – a lovely gesture!

Can‘t recommend this place. This is the second time I try this place out. It is chaotic, the staff is unfriendly if not rude and not at all interested in their guests. Has the atmosphere of a cantine .

I used to enjoy eating here during my lunch break, but that's no longer possible. In my opinion, the service is often very unfriendly and unattentive. The lunch specials are no longer available as they used to be. Now you have to buy and pay for everything individually, but you weren't informed beforehand. It's a shame, even though I used to enjoy going there, because of these changes, I will now avoid the store.

Those who enjoy delicious Mexican food will definitely not be disappointed here. The ambiance is relaxed, but could be improved.

Burritos and Quesadillas are great.

We spontaneously went there for the first time today, and it was absolutely fabulous! We first had nachos with a variety of salsas, followed by a burrito and quesadillas. It was truly delicious! The meat was well seasoned and everything was well-filled. Simply delicious. The place is really cute, and the staff is very friendly. All in all, it was fantastic!

Definitely would recommend this place! Got quesadillas and takos to share for two and could not be happier with the decision to stop at this little and cozy spot. Ps. If you love hot food - ask for their chili sauce. It was to die for!

A bit unassuming at first glance. The food completely surprised me. The best guacamole I've had outside of Mexico (apart from my own). The rest of the food tasted exactly like what I've come to expect from Mexico. I've never eaten as well in a restaurant outside of Mexico as I have here! The service is authentic, and Spanish is spoken a lot here :-) If you're looking for service, good taste, and cheap prices, this is the wrong place. But if you're willing to pay a little more for the culinary delights, you won't be disappointed.

Best Casita in Düsseldorf. Haven't been in a year and still it was as I remember, perfect.

Not as hospitable as the other branches. It starts with the fact that the manager doesn't speak a word of German, nor does she speak business-like English. It's just a shame. There was less tuna cream than usual, and the burrito was disappointingly soggy. We were also asked twice in an offensive manner, "Have we paid yet?" The bill had already been settled long ago: €62, rounded up to €65 for two people. You simply expect more joy.

Visited here with my housemate on one of my last days here in Dusseldorf. Great food, this seems like a standard mexican food place serving staples. Their lemonade was quite good. Indeed like another reviewer mentioned, their burritos are more flatbread style, rather than a stretchy flour tortilla.

Everything was great! I highly recommend the burritos; the staff was friendly, and our order was ready within minutes. I'll be happy to come back.

We’ve been here many times, and most recently visited again last Tuesday. As always, the food was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming. The wide variety of vegetarian options makes it a fantastic choice for vegetarians. I especially love their tacos and the nacho bowl - both are delicious!

Came to dinner tonight and had a wonderful evening. The waiters were super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. One of the best burritos I’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back often. Must come here for true Mexican food!

I'm not much of a Mexican food fan, but I was absolutely thrilled with the food here. I had the quesadillas, and they were amazing! I haven't had such a delicious meal in a small restaurant in a long time. Highly recommended.

Somehow, it felt strange the second time. The prices have risen considerably, especially in relation to the portions, especially when no one is really full. Furthermore, the renovation has lost the unique flair. Now the store feels like any other commercial chain store. And unfortunately, the food tastes the same: mainstream. The always friendly staff doesn't help. It's a real shame!

It used to be good, but not since the renovations...the atmosphere was so-so and the service was extremely slow and inattentive...Bilk is no longer what it used to be...it's a shame we won't be back...we waited 40 minutes in an empty restaurant, no one asked anything or anything.

We ordered food there, and I strongly advise against doing so. Even though we ordered around 4 p.m., we had to wait over 90 minutes for our food. It's ridiculous! The original estimate was 35 to 40 minutes, and then it kept getting later. The food was cold when it arrived, and the cheese was just a tough lump. It was barely edible. To then be charged almost €40 for this, including the delivery and service charge, is simply outrageous! We'll never order from here again.

Loved the atmosphere, reminds me of one of those Mexican restaurants from the West Coast! Great corn tortilla, recommend tacos con pastor! Would def come back for happy hour cocktails!

The food is fine. It’s a chain so the taste is same all around. But the location is kind of cramped. We had 2 baby strollers and so it was very hard for them to accommodate us. The baby high chair was the cheapest I have ever seen. We weren’t sure if our 10 months baby would sit firmly. It was too shaky. But the staff was nice. The food came in decent time.

Good food in itself, but... We went there specifically because of the vegan options and specifically ordered vegan quesadillas. The food arrived, but it was filled with cheese – we only noticed this when we ate it. The quesadillas were returned, and we received a new meal, this time vegan. No apology from the wait staff, no discount... Unbelievable response. Mistakes can happen, so please handle them accordingly.

The food is very tasty. The atmosphere on the main street with the tram isn't quite as good. But it's easier to get there by car than in the old town.

Unfriendly staff who approached me for no reason. Also, the restroom wasn't clean (urine on the toilet seat and feces in the toilet).

If you love Mexican food, this is the place for you. The quesadillas were the best I've ever had. The cheese was toasted crispy and the pork was perfect. If I lived in Dusseldörf I would be broke from going there all the time. Highly recommend.

The food was really good and reasonably priced. What I found unpleasant was that the water bottles weren't sealed and looked pretty damaged. Therefore, one has to assume they're filled with cheap water (perhaps even from the tap). That's completely unacceptable and is a rip-off of guests. NO GO!

Super expensive for tiny portions! You pay €10-15 for a quesadilla and get a barely filled bag. It won't fill anyone up! It's often so burnt that I had to send it back! A real shame!

Nice place for lunch, friendly service

It's quite small and cramped, which also makes it quite loud and hectic. You can enjoy it and call it "atmosphere," but you can also find it annoying. The staff are super friendly and very attentive. The food is consistently delicious to very delicious, although it's mostly simple, plain dishes and not for those with a big appetite; more like slightly larger snacks. Value for money, including the drinks, is hmmmm okayyy.... Reservations are every 90 minutes, by the way, and the food comes out so quickly that you can easily manage.

Despite having a reservation, we had to share a table with others, even though there was plenty of space throughout the restaurant. The seats were very close together. The food was delicious, 5 stars for that.

I had a burrito with nopales (cactus) at Casita Mexicana. The burrito was good, but it was closer to a flatbread than a burrito, and I prefer to see a round, bulky burrito. Also, I didn't feel any specific cactus taste. I'll give them a try again though when I can.

This is authentic mexican food. Highly reccomended!!

Phone goes something like this: *click* someone picks up “…” *loud background noise* “Hello, is there someone, I would like to order something” "… Hello" “Yes hello, I would like to order 2 nacho burritos and pick them up in 20 minutes” “…” "Hello?" “Yes… 1 nacho burrito, I’ll ask if you can pick it up.” “Stop… No. 2 Nacho Burrito.” *Loud background noise* "Hello, did you hear? 2 Burrito" “…” “Ok 2 Nacho, we can do it” “Thank you very much, I’ll be back in 20 minutes” “…yes…your name please” “Joachim” *pause* “Yeah…please again” “Joachim” “…Um…yeah…can you spell please?” "Yeah, sure. J-O-A-C-H-I-M" *pause* "Joak? Please again" “JOACHIM” “… Please spell it once” "J! O! A! C! H! I! M!" “…” “Do you have it?” *loud background noise* "...I'll make 2 burritos. See you soon" Sorry but the following options: 1) new better telephone system 2) Move the telephone system to a quieter place 3) Employees who answer the telephone must receive training beforehand P.s. Today, May 2, 2025, my partner and I ate at the Bilk Mexican casita, we were served by a very nice Spanish waitress who explained the entire menu to us in detail. I recommend the food, very delicious and very good service.

Food is good but lacks the Mexican spice! Service is nice and friendly. Ambience like a train station restaurant 🤷‍♂️

The service was good, everything was reasonably priced. The food was great, but the tacos were a bit dry and perhaps could have used some type of sauce on the side. The portions were of reasonable size. The atmosphere was nice too. Not too fancy, but definitely worth a visit if you're craving Mexican food. I'm usually very picky about restaurants, but I had a good experience with this one. Note: This is now closed and will reopen soon.

Came for late lunch. The food was extremely tasty. Top grade. The premises of the restaurant can be a bit cleaner tho.

Unfortunately it was a disappointing visit this time. We have often eaten here in the past (including in the old town), but today the quality and price-performance ratio were not right. Not sure if it was the lunch special, but service was too stressed and a bit unfriendly. The burritos weren't seasoned well, barely had any salsa, and the iceberg lettuce was definitely "overrepresented." We didn't know that here before, which was a shame. Maybe it's advisable to stop by outside of the lunch specials.

Everything is very rich. I recommend the Jaime quesadillas or the burrito with the cochinita pibil or wire filling. The lemonade shows that it is really homemade! I will return.

Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The menu is clear, but there is enough choice for both vegetarians and meat lovers. I had the vegetarian Casita Mix plate. I can highly recommend it. I'll definitely be back ♥️

Die Speisekarte und die Mittagskarte sind durchaus spannend. Die Qualität des Essens ist auch absolut okay. Nicht sehr einladend ist die Einrichtung mit kleinen Plastikstühlen wie im Kindergarten und Zugluft, sowie extrem kleine sanitäre Einrichtungen.

Very tasty dinner, nice atmosphere, very nice waiter. A single point of criticism: The chairs are all made of metal and have no cushion. It's really cold and uncomfortable to sit on, but there are great ways to solve this cost-effectively even for professional catering. Hence a star deduction. Otherwise great, recommended. Thanks!

This is by far the best Mexican in all of Düsseldorf, if not Germany. If you want a recommendation: the frijoles refritas quesadillas with feta and, as a starter, the nachos with the three dips. Incredibly delicious! The service sometimes seems a bit rushed, but you can really understand it given how busy it is.

Good servings and taste. I've been to their other branches and I think this is the one that I least prefer because it's cramped and this time our food took almost a full hour to get served. We didn't have a reservation and they still let us sit but said we only have an hour. So if they take an hour to serve the food, what happens next? 🤦 Server was clearly doing their best to accommodate people and was nice enough. We were still able to eat our food already so hungry. The table beside us arrived way later but were served first? How strange! I think they should work on their turnover times, because for quesadillas and tacos those should take 15-20 mins max. Would go to their Pempelfort branch for more space, better service, and location.

I really liked the attention of the waiter who served me, my first time at this restaurant, the food was good but the best thing was the attention of the boy who served me. Good service and nice location, but the food gave me an upset stomach. Prices are also above average with relatively small portions (for example, with a burrito you have to order a lot of things like “rice” separately, which should actually be included as standard)
