CAPOLINO in Scharbeutz

We were there in March and did it again in November because it was so delicious, we can only recommend it...

One of the most beautiful restaurants in Scharbeutz. Great Italian cuisine and great service. The ambience is a dream and we had an enjoyable, wonderful evening. 100% recommendation

Were here for the first time today. Had a cocoa. Super tasty, I have to say. The price is a bit high (€6.90) but still completely ok. You're on vacation. Very warm welcome. Great sea view. The table and benches were heated. Mega 😍😍 I've never seen or experienced it anywhere else. Definitely not the last time here

Normally I rarely write reviews... but today I can't control myself. I can only congratulate everyone who has rated Das Capolino with 5 stars. Other staff were probably present. First of all, basically: the restaurant definitely looks very attractive and can even score points with a few tables outside, which can also be heated in colder weather. So far, really great! Unfortunately, in my opinion, the staff is underground. This referred to a younger female waitress. I can't judge the rest of the staff. I would like to judge the food. But unfortunately it didn't happen 🙈 What happened you ask yourself...!? So, since we arrived at the Baltic Sea relatively late, we decided to just go to the Capolino, as it was right next to our hotel. So we went into the restaurant and asked for a table inside. Unfortunately, according to the waitress, everything inside was reserved. She pointed us to the heated outdoor area, which we accepted because that area also looked great. And then… nothing happens at first…. Nothing at all. After 20 minutes I went in to try to order drinks and get menu cards so we could choose something to eat. Because we were no longer noticed by the waitress outside. When I went in, she came up to me and asked me what I wanted. (I guess I couldn't remember myself). I asked her if it was possible to get meal tickets and if so. Order drinks. She then handed me the cards, completely annoyed. In a way I then asked her what the problem was. I would wait outside for 20 minutes. She just reacted rudely. When I then said that it wasn't full, I was again rudely replied that she had a different opinion and that when she had time, she would come out. So sorry. The store isn't that big. There were still empty (yes, but reserved) tables inside and two tables outside were occupied. There was another waiter working on the right side. Dear Capolino Management. When I read some of the reviews here and take into account some of the stories I've heard from friends, then it might make sense to reconsider some of the personnel. Sound definitely makes the music in the restaurant industry and no matter how great a restaurant's location is, at some point a boomerang always comes back. Just a little tip. I was also at home in the catering industry for a long time. Because of this behavior today, I will definitely ignore this restaurant in the future! There are other restaurants in Scharbeutz where people are still happy when customers come in and where the service is still as it should be!

I rated the food 5 stars. Was super tasty. And we would like to give the waitress DANIEL 10 stars. Very friendly, competent, attentive, accommodating and makes you feel like a guest. Very, very great. Daniel, you are a very fine person.

We really liked the location. The pizzas were very carelessly prepared and didn't taste fresh either. Since we are real tiramisu lovers, we were super disappointed that there was no more that evening and we really weren't there that late in the evening. There were also none of the only Italian chocolate drinks on the menu, which we found quite sad for an Italian restaurant. The service also left a lot to be desired. We had ordered a bottle of wine, which was never brought to the table. After waiting a little longer for it, we decided not to say anything more about it because we already had water and other drinks had. Serving a pizza on two plates cost us €2 extra…

From the initial contact to our dinner yesterday with a small drink surprise for the aforementioned anniversary, to the spontaneous dinner today, we can't say anything negative. This view, the food, the perfect, friendly and open-hearted service, everything is great. We have found our absolute favorite restaurant. Only recommended. We were guests in Scharbeutz with our Upper Franconian dog club over the long weekend at the beginning of October and felt incredibly comfortable on the Baltic Sea. We ate at Capolino on two evenings, and that wasn't a problem at all, even with the many dogs (with a reservation of course), the previous telephone contact was extremely friendly. Thank you very much for that! Four-legged friends have plenty of space under the tables or on the side. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere was great and the service was super friendly.

If you want to sit exclusively on the dike with a view of the Baltic Sea, then it will cost a little more. Friendly staff. Great service

I was there for the third time because the atmosphere there is simply great, if you sit at the window on the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. Unfortunately the service is not good. Unfortunately, that was always the case on my three visits, you get the feeling that they don't actually want you there. Despite making an online reservation and asking by phone, we weren't in the book. Then we waited 20 minutes until our food/drink order was taken. We waited about 45 minutes for the 3 pizzas. The table next door was less lucky, 1 1/2 hours waiting and cold food. That's just too long! Pizza tastes very good there.

Casual atmosphere. Chilled music and a wonderful view. A plus on vacation! And now warmed benches and tables. Really comfortable and cuddly 😃

Ordered food at short notice. Ready for pickup at the agreed time. The temperature of the food was still great after 5 minutes of driving - pasta al dente! Salmon and bolo were super tasty, including separately packaged freshly shaved parmesan and fresh bread. Super tasty and worth the price too!

Beautifully decorated Italian restaurant with sea views. The service was very friendly, the cake was good. In terms of price, however, it is in the upper category. For a 2 piece of cake and 2 small coffees €21.30. For comparison, we ate 2 medium coffees, 1 latte and 2 homemade cakes for €17.30 elsewhere.

Not recommended!!! When we asked, the food was finally brought to us after 45 minutes... without any apology. The restaurant wasn't full, so I don't understand the long wait. Food was ok.

Our absolute recommendation when staying in Scharbeutz. We've eaten there several times and have absolutely nothing to complain about. We were there with our visitors from Australia, who were also very enthusiastic. We were very surprised that we were greeted very personally on our third visit. On our last evening we received a drink as requested from “our” very friendly waiter as a farewell gift. Thank you very much for these great evenings in a very nice atmosphere, outside with a seat/table/and underfloor heating….sensational!!!

Three months later, we unfortunately have to change our rating. Unfortunately, the new pizza maker isn't that good at it (soggy dough, lots of cheese and not much toppings), and the Tonno salad doesn't match the price. It's a shame, 3 months ago we gave it 5 stars, now it's only suitable for 3 stars. Old review: Very nice, modern atmosphere. The pizza dough is excellent, thin and great taste. The pasta dish tasted perfectly. We'll be back!

We celebrated a friend's birthday in Cappolino and every dish was incredibly delicious! Chef Christoph personally came to us and asked if our food was tasty! The waiter spoke French👌 I recommend this restaurant!

Popped in for “lunch”…! Delighted with this, two more times for dinner. Thank you for bringing such simple dishes to perfection! Not only the ambience but also the selection of “plates” is carefully chosen! The food is of very good quality, the homemade pasta is excellent, the pizza is a poem! The exception is the prices for the wines (a bit too expensive), but they go very well with the food. The service is also worth highlighting! Very caring about the guest and knowledgeable about the dishes they bring to the guest! Thank you for that!!!!

We were at Capolino on a Saturday evening, had a nice table number 107 and ate with two people for €85. The food was ok, nothing special but ok. Unfortunately the service was zero. I think everyone who works in a restaurant should already have the basic knowledge of waiting tables. First our drinks went to the wrong table, then the starter, then we didn't have any cutlery for it, which we then got in our hands without a napkin. No asking if we were happy with the starter. The second drink was placed at the next table, then taken away from the guests and then served to us. Then came food that wasn't for us. Then came our second course, again without cutlery and no question as to whether we liked it. We were served by three different people, so the lack of knowledge wasn't just the fault of a single waiter. We then paid in front of the empty plates.

We treated ourselves to a couple of piña coladas at the cocktail bar, which were also very well mixed. Very tasty and like being on holiday in Italy! 🇮🇹 Price was 12 euros, but it was ok! The bartender was very friendly and nice. Class 👍🏼

Had lunch here and tried pasta with tuna. Unfortunately I wasn't quite happy with it as the olives were probably from the jar (at least that's how they tasted). The tuna also tasted like canned fish. That's why I don't think the price for the dish is justified.

Was disappointing. Drinks and starters were served relatively promptly. In between, other guests were asked whether everything was OK. Unfortunately we were “overlooked”! After 3/4 hours, we were informed upon our own inquiry (!) that our food was not even being prepared because we had forgotten to tell the waitress in charge (when clearing away the starter). She must have walked past our table 4-5 times in the meantime and could have simply asked. Unfortunately there is no recommendation.

We came here spontaneously and got a table right outside at the bar. Super! The ambience is good. Service: friendly at the table, but also used as a meeting point for employees to exchange ideas privately. Food didn't come at the same time and we found prices to be high. E.g. bottle of water for €9. But the taste is ok. No greeting in advance.

The ambience is quite nice on the beach. Pizza Tonno for €17.50 is way too expensive and tastes very bad. Cola Zero 0.2 for €3.50 is also way too exaggerated. The staff doesn't pay any attention to you... doesn't ask if you want dessert or if everything is okay etc. not recommended

A week in Scharbeutz and ate there twice for lunch with the 3 year old. Fast ordering, friendly staff, brilliant equipment and great atmosphere! Modern, friendly and courteous staff. Food came relatively quickly and was extremely tasty. Price-performance ratio: for the quality, the price is actually too cheap. Any time! Terrific!

The location is really really nice. We hit a corner where unfortunately the staff didn't come often, or at least not the ones responsible for us. It was probably similar to the table next door. The food was delicious, but we waited 40 minutes for our dessert and even asked twice, but nothing arrived :( The bill then took a very long time. Even though there wasn't much going on.

We ate there as a family. Magnificent water views. We ordered pizza. Since my daughter can't do much, we asked for a robber plate. This is charged at €2 there?! We found it very unusual. We haven't had to do that anywhere before.

We didn't eat, but relaxing on the beach in the evening with a view of the sea is definitely possible here

Very friendly service. Nice ambience in a winter garden. Very nice furniture, good, indirect lighting in the evening. All dishes tasted good and were good value for money. Good selection of drinks at normal prices. We were there in the dark, during the day, right on the Baltic Sea, definitely very beautiful. You can also have breakfast here. Points deducted: It was very cold in the room and I had to put my coat around my back.

There were three of us at Capolino. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't seem to be in a good mood that evening. In two out of three dishes the pasta wasn't even lukewarm. Not a full score for the prices quoted and the service received. A pity.

Went there early in the afternoon for a drink, we really enjoyed it and wanted to reserve a table by the window for the evening, it wasn't possible as they don't reserve any fixed seats, we should come and then see what was available. We didn't want to. The next day in the evening we wanted to try our luck, but there were reservation signs on the free tables, so we felt a little put off and went somewhere else.

Salad was outdated and musty. Burnt goat cheese. After complaining, I got the same lettuce back - a burnt piece of goat cheese was cut off and a few bad lettuce leaves were sorted out. Koch became aggressive and abusive.

I had a wonderful time here. After Denny's recommendation and good service, I would come back there at any time. Here I was able to have a delicious pizza and very tasty cocktails. The lounge also had wonderfully heated seating. Very pleasant atmosphere, with a view of the beach.

We wanted to reserve a table for 4 people on July 19, 2024. What a woman said on the phone: We don't make reservations - just come along. We ended up eating outside without a reservation (because there isn't one) on July 20, 24 at around 5 p.m. Strangely, the first row of tables were all reserved - picture attached. No conclusive explanation could be given - just stammering - interesting. We ordered 3 pizzas and a pasta dish. The pasta dish arrived - the rest was a long time coming. The waiter also noticed this 15 minutes later - the explanation was: The pizzas were ordered somewhere else via radio - there was a transmission error. Another 5 minutes later 2 pizzas arrived - 1 more was still missing; We had already heard the reason: a transmission error. A few minutes later the last dish arrived. After we all ate one after the other, we paid after about 90 minutes - half of the reserved seats in the first row were still free. While we were there, various guests were turned away despite additional empty seats. The food was ok - but nothing more. The organization is absolutely chaotic and in no way hospitable. We won't be coming back.
