Cafe Weise in Düsseldorf

Friendly staff, but a bit chaotic, tight seating. The burger was great (medium rare!), side salad was poor. We are around 40 people, but despite long before reservation, they had problems to handle this. Larg time span between serving first and last people.

This place has a truly fantastic atmosphere. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and the food selection is absolutely amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend that everyone stop by.

It's actually quite nice there, but only when it's not crowded... because then you can't even hear your own voice. The waitresses (the men) could be a bit more attentive (they walked past our empty glasses at least five times). The chairs on the outdoor terrace are very uncomfortable, just like the chairs inside. Restrooms, okay – dark, doors broken or locked somewhere far below.

We were sadly disappointed with our visit to Café Weise. Although we arrived at 7 p.m. and received our drinks quickly, our food order was apparently completely forgotten. After waiting for almost an hour and a half, we were informed that the food had never been credited. A brief apology, but no offer of compensation or any concession. In the end, we paid €37.40 for the drinks and left the place hungry and dissatisfied. Perhaps it was an isolated incident, but for us, it was a clear disappointment. Hence only one star.

A lovely café with a cozy atmosphere. Whether it was for a cocktail in the evening or breakfast in the morning, I enjoyed going to Café Weise as a tourist.

Personally, I found the food far too greasy. The vegetables were swimming in grease, the salad dressing was too much and too oily. The Coke was barely carbonated. However, the service was quick and friendly.

The ambiance is neat and modern. The service is attentive and friendly. However, the food is by no means better than that of a third-rate cafeteria. The soup was very floury and creamy, with very little flavor, and only a hint of mushrooms. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was no better. While it was large, it was unfortunately dry and tough. Absolutely not recommended.

A spontaneous visit. We were accepted just before closing time. The food and drinks arrived very quickly. The atmosphere is cozy. The server is friendly. The portions are generous. I'd be happy to come back next time I'm in Düsseldorf.

Von außen nett und innen auch ok und eine Empfehlung des Hotels, aber dann…. Die Karten waren nicht nur zerfleddert und abgegriffen, auch irgendwie themenlos. Klar, es gab eine Spargelkarte mit Flammkuchen und Schnitzel mit Spargel etc. und es gab Salat, Nudeln, Fleisch in allen Varianten. Wir haben den Flammkuchen probiert - gibt es vlt auch schlechter aber schmeckte wie Blätterteig vom Aldi mit Belag. Die Cocktails schmeckten nach Fertigmischung, das geht alles irgendwo anders viel besser. Schade.

My parents had dinner there last weekend and they really praised the staff but especially the staff there! The only small negative point would have been the music in the restaurant, which was too loud for them. But otherwise they would go there again and again :)

You receive a very friendly welcome, there is a varied menu and interesting drinks menu, delicious cakes are also offered, even the coffee is a pleasure :-) The atmosphere is relaxed, very cozy with pleasant background music. Particularly noteworthy is the highly ambitious, very attentive staff. The Café Weise has been an integral part of Düsseldorf's Bilk district for decades, directly opposite the Jazzschmiede and is an enriching meeting place for young and old!

Ich hatte als Vorspeise eine Bruschetta meine Frau Tomaten-Mozzarella-Salat mit frischem Basilikum und Brot Als hauptspeise hatte ich Argentinischer gegrillter Rumpsteak 200g mit grünen Böhnchen, Pommes und Kräuterbutter bei mir war alles gut hat geschmeckt konnte man essen aber meine Frau hatte Weise Penne Special mit Hähnchenstreifen, Paprika, Champignons in Hausgemachter Sahnesoße leider waren die hähnchenstreifen schlecht die waren schon verdorben wir haben bescheid gesagt der Kellner ist gekommen hat den Teller mitgenommen meine Frau hatte natürlich keine Lust mehr zu essen wir haben bezahlt und den Teller haben wir trotzdem bezahlt obwohl er schlecht war also nie wieder hin das Fleisch war verdorben habe ich probiert

I had dinner at Café Weise with my wife and we really enjoyed it. I had the “Weise Penne Special” with chicken strips, peppers, mushrooms and cream sauce. The portion was just right and the sauce tasted really delicious. My wife had the sea bream fillet with herb sauce and Mediterranean vegetables. The fish was fresh and the vegetables were nice and crunchy - everything was well prepared. The service was friendly and the atmosphere in the cafe is relaxed. Overall, a nice evening, we will definitely come back again.

We wanted to eat here, after we had received the menu, 1 of which only consisted of 5 of the same menu sheets, we were already asked what we wanted to order?? I think you first ask what someone wants to drink, so I indicated that we wanted an aperitif first, my husband wanted a Campari "without ice" and I, as stated on the menu, a port... the waitress responded to a way, what are you talking about, show her the card and point to it, I don't think she had ever heard of port, otherwise I would say a medium sherry, it was above it, she comes back to tell me that she doesn't have either, okay then what do you have well, she says campari!! I say never mind and then she comes with 2 campari...WITH ICE CREAM!!! Okay, if you don't treat your customers seriously like that, I'm done, we didn't order any food here and luckily we found a lovely restaurant further away where we were served nicely and had a delicious meal!! Wonderful Christmas atmosphere! The restaurant was festively decorated, the food was wonderfully hearty, and the atmosphere was simply magical.

Dårlig lugt, da vi trådte ind, og vi fortrød at vi ikke gik med det samme. Men vi gav den en chance. Betjeningen var meget afstumpet, og maden var ikke noget som vi kan anbefale. Vi fik begge steaks, og de var små tørre og kedelige. De brasede kartofler var halv kolde og ligeledes var bøffen. Vi kommer der ikke i gen.

In summer there is an outdoor area on Himmelgeister Straße. One star deducted for the ambience because it is not barrier-free.

Cozy and attractively furnished, super friendly and attentive service. Nice menu, also interesting daily specials such as pumpkin ginger soup and black noodles with mussels or salmon. Everything worked out great and tasted great, reasonable prices. Tip top clean. Around 7 p.m. it was still a bit noisy due to the occupation, but then it quieted down. Luckily the music is also quieter in the restaurant area.

Als wir Samstagabend gegen 21 Uhr das menschenleere Restaurant betraten, wurde und vom Kellner die Speisekarte vorgelegt. Auf unseren Wunsch, nur zwei Cappuccino trinken zu wollen, wurde uns vom Kellner mitgeteilt, dass die Kaffeemaschine bereits ausgeschaltet sei...

Absolutely great. For two people (starter and main course with drinks) just under €50. Really big portions, friendly staff and really tasty. I would absolutely recommend.

Today I went to Café Weise for dinner for the first time after a cultural event. The attractive ambience is a successful combination of contemporary and classic furnishings. The menu is very extensive and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. There is indoor and outdoor dining. Access to the interior of the café is not entirely barrier-free, but can also be easily managed with a stroller or walker. The prices are reasonable. Recommended.

Been there several times over the summer months and have always been satisfied. The food is delicious and the service is good. Last time around 2 weeks ago I wasn't that impressed with the service but especially with the food. I don't know what was going on there, maybe it was the new staff, but it didn't blow me away that day. Somehow the Thai curry was bland and the vegetables were soggy. The chicken included was rubbery and not as tender as usual. Whatever was going on, I hope it was a one-off.

Staff very friendly. Drinks arrived well chilled and/or warm. Just like it is usual for coffee and cola. I didn't eat anything there. But what I saw looked very tasty and fresh.

Wie öfter schon sind wir zum Weise gegangen, um nah und unkompliziert eine Art Abend mit normal leckerem Essen und Trinken zu erhalten. Die Speisekarte liest sich durchaus attraktiv. Aber Vorsicht! Was dann aus der Küche - verdächtig zu schnell - geliefert wird, ist kein frisch gekochtes Gericht, sondern eher eine Zusammenstellung, mindestens beim Fleisch mit Convenienceware. So entpuppt sich ein so genannter „Grillteller“ als Verbindung von Standardsalat und Standardsalatsoße mit mittelprächtigen Bratkartoffeln und…Fleischstückchen von etwa sechs Zentimeter Durchmesser, überschüttet mit Pfeffersoße. Das gleiche Bild beim „Rosmarinhähnchen“: Gleicher Salatmix und Dressing, gleiche Bratkartoffeln, aber diesmal halt irgendwelche Hähnchenstücke unter einer niemals selbstfabrizierten Soße. Ich habe wirklich selten so eine unambitionierte Küche erlebt. Die Konsequenz für mich ist, dass ich dort sicher nicht wieder essen werde. Davon abgesehen wurde beim Bier erst gar nicht gefragt welche Größe gewünscht wird, sondern gleich der halbe Liter gebracht. Das ist unhöflich. Als i-Tüpfelchen gab’s dann auch noch deftigen Zigarettenqualm, der durch die offene Eingangstüre bis in den hinteren Laden zog…ah, das kam vom Kellner, der direkt neben der Tür stand und rauchte. Schade!

Visiting my sister and Düsseldorf, our first meal couldn't have been better, a very late lunch. My schnitzel is super crispy and has good quality meat, very generous! I haven't even had dinner yet 😁 The rest of the dishes too! Fantastic beer. Everyone super friendly! Absolutely a place to visit and enjoy! Congratulations!

We had fond memories of the cafe (also for eating) and came back here for lunch today. It was full, but we still found a table. Two employees (visibly quite stressed) were serving at the front, I don't know what it looked like in the kitchen. There were obviously problems with a large group sitting at the back, food being returned, heated discussions, etc. We ordered and waited almost an hour (!) for our food. The burger was good, the fries were also crispy and hot, the Jägerschnitzel was just ok, but seemed to be a convenience product, the fried potatoes were already cold when served and the asparagus was good and not fibrous, but the sauce was a finished product, which actually doesn't work at all. I understand that you simply can't serve so many tables satisfactorily with two people (the boys tried really hard too), but then you have to think about it and maybe change the concept. Unfortunately, today was quite a disappointment and we won't be back any time soon... But keep our fingers crossed that this was just an isolated incident.

Authentic, delicious and very friendly staff! I used to live close by and always enjoyed breakfast there. But also ate a little something or just drank something there. I no longer live in the immediate vicinity, but I still enjoy coming here. What I think is good is that there is a fairly large vegetarian selection - at breakfast, but also in the hearty dishes. I can particularly recommend the veggie burger. But I also really enjoy eating the Weise salad (with fried potatoes and fried eggs). Even if it's no longer called Salat Weise on the menu ;).

I used to be a regular customer here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm. But things have been going downhill for some time 🙄 On Saturday I ordered a pepper schnitzel, unfortunately the sauce was completely inedible 🤢 Three quarters of the portion went back. But I came back. Today I wanted to enjoy a passion fruit aperitif - it wasn't available. Then I ordered a cordon bleu. That part was a joke. Not "folded", no visible ham and the little bit of cheese was hidden in shame... The service gives me the impression "The child doesn't squint, it's supposed to look like that... KIDS, DO YOU WANT TO FUCK ME? 😡 If you don't feel like using the store anymore, pass it on quickly! Oh well: I expressly exclude Gustavo from this criticism! PS: The meat was good but didn't match the order. The service treated my objection simply unprofessionally - simply underground. And I don't want to have to fight my way through hierarchies when making complaints. BTW: I was a regular, with a long fuse 🤷🏻‍♂️

Today I was in this café by chance and I didn't regret it. It's rare that I'm happy with everything. Everything from the background music, ambience, food and service was perfect. All I can say about the lady of the house is that I have rarely seen someone so nice and friendly, she has a great charisma. The food as a whole was great, it came quickly, well prepared and at a great price. I can absolutely recommend it and will go there again.

Discovered by chance. Delicious bagels. Great for spontaneous guests, uncomplicated and delicious. All 4 of us decided on bagels.

The restaurant at the university used to be quite good. The heating hasn't worked for months now. You can only stay in the back, where there is a mobile heater for everyone. Very strange. The tarte flambée is no longer available, the only really tasty thing on the menu. A pity. It's fading more and more.

We visited the bistro based on a recommendation from an employee of the Düsseldorf University Hospital. We were immediately excited. The atmosphere is cool, the staff are very friendly and the menu offers something for every taste. If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely visit Café Weise more often.

Unfortunately, both chicken schnitzels were very tough, they came with sweet potatoes instead of fried potatoes and they charged 3.50 euros for a warmed curry ketchup. Very unfortunate...

Das Lokal hat eine neue Speisekarte. Das Fitness Frühstück war eine Katastrophe, auf einem großen Teller lagen 4 Streifen Käse, 1 Scheibe Mozzarella, 1 Scheibe Tomate und 1 kleines Schälchen Obstsalat. Dazu gab es 2 Brötchen, 40g Butter und 25g Marmelade. Das war's. Der Preis für das bisschen beträgt 15,90 EUR. Das empfinde ich als Wucher. Seit über 1 Woche funktioniert die Heizung nicht, es ist sehr kalt in den Räumen. Auf die Sauberkeit der Toilette wird auch nicht geachtet. Der Service war freundlich. Zur Zeit kann ich dieses Lokal/Café nicht weiter empfehlen!!

Das Café ist sehr schön und wir haben auf Anhieb einen Platz bekommen. Leider gibt es nicht mehr die große Frühstücksauswahl wie früher und die Preise haben deutlich angezogen. Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber für den Preis nicht spektakulär. Brötchen waren aufgebacken, von Tomate und Mozzarella gab es jeweils nur eine kalte Scheibe, aber das Rührei und der Quark und auch der Kaffee waren lecker.

Sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Lokal neben der Uniklinik (Augen/Zahnklinik). Leckeres Essen zum fairen Preis, sehr abwechslungsreiche Gerichte.

Ook hier seizoensgerechten: gans met groene of rode kool. Knusse plaats. Grote borden.

Ich war heute mit meinem Freund hier essen. Habe die Spätzle bestellt. Leider war mein Gericht von der Qualität schlecht und geschmacklos. Die Nudeln waren wirklich sehr fad. Oke, kann passieren! Allerdings fand ich schon ziemlich ärgerlich, dass man uns nicht in irgendeiner Art und Weise entgegengekommen ist. Es wurde nur mit einem lächeln vom Kellner kommentiert, dass er es der Küche weitergeben wird. Ich wurde nicht mal gefragt ob ich vielleicht stattdessen was anderes essen möchte und top wurden die Spätzle noch mit vollem Preis berechnet. War auf jedenfall, das Erste und letzte Mal das wir hier waren. Schade !
