Cafe Mexx in Hattingen

.Klasse Service und tolle Unterstützung der „Netten Toilette“! Wir haben hier bisher zwar noch nicht gegessen, werden das aber definitiv bald nachholen! Ich möchte schon jetzt eine absolut positive Bewertung hinterlassen, da das Café am „Nette Toilette“-Programm teilnimmt. Am Sonntagabend war meine Frau auf der Suche nach einer sauberen Toilette, da die WCs in der S-Bahn und am Bahnhof leider überhaupt nicht sauber waren. Da auch das Reschop Carré bereits geschlossen hatte, war das Café Mexx unsere Rettung. Meine Frau durfte die Toilette dort völlig problemlos benutzen, obwohl wir in dem Moment keine Gäste waren und sie auch nichts bezahlen musste. Das finden wir spitze! Vielen Dank für diese tolle Gastfreundschaft. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder, um das Essen zu testen. Die Auswahl sieht super aus – beim nächsten Mal probieren wir bestimmt das Gyros, das Lachsfilet oder einfach Waffeln mit Kaffee!

Wir waren zu dritt dort an Himmelfahrt. Alle Speisen frisch, sehr ansprechend angerichtet, umfangreiches Angebot. Kleiner Mangel: Die "Extras" - Lachs und Bruschetta - wurden leider nicht wieder aufgefüllt. Freundlicher aufmerksamer Service. Gemütliches Ambiente. Insgesamt ein sehr zu empfehlenswert Brunch!

Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt leider nicht.

Wir sind nach einer Radtour hier eingekehrt. Es gab Kaffee und Kuchen, Frühstücksbuffet war noch aufgebaut, sah auch sehr gut aus! Man kann drinnen wie draußen gut sitzen. Gemütlich und lädt zum verweilen ein Service war gut. Wir machen bestimmt nochmal einen "Stopp" bei euch 👍

Buffet ok - Service leider schlecht. Es wird nicht abgeräumt - keiner fragt ob man noch was trinken möchte… lieber wird an der Theke gesessen und am Handy gespielt. Leider der letzte Besuch.

Ich habe Spargel mit Schweinefilet, gekochtem Schinken, Sauce Hollandaise und Salzkartoffeln bestellt. Als das Essen kam waren die drei Stangen Spargel (es waren wirklich nur drei) und die Kartoffeln eiskalt. Außerdem fehlte der Kochschinken, der dann als einzelne Scheibe, geviertelt, nachgereicht wurde. Das Gericht kostete 23.90 Euro. Nachdem ich mitgeteilt habe, dass das Essen kalt ist, wurde es zum Aufwärmen mitgenommen. Beim zweiten Servieren war das Schweinefilet so trocken, dass es wirklich nicht zu Schneiden war. Ich habe mich dann für ein Schnitzel entschieden, das nach einer guten halben Stunde immer noch nicht da war. Deswegen haben wir dann bezahlt. Wir waren sieben Leute. Die anderen Gerichte waren maximal Durchschnitt und schmecken in diversen anderen Restaurants deutlich besser.

Wir waren zum Frühstücksbüffet im Mexx und leider sehr enttäuscht. Das Büfffet ist kaum bestückt, die Bedienung ist unfreundlich und wenn man etwas nachbestellen möchte, wird man auch noch angepampt. Nie wieder!

Wir sind sehr enttäuscht vom ganzen!!!! 10.05.2026 Muttertag. Da dachte sich meine Tochter ,gehen wir doch mal mit der ganzen Familie Frühstücken. Also Tisch für 8 Personen reserviert. Erstmal dauerte es bis wir ein Getränk bestellen konnten! 10:30 War reserviert Schließlich um 11 Uhr dachten wir Ach holen wir uns erstmal Frühstück!!!! Pustekuchen,nix in der Auslage,alles komplett leer! Nur noch restkrümmel von nicht vorhandenen!!15 Minuten später,endlich kommen Brötchen und Rührei. Aus Verzweiflung nahmen wir das dann schon mal mit. Dann am Tisch, der erste hatte schon im Rührei die Schale im Mund.Würg....der erste satt! Der zweite hatte sogar sichtbar Schale im Rührei.Ja es war wohl echtes Ei.Nun dachte sich meine Enkelin ich schau mal ob es was essbares gibt. Obst, ja das wär gut. Da kommt das Kind mit schimmeligen Himmbeeren und Ananas an den Tisch 🤢🤮 Also nee,der Service war mehr als überfordert mit dem Andrang! Muttertag 2026 unvergessen. Gehen wir nieeee wieder hin. Außer Kosten ,nur Magenschmerzen.😨

Wir hatten einen 70.igsten Geburtstag zum Frühstücksbüffet online reserviert. Das funktionierte mit Bestätigungs Email gut. Aber dann! Ein Platz in der Ecke mit zerrissener Sitzbank, einem überfordertem Kellner, den man erst mal suchen musste. Ein Mitarbeiter antwortete auf meine Frage nach einer Bestellung nur, er arbeite nicht. Endlich bekamen wir Kaffee, der extra berechnet wird. Vom Procekko und frisch gepresstem Orangensaft sah man nichts, wurde uns auch nicht angeboten. Also erst mal zum Büffet! Es war so enttäuschend, Wurst aus dem Päckchen, roher Schicken, Leberwurst das war es. Käse etwas besser, Stückchen von Parmesam und Camenbert sonst abgepackter Käseaufschnitt auf der Platte mit Cocktailtomate. Unglaublich! Eine kleine Schüssel frischer Salat mit 4 Scheiben gelben Paprika, ein Teller Tomate und ein Teller Gurke, sonst eingelegter roter Beete......und was man so aus Gläser in Schalen packen kann. Aufbackbrötchen mit und ohne Körner, ein Müslibüffet mit etwas mehr Auswahl. Aber auch das lieblos, in einer anderen Ecke untergebracht, ohne vom Kellner angeboten. Wir wollten noch einen zweiten Kaffee trinken, das war noch schwieriger, als beim 1. Kaffee. Nach 15 Minuten Suche fand ich den Kellner! Hurra er stand draußen, an einem Tisch zum plaudern. Als ich bezahlen wollte, fand ich auch den O-Saft und den Sekt. Auf der Theke zwischen schmutzigen Gläsern und Geschirr, zur Selbstbedienung. So was habe ich noch nie erlebt. Wir waren zu dritt und mussten für 3x Büffet mit 6 kaffee 70 € bezahlen. Da gehen wir nie wieder hin, um zu fühstücken!!!!!!!!

Wir waren dort in der Hoffnung etwas vegetarisches zu finden. Gut ist: sie haben wirklich als vegetarisch und vegan gekennzeichnete Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Es gibt eine extra Speisekarte für Spargelgerichte. Mein Mann bestellte ein Gericht (Kartoffeln mit Spargel und Sauce Hollandaise). Da es das nur mit Fleisch gab, bat er darum das Fleisch wegzulassen. Der Spargel war nicht richtig geschält, also scheinbar gar nicht oder nur minimal. Entsprechend ungenießbar war der Spargel. Ihm wurde trotz dieser Rückmeldung und trotzdem er kein Steak bekam, der volle Preis berechnet. Ich fragte bei der Bestellung, ob der vegane Burger scharf wäre. Die Antwort war nein. Die Antwort war nur partiell richtig. Der obere Teil des Buns mit der Soße war extrem scharf. Selbst mein Mann, der gerne indisch scharf isst, fand es heftig. Der Rest des Burgers war nicht scharf und lecker, aber eher lauwarm. Gut war der selbstgemachte Gemüsepatty. Wahrscheinlich stand er etwas länger, bis die Kartoffelwedges fertig waren (die waren sehr heiß). Die Wedges waren gut, nachdem ich sie nachgesalzen habe. Der Service: erst war ein Mann da. Ich fragte ihn, ob er die Musik leiser machen könnte, weil sie da wo wir saßen unangenehm laut war (wir saßen drinnen). Das ging nicht, weil sie dann draußen auch leiser würde. Dann kam noch der komplett unnötige Kommentar von ihm, dass das ein Restaurant/Bar wäre und Musik dazu gehört. Es war mittags und Feiertag, nicht abends. Leider war das Essen schon in der Mache, sonst wäre ich direkt wieder gegangen. Was bei der Qualität des Spargels auch besser gewesen wäre. Danach kam übrigens nur noch eine weibliche Bedienung, die ganz nett war und sich zum Abschluss noch für die Musik entschuldigt hat (sie hat die Beschwerde mitbekommen). Ich gebe einen Stern, weil vegetarisch/vegane Gerichte auf der Speisekarte vorkommen und extra gekennzeichnet sind und mein Burger okayish war und einen Stern, weil die Dame nett war.

Mitten in der Altstadt liegt das Café Mexx. Dort gibt es ein gutes Angebot an Speisen und Getränken. Das Personal ist nett, die Preise entsprechen dem Standard.

Das Cafe Mexx ist eine Insitution in Hattingen. Perfekt in der Altstadt gelegen und sowohl der Service als auch das gastronomische Angebot stimmen!

Wir waren hier um eine kurze Pause nach einem Spaziergang zu machen. Der Service wirkte etwas gelangweilt. Der Cappuccino war ganz ok. Leider war er wie auch der Apfelstrudel nur mäßig heiß. Wir würden nicht unbedingt noch einmal herkommen. Die Toiletten sind leider nur über eine relativ steile Treppe zu erreichen.

Am ersten Tag wurde ich sehr zuvorkommend und ,was noch wichtiger ist, freundlich bedient. Am zweiten Tag von einem anderen Mitarbeiter nicht. Er schien irgendwie wütend. Aber der Laden ist cool

Total unfreundliches Personal, ( leider diesmal das weibliche) Ambiente, Kaffe und sind Essen gut. Da ich schon vor einiger Zeit da war , wollte ich wieder im oberen Bereich sitzen. Es wurde ein Aufstand gemacht , bis das wir im oberen Bereich sitzen durften. Letztendlich , nach einer längeren Diskussion, habe ich dann einen Platz oben erhalten.

Schöner Laden. Frühstück war ok. Service fand ich sehr nett und sehr gut. Obwohl es heute sehr gut besucht war, gab es keine Wartezeit. Wenn mein Auto mal wieder in Hattingen zur Werkstatt muss, weiss ich wo ich die Wartezeit wieder verbringe 🙂 Und Jungs......nochmal.....Schmuckladen..... ICH war es nicht ☝️

Wir waren zu zweit dort und hatten jeweils eine Waffel mit Eis, Kirschen und Sahne. Die Portionen waren wirklich großzügig, geschmacklich alles top und der Preis dafür absolut fair. Leider war die Bedienung eher neutral und nicht besonders freundlich – man möchte nichts unterstellen, aber ein wenig mehr Herzlichkeit hätte das Erlebnis abgerundet. Insgesamt trotzdem eine klare Empfehlung für die Qualität der Speisen.

Essen war ok, ich hatte eine Ofenkartoffel die sehr klein war,für ein Hauptgericht einfach zu wenig.

Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen hier, weil wir Lust auf griechisches Essen hatten. Das einzige griechische Gericht auf der Speisekarte war ein Gyros-Wrap. Der Burger war bestenfalls mittelmäßig. Der Service war aber gut.

Hier findet grundsätzlich jeder etwas, weshalb es für Gruppen gut ist. Für jeden was dabei. Für spezifische Wünsche gibt es aber bessere Alternativen in der Nähe (wer z.B. einen Kaffee / Tee trinken oder Kuchen essen möchte, sollte besser in eins der kleinen Cafés gehen). Das Essen ist aber lecker, genau wie die Eistees. Frühstücksbuffet kann man machen. Der Service ist teilweise etwas unpersönlich. Die Sportübertragungen sind nicht mein Fall, das ist für mich immer eher ein Grund zu gehen.

Wir waren heute mit vier Personen frühstücken. Nachdem man uns einen Tisch zugewiesen hat, dauerte es eine ganze Weile bis die Getränke aufgenommen hatte. Man hat uns leider gar nicht gefragt ob wir das Frühstücksbuffet möchten, geschweige uns erklärt wie es abläuft. Auf Nachfrage, ob wir noch etwas Obst bekommen könnten, wurde uns gesagt, dass alles immer nachgefüllt wird und wir nicht immer nachfragen sollten. Was überhaupt nicht der Fall war. Sektgläser gab es leider auch nicht, somit mussten wir den Sekt aus Cocktailgläsern trinken. Insgesamt war die Bedienung sehr unfreundlich.

3,80 € für einen Kaffee sind völlig übertrieben. 14,50 € für das Frühstücksbuffet sind auch zu viel da sich die Auswahl leider verkleinert hat ( Kachs, Bruscetta etc gibt es nicht mehr, schade ! ) Der Mitarbeiter hinter der Theke war mehr mit seinem Handy beschäftigt als zu arbeiten. War früher gerne da, werde jetzt erstmal nicht mehr erscheinen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war freundlich . Mit schönen Blick auf die Weihnachtlich geschmückte Altstadt. Sollte ich wieder in der Nähe sein, komme ich gerne wieder.

Ich muss sagen, es ist wirklich köstlich! Ich habe mich für die Jader-Methode zur Zubereitung von gebratenem Schweineschnitzel entschieden, und es ist sogar noch aromatischer als Wiener Schnitzel.

Hmm, it wasn't that great. They're in the middle of renovations, the whole upper floor is being redone, which is why they only had a limited menu. The cashier didn't speak German… strange.

The food is absolutely amazing, but the service leaves much to be desired. Inattentive waiters, long waits before anyone even looks in our direction. Everything else was quite good, but the service needs some improvement.

Nicely located in the center, delicious Riesling, pleasantly lively atmosphere, friendly service, but prices are on par with big city standards (burger 18.50 EUR).

We waited a full hour for a drink today... The service is a disaster... When I complained, the waiter said, "I'm alone and I'm not discussing anything..." That's outrageous treatment of guests... This incident was not an isolated one....

We were in Hattingen again today, and tried ordering something for the second time. As I said, even trying to speak to the waiter didn't work. Instead, he stood in the entrance doorway, busy on his phone. Therefore, minus stars for the service would be appropriate. Oh, and it wasn't full, so don't let those comments come up again, and it wasn't the first time. We advise all our friends to stay away from this café!

This morning, my wife and I had breakfast at Café Mexx in Hattingen – and we are absolutely thrilled! We had the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for €14.50 per person and were completely satisfied. There was a fantastic selection of savory and sweet dishes: rolls, croissants, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, bruschetta, fresh fruit, salads, cornflakes, eggs, various juices, and much more. Everything tasted absolutely fantastic! The ambiance is very inviting, and we had a lovely seat by the window. One small criticism (at a high level): The buffet gets a bit crowded in places because there are so many guests there at once – but that doesn't detract from the overall positive impression. The waiter, who was the only one on duty this morning, was very attentive. He regularly made his rounds and politely asked if everything was okay or if we had any requests. Hot drinks like coffee or hot chocolate aren't included in the buffet price, but they're perfectly reasonable. Summary: A truly fantastic breakfast experience! We'll definitely be back – and I can easily imagine stopping by in the evening for a cocktail or to watch football.

Today we went to the breakfast buffet at Mexx for the first time. Unfortunately, we definitely can't recommend it. The rolls were so sticky that they were pre-baked, the bowls at the buffet weren't refilled, and the cheap prosecco was served in colorful glasses—the price was really inappropriate. It's a shame, actually a lovely café, and we won't be back.

Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet is truly terrible. I definitely don't recommend visiting.

We were at Café Mexx just for a drink last night. It was very quiet and we felt very comfortable. Although we were alone, we were served very friendly and courteously. Thank you very much.

We wanted a drink, but the service was so lackluster and inattentive. We waited several minutes, but the waitress was just playing on her smartphone. Then we left and had a nice Guinness in the neighboring Irish pub.

The menu offers a wide selection, and the burgers and waffles were delicious. The homemade iced teas are a must-try! Our server was also super friendly.

Four of us came here for dinner. The atmosphere is really pleasant. The food came quite quickly, although not for everyone at once. Unfortunately, not all of our orders were served; in our case, some drinks were completely missing. However, as is often the case, it was very busy that day. The staff is very friendly and gives good recommendations even if you're undecided. The food was fantastic, super delicious and beautifully presented, and the price was absolutely fair. Conclusion: We will, of course, be happy to come back again and again, and we can highly recommend this place. The only drawback is the communication with the kitchen, as some orders can get lost. Still, it's great!

We used to go there often and enjoyed it, but it's really not worth going there anymore... Example: last night: bored, inattentive "service," the food was so-so at best... Unfortunately, many restaurants in Hattingen were closed yesterday, otherwise I would have gladly offered my friends from Essen something better. A visit against my better judgment.

We had a great meal. My daughter loves the burgers there. To go, they have a takeaway 👍🏻 In the summer, you can sit outside and watch the pedestrian zone.

Hello, I was here today around 3:00 p.m. for a delicious crema. Everything was nice and friendly as always. The only thing that annoyed me were the flying ants crawling on the floor and tables. Unfortunately, it was due to the weather. 26 degrees and humid air. Hello, I was at Cafe Mexx today, September 5, 2021, around 2:40 p.m. I even got a seat despite this wonderful weather. Unfortunately, I didn't like it so much today. A bunch of flies were buzzing between the outdoor tables and chairs. I had to wait at least 10 minutes for my ordered café crème. The waitress was friendly but somehow helpless. After I finished my drink, I said I wanted to pay. The waitress walked past my table for another 10 minutes. The second time I approached him, I was finally noticed. Instead of 2.60 euros, I billed 3 euros and paid with a 10-euro note. He gave me 2 euros immediately. I put the 2 euros on my table. He told me he'd just have to go inside and get the fiver. ??? It took a while, and then he suddenly remembered that I was still getting change. ?? So it can't be because of the coronavirus. I've been served faster and more friendly before. I was glad when I could finally leave.

I got the top flat. I highly recommend it.

We stopped here for lunch this week and weren't satisfied: - Extremely long wait times for ordering and food delivery, both inside and outside, due to the sparsely crowded restaurant. - Mediocre friendliness of the staff. - Interior somewhat worn. - No soap dispenser in the men's restroom. - Food quality below average, but very expensive. => Unfortunately, the value for money isn't right here, so I wouldn't recommend it.

A lovely place to watch the time pass. Theo, the waiter, serves you warmly, is happy to recommend something from the menu, and you have a lovely view of Hattingen's city center.

Disappointing Visit on Whit Monday – Service Inattentive and Lackluster We visited this restaurant on Whit Monday and ordered two grande lattes, a warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce, and a waffle with cherries and vanilla ice cream. The two coffees were brought to our table relatively quickly, but we waited in vain for the apple strudel and the waffle. After finishing our coffees, we got up, paid, and skipped the rest of our order. The waitress simply commented, "Yes, there are days like that sometimes...", no apology, no regrets. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food, but the service doesn't deserve more than one star for several reasons: 1. The staff seemed inattentive, wandered around disinterestedly, and repeatedly ignored other guests' requests. 2. They don't keep track of their orders. 3. Empty trays were repeatedly carried past newly occupied, still-full tables – with no apparent awareness of the situation. 4. I have rarely encountered such a listless and stressed-looking team, without smiles, without friendliness, even though the store was only at about 40% capacity. The ambiance is so-so; they apparently thrive on the central location. All in all, a disappointing experience, and the value for money is definitely not right under these circumstances. Addendum: For the now absolutely ridiculous response from one of the staff members to my very objective and honest review, I am now withdrawing all rating criteria. Sorry, but the store simply doesn't know how to handle criticism professionally. Please take a look at the reviews on Tripadvisor; they are actually much worse than here on Google. 2.8 out of 5 points! I quote: "Orders either came wrong or didn't arrive at all." or "If you want to be treated well and kindly, you've come to the wrong place. Unfriendly, overwhelmed, unmotivated staff who were intellectually incapable of following our wishes." And so on. Well, does that sound familiar? And dear "host," no thanks, after such an unprofessional response, you can't make up for it with me. A little tip: If you don't move with the times, you'll be left behind ;-)

I can only speak for the breakfast buffet. I haven't been there for anything else. 5 stars

Hunter's schnitzel with 3 thin slices of mushrooms is not exactly a treat - rather very disappointing.

We were here for breakfast. Scrambled eggs were delicious. Unfortunately, there was no oat/soy milk, and some items were forgotten or brought incorrectly (e.g., regular coffee instead of cappuccino). Not quite as dramatic, but overall, it was okay, but we'd probably go somewhere else next time. P.S. The information about the lack of milk came from the staff themselves (they ran out of oat milk).

Great location and a large selection of food and drinks. The food is solid but nothing special. If you just want to fill up, you're in good hands here. If you're looking for a flavor explosion you might want to eat somewhere else and then come here for a few drinks, it's definitely worth it!

We as a group met here for brunch in the beautiful old town of Hatting - and had a great time here! Food delicious and varied, something for everyone and service attentive and very friendly. Plenty of seating inside and outside, with sun spots and everything for one or more people. We'll be back!

Not much has changed since my last visit, which was several years ago. However, I have to note that the conditions and service have become very poor. Not only was the food delivered incorrectly to several tables, the friendliness of the staff has also decreased massively. I'm not sure if I'll dine here again.

Actually a nice shop but espresso macchiato for €7 and notice at nine o'clock the kitchen closes straight away even though the menu and internet say until 10 p.m.... no repeat factor

I usually sit outside to enjoy a coffee. But it's no longer tasty at all. Whether it's a cappuccino or a latte macchiato, both taste like cheap coffee, which is the "house brand" in Italy. It's a shame, things are going well for the restaurant, but obviously savings are being made.

We found ourselves with the family and a little baby girl just a few months old 🍼. Quality, excellent service, peaceful, friendly and welcoming environment. Absolutely worth trying are the gyros and the soufflé with vanilla sauce and a Himbeerenote😋

Food was ok, warm rather than homemade. When it came to service, you almost had the instinct to apologize if you wanted to order something. Location is great, but probably not again!

Friendly service, decent service, which should be standard, cake and cappuccino ok, but... The prices are very high, but what's on offer isn't outstanding enough. Not for a "stopover", you have to want to go here.

The service is friendly, but it does take a while for your order to arrive or for you to be able to place it, but only when the store is busy. A little more staff could help. At a late hour the audience became very tiring due to the young crowd being very conspicuous; until then the audience was mostly families with children and was much more pleasant than the drunken youth. In itself it is a very friendly shop. Located in a beautiful old town.

Mexx Gastronomy gives us the impression that the overall reviews are glossed over by taking action against constructive criticism that is objectively proven by photos. Very unfortunate.

Very expensive. Pretty bad service: as soon as we paid, they sent another group of people to take our table, before we had time to put on our coats and before they even cleaned up our cups.

Food just about within the price/performance ratio. Service could be quicker. Rooms very cramped and really "zero" barrier-free!

The breakfast buffet was sufficient and varied. Too bad the coffee wasn't refillable.

I found the atmosphere to be relatively uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the burger patties were frozen goods and at around €16, they weren't worth the money. The lady at the bar was a bit brisk, but the waiter who brought our food was very relaxed, courteous and helpful.

Ugh, heavy food, so the waitresses don't really use their potential to increase their tips with a smile. Come across as quite cool. But when you start talking to them, they react positively and sympathetically. The first floor is magical with open timber framing. Below appeals more to the young audience, which is not meant in a negative way. I can't confirm the criticism about long waiting times or bad food. Prices attached. Coffee, latte, waffles and cake, delicious. We'll come back and try breakfast. Dear service, don't despair, there are also nice guests, enjoy them. Thank you for existing!

Have been here again for a long time. Especially at this time of year it is very cozy there because of the slightly dimmed lights. The burgers were very tasty!

Even one star is too much for this juice shop!! Apart from the fact that I had a hard time eating it and it was returned and I even ended up paying for it, I have never experienced anything so outrageous in my life!!

A truly wonderful place to linger and enjoy the food on offer.

One star was already too many for today's visit. At the table we were allowed to sit at, there were still dishes from the previous person, which were not put away. Even after half an hour the dishes were still there. When someone finally came and we raised our hand to draw attention to ourselves, the waiter looked at us and walked past us! Well, we waited until the table behind us was served. However, the waiter in question did not come to us and continued to ignore us. Because restaurateurs complain so much, the service should be a lot more hospitable. We then changed venues and can only warmly recommend the City Lounge! They know how to deal with guests there and it tastes great!

The food was average, special requests were not realized, the service only came after 15 minutes to take the order, some of the guests left without being served, it's a shame the location is very nice

November 1st, 2024: Went here for breakfast today. We had reserved 3 weeks in advance and wanted to eat with the Kulinaris Card. But then we remembered that this is not valid on public holidays. On October 31st I emailed the cafe saying we weren't coming because we remembered the card wasn't valid. Some restaurants still accept these on a holiday. The answer I received from a Christanas was that the card was accepted and we could come! Today we set off from Dortmund on our bikes in the morning and then we arrive there after more than an hour of travel and the first waiter tells us that the card is not valid and then the next one came from behind and confirmed again that the card was is not valid. Only after a long, somewhat unfriendly back and forth and showing the email traffic were we allowed to eat with the Kulinaris card. While the waiter with the tattoos was nice, the waiter with the black hair cropped close to the side was not friendly. He later put the latte macchiato on the table without saying a word, even though I thanked him. Unfortunately a very bad experience. For breakfast: The mushrooms, waffles, rolls and croissants were delicious. What was bad was that it took 30 minutes for the mushrooms to be refilled. The waffles including cherries were empty 30 minutes after we arrived and were not refilled. It is therefore better to fill up the plates at the beginning of the breakfast buffet. In addition, the prices on the menu online don't seem to be correct. The breakfast buffet there costs 12.50 euros, but was charged 12.90 euros! September 29, 2024: We ate the paprika schnitzel and a Cesar burger. We eat out at different restaurants several times a week and have a good comparison: Ambience: The ambience is better than anywhere else: grade 2+ Waiting time: The waiting time was too long, even though most of the guests left for food. Drinks came immediately: grade 4+ Service: The various waitresses were nice: grade 2 Food: I found my schnitzel to taste above average, but the size was below average! The fries were OK, but a little worse than in other restaurants. The Paprika-Schnitzel is the same as the Zig.....Schnitzel in 90% of all restaurants, but you can't call it that anymore. But here it was a schnitzel with peppers. The burger was OK, but not so good that you would order it again! Overall, we weren't 100% convinced, but we were satisfied. Next time we'll try the waffles, which looked delicious. We'll probably try breakfast too, but we'll probably have to come very early so that everything is still there. From the other reviews you can see that it sometimes takes a little longer until something is refilled.

Unfortunately, the baked goods during breakfast are not fresh from the bakery but rather baked. Unfortunately, during the sweet breakfast, the croissant was dry and boring.
