I didn't think it was particularly special the first time. Okay, second chance today and completely failed. Salad Magdalena. It's okay that a salad doesn't fill you up. But a bit of green salad with a thick stalk in it and over-salted steak strips... then you politely say that it wasn't good and not even the espresso afterwards as an invitation as an apology? For me it was the last time. You can definitely eat better in Hattingen for €18.90. Very disappointing!!!!

We celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday there She had rented the smaller hall. All service staff were extremely friendly and competent. The ambience is incredible and the food is beyond delicious! The location offers so many opportunities to host a celebration of all kinds, whether outside or inside, small or large. The children's playground is getting old and doesn't offer as much, but it was still enough for my children to spend time outside. At the same time, a free wedding ceremony took place under the tent outside, which then moved with the wedding party into the large hall, which was incredibly beautifully decorated. And a highlight for the older generation: you will be safely guided to the toilet by Humphrey Bogart ;) P.S.: I can't say anything about the rooms because we didn't stay there.

We had dinner there with the family. It was tasty, service was okay. The service was friendly. Although it wasn't that busy, it took a long time for the order to be placed and everything seemed a bit unrehearsed. It was still a good afternoon.

We came today at 7:00 p.m. and got table 25 on the edge. Drinks and food were consumed very quickly and the first drinks came quickly. At around 7:15 p.m. a couple sat down at the next table and also ordered and received their food a short time later. There was no further service or food until 7:45 p.m., whereupon we actively asked for service. He then came and brought us the second round of drinks. He also said that the food for our table would already be ready at the kitchen counter. This was obviously a blatant lie because no food came. The waiter also seemed caught checking the status of our order on his smartphone. Mistakes happen, but then you should be honest and not lie dirty. The couple at the next table had finished eating for a long time, it was getting dark and we were about to leave when the food finally came. The food itself was okay, a good portion and tasted good. The “still” Diet Coke, completely non-carbonated, was disgustingly disgusting. Why not just pour it from the bottle? All in all, the visit fulfilled its original purpose of getting full. But nothing more.

There were two of us here for dinner. It was Wednesday and therefore “steak day”. The food was very good, but in my opinion the fried potatoes (2 euros extra) came out of the pan a little too early and were not crispy or crunchy. The cooking point was just reached. But the steaks were TOP. Small downside: The steaks weighed around 200 grams. Since there was no side salad with the steaks (you would have had to order separately), 250 grams would have been more appropriate. My wife was full, I wasn't really. The bottom line is that the “12 Apostles” are recommended and we would be happy to come back.

Drinks had to be ordered several times and the staff was overwhelmed that day. The staff was overwhelmed and the food caused diarrhea and had only just been reheated. On the whole, I wouldn't recommend it and advise everyone to eat meat dishes elsewhere.

Were there for the fourth time today. The location has its effect, but unfortunately we have to say that that's the only really good thing there. Unfortunately, the service hasn't improved one bit; It took an unreasonably long time for drinks to be picked up and brought - compared to other (dining) locations (especially when the tables were very small). After the food was served, no waitress ever came to ask whether or how we liked it... The food itself is nicely prepared and you can't complain about the portion size(s). What we noticed very(!) negatively today is that we ordered large bottles of water (sparkling and non-carbonated) and probably received tap water. When we got the first bottle (ordered carbonated but didn't contain any), we let the waiter know. A new one was brought in, which again did not contain any carbon dioxide. In the case of the next one - apart from the lack of carbon dioxide - the filling quantity wasn't even the "right" one. To then charge a whopping 6 euros per bottle is more than outrageous. Last but not least, the invoice presented was also incorrect. I haven't even mentioned everything here that was negative and we - with a total of four visits (and time intervals in between) - gave the restaurant a "chance", but were unfortunately very disappointed!

Yesterday we celebrated my birthday with 13 people at the "12 Apostles". A large table had been reserved for us on the beautiful terrace. The lovely evening started promisingly with the friendly and experienced service. The meal that followed was rich, of really good quality and was also served in a very visually appealing way. The drinks were also great! Overall: a successful evening with the 12 Apostles. Gladly again!

We went out for drinks and food three days in a row last week. As always, the food was fantastic. The service is excellent at the schools castle. Very, very nice conditions and the boss is always ready for a nice chat. Thumbs up for all conditions.

This evening we were guests with six adults and one child. The staff were without exception friendly. The food, from vegetarian to fish, pasta and grilled meat, was to everyone's satisfaction. If you take a starter, the main courses are too filling. We had a lovely evening and went home very full. One small point that I didn't like is worth mentioning. The outside areas, from the wooden platforms to the window sills, the display of the menu boxes and the playgrounds, could use more attention. We'd love to come back. It is a beautiful location with ballrooms that is unrivaled in the region. So she deserves to have a large audience come here. Good luck for the future.

I've been to this restaurant several times and we've always been satisfied. But I'm at a loss for words about what's going on now. This time the food and the friendliness of the staff were beyond outrageous. When I ordered I asked what the dish was made of and what was included in the main course. The waitress assured me that she would take care of my concerns and then get back to me. There was no response and the invoice was a rude awakening. I had to pay for something I didn't order. After asking, I was arrogantly presented with the menu, saying everything could be read. And that the operation was new and that he couldn't be blamed for his colleague's mistakes. The actual waitress then lied to my face that she had pointed it out to me. Our companions didn't hear this either. For us it was the last visit to this house, in short, we received bad food for 50 euros and met arrogant staff.

Today was schnitzel day. The schnitzels were really good and the sauces were also great. In summer weather, the terrace with shady trees is very pleasant. Plus nice service and plenty of parking spaces. Gladly again.

Nobody, even or german fellows that were used to booking a table at your place enjoyed their time. Also you should tell your costumers when you don’t have a specific meat (talking about the veal liver) instead of mischievously serving them cheap chicken. What isn’t fair is to swindle money from an old woman proudly inviting her family to a restaurant.

Very nicely located, good view over Hattingen from the beer garden. The service was very friendly, almost warm, and always had a light word on her lips. The food was good, absolutely ok for the price. Drinks and food came quite quickly, value for money was right. By the way: I saw the pizza at the next table, it was great! 3 years later: we were so excited! Really great - good food. The meat was tender, the liver so tender, you didn't need a knife. We are already looking forward to our next visit here!

We celebrated our wedding here. And I am more than happy that we chose Semi and his team. The location is just a dream. No matter what you want for your wedding day, everything is done here to make it work. The food is just fantastic. But it's not just the food that's amazing, but also all of the employees. I have rarely experienced such attentive and friendly staff at a wedding. We even had the impression that they were having fun with our company. I can only say thank you, we will definitely come back again and again.

We were looking for a location for our wedding on April 27th, 2024 and after eating there 3 times before, we found it right here. Everything was much better than we imagined, all wishes were discussed and implemented in such a way that both of us were happy. The food was excellent and simply delicious and our entire party of around 30 people were extremely satisfied. What we want to emphasize is clearly the service. Super friendly staff, very attentive and always polite. All in all, our wedding was a little dream wedding thanks to the schools castle. We can absolutely recommend theschulenburg for events as well as for a nice meal with the family or as a couple or whatever. We will come back in any case. I was there as a guest at a wedding and it was a really nice evening. The room was beautifully decorated. The staff was courteous but never intrusive. The food was very tasty and there was a varied selection, even a separate salad bar. The location in general is well located, you feel a little outside, but easily accessible by car, and there are also plenty of parking spaces. I think it's not a bad choice as an event location.

We dined with our dog on the beautiful terrace. Unfortunately there were no pizzas today because it was schnitzel day and the pizza oven was not in operation. We decided on a pasta that tasted good. There are schnitzel days (Tuesdays), steak days, pizza days, etc. You may want to ask in advance whether pizzas will be offered despite the theme day. The large shady terrace is very nice. After dinner we went for a walk with our dog in the adjacent forest. We parked right in front of the door in the free on-site parking spaces.

I can't comment on the taste of the food as I left without ordering. In the past the food there tasted good. I can rate the service and drinks and both definitely need improvement. First we were greeted by a friendly employee who then asked us if we already had a card, we said no. She immediately brought us the menu and said: “The boys are running around here without a head”. Afterwards an employee came and took our drink order. The two cola I ordered (1xLight and 1x normal) came without carbon dioxide, which I didn't know at the time. When asked whether the service could still distinguish which cola was normal and which was light, the service employee started pushing the glasses back and forth like a shell game. He didn't answer the question at all, mumbled something incomprehensible, made an annoyed face and then left. We tried both drinks and found that both tasted exactly the same. I called another service employee who then told me that there was only Cola Zero and no light. The communication with the second employee was very friendly and he apologized for his colleague and offered to bring new drinks, but the appetite for a grill plate was gone due to the behavior of the employee who brought the drinks and we said goodbye. I'm not sure if I'll visit this place again.

The food was very tasty. We arrived shortly after opening with a reservation and still had to wait 55 minutes for our food. The staff was okay, but not particularly friendly. In general, communication was also a problem. We usually always go to Hilden, but wanted to try it out. Overall it was clean, the atmosphere was nice, but nothing more. We'd rather drive 30km more to Hilden - everything fits better there.

We were there for a family celebration on Mother's Day. Table reserved in advance. The young man who served us, Petrus, was very competent and friendly. Even though the restaurant was busy and busy, he remained respectful and professional. Towards the end they gave our mother a rose, which pleased our mother more than the food itself. 😂🥰 The food also left nothing to be desired. There is something for all meat lovers, fish lovers and even vegetarians. Despite the different orders, starters, main courses and desserts always arrived at the same time. Nobody had to wait more than a few moments for their food. I've been a fan of the 12 Apostles chain for several years, but this one has by far the best cuisine. My steak was cooked to perfection and the regional spagel was perfect. Always my pleasure.

Everything there is currently getting a bit dusty, but that can of course change in the summer when the weather is nice. Contrary to the location, above Hattingen, and the ambience, the food was unfortunately pretty average. To be honest, I would have expected more sophistication. There are many standard dishes with fries, for example to make the mainstream happy, and then a lot of sauce on top. Some of which didn't feel homemade either. It could be so much better and there is somehow still a pizzeria corner in the restaurant, which in my opinion completely ruins the concept. Maybe I had wrong expectations but from my first impression of a classy restaurant I would now classify it as a stopover on a bike tour.

There is no overnight accommodation. Food, service excellent.

I love good pizza and have to say that I've had some of the best here. It's not easy to convince me, but everything here was just right. The quality and taste of the pizza, the great service and the ambience. I highly recommend it. Both thumps up. This positive review only applies to the siblings. Unfortunately the rest of the staff is horrible. I'm very sorry to say it like that. Good staff is definitely difficult to find but the operator must try to find them as quickly as possible!!!!

Wir beide fanden das Essen hervorragend und werden definitiv zu unserem Jahrestag wiederkommen! War heute mit meinem Mann dort essen Anlass war sein Geburtstag Wir hatten einen Tisch um 18Uhr reserviert Waren um 16Uhr schon da Wir bekamen dort einen sehr schönen Tisch im Engelszimmer Das Essen und die Bedienung waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend Es gab sogar ein Nachtisch auf Kosten des Hauses. Wir waren bereits unzählige Male im 12 Apostel an der Schulenburg zu Gast und es war für uns jedes Mal ein besonderes Erlebnis. Aus diesem Grund hat dieses Restaurant aus unserer Sicht mehr als 5 Sterne verdient. Vom ersten Moment an wird man so herzlich begrüßt. Semi ist ein sehr zuvorkommender perfekter Gastgeber und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Personal (besonders Luki und Nicolas) ist ebenso herzlich, engagiert und immer für einen Spaß zu haben. Hier spürt man so viel Herzblut! Die Gastfreundlichkeit wird hier groß geschrieben und es fühlt sich für uns an, wie zu Freunden nach Hause zu kommen. Das Essen ist jedes Mal äußerst lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt vollkommen. Die Hochzeitsplanungen laufen absolut unkompliziert und Semi erkennt sofort jeden Wunsch und versucht, alles zu ermöglichen. Lieber Semi, wir freuen uns riesig auf unsere Hochzeit bei Euch und mit Euch im nächsten Jahr! :)

Dienstag ist Schnizelabend! Wir sind begeistert, Schnitzel doppelt so groß wie gewohnt,das beste Schnitzel was ich jemals gegessen habe. Die Pommes sind super lecker und knackig. Die Bedienung war höflich und zuvorkommend. Hier fühlt man sich rundherum umsorgt. Herzlichen Dank für diesen schönen Abend.

Ein schönes Restaurant in ruhiger Lage für Familien oder Geschäftsfeiern. Drei große Säle, in denen auch Hochzeiten stattfinden. Jede Empfehlung... Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Silvester Gala sehr gut gemacht. Leckeres Essen und reichlich. Auf Wunsch wurde Weisswein getauscht. Haben dann Lugana bekommen, weil das andere Wein nicht so geschmeckt hat. Der Chef bringt selber die Steaks zum Tisch! DJ hat alles gegeben, Zauber sorgte für die Unterhaltung. Feuerwerk MEGA, richtiger Leuchtspektakel.

Wir waren mit 18 Personen angemeldet und die Tische waren entsprechend vorbereitet. Die Wartezeit auf das Essen war etwas lange, aber okay angesichts einer weiteren großen Gruppe neben uns, die etwas eher da war. Dafür kamen die Essen für alle etwa zeitgleich. Die Essen waren gut, alle Mitglieder waren zufrieden. Die Preise sind moderat und angemessen. Das Personal ist freundlich und das Ambiente sehr einladend. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
