We got married here last September, and it was simply amazing. Our every wish was anticipated❤️ All our requests were also taken into account beforehand. Our expectations were more than exceeded. Rating: Disappointing service on Mother's Day - unfortunately no comparison to previous visits I have been to the Zwölf Apostle in Hattingen several times and have always been very satisfied - the service was always attentive and almost first class. Unfortunately, our visit on Mother's Day today was a big disappointment. After we were seated, we were hardly noticed: no one asked whether we liked the food, whether we wanted any more drinks or whether everything else was OK. Our empty plates sat on the table for a full 20 minutes without anyone clearing them away. When we finally spoke to the service staff about it, all criticisms were flatly rejected. They want to “pass it on to the executive floor” – a rather evasive reaction that has little to do with customer orientation. Especially on a busy day like Mother's Day, it would be appropriate to better manage capacities and personnel planning. If the à la carte business suffers from celebrations or a crowded terrace, you should take action - for example by limiting the number of seats or through a better training concept for the team. I have been working in the catering industry myself for many years and know that a simple apology, perhaps a small schnapps on the house – that could have taken the edge off a lot. But a bitter aftertaste remains. What a shame about an otherwise really recommendable restaurant!

Very nice service staff, beautifully located restaurant. On Mother's Day we were served very nicely by their service worker Aida, we had a lot of fun and laughed a lot. The food was very tasty. Always happy to come here.

Great ambience and delicious food

We were in the restaurant for the second time on a Monday for pizza day around 5:45 p.m Waiting time for food for both visitors 1 hour each. On the first visit there was a company in the hall. So understand the long wait. Yesterday there were only a few customers in the restaurant and the outside terrace, but we still waited 1 hour. The drinks we ordered were brought to the next table. Nobody came to take the order. The two ladies often made themselves known, but for a long time no one from the service department responded. Positive: The restaurant has a very nice ambience that is second to none.

We always enjoy going there to eat. Very nice service. The food has always been very tasty, no matter what you chose. Sometimes the waiting time is a little longer, but that doesn't bother us as we have time to have a leisurely meal anyway. When the weather is good, the large outdoor area invites you to relax. Parking spaces directly in front of the house. If you would like to go for a walk, you can do so directly in the adjacentschulenberger forest.

We received warm and professional support right from the planning stage. Every one of our wishes – whether menu or process – was implemented with great attention to detail. The ambience is unique: the historic schools castle with its stylish interior and beautiful outdoor area creates a festive, warm atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The food was an absolute highlight – our guests still rave about the quality and taste! Whether meat, fish or vegetarian options: everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We would also like to particularly emphasize the great service. The entire team was attentive, friendly and always available - without being intrusive. For us it was the perfect place for one of the most important days of our lives. I was booked as a photographer at a wedding at 12 Apostles and can only recommend it. The hall is beautiful and was a perfect size for around 100 guests. An excellent meal was served. The service staff was attentive and friendly. The hall and the adjacent forest were ideal for the photo shoot with the bride and groom.

Had a spontaneous meal there yesterday. 4 people, served schnitzel, lamb and prawns. There is nothing to complain about, special requests are met with a friendliness and a matter of course that it is fun to eat there. Therefore gladly again

Pleasant quiet atmosphere. Ate there, delicious with fast and friendly service.

We were there spontaneously. We were “lucky” that there was still a table available. This was in the large hall, where a year meeting with around 40 people including a picture show took place. Drinks and appetizers came quite quickly. Broken mushrooms, pizza rolls with aioli, bruschetta and starter plate for two were beautifully presented and delicious. The main course took a little longer because the group got their food beforehand. After 2.5 hours our order came. Veal schnitzel, baked potato with chicken breast strips were delicious. The meat of the spare ribs was well done, unfortunately there was too much marinade for our taste (there was a thick layer on it). Two meals were eaten incorrectly and one was completely forgotten. The spaghetti with aglio e olio with crab was delivered later and was also delicious. The grill plates that were then delivered were not tasty, the halved “Bratwurst?” dry and slightly charred, the meat dry. Too bad. The staff was friendly and tried hard.

We were there for dinner with a birthday party on Valentine's Day. Due to the special date, a musician accompanied the evening with singing. The ambience is very stylish, the singing suited the occasion well. The service was attentive and even though it was very busy, the dishes arrived at the same time (a star deducted because we had to remember the drinks and one dish initially came wrong). The food tasted very good, so a successful evening and a recommendation!

We were here for funeral coffee. We are very satisfied. The rolls were freshly prepared with salad, and the selection of cakes was also good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price/performance ratio is also right. I can only recommend this location.

We were here with six people and in the end we were extremely disappointed with the visit. It started with the order: When we ordered a pancake, we were immediately advised not to order it because it would take a long time. The way this was communicated to us was not very professional. We then didn't order it. Nevertheless, we had to wait 30 minutes for the starters and another almost 1.5 hours for our main courses!! During the entire time, no staff came by to take additional drinks or clear away used dishes. When the food finally came, it was at least good and filling. When it comes to the pasta, however, you have to ask yourself why you decided to throw mountains of parmesan on it so that you almost only taste cheese...well, at least the rest tasted good. We wanted to have the rest of the pizza packed up, but only received a box with the comment "You can put that in there yourself with your hands." So service itself is a disaster and not recommended. Even if it was a Saturday evening, that's not possible.

Catastrophe, a funeral party with 40 people was registered. Tables were not set.Coffee was available after 30 minutes (although not for everyone).At some point there was soup (also not for everyone).There were loveless sandwiches and cake immediately afterwards.The waiter was overwhelmed, which you could also tell from the look on his face . He didn't ask if you wanted something else to drink. It was clear to me that I wouldn't have any major celebrations there.

I've had the pleasure of being booked as a DJ at the 12 Apostles several times and it's always been a great experience! The location is simply fantastic – stylish, inviting and perfect for any type of event. I was particularly impressed by the technical equipment: everything you need for a smooth process is on site and in top condition. We ate here with 15 people for my mother's birthday party. The food was very tasty, the service did its best, but was a bit overwhelmed by a wedding in the neighboring hall. Despite everything, we had fun and it was a lovely evening.

We were there for Christmas. There was a good selection of dishes, including "Christmas" ones, such as goose etc. The service was phenomenal, something I haven't experienced so well in a long time: our waitress was always attentive and we never had to wait long. The food was average good. The schools castle is atmospherically beautiful. All in all, a lovely evening spent

Nice restaurant with a historical flair. The food is very, very good and you can sit nicely in older rooms. Waiters used to be smarter and more sophisticated before the time of the 12 Apostles, but you can still eat very well in a beautiful setting.

A star restaurant that places great value on service and quality... and then charges an extra 1 euro for every little sachet of ketchup and mayonnaise is just pathetic!!! I was there for the last time!!!

We had reserved a table for our office, which was set up for us in the otherwise empty large hall. It was freezing cold in the room, so we insisted on getting another table in another room. This was also possible after a short time. Of course, the hall is high, 12 meters, and therefore not easy to heat. But then I simply don't open the room because the 3 indoor heaters don't help at all. So we were happy to be sitting in a better heated room after a short time. The food and service were good, the prices were in the upper price segment, and the atmosphere was very nice and stately.

Leider total überfordert. Wir mussten 2 Std auf unser Essen warten. Ein No Go für dieses Konzept. Schade. Tipp: mind 4 Leute im Service. Notfalls nur mit Reservierungen arbeiten, um besser planen zu können. Die Location ist spannend.

Dinner with friends. We hadn't been here for a while and were surprised that the decor had changed. The room, which was previously elegantly furnished in black and gray tones, now had large tables and chairs covered with white covers. The dishes we ordered were consistently very good. The steaks were very tasty and grilled medium. The pike perch was also very good and there was a nice vegetable side dish. The amount of meat in the apostle pan was more than enough. Here too, the meat was very spicy and cooked to perfection. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We would love to come back again!

Invited to dinner there after a confirmation. Very nice space outside but a long walk to the kitchen and bar (stairs). Started at 12.30 p.m. with a champagne reception. Was fine. On that day there was another family celebration next door with the same group size of around 30 people. You would have to wait a relatively long time for the drinks. Unfortunately, the starter was not taken until around 2 p.m. and only at 2 p.m Served at 30 p.m. A simple pureed tomato soup (like anyone can make at home) or a small antipasti plate, that was ok. Then we waited an hour for the main course. Then at 3:30 p.m. o'clock was served. Unfortunately, there was always one dish missing... that meant someone always had to wait while the others were already eating. But the individual main courses were tasty... my apostle pan had rice and croquettes as filling side dishes (vegetables would have been nice!). Since it was already 4:30 p.m., cake was served quickly, which was provided by the hosts. All in all, the service was unprofessional and very slow. Dishes were left lying around for a long time and trash wasn't put away. A complaint from the hosts was not taken seriously as "normal waiting times". As a guest, it was still fine for me. As a customer, I probably wouldn't book a party there. I can't say anything about the price-performance ratio, but I suspect from looking at the menu that it won't be cheap. So there is still a lot of room for improvement!!!

I didn't think it was particularly special the first time. Okay, second chance today and completely failed. Salad Magdalena. It's okay that a salad doesn't fill you up. But a bit of green salad with a thick stalk in it and over-salted steak strips... then you politely say that it wasn't good and not even the espresso afterwards as an invitation as an apology? For me it was the last time. You can definitely eat better in Hattingen for €18.90. Very disappointing!!!!

We celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday there She had rented the smaller hall. All service staff were extremely friendly and competent. The ambience is incredible and the food is beyond delicious! The location offers so many opportunities to host a celebration of all kinds, whether outside or inside, small or large. The children's playground is getting old and doesn't offer as much, but it was still enough for my children to spend time outside. At the same time, a free wedding ceremony took place under the tent outside, which then moved with the wedding party into the large hall, which was incredibly beautifully decorated. And a highlight for the older generation: you will be safely guided to the toilet by Humphrey Bogart ;) P.S.: I can't say anything about the rooms because we didn't stay there.

We had dinner there with the family. It was tasty, service was okay. The service was friendly. Although it wasn't that busy, it took a long time for the order to be placed and everything seemed a bit unrehearsed. It was still a good afternoon.

We came today at 7:00 p.m. and got table 25 on the edge. Drinks and food were consumed very quickly and the first drinks came quickly. At around 7:15 p.m. a couple sat down at the next table and also ordered and received their food a short time later. There was no further service or food until 7:45 p.m., whereupon we actively asked for service. He then came and brought us the second round of drinks. He also said that the food for our table would already be ready at the kitchen counter. This was obviously a blatant lie because no food came. The waiter also seemed caught checking the status of our order on his smartphone. Mistakes happen, but then you should be honest and not lie dirty. The couple at the next table had finished eating for a long time, it was getting dark and we were about to leave when the food finally came. The food itself was okay, a good portion and tasted good. The “still” Diet Coke, completely non-carbonated, was disgustingly disgusting. Why not just pour it from the bottle? All in all, the visit fulfilled its original purpose of getting full. But nothing more.

There were two of us here for dinner. It was Wednesday and therefore “steak day”. The food was very good, but in my opinion the fried potatoes (2 euros extra) came out of the pan a little too early and were not crispy or crunchy. The cooking point was just reached. But the steaks were TOP. Small downside: The steaks weighed around 200 grams. Since there was no side salad with the steaks (you would have had to order separately), 250 grams would have been more appropriate. My wife was full, I wasn't really. The bottom line is that the “12 Apostles” are recommended and we would be happy to come back.

Wir waren am Montag den 12.08.24 an dem heissen Tag hier, hatten einen schönen Schattenplatz zum aushalten. Das Essen war super lecker, meine Frau hatte das Wiener Schnitzel original vom Kalb und ich hatte den Grillteller. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Preise waren angemessen. Wir hatten einen schönen Spätnachmittag mit lecker Essen und werden auf jedenfall wiederkommen. Auch die Aktion jeden Tag ein anderes Menu zu verbilligtem Preis gefällt uns. Montag war Pizza Tag und die Pizzen die an uns vorbeigetragen wurden sahen sehr gut aus und mit Liebe gemacht. Werden wir dann bei den nächsten Besuchen auch mal ausprobieren.
