Cafe Cenmoro in Heidelberg

Location is great, food, well. Definitely needs improvement.

Wir kamen bei schönem Wetter hier an und hatten eine Soda und einen Flammkuchen zusammen. Der Service war nett, die Lage am Platz ist sehr schön. Auch gab es Decken, die ersten kalten Tage brachen an. Leider fing es dann an zu regnen, so dass einige der anderen Cafés die Sonnenschirme aufspannten. In diesem Restaurant gab es leider nur einen, der aber nicht aufgespannt wurde und dann Möglichkeiten am Gebäude selbst. Wir haben dann unsere Sachen gepackt und sind ins Lokal rein. Drinnen war das Ambiente sehr nett, es gab einen Gastraum vorne, in dem leider eine Fensterscheibe zerschlagen war und dann einen Gastraum weiter hinten oben und unten die WC Anlage. Es schien etwas Personalmangel zu herrschen, weil man uns weder beim Umräumen half, noch darauf aufmerksam machte, noch den (einen) Schirm draussen aufspannte, noch zeitnah die Scherben wegräumte. Wenn meine Begleitung mich nicht darauf aufmerksam gemacht hätte, hätte ich mich in die Scherben rein gesetzt. Kurzum, wir bekamen drinnen einen Platz aber auf Eigeninitiative. Der "Umzug" an sich machte aber keine Probleme, wenn der Service innen etwas schneller gewesen wäre, hätten wir noch einen Kaffee getrunken. Dem war dann aber nicht so. Inzwischen wurden aber die Scherben weggeräumt und weitere Gäste kamen ins Lokal von draussen. Alles in Allem dem Personalmangel geschuldet, etwas überfordert aber nicht unfreundlich. Das Abkassieren lief reibungslos, die Toiletten im Untergeschoss waren etwas klein aber okay. Aber jetzt auch nicht unbedingt ein Lokal zum Wiederkehren.

The waitress lady didn’t bother to look into our faces when she was getting the order but she had the audacity to question why I didn’t tip when I was paying. Food was below average, the service was awful.

A friend and I wanted to have something delicious to eat and drink here. However, we already had to wait 25 minutes for our drinks. We weren't asked if we wanted something to eat. After we asked, we were told the colleague would do it. However, he never arrived at our table. Unfortunately, we weren't even able to enjoy the food. Management was terrible.

Beautiful location in the heart of Heidelberg with lovely views of the Marktplatz, perfect for enjoying a coffee outside on a chilly evening. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. My coffee cup had stains, and when I pointed it out, the waiter seemed irritated. He replaced it, but hastily placed the new cup, spilling coffee in the saucer. Despite the great setting, the experience left much to be desired.

During our visit to Heidelberg today we went to Café Cenmoro for lunch. Location: The café is located in the corner of the market square by the town hall. You can sit both inside and at numerous tables outside. Mood/environment: From the tables in the square you can easily watch the hustle and bustle of the people, enjoy the sun and relax a little from the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian zone. Coziness: Unfortunately the chairs are a little uncomfortable. Food/Drinks: There is a plentiful selection of food and drinks. There are also plenty of vegetarian dishes on the menu. There are also two special daily specials every day. The food, schnitzel with fries and salad, and the baked potato were ok. Service: The service was nice and friendly, but unfortunately not very enthusiastic about us wanting to pay by card.

Not very pleasantly decorated. It was quiet in the restaurant so the waitress had enough time and attention for the guests, she was also very friendly. The food was delicious!! A main course and (delicious) dessert for 2 people, 1 bottle of wine and we spent less than €80.

We took a chance on this restaurant for lunch today, and were absolutely pleasantly impressed by the culinary. They didn’t have mushroom soup today so we had the onion soup, which was quite nice. The seafood spaghetti was one of the best I have had in Germany so far. Pork schnitzel was excellent too. Iced lemon tea was suitably right for our taste. Note that English proficiency of all the staff is quite poor, but we managed alright today!

This left a very unprofessional impression and led to frustration. It seemed as if the idea of ​​service was not the main focus here. **Atmosphere:** The ambience of the café is cozy and inviting. The decor is tasteful and there is seating both inside and outside, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere. The café has a lot of potential, which is unfortunately not used due to the poor service. **Conclusion:** Café Cenmaro could be a pleasant place for a little break if the service were improved. The food is okay, but the unprofessional and intrusive service unfortunately spoiled the overall impression. I hope that management takes this criticism seriously and takes appropriate action to improve the service. Until then, unfortunately, I can't fully recommend the café.

We stopped for lunch at this lovely little cafe in the square recently and whilst the service was bit slow the food was delicious, tasty and good value. The beers were also excellent. We would definitely go there again

We had a voucher for the store. When paying, we were told that the voucher had not been purchased there (the employee who issued it was known, but had apparently not worked there for three months). We then left, but were treated very rudely, especially by the barman, after his insinuation. The menu wasn't up to date, so you suddenly had to pay more when billing. This has not been done transparently before. No recommendation, rather visit one of the alternatives in the immediate vicinity.

Really good for public viewing, but late and unfriendly service. Card payment was only possible inside and you were forced to go in to pay in the middle of the game. The raspberry part of the mocktails tasted as if you had just dropped a spoonful of raspberry jam into it and not stirred it. There was a lemon floating in the beer, which seemed a little strange to me.

I hope no other tourists will leave the awful experience we had. Be careful

Didn't manage to get the TV to work for the European Championships. Everything in the bathroom was full of flies. No recommendation on the marketplace. Tourist trap

If we could it would be 0 stars!! At the time of payment we are told that we can only pay in cash!! Not having cash they forced us to look for an ATM, reproaching us for not having asked before if we could pay by card or not!!!! Supposedly, cash is a normal practice in Germany! Mind-blowing!!! After 3 broken ATMs, and almost a km of walking, finally a withdrawal terminal! Terrible waitress! A real anarch for tourists. 3/4 of an hour to manage to leave this café for an apple juice and an aperol spritz! Other tourists in the same situation as us. To avoid absolutely and a good advice: ask before consuming if you have the "right" to pay by credit card....

I was initially nervous because of other reviews The service was honestly very friendly and accommodating. The lady that our huge lunch group (12) had was absolutely lovely. This menu had great food to include options for some odd picky eaters in our group. The table and atmosphere was so great. We had a cool view of the church. Overall this place positively surprised me and I would return.

Top location, beautiful interiors. The food wasn't particularly outstanding but I think it was OK for the price and the top location. Fresh pizza may be good, but the other dishes taste more like frozen goods. Enough to fill you up, but if you want to eat delicious food, this is the wrong place. Service was organized a bit chaotically. You had the feeling it was your first day in the restaurant business. You could do a lot more with it here.

Terrible Toilets are also dirtier. Withered flowers. Staff how should you say, dressed like in a brothel NEVER AGAIN !!!!!

Tomato soup and onion soup only tasted salty or like soup seasoning, large soggy baguette cubes were served as croutons, Black Forest tasted stale, drinks were ok. Service was very good. Overall not recommended.

Only cash payment possible! Unfortunately, you only find out about this when you want to pay and not before! €20 for two cheaply made cocktails and a small glass of Sprite. Then we first had to deposit something and, as tourists, go look for the Volksbank, where they also charge €4.95 in fees because it's not my bank and the Sparkasse (according to the service) is half a km away. Super uncomfortable! Don't go there a second time!

We sat inside because of the weather. Interior quite nice, but very cold. Our waitress was very friendly and also spoke good German. We had divided opinions about food. My meal from the weekly menu (rollitos) was very tasty, as were the crepes). Fries and apple strudel were probably just average. Prices okay.

La comida es normal. La camarera, una señora mayor, que nos sirvió fue lo peor; en primer lugar se tomó unas confianzas improcedentes en el trato , en segundo lugar intentó apropiarse de una propina desproporcionada: para pagar una cuenta de 130€ le entregué 150 € en tres billetes de 50 que se guardó en la cartera alejándose de la mesa, cuando le reclamé la vuelta del dinero restante se justificó, con malos modos, diciendo que como le había entregado el dinero en mano eso significaba que podía quedarse con los 20€. Ni la comida, ni mucho menos el servicio, merecían semejante propina. Devolvió el dinero (de mala gana). Aunque al final le dejé propina me arrepiento de haberlo hecho. Por cierto que no aceptan tarjetas para pagar.

The food is normal. The waitress, an older lady, who served us was the worst; Firstly, he took inappropriate confidence in the deal, secondly he tried to take a disproportionate tip: to pay a bill of €130, I gave him €150 in three 50 bills, which he put in his wallet as he walked away from the table, when I demanded the return of the remaining money and he justified himself, with bad manners, saying that since I had given him the money in hand that meant he could keep the €20. After politely asking the waitress to clean our table, we were turned away by the waitress in an extremely rude manner. A condescending: "Wait a minute, OK? Wait a minute, I already know." was thrown at us. After this unacceptable behavior, we as guests were hardly noticed and our order was taken with obvious displeasure. It was clear that we were not welcome. Given this disrespectful treatment, we decided to end our stay and prefer to spend our money somewhere where guests are valued and adequate service is a given. Anyone who shows such a miserable attitude towards their guests deserves no support whatsoever.

Went there for dinner on a quiet Thursday evening. Food (fried goat cheese with chestnuts and honey) excellent and cheap. The wine too. Serviced quickly and friendly by the host. Simple atmosphere, no chic, no tourist rip-off. Thank you very much. A recommendation.

Helaas een nare ervaring. We moesten lang wachten op bediening. Daarna lang op onze bestelling. De drankjes waren niet lekker. Mojito was ranja met sprite. De bediening vreselijk. Toen ik wilde afrekenen gebaarde de serveerster dat ik moest wachten tot ze haar sigaret op had. Daarna werd mij op een erg onvriendelijke wijze gewezen op het feit dat ik fooi MOEST geven. Niet normaal. Hoe is het mogelijk. Erg jammer.

Very bad! Had to wait a very long time to order and then had to wait another long time for the drinks! Drinks were mediocre, not really tasty and therefore way too expensive for what you got. Checkout was also slow. Lady with a cigarette motioned to us to wait until she had finished smoking. When paying, she forcefully and unfriendly pointed out the mandatory tip! So very unfortunate.

One of the worst places I ate, it's a shame

This cozy restaurant has left one of the best impressions at the heart of Altstadt in HD. I must say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Café Cenmoro. Our waiter was awesome, the staff was polite and worked as a team in bringing and cleaning up our food.

Nice stuff and good food, on Sundays they serve Exotic Iranian brunch which was good.

I came here with a group of 6 girls. We all got a drink and had a good time until we had to interact with the waitress. The waitress saw that we were American and decided to up-charge us. The prices on the menu did not match what the waitress told us our individual totals were. As we were each paying for our drinks individually, she told us that the card reader was down so that we each had to pay in cash. Further, when we did pay in cash, she told us that she didn't have enough coins to give us change even though she was holding a bag full of coins. Scam.

We had a miserable service at Cenmoro bar. The treatment by the waitress was embarrassing.

Very good and plentiful lunch.. We came back in the afternoon for a coffee and a piece of cake. The coffee was excellent...but the slice of cheese tart was not very big.. It's a shame because it was excellent.

Food and ambience were good, espresso was bitter. Due to the poor service you can only give one star. Because of me, I would have been able to see past the arrogance, but treating old people rudely as servers who politely say that they ordered the drink in a different size is not possible! The store only stays running because they have a good location.

Miserabler Service. Unfreundlich, Getränke nach Bestellung falsch aber bei Kritik daran wurden wir angemotzt es sei schon richtig so. Am Nachbartisch das Gleiche. Beim bezahlen keine EC möglich unter 10/15Euro(ich hätte 9,40 zu bezahlen gehabt.) Kommentar der Bedienung: Ich könne ja so viel „drauflegen“. Toiletten riechen den ganzen Flur hoch. Und Toiletten schmutzig, Mülleimer übergelaufen…naja. Für nie wieder.

Wir haben hier das Frühstück ausprobiert. Die Tasse Kaffee war inclusive und somit hat das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis beim Cenmoro Frühstück gepasst. Von der Menge her war es übersichtlich, wir wurden aber satt. Die Bedienung war freundlich und flott, es herrschte aber auch kein großer Andrang.

Wir hatten nur zwei Latte Macchiato, die war ganz ok, kam leider irgendwie etwas blass und milchig daher. Die Bedienung war aber äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nächstes mal werden wir das Essen probieren.

Eine top Lage in der Altstadt von Heidelberg. Preise sind noch ok… Aber Service und Freundlichkeit könnte besser sein. Für mich aber das KO Kriterium war der „Bodensee“ Kaffee. So dünn und geschmacklos ist selbst der gebrühte Rastplatz - Filterkaffee nicht. Schade eigentlich - könnte wesentlich besser sein.

Sehr schöne Außenterasse auf dem Marktplatz. Essen war lecker und reichlich. Das während des Essens die Sonnenschirme eingeräumt wurden hat etwas gestört.

Over de bediening op dit toch wel prachtig gelegen terras kan ik alleen maar de ervaring van enkele andere mensen beamen: ronduit onbeschoft. Wij hadden al verschillende keren gewenkt naar een in gesteven wit schort geklede ober, die telkens door ons heen keek. Toen ik voor de zoveelste keer teken deed (na reeds een kwartier wachten) riep hij bot en met luide stem, zodat heel het terras het kon horen, dat als wij wilden dat hij ons bediende we maar van tafel moesten veranderen, want waar wij zaten was niet zijn rayon. Nu heb ik er alle begrip voor dat obers elk hun rayon hebben, maar zeg dan van in het begin gewoon dat we ons tot iemand anders moeten wenden. Wij zijn ostentatief rechtgestaan en zijn elders gaan eten.

Nagyon finom volt minden. A kiszolgálás tökéletes, az árak jók. Csak ajánlani tudom! Update 2023: valószínűleg új a tulajdonos mert amennyire ez a hely volt az etalon most annyira a negatív példa! Egyszerű kb Lidl minőségű fagyasztott dolgok igénytelenül találva, és fel szolgálva! Nem ajánlom senkinek!

Schönes Ambiente, Flammkuchen mit Lachs und Spinat und Salate super lecker und frisch. Preise fair. Bedienung schnell und freundlich. War sehr zufrieden und komme sicher wieder.

Der vegetarische Flammkuchen mediterran war wieder sehr lecker, danke für die schöne Zeit.

Super Pizza und super Burger,die pasta ist die beste in heidelberg, haben alles getestet

We were pleasantly surprised by the food at this spot (we usually avoid touristy spots right on the main plaza in each town). But it was all well cooked and seasoned. My kid was an especially huge fan of the spätzel here, which came with a really tasty cream sauce and was by far and away the best we sampled on our travels through Germany. We deducted one point for the look of disdain we received after asking for tap water (this seems a consistent thing throughout Germany but it gets old if you don’t enjoy bottled water).

패키지여행 식당이라서 큰 기대를 안했는데 예상밖으로 맛과 분위기가 좋았습니다. 현지 느낌 제대로 나고 슈니첼, 감자튀김과 샐러드에 생맥주 1잔을 곁들였는데 현지 맛을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 물은 기본 제공되고 제일 넓은 광장 모퉁이에 위치하여 찾기 편하고 식당 앞에 노천카페를 이용할 수도 있습니다. 근처에 한식당도 있는데 우리가 간 날은 휴무더군요.

Schönes Ambiente aber leider völlig überfordertes Personal trotz 20% Auslastung. Servicepersonal spricht kein Deutsch. Bestellungen mussten mehrfach aufgegeben werden und kamen trotzdem nicht. Generell lange Wartezeit, Personal fehlt es wohl an Überblick, etc. In der Damentoilette gibt es bereits Mittags kein Klopapier mehr… Gibt besseres am Marktplatz…

Das Restaurant Cenmoro in der Altstadt Heidelberg ist ein Highlight! Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Kompetenz des großen Barkeepers Moh👌der unglaublich kreative und köstliche Cocktails zubereitet. Der Service war auch gut.

Wir hatten zwei Pizza Schinken Käse bestellt und die Pizza hat SUPER geschmeckt und die Bedienung waren sehr nett.

Wonderful location and OK food. We ended up just getting drinks and an apple pie that would have been better served warm. You can sit outside in the square and it’s just a dream, such a perfect spot.

Ein sehr tolles Lokal. Äußerst freundliche Bedienung und guter Service. Waren auf unserem Kurztrip zwei Tage in Folge dort. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Wir sind auf das Café Cenmoro bei der Suche nach einer Location für den Sektempfang nach unserer Trauung im Standesamt aufmerksam geworden und können es definitiv empfehlen. Aufmerksamer, zuvorkommender Service, guter Flammkuchen in verschiedenen Variationen und leckerer Sekt. Von daher- gerne wieder. Allerdings zu einem anderen Anlass ;)

Ich liebe dieses Lokal. Wunderschönen Aussicht. Freundlichen Personal. Leckeres Essen . Wirklich zu empfehlen.

Super leckeres Frühstück. Sind mit einer Gruppe spontan hin und haben sofort einen Platz bekommen. Freundliches Personal und sehr zuvorkommend.

Cenmoro Platte war sehr lecker, wir waren total zufrieden, Gerne Wieder.

Nettes Ambiente am Marktplatz Heidelberg. Schneller Service. Speisen und Kuchen schmackhaft. Preise sind in Ordnung.Gerne wieder.

Vi besøgte stedet til frokost en varm sommerdag. vi fik flammkuchen og bratwurst. Maden smagte herligt og var til meget fair priser. Betjeningen var samtidig meget god, og så ligger stedet jo smukt lige midt på torvet i den gamle bydel.

We hebben de plaat met diverse stukjes vlees bestelt voor 2 personen Zeer goed bereid en in overvloed aan salade en gebakken aardappels

Cenmoro ist ein italienisch-internationales Café und Restaurant direkt am Heidelberger Marktplatz. Lagebedingt muss man mit gehobenen Preisen für die vglw. einfache Küche (Pizza, Pasta etc) rechnen. Ich selbst hatte mich dort bei einem Tagesbesuch der Stadt zum Frühstück eingefunden, die Frühstückskarte bietet etliche Optionen für jeden Geschmack. Ich entschied mich für das Kräuterrührei mit Käse und Champignons, dazu ein einfaches Baguette. Es war insgesamt okay, man konnte nachwürzen. In den €7,90 ist eine (gute) Tasse Kaffee enthalten, dazu wählte ich einen wirklich frisch gepressten Orangensaft, der mit €4,50 für 0,2l allerdings ordentlich zu Buche schlug. Die Bedienungen sind okay, nicht überragend freundlich, aber ich hatte mein Frühstück nach 5 Minuten auf dem Tisch. Das Restaurant bietet neben einem in mehrere Räume geteilten Innenbereich eine große "Terrasse" auf dem Marktplatz. Man hat also alle Möglichkeiten (siehe Photos). Insgesamt kann man hier solide frühstücken, während man gleichzeitig die Wespen abwehrt.

Die Pizza ist lecker, aber auch etwas klein. Man bezahlt hier also auch die gute Lage mit. Das Personal ist nett und freundlich. Der Eistee ist leider ungenießbar gewesen…

Bei unseren Heidelbergbesuchen gehen wir immer ins Cenmoro Cafe und wurden dort noch nie enttäuscht was das Kaffeetrinken betrifft. Die Torte schmeckt hervorragend und der Milchkaffee auch. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich.

Mein Freund und ich haben uns dieses Café ausgesucht, weil uns die Lage gut gefallen hat und wir nach Besichtigung der Burg einen Kaffee trinken wollten. Zudem wurden wir, noch bevor wir uns entschlossen hatten zu bleiben, von der Bedienung sehr überschwänglich begrüßt, was uns zuerst ein gutes Gefühl gegeben hat. Leider waren Kaffee und Kuchen eine herbe Enttäuschung. Auf meinem Cappuccino war ein Türmchen Supermarkt-Sprühsahne und der Käsekuchen und die Schwarzwälder-Kirsch-Torte waren DEFINITIV Tiefkühlware, ebenfalls aus dem Supermarkt. Ich war zutiefst geschockt, wie frech man sein kann, in einem Heidelberger Café TK-Ware zu servieren. Unglaublich! Absolut nicht empfehlenswert.
