Burger King - Neumarkt in Köln

It's been a long time since I've been to Burger King... First of all, I can't talk to the employees because they're very rude and can only order at the terminal. It's not particularly child-friendly and useless. After I've entered everything and waited two minutes for the shopping cart to load, I'm asked if I want to take it with me... Why do I enter it then? There's no receipt either. And no "Bon Appetito" either. And then I have to pay for the restroom? That's outrageous. My last visit!

I paid 2.20 euros for tea, and not only did I have to brew it myself, but I was literally given boiling water in a cup and a regular tea bag. My friends didn't even get any sauce with their 20 euro order.

I was there yesterday with my husband and my two kids. We cleaned the table ourselves first because no one had learned to carry a tray or cleaned the tables for probably over an hour. When my husband got our order over 30 minutes later, not everything was in it. The king meal was put in a brown bag with no sauce for the fries and no toy. My husband's brother's was ice cold. Instead of a chicken tortilla, I got a plant-based one. My 7-year-old son was sent away because he had to pay a euro to use the toilet. It all took far too long for a fast food restaurant and I can speak from experience, having worked in a fast food restaurant myself.

Unfortunately, a complete disaster. 2 burgers, 2 fries, 1 ice cream... a half-hour wait... then the wrong packaging... the burger was cold... the ice cream was made with Kita Kat and caramel, but unfortunately, almost nothing... the seating area was blocked off... the restroom was unhygienic, you had to pay even though you were eating there... the restroom staff were very pushy, you had to pay before using it... totally rude... the staff were completely overwhelmed and uncoordinated... I've never had such a disaster before... first time there... and definitely the last time!!! Consistently bad reviews, but Burger King doesn't seem to bother anyone... as long as the cash register rings, negative reviews don't seem to bother anyone!

Mass processing...even if you consider that it is fast food

The wait was endless, even though it was barely busy. The food was lukewarm. The burger rolls were dry. There are better places than this one.

It's basically a fast-food restaurant. The service was so-so, not very friendly, but you should get your food.

I find it outrageous that guests have to pay €1 to use the restroom. The tables were rather dirty and sticky.

Horrible Burger King branch. The burger was so cold, old, and disgusting that it ended up in the trash after the first bite. Dirty, loud, and an eternity of waiting.

The men there were nice, but you couldn't sit much and it was a bit dirty.

The Burger King on Schildergasse is very tasty 😋 you order, get your food and then you can have a nice chat with friends you are there with. You can either come by car and park in the gallery or you come with the kvb line 9/1 and just walk the few steps.

Mice are running around the store as if we were in a sewer and we are paying money to get something to eat. It is a real disgrace!

We ate and had a drink. Unfortunately, the food wasn't warm anymore. But the most outrageous incident we experienced was in front of the restrooms: one euro per person – and a man yelling at two young women because they didn't have a single euro on them, even though they'd eaten inside. Is this really what Burger King wants? Is it even allowed? I will avoid this restaurant in the future – and probably everyone who has had the same experience will.

Unfriendly staff, didn't get what we wanted. Bottom line: won't be eating there again anytime soon.

There's a man standing in front of the restroom, aggressively demanding money for access. This is very unpleasant and off-putting. Under such circumstances, I have no desire to visit this Burger King.

There are 12 self ordering electronic kiosk. Staff is humble...you may sit on ground floor or first floor....or you can ask for To Go ( take away)... There Many food outlets and shoping makets on the same Neumarket area...it is just 900 meters away ( walkable ) from Hue market

Everything was great, including the service at the checkout. Unfortunately, I was completely harassed by the restroom attendant. How can it be that you eat at a Burger King and then have to pay €1 because you urgently need to use the restroom? The man yelled at me so loudly that I was scared. If people just come into the store to use the restroom, I'm fine with it, but otherwise, not. I would definitely advise against this Burger King and wouldn't go there again.

The Vegetarian Burger, a plant-based Double Whopper Burger, is very tasty.

The place is an absolute disgrace. First of all: The taste wasn't great anyway, but the most outrageous thing was that after eating, an unfriendly "lady" ripped you off for an extra €1 to use the restroom. I've never experienced having to pay extra to use the restroom when eating there. It's an absolute disgrace!

The worst Burger King I've ever been to. It was hotter than outside, and when we went, it was 30°C outside. The drinks weren't iced and weren't cold, the whooper sack bun was stale, and the fries were extra salty. We didn't go, but the workers don't have good working conditions being like that all day.

The burger was really good. Service? ...There are only ordering machines and an impersonal service counter. Many tables were littered with trash, i.e., leftovers from guests. Not very appetizing.

I popped in because the building is covered in Naruto designs. I ordered without waiting very long. I grabbed the deal where you get the Naruto and Burger King collaborative t-shirt. It is, however, loud at times due to children, but that's to be expected. It was very easy and quick to grab a table, and it's fairly clean. It's a great place for a pit stop.

Ventilation is not working !!! Shame for management!!!!! Never come again ! The worst Burger King from Germany !

The plant-based hamburger tastes identical to the meat version. It's definitely worth a try.

However, the employees can do something about the fact that items in the order are constantly missing. Sometimes it's a fries order, sometimes a burger, and so on... the employees seem very overwhelmed. The atmosphere in the store is very unpleasant. You wait at least 30 minutes for your order.

Horrible personal, getting mad at me and my wife for not understanding the German language for missing our order number. Never going here again.

What you get here these days for that price is simply outrageous. You could almost go to a real restaurant for a delicious meal. In any case, nothing here attracts me anymore!

I know where I'm going when I go to a Burger King, but even this nonexistent expectation was exceeded. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired and the floor was horribly sticky throughout the entire shop. The food was warm but, surprise surprise, not particularly good. The fries were even worse; they tasted like they had just waved at the fryer instead of visiting it. The icing on the cake came when we wanted to wash our hands because there was only one napkin per person. €1 per person to use the restroom, even for guests! I've never experienced such bottomless cheekiness: making people off the street pay, fine. But that the customers should pay too... As far as I'm concerned, they can show us the receipt, but being yelled at by the cleaning staff like that is ridiculous!

Hygiene is zero in this branch, the guy who tells you the order numbers after you order has sweat and saliva all over the orders.

The food is not tasty. The potatoes are not good. The sauces are very warm. It is very hot in the restaurant. Everyone is constantly sweating. We ordered food in the restaurant and everything was packed in a bag so that everything fell apart. It is terribly dirty!!! I have never been to such dirty restaurants! Horrible. There's constant dirt on the second floor, no one cleans, and it's stuffy. I pooped in the hands of the person who took my order. The potatoes were scattered all over the packaging, and the burgers were sloppy, even though I'd ordered takeout from the restaurant.

They deceive customers and laugh in their faces. They pretend to forget to put something in, but they do it on purpose! And caramel doesn't dissolve in cold coffee, by the way! And it's very dirty.

The Burger King looked solid from the outside as I fancied a hamburger and ordered one at the cash register. The person there was OK. They shouldn't have really told me that the counter was sticky all over before I got there, but it was OK. I paid quickly, but unfortunately I had to wait at least 10 minutes for a normal hamburger. That's a long time for fast food. The people responsible for folding the bags always tried hard, sometimes a little clumsy, but still OK. In contrast to the people in the kitchen, they were haphazard, without a concept, listless, and didn't work particularly quickly. I hope they work hygienically there. Finally finished after 10 minutes. The hamburger was freshly prepared and the taste was as always, but only 2 stars because 10 minutes for a hamburger is a no-go.

I was here recently at Neumarkt and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and my order was delivered quickly. My burger was freshly prepared and tasted good. The place was reasonably clean, although it can get a bit crowded during peak hours and on weekends. A solid place for a quick burger, but nothing exceptional.

Yesterday, I ate at the Schildergasse branch with my family and spent around €60 there. Unfortunately, our visit was overshadowed by a highly inappropriate and disturbing incident. When I went to use the restroom afterward, I was stopped by three dark-skinned men outside the restroom area who demanded €1 for use. I simply didn't have any change on me and politely asked for their understanding – but instead of accommodating them, they became loud, insulted me, and verbally harassed me. One of the men even followed me back into the dining area and to the exit. This behavior was aggressive, intimidating, and absolutely unacceptable. The idea that guests should even pay to use the restroom in a restaurant where they have already eaten is questionable to me anyway. Combined with the demeanor of these people, it almost seems like a kind of organized intimidation. For my family and me, this was definitely the last visit to Burger King. I hope other guests are aware of what to expect at this branch – and I hope the company urgently reviews the conditions under which the sanitary facilities are “managed” there.

The staff is unfriendly and doesn't respond when you talk to them. The toilet costs extra, which isn't right. If I spend money on food here, I have the right to use the toilet without paying. That's the case in every store. Best regards

I'm truly at a loss for words. You're not even allowed to wash your hands before or after eating without paying a single euro! If you don't have cash, you're not allowed to use the bathroom. Not even children! The cleaning staff is insistently demanding your euro! If you ask the staff on site, they just shrug their shoulders! Everyone is super stressed out, especially since no high-ranking guests can pay! This whole thing is absolutely unacceptable!

Today, we were visiting from the Baltic Sea with two small children in the beautiful city of Cologne. We quickly stopped by Burger King this evening to pick up some fries for the road. We received a very friendly and warm welcome from employee #Mash, who made the children laugh again and even gave them a treat with a Burger King crown and chips! The children were delighted, and it made the wait for their food easier and, of course, helped to ease the bad mood that evening. Many thanks to the wonderful employee Mash!

A big negative is that the bathroom is paid. We left 50 euros here, but they charged one euro for using the bathroom. The service was nice, but I think that the consuming guests have the right to use the restroom.

Extremely unfriendly restroom attendant who immediately yells at you and barely speaks German. It took me ages to finally understand him. He insisted on paying 1 euro for the restroom, even if you're eating there. It also took the other employees a long time to understand the problem. When I go out to eat, no matter where, I expect to be able to use the restroom, and if it costs a few cents, that's fine, but I won't let myself be yelled at! The Sprite tastes like sparkling water!
