Bootshaus Restaurant im Hain in Bamberg

I was there with a large group. Drinks arrived promptly and reordering was never a problem. The main course was pre-ordered, but four were still forgotten. These were passed on when everyone else had already finished and the salmon was dry and no longer rosy. But the starter and dessert were very good. The staff was always friendly and relaxed. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. So all in all a nice relaxing evening.

We recently went to the Boathouse for brunch. I have never had such a good breakfast/lunch buffet with dessert. Family-run restaurant with a great atmosphere, we will definitely be back 😋

We went to the boathouse for lunch on a Saturday three weeks ago. The online reservation worked well, although it wasn't necessary as the entire dining room was empty. The boathouse is a beautiful location with a view of the river, with a beer garden in summer. I already know from the beer garden that not all dishes are necessarily recommended, as is the case in almost all tourist locations and cellars in Bamberg. We had roast pork in the boathouse, unfortunately one of the worst roasts I've ever had - thickened ready-made sauce, not very seasoned and unfortunately cold. The savoy cabbage tasted good. After I said the food was cold, the service staff brought a new portion, which wasn't really warmer. You almost have to burn yourself on the dumplings at lunch if they are freshly made. The service staff apologized for the criticism with an espresso, which I thought was nice. Unfortunately, overall we sat a bit lost and cool in the large hall, there was no food and so we left quite quickly. The hall was beautifully decorated for Christmas. But unfortunately all the food doesn't come out.

Table booked and reservation confirmation received. A few days later, shortly before the appointment, it was canceled. Very annoying! Should software be a bug!? However, the small print states that you reserve the right to cancel at any time. Then what is a reservation worth!?

Unfortunately just OK. We were here at lunchtime with a group of 10, with prior reservation. The atmosphere is really nice and when the weather was good we were able to really enjoy the outdoor area. The service was ok, but some of them couldn't understand our language. The beer on offer tastes very good. My starter (pumpkin soup) was very tasty. However, the main course was almost a disaster. Completely tasteless and bland, the sauce tasted like a finished product. The dessert (piece of cake) was OK. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't ask me (as usual) whether everything was OK, otherwise I would have told her. However, perhaps you knew about the current daily output of the kitchen and therefore avoided asking the question. Big drawback for me: We also chose the restaurant because Schäufele was on the online menu. Even the same morning we were there, I looked at the menu online and found Schäufele on the lunch table. This could no longer be found on site in the maps laid out, and there was none when asked. Interesting that you manage to update cards, print them out countless times and distribute them on tables, but not update them online. Conclusion: Actually a good restaurant with a great ambience. There is room for improvement in the service and in the taste and quality of the main courses.

Were there to celebrate an anniversary party. The service staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty. Create a very nice atmosphere. It was a nice evening.

We had our wedding at the Bootshaus in Bamberg and can only warmly recommend the location! The communication in advance was absolutely problem-free, all of our wishes were taken into account, and we felt that we were in good hands with all of our questions and small concerns. On the wedding day itself, everything was wonderfully relaxed. The entire team, especially the waitresses, were super friendly and made every wish possible. Etwas größer als ein Bierdeckel und ca 25mm hoch, nach Rückfrage sei dies eine 16er Vorlagegröße und in diesem Lokal normal. Ich betrachte dies als Abzocke. **Bei Bestellung unbedingt vorher Schauen wie das Tortenstück ausfällt. (SIEHE BILD)**

Well, usually busy in the summer evenings. Food can be recommended. The map shows a good selection. Drinks, everything there. The service staff is friendly and quick. We were satisfied and will come back. The location at the foot ensures variety, and every now and then recreational athletes pass by the restaurant. From the Camping Island site you can cycle towards the city center if you keep left on the island and always follow the foot, past the restaurant. Go there.

Large beer garden directly on the river.

We were sitting outside. A few colleagues and I after work. I didn't eat anything myself (it was a bit too expensive for me as part of the event, but I don't think these are unusual prices for Bamberg). Regarding the service: the people were normally friendly. A colleague had asked for a slice of bread, but could only have gotten three slices because they could only be billed in that denomination... The staff can't do anything about that, but I don't think the boathouse will go bankrupt straight away. when they give out a slice of bread like that... Especially since one of the three slices of bread that was there when my colleague was plucking it only consisted of bread crust with a huge hole where there should have been dough... I would have objected to that... All of them other dishes were plentiful and apparently tasty. My beer was house brand red beer. It didn't convince me that much, but that's my personal taste. The boathouse is (who would have thought) located directly on the river. The atmosphere is very nice.

Nice facility. Food normal, nothing special. Bicycles are in front of the toilet, even though it says in front of the beer garden that bicycles are not allowed to be parked in the beer garden. Apparently these are the employees' bikes that are actually parked in front of the disabled toilet. This is something to think about.

Beautiful and beautifully located beer garden. I had a coffee here that was actually good quality, but unfortunately it tasted burnt. I suspect the machine is set too hot or hasn't been serviced for a while. Our waitresses were all very young, but they did their job well, even if the overall atmosphere, at least on the day, wasn't that great. The price level is rather high, which was reflected in the audience. It wasn't mine.

A nice destination on the river. Without our tour guide we would not have gotten to see this idyllic place. The food was good and the portion was decent. The beer was sensationally good. The service was brisk. Well attended for a Monday evening (the weather was ideal, not too hot and not too cool). For people who are sensitive to the cold, we still recommend taking a jacket with you in the evening hours. Great place. Gladly again. There were four of us.

A mango is part of the meal. e.g. schnitzel with potato salad was made in 5 minutes!!! at the table. Unfortunately, it dried out and became tough due to the long “keep warm”. Meat quality and freshness leave a lot to be desired. The potato salad was a little bland and had little taste. Sorry, but for the price you can expect a little more quality. Real pan schnitzel, great fries, thick and crispy, great Sunday roasts... my guests and I were very excited, also by the great location. And the landlord's home-brewed beer was the cherry on top. We are already looking forward to the outdoor season in the beautiful garden on the Regnitz.

Our answer to the question of whether everything was okay: the snack plate, yes, but the shish kebab pot was pretty tight, so it was definitely not enough to fill you up and also too expensive - we were then told that there's nothing I can do about that... Next time we'll go to a beer garden in one of the breweries again!

It's a wonderful place to sit right next to the water - and enjoy the atmosphere. The food was great - the dressing on the mixed salad was simply delicious. Very friendly staff and absolutely decent value for money. You should definitely stop here after the tour through the Hainpark.

Very nice beer garden right on the river. We were able to get a table twice directly on the bank and watch the rowers train. The Weiherer lager beer from the Steinkrug tasted delicious! I would particularly like to highlight Ahmed as the waitress, very nice and always good for a tip, keyword Weiherer Hopfenweizen. I can't rate the food, but it was just the usual beer garden food, there's certainly better in Bamberg.

A nice beer garden! Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. My cheese spaetzle was missing the cheese (it was more of a cream sauce) and the salad was missing the dressing. The service could be more attentive. I wouldn't recommend the place. This was confirmed to me by locals in Bamberg's old town the evening after our visit there. A pity ....

Very nice restaurant, good service, but the food is poor by Bamberg standards. My cheese spaetzle had nothing in common with classic cheese spaetzle.

Also, das war ja Mal gar nichts! Völlig überteuertes Essen und die halbe Bier 4,50€! Denen scheint Corona völlig in den Kopf gestiegen zu sein. Von Qualität kann man da erst Mal gar nicht sprechen. Das Personal in der Küche scheint gar keine Ahnung von der Zubereitung von Speisen zu haben. Für mich steht fest: Nie wieder, das hat NULL Niveau und ist wucherteuer. Frank Rosin würde sagen: Das könnt Ihr Euren Gästen nicht zumuten, jede Hausfrau kann das besser👎

My wife and I celebrated our wedding in the boathouse in June 2024. It was perfect down to the smallest detail. The ambience on the Regnitz is of course a dream. We live in Bamberg and have been coming to the boathouse for several years. The beer is great, the view of the water is tempting (especially for the kids) and generally everyone there is very friendly and well organized. Good Franconian cuisine and good dishes for vegetarians/vegans I think. When looking for a good location for our celebration, we quickly chose the boathouse. The hall and bar are in top, new condition. We really liked the opportunity to spontaneously sit outside for coffee/cake when the weather was good and in general we felt very well looked after by the couple who ran it. Everything fit together very well. The preparations were very professional, personal and completed quickly. Mela knows what she's doing and gave us a good schedule, which - however she figured it out so quickly - suited us perfectly. Decoration, table organization, drinks and food coordination, space for childcare/sleeping, etc. - everything was great. The actual celebration took place outdoors and then indoors in the best weather. The buffet was top notch. Really all the guests were very enthusiastic about the selection and especially the quality. We had everything with us: meat, fish, seafood, and first of all a completely outstanding vegan soup (I'm the complete opposite of a vegan and I could have bathed in it). I passed up dessert because I overfed it, but my wife and the other guests were very happy here too. The midday night snack with a fabulous cheese platter should be a must for all future brides and grooms at the Bootshaus. Extended the party by another two hours. The bar team was great too. Fast, friendly and forgiving when the groom had a minor accident ;-) They had everything well under control at all times. Buffett, drinks replenishment etc. everything was top notch. I would recommend the photo box to everyone. Especially the GIF function. Legend. The photos will still make us laugh 30 years from now. A company was recommended to us for lighting and sound. The facility was great. At a later hour we had it at about 3/4 of the volume and it really boomed. Lighting effects were light-to-sound and great too. We started without a DJ or band and had prepared playlists etc. Not because of the budget, but just because we wanted to do our own thing. Was just right for us. I put together an iPad and go. I would recommend that every guest think first about whether they want to visit the boathouse. We then left without eating.

This restaurant has always been a highlight for me when visiting Bamberg! Nice location, great ambience with large portions and very fair prices. But the prices have now become so brutally expensive that I have to think twice about visiting this restaurant again. A simple Viennese-style pan schnitzel costs 19 euros here. That borders on Munich conditions. An Obazda costs an incredible 13 euros with just 2 mini balls. I'm just at a loss for words.

We had our wedding reception in the boathouse. 1. Organizing in advance: Clear communication, no vague talk. Lots of options and party supplies to choose from. The boss lives it and feels it. Clear communication should therefore not be misunderstood. It is extremely important to her that the day is perfect. And it's not her wedding. Hats off to you for this effort. 2. Commutation during planning: Always available, always with an open ear. 3. the celebration: The boss (his own beers are very tasty, please try my favorite is the light one) is a great guy and brings a lot of calm to the shop. The boss is the head of the celebration, knew all the processes and knew how things worked. The service was always very nice and sufficient; we never had to wait if we wanted to order something. (We were 90 people). Picking up your own things the next day was completely relaxed. I take my hat off to this location and the whole organization behind it - a perfect evening on a perfect day with a perfect woman. Thank you for everything and keep it up!!!

We were there on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, some of the food was disappointing. Some of the dishes like the curry were very tasty, but other dishes like the baked feta or the lentil stew were rather disappointing. In my opinion, the size and quality did not match the price. Furthermore, the service left something to be desired and the beer garden closed at 8 p.m. and not at 10 p.m. as posted.

Unfortunately there was no hot food at that time (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.). With so many visitors, a lot of food could have been sold, but I understand that the kitchen also needs rest. Otherwise, the quality will understandably decrease, as is often the case elsewhere. It's definitely worth a visit and I'll come back.

The Bootshaus restaurant is a beautiful location in the middle of the grove and right on the water. It's not just a visit to the beer garden that's worth it... We were lucky enough to be able to celebrate our wedding here. From the first contact to our big day, everything went wonderfully. We always felt like we were in good hands and all of our wishes were taken into account. The celebration actually exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have imagined a better wedding 💕. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, incredibly delicious food. Many/almost all of the dishes were prepared vegan for us. We had many guests who traveled a long way and everyone was thrilled!
