Idyllic location, surrounded by greenery and close to the city, ideal for hot days. However, we close earlier in inclement weather.

The Bootshaus is a popular spot in Bamberg. You can sit right by the water and enjoy delicious food and drinks in the beer garden. You don't always get a seat right away, but even when it's full, the wait is usually short. Definitely recommended.

A lovely spot in Bamberg to relax right by the river. A typical Franconian beer garden with typical Franconian dishes, a good beer selection, and very friendly service. Anyone visiting Bamberg should stop by and enjoy the Upper Franconian atmosphere.

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Bamberg. Great location, friendly staff, and the food is also very tasty. However, I find the prices absolutely excessive for the portion sizes. My shashlik dish consisted of three spoonfuls of sauce, three pieces of meat, and two pieces of bell pepper, and came to around €14. A dumpling with sauce for €5.50 isn't exactly great either.

I had lunch at the Bootshaus today, and I have to say, I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time. The dish of the day: breaded mushrooms were undercooked and mushy. The spaetzle were mushy and covered in a mushy flour sauce. The taste, just like the look: inedible! Not going back anytime soon ☹️ The whole thing was probably the work of a bleary-eyed student!! Oh yeah, the whole thing was topped off with a chicken leg. Seriously??

Beautifully located directly on the Regnitz River. Very attentive staff. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right. The "Form" schnitzel is mass-produced, and it tastes that way, too. It's a shame that the prices are too high and the quality isn't up to scratch.

Initially headed for it from Nürnberg after finding it on maps, but the driver suggested switcing directly to the Bamberg music, maybe on a other occasion.

The Wiener schnitzel was wafer-thin and delicious, and the snack platter was absolutely amazing. The location on the Regnitz River was perfect, and the service was very attentive. Of course, it was packed despite the beautiful weather, but there weren't long waits. It's a bit far from Hamburg, but that's the only negative.

The view of the river is beautiful. Our meals were consistently delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not good. Our confirmed reservation seemed to have been lost, and as a group of seven, we were lucky to get a table. One drink arrived incorrectly, and one meal arrived 15 minutes later than all the other orders. The service was inattentive and unfriendly.

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend direkt am Wasser. Das Essen und der Service waren gut, nur die Pommes haben keinem von uns nicht geschmeckt. Da würde ich die Sorte wechseln. Ambiente traumhaft, die Gondel fuhr auch vorbei, das Essen hat ein wenig Luft nach oben. Wir kommen wieder. (Und testen die Pommes).

This restaurant has completely disqualified itself. Two people with walking disabilities weren't offered a table with a backrest, even though we had reserved a table for four and there were tables with backrests available. Therefore, my urgent advice: only visit this beer garden if you can make a reservation by phone. This wasn't the case.

The waitress swapped the non-alcoholic beer for regular beer. This shouldn't happen, as you're counting on being able to drive after your visit. Another waitress delivered a completely different (more expensive) beer than the one ordered. Unfortunately, the waitresses were completely clueless. It's a shame, as the atmosphere is generally pleasant.

The Bootshaus Restaurant im Hain offers a great location directly on the Regnitz River and a pleasant atmosphere, especially in the beer garden. The dishes are fresh and delicious, and the selection is good. Unfortunately, the service wasn't quite as convincing – a young girl was quite cheeky and seemed annoyed, which somewhat dampened the impression. Fortunately, we didn't let it spoil our good mood and enjoyed the rest of our stay. Overall, a pleasant experience, but the service could definitely be improved.

I quite enjoyed the house-brewed red beer, something different from what felt like 1,200 different Weiherer beers. I had the vegan curry with fresh vegetables and rice, which was decent value for money. The ambiance right on the Regnitz River is exceptional for me.

Very nice surroundings Staff very quick and courteous Two of us were satisfied with our dishes cheese spaetzle and gnocchi. I had the "shashlik pan" which was more of a "pan" but unfortunately wasn't at all. Then I had to order brazwurst with sauerkraut. Overall, the prices are top-notch for a beer garden! Wir waren mit der Firma hier, größere Gruppe mit Vorlauf. Planung war unkompliziert und angenehm. Auf alle Wünsche wurde Rücksicht genommen. Sehr freundliches Personal, Essen war sehr gut und unsere Gruppe war rundum zufrieden. Tolle Lage am Wasser, Park gleich daneben und sehr schöne Räumlichkeiten auch für große Feiern. Die Deko war wirklich gelungen. Danke an Mela, Elem und das ganze Team für den schönen Abend und wir kommen sicher wieder. Klare Empfehlung von unserer Seite.

The Bootshaus is a truly beautiful beer garden, located directly on the Regnitz River. Unfortunately, many people were reserved, so we couldn't sit directly by the river. One criticism I have is that I can't understand why they simply don't cancel reservations if the people in question don't show up... The food is quite okay, with room for improvement. I had a vegan curry for €14, but I don't think it's quite good value for money. It takes a while to get the food and drinks, but the service itself is friendly.

Great location, delicious food. However, when you come on holidays with good weather, the kitchen is quite overwhelmed. We had shards of porcelain in our food, which was quite shocking. Of course, this doesn't happen intentionally, but it seriously undermined our confidence in the food and hygiene.

We celebrated our wedding at the Boathouse in Bamberg and were completely satisfied! Both the planning beforehand and the day itself were stress-free, and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. We and our guests felt completely at home and would definitely recommend the Boathouse for a celebration! :)

If you want to get out of town on foot for a bite to eat and a drink, you should head to the Bootshaus. Beautifully situated in a tree-filled park right on the river, it's a dream come true in good weather. They serve exceptional beers, and they're good, too. The food is fairly standard, but certainly not bad. Service is friendly and attentive. On hot days, it can get crowded and a bit hectic. Dogs are very welcome here.

We were there for dinner. I had the baked Mediterranean feta cheese. It was a small portion for €14.40, with three slices of soft baguette. The cheese was just wrapped in aluminum foil with a few olive rings, tomato slices, and two small pepperonis. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for the food. My friend had the cheese spaetzle—which was packet spaetzle, ready-made sauce, and canned fried onions.

The restaurant is located directly on the water in a park-like setting. It's just a few minutes' walk to the old town. We had lovely summer weather that day, and the restaurant was moderately busy. We only had a few drinks and didn't take advantage of the extensive offerings. We would definitely go there again.

Charming beer garden! It was recommended to us after a rainy walk. The homemade cakes were all delicious, but unfortunately, the pieces were very uneven in size. The hot drinks were also delicious, and the freshly made cocoa came with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Topped off with a beautiful view.

Very nice location on the Regnitz River, but the food could have been better value for money. The Kässpätzle were packaged spaetzle with more cream than cheese and pre-fried onions (at least you could make those yourself for that price). The portions could be a bit larger, too. The beer selection is excellent, though! So, it's always worth stopping by for a Seidla (literally, "beer") in the Hain, although the food could be improved.

Very nice beer garden. Quiet location by the water. Reservation possible via internet. Bicycle parking spaces available. Close to the old town. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly. What comes to the table here in a very short time as pan-fried schnitzel for around €18 looks like toast. It was probably finished cooking in the convector mat. The shashlik pot used to be better there too. Too bad! Even the staff speaks with a foreign accent and doesn't understand everything the Franconian says.

Nice atmosphere outside 👍🏻 Snack was good so far. Unfortunately, sausage with music was nothing.. The stock was not sour at all.. just water and oil.. No salt and pepper in it and no vinegar. Fries were delicious too. Chicken nuggets, on the other hand, are less good.

Typical beer garden atmosphere, friendly and fast staff... That's how you could describe it relatively quickly. We even had a little live music from the Stassenmusikant every now and then. The only small drawback is that there is only food after 5 p.m. We were there at lunchtime. There was cake and pretzels. But what the heck. Otherwise everything is rock solid. Can be recommended.

The boathouse is beautifully located in the grove right on the river. There is a large, idyllic beer garden on site. Since the place is very popular, there is often no space left. Particularly noteworthy is the online reservation, which is quick and uncomplicated. The service is also worth highlighting. Beautiful beer garden directly on the Regnitz and the Heinbad. Reservations should be made on weekends and public holidays in the summer season! Price-performance is consistent. The selection of food, cakes and drinks is good. The landlord sells his home-made red beer, which is very tasty. All in all, a clear recommendation; this is a good place to take a break, especially by bike or on foot.

We spontaneously stopped by here on a Sunday with changeable weather and were able to enjoy a nice little break right by the river. Although the beer garden was only sparsely attended due to the weather, the seats directly at the Regnitz were quickly taken - a clear sign of the special seating atmosphere on site. Especially on sunny days, it may be worth making a reservation if you want a spot right by the water. The dishes were all visually very appealing. In terms of taste, we found the cuisine to be solid. We can also recommend the cakes, which also left a positive impression with a cup of coffee. In my opinion, the service is particularly noteworthy: the staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our entire stay! In summary, a good address to take a short break in a nice atmosphere during a walk.

We went to this beautiful beer garden right on the water several times. Both the food and the drinks are really great. Here you won't actually be looked at stupidly if you just want to have a drink (which is probably not always the case in Bamberg). A clear recommendation for both the food and the drinks. Some of the staff are new and that's why it's still a bit bumpy, but that's not a problem at all.

There has always been a beautiful beer garden right on the Regnitz, in the middle of the Bamberg Grove. The price is therefore rather high for what is offered. The problem: unfortunately the food is not expensive, but average at best. A (vegetarian) beetroot salad for almost €16 consists mostly of leaf lettuce and just a few slices of beetroot, apple, cucumber and tomato. Large portion, but not filling at all. Unfortunately, the rhubarb crumble cake (€4.8) is not fresh and tastes as if it had been stored (uncovered!) in a musty fridge or freezer. The cappuccino is watery and limp. All in all, just under 4 stars. The beautiful view is amazing, but we don't get to eat anymore.

Thank you very much for this great service, beautiful surroundings and the great food, 1x roulade and 1 x mushroom dish with dumplings. But the best thing is that there are senior plates. Full marks, we will definitely be back

Unfortunately, I can only give it one star for the location. The rest... a disaster 🤨 We went to a murder mystery dinner and had been looking forward to it for weeks. Upon arrival, we were initially disappointed by the ambiance. No decorations appropriate to the occasion (we've experienced something different), the tables carelessly set. A bit of decoration in the middle with beer mugs containing cutlery and napkins from the beer garden. Horrible... very inappropriate for the evening. Then the dinner began... The spectacle was more bad than good, difficult to understand, and completely humorless. When the main courses arrived, the disaster was complete. The roulade was gray, the sauce heavy with vinegar, and the potatoes dripping with oil. Others at the table had salmon with fresh spinach... well, the salmon was so dry that it was inedible, and the spinach was a thick mush that pulled strings when eaten. My friend's gnocchi were so hard they cracked when eaten. We called it quits here. €90 per person was clearly too much. To this day, we don't know who the murder victim was, but we suspect it was the cook.
