Zum Einhornskeller in Bamberg

We had dinner at the Einhornskeller for our annual outing, and we were well looked after. Alex treated us to a smaller menu on Friday evening, as there were 65 of us. Everything went very well, and we were very satisfied. On Saturday, we had a beer tasting with a beer sommelier, followed by a BBQ, also organized by Alex. Thank you again for that!

We were here for dinner today. We shared the wild boar sausage and the cordon bleu, both of which were beautifully prepared. For dessert, we had chocolate cake and apple fritters (or something like that ;-)), both very delicious. The value for money is absolutely convincing, the service extremely friendly, and the beer excellent! We were completely satisfied and would gladly return.

After 3 days of terrible food, I was in a really bad mood, and on vacation, too 🤣 By chance, I found 'zum Einhornskeller' on Google under now open... Nothing better could have happened! Fantastically delicious food, super friendly service, and the front room where we ate was incredibly cozy. The acoustic panels were also a great idea; they allow for a relaxed conversation without being overwhelmed by the noise 😁👍 Thank you so much for the great food. Now I'm finally feeling better after 3 days 🤣

I can't comment on the interior, but the beer garden offered a pleasant atmosphere. The service was attentive and super friendly. The food, as well as the house beer, is highly recommended.

We only had a few drinks, but it was still very nice...especially away from the tourist crowds.

Unfortunately, I can't say much about it, as we were already quite spoiled that evening. The food was very tasty, though. The beer wasn't so good. The service was good, but a bit slow, hence the four stars.

Unfortunately, negative reviews based on on-site experiences, which were objectively described and, incidentally, also included positive aspects, are reported and deleted by the owner due to alleged defamation. What a pity… I really enjoyed the place otherwise.

Nice service. But unfortunately understaffed and not very well organized. Our order was forgotten, and several tables that arrived significantly later than us received their food before us. We sat there for over an hour. The beers were good, but unfortunately, we can't say anything about the food. Then we left. Of course, we reported this after a while, but after that, the next table got their food (the dishes we ordered).

We (two adults and two children) made a detour to Bamberg on our way back from vacation and stopped off at the 'Zun Einhornskeller' restaurant that evening. We found a nice table in the beer garden. The service was good, the food (as well as the drinks) were delicious, and the prices (compared to various other restaurants in North Rhine-Westphalia) were very reasonable. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening in a wonderful city.

There's a small menu, but unfortunately, there aren't many vegetarian options. However, special requests like two dumplings with gravy were no problem. 👍 Overall, the atmosphere inside is nice; it looks like a brewery, but the rock music makes it feel more modern.

A good variety of different dishes for meat consumers and vegetarians alike. We had some Cheese Spätzle and Salad. The Spätzle were well made and served in a hot pan. The ambiance is very relaxed and cozy. The staff is friendly.

Beautiful garden, delicious food

We had made a reservation for 8 people at 12:00 on Saturday. Since it wasn't clear whether they were open (the website says from 5:00 p.m., and continuously from May onwards), we called again. They said, "Of course we're here," and "you made your reservation online, so you're already listed." When we arrived at 12:00 p.m., eight people were standing hungry in front of a locked door. Not a good advertisement for the place... but we were lucky and found a great place that was willing to serve us, namely the Kachelofen. Very delicious food, and open at the stated times :-)

A definite recommendation for the Einhornskeller! We had a cozy spot in the beer garden. The food was fantastic; we had a juicy cordon bleu with delicious fried potatoes and salad. The portions were huge, and the value for money was top-notch! And we don't even need to mention the delicious Bamberg beer.

A little off the beaten track, you can enjoy a wonderful meal in a beautifully landscaped beer garden. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The beer is, of course, delicious, as everywhere in Bamberg. All at a fair price; I'd go back anytime.

Good, home-style Franconian cuisine. We had dinner with a large group on Friday evening. The wait staff was a bit overwhelmed but extremely friendly and nice. Drinks were served very quickly, but after an hour of waiting, we asked if we could order food. The waiter looked at us in surprise and responded hesitantly, "Yes, of course." The food was relatively inexpensive by Bamberg standards, and the quality was good but not outstanding, but the value for money was perfectly fine. The ambiance was understatedly modern and could still improve a few things. The place was quite busy, and we were glad we had pre-ordered, as there were 15 of us. We'll definitely be repeat customers 😊😉...

Beautiful historic location. But after 25 minutes, we still had nothing to drink. And that was on a Saturday afternoon with 10 percent capacity. That took too long, so we left without consuming anything.

We went to the einhornskeller on Tuesday and the menu was kept small. But the selection was good in my opinion. We had rabbit in white wine sauce and wild boar sausages with fried potatoes and sauerkraut. Everything was very tasty, especially the sauerkraut was really good.

Unfortunately, a big disappointment - especially on a day like Mother's Day We were really looking forward to our visit to the Einhornkeller and reserved a table that same morning at 11 a.m. sharp. This reservation could no longer be found on site. We were then seated at a table, but unfortunately a lot went wrong from the start. The waitress took a long time to even come to the table, and the drinks also took an extremely long time to arrive. When they were finally brought, there were already a few things wrong: Instead of lemonade, there was orange lemonade, and instead of the bottle of wine my parents had ordered, only two glasses were initially served. It was only after we asked that the bottle we ordered arrived - with another significant delay. Things didn't get any better when eating: the aioli that I had specially ordered was underneath my friend's schnitzel - making it no longer edible for me as a vegetarian. My salad plate came without the usual bread, with a note saying “bread is out”. Shortly afterwards I saw bread on other plates, which was apparently still available. My mother's meal was a completely different dish than what we ordered - so we had to wait again until the right one came, it only came after more than 30 minutes and was unfortunately cold - by then we had already eaten everything! and no more energy for further discussions. We wanted to talk to the boss, but he wasn't there. The waitress was understanding, but no one had apologized until then - and we weren't offered an alternative. After our conversation, the waitress called the boss and we quickly realized that he didn't care - the main thing was that we paid the bill. By the way, this was over 90 euros. For this price, for the amount of errors and above all for this behavior - especially on a day like Mother's Day - I have no understanding. The fact that the boss shows no interest in feedback and reacts in such a tone is an absolute no-go for us.

Six of us had dinner here today and it was simply great! 😊 The service was super friendly and accommodating – we felt very comfortable. The food was very good, and the beer garden was like a little oasis in the middle of our beautiful old town. 😊

The restaurant was particularly recommended to me. So I was a little disappointed. From my point of view, nothing special. Rather simple dishes but at a fair price. Seems to be largely based on regulars who seem to enjoy it. It's just a matter of taste.

The Schäufele with savoy cabbage and the pulled pork were excellent. The apple fritters at the neighboring table also looked great and were highly praised. The young service lady was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself appears traditionally rustic and therefore very authentic. The old corner bench can also wobble a bit😊 The restaurant is located just outside the center of Bamberg and is an excellent place to stop after you have completed the hike to Altenburg. An absolute recommendation.

Rustic Franconian inn with beautiful wooden tables. Even without a reservation, you can still get a place for two on Sunday lunchtime. The food was very, very tasty and the service was exceptionally nice - for Franconian standards, :-)

We often come to the unicorn. Super friendly service, cozy interior and atmosphere, everyone feels comfortable and welcome here. High-quality dishes and regional beer as well as the cozy beer garden are a highlight in Bamberg, and things are usually less touristy here. Thumbs up, keep it up!

I ate there with my family when we were visiting my brother and all I can say is that the food on offer is incredibly tasty. We sat outside and were able to enjoy the beautiful fairy lights and the atmosphere in the evening. The service was also quick and really nice. I'm looking forward to eating there next time.<3

Surprisingly good! This restaurant is somewhat inconspicuously located in the middle of a residential area. After walking past it four times into the city, we decided to visit it on our last evening in Bamberg. Small menu - something for everyone. Tafelspitz with super horseradish and Córdoba Bleu of the house were a very good decision!

The food is very delicious and worth the price. It's an old restaurant that's been open since 1489.

At the end of the visit to Bamberg we stopped at “Einhorns Keller”. A little outside in a quiet location, a beer garden in the back yard, not visible from the outside, to relax and regain your strength and round off your visit to Bamberg with a good shot of beer and a decent meal before heading back to your accommodation...

We came here spontaneously and were completely satisfied! Bad weather was forecast, which is why the beer garden wasn't actually open. However, the weather changed and the team had to reschedule. The guys were unprepared for this and understaffed - but thanks to open and honest communication with the guests, it went smoothly (for us)! We were treated very friendly and warmly, the drinks and food came quickly and it tasted incredibly delicious! Absolute recommendation and we would be happy to come back next time we visit Bamberg!

Beautifully located above the cathedral, nice service staff, great owners. Food was really very tasty. Small but nice beer garden outside also invites you to sit and relax. There is a small playhouse in the garden for children.

Was in the einhornskeller again after many years, the seating was simple but ok, the food was too expensive & small portions, for potatoes with vegetables and aioli just under 16 euros. For me it was a no go because the taste of the food wasn't anything special. Therefore no recommendation from me.

If you are looking for a real piece of Franconia, you should definitely stop by the Einhornskeller - a restaurant where the food and the people are real! The Einhornskeller not only impresses with its authentic Franconian cuisine, but also with an atmosphere that is far away from any tourist hustle and bustle - comfortable, cozy and above all REAL. The meal was simply a culinary taste experience. The service is also exceptional - friendly, attentive, funny and all without being intrusive. Everyone was in a good mood here - visitors and staff. We were treated as guests like friends and were right in the middle of it all instead of just there. A wonderful evening that we will not forget and which ended unexpectedly and much later than planned with five people from all over the country in front of the "pub door"! Big thanks to Alex & Amadeus and warm greetings to Reinhard, Carlos & Kathrin.

Despite the fact that it was Saturday evening and we didn't have a reservation, we got a spot. The beef broth was delicious, the wild boar ragout was just good. And kudos to the owner, despite it being full, for keeping an overview and remaining friendly, respect!
