Wilde-Rose-Keller in Bamberg

The location on Stephansberg is super relaxed, with a green beer garden and a great atmosphere that's perfect for chilling out. I ordered a currywurst with fries and a fresh draft Kellerbier. The currywurst was delicious and flavorful, just the way you like it in Franconia. The Kellerbier? Light, refreshing, and with that typical Franconian hop aroma. The service was self-service, friendly, and uncomplicated, even though it was busy. Ideal for a summer evening or after a stroll through Bamberg.

It's a very nice beer cellar. It's very well maintained. There's a playground for the kids. We enjoyed the food and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, you can't pay by card; only cash is accepted. I personally find this outdated, so I've deducted a star.

Beautiful beer garden with old trees, the ambiance is perfect. Delicious snacks, friendly hosts and service. The Kellerbier is a specialty. Brass bands are playing. We arrived very late last time. The kitchen is closed. It's just the way it is. "Oh," said the nice man at the sausage grill, "you don't have to go hungry, how many of you are there? I'll put a few more sausages on the grill for you." Thank you so much, you're absolutely fantastic. Hospitality is a top priority with you 😃👍

Arguably one of the most beautiful beer cellars in Franconia. While not the best view, it does have an outstanding atmosphere. Regularly free live music, excellent beer, and delicious food (hot and cold). Shaded seating, a playground for children. Parking is free (limited space, but quite plentiful). It's best reached by bike or on foot. Insider tip: Bring your own snack (no drinks!) in a basket, and don't forget the tablecloth! Then pick up delicious beer and drinks from the bar. A truly enjoyable experience in a homely atmosphere!

It's always nice to come here, with a very good cellar (beer garden) and the only one in Bamberg with its own parking lot. You can also sit under a roof or inside the pub.

Doesn’t have the views Spezial-Keller does but still a fun biergarten with great beers and a real local community vibe. Food looks good but we were surprised with a limited Sunday menu so we didn’t get anything as the items we wanted were not available. Counter service. A bunch of trees but not much cover so might not be best place to go when raining. Worth a visit 🙂

Wer einen Urlaub / Aufenthalt in Bamberg plant, MUSS unbedingt diesen tollen Biergarten besuchen. Er bietet eine Menge Platz für nette Gäste. Im Biergarten ist Selbstbedienung, die Servicekraft an Essensausgabe und der Service in der Küche ist superschnell und sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist hervorragend und am Getränkeausschank wird man sehr gut bei der Wahl des Bieres beraten.

Subba Keller! Delicious Franconian food, amazing beer, incredibly friendly people, and the music! Wow! The prices are fair and you're always welcome, including a playground and ping-pong table if needed. Simply great! Definitely worth a visit!

A beautiful, albeit quite large, cellar. Even when it was busy, the lines for food and drinks weren't that long, and service moved quickly. It's great that the beautiful bandstand is being renovated.

Large beer garden with a large playground. Very suitable for families with children. The selection of food and drinks is very extensive. We had the Wild Rose schnitzel and cheese spaetzle. The schnitzel was hot and delicious, but the fries were unfortunately a bit old, and the cheese spaetzle was bland and dry. The snack plates looked good. As a city kid, I was surprised that you can also bring your own food.

E-bikes are easier, of course 😉. Plenty of parking on site. The atmosphere under the many old trees is very pleasant. Plenty of play areas for children.

One of the best in Bamberg, unfortunately still only with cash payment. As soon as the “future” arrives here and we can pay by card or cell phone, I will be happy to give it 5 stars.

We were down here and wanted to sing a serenade to our best man... Then the lady of the house came over and told us that we could finish our drinks and leave... apparently no fun in life and not flexible with customers... stubborn concept... if you like it, it's good... not my thing

The ambiance was very pleasant. However, our sociable group of men was abruptly asked to leave after singing a song they themselves had sung. A little more sensitivity would have been appropriate here. Thanks for nothing.

The ambiance is truly top-notch, but the service is awful. We were a fun group of guys who just wanted to have a good time singing. However, we were denied this, and thus a wonderful day. It's a shame, really. Not recommended for an afternoon of fun and excitement.

Unfortunately, I can only give this beer garden one star, as any mood swings are immediately put to rest by the staff... It's a shame, because this place has potential for at least four stars... The name, unfortunately, is apt... Keller... it seems like you have to laugh here!

The beer is good. There's no music. You're not allowed to play music through a small speaker. Singing isn't OK either, because you'll get kicked out immediately. But the dog barks the whole time from the side. I've never experienced anything like it before.

Finally, a cellar with vegan options. Two stars for that. Unfortunately, the portions are far too small. The vegan currywurst was enough to make your teeth swell. We had to eat something else afterward. What a shame.

Very bad food. The meat was tough and lukewarm. We were the first guests of the day. There's no excuse. Very good beer—but it's not worth eating for. Better to go somewhere else...

Been here for the second time. And as a Ruhrpott child. The cellar is a little further out, and the walk is arduous. But it's worth it. Totally relaxed atmosphere. You arrive, find a seat, get a beer and food, and just enjoy. Groups with children, families, men's groups, women's groups. There's something for everyone here. Large beer selection. Typical Bamberg food. Self-service. Our dog was there, of course. Only open when the weather is good.

Cozy self-service beer garden. The line for drinks was quite long on June 1, 2025, though. Standing in line for 20 minutes in 30-degree heat isn't exactly fun. Perhaps they could have a few more staff at the counter during peak times. That would increase beer sales.

I really enjoyed my visit. The beer and food were delicious, but our highlight was the new employee with the neatly trimmed beard. He expertly rearranged the chairs in the evening, creating a relaxed and orderly atmosphere that took the ambiance to the next level. We'll be back, especially when this young daredevil is back at work—a delight!

The beer was good. The food was okay. My favorite part was the waiter in a black T-shirt with a beard, who moved the chairs around really professionally. It looked like he'd never done anything else. I think he deserves a raise, no matter what he earns.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Wilde Rose Keller because the staff is very rude and forgetful. The pork dish of the day was undercooked. The only good thing was the beer.
