A truly fantastic pork knuckle with very flavorful sauerkraut. A delicious Müller-Thurgau wine paired perfectly with it, and liver dumpling soup served as a starter. Even two people couldn't finish it.

Good hotel in the middle of the old town. Large, well furnished room and a very good choice for breakfast. Restaurant was good, very busy but with a great atmosphere. Being in the old town was great and the location let us wander this medieval town with ease.

First of all, I'd like to point out that the restaurant prices in the city center seemed reasonable to me. Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy and warm atmosphere. The welcome was fresh and friendly. It was quite busy, and we were quickly assigned a good seat. The beer, well-tapped and cold, arrived promptly. The liver dumplings in the broth were impressive in terms of taste and quality, as was the main course. Now I understand the pricing of the local restaurants: as mentioned, they're reasonable, but for an adult, it's recommended to have an additional starter or dessert to fill you up. Great team, high-quality food, and cozy. Reservations are recommended for lunch or dinner.

A very nice, rustic inn. The food was excellent (pork fillet in pepper sauce and a couple of large sausages), and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.

Delicious beer 🍺 and great food. High-quality cuisine with great taste. Very busy, centrally located. Excellent service and very friendly. What surprised me a lot: no cards are allowed. The manager would have banned it, as it would have escalated with some people. It's fine to ban people here, of course, but not those who behave impeccably! This should be reconsidered in this day and age, as it represents precisely the evil of society. A few people step out of line, and everyone else has to restrain themselves!

The Ringlein Restaurant is located in the heart of Bamberg's old town and impresses with its excellent cuisine and authentic charm! The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and arrived without a long wait. I would especially like to highlight the friendly and attentive service – you felt welcome from the very beginning. The ambiance is traditional and cozy, perfectly suited to the historic surroundings. A definite recommendation for anyone looking to enjoy good food in Bamberg and experience typical Franconian hospitality!

We just got some beers from the tap and drank them outside – the beer was very good! Much, much better than across the alley 😉

Here you can drink draft beer from 4 Bamberg breweries ( Mahr , Spezial , Schlenkerla, Kessmann) and 2 more by the bottle Göller and Maisels. So stopping here helps you try a good variety of local Bamberg Beer.

Absolutely unbelievable rip-off! Just arrived in Bamberg, got our first beer and didn't notice that we'd been given a broken glass. When we returned it, we didn't get our deposit back because the glass was broken. I can understand that they don't take broken glasses back, but then they should also be fair and give out intact ones. You won't see us here again.

We were "only" here for dinner, but everything was perfect and we enjoyed it very much. I recommend the special smoked beer and the sausage salad with onions 👍🏻

Nice ambiance, friendly and fast service, great location, generous portions. Great for vegans who enjoy typical Franconian food, wonderful vegan bratwurst with sauerkraut – something you rarely find! A bit on the pricey side, but worth it! Also delicious beer, good dumplings, and delicious savoy cabbage!

I don't understand the bad reviews of the food. I had rösti with salmon, and my husband had the sauerbraten. The food came quickly, the portions were generous, and the quality was good. The salmon and meat were tender and flavorful, the salad was fresh, and the red cabbage was hearty. Friendly, quick service and a good beer selection.

Very difficult to find, as it's unclear whether you're allowed to drive into the street. We only drove in after calling the hotel for information. Otherwise, the staff was excellent, and so was the food.

We ordered the dinner special for two. It was excellent, however, after reading other people’s reviews I realize now later that we were missing a sausage as others who ordered the same thing received two and we only received one. Very disappointing after the fact and a star removed due to feeling taken advantage of since we couldn’t read the menu very well. There is an English translation but it is poorly translated as it didn’t specify how many sausages we should have received and only discovering the missing link after. Overall it was still delicious though and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We had a very good meal and felt very comfortable with the very friendly service. Thank you, and we'd be back anytime.

Unfortunately, a disappointing visit. We were there as a large group, but we were rudely forbidden from pushing two tables together – despite there being plenty of space. The waitress seemed annoyed and unwelcoming. The food was subpar and definitely didn't justify the price. And to top it off, the beer is the most expensive on the entire street. We definitely won't be going back.

If you're coming to Bamberg to party, this is the place to be. However, if you're traveling for business, you should avoid this hotel! It doesn't get quiet before 4-5 a.m., just before life starts up again. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town, from where everything is easily accessible, but also with the bars and a nightclub right outside. If the rooms were air-conditioned and you could keep the windows closed, it would certainly be a different situation. Otherwise, there's nothing bad to say, except perhaps that parking is very limited—there are too few, and they cost €22 a night!

Very central, but a bit noisy due to the people visiting other restaurants. With the windows closed, though, it was fine. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was OK; based on the reviews, I honestly expected more. The service staff at reception was a bit—let's say, "uncaring," but completely fine and certainly not unfriendly. A smile, for example, would have made you feel more welcome, but maybe the weekend was just too stressful.

Nothing special in Bamberg We visited this location on August 24th... unfortunately, like many things in Bamberg... it was a pure tourist trap....

We stopped by for a few drinks on the terrace. Slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Sternstrasse, yet still right in the center. Service impeccable.

We came all the way from another town because we used to like the restaurant. And then this: overpriced food of mediocre quality. The beer was the only good thing. Truly disappointing.

If you want to go sightseeing in Bamberg, this is the perfect starting point; it couldn't be more central. Parking is available, but at €22 per day, it's considerably more expensive than in the surrounding underground garages. The restaurant offers typical Franconian dishes, which overall taste quite solid. The five draft beers are, of course, worth mentioning. The rooms are quite large, but unfortunately, they don't have air conditioning. It gets very hot in the summer, and I don't recommend opening the windows, as it's a real nightmare downstairs, especially on weekends. And unfortunately, that doesn't stop after the bar closure. Breakfast and service are good and very friendly, both in the hotel and outside in the beer garden. Overall, we can recommend the hotel/restaurant.

We were here in Bamberg. It was very warm, and we first had a beer to go, which we enjoyed the proprietor's recommendation. When we then left the Kultur for lunch, we were greeted and served very warmly and courteously. The food is delicious, and the beer is excellent. We'd love to come back.

It was a nice place to sit, and the service was very friendly and attentive despite it being very busy. Eight of us were there and we all agreed that the food was average. Conclusion: It was a nice place to linger, but the food wasn't particularly special in our opinion.

Dear Ringlein team, We've been coming to you for 6 years. It's always wonderful to sit in the beer garden, enjoy delicious beer and Franconian delicacies, and the staff is great and cheerful (shoutout to Maik, Martin, and Max). The rooms are clean, everything is top-notch. Breakfast outside in the garden couldn't be better. And the car is parked next door in the hotel's garage. We'll definitely be back. We were "only" in the restaurant, not in the hotel. But the food was excellent, the location was super central yet still nice to sit in, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The value for money was also absolutely fine.

We were kicked out because we didn't want food. We had drinks and were then asked to leave.

If you only drink beer, you'll be turned away. I recommend simply drinking beer across the hall.

It was a transit overnight stay but it turned out to be a pleasant stay in a beautiful town to see! Very central hotel, with parking, well renovated. Excellent breakfast and kindness of the staff.

Hotel is definitely recommended! Location is perfect in the old city center... you drive with the car via the terrace into their garage. Max 1800 kg and 180 cm high. Room and breakfast are not special but location makes up for everything! Bamberg is a great town for a few days. All those half-timbered houses are beautiful to see.

I can't comment on the rooms; I only ate here and enjoyed the delicious Bamberg beer. The service is very attentive, no problem if you just want a drink. And the food is super delicious. Franconian cuisine, simply delicious. Highly recommended.

Delicious and authentic cuisine with a great outdoor seating area. Despite the busy times, service was always courteous and regularly checked in. Highly recommended :-)

We were greeted with the question of whether we really wanted to order something to eat, because if we only planned to order drinks, we should please leave. We wanted something to eat and ordered something, but in retrospect, we should have left immediately given the rude greeting.

My childhood friend and her daughters invited my boyfriend and me for dinner at Restaurant Alt-Ringlein during our recent vacation in Germany. The restaurant is beautiful and with all the authentic furnishings one expects to find in Franconia. My friend had made reservations, so we were seated immediately. Our server was very kind and efficient. We ordered the Sauerbraten, which came with a bread dumpling, but we were gladly accommodated when we asked to substitute for a potato dumpling. Other orders at our table included Kaesespaetzle and Turkey steak with French fries and salad. We also tried the Panna Cotta for dessert. Everything was excellent and we greatly enjoyed the evening.

Never go there on weekends, the hell loud parties around the hotel

Bamberg has a very beautiful old town. We stayed at the Hotel Alt Ringlein for three nights. We were neither greeted nor farewelled by the ladies at reception upon arrival. Such unfriendliness We have never experienced this in any hotel, without us guests they wouldn't have a job. A thank you to the lady at breakfast.

Franconian cuisine in quality and to fill you up - prices are okay! Drinks cheap.

Simply cult and a really cool operation. Nice room and probably the best Schäuferla in the whole area. The delicious Spezi smoked beer is also highly recommended, with which you can take your liver off the donor list. Always a great time. definitely worth a trip or two. I keep coming! 🍻

We came here to try the beer - and were not disappointed. The beer was fantastic, the service friendly and attentive. We particularly enjoyed our drink outside on the street, in bright sunshine on a busy Saturday, with lots of people strolling past. It was an all-round wonderful experience that we can recommend to everyone.

We were spontaneously in Bamberg and also spontaneously took a break here. Although the weather was rather cool, we sat outside (and we weren't the only ones, because it's nice to sit under the large umbrellas). The service(s) were super friendly and accommodating, Schäuferla with savoy cabbage, a poem and a mountain of fries + 6 Chicken McNuggets as a children's plate. The hotel's prime location in the middle of the beautiful old town of Bamberg. We were just as impressed by the friendly and attentive service staff in the restaurant as we were by the delicious, down-to-earth cuisine. Really recommended!

Good morning, So the Wi-Fi in my room was a little disappointing. It was just enough to send messages, but that wasn't a big deal. The location of the hotel is extremely good, right in the “Sandstrasse”, the hot spot of the best bars and restaurants in Bamberg. The room with bathroom was very clean and tidy. The employees are always friendly. The breakfast impressed me the most by far, although there wasn't a huge selection, the things that were offered were all fresh.

We had the scoop. Really tender and super tasty! Only recommended. Service very nice and competent.

The Ringlein restaurant scores points with its central location and traditional Franconian cuisine. The dishes, such as Schäufele (pork shoulder) and bratwurst, were delicious, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive; there's nothing to complain about here. What seriously spoiled the overall impression, however, was the unpleasant odor in the restaurant. It smelled musty and of chlorine (March 8, 2025). This unfortunately made the stay less than pleasant.

We ate here and sat outside. It's naturally a very touristy (and accordingly crowded) location, but it's also a beautiful central spot in Bamberg. We had a very nice spot to watch the activity around the square. The food and service were good. The good value for money was surprising, considering the central location—I would have expected higher prices here.

Great hotel, service and customer experience. Smokey bier garten next door with lots of inside and outside singing and jocularity is major plus.
