Very good food and exceptionally friendly service, we were here for the second time now, but we will definitely come here again.

We ate here in the beer garden. Fast, friendly service every time, even for repeat orders. The food was great. Once the hearty Franconian Schäufela and the vegetarian baked potato with avocado cream and salad. A real recommendation!

Wedding party of 20 people and 1-2 people didn't want to eat. For this reason, all wedding guests were sent away. The restaurant could still have made good sales. But apparently that's not necessary. We ended up staying at “Scheiners”. We were warmly welcomed and looked after there.

A large group of people and one doesn't want to eat? The Alt-Ringlein probably can't use that, so we were sent away. Too bad.

The food in the outdoor lighting was very good and plentiful. Highly recommended salad with warm chanterelles. The atmosphere was good, the weather was excellent. All highly recommended.

Simply impossible! I used to really enjoy coming here but unfortunately not in the future! We were a group of 20 people who wanted to go to the beer garden at 2 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. We then got two tables. Up until here everything was good. Then a really very unfriendly and annoyed person came from the service. After 2 people out of 20 didn't want to eat anything, they just wanted to drink something, we were turned away from the beer garden. The message was that we are there at rush hour and it is not possible for us to take people's seats. When we said that 18 people would eat something, it became even more unpleasant. We were then told that we didn't own the beer garden and that he could decide for himself who he wanted to have in his beer garden and who he didn't. We then left and were happily welcomed at another restaurant! It's really a shame how unkindly we were treated!

Top address! We were spontaneously out and about in Bamberg in fantastic weather and stopped in early in the evening. You can always find a place for two people, including here, even though it was very well attended (outside). Our service was really very friendly and on the ball. The location in the middle of the old town is unbeatable, you sit comfortably, have hearty Franconian cuisine to choose from and of course the beers are first class anyway. Our schnitzels were extremely breaded, tender and the fries were perfect. With a drink under €20 per person - where else can you get that in a location like this today? The portions are of a decent size, so you should be satisfied even if you are hungry. We'd love to come back.

1 in 20 people were asked to leave because that person didn't want to eat. The 19 other people all ordered something and brought in several hundred euros in sales. Mind you, we were sent away at 2:30 (!). So there can be no talk of lunch. Greetings to the unfriendly waiter with a beard and pigtails! The store apparently doesn't need it and is just out to attract tourists. As a native of Bamberg, it's more than a shame! P.S. It's better in the shop opposite 😎

We were a wedding party of 15 people and were turned away because two people didn't want to order food, just drinks. Then we offered to order extra fries, but were sent away anyway. Impossible!

Not a long wait, the staff is well organized and super friendly. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back.

The Ringlein restaurant in Bamberg offers a nice atmosphere and friendly service, but unfortunately there was a small downer during our visit. We ordered a Franconian platter for two people and two Viennese-style schnitzels, accompanied by five drinks. In total we paid €96.00 for it, which seems fair in principle. The food was served quickly and hot and the portions were generous. The Franconian platter offered a good selection of regional specialties, and the schnitzels were tender and crispy. Unfortunately, there was clearly too much salt in all the dishes, which spoiled the enjoyment somewhat. As a result, the fine flavors of Franconian cuisine were somewhat lost. Nevertheless, we would like to emphasize that the service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience of the restaurant, in the middle of the historic old town of Bamberg, is very inviting. The evening would have been perfect with a little less salt on the food. We hope that the kitchen team will take this point into account in the future, as we would like to come back and have an overall positive experience.

We were in the beer garden last night. The food was very good - value for money for Bamberg was absolutely fine. Our service was very friendly! A big minus point goes to the other waiter, who behaved in an impossible way towards a family with a wheelchair user. The family also wanted to have dinner here. The problem was that the passage had to remain clear and there wasn't really enough space for the wheelchair. He offered them a table that had to be moved around a bit. The wheelchair user did not go straight to the table. The waiter then got loud (after all, he has 60 other people here and no time for that). Finally he simply left the family and disappeared. Understandably, they then left the beer garden. The fact is that the waiter could have taken 2 minutes as there were enough other staff there and everyone would certainly have understood. Our waitress finally took her time. If I were him, I would be utterly ashamed of this behavior.

Great location, good food, super nice staff

The cook must have had a taste error, either the sauce was too watery or the pepper mill fell into the sauce in other dishes. The young male, hopefully just a temporary worker, was very snippy and cheeky. His appearance didn't fit into the overall picture with colorful hair and fingernails, the ladies saved a lot here.

There were 6 of us eating on the terrace. Nice ambience. Good food at humane prices. The service was excellent, kept an eye on everything, asked questions often, and was very friendly. One can only congratulate the owners. If we didn't live 240 km away we would come more often. Thank you for the lovely evening

Von hoch bis tief ist alles enthalten, Service ist sehr freundlich, die Küche hat noch deutlich Luft nach oben. Alles in allem einen Besuch wert.

Visit, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in the afternoon On our tour of Germany, with a stop in Bamberg, we discovered the quaint, Franconian restaurant Alt-Ringlein in the middle of Bamberg's old town. Since we liked the menu and would have had to choose a restaurant for dinner anyway, we chose this. After being greeted by the staff, we were able to choose a free table in the beer garden. An order: > Cola mix 0.5l for €4.30 > Currant spritzer 0.5l for €4.50 > Fanta 0.5l for €4.30 > Beef broth with square liver dumplings for €6.50 (as a starter) - alternatively this is also available as a main course > Franconian sauerbraten with red cabbage and napkin dumpling slices for €18.50 > Bamberg horseradish meat, cooked beef brisket with horseradish sauce and dumpling for €19.20 Wow... wow... wow... I haven't eaten so well in a long time. I would like to highlight the beef broth with the square liver dumplings > I have never seen anything like that in my entire life - very good! The sauerbraten was very tasty and the Bamberg horseradish meat with the horseradish sauce... you can tell where the cooking is still going on. Thank you very much... we were very satisfied and would be happy to recommend your restaurant.

Besuch, Mittwoch, 19. Juni 2024 nachmittags Auf unserer Deutschland-Tour, mit Halt in Bamberg, haben wir das urig, fränkische Restaurant Alt-Ringlein inmitten der Altstadt Bambergs entdeckt. Da uns die Speisekarte gefallen hat und wir sowieso noch ein Restaurant für das Abendessen auswählen hätten müssen, haben wir uns hierfür entschieden. Nach der Begrüßung durch das Personal, konnten wir uns einen freien Tisch im Biergarten auswählen. Bestellung: > Cola-Mix 0,5l für 4,30 € > Johannisbeer-Schorle 0,5l für 4,50 € > Fanta 0,5l für 4,30 € > Rinderbrühe mit eckigen Leberknödeln für 6,50 € (als Vorspeise) - alternativ gibt es dies auch als Hauptgang > Fränkischer Sauerbraten mit Blaukraut und Serviettenknödelscheiben für 18,50 € > Bamberger Krenfleisch, gekochte Rinderbrust mit Meerrettichsoße und Kloß für 19,20€ Wow... wow... wow... schon lange habe ich nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Hervorzuheben, möchte ich die Rinderbrühe mit den eckigen Leberknödeln > so etwas habe ich in meinem ganzen Leben noch nicht gesehen - sehr gut! Der Sauerbraten war sehr lecker und das Bamberger Krenfleisch mit der Meerrettichsoße ... da merkt man wo noch richtig gekocht wird. Vielen Dank... wir waren sehr zufrieden und empfehlen Ihr Restaurant gerne weiter.

A very good restaurant to eat German cuisine. The prices are fair and there is plenty of room inside. The service is fast.

Wir waren gleich zwei Mal hintereinander im Außenbereich. Inmitten der historischen Stadt kann der Gast hier die regionale Speisen genießen. Uns hat die überschaubare Karte gefallen. Die Mitarbeitenden waren sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und der Service schnell. Die Speisen kamen schön angerichtet an den Tisch und haben vorzüglich geschmeckt. Die Preise sind völlig in Ordnung.

Very cozy atmosphere, there was even a paintable menu and pens for children. The staff was extremely friendly and the cuisine, who would have expected anything else, was excellent! Nice old hotel in the middle of the old town. the location is excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and big enough. We were able to park our bikes in the garage and load them there. Enough sockets. Gladly again.

Nice restaurant/hotel. Parking spaces are almost impossible to find in the old town. If you are staying in the hotel for a longer period of time, it is advisable to book for a fee, of course. Food was very tasty in the restaurant.

Very rude service. The tone was not appropriate at all. We ate a Schäuferla for two and were not informed that the overcooked savoy cabbage puree was served in a small bowl for one person and in a larger one for two people. When we asked calmly and politely when paying and wanted to be clarified about it, the service exploded. She insinuated that we didn't want to pay. Everything is on the menu. We should pay now and leave. Impossible !!!

Loudest hotel ever. If you don't need to sleep, this is the right place for you. Rooms OK, staff could be more humorous, location great. But every night right in front of the hotel because of the street party and drunk people until the early morning. Impossible to sleep with the window open!

We stayed in this hotel for a weekend. The camp and breakfast are great! The room is clean, but I found the mattresses to be worn out. Topper and therefore uncomfortable. If you sleep with the window open, you have to expect that it will be louder at night. You can't see anything with the windows closed.

Super freundlicher und schneller Service, leckeres Essen und tolle Atmosphäre. Jederzeit wieder! Bei schönem Wetter ist der Außenbereich sehr zu empfehlen und ein Rauchbier darf in Bamberg natürlich nicht fehlen.

Very nice Franconian restaurant in the middle of the old town of Bamberg. The young people in service were all extremely friendly and the food was very good.

I liked this hotel. Breakfast was good, and so was the location. It is located in a busy part of town, so expect crowded streets and lots of noise during tourist season.

Resturant had that there lumberjack steak way back...best ever for all time. Solid fatback pork steak with fries think it was can't remember all🤣🙏

Anyone who wants to be in the heart of Bamberg's nightlife and the center of tourist attractions is in the absolute center here. But even if the party is going on outside the doors, you can still sleep peacefully thanks to the very well insulated windows. The next morning, fortify yourself with a rich breakfast buffet before exploring the city's diverse treasures.

We only ate at the annex restaurant with the same name and ordered "the full monty": Fränkische für 2. A tasty dish for a hungry couple! We almost finished it and we were offered a doggy bag to enjoy a second time. A truly nice and quiet place in the very centre of Bamberg.

We only had dinner at the restaurant. Food was neither good nor delicious. Beer was fine. I cannot able to drink semi-dry red wine, was really sour and they did not change it !!! We sat on the opposite of kitchen and bleach odor was coming there frequently which was really disturbing. Cannot rate rooms !!

Unfortunately, my experience in outside sales was extremely unpleasant. Despite buying 3 beers and a sparkling wine, I didn't receive any deposit vouchers. When I returned the glasses at 5 p.m., I was refused my deposit change, even though I presented my online banking statement as proof. The seller was rude and said I was just unlucky. The lack of customer service and disrespectful treatment was absolutely disappointing...

The hotel is very centrally located in the old town and has a good restaurant in the same building. Very spacious rooms accessible by elevator. Two chairs, desk, shoe horn and plenty of storage space. Very good breakfast with scrambled eggs, fruit, juices and much more.

Tolles Restaurant mit grossen Auswahl an Essen und super nettem und aufmerksamen Personal. Das dazu gehörige Hotel verfügt über nett eingerichtetes und bequeme Zimmer. Die Lage ist top. Ein Tiefgaragenplatz steht zur Verfügung, muss aber vorher reservieret werden. Grössere Autos finden da kein Platz, da sie per lift nach unten befördert werden müssen. Das Personal informiert aber gern, wo man in der Nähe einen Parkplatz findet. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar.

Seit langem mal wieder im Herzen Bambergs mit der Familie zum Essen unterwegs gewesen und MEHR als Positiv überrascht worden. Dankeschöööön! Für eingeborene Bamberger ist die Sandstraße mittlerweile nicht mehr die erste Adresse für einen guten Mittagstisch, ABER! Der Besuch am 23.12. hat mich überzeugt. Liebes Team des Alt Ringlein, toll gemacht! Service, Qualität der Küche, Getränkeauswahl, Ambiente und sogar die dezent passende Musik war alles Top! Wir sehen uns definitiv wieder. Bis bald.

Visited on a cold snowy evening after walking around the Christmas Market on the other side of the Regnitz. The four of us ordered roast goose from the specials menu .... it was absolutely delicious, probably the best roast goose I've ever had! The accompanying potato dumplings were divisive among our party, however, I really liked them personally, and the pureed savoy cabbage, while really tasty, would've been better not mushed, although we all still enjoyed it. The only negative part of the meal was dessert, the Gewürzkuchen was so dry, it was virtually inedible. Despite this disappointing end to the meal, my enduring memory will be the succulent and mouth-watering goose thoroughly enjoyed earlier.

Super Lokal. Sehr gutes Essen. Alte fränkische und urige Gaststätte mit Tradition im Herzen von Bamberg. Das Essen ist noch individuell und traditionell. Das Bier ist süffig und fränkisch würzig. Sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service ist überragend!
