Great place for a steak and good Burger 🍔

Overall, I have a nice impression of the restaurant. The staff were kind and helpful. The meat was good; the salad, on the other hand, was swimming in water and dressing, which was a bit unpleasant. The roasted vegetables were yummy but a bit greasy for my taste. The burger was served on a piece of bread, which was a bit odd. The rest was fine. Definitely make a reservation in advance; it was super busy.

The food is always TOP at this Block House! The steaks are always top quality and cooked exactly as ordered every time! Salads are always crunchy and fresh! The service is always super courteous and quick! When you come here, you can only get it right, no matter what you order! Thanks to the whole team!

This branch has been around for a long time, the location is great between the Rothenbaum tennis court and the Alster. Furnished like back then but well maintained, you have a clear moment of recognition. The food was delicious, but we were a bit surprised by the very small portions, hence one star less. But taste delicious as usual. Parking spaces are an absolute problem, you have to be lucky here, HVV is better. Our absolute highlight was the service overall... especially our nice, funny, helpful and friendly service. We haven't felt so comfortable in a long time, with a great eye for needs and quick help. THANK YOU for this - it rounded off the evening - there should be many more employees like this with heart.

I love the Block House chain but visiting this branch was a bitter disappointment in several ways. We ordered two “Block Burgers” with cheese and fries and coleslaw as sides. Two naked minced steaks with cheese were served without bread/bun, without lettuce leaf/tomato/vegetables and without sauce (ketchup/mayo/mustard). When we asked while serving whether there might have been a mix-up because burgers had been ordered, the waitress replied with irritation that it was common practice in this establishment to sell a patty without the usual burger components as a "burger" and whether we were unhappy with that. Afterwards the manager came to the table and said they didn't have any buns in stock, but it would be possible to get a piece of bread with the patty, probably as a gesture of goodwill. Our request to also serve a sauce with the dry patty and fries was reluctantly acknowledged. The bread never arrived at the table, but at least some sour cream did. When asked whether we were satisfied, we explained again that this was not the case for the reasons mentioned above and we also explained again what is generally understood by a burger and that as a customer you feel a little cheated after what was presented and can by no means be satisfied. There was no sign of the usual block house standard of hospitality and service here. There was no apology, no accommodation, no attempt to make amends, just the bill, which we paid down to the cent. The only fitting conclusion at this point is a quote from Loriot: "For us, Pear Helene is apple compote with cream."

Little choice of food... More baked potato than sour cream...the bowl for 3 people was tiny. Waiter very nice.

Unfortunately, our spontaneous visit to the Block House was a disappointment that lasted the entire evening. Although we were greeted warmly, the service left much to be desired right from the start and seemed uncoordinated and not very attentive. The problems started when we were having a smoke and our starters were already being served. As soon as we sat down at our table again, the main courses were brought out - without the starters being cleared away or the table being re-set. Instead, we had to eat our main courses alongside the starters that had not yet been removed, which significantly disrupted the enjoyment. Another problem was the waiter's lack of attention. During the entire evening we were hardly asked if everything was okay. This was particularly noticeable when we discovered that the doneness of our steaks was incorrect. Even though we ordered medium rare, the steaks were well done - a clear mistake that shouldn't happen at a steakhouse of this level. But since the waiter rarely showed up anyway, it was difficult to address these deficiencies directly. The lack of care was also evident in the drinks. Our glasses remained empty for a long time and it was only a waitress from the neighboring station who noticed that we needed new drinks. Their effort was commendable, but it should actually have been the job of our waiter in charge. All in all, this visit was characterized by poor coordination and a lack of service. The most serious point, however, was the fact that the main courses were served while the starters were still on the table - an error that gave the impression of haste and carelessness. Combined with the incorrectly prepared steaks and the lack of inquiry as to whether everything was OK, this visit fell far short of expectations. It's a shame that the Block House didn't live up to its service or quality standards that evening.

Delicious steaks and super service. We were a party of 10 people and the waiter really managed to create a good atmosphere.

I was really impressed by the ambience in the Block House on Mittelweg. It creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. Clearly, great attention is paid to details to provide guests with an authentic and warm experience. We have the “Mr. Ordered rump steak. Overall, the dish was okay, but didn't quite live up to my expectations. The meat wasn't completely cooked through and didn't melt in the mouth like I would have liked.

Good steak, fun atmosphere and great service

The restaurant offers exceptionally good service and stands out from some of the other restaurants in the chain. In keeping with the guiding concept, the ambience has been cozy and therefore pleasantly familiar for decades. The only drawback is that the meat had to go back to the kitchen on 2 out of 3 visits to actually get the result “medium” on the table. Things are going better in other branches.

The staff, Mrs. Müller-Heth, seemed very stressed today at 12.30, rushed through the restaurant in a very unfriendly manner, you could almost get scared Maybe you should be sent outside the door more often to breathe deeply so that you can slow down Strange for a service worker There are also other nice jobs without people

This is a typical family diner. You will not be disappointed with the food or the atmosphere. Worth a try!

Solid ambience and lovely audience! Truly a break from everyday life.

Six of us spontaneously got a table there on Saturday evening. The service was really super accommodating and nice, great! The orders came pretty quickly and together. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and clean, I think the open kitchen is great, but it is also a bit warm :D In terms of food, we were all satisfied so far, but there were no cucumbers and too many tomatoes in the salads. You could also get a different type of fries...the small, thin ones are not good. All in all, you can eat there without any problems.

We were here with friends. The food was good, there's really nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, the service is below average and the service staff is not very attentive. Unfortunately, you get the feeling that you are not a guest but someone who has to be dealt with quickly. The staff did not take away empty bottles. Drinks delivery came incorrectly and incomplete twice. When our glasses were empty, no one came to order more. Very inattentive. Sorry but that's not good service. Therefore point deduction. Unfortunately, one or two points have to be deducted from the ambience. The classic furnishings are missing. No curtains or curtains on the window. There were no table decorations either. Some of the cards were glued together… it was very unsightly. I know it much better. The Blockhouse in Berlin at the Zoo e.g. B. is much, much better and the service there too. As an example.

I recently had dinner here with my colleague and we were absolutely thrilled. What an incredibly friendly and helpful staff, fantastic. At lunchtime we ordered a lunch special and a steak with side dishes. After a small starter salad, the main course came to us very promptly. The steak was as requested, just perfect and the daily special (chicken breast on noodles) was also excellent. Finally, we ordered dessert. The chocolate cake and the caramelized weapons were to die for. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again. Continued good business, keep it up. The restaurant is good and the hotel is good too, but your son (Eugen Block's son - Dirk Block) should slowly admit that he attacked me from behind and beat me up and then lied to the court. Yes. I don't want Eugen Block to die and then I can't tell him anymore.

Abstieg von guter Küche nach ganz unten. Krosse Entenbrüste als Angebot. Die Entenbrüste waren schwammig und so zäh, dass sie mit einem Staekmesser nicht geschnitten werden konnten. Zudem lagen sie auf einem lieblos hinggeklatschten Salathaufen, welcher im Essigsud schwamm. Zu große harte Zwiebelringe und zwei Tomatenscheiben rundeten die Gedecke ab. Die separat bestellten Backkartoffeln mit Sauerrahm waren hart und schienen nicht frisch zubereitet zu sein. Nach der Reklamation bei der Bedienung wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass alle Entenbrüste in der Küche so gefertigt werden. Ersatzweise bestellten wir deshalb Block house Steaks, medium well. Die Steaks schwammen im bereits ausgetretenen Fleischsaft und waren so zäh, dass die Totenstarre beim Schlachttier noch nicht eingetreten war. Eine Würzung der Steaks hatte man nicht vorgenommen. Solche Steaks zu servieren lässt die schlechte Qualität des Fleisches und das schlechte Können des Koches voll erkennen. Bei der Bestellung der trockenen Rotweine kannte die Bedienung sich nicht aus. Sie meinte wir sollen doch den chilenischen Rotwein wählen. Dieser war dann nur teuer, fade, nicht trocken und entsprach nicht der geforderten Wahl. Ein Besuch der Toilette im Kellergeschoß war von unserer gehbehinderten Begleitung nicht zu erreichen. Ein sicheres Treppengeländer und eine Behindertentoilette waren nicht vorhanden. Die Frage an die Bediensteten nach Hilfe wurde damit beantwortet, dass alle ihrer Betriebe solche Toiletten hätten und dass man vor dem Restaurantbesuch doch die Toilette zu Hause benutzen solle. Hilfe gäbe es nicht. Solch ein Restaurant werden wir nie wieder betreten.

Amazing food as always but there are some very upsetting waiters! Work hard to ruin the mood but I remember the Portuguese guy worked 2x harder to fix it! Great job in his side, no complaints! It’s easy to accommodate a big grouр.

The food was once again very good in the log cabin. What is worth mentioning about the Blockhaus Pöseldorf is that the staff here really stands out. Everyone is nice and very friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back.

We ate there yesterday and it was incredibly delicious. The side salad (or in this case the starter salad) came incredibly quickly and the French dressing was great. We had Mrs. and Mr. Rumpsteak. So one steak each, one baked potato with sour cream and garlic bread. Plus fried onions and mushrooms. Everything was of very good quality. The staff was very nice, humorous, attentive and we felt comfortable. A relaxing and relaxed atmosphere that we were looking for after the hustle and bustle of the port of Hamburg. The price was also affordable for the “average wallet”. If we came to Hamburg again, we would visit the Block House again.

Steak houses are the same across the atlantic, if your from the USA its a taste of home. I came here with 2 elderly relatives who have mobility issues and the staff was extremely accomodating.

Block House has been delivering consistently good quality food for years, the service is also great, but unfortunately the prices and portion sizes are no longer realistic. You would expect that for €35 you would at least be able to fill yourself up with a small drink, but unfortunately that is not possible here. Unfortunately, the shop isn't that great that I'm willing to spend €40-50 per person for a simple evening during the week. For the price, the taste of the food would have to be a lot better. This will be my last visit for a long time.

Ive been dining at Block House for more than 2 decades now, and I can say that this is the most consistent restaurant ive been to. Service, food, atmosphere. Always 10/10. 👍

We waited for 25 min before they took our order, the food took forever and the sauces we ordered were missing. After asking for the sauces it took them another 10 min to deliver them , at that time the fries were eaten and the steak for €33 was cold.

Was visiting Hamburg and had dinner here at the Block House to enjoy the great time here! The employee who served us was also super friendly. The food was also really good and we felt completely at home. As we were sitting there talking, Smudo suddenly came along with his children. That was surprising!

At the Block House Pöseldorf I have experienced top service and a consistently cozy atmosphere for 20 years. My Rib Eye Master Cut was grilled perfectly medium rare - a real treat! Definitely my favorite place for a first class steak experience!

The atmosphere is still very inviting. However, I am no longer satisfied. More and more convenience food is being used here. For example, I saw the grill master pressing spinach from a plastic package onto the plate. Well then. But what really shocked me is the 4th (!) price increase in 3 years. According to the Abendblatt, the rate will be increased again from mid-January. Inflation, VAT or not - that can no longer be justified and this is where cash is supposed to be made - a la the 'stupid' Pöseldörfer pays anyway. Where else is this supposed to go?

Lovely steaks, friendly service and cosy atmosphere. Steaks come with salad, garlic bread and a baked potato with sour cream. Their desserts are great too.

The food quality was good, but the quantity was too little. It was pretty full so the service was also not really great. I also recommend buying a new dishwasher (see picture attached)

Toller Ort. Netter Service und leckeres Essen!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend im Block House Pöseldorf. Die Steaks waren wie gewohnt on point und vor allem der Service, namentlich Sunil, war grandios! Selten einen so aufmerksamen und sympathischen Kellner getroffen. Macht weiter so!

Wir wollten Gästen aus der Schweiz mit traditioneller Hamburger Steak House Gastronomie erfreuen, konnten sie aber nicht beeindrucken. Die Steaks, wie gewünscht, medium oder rare zu grillen, fällt offensichtlich nicht leicht. Ein angeschnittenes Medium-Steak, das rare geraten war und reklamiert wurde, kam nachgegrillt und entsprechend negativ geschmacksverändert zurück. An bestellte Beilagen musste erinnert werden. Die Krönung: eine bestelle Flasche Wein kam geöffnet an den Tisch, das Etikett wurde nicht gezeigt, ein Probeschluck nicht angeboten, vielmehr in hohem Bogen eingeschenkt. Ein paar kritische Anmerkungen wurden mit freundlichem Bedauern quittiert, an einen Wiedergutmacher, Kaffee oder Likör etc. war nicht zu denken. Dies gilt auch für das Ergebnis eines Telefonats mit einem Manager der Kette auf eine schriftliche Kritik hin. Souveränes Abtropfen lassen mit den üblichen Erklärungen, viel zu tun, Personalmangel .. Der Gipfel "eigentlich soll es im Block House keine Flaschenweine geben ( "der Chef wünscht das nicht"), offen wird die Flasche serviert, da sie am Tresen bereits geöffnet wird/ Schraubverschluss, Probeschluck unnötig, unsere Weine sind gut ...). Keine Rede von irgendeiner "Wiedergutmachung". Hanseatische Gastlichkeit ist das nicht!

Wie immer: Super freundlicher Service, verlässliche Qualität beim Essen. Gibt es gar nichts auszusetzen!

Waren mit einer großen Gruppe dort, hatten zuvor reserviert. Der Service war 1A, Getränke und Essen kamen in kürzester Zeit, es wurde oft gefragt, ob alles stimmt und ob wir noch etwas möchten. Essen war auch richtig lecker. Immer wieder gern!

Block House. Mehr gibt es da fast nicht zu schreiben. Egal wo und wann, das Essen ist durchgehend lecker und von hoher Qualität. Das Personal immer gut gelaunt und auch, wenn man mit Kindern dort ist, zuvorkommend.

Ich war besonders beeindruckt von der Qualität der Speisen und der Zubereitung. Auch der Service war erstklassig. Die Kellner waren freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Sie haben sich stets um unser Wohl gekümmert und waren immer zur Stelle, wenn wir etwas benötigten. Das Personal hat definitiv zu einem angenehmen Gesamterlebnis beigetragen. Zudem möchte ich die Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hervorheben. Ich fand, dass die Qualität der Gerichte und der Service den Preis absolut rechtfertigten. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich für mein Geld ein hochwertiges Erlebnis erhalten habe. Insgesamt war mein Besuch im Block House Pöseldorf rundum positiv. Tolles Block House mit Tradition. Mein Mr. 1 Steakhouse in Hamburg. Perfektes Steak, super Service und schönes Ambiente. Keine Parkplätze, aber ein öffentliches Parkhaus befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Klare Empfehlung!

War heute Abend alleine da und hatte vorsichtshalber reserviert. Als Single hatte ich mit dem Katzentisch neben dem Eingang gerechnet, doch nein, man ließ mich im gut besetzten Restaurant einen Tisch aussuchen. Ich suchte mir eine nette Ecke und war überrascht von der Freundlichkeit und Geschwindigkeit des Personals: mein Pils kam asap, dann der wirklich schöne Salat zum Steak und schließlich das dicke, perfekt rosa gebratene Rumpsteak mit tollen Röstaromen! Alles wunderbar, und noch dazu ein freundlicher Service. Bravo! Ich komme wieder. Versprochen.

Wir kommen regelmäßig zu Block House. Allerdings hat man die Preise nun wieder erhöht und als junge Familie werden wir nun nach Alternativen suchen müssen. Die Preise wurden kontinuierlich erhöht und die letzte Preiserhöhung hätte nicht sein müssen, denn schliesslich ist die Inflation stark rückläufig und das gleiche gilt für Rindfleischpreise. Das Essen und Service ist wie immer sehr gut gewesen.

Ein schönes modernes Blockhaus. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und das Essen war on point gegart. Mittagstisch ca. 11 Euro. Ab 12 Uhr Mittag.

Ein Block House in gewohnt guter Qualität. Der Mittagstisch ist von Preis/Leistung einer der besten in der Gegend!

Ich kann es gar nicht so richtig beschreiben, aber das Blockhaus am Mittelweg wird immer piefiger und miefiger... Ich weiß aus der Presse, dass der Egon Block Stress hat mit seinem Schwiegersohn und den Enkeln, aber trotzdem kann man doch hier mal an dieser 1A-Adresse ein wenig renovieren und das Ganze etwas moderner und schöner machen, oder nicht? Also Ambiente maximal ein Stern. Der Service war im Grunde genommen freundlich, aber eigentlich auch schon müde und abgearbeitet.. für einen Donnerstagabend um 20.40h recht erstaunlich.. Drei Sterne gibt es nur, weil das Mr Rumpsteak echt wirklich super lecker schmeckte... Das war es dann aber auch schon! Ich hatte noch Rahmspinat dazu bestellt, aufgetaut und auf den Teller gehauen, schmeckte total langweilig und eher nach Erde als nach Spinat... Hatte zusätzlich auch noch Coleslaw bestellt, das war das schlimmste was ich jemals gegessen habe. Das war eher ein Karottensalat mit milchhaltiger flüssiger Mayonnaise... Egon Block, in einem Restaurant mit dieser Lage hätte ich von Ihnen und Ihrem Team ein solches Essen wirklich nicht erwartet. Ich bin kein anspruchsvoller Mensch aber vielleicht sollten Sie mal nach Oklahoma fahren und dann dort Coleslaw essen, bzw in Deutschland mal richtigen Rahmspinat probieren und dann vergleichen mit dem, was man bei Ihnen im Mittelweg (!) anbietet... Ein Glück war das Rumpsteak wirklich perfekt. Sonst hätte es mir wirklich den gesamten Abend und Folgetag ruiniert... Denken Sie mal drüber nach und reagieren Sie..

Fisch war trocken, Service aufdringlich, kennt man so von Block nicht

Habe ein gutes Steak zu einem fairen Preis erhalten und geschmacklich war es super ( Ribeye). Der Blattspinat extra dazu war sehr lecker und auch die Backkartoffel, welche ich sonst oft weglasse da ich meist keine Lust auf diese Beilage habe, war geschmacklich gut. Es ist sicher ein Szene Restaurant in Pöseldorf und daher für die Einheimischen vor Ort ein gemütlicher Treff, beim Ambiente geht aber finde ich noch etwas mehr. Service sympathisch und zügig 👍.
