Another good offshoot of the steakhouse chain. The service and the quality of the food were excellent as usual and the restaurant was also very well attended. With Block House you are guaranteed to always get the best steaks 👍

Good meat, delicious salad, good service. There's nothing more left to say. Small negative point: our steaks were more medium rare than medium...you have to like it. We enjoyed it, but with a steak specialist you expect your meat to be grilled to perfection.

Any day and every time a visit to Block house is a routine. Great food.. good ambience and service.. With the turn around of customers, the service is so perfect… Please book your table in advance or head there early rather than wait for a table… Weekends is buzzing…

I worked as a "young, fully trained chef, 18 years old" in 1979 at the BlockHouse Hildesheimerstr. restaurant. worked in Hanover. For a young chef, the style of presentation, of grilling, was interesting to gain such experiences. I was able to get to know Mr. Manfred Bloch personally. Great person! But now to the actual thing: the BlockHause (I can't remember the street name; turn left from Georgstrasse) was (almost) furnished as it used to be. Cozy and somehow a very special flair. Service, cooks, operations manager... all extremely friendly and accommodating. The meat was perfectly ripe and perfectly fried. Now that I'm retiring, I'm going to all of "my" former restaurants. And BlockHouse was my FIRST job after my apprenticeship! Great start to my European trip. I would love to come back and will always positively recommend this restaurant!

I like to be here more often, not just in the evenings, but also for lunch. The location is practical if you want to attend appointments in the city center. The food and wine are consistently good, there are vegetarian dishes, and the service is very attentive, quick and courteous. You can tell that service training is being carried out here. The regional water offering is great. Price-performance ratio is great! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We ate here yesterday. The steaks were good, but not as tasty as Block House quality. Unfortunately, the waitress who was responsible for our table was apparently not in a good mood. But overall good service. Ambience good. Toilets very clean. Overall ok.

The food was super tasty. Only the ambience was really bad. We wanted to end the evening in peace with good food. Which unfortunately wasn't possible. I felt very harassed by the waitress, she didn't give me 5 minutes to even read the menu. The whole thing gave you the feeling of sitting down, ordering quickly, eating even quicker and clearing the table very quickly. Processing like on an assembly line.

I've been to a lot of steakhouses now, but at Block Haus they just can't do a normal rump steak medium rare. It was tasty, but from the grill to the table the meat lagged and was almost rare. Service top, ambience too. It was enough for a good steak, but unfortunately only good

Very nice staff!!!! We had a dog with us and the waiters immediately found a quiet place for us! The entire meal was really very, very good!!!!! We didn't have to wait long. The salad was fresh. 👌🏼 We would come back in a heartbeat!

The food is delicious and the service very good. The filet steak was so juicy and perfectly done. The fries were perfect. We came back for brunch and the scrambled eggs on German bread were phenomenally tasty. Almond milk cappuccino really unbelievably good! It doesn’t happen often that a place delivers the kind of experience that will stay with me. But Block House is pretty unforgettable. Well done!

The food is super tasty, but the portions are overwhelming. 3 small pieces of meat, fries and a piece of bread for over €20. Too bad. I was able to see directly how the food was being prepared. Sauces and vegetables from transparent bags. I've never seen anything like that before. The Caesar salad was also delicious, but for the price I would have expected a larger portion. But definitely attentive service.

They actually deserve 0 stars because they approached a group that seemed to them to have a migrant background with a racist tone. Guests at the next table also noticed and expressed their frustration to us and showed compassion. Staekhäuser should be colorful. A pity.

Food was great but the old blonde woman who served us was incredibly unfriendly. She insulted us several times and then spoke negatively about us to other customers. Impossible, I'll never visit this location again!

I like a good steak... I just think the prices here are really exaggerated. I know everything is getting more expensive. But it also has its limits. The tables are small and I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant. Food arrived after five minutes. That means everything was prepared. Eat quickly and then the next guest comes to the table. At over €100 for two people I expect more...

Price-performance ratio wasn't right. The food didn't taste that good either. Crispy fried chicken was limp and gristly.

The food was really tasty 😋 and the meat was on point! Our waiter was also nice and quite quick. It was very crowded...and therefore the background noise was high...conversation at the table was hardly possible! So my conclusion for a meal if it's supposed to be quick, yes...but if it's supposed to be a cozy evening, no! Sorry! Am known for my honesty!

Burgers are not burgers but rather a meatball with a baguette. You shouldn't order anything except steak.

Nice location, with ample availability of tables. Menu obviously dedicated to meat. The dish fully convinced me and so did the dessert (chocolate cake). I would recommend bringing the salad together with the meat dish and not before. Service without infamy and without praise. Price a little high compared to the quality offered.

I went there for my first dinner in Germany. I received the 250g steak set for €35. Really delicious! ! German beer is also great. However, due to the weak yen, it is expensive for ordinary Japanese people! ! People of all ages, men and women, families and couples enjoyed the meal.

Worst tartare I've ever eaten, rump steak was okay. Plates and cutlery not clean. Loud shouts from the kitchen could be heard throughout the store.

That was very bad service from Patrick.R. First there was not enough starter soup, then suddenly there was one too much. This with the words it's on the house. Then the fries were missing from one meal. They weren't delivered either. Finally, the starter soup appeared on the bill. After the usual waiting time and recalculation, the waitress came to our table without a bill and then asked what we had to pay. There were no tips for this brilliant performance.

A steakhouse with a very standardized menu and good quality processes. Nothing is left to chance here. I'm still missing that certain 'extra'. But maybe that's what keeps me coming back. What deserves praise is the extremely confident, humorously relaxed way in which the employee dealt with the accident caused by a drink glass that was spilled all over the table. More than professionally, the team cleared the table quickly, cleaned it and, with a wink, set it clean and completely again. It's good that you can't see the stains on the dark, absorbent carpet... smile. I was here again after a long time. The standard has remained, almost reassuring, in times when a lot is changing quickly. A few changes to the menu were well received by me. Even though it may not correspond to the original philosophy of the Block House, vegetarians no longer have to be left behind. Apparently people understood things very well here. Thank you.

We were there on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was delicious, the service was friendly. But unfortunately it was very loud and not comfortable. The tables are very close together so it's hard to have a good conversation.

The staff was very friendly and tried hard, unfortunately the food didn't convince us at all. We all had the cheeseburger. Instead of getting a burger as expected, there was instead a patty gratinated with cheese on log cabin bread that was soggy from fat. Unfortunately there were no pickles, sauce, tomatoes or burger buns. Add a small spoonful of coleslaw. The potato gratin ordered with it was a small pile of ready-made gratin with melted cheese. In terms of taste, it wasn't great either and was more reminiscent of a microwave dish. Overall, unfortunately a disappointing experience.

The steaks are always very good! The baked potatoes and salad also go very well with it. I think it's nice that we always got extra cream with the potatoes in case what was on it wasn't enough :)

2x Herford Rib-Eye and one beef tartare. For the price you can't complain and it's worth a visit. The meat taste through the grill is remarkable

Block House as you know it, but unfortunately of all the Block House in Hanover, the one with the worst service. It's a shame because it's very centrally located and you're often nearby.

It was very busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The service is always nice. Mrs. Rumpsteak is great, even though it has now become more expensive, the quality is good.

In dieser Block House Filiale waren wir zum ersten Mal, aber wie gewohnt war alles super. Die Bedienung immer freundlich und schnell, die Atmosphäre entspannt und nicht zu laut, vor allem aber das Fleisch genau auf dem gewünschten Punkt gebraten. Immer wieder sein Geld wert.

Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich, und trotz des etwas beengten und hellhörigen Ambientes fühlten wir uns herzlich willkommen. Die Vorspeise, Avocado-Tartar mit Tomatenkonfit, war geschmacklich gut abgestimmt, auch wenn sie beim Servieren sehr kalt war, was den Geschmack etwas dämpfte. Doch gemeinsam mit dem warmen Baguette, war es sehr lecker. Doch das Highlight erwartete uns erst - der Gargrad des Fleisches hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen – das Filet Mignon war unglaublich zart und schmackhaft. Das ist das bisher beste Steak das ich essen durfte! Das klassische Blockhouse-Knoblauchbrot ist zudem einfach zum Verlieben, und die hauseigene Knoblauchbutter ist ein absolutes Must-Try.
